- 0:00Speaker 1: There's some inspiring here in a bunch of horrifying. It's
- 0:03Speaker 1: one more thing I'm strong.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Thing inspiring horrifying.
- 0:13Speaker 1: The fabulous Barry Weiss of the Free Press. I did
- 0:17Speaker 1: at an interview recently with Leland Viddert, who is a
- 0:21Speaker 1: longtime Middle East correspondent for Fox News, and I believe
- 0:25Speaker 1: he is with the News Nation now.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Is that right?
- 0:28Speaker 1: He's recently come out publicly that he is on the
- 0:33Speaker 1: autism spectrum or is autistic, or has autism, whatever you're
- 0:36Speaker 1: supposed to say these days, I don't know, and has
- 0:40Speaker 1: described how he has dealt with it and gotten beyond it.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Really interesting and inspiring stuff. I can't wait to read it,
- 0:48Speaker 1: as there's autism in my family more than a little.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Really an amazing guy and really cool. But he was
- 0:56Speaker 1: talking to Barry Weiss about the Middle East and God
- 1:00Speaker 1: in Israel. And here's a little snippet of her excellent
- 1:04Speaker 1: conversation with.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Him twenty twelve. I'm a foreign correspondent for Fox and
- 1:09Speaker 3: you know, normally you're when you're based in Jerusalem, you're
- 1:11Speaker 3: covering suicide bombings, you're covering protests in the West Bank
- 1:15Speaker 3: of riots in the West Bank on and on and
- 1:16Speaker 3: on because of the Arab Spring, I really hadn't spent
- 1:18Speaker 3: that much time in Israel, and the Palestine Israeli conflict
- 1:21Speaker 3: was not a thing those years. There's been a couple
- 1:23Speaker 3: of Gaza skirmishes, but there was the Glad Shalite deal
- 1:27Speaker 3: where there was an Israeli soldier who had been held
- 1:30Speaker 3: hostage and traded from Gaza to Israel for a thousand
- 1:34Speaker 3: guys and prisoners an including Sinowar and including a woman
- 1:40Speaker 3: named Waffa. And Wafa had been a woman in the
- 1:44Speaker 3: West Bank or woman in Gaza. She had pulled a
- 1:46Speaker 3: pot of boiling water over herself when she was like
- 1:48Speaker 3: five or six years old. The Israelis treat most of
- 1:52Speaker 3: the people out of Gaz who have really horrific burns
- 1:55Speaker 3: catastrophic medical injuries. She goes back to Gaza after being
- 1:59Speaker 3: treated for four or five in Israel, but has a
- 2:01Speaker 3: pass to get in and out of Israel, which very
- 2:05Speaker 3: few people in Gaza did at the time, So she
- 2:07Speaker 3: gets recruited to be a suicide bomber. This is in
- 2:10Speaker 3: the second into Fada, so mid two thousands.
- 2:14Speaker 1: And.
- 2:16Speaker 3: There's the video of her coming to the checkpoint to
- 2:19Speaker 3: get into Israel, wearing her suicide vest, and she'd been
- 2:23Speaker 3: given three target options by the Alaskar Martyrs brigade, a bus,
- 2:27Speaker 3: a cafe, or the hospital that had treated her and
- 2:30Speaker 3: saved her life. She chose the hospital that had treated
- 2:34Speaker 3: her and saved her life. She gets to the checkpoint,
- 2:38Speaker 3: they discover that she has a bomb, or they think
- 2:41Speaker 3: she does. She tries to detonate it, it doesn't go off.
- 2:44Speaker 3: She gets thrown in jail again. The Israeli's treat her,
- 2:47Speaker 3: they help her with her birds, they educate her, they
- 2:49Speaker 3: give her a college degree, and now in the Gladually deal,
- 2:53Speaker 3: she goes back to Gaza. So I go to Gaza
- 2:55Speaker 3: to interview her, thinking this is going to be a
- 2:57Speaker 3: redemption story. It was before Christmas, right that she is
- 2:59Speaker 3: going to say, perfect Christmas, I am going to be
- 3:02Speaker 3: the one to try and forge peace, and I believe
- 3:05Speaker 3: in peace, and I've seen that the Israelis are not
- 3:07Speaker 3: evil that I don't want to kill them anymore. Fine,
- 3:10Speaker 3: So I get into Gaza and I bring with me
- 3:12Speaker 3: an iPad that has the video of her trying to
- 3:14Speaker 3: blow herself up. So we're sitting across from each other
- 3:17Speaker 3: like this. She's wearing a hejab in a very junkie
- 3:22Speaker 3: gozzen apartment. It is an awful place in every sense
- 3:26Speaker 3: of the word. And I show her the video and
- 3:32Speaker 3: I said, what are you thinking watching this?
- 3:34Speaker 2: She goes, oh, oh.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Has all this reaction and she goes, oh, she goes,
- 3:41Speaker 3: I'm thinking, I almost tasted paradise. Okay, would you do
- 3:49Speaker 3: it again? Absolutely in a minute. This is my calling
- 3:54Speaker 3: in life. I said, wait a second. These people treated
- 3:58Speaker 3: you in all of your burns, they saved your life.
- 4:04Speaker 3: You tried to blow them up, they still treated you,
- 4:07Speaker 3: they educated you, and now you have a chance at
- 4:10Speaker 3: life back here in Gaza, and you'd want to blow
- 4:13Speaker 3: them up. And she goes, absolutely, they are the infidels,
- 4:16Speaker 3: they are evil, They're the enemy. I can't remember where
- 4:18Speaker 3: the jack translation was. And that's when my mind was
- 4:21Speaker 3: made up about sort of the moral clarity of the
- 4:24Speaker 3: Israeli Palestinian debate. Are the Israeli's perfect No, But that's
- 4:28Speaker 3: what they're up against.
- 4:30Speaker 1: And that is the key point that so many people ignore.
- 4:33Speaker 1: That's what they're up against. And it's funny when people
- 4:38Speaker 1: see deliberate attempts to indoctrinate the young. They have Americans.
- 4:47Speaker 1: They have this inability to absorb it or accept it
- 4:51Speaker 1: or believe it because I think a lot of us
- 4:53Speaker 1: have seen those TV the kids shows from you know,
- 4:58Speaker 1: those that part of the world where they teach the
- 5:00Speaker 1: little kids that the Jews drink the blood of babies
- 5:04Speaker 1: and the.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Rest of that. Yeah, it's like they're Susame Street, right.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And then when people like me are trying to lecture
- 5:12Speaker 1: you that the government schools aren't accidentally indoctrinating your kids
- 5:19Speaker 1: to hate America and Western civilization and not know their
- 5:22Speaker 1: own history, that that's just these silly, woke people who
- 5:27Speaker 1: don't really know it. No, it's an absolutely deliberate attempt
- 5:30Speaker 1: to capture the minds of young people. Every evil regime
- 5:35Speaker 1: in the history of the world has known this, They've
- 5:38Speaker 1: practiced it. I could bore you to death with examples
- 5:40Speaker 1: of it. They do it because it works, but people
- 5:43Speaker 1: can't accept that it's happening in their own country.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I guess. Yeah, that was quite a story. And you know,
- 5:53Speaker 2: not just the Palestinian Israeli conflict. That's what we're all
- 6:00Speaker 2: up against in terms of the whole radical Islam thing
- 6:04Speaker 2: all around the world. Yes, the people that actually believe no, no, no,
- 6:08Speaker 2: I want the bomb to go off, because then I'm
- 6:10Speaker 2: in paradise immediately.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Right. Well, And one of the most interesting things you've
- 6:15Speaker 1: ever brought to the show was that psychological study where
- 6:19Speaker 1: they pointed out that human beings cling to the first
- 6:22Speaker 1: thing they learn about something.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it's troubling. I'm after what. I feel like I'm
- 6:26Speaker 2: up against that in my life sometimes myself will you
- 6:29Speaker 2: will stick with the first thing you heard, even when
- 6:31Speaker 2: it's been proven that you were wrong about the first
- 6:34Speaker 2: thing you heard.
- 6:35Speaker 1: But the first thing even if the people who told
- 6:37Speaker 1: you the first thing you heard come back and say
- 6:39Speaker 1: is they did in the study, Hey, what we told
- 6:41Speaker 1: you is wrong. It's not X. It's why just we
- 6:45Speaker 1: apologize it's not X. It's why you go back in
- 6:48Speaker 1: a couple of months and ask those people if it's
- 6:49Speaker 1: X or why they'll say, oh, it's X, definitely X.
- 6:53Speaker 1: And so that's one of the insidious parts of indoctrinating
- 6:56Speaker 1: a young girl like this or the American example I
- 6:59Speaker 1: was giving. How much opportunity did she get to observe
- 7:04Speaker 1: that the reality of the Israeli people is not ex
- 7:06Speaker 1: It's why indeed, but she was indoctrinated to believe it
- 7:10Speaker 1: was the horrors of the evil Jew and they must
- 7:14Speaker 1: be blotted out, blah blah blah. And she could not.
- 7:17Speaker 1: With the most amazing, awe inspiring, kind, beautiful examples of
- 7:23Speaker 1: the actual truth, she could not be budged from that
- 7:25Speaker 1: premise human beings. Man.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Whoof Wow, that was a that was that was a
- 7:30Speaker 2: good one. That was interesting and troubling. So that's Barry
- 7:33Speaker 2: Weiss's outfit that brought us that the free press. Yeah,
- 7:37Speaker 2: so she she made a decision or not to make
- 7:39Speaker 2: take that two hundred million dollar offer from CBS.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I haven't heard.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I wish she would.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Because it's quickly become a media empire. They have lots
- 7:49Speaker 1: of super talented writers. Yes, they put out more.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Pardon me, it's possible that she, being you know, significantly
- 7:55Speaker 2: younger than me, thinks, why would I go to CBS.
- 7:58Speaker 2: I'm building what is the future of media. I'm not
- 8:00Speaker 2: going back through it. It was the big deal fifty
- 8:03Speaker 2: years ago.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Yeah, but they put out more good content that you
- 8:06Speaker 1: could take in.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah, podcasts too, obviously.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's amazing. She is a go getter and
- 8:13Speaker 1: her wife, that's right, Katie two women.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Lesbians.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Yes, that's what I've been told.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I was going to ask this question the other day on.
- 8:23Speaker 1: The air, but anyway, I was going to say, Nelly Bowls,
- 8:25Speaker 1: her wife is brilliant writer. I love Nelly.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Where was I? I live in a college down so
- 8:33Speaker 2: I'm at the bagel shop coffee shop Sunday morning, and
- 8:37Speaker 2: I had this thought. Could Doc Martin stay in business
- 8:41Speaker 2: if it weren't for lesbians? That's what I thought, Well.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Cubstantially lower profit.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I'm not sure they could. I'm not sure they could.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Attractive young lesbian couples all wearing Doc Martins big in
- 8:53Speaker 2: the punk rock scene, Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, they're I
- 8:57Speaker 2: have several paramis Yo Nazis, are you Jack? I wear
- 9:01Speaker 2: them regularly. But I think I think what really keeps
- 9:04Speaker 2: them going is the lesbian sea. He's a lesbian.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I've got to believe that in this era of data collection,
- 9:13Speaker 1: Doc Martin knows like the home address of every single
- 9:18Speaker 1: punk rock loving, neo Nazi lesbian because that is.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Their bread and butter right there.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Yeah, those girls are the next quarter profits right there?
- 9:32Speaker 2: Can I play a clip for you guys real quick?
- 9:34Speaker 1: I just need your opinion on it?
- 9:36Speaker 2: Sure, opinion. All right, here we go.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Went to a friend's wedding, but it was a really
- 9:40Speaker 4: long day. The wedding took place at twelve. When it
- 9:42Speaker 4: got to eight pm with no food insight, I was
- 9:45Speaker 4: absolutely struggling. I was starting to get angry. So me
- 9:48Speaker 4: and my friend, who asked we've decided to order a
- 9:50Speaker 4: pizza sneakily to the venue. When it arrived, I slipped
- 9:52Speaker 4: outside to grab it and I shared it with a
- 9:54Speaker 4: couple of other people at the table who were also starving.
- 9:56Speaker 4: World War round And now the bride is furious with
- 9:59Speaker 4: me and said if i 's been patient, food was
- 10:01Speaker 4: arriving in the next thirty minutes. She told me that
- 10:03Speaker 4: I embarrassed her, but some mothers told me it was
- 10:05Speaker 4: tacky and disrespectful.
- 10:07Speaker 1: M twelve to eight with no food at a wedding,
- 10:10Speaker 1: is a bull is left?
- 10:12Speaker 2: Yeah? Or yeah, unless it's like a close friend. What
- 10:17Speaker 2: were they doing for close friend that I'm sticking around? Well,
- 10:20Speaker 2: I wonder, I wonder. It was like, I don't know
- 10:23Speaker 2: if you've ever been to a full on Catholic wedding
- 10:24Speaker 2: where they do the full mask, but of those don't
- 10:26Speaker 2: last eight hours.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Feed your guests dumb, dumb. What do you want them
- 10:30Speaker 1: to starve, pass out, crack their heads.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Eight that's a long wedding anyways. Yeah, and then food's coming.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Now I'm out. I would believe before I would bring
- 10:40Speaker 2: a pizza into the wedding venue.
- 10:44Speaker 1: But she did it. Well the venue though, I mean,
- 10:47Speaker 1: what if it's a hotel, They rented a ballroom. She
- 10:49Speaker 1: went out to the lobby.
- 10:51Speaker 2: And you know what, that's commitment to her friend wanting
- 10:54Speaker 2: to stick around for this hllaciously long wedding. The bride's furious.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Oh oh yeah, well that bride needs to shove it
- 11:02Speaker 1: was I'm in that scenario, Katie, and you bring it up. Hey,
- 11:06Speaker 1: I'm thinking of getting a pizza. I got a three
- 11:08Speaker 1: word answer for you, sausage and onion and one word
- 11:13Speaker 1: response done.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Thanks guys, you're a lot of help. Well, I guess
- 11:20Speaker 2: that's it.
