- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31So actually I said it's good morning, but it's really the
- 0:34afternoon because you know the morning it's too dark for me to
- 0:36be out there and we are locking the girls up for the night.
- 0:40So there is no prescriptive formula for success.
- 0:46Yes, you heard me say it. There is no prescription, no
- 0:49prescriptive formula that says OK, this is if you do all these
- 0:53things, this will make you successful.
- 0:56There are plenty of people out there that will tell you
- 1:00different, but I am telling you right now as somebody who has
- 1:04done this for over 50,000 hours of coaching, approaching 51,000
- 1:09hours of coaching. It is very much a combination of
- 1:16mindset and activity. It is all about your energy and
- 1:21the emotion you stay in as well as the tasks and the the setup
- 1:29you have for those tasks, the consistency that you do them in
- 1:33to be successful. So it it, you can sit there and
- 1:36you can say, hey, I just got someone to give me their formula
- 1:39for success and they can tell you.
- 1:42But if you went to do the exact same thing, it may or may not
- 1:45work because it all depends on the mindset you're in.
- 1:48And it depends on how well you are connected to doing that
- 1:53activity consistently. And that's where it becomes
- 1:57tricky because we have to look at things and make a decision
- 2:00and decide if we're willing to be that consistent.
- 2:04And for most people, consistency is critically hard.
- 2:08It it, it is a big deal. Consistency is one of those
- 2:13things that drives so many people over the edge.
- 2:16They don't like doing the same things all the time.
- 2:18They don't like dealing with the same things all the time.
- 2:21That's absolutely correct, Sammy.
- 2:24And they will complain about it nonstop because they feel like
- 2:29if they have to do the same things over and over and over
- 2:31and over and over and over and over, they are not going to
- 2:33enjoy themselves. And they will say that.
- 2:35So they say I have to change it. I can't just do it.
- 2:38And I hear people say it all the time, like, oh, it gets to be
- 2:42drudgery. Well, it only gets to be
- 2:43drudgery because you're going into it with a specific mindset,
- 2:48which doesn't necessarily serve you.
- 2:50And so we repeat, we wash, rinse and repeat the, the process of
- 2:54destruction for our own well-being.
- 2:57Because if we could just change what it meant to us, you know,
- 3:01this is the, the heart of what people who meditate, Buddhist
- 3:07monks, Hindi monks talk about. It's they, they do these things
- 3:11over and over and over to break themselves of the cycle of
- 3:14thinking that they have to be done, you know, a certain way to
- 3:21say, oh, yes, there's success. No, they, what they do is they
- 3:24do it over and over and over until it becomes rote and
- 3:26there's no meaning to it. It's kind of like brushing your
- 3:29teeth. So if you think of brushing your
- 3:31teeth, do you brush your teeth and complain about brushing your
- 3:35teeth? No, because when you were
- 3:36little, your parents broke you of that habit and they got you
- 3:40into it and they said, no, this is what has to be done.
- 3:43And you just cooperated and you did it.
- 3:44And therefore you don't have a problem brushing your teeth now
- 3:47you just do it. And that's a great thing because
- 3:50guess what, we have to brush our teeth.
- 3:52You do not want to walk around in this world with yuck mouth.
- 3:55So we just do it. In the meantime, we have this
- 3:59consistent thought process around.
- 4:03I've got to know how to be successful.
- 4:04I've got to know how to be successful and there's tons and
- 4:08tons and tons of books. I mean, how many of you
- 4:10listening have books on your shelves about how to be
- 4:12successful in business or marketing or even mindset?
- 4:16All of it. You have all these books up
- 4:18there, but you feel like you still haven't mastered it and
- 4:20you're still working on it. Well, I can tell you I've got
- 4:23tons and tons and tons of books on gardening and all kinds of
- 4:27things. And I can tell you I am still
- 4:29not successful with some of it. I still can't grow certain
- 4:32things and God knows some of them are not hard to grow, but
- 4:36for some reason I still can't get them to work.
- 4:38So this is, this is a across the board situation that has to be
- 4:44looked at. And it, it comes down to sitting
- 4:48down and saying, Hey, you know what?
- 4:50What is my mindset around this? Do I believe I'm going to be
- 4:52successful or not? And am I willing to do the
- 4:55simple, consistent steps to make that work?
- 4:59And if I am, then I've got, I've got a great chance of being
- 5:02successful at that. But if I don't, then I have an
- 5:05absolutely horrible chance of being successful.
- 5:09I will not be successful. So consistency matters in a big,
- 5:14huge way. Huge way.
- 5:16And it also matters to you to understand that your mindset has
- 5:19to be as consistent. So both things, being
- 5:21consistent, get us where we want to head.
- 5:24In doing that, we have an opportunity.
- 5:27So think about that. My friends and I will see you
- 5:30tomorrow. Bye.
