- 0:01Speaker 1: The whole Achy Big Show with Jason, Mike and Kyzy.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Tune in week days at four on Radio Hodikey.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Gorilla's there on the Radio Hodarky Big Show this Tuesday
- 0:10Speaker 2: evening twenty minutes to six o'clock.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Sure is, Hey, I just want to have a chat
- 0:14Speaker 3: to you about my dog Tinker. Yes, we moved into
- 0:19Speaker 3: a new place and it's got no no cat door
- 0:23Speaker 3: in it.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Right you know that? Yeah, because you don't have a cat.
- 0:26Speaker 4: A we haven't even got a cat.
- 0:27Speaker 3: But in the last place we had a cat door,
- 0:28Speaker 3: and in fact, all of our houses with had cat
- 0:30Speaker 3: doors and that allows our our little dog there, Tinker.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Yeah, he's a toy dog.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Gay Uh, she she's a toy Do think about it,
- 0:40Speaker 3: as Jason, as you're constantly misgendering Tinker and she won't
- 0:43Speaker 3: stand for it.
- 0:44Speaker 4: No, she won't stand for it. I know she went
- 0:46Speaker 4: me the last time I went there. I remember. It's
- 0:49Speaker 4: so good matchup.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Actually, So there's no cat door there, right, So that
- 0:56Speaker 3: means old Tinker who Tinker has been doing steamers in
- 1:00Speaker 3: the house.
- 1:01Speaker 4: And you're saying you got carpet, We've got carpet.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Carpet throughout as they say, in the ads carpet throughout,
- 1:07Speaker 3: and so every now and again you go, here's another steamer.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Have to pretend I haven't seen that one. So the
- 1:12Speaker 3: wife has to clean it up, am I right?
- 1:14Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:14Speaker 2: Because I was remembering about a week or two ago,
- 1:17Speaker 2: you went, you're no good at it clean cleaning up
- 1:20Speaker 2: steamers in the carpet, and so yeah, your wife does it.
- 1:24Speaker 4: Yeah that's right. Which is the same in my house,
- 1:26Speaker 4: by the way.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah that's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's right. And what
- 1:29Speaker 3: about with the firewood at your house? Who did the
- 1:32Speaker 3: firewood when you had a fire? Who did the firewood? Me?
- 1:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I did the food at house. It evens out
- 1:37Speaker 4: in the end.
- 1:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I chopped it and stuff.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Yeah, you chopped it, loaded it up, spacked it up.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Yeah yeah. And she does the steamer and she does
- 1:45Speaker 4: the steamers.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Yeah, anyway, the problem wrong?
- 1:49Speaker 4: Can I sign Muggie?
- 1:51Speaker 5: Can I just say too?
- 1:52Speaker 2: Back in the day, of course, she did the poolin appies.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I made the cup of tea. Yeah that's right,
- 1:58Speaker 2: it evens there.
- 1:59Speaker 4: How many cheese would you have? Well, she drank a
- 2:01Speaker 4: lot of tea bag.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Then hence all the steamers. But the problem that I'm
- 2:07Speaker 3: having with my dog. Your thinker is that she's arthritic.
- 2:13Speaker 3: She's heavily arthroatic, and so the front paws are turning
- 2:15Speaker 3: in on themselves. You know what it's like, Man, it's horrible. Yes,
- 2:18Speaker 3: sort of contorts the legs there.
- 2:20Speaker 4: And yeah.
- 2:22Speaker 3: The problem with the cat door that we've had installed
- 2:24Speaker 3: is it's quite high.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Sure, so it's difficult for my dog, Tinker to.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Get in and out. And I've come home. I came
- 2:33Speaker 3: home this morning and she was sort of caught half
- 2:37Speaker 3: way in and half way out, Tinker. And it's a
- 2:42Speaker 3: sad sight.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Man. It's hard when your family members get old. Yeah, yeah, totally.
- 2:45Speaker 2: And you were saying, not only was she caught half
- 2:47Speaker 2: way in half way out, she had half a steamer.
- 2:51Speaker 6: It was sort of halfway actually it was actually in
- 2:55Speaker 6: her mouth because she felt so bad about having done
- 2:59Speaker 6: another steamer on the cap. That's clever, too smart, Tinker. Yeah, right,
- 3:11Speaker 6: So she's pretty smart dog. But so I don't know
- 3:14Speaker 6: what to do.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Really. I guess I can put steps up.
- 3:18Speaker 3: To the right to the doggy door, because then it
- 3:20Speaker 3: would take a little bit of the load off, you
- 3:22Speaker 3: know what I mean. But I haven't come up with
- 3:26Speaker 3: the perfect solution.
- 3:26Speaker 2: As yet, it sounds like she's getting rid of a
- 3:28Speaker 2: lot of the load before she goes outside.
- 3:31Speaker 6: That's part of the problem, physical load, the load on
- 3:34Speaker 6: her shoulders. Oh, as you were talking load.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Yeah, she does the steamer and then she goes outside
- 3:43Speaker 4: just for give a bit of fresh to the steamer
- 3:47Speaker 4: in the carpet.
- 3:49Speaker 3: How high is the doggie door? It sounds quite high
- 3:51Speaker 3: for it it is. It's probably about my head height.
- 3:54Speaker 3: It's just about my head height. Because you don't want
- 3:57Speaker 3: burglars to be able to get in, you see, that's true. Yes,
- 4:00Speaker 3: So we've got that cabin and the thing is been
- 4:02Speaker 3: there three weeks, haven't had one burglar.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Yeah, but what we need is a third burglar. Yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 1: The Whole Archy Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and.
- 4:15Speaker 6: Kisy Navana with the cover of The Meat Puppets Lake
- 4:18Speaker 6: of Fire Unplugged four minutes two five o'clock Here on
- 4:21Speaker 6: the Hiducky Big Show with Keezy and Moggi Hoidy j
- 4:23Speaker 6: are currently off Sick with Yaki Yuki Tom Tam Siki
- 4:26Speaker 6: Siki bum Bum and also more text are coming in
- 4:29Speaker 6: on three four eight three. Where's Matt Heath gone because
- 4:32Speaker 6: he filled in for the first half an hour. The
- 4:34Speaker 6: executives basically came down and said, look, we tried, it
- 4:36Speaker 6: didn't work, so we've pulled Matt Heath off air. But
- 4:40Speaker 6: we are worried that it is due to news talk
- 4:43Speaker 6: z be you know that worried about us taking their ratings.
- 4:47Speaker 4: So but he should just stick to Breakfast, right, yeah, exactly.
- 4:54Speaker 6: Years indeed boners, good back boners, your mad owners, mad boners,
- 5:01Speaker 6: you mad boners. The crazy thing about Mate is such
- 5:04Speaker 6: a good broadcast that he can just slipped straight into
- 5:06Speaker 6: any show immediately. Yeah, pick up the leg go yeah, seamless, Yeah, seamlessly.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Let's get busy. Is how you do it? How you
- 5:14Speaker 4: go like this? I don't think that'll catch on you
- 5:26Speaker 4: guys can slip on his front boners in the morning.
- 5:28Speaker 6: That's a good shout man. What's coming up on the
- 5:30Speaker 6: show after five? What's what's on the telly with MONOGHI
- 5:34Speaker 6: is it about?
- 5:36Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the long teas is good, Yeah it is.
- 5:39Speaker 4: People will hang around for that will and they do
- 5:42Speaker 4: most popular things on the on the show, it really is.
- 5:44Speaker 6: What's actually coming up after five is I think I
- 5:47Speaker 6: need to apologize for Jase because I think he's actually
- 5:49Speaker 6: faking his saw tummy. I think it's actually something I
- 5:52Speaker 6: did yesterday before the show is the reason why he's
- 5:54Speaker 6: not here.
- 5:55Speaker 4: It was a scum bag move.
- 5:56Speaker 6: It was a real scumbag move from him. So I
- 5:58Speaker 6: would like to apologize for that, hopefully convince him to
- 6:00Speaker 6: come back. And Matt Heath will also be on the show.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Bag Mane.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I like it The Hiarchy Big Show weekdays from four
- 6:10Speaker 1: on Radio.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah, bet a royal blood for you. That'll wake
- 6:14Speaker 2: you up on a Thursday afternoon.
- 6:15Speaker 4: A key Sat Jays, whoa so good?
- 6:23Speaker 5: So it's the prescription medication kicking in.
- 6:26Speaker 2: It's good key, feel good.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Hey Jace, Well I've got you here. Man. Yeah.
- 6:34Speaker 6: We'll see in every single weekday here on Radio HURDARCHI,
- 6:37Speaker 6: my wife's going through something at work in the mid
- 6:40Speaker 6: and I know that you'll be able to help offer
- 6:43Speaker 6: some advice that could help. And it's basically and feel
- 6:46Speaker 6: free on three four eight three to that suggest some
- 6:47Speaker 6: advice to the issue she's having. Is she's recently started
- 6:50Speaker 6: a new job. She's been there about a month and
- 6:53Speaker 6: she's a very social person. The new workplace is hot, desking,
- 6:57Speaker 6: which means you have a laptop and when you walk
- 6:59Speaker 6: and it's just a big open space and you never
- 7:01Speaker 6: sit in the same disk and it's to the same
- 7:03Speaker 6: people every day. It's meant to make you more interactive
- 7:05Speaker 6: with the people around you, but what it actually does
- 7:07Speaker 6: is she hasn't got any workmates and she's struggling to
- 7:11Speaker 6: find new workmates because of this new situation, and because
- 7:15Speaker 6: you're really chummy with everyone around here at Hodaki, right.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Sure, man, Yeah, what guess some a bit of a
- 7:21Speaker 2: legend and people tend to want to hang around me
- 7:26Speaker 2: and that sort of stuff.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Kesy, Yeah, that's that's exactly what I'm saying. And I
- 7:29Speaker 4: like a bit of hot desking too, hot disking you hot?
- 7:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I do it a hot desking.
- 7:34Speaker 2: And let me just say before you carry on, I
- 7:37Speaker 2: would do anything for your wife, anything, and I want
- 7:43Speaker 2: that on the record, Keezy, and I've told it too,
- 7:48Speaker 2: I would do anything for your wife.
- 7:53Speaker 4: But carry on. That's great.
- 7:57Speaker 6: So the issue is, right, as I said, hot desking
- 8:01Speaker 6: doesn't really get a chance to establish relationships with anyone.
- 8:04Speaker 6: Sure you know, you're really chumming with everyone out there,
- 8:06Speaker 6: like the bloke who does our social what's his name again?
- 8:09Speaker 4: Help me out?
- 8:10Speaker 6: Pantsman, pants man Joel? Yeah, exactly, like you know you're
- 8:12Speaker 6: walking every day. You changed Joel and then the what's
- 8:14Speaker 6: the guy next to him again? Big dilly, Big dilly?
- 8:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:18Speaker 6: You know your mates with literally everyone, you know, you've
- 8:21Speaker 6: got nicknames for them and stuff.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Yeah, well I'm just that kind of guy. I think keys.
- 8:24Speaker 6: Is that the key though, because I'm saying I heard No,
- 8:26Speaker 6: there is something we could work on this and you
- 8:28Speaker 6: could potentially make some friends at work.
- 8:30Speaker 4: Do you have any advice?
- 8:30Speaker 2: Yeah, well you could do this sort of You could
- 8:32Speaker 2: take the league approach and do the mad Monday kind
- 8:34Speaker 2: of thing, you know, and just say, hey, look, let's
- 8:37Speaker 2: all go out for a few besies, just get just
- 8:41Speaker 2: get responsibly steamed. Yeah, and you know, you know what
- 8:44Speaker 2: it's like when you bond after a few beers and that, you.
- 8:48Speaker 4: Know what I mean? Why you know what happened to
- 8:49Speaker 4: us in Hamilton.
- 8:50Speaker 2: After we we had that bonding session and ended up
- 8:54Speaker 2: passionately making lap Ye I mean I don't mean that,
- 8:57Speaker 2: but you know, taking it outside the environment.
- 9:00Speaker 6: But there's like five hundred people on her one floor. Okay,
- 9:04Speaker 6: you know what I mean? So it's quite hot. That's
- 9:06Speaker 6: why it's so hard is because it's not a small
- 9:08Speaker 6: team late here at Hiducky. Yeah, sure, and so like
- 9:10Speaker 6: do you know did.
- 9:11Speaker 2: She could go up to them each individually and say
- 9:13Speaker 2: would you be my friend?
- 9:16Speaker 4: Do you reckon? That would work. There's no harm in asking.
- 9:19Speaker 4: What are they going to say?
- 9:20Speaker 2: Oh?
- 9:20Speaker 4: No, But to be honest, probably I don't think so.
- 9:23Speaker 4: They'd be into it. What mean your wife's lovely? No,
- 9:25Speaker 4: I know she is lovely.
- 9:26Speaker 6: Yeah, someone here suggesting on three four eight three water
- 9:29Speaker 6: cooler chat.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Yes, like hang next to the water fountain.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Ye, just don't just stay there the whole day. Set
- 9:34Speaker 2: up your hot desk next to the water cooler. Yeah,
- 9:37Speaker 2: it's a bloody good idea. Actually, okay, and just have
- 9:39Speaker 2: a bit of chit chat there.
- 9:41Speaker 4: I'll tell you what else she could do.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Yeah, what she did today for us beautiful baking. What
- 9:47Speaker 2: was that slice she made today?
- 9:48Speaker 4: That was a black forest chocolate slice? Bloody good.
- 9:51Speaker 5: Keys.
- 9:51Speaker 2: She could just make like a massive black forest slice, Yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 2: and just sort of walk around the crew offering you
- 9:58Speaker 2: a piece, and that way she could get into a
- 10:00Speaker 2: little bit of conversation, you know, at the same time.
- 10:02Speaker 6: Actually, that's a good tap yeh, because she's just struggling
- 10:06Speaker 6: and she just started a new role and I think
- 10:07Speaker 6: it's just adding to the stress of everything.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Don't get it to make that cake she made us
- 10:11Speaker 2: that time though, that was a bit dry.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Oh my birthday cake?
- 10:15Speaker 5: Yeah, your birthday cake?
- 10:17Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, the one she.
- 10:17Speaker 6: Heard about and then refused to bake from a year
- 10:20Speaker 6: Yeah that that.
- 10:21Speaker 2: After that, I didn't want to be a friend at all. Yeah,
- 10:23Speaker 2: so she got but the slice was beautiful.
- 10:26Speaker 6: Yeah cool right Yeah, Well, as I say, I mean,
- 10:27Speaker 6: this has all been really helpful. New role has been
- 10:29Speaker 6: really stressful. So she's you know, as you can imagine,
- 10:32Speaker 6: it just makes things harder, doesn't it.
- 10:33Speaker 4: So what what's your what's her role? She's been brought
- 10:39Speaker 4: into basically sack half the workforce?
- 10:41Speaker 1: The Hdarchy Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Kesey.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Jamee and Parlor there on the radio Honkey Big Show.
- 10:49Speaker 2: That was quite embarrassing, actually, Keys, he just went for
- 10:51Speaker 2: wheeze And as I went through Studio B, Pugs isn't
- 10:53Speaker 2: wearing any pants.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah he does that sometimes he does. Yeah, okay,
- 10:58Speaker 4: cool because he was eating something earlier and he spilt
- 11:01Speaker 4: it on his pants. Oh is that what it was?
- 11:02Speaker 4: And so then he cleans it in the sink and
- 11:04Speaker 4: then just lets them dry.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Oh right, it looks like he's done wheeze otherwise, Yeah, yeah,
- 11:08Speaker 2: I think he did.
- 11:09Speaker 6: He probably did last night at your house. You know
- 11:12Speaker 6: how you've just got the heat pump. Yeah, man, did
- 11:15Speaker 6: you leave it on overnight? Yeah, totally all night long.
- 11:17Speaker 6: And we've had it on all day to day as well.
- 11:19Speaker 6: Same here, crazy man, crazy, And yeah, I will say
- 11:22Speaker 6: this to my wife. You know, winter's finally here. Way,
- 11:26Speaker 6: I was like, winter is definitely finally here. We are
- 11:28Speaker 6: in the depths of winter. It's July now, and I
- 11:31Speaker 6: was saying, hurt, I reckon last night in Auckland. Yes,
- 11:34Speaker 6: coldest in the entire country.
- 11:36Speaker 4: Oh, without question, had to have been, without question. Geezie.
- 11:40Speaker 5: And the funny thing is, you know, you hear other people.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Around the country banging on about how cold it is
- 11:44Speaker 2: where they are. Yeah, you've got to look at the science, man,
- 11:47Speaker 2: and the science will tell you that Auckland is the
- 11:50Speaker 2: coldest city in the country, without.
- 11:51Speaker 4: Question, by a country mile. Yeah, like other science man.
- 11:55Speaker 4: Last night, for example, I was on the phone one
- 11:57Speaker 4: of my mates.
- 11:58Speaker 6: Yeah, and he was our God, it's cold down here
- 12:00Speaker 6: in christ Church, And I was like, well, hang about
- 12:02Speaker 6: what about I'm an Auckland mate. Yeah, you know what
- 12:05Speaker 6: I mean, Like overnight in Auckland it is the coldest
- 12:08Speaker 6: and I know, like Auckland's our biggest city, it would
- 12:10Speaker 6: be even bigger if the weather wasn't so cold in winter.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Oh mate, I'll be honest with you.
- 12:15Speaker 2: The truth of the matter is everyone would want to
- 12:17Speaker 2: live in Auckland if it wasn't for the cold weather.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly. You know what I mean.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Everyone that lives in every other city outside of Auckland,
- 12:24Speaker 2: they don't want to be there, no, But the only
- 12:27Speaker 2: reason they want that, they actually want to be in Auckland,
- 12:29Speaker 2: which is the great city.
- 12:30Speaker 4: It's the best place to live in your best.
- 12:32Speaker 5: Place to live, without question, and people know that.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Yes, the only thing that's prohibitive is the fact that
- 12:38Speaker 2: it is so cold in comparison to the rest of
- 12:40Speaker 2: the country.
- 12:41Speaker 4: That's right.
- 12:41Speaker 6: So, like, for example, midwinter, one thing I like to
- 12:44Speaker 6: do is quite often we'll fly down to christ Church, yeah,
- 12:46Speaker 6: just to get warm up, to get away from the
- 12:49Speaker 6: ridiculous coolness.
- 12:50Speaker 4: That is Auckland. At night.
- 12:51Speaker 5: Yeah, totally.
- 12:52Speaker 6: I'm spending a fortune on puffer jackets. Yes, you know
- 12:54Speaker 6: what I mean.
- 12:55Speaker 2: So to be honest, mate, my hot water blanket, your
- 12:59Speaker 2: hot water blanket, yeah, my electric blanket that's on twenty
- 13:03Speaker 2: four to seven in my household. It gets so cold
- 13:06Speaker 2: in my house, even with the heat pump and the
- 13:08Speaker 2: fire going. Yeah, and I've got my puffer jacket on
- 13:11Speaker 2: and all that stuff, and then I sometimes I just
- 13:13Speaker 2: have to snuggle into bed with the you know, the
- 13:15Speaker 2: electric blanket on just to get through the chill.
- 13:18Speaker 4: Men.
- 13:19Speaker 6: And it's like, look, this is just the reality of
- 13:21Speaker 6: living in Auckland. If I wanted to not put up
- 13:23Speaker 6: with this, sure I might move to like Wellington or something.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:26Speaker 6: Yeah, But at the end of the day, I want
- 13:27Speaker 6: to be in Auckland because it's the greatest place in
- 13:28Speaker 6: New Zealand.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Two.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Well, it's pluses and minuses, isn't it exactly it.
- 13:31Speaker 2: It's like, you know, I can go and live in Wellington.
- 13:33Speaker 2: I'll hate it, but it might be warmer. But I
- 13:37Speaker 2: guess on the positive side, it'll be warmer, or I
- 13:39Speaker 2: might want to, I mean, worst case scenario, go and
- 13:44Speaker 2: live in the South Island somewhere yeah, you know what
- 13:46Speaker 2: I mean.
- 13:46Speaker 4: I mean, if things got really bad.
- 13:48Speaker 6: It's like living in the tropics almost too much.
- 13:51Speaker 5: Yeah, so it's always doing and frying.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Yeah yeah. But as I say, I'm.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Convinced that if Auckland was warmer than it actually is
- 13:59Speaker 2: and wasn't the cold city in the country, everyone would
- 14:01Speaker 2: be here.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:02Speaker 2: So in a way, it's kind of a blessing in disguising,
- 14:05Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 14:05Speaker 6: Absolutely, whenever I go down, like I say, down South
- 14:08Speaker 6: Duned and whatever, they're like, Man, I'd love to live
- 14:10Speaker 6: in Auckland.
- 14:10Speaker 4: It's my dream place to live. But it's too cold there.
- 14:13Speaker 2: The last time, we're in Deneen and we're in the
- 14:15Speaker 2: Upton and that dude was like, god, it's freezing and
- 14:17Speaker 2: was like whatever you lose it.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Yeah, God, we're northern men. What's a hot water blanket?
- 14:23Speaker 4: By the way, I need to.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Look into it say that it's an electric blank Oh right, yeah, Okay.
- 14:28Speaker 1: The hold Aching Big Show with Jason, Mike and Kezy
- 14:31Speaker 1: tune in week days at four on Radio HODAKEI
