The one most special lesson we need to learn and keep on learning about is that God's favor is won by the humble. Mary was an ordinary young girl. Her one quality, among the many gifts she enjoyed, that caught God's eye was her humility. She saw herself to be a handmaiden. "Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be it done to me according to your word." The ones who enjoy God's favor are the humble. He gives his grace to the humble.
