Latest / Foul Territory / Ken Rosenthal’s Inside Scoop: Trade market update, Braves land Kim, Where will Japan’s top talent sign?
Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: After senior insider Ken Rosenthal is here. Ken your thoughts
- 0:08Speaker 1: on the Braves doing this during the season to help
- 0:11Speaker 1: them get what they want in the offseason, including Hasan Kim.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I'm not sure how much of an effect that had
- 0:18Speaker 2: certainly couldn't hurt they got to know him.
- 0:20Speaker 3: From that perspective, yes, it helps because you.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Take a look at a player, you kind of see
- 0:25Speaker 2: what he's about, and then you decide, Okay, if he
- 0:28Speaker 2: gets the free agency, which he almost certainly would have,
- 0:30Speaker 2: he was going to decline that player option, then we
- 0:33Speaker 2: get back in. So from that perspective, yes, from Kim's perspective,
- 0:38Speaker 2: he did decline the player option and he got four
- 0:41Speaker 2: million dollars more out of it, so I'm sure he
- 0:44Speaker 2: got a little bit of a sense of what it's
- 0:46Speaker 2: like to be in Atlanta Brave. He is close with
- 0:48Speaker 2: Profar so that helps too. But if he had gotten
- 0:52Speaker 2: a commanding multi year offer on the market that he
- 0:55Speaker 2: liked from a team he liked, he probably would.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Have taken that.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Now it was reported that he received multi year offers,
- 1:01Speaker 2: and I believe that, but maybe he just feels, hey,
- 1:04Speaker 2: I'll do the one year at twenty, go back out
- 1:06Speaker 2: in the market.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Scott Boris has had success with a number of.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Players doing this lately, Peter A. Lonzo being the most recent,
- 1:14Speaker 2: So maybe Kim can see himself in that same light.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Is this indicative of the shortstop market and how thin
- 1:23Speaker 4: it is the fact that he was clearly the best
- 1:26Speaker 4: defensive shortstop in the market. In my opinion, twenty million
- 1:30Speaker 4: is a tremendous amount for a defensive not only but
- 1:34Speaker 4: essentially just a defensive shortstop.
- 1:37Speaker 2: It is a lot, But at the same time, Eric,
- 1:39Speaker 2: it's one year, and it is a guy who in
- 1:42Speaker 2: San Diego his last year there, I believe was an
- 1:45Speaker 2: offensive force as well. So if he has the kind
- 1:48Speaker 2: of year that hash On Kim has shown he can
- 1:51Speaker 2: have before, that's a.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Pretty valuable player.
- 1:54Speaker 2: And twenty million for that kind of player is probably
- 1:58Speaker 2: not a bad rate at all. Teams look at War
- 2:02Speaker 2: and this is a little bit outdated now, but it
- 2:04Speaker 2: used to be one War was worth eight million in
- 2:07Speaker 2: free agency. I think it's more like nine or ten now,
- 2:09Speaker 2: maybe even higher than that.
- 2:11Speaker 3: So two War.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Player, three War player, twenty million.
- 2:15Speaker 3: That makes some sense.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Ken, Let's get to the Padres and the Mets and
- 2:21Speaker 1: anyone else involved here. I'm going to try and take
- 2:23Speaker 1: the San Diego spin first. I loved what you talked
- 2:27Speaker 1: about with Aj Prewler the other day on fair territory
- 2:29Speaker 1: and how he's fun to keep up with because he's
- 2:31Speaker 1: all over the place when you try and get to
- 2:34Speaker 1: someone like this to be like, focus, what do you
- 2:35Speaker 1: think we're actually going to do here? What are you
- 2:38Speaker 1: seeing hearing in terms of what they'll do. I know
- 2:40Speaker 1: you were shooting down Tatisan Machado as anything in a
- 2:44Speaker 1: trade talk, but there are a lot of other impact
- 2:46Speaker 1: players on that roster.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Right and Scott using the word fun to describe what
- 2:52Speaker 2: it's like to cover AJ Prewler, that's one word. Frustrating
- 2:56Speaker 2: is another word. Difficult is another word, because he does
- 2:59Speaker 2: so many things or is involved in so many conversations
- 3:02Speaker 2: at once, and all teams are, but it seems to
- 3:04Speaker 2: me that he takes it almost to another level. Now,
- 3:08Speaker 2: as I reported with Will Simon and Dennis Lynn, Tatis
- 3:11Speaker 2: is not available and Lindora is not going to the Padres,
- 3:15Speaker 2: so people can forget about that. But you ask which
- 3:17Speaker 2: names are in play. Nick Pavetta is certainly a guy
- 3:22Speaker 2: the Padres are talking about, and you might say well, wait,
- 3:24Speaker 2: they've lost Dylan Cees, They're probably going to lose Michael King.
- 3:28Speaker 2: You Darvish is out for the season. Why are they
- 3:29Speaker 2: trading Nick Pavetta? And the answer would be simply that
- 3:34Speaker 2: if they can turn Nick Pavetta into two younger pitchers
- 3:37Speaker 2: or something else that can get them young pitching, that's
- 3:40Speaker 2: what they would want to do.
- 3:41Speaker 3: They need multiples.
- 3:43Speaker 2: So Pavetta is one name, Mason Miller is another name,
- 3:46Speaker 2: Ramo Loreato a third, and there's two other relievers that
- 3:50Speaker 2: we've heard as well, and these are.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Just some of the names in the Mets conversations.
- 3:54Speaker 2: That's Jeremiah Estrada and Adrian Morey Jane. So these teams
- 3:59Speaker 2: have been talking, there's no question about that, and that
- 4:03Speaker 2: doesn't mean a deal is going to come to pass,
- 4:05Speaker 2: and it mean that it isn't.
- 4:07Speaker 3: What I imagine and.
- 4:09Speaker 2: What the Mets know is that Preller is talking to
- 4:12Speaker 2: twenty eight other teams as well, and he's simply trying
- 4:15Speaker 2: to put together the best possible equation for his club.
- 4:19Speaker 2: It doesn't seem like he wants to go backwards in payroll,
- 4:21Speaker 2: but it also seems that he can't go up. So
- 4:24Speaker 2: if he's going to add players at money, he's going
- 4:28Speaker 2: to have to subtract somewhere as well, and that seems
- 4:31Speaker 2: to be.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Where this is.
- 4:32Speaker 2: But if you're going to ask me to predict how
- 4:34Speaker 2: this all might play out, I have no idea.
- 4:38Speaker 4: It is there a chance that the Padres can take
- 4:41Speaker 4: a step back because he said, you don't want to
- 4:43Speaker 4: take a step back in a sense of payroll, but
- 4:46Speaker 4: how things are working out injuries, the possibility of needing
- 4:49Speaker 4: to maybe drop a little payroll with all the moves
- 4:53Speaker 4: they made at the trade deadline, are they okay taking
- 4:56Speaker 4: a step back for this season? Because we saw that
- 4:59Speaker 4: earlier with ajp early in his career when he brought
- 5:03Speaker 4: in all these guys and then he had to get
- 5:04Speaker 4: rid of some of them to then build for the
- 5:07Speaker 4: next season. Is that a possibility? As he said, no,
- 5:09Speaker 4: I'm keeping pedal to the medal win this year, next
- 5:12Speaker 4: year and the following years.
- 5:14Speaker 2: He hasn't said either, But my expectation, Eric is that
- 5:19Speaker 2: he wants to keep going and keep competing. That is
- 5:21Speaker 2: his personality. He is in a different situation now than
- 5:25Speaker 2: he was in those early years. This is a team
- 5:28Speaker 2: that draws three million, It's a huge force in San
- 5:32Speaker 2: Diego incredible success story from that perspective alone, and they
- 5:37Speaker 2: intend to compete. And Aj Preller is a competitive dude
- 5:40Speaker 2: and he wants to compete. So I don't see them
- 5:43Speaker 2: taking a step back. And if you'll take a look
- 5:45Speaker 2: at it, think about it. They've got Machado, Tatis and
- 5:48Speaker 2: Bogart's to huge contracts. Why would you be taking a
- 5:51Speaker 2: step back with those guys still in play for you?
- 5:55Speaker 3: So I don't see it happening now.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Maybe in a couple of years when Machado and Bogarts
- 5:59Speaker 2: are that much older, you think about such a thing,
- 6:02Speaker 2: and maybe they would love to offload a Bogart's contract
- 6:05Speaker 2: right now. But it's for us taking a step back.
- 6:08Speaker 2: That's not what I see them doing at all.
- 6:13Speaker 1: For all the parents out there with teenagers like crats,

- 7:14Speaker 5: Speaking of competing, the Tigers go out and sign Kenley Jansen.
- 7:17Speaker 5: Does that potentially change their plans with Trek Scuble? Are
- 7:20Speaker 5: they going for it this year? They got a legit
- 7:23Speaker 5: closer at the back end or TVD.
- 7:27Speaker 2: TVD and the way it works, Kevin, you know this
- 7:30Speaker 2: too from just your year's plan. Teams are going to
- 7:33Speaker 2: look at everything and if they trade Tarrek Schooble, it
- 7:37Speaker 2: would be with the idea of still competing in twenty
- 7:40Speaker 2: twenty six, they wouldn't be in their minds going backwards.
- 7:44Speaker 2: They've signed Finnegan, they've signed Jansen now, and they want
- 7:48Speaker 2: to win now. The best way to win for twenty
- 7:51Speaker 2: twenty six is with Trek's scouble. But if they can put.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Together a package, it's the same thing we were talking
- 7:57Speaker 3: about with Paveta.
- 7:58Speaker 2: If you can turn them into multiple guys who can
- 8:01Speaker 2: help you short and long term, then you at least
- 8:04Speaker 2: consider it now. It's got to be a big package.
- 8:06Speaker 2: It's Trek Scooble two times cy Young winner back to
- 8:09Speaker 2: back years, but it is one year of Trek's schoobl
- 8:12Speaker 2: so that's going to depress it somewhat. And if they
- 8:15Speaker 2: can get this monster kind of return, maybe, but I
- 8:20Speaker 2: still believe that trade is.
- 8:22Speaker 3: A long shot.
- 8:23Speaker 5: Okay, speaking of trades, the Phillies go on sign of
- 8:26Speaker 5: Dolas Garcia. I'm guessing the days of Nick Castiano's wearing
- 8:30Speaker 5: a Phillies uniform are coming to an end. What are
- 8:33Speaker 5: you hearing about him? Where he could end up? Is
- 8:35Speaker 5: this gonna be a situation They're probably gonna have to
- 8:37Speaker 5: eat some money in order to get something done.
- 8:40Speaker 2: To the last question, the answer is yes and Castellanos
- 8:43Speaker 2: is a guy who has had some good moments with
- 8:46Speaker 2: the Phillies, no question about that, but it seemed to
- 8:48Speaker 2: sour last year, and there's no question, no doubt that
- 8:52Speaker 2: he will not be on their roster in twenty twenty six.
- 8:55Speaker 2: They have acquired a Dolice Garcia. They've signed him for
- 8:59Speaker 2: ten years, million dollars, and Dave Dombrowski has basically said
- 9:02Speaker 2: our outfield is set, told reporters that today in Philadelphia,
- 9:06Speaker 2: Solis Garcia will be in right, marsh in I'm sorry,
- 9:11Speaker 2: Justin Crawford, the rookie in center and marsh and a
- 9:13Speaker 2: platoon partner perhaps in left. That's the way they're going
- 9:17Speaker 2: to go about this. And Nick Castianos is not part
- 9:20Speaker 2: of their plans.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Where he ends up, I don't know.
- 9:23Speaker 2: He is someone that if they pay enough money down,
- 9:27Speaker 2: you can probably send them pretty much anywhere.
- 9:29Speaker 3: But we'll see how this all plays out.
- 9:32Speaker 4: All right, let's go to the Japanese market in Munitaka.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Morikami has kind of been silent. We're not sure what's
- 9:40Speaker 4: going on ever since, especially ever since we saw the
- 9:43Speaker 4: stat that he's hit oh ninety five on fastballs, which
- 9:47Speaker 4: I heard from somebody that that was maybe a little overblown.
- 9:50Speaker 4: That he does hit over he does hit fastballs over
- 9:53Speaker 4: ninety three miles an hour, But what is his market
- 9:56Speaker 4: looking like, because if they think his power will we'll
- 10:00Speaker 4: duplicate into the big leagues. It's eighty power by some scouts.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Right, And this is the question with Murakami, and I
- 10:09Speaker 2: wrote about this yesterday basically saying he's the biggest mystery
- 10:12Speaker 2: in the market.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Because we don't hear or haven't heard.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Many teams involved doesn't mean that there are teams that
- 10:19Speaker 2: are not involved.
- 10:20Speaker 3: We just don't know where this is right now.
- 10:23Speaker 2: And sometimes these negotiations with Japanese players and other players too,
- 10:27Speaker 2: you just don't hear much about the teams involved. We
- 10:29Speaker 2: haven't frankly heard much about Okamoto or am I either
- 10:33Speaker 2: in terms of teams. So that said, Murakami is a
- 10:38Speaker 2: guy who, yes, as you said, Eric, eighty power, but
- 10:41Speaker 2: serious concerns about the swing and mis tendencies.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Now.
- 10:45Speaker 3: I wrote in my notes column.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Otani ages eighteen to twenty two seasons had an even
- 10:50Speaker 2: higher strikeout rate in Japan than Murakami has in his career.
- 10:54Speaker 2: But if you look at Saya Suzuki, his strikeout rate
- 10:57Speaker 2: in Japan was much lower than Murakami's, and he is
- 11:00Speaker 2: been a successful major league hitter, so more Kami is
- 11:04Speaker 2: something of a boom or bust guy, at least in
- 11:07Speaker 2: the eyes of clubs. Do I expect he's going to
- 11:09Speaker 2: get a deal by Monday at five pm ET, that's
- 11:13Speaker 2: the deadline for his forty five day negotiating window to expire.
- 11:17Speaker 3: I do expect he's going to be a major league player.
- 11:20Speaker 3: I couldn't predict where, and I know I'm saying a
- 11:23Speaker 3: lot of I can't predict.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I don't know, But guess what, guys, I don't know
- 11:26Speaker 2: and I can't predict, and I'm not gonna lie and
- 11:28Speaker 2: make up stuff.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Is there is there a certain player that each of
- 11:32Speaker 4: those you talked about, uh Okamato anyway, I say I'm
- 11:38Speaker 4: wrong every time a Kamoto a Kamoto, thank you, Ken
- 11:41Speaker 4: never gets it wrong, So I'm always jealous of that.
- 11:44Speaker 4: Is there a person in the market. Is there a
- 11:47Speaker 4: current big league free agent in the market that they're
- 11:50Speaker 4: waiting to see, Okay, because of this left handed power
- 11:54Speaker 4: hitter where he lands that will affect more Kami? Is
- 11:58Speaker 4: this you know? Is there somebody for a Kamoto also.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Yes, and certainly when you look at the entirety of
- 12:07Speaker 2: the market. Bregman is a third baseman, and Morikami and
- 12:11Speaker 2: Akamoto both play third, seemingly first and not great defenders
- 12:15Speaker 2: from what we've heard in either.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Spot, So that affects it. But also Dellinger affects it.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Are not obeying out there affects it as a trade possibility.
- 12:25Speaker 2: All of these things come into play, and it puts
- 12:28Speaker 2: pressure on the agents for these players to get something
- 12:32Speaker 2: done because there is a deadline in effect, and when
- 12:35Speaker 2: these other players are out there unsigned or not traded,
- 12:38Speaker 2: it does complicate things.
- 12:39Speaker 3: I forgot Boba Schett, He's another one. So all of this.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Comes into play. And yes, Eric, I think you're reading
- 12:46Speaker 2: it correctly here that I don't know if the word
- 12:49Speaker 2: blocked is the correct word to use. But there is
- 12:53Speaker 2: obstruction I guess for these guys to some extent because
- 12:56Speaker 2: other Major league phragans are still available.
- 13:00Speaker 5: You had wrote about it, and it had just come
- 13:01Speaker 5: out about Kutel Marte's no trade list teams. He came
- 13:05Speaker 5: up with his limited no trade team. Any surprises there
- 13:08Speaker 5: is it going to affect his trade market at all?
- 13:12Speaker 2: I don't expect it to affect it, and the whole
- 13:14Speaker 2: thing was a surprise, honestly, and I know a lot
- 13:16Speaker 2: of fans responded to the story saying, how did he
- 13:19Speaker 2: come up with this list? I have no idea how
- 13:21Speaker 2: he came up with the list. I just published the
- 13:24Speaker 2: list after I got it. It's kind of a random
- 13:26Speaker 2: collection of teams. It's the A's and the Giants, It's
- 13:29Speaker 2: the Yankees, the Cardinals, and the Pirates.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Of those teams, the.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Giants were the one that might have been in the
- 13:36Speaker 2: market because he is someone that plays a position where
- 13:39Speaker 2: they have a severe need second base. But whether the
- 13:42Speaker 2: Giants were going to accomplish a trade in division with
- 13:45Speaker 2: the Diamondbacks was always a question anyway. I guess the
- 13:49Speaker 2: Pirates could be a possibility, but that's not necessarily likely either,
- 13:53Speaker 2: So no real surprises there. I don't expect it to
- 13:57Speaker 2: have much of an effect Kevin. The real question is
- 14:00Speaker 2: will he be traded? Will some team meet the Diamondbacks price?
- 14:04Speaker 2: And it's going to be a high price, because, as
- 14:07Speaker 2: I wrote, by some estimates, the surplus value on this
- 14:10Speaker 2: contract could be one hundred million. That contract is so
- 14:13Speaker 2: attractive to teams it makes him that much more valuable.
- 14:17Speaker 2: On top of he is a really productive player, one
- 14:20Speaker 2: of the best at his position in the sport.
- 14:23Speaker 4: One of the things you wrote about was the Nats
- 14:25Speaker 4: reluctance to possibly trade cj Abrams. Is that still the
- 14:30Speaker 4: case today with Hashun Kim now going off the market
- 14:34Speaker 4: and another you know, him being a shortstop. What other
- 14:37Speaker 4: shortstops are available for teams?
- 14:40Speaker 2: It seems to me the Nats want to see what
- 14:43Speaker 2: cj Abrams can do over the next year or so
- 14:46Speaker 2: and see if he can improve under their new system,
- 14:49Speaker 2: their new president base operations, new manager, new coaching staff entirely,
- 14:54Speaker 2: and their new president of baseball Operations, Paul Taboni, has
- 14:58Speaker 2: spoken repeatedly how he feels that these players, some of
- 15:03Speaker 2: their young players, including Gore, Mackenzie Gore, and cj Abrams,
- 15:07Speaker 2: have another gear. And if you believe they have another gear,
- 15:10Speaker 2: if you believe cj Abrams in particular can improve defensively, well,
- 15:15Speaker 2: then maybe the value is that much higher at the
- 15:18Speaker 2: deadline or next off season when you'd still have the
- 15:21Speaker 2: ability to trade them. So it's going to be really
- 15:24Speaker 2: interesting to see what they do here with Gore. My
- 15:26Speaker 2: opinion is that they should trade him. To me, it's
- 15:29Speaker 2: a risk to take any picture into the season knowing
- 15:32Speaker 2: he might get hurt, or he might not perform as
- 15:35Speaker 2: well as you would want and his value would suffer.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Right now, Mackenzie Gore is healthy. He is a guy
- 15:41Speaker 2: with two years of control left. It seems to me
- 15:44Speaker 2: now's the time to capitalize with Abrams. There's an extra year,
- 15:48Speaker 2: and maybe you wait a little bit and just see
- 15:51Speaker 2: if his value will increase, and maybe, hey, if his
- 15:54Speaker 2: value increases that much, you resign him. I don't expect this,
- 15:57Speaker 2: but you extend him and go about it that way.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Ken, good stuff. We'll talk to you later in the week.
- 16:04Speaker 1: We'll also hear from you on fair territory later in
- 16:07Speaker 1: the week.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Sounds good. Thanks.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I love that there are quite a few rumors flowing
- 16:17Speaker 1: and we're waiting for more trade activity. That is the
- 16:20Speaker 1: one thing that I'll point out. I expected more. I
- 16:22Speaker 1: felt like some insiders were teasing that that was going
- 16:25Speaker 1: to be a major route early in the off season,
- 16:27Speaker 1: and we haven't seen a ton. Let's start with Brendan Donovan.
- 16:33Speaker 1: The Mariners and Giants have emerged as front runners in
- 16:37Speaker 1: a potential trade for him. According to Katie Wu, we've
- 16:41Speaker 1: got two teams that are looking like finalists. You never
- 16:44Speaker 1: know another team could jump in. The Royals were mentioned
- 16:47Speaker 1: in the year, or maybe it was in Ken's column
- 16:49Speaker 1: as a team that's very interested in someone like Donovan
- 16:52Speaker 1: as well. I would imagine almost any team would be
- 16:54Speaker 1: interested in him, although it helps if you have a
- 16:56Speaker 1: really nice opening over at second base. Man, if I'm
- 17:02Speaker 1: one of these teams, I'm going for it. I'm going hard.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I'm a big fan. We were sitting with Olie Marmal
- 17:07Speaker 1: and I'll say it for him. It sounds like Donovan
- 17:09Speaker 1: is his favorite player. You know, he lit up when
- 17:13Speaker 1: we asked about him versus anyone else. Plus, you're getting
- 17:17Speaker 1: versatility on base percentage and someone who seems like the
- 17:21Speaker 1: tools I mean, KP. It's not like he's, you know,
- 17:24Speaker 1: eighty grade on every tool, but every tool is at
- 17:28Speaker 1: least average. And then he's just an on base machine
- 17:31Speaker 1: and seems like he's an unphased and would be someone
- 17:34Speaker 1: that I'd want into trenches for a playoff series. He
- 17:37Speaker 1: seemed like he'd be that pest who's getting on for
- 17:39Speaker 1: someone like let's say it's the Mariners, Julio or cal
- 17:42Speaker 1: to turn a solo into a two rug shot.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I like to refer to those guys as an
- 17:47Speaker 5: eighty great sixth tool.
- 17:48Speaker 4: It's the heart.
- 17:50Speaker 5: He just plays the game the right way. You know,
- 17:52Speaker 5: there's certain guys that the some of their parts is
- 17:55Speaker 5: greater than the hole. Like he he he doesn't have
- 17:58Speaker 5: the plus skills any where. He is not going to
- 18:00Speaker 5: grade off the table. But his collection of skills plus
- 18:04Speaker 5: his heart makes him a very, very valuable player. And
- 18:09Speaker 5: you know, we need to get more former gms on this.
- 18:12Speaker 5: The last time we were on that was on and
- 18:13Speaker 5: I'd love to just hear more about these conversations, like
- 18:17Speaker 5: what is the hold up? The Cardinals are obviously in
- 18:20Speaker 5: a point in time where you know, they're kind of retooling.
- 18:23Speaker 5: They're getting rid of some guys that have value. They're
- 18:25Speaker 5: trying to bring in, you know, the max returns for
- 18:28Speaker 5: kind of building for a couple of years from now,
- 18:30Speaker 5: new front office.
- 18:32Speaker 4: You know, what's the hold up?
- 18:33Speaker 5: If you're one of these two teams that has a
- 18:35Speaker 5: vacancy at second base is trying to win, you love,
- 18:39Speaker 5: you know, you hear all these teams and gms talk
- 18:41Speaker 5: about versatility. Brandon Donovan is a Swiss army knife. You
- 18:45Speaker 5: could play him pretty much anywhere on the diamond.
- 18:47Speaker 3: He's gonna give you.
- 18:48Speaker 5: A grade at bat. I don't know what the hold
- 18:50Speaker 5: up is, Like, what do these conversations look like? Like, yeah,
- 18:54Speaker 5: we want them? What are you willing to give up?
- 18:55Speaker 4: Here is no? Yes?
- 18:57Speaker 2: No?
- 18:57Speaker 5: Like, how does it take so long?
- 18:58Speaker 2: You know?
- 18:58Speaker 5: It's like negotiating with my five year olds?
- 19:01Speaker 1: Sometimes it's worse. Yeah, these guys just nickel and dime
- 19:08Speaker 1: all day long and then they come around to what
- 19:10Speaker 1: they both always would have done. But it's just the
- 19:13Speaker 1: way that business goes down these days. I'm with you, Like,
- 19:15Speaker 1: if I'm Seattle, I'm like, yo, I want to get
- 19:17Speaker 1: this done today. I'm replacing Jorge Polanco. He's beloved there,
- 19:21Speaker 1: we went after him. I actually think Donovan might end
- 19:23Speaker 1: up a better player for them over the course of
- 19:25Speaker 1: the next couple of years. Definitely a much younger player too.
- 19:28Speaker 1: So anyway, we'll circle back to that bet MGM Futures
- 19:32Speaker 1: World Series winner. The Mariners are getting thirteen to one odds.
- 19:37Speaker 3: KP.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Kratz as a sucker for anything that's double digit odds.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Double digit to one, right, so this is essentially thirteen
- 19:43Speaker 1: to one. You can thirteen x your money. If the
- 19:46Speaker 1: Mariners win. The World Series is coming up this upcoming season.
- 19:50Speaker 1: This is not a bad place to play. They have
- 19:52Speaker 1: the pitching talent. They actually have a top five farm
- 19:55Speaker 1: system right now. It doesn't always play out that way
- 19:57Speaker 1: in the major leagues, but that's certainly a good thing.
- 19:59Speaker 1: They brought Anler back, they tried to bring Polanco back.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I think they're going to trade for someone I hope
- 20:03Speaker 1: they get for their purposes, either Donovan or can Tell Marte.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I think that'd be a huge boost for their offense.
- 20:09Speaker 1: So this isn't crazy.
- 20:11Speaker 5: He yeah, blessing in disguise. When I moved to the
- 20:13Speaker 5: state of Texas, I could no longer bet on my
- 20:15Speaker 5: app anymore. And it's a good thing because, much like Kratz,
- 20:19Speaker 5: I love big returns on my small bets, so I'm
- 20:22Speaker 5: all in on this number. I would hammer it, especially
- 20:26Speaker 5: before they go and get Brandon Donovan, because I think
- 20:27Speaker 5: it brings the number down a little bit. But I
- 20:29Speaker 5: love thirteen xing my money.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Mm hmm. I don't win much.
- 20:35Speaker 5: I don't win much, but I take the bet because
- 20:38Speaker 5: when it does hit that one time, God, it feels
- 20:40Speaker 5: so good.
- 20:41Speaker 1: It makes up for a lot of other bets that
- 20:43Speaker 1: don't do as well. I'll tell you that you throw
- 20:45Speaker 1: a hondo down on the Mariners. Krats. We did Phillies yesterday.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I like this one better.
- 20:51Speaker 4: I mean I like the number a lot better. I'm
- 20:53Speaker 4: getting three hundred extra dollars. The Phillies were at plus
- 20:57Speaker 4: one thousand, and I like that, and the Mariners are
- 21:00Speaker 4: thirteen to one. And I disagree with you, Scott. You
- 21:03Speaker 4: said they have a top five minor league system and
- 21:05Speaker 4: that doesn't necessarily equate to wins in the big leagues.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Completely disagree. Because Brennan Donovan equates to wins in the
- 21:14Speaker 4: big leagues, Katel Marte equates the wins in the big leagues.
- 21:17Speaker 4: That's your top five minor league system. You don't have
- 21:20Speaker 4: to give Bryce Miller up for Brennan Donovan. I don't
- 21:24Speaker 4: think the Cardinals are at that situation now. If you're
- 21:28Speaker 4: going with the Diamondbacks, I think the Diamondbacks still believe
- 21:30Speaker 4: their window to win is now because of you know,
- 21:34Speaker 4: where they're at with Corbyn Carroll, where they're at with
- 21:36Speaker 4: young guys coming up through the system, and they have
- 21:39Speaker 4: Corbyn Burns. So I think there's a difference in who
- 21:43Speaker 4: you trade for, but the minor league system, if it
- 21:46Speaker 4: nets Katel Marte or Brennan Donovan, that is immediate impact
- 21:53Speaker 4: and that number will only go down because you know,
- 21:57Speaker 4: you add a piece like that to a lineup that
- 21:59Speaker 4: was darving for offense and got Nailor and Aohennio Suarez
- 22:05Speaker 4: resigned Nailor for a whole season. I really like this team,
- 22:10Speaker 4: especially at thirteen to.
- 22:11Speaker 3: One mm hmmm, I like it.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Hey, And if you're trying to throw it down right now,
- 22:16Speaker 1: football is the sport or basketball or hockey you're flowing
- 22:19Speaker 1: right now, you can actually just pick where you want
- 22:21Speaker 1: to go in any sport. Parlay Boost Token bet MGM
