- 1:32local transportation more resilient to extreme
- 1:34weather. The city of Sacramento has received
- 1:37a 2026 Beacon Leadership Award for SACADAPT,
- 1:42a transportation planning project developed with
- 1:45Sacramento Regional Transit. The plan looks at
- 1:48how extreme weather. Flooding and severe storms
- 1:52could affect Sacramento streets, sidewalks, and
- 1:55bike routes, as well as public transportation.
- 1:58It also identifies vulnerable infrastructure
- 2:01and recommends where future improvements may
- 2:04be needed. Community input played a major role.
- 2:08The city and SacRT held 36 outreach events and
- 2:13collected more than 860 survey responses. Residents
- 2:17said they want more shade. and tree canopies,
- 2:21better protected bus stops, improved drainage,
- 2:24and greater investment in neighborhoods especially
- 2:27vulnerable to extreme weather. SACADAPT was approved
- 2:33by the city and SACRT in April and will now help
- 2:38guide the future projects and grant funding.
