- 1:09Speaker 3: A basketball's most competitive eras her father, Brian Russell, played
- 1:15Speaker 3: at the highest level and was part of some of
- 1:17Speaker 3: the most intense moments in NBA history.
- 1:20Speaker 4: But today isn't about his career. It's about her journey entrepreneur,

- 1:29Speaker 3: Welcome ocajun By, Welcome, well.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Ess, welcome, very happy to be here. I had to
- 1:39Speaker 2: have you on you No, I had to have you.
- 1:42Speaker 3: I feel like the last time I saw you was
- 1:45Speaker 3: at my was it my Kiwi Plum?
- 1:48Speaker 1: I think, oh shoes A long time ago.
- 1:52Speaker 2: That like twenty thirteen. When I am, I am, but
- 1:59Speaker 2: I think that's.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Baby, and I think that's what's like tripping me out
- 2:03Speaker 3: because you're my little sister. And now like seeing you,
- 2:07Speaker 3: it's like Kashan, you're all grown up, like cage.
- 2:12Speaker 2: It's wild. It's wild because the last time I saw him, like, wait, Kashan,
- 2:17Speaker 2: you look like a little baby.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I mean you still do, but like you're over here
- 2:21Speaker 3: just doing it and and just cute.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I mean.
- 2:29Speaker 3: She's always been cute, always had just like the cutest shit,
- 2:32Speaker 3: just sunny.
- 2:33Speaker 2: It's cute. So we love you.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 2:38Speaker 3: We want to get into your upbringing. Your dad is
- 2:43Speaker 3: the Brian Russell iconic. He did his thing in the NBA.
- 2:47Speaker 3: So we want to get just your insight into how
- 2:50Speaker 3: your life was, Where were you born, siblings?
- 2:54Speaker 2: Just did you go to the games? How were they
- 2:56Speaker 2: so yeah.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Okay, so I was born in Utah.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I'm not Mormon, definitely not. Okay.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Yeah, so my dad played for the Jazz. I have
- 3:08Speaker 1: two siblings or twins, bringing in Brandon, and yeah we
- 3:13Speaker 1: went to every.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Game, like every game memory being at a game.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Honestly, like I pretty much remember everything. I guess probably
- 3:23Speaker 1: from an age where I can remember, but like the
- 3:25Speaker 1: Jazz Arena, like even to this day, if I go,
- 3:28Speaker 1: I know where everything is. Wow, So I remember everything.
- 3:31Speaker 1: But yeah, we always went to games. But at that halftime,
- 3:36Speaker 1: my mom was like, you guys are going to the
- 3:38Speaker 1: family room, because I know that's right. It was getting
- 3:41Speaker 1: intent at those times. But yeah, we loved to go
- 3:44Speaker 1: into the games. When we didn't go to games, like
- 3:47Speaker 1: we were probably crying, but we were always at all
- 3:50Speaker 1: the games, Like everywhere my dad played. We were always
- 3:52Speaker 1: at all the games.
- 3:53Speaker 3: So was there any like play that your dad did
- 3:56Speaker 3: or like moment during the game where you're like, that's
- 3:58Speaker 3: my dad and you're so proud.
- 4:01Speaker 1: I think every time I saw my dad on TV
- 4:04Speaker 1: or on the floor, like that's how I felt like
- 4:06Speaker 1: it didn't really matter what he did. Like I was
- 4:08Speaker 1: a I still am just a super daddy's girl, so
- 4:12Speaker 1: just anything. Yeah, and I'm also super protective too, so
- 4:17Speaker 1: that's why my mom was sending us back even at
- 4:20Speaker 1: that age, and you were, well, you know, they were
- 4:24Speaker 1: playing the Bulls and Jordan's so you know, those times
- 4:28Speaker 1: were crazy and I was really a baby like during
- 4:31Speaker 1: those moments. But like my mom would tell me, like
- 4:34Speaker 1: she was like they would be like throwing stuff in
- 4:36Speaker 1: the crowd, like it would get crazy because we would
- 4:39Speaker 1: go to away games too. Yeah, my mom.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Was was she was about the life.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yeah, she was in the gym too.
- 4:48Speaker 2: She said, we're all in this together.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Yeah, we're all in here. When we got older, I
- 4:52Speaker 1: think like not as much because we were just older,
- 4:56Speaker 1: like we had our own schedules, but like younger, we
- 4:58Speaker 1: were always there.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Okay, So was.
- 5:01Speaker 3: There a moment when you realized that what your dad
- 5:03Speaker 3: did was different?
- 5:05Speaker 2: Like what was that one of your friends? Like friends?
- 5:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Like that's a good question. I feel like for
- 5:11Speaker 1: so long I thought it was normal because all I
- 5:15Speaker 1: was around was that like the Malones, like everybody I
- 5:19Speaker 1: was around the O'Neill's, like their dad's do the same thing.
- 5:22Speaker 1: So I think like probably around like fourth grade because
- 5:28Speaker 1: at school, like there were their parents were actors, doctors,
- 5:32Speaker 1: so it was like different things. And then at the time,
- 5:34Speaker 1: my dad was on the Lakers and everybody was like,
- 5:36Speaker 1: oh my god, your dad's on the Lakers, like that's
- 5:38Speaker 1: so cool. So I was like, oh, I guess, like
- 5:41Speaker 1: my dad's school.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Kind of fun. So you did you go to practice
- 5:48Speaker 2: with them?
- 5:49Speaker 1: So I did sometimes, but my brother was going, Like
- 5:53Speaker 1: my brother was skipping school and practice my dad. Yeah,
- 5:56Speaker 1: like my dad. My brother used to be glued to
- 5:58Speaker 1: my dad. We would go sometimes, but like my dad
- 6:01Speaker 1: was kind of like my dad and my brother's thing,
- 6:04Speaker 1: so he would go with him like all the time.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And at what age were you when he retired.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I had to be I think I was in seventh
- 6:13Speaker 1: or eighth grade, Okay, so was that like twelve thirteen?
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yeah, So how is that transition for you?
- 6:20Speaker 3: This is all you know and then now it's no longer,
- 6:23Speaker 3: So how is that transition for you and your family?
- 6:26Speaker 1: I think obviously for my dad probably the hardest, because
- 6:31Speaker 1: like that's all he did his whole life. So now
- 6:34Speaker 1: he's like dad for real, Like he's waking us up
- 6:38Speaker 1: for school, he's making us breakfast. So I liked it,
- 6:41Speaker 1: like I had my dad full time like before, it
- 6:45Speaker 1: really was like this is a celebrity because he's not
- 6:47Speaker 1: always home. Yeah, so it's like when you see him,
- 6:50Speaker 1: it's like dad dad, So it's like he was a
- 6:53Speaker 1: full time parent. So I personally liked it.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Like I had daddy home all the time.
- 6:58Speaker 1: I have a fun dad, So I loved it. Like
- 7:01Speaker 1: we were pulling up the school loud music. Yeah, he
- 7:06Speaker 1: definitely was making a scene school, but we loved it.
- 7:12Speaker 3: So did watching him and his career teach you anything
- 7:17Speaker 3: about discipline, work ethic success?
- 7:20Speaker 1: Definitely. I will say one thing for sure is being
- 7:24Speaker 1: on time. My dad is never late, yeah, like yeah,
- 7:29Speaker 1: never yeah, So that is something he always like, even
- 7:33Speaker 1: for school, Like if we wouldn't get up, he would
- 7:34Speaker 1: literally take the covers off of us, turn all the
- 7:37Speaker 1: lights on, like you need to be on time. So
- 7:39Speaker 1: I would definitely say being on time is something that
- 7:42Speaker 1: he really installed in us. I think I got a
- 7:46Speaker 1: lot of things from both parents though, because I always
- 7:50Speaker 1: saw my mom like running everything my dad had, So
- 7:54Speaker 1: it was definitely a happy medium and my dad is
- 7:56Speaker 1: way more chill, Like his approach on everything is like
- 8:00Speaker 1: try to keep your cool, you know, don't let anybody
- 8:03Speaker 1: get you off your toes, Like those are the type
- 8:05Speaker 1: of things like my dad gave us for sure okay, and.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Then my mom you know, yeah, sport down so she
- 8:16Speaker 3: did you know, I run this ship.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I'm the captain.
- 8:19Speaker 1: And my dad would be like, yes she is.
- 8:22Speaker 3: We got in trouble more, oh me for surely?
- 8:28Speaker 2: Not my sweet occasion. What were you doing in the home?
- 8:33Speaker 1: You know, sneaking out? I was a sneaker outer.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Where were you going?
- 8:40Speaker 1: So how do you sneak out the house?
- 8:42Speaker 3: So it's like you know what movies, It's like you
- 8:45Speaker 3: crawl out the window and you like jump down.
- 8:47Speaker 1: And I did that before. And I lived in a
- 8:50Speaker 1: gated community too, so.
- 8:52Speaker 2: It was so how so how does that even work?
- 8:55Speaker 1: I had my friend like come in the gate and
- 8:57Speaker 1: pick me up park down the street.
- 8:59Speaker 2: So how you get back in the window.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I went through the front door my brother. You know. Okay,
- 9:07Speaker 1: it wasn't often, but I did it a couple of times.
- 9:11Speaker 3: So when you so when you get caught, obviously there's
- 9:14Speaker 3: a couple of times.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I'm sure you got caught. I got caught once And
- 9:17Speaker 2: then what did daddy say?
- 9:19Speaker 1: Honestly, guys like my dad never really disciplined me. It
- 9:22Speaker 1: was this is a.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Girls my dad wrapped around my fingers period exactly.
- 9:35Speaker 3: My Mom's like, girl, yeah, save them tears.
- 9:40Speaker 2: It's not gonna work. I don't care. My daddy just
- 9:43Speaker 2: like you got to do. Like he can never be
- 9:47Speaker 2: mad at you guys.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Yeah, never, Like my mom always hated that.
- 9:51Speaker 3: You need to discipline them, and it's okay, like that's
- 9:54Speaker 3: what dads are there for.
- 9:55Speaker 1: You just accept it.
- 9:57Speaker 3: So before we go into pressure and identity, what's the
- 10:00Speaker 3: best piece of advice your dad has given you. I
- 10:03Speaker 3: know we touched on it a little bit about like
- 10:05Speaker 3: the discipline and being on time, but what advice that
- 10:08Speaker 3: he gave you that really sticks with you.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Yeah, my dad gives me advice often because I'm kind
- 10:14Speaker 1: of like a firecracker at times, and like I said earlier,
- 10:17Speaker 1: he's very calm. So just I kind of touched on
- 10:21Speaker 1: it earlier, just not letting anybody see what you really
- 10:25Speaker 1: feel like having a poker face. I think like in
- 10:28Speaker 1: the industry that I'm int that is something that is
- 10:31Speaker 1: really important, especially being a woman in a male dominant industry.
- 10:36Speaker 1: And never let anybody disrespect you. That's always my dad
- 10:40Speaker 1: saying that every day, like stand up for yourself. Absolutely,
- 10:44Speaker 1: so definitely those things, like I feel like a lot
- 10:47Speaker 1: of people don't do that. I feel like I'm known
- 10:51Speaker 1: for doing that.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Great.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yeah, so definitely those things for sure. Like my dad
- 10:57Speaker 1: tells me I'm beautiful every day. He's gonna call me
- 11:01Speaker 1: every time our song comes on. So I think just
- 11:04Speaker 1: like having that security is something that he taught me.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Yes, so guess what that means?
- 11:10Speaker 3: You don't have to chase it and try to seek
- 11:12Speaker 3: that in other people.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Yeah, So that's phenomenal, phenomenal.
- 11:16Speaker 4: He's prepared dad. So who is k If you could
- 11:22Speaker 4: describe yourself in three words, what would it be?
- 11:26Speaker 1: Three words? Okay, definitely spicy, No, that's what my name means.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Definitely driven and I feel like a sponge because I
- 11:41Speaker 1: love to always learn. I want to always grow. I
- 11:45Speaker 1: never want to be stuck in any position, like I
- 11:49Speaker 1: always want to know more. I always want to be educated.
- 11:54Speaker 1: So I would say I love that.
- 11:59Speaker 4: Yeah, so take it in. Yeah, just for my own information.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Like what were you like in like high school? Because
- 12:05Speaker 4: high school is usually a time when you were coming
- 12:08Speaker 4: into yourself. You're such a creative person, So what were
- 12:11Speaker 4: you like in high school as you were becoming a
- 12:14Speaker 4: young adult and woman.
- 12:16Speaker 1: High school, those were my rebel days.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I'm out the window.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Sorry, I don't know if that one, but.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Miss Kim.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Now, in high school, I definitely I feel like I
- 12:33Speaker 1: was always who I was like from jump, So I
- 12:38Speaker 1: don't really feel like there was anything like different. I
- 12:40Speaker 1: guess just getting older. But I definitely was tapping into
- 12:44Speaker 1: my creative side in high school for sure. Like I
- 12:46Speaker 1: was doing my own nails because my mom was like,
- 12:49Speaker 1: you're not getting your nails done, so I would like
- 12:52Speaker 1: go to write aid and like do my own acrylic nails.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Like started drawing in high school, doodling on my so
- 13:01Speaker 1: creative wise, like I was doing that in high school.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I was playing sports in high school. I was playing volleyball,
- 13:08Speaker 1: but then you know, I got a little too girly
- 13:10Speaker 1: and I was like I want nails, I want, But yeah,
- 13:17Speaker 1: I was. I was always the same though, Like I
- 13:19Speaker 1: was always me. Like anybody that has known me from
- 13:21Speaker 1: a little girl is like, You've always been the same.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I can see that.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I can see that.
- 13:26Speaker 4: Yeah, So when you were around like junior senior year,
- 13:29Speaker 4: did you know what path you were going to go
- 13:32Speaker 4: to or were you Were you in the design space
- 13:37Speaker 4: then or.
- 13:38Speaker 1: So not really Honestly, I don't think I knew what
- 13:41Speaker 1: I wanted to do, Like I knew that I was creative,
- 13:45Speaker 1: like I knew I wasn't I guess regular, but I
- 13:50Speaker 1: didn't know what I wanted to do that.
- 13:52Speaker 2: I knew I wasn't regular.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, Well explain it like go through that.
- 13:57Speaker 4: What do you mean, like how did you what gave
- 14:00Speaker 4: you that inclination that I'm not like everybody else.
- 14:03Speaker 1: I think just my life in general, like I always
- 14:06Speaker 1: saw it as normal, probably until like really high school,
- 14:09Speaker 1: like oh like I don't live a normal life. Just
- 14:12Speaker 1: the people that I knew, and just where I was
- 14:15Speaker 1: going wasn't what everybody else was doing. So I think
- 14:18Speaker 1: I saw so much. I think a lot of times
- 14:21Speaker 1: people don't see things like I saw everything. So I
- 14:25Speaker 1: just knew like, oh yeah, like I could be whatever
- 14:27Speaker 1: I want to be, like I see it right in
- 14:30Speaker 1: front of me, So I would think that really yeah
- 14:33Speaker 1: yeah cool.
- 14:34Speaker 2: So did people assume who you were because of your
- 14:37Speaker 2: last name?
- 14:38Speaker 1: Oh yeah, definitely definitely. I think even now, like people
- 14:45Speaker 1: would be like, oh, like you're only doing this and
- 14:49Speaker 1: that because of your dad or like, so yeah, that
- 14:51Speaker 1: was always a thing. But my parents definitely taught us
- 14:56Speaker 1: confidence very young. So I don't think it bothered me.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Like I was aware of it, and I think it
- 15:03Speaker 1: just like pushed me to prove the opposite. Like I
- 15:07Speaker 1: never felt like really bullied, but I just used it
- 15:10Speaker 1: to be like, oh, like, yeah, I'm gonna show you
- 15:12Speaker 1: like what I can be. I don't know what it
- 15:16Speaker 1: is yet, but I know it'll be great.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Yeah that was That's interesting. So you weren't bullied.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Yeah, sometimes that comes with the territory, but that's good
- 15:25Speaker 3: to know that you.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Didn't have to probably knew because she was just like, yeah,
- 15:31Speaker 2: her name is osun. Some of this action exactly.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Like quit while you're yeah.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Okay, so you played volleyball.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I did.
- 15:41Speaker 2: So did you have the pressure of being great? I mean,
- 15:45Speaker 2: I mean you have.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Byron Russell was your dad, So, uh, did you feel
- 15:51Speaker 4: the need to be a great or did he put
- 15:54Speaker 4: pressure on you?
- 15:55Speaker 2: Did he try to coach you?
- 15:57Speaker 1: No? I think my brother probably because he played basketball. Okay,
- 16:02Speaker 1: my dad kind of always let like me and my
- 16:04Speaker 1: sister like do our own thing because like that wasn't
- 16:07Speaker 1: his sport, So he wasn't like super. He just never
- 16:11Speaker 1: was super on us in that way, Like he was
- 16:14Speaker 1: more of just like that loving dad for us, like
- 16:18Speaker 1: just giving us that girl dad vibe. So he was
- 16:22Speaker 1: never really liked that with me. I picked up volleyball
- 16:25Speaker 1: on my own. I was just like, okay, like, let
- 16:27Speaker 1: me just try it in middle school, and then I
- 16:30Speaker 1: played till like tenth grade, and then I was over it.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Did you like that? I'm not crazy for.
- 16:43Speaker 1: That was probably one of the reasons why I wanted
- 16:46Speaker 1: to play, Like I think I was watching a movie
- 16:48Speaker 1: and I saw like girls playing volleyball, and I was like,
- 16:50Speaker 1: oh my gosh, I want to do that.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Yeah, And people were acting like it was such a
- 16:54Speaker 4: big deal that you said you didn't like the other
- 16:56Speaker 4: alphe I said in an.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Interview when I was a freshman, I thought that the
- 17:00Speaker 3: women's basketball shorts.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Were too baggy. That's why I didn't like it.
- 17:05Speaker 3: I like the tights, and people, I guess they twisted
- 17:08Speaker 3: my words and made it seem like I said that
- 17:11Speaker 3: they were manly.
- 17:12Speaker 1: It's not what they said. Yeah, you just I just
- 17:15Speaker 1: like what I like.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I like the shorts.
- 17:17Speaker 3: I like short shorts at the time, we was walking
- 17:20Speaker 3: around here thinking we was cute.
- 17:22Speaker 4: But if you look good, you play good. Right, feel good,
- 17:25Speaker 4: you're gonna play good. So if I feel cute, I'm
- 17:27Speaker 4: gonna I'm gonna.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Let it have. I'my.
- 17:29Speaker 3: I like them shorts up, they're cute.
- 17:34Speaker 2: A couple of extras. But I get it, you know
- 17:36Speaker 2: what I'm saying. I get it. I don't agree.
- 17:41Speaker 4: So where do you feel? Where did you or do
- 17:44Speaker 4: you feel the most freedom just to be cajun.
- 17:49Speaker 2: When, like back then and then.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Also now always I know my answers, guys, but I
- 17:56Speaker 1: never felt like I couldn't be myself ever, so always
- 18:00Speaker 1: I think the environment, yeah, always, I was never boxed
- 18:06Speaker 1: in ever like I don't I can't even remember us time. Yeah,
- 18:12Speaker 1: as I got older, I really did learn that, like
- 18:13Speaker 1: a lot of people can't be themselves. Yeah, my parents
- 18:17Speaker 1: were always like allowing us to be ourselves. So I
- 18:23Speaker 1: never I am not myself for anybody, like I don't care, which.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Is great because I think it's harder to learn that
- 18:31Speaker 3: as you get older, or to unlearn that it's okay to.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Not be in a box. You don't have to learn that.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I didn't have to unlearn that, which is great, very
- 18:38Speaker 2: blessed and great.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Especially Yeah, I'm sorry, No, as you just tap into
- 18:44Speaker 3: the next chapter of your life, you don't have to
- 18:46Speaker 3: spend that time trying to rewire your brain and your
- 18:50Speaker 3: confidence and you're just self awareness.
- 18:53Speaker 2: So that's beautiful.
- 18:54Speaker 4: And there are women in their forties fifties that are
- 18:56Speaker 4: trying to relearn themselves and trying to figure out who
- 18:58Speaker 4: they are because they put their themselves into everybody else's
- 19:02Speaker 4: life and have then you know, poured back into themselves.
- 19:04Speaker 4: So kudos to you, and I hope you always do that.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I will.
- 19:10Speaker 4: It's just like, so so far, what has been your
- 19:17Speaker 4: biggest learning moment?
- 19:20Speaker 1: My biggest learning moment so like in life, in business.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Wherever, wherever is most.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Maybe in life, how about both life and business.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I think knowing that you're not going to get you
- 19:37Speaker 1: out of everybody else it's probably one of the biggest
- 19:42Speaker 1: lessons that I've learned. Everybody is not had or everybody
- 19:47Speaker 1: doesn't have good intentions, you know where that goes. I
- 19:51Speaker 1: think that's something that I learned because I'm always going
- 19:54Speaker 1: into things just being me, like being kind, like let's
- 19:59Speaker 1: do this, you have something to offer, I have something
- 20:01Speaker 1: to offer, like I never step into any situations with jealousy,
- 20:05Speaker 1: like I want everybody to win and everybody's not like that.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I think that's probably something that I was just like dang,
- 20:12Speaker 1: like okay too.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Did you experience that part when you were younger, just
- 20:18Speaker 3: the being around people who had ill intent?
- 20:21Speaker 2: Or do you notice it more now that you're older.
- 20:25Speaker 1: I feel like when I was younger, like I did
- 20:28Speaker 1: notice it, but like I didn't care. I think like
- 20:30Speaker 1: I was a kid or liked you, and I'm just
- 20:32Speaker 1: like okay whatever, but like older, like I really do
- 20:35Speaker 1: you see it?
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 20:36Speaker 1: Because like now I'm like passionate about what I'm doing
- 20:40Speaker 1: or I'm passionate about what I'm saying, or I'm passionate
- 20:43Speaker 1: about who I'm around, like if you have a dream,
- 20:46Speaker 1: you're telling me about it, like if I can help you,
- 20:47Speaker 1: like I'm going to do that. So I think like
- 20:51Speaker 1: now it's more like dang, like I can't be this
- 20:54Speaker 1: to everybody because I'm not going to get that back
- 20:58Speaker 1: or I have to learn how to just keep being
- 21:00Speaker 1: me even when I don't get I guess the reactions
- 21:05Speaker 1: that I would expect you can't expect.
- 21:08Speaker 4: Yes, So yeah, where you sound like a really good friend.
- 21:12Speaker 2: So what do you value in friendship?
- 21:15Speaker 1: What do I value in friendship? I think I really
- 21:19Speaker 1: just value conversation without judgment. Like I think like the
- 21:27Speaker 1: solid friends that I have now, and a lot of
- 21:29Speaker 1: them being NBA kids, I think we all just understand
- 21:33Speaker 1: each other. So it's kind of easier to just be,
- 21:37Speaker 1: you know, with people that know you or have the
- 21:40Speaker 1: same intention. But definitely just conversation without any judgment and
- 21:44Speaker 1: just realness because in this day and age, like realness
- 21:49Speaker 1: is so hard to find. So I think when you
- 21:52Speaker 1: have it, you hold on to it. So definitely that.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Yeah, So it seems like you've always had defined yourself
- 22:00Speaker 4: outside of basketball.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I mean, you were a part of the world, but
- 22:03Speaker 2: it never defined you. I think we learned that. So
- 22:07Speaker 2: how do you keep evolving yourself?
- 22:09Speaker 4: Like what do you do to continue to evolve into
- 22:12Speaker 4: the next best ocasion that you could be?
- 22:15Speaker 1: I think kind of like what I said earlier, just
- 22:18Speaker 1: always learning new things, being around new people. Like recently,
- 22:24Speaker 1: me and my boyfriend have like entered the golf world
- 22:26Speaker 1: and that's like something so different. But we went to
- 22:30Speaker 1: a PGA tournament a couple of days ago. I met
- 22:33Speaker 1: so many dope people like bankers, like random jobs that
- 22:38Speaker 1: like I would never know if I didn't go to
- 22:40Speaker 1: that event. So I think things like that like being
- 22:43Speaker 1: out and I don't mean out like partying, like out
- 22:46Speaker 1: a networking events, like just learning. I think learning is
- 22:51Speaker 1: the only way you can evolve.
- 22:53Speaker 4: And the golf course is like the best place to
- 22:55Speaker 4: cut deals and businesses.
- 22:57Speaker 3: I think athletes now are learning that that once you
- 23:05Speaker 3: transition out of playing your sport, get into golf. It's
- 23:09Speaker 3: a great way to meet executives, people that you may
- 23:12Speaker 3: not normally surround yourself with. Like Tamara said, a lot
- 23:16Speaker 3: of business deals are done on the golf course, And
- 23:19Speaker 3: so I love that Brandon and a lot of his
- 23:23Speaker 3: colleagues are embracing the sport doing more events around golf,
- 23:28Speaker 3: just so that other athletes and just even anyone their age,
- 23:31Speaker 3: because again, people think golf, and people think.
- 23:33Speaker 2: My dad or our dads.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Yeah, like A six stays No, you guys can get
- 23:37Speaker 3: out there early and start networking, meeting people.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Get into those spaces.
- 23:43Speaker 1: So that's it's amazing. Yeah, I would have never even
- 23:45Speaker 1: thought like, oh, like this is what this is why.
- 23:48Speaker 2: They're really out here. I don't know who said it.
- 23:51Speaker 4: It wasn't my quote, but they were like, you know,
- 23:53Speaker 4: the business deals aren't happening on the court, They're happening
- 23:56Speaker 4: on the golf court. So think about that and think
- 23:58Speaker 4: about who's on the who's on the court, and who's
- 24:00Speaker 4: on the golf course.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and I was just like, and who's watching exactly
- 24:04Speaker 1: exactly it was.
- 24:04Speaker 4: So it was such an interesting point to make, but
- 24:08Speaker 4: it is something to be you know, like, Okay, let
- 24:12Speaker 4: me let me go get your you can get.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Perfect your first I'm born into.
- 24:21Speaker 1: The game golf, okay, coming real soon, coming soon.
- 24:26Speaker 3: So that perfectly segues into your brand. So you have
- 24:32Speaker 3: built your identity around creativity. Yes, what inspired your love
- 24:37Speaker 3: for fashion? That's my first question? And then how did
- 24:41Speaker 3: Tough Crowd come about?
- 24:43Speaker 1: Okay, so going back to high school, like I would
- 24:48Speaker 1: even with my mom, like we would be like designing
- 24:50Speaker 1: little jeans.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Like putting the patches.
- 24:52Speaker 1: On them, cutting them up, like even the shirts. So
- 24:58Speaker 1: like that was always the thing, like just in my
- 25:00Speaker 1: household in general, like that was kind of like a
- 25:02Speaker 1: little bonding moment and my sister would have with like
- 25:04Speaker 1: my mom because we would be like making her so
- 25:07Speaker 1: stuff and like do all that. So I feel like
- 25:11Speaker 1: high school definitely, but I didn't know that I would
- 25:14Speaker 1: be actually doing this. I actually went to college for psychology.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Wow yeah, which is like yeah, So, like I said,
- 25:27Speaker 1: in high school, like I really didn't know what I
- 25:29Speaker 1: wanted to do, but I always wanted to make sure
- 25:31Speaker 1: I could get a job. So I was like, Okay,
- 25:34Speaker 1: I have to go to college. Like at the time,
- 25:36Speaker 1: like it's not like now where you can kind of
- 25:40Speaker 1: create your own thing and pop. But I always was like, Okay,
- 25:44Speaker 1: I have to go to school because you know, no
- 25:46Speaker 1: matter what, I want to be able to get a job.
- 25:48Speaker 1: So psychology was something I was always into. That's something
- 25:51Speaker 1: my mom also studied, and I just everybody would always
- 25:55Speaker 1: ask me for advice and I'm like, let me go
- 25:58Speaker 1: to your own relax. So I was in college doing
- 26:02Speaker 1: that and I met my boyfriend now Brandon Jennings, and
- 26:08Speaker 1: he was like teeter tottering in and out the league.
- 26:13Speaker 1: And I had met him just from my mutual friends
- 26:15Speaker 1: like parties, like I wanted a new crowd of friends.
- 26:19Speaker 1: So like I was just around him and like he
- 26:22Speaker 1: was just making stuff that had tough crowd on it,
- 26:25Speaker 1: and I was like what is tough crowd.
- 26:26Speaker 2: He already had.
- 26:27Speaker 1: He already had like he had balcony. He was already
- 26:31Speaker 1: like making little like cups and pints and like shirts
- 26:34Speaker 1: and everything. No, it wasn't. So he was just doing
- 26:38Speaker 1: it like he didn't know what he was doing. So
- 26:41Speaker 1: I was like what is this and he was like, oh,
- 26:42Speaker 1: like give it to your friends. So I would be
- 26:45Speaker 1: like okay, So I would do it and then I
- 26:47Speaker 1: would see like the reaction like oh, people are like, oh,
- 26:49Speaker 1: this is dope, Like this is a cool sidebar. Brandon
- 26:54Speaker 1: was actually my brother's favorite point guard growing up, so
- 26:57Speaker 1: like I wouldn't give it to.
- 27:02Speaker 2: You, sister of the Yeah.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Crazy, but yeah, So he had the idea he was
- 27:10Speaker 1: still in the league. He was he had went back
- 27:14Speaker 1: to Milwaukee. So this is like twenty eighteen and after that,
- 27:20Speaker 1: like he kind of just like mentally was all over
- 27:22Speaker 1: the place, went to Russia. Called me from Russia. Yeah,
- 27:25Speaker 1: for a couple of months. Did not last.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Brandon said I'm coming right there, Like I can't do it.
- 27:32Speaker 1: So he actually called me and he was like I'm
- 27:34Speaker 1: done like with basketball, like I want to do tough crowd,
- 27:37Speaker 1: Like would you do with me? And I was like yeah,
- 27:40Speaker 1: and at the time, like he didn't even really know me,
- 27:44Speaker 1: Like he just knew I was smart, I was in college,
- 27:46Speaker 1: like this girl's cute, you can help me.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Cute and creative that went along.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I was like yeah, like it was cool. It was
- 27:53Speaker 1: something different, and I think too, I was at the
- 27:57Speaker 1: point where I was like I really need to show
- 28:01Speaker 1: like who I am, Like what I am outside of
- 28:04Speaker 1: being Brian Russell's daughter. Yes, So I was like, this
- 28:07Speaker 1: is my opportunity. So at that point, that's how Tough
- 28:11Speaker 1: Crowd actually really came about, like just us two coming
- 28:15Speaker 1: together like do you want to do this? Yeah, and
- 28:18Speaker 1: we did it. Neither of us knew what we were
- 28:21Speaker 1: doing and we just I was like, okay, you're making
- 28:25Speaker 1: these clothes, like what is it costing? Like I'm asking
- 28:28Speaker 1: those type of questions and he was just kind of like, oh,
- 28:31Speaker 1: like he's just doing anything. So at that point, I'm
- 28:35Speaker 1: looking at finances like I didn't go to school for that,
- 28:38Speaker 1: but I'm just like like I can do it. So
- 28:43Speaker 1: that's really how it came about.
- 28:44Speaker 2: So I see the dog.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Yes, and and then even tough Crowd, So what is
- 28:52Speaker 3: the story behind the name why Tough crowd. Why the
- 28:56Speaker 3: Doberman is there any just yeah, where how did that come?
- 29:01Speaker 1: So? Tough crowd, like I said, was something that Brandon
- 29:04Speaker 1: already was his idea and his experience is just in
- 29:08Speaker 1: his journey. If you guys don't know, first player to
- 29:11Speaker 1: play Overseas, he's kind of just had a crazy journey
- 29:14Speaker 1: in general, like he always is doing stuff that people
- 29:17Speaker 1: don't like. So he's living a tough crowd. Like that's
- 29:20Speaker 1: where he got the name from. So even when he's
- 29:23Speaker 1: telling me, I'm like, I feel like I'm in a
- 29:25Speaker 1: tough crowd because of like we're saying, the lifestyle and expectations,
- 29:29Speaker 1: like people expect you to just be great all the
- 29:34Speaker 1: time or be just like your dad or whatever parent
- 29:37Speaker 1: you have that is famous. So we I was like
- 29:41Speaker 1: resonating with the movement. And the Doverman comes from like
- 29:45Speaker 1: the nineties. So like the nineties that was like the dog,
- 29:48Speaker 1: like the most protected dog, like snoop Dog, like everybody,
- 29:51Speaker 1: the Doverman. It's so a lot of inspiration we take
- 29:55Speaker 1: from the nineties. So that's where the Doverman came.
- 29:57Speaker 4: The best, the best decade, the nineties. I was born
- 30:03Speaker 4: in the eighties, but the nineties. What I remember, I
- 30:05Speaker 4: don't remember remember remember the nineties. Remember the nineties was
- 30:11Speaker 4: was the decade?
- 30:12Speaker 2: So it was Brandon into fashion. So yeah, so fashion stuff.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Yeah, he is, like he was like kind of known
- 30:19Speaker 1: for that, like he always were super swaggy tattoos.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Okay, we're gonna talk about you as in a little
- 30:25Speaker 2: bit a lot too.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Yeah he says I'm his mini me, but like you're like,
- 30:32Speaker 3: yeah rare okay.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Yeah he he definitely was known for like his style
- 30:38Speaker 1: and fashion like still is. So he was already into
- 30:42Speaker 1: fashion as well.
- 30:43Speaker 2: So it was a perfect alignment.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it just ya.
- 30:46Speaker 3: So what message are you trying to send through the brand? Like,
- 30:50Speaker 3: what is it that you want to resonate with the
- 30:53Speaker 3: consumer about tough crowd?
- 30:55Speaker 1: Just I think that everybody wants to be a part
- 30:58Speaker 1: of something, and I feel like we're giving you something
- 31:01Speaker 1: to be a part of. Like there's no color attached
- 31:05Speaker 1: to it, there's no standard, there's literally nothing but just
- 31:09Speaker 1: tough crowd. Anybody can relate to that, like anything that
- 31:13Speaker 1: you've gone through in your life, Yes that's tough or hard,
- 31:17Speaker 1: or you feel like you have to overcome something.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Join the crowd.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Yeah, Like it just goes for everybody, but there's no
- 31:24Speaker 1: real label on it, and I think that's why people
- 31:26Speaker 1: love it. Like there's people that have it tatted on
- 31:29Speaker 1: their bodies that we don't even know. Yeah, so it's
- 31:32Speaker 1: definitely going further than what we Yeah, I.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Think that that's my next question.
- 31:37Speaker 3: When you guys first collaborated on this, did you guys
- 31:41Speaker 3: think it would become what it is? Because I see
- 31:43Speaker 3: athletes wear it. It's just it really has turned into
- 31:47Speaker 3: a beautiful story that consumers are engaging with that you
- 31:52Speaker 3: guys ever imagine that it would get to this point.
- 31:54Speaker 1: So I think I did.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Okay, I.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Knew because I just saw it, like I think, because
- 32:04Speaker 1: I don't know men are their heads are different, but me, like,
- 32:08Speaker 1: I'm not a famous basketball player or anything, so I'm
- 32:12Speaker 1: sitting back just seeing reactions that like he's probably used to.
- 32:17Speaker 1: So I knew, Like when I first saw how people
- 32:20Speaker 1: were reacting to it, even when it wasn't even being sold,
- 32:24Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, yeah, like this is gonna go.
- 32:27Speaker 1: And then he would be like you think so, like
- 32:31Speaker 1: you think we can do this? I'm like yeah, And
- 32:34Speaker 1: if you don't think so, Like I got it for
- 32:36Speaker 1: both of us because I'm gonna make it happen and
- 32:39Speaker 1: that's what we did.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Which, so designing brings you joy, Like I just see
- 32:43Speaker 3: how passionate you are about this. Is there a particular
- 32:46Speaker 3: piece because you got you have chains, you have genes,
- 32:49Speaker 3: Is that you have a sweaters shirts? Is there any
- 32:52Speaker 3: piece in particular that just really brought you joy when
- 32:56Speaker 3: you were designing it or is it all kind of equal?
- 32:58Speaker 1: Okay, So that's a really good question because I feel
- 33:01Speaker 1: like I did this swimsuit.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I remember this, yeah, with the dog. I remember this.
- 33:08Speaker 1: That was like one of my favorite things. Because everybody
- 33:12Speaker 1: was telling me they couldn't make it. They were like,
- 33:14Speaker 1: it's so complicated, Like we don't think we can do it.
- 33:17Speaker 1: So when I finally found someone that could bring my
- 33:19Speaker 1: vision to life like that, and it was like, you know,
- 33:23Speaker 1: sexy woman, they always saw they can't do something.
- 33:28Speaker 3: It's just like somebody it was so sexy, so cute.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Are you going to bring it back?
- 33:36Speaker 1: Everybody asked me to bring it back. I'm like, damn,
- 33:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna bring it back. We usually don't bring things back.
- 33:41Speaker 1: That's like a little thing.
- 33:42Speaker 3: With dogs, just like literally the logo covering.
- 33:49Speaker 2: I would do it. It's something you should probably wear
- 33:51Speaker 2: on your honeymoon. It's very risky.
- 33:56Speaker 4: You can wear it underneath a shirt or a cat
- 33:59Speaker 4: Yeah that's how I was.
- 34:00Speaker 1: I was wearing it.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Yeah, so you mentioned so you guys make one style
- 34:05Speaker 3: and then once it's done, it's done. Is there a
- 34:07Speaker 3: strategy behind that? Just like the exclusivity of Brandy.
- 34:12Speaker 1: So we do bring things back, just not right away,
- 34:16Speaker 1: like it'll be a year later or something like that.
- 34:18Speaker 1: I think something that we pride ourselves on is being exclusive.
- 34:25Speaker 1: It's hard to get everybody doesn't have it. I think
- 34:27Speaker 1: when everybody has the same thing, they don't care about it, like, Okay,
- 34:30Speaker 1: I can get that tomorrow, like it'll be available okay.
- 34:33Speaker 1: So that's kind of like a marketing strategy that we have,
- 34:35Speaker 1: Like we want you to be emailing us twenty times
- 34:38Speaker 1: asking us for this hat that you just saw Steph
- 34:41Speaker 1: Curry or so it's really a marketing strategy. It works
- 34:45Speaker 1: well for us.
- 34:46Speaker 2: So who is your idea, your dream client?
- 34:49Speaker 4: Who would you love to dress or for whatever, carpet
- 34:53Speaker 4: or just day to day.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Definitely beyond Ya, I mean speaking to it. Yeah, literally
- 35:02Speaker 1: be like b Girl. Yeah, definitely Beyonce I love Beyonce.
- 35:07Speaker 1: I think everybody loves me. We've had I think probably
- 35:11Speaker 1: like before definitely Chris, but Chris was already rocking it.
- 35:15Speaker 1: That was like a brown Chris Brown. Yeah, that was
- 35:19Speaker 1: that was a very exciting time for us. Like he
- 35:22Speaker 1: was wearing it on tour, so like that was cool
- 35:26Speaker 1: because that was like a big artist. Yeah. But yeah Beyonce,
- 35:30Speaker 1: Like that's all I care about.
- 35:32Speaker 3: So when you see Chris Brown, like when you see
- 35:34Speaker 3: that order or like how how does that happen?
- 35:37Speaker 2: Like do you see like an order onlines? You know?
- 35:41Speaker 2: Chris Brown?
- 35:42Speaker 1: So we actually styled him for one of his videos, okay,
- 35:47Speaker 1: and it was a piece I designed, So I.
- 35:49Speaker 2: Was like, okay, cool, Like.
- 35:51Speaker 1: It wasn't even the fact that it was like him
- 35:54Speaker 1: like it was, but it was just like, dang, like
- 35:56Speaker 1: people really like this brand, Like you really like these clothes.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:00Speaker 1: So I think that was like super cool and it
- 36:02Speaker 1: was somebody that was outside of basketball.
- 36:06Speaker 2: So artist, you can dress, yea, he can dress.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Yeah, So that was really cool. I think like when
- 36:15Speaker 1: we first started Tough Crowd, we were focused on who
- 36:17Speaker 1: we knew, which were athletes, and athletes do rocket the
- 36:21Speaker 1: most like personal connection either there they know me or
- 36:24Speaker 1: branded like you know, but yeah, that was really cool
- 36:29Speaker 1: to just see people outside of basketball.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Hip hop world tapped into it. Yeah.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Yeah, we've had yeah, we've had a couple.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Of rappers video.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's been cool. Just anybody outside of like
- 36:43Speaker 1: our little world when you see where it is.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Like cool, that just shows how it's expanding.
- 36:50Speaker 3: What was the hardest part or the challenges that you
- 36:52Speaker 3: have faced being in this business?
- 36:56Speaker 1: So many A lot of challenges were I think just
- 37:04Speaker 1: not knowing what you like, you don't know like, hey,
- 37:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna go work with this business person and then
- 37:12Speaker 1: they're gonna like try to undercut me and take money
- 37:17Speaker 1: that they shouldn't be taking, like things like that. For sure,
- 37:19Speaker 1: we experienced off.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Rip, any manufacturing issu.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Yeah, both all of that things being laid That's probably
- 37:27Speaker 1: like what everybody experiences all the time, things not being
- 37:31Speaker 1: on the right timeline. And then so we started the
- 37:34Speaker 1: brand during COVID so done. Surprisingly though we were booming
- 37:40Speaker 1: during COVID, but that year after COVID, it was like
- 37:45Speaker 1: so hard to get closed, like shipping and like all
- 37:48Speaker 1: that stuff was just terrible. Like we were still you know,
- 37:52Speaker 1: doing what we could, but it was definitely different from
- 37:55Speaker 1: when we first were dropping. So manufacture issues for sure.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Just greedy people. That happens all the time.
- 38:05Speaker 2: And we say greedy people.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Just taking advantage just you know, just like like the costs, yeah,
- 38:14Speaker 1: or just like okay, like we do work with manufacturers.
- 38:16Speaker 1: A lot of times they'll offer to you know, send
- 38:18Speaker 1: the stuff out for you. The money is getting higher
- 38:21Speaker 1: and higher, Like where are these numbers coming from? They're
- 38:23Speaker 1: making up different numbers. Like that was something we had
- 38:26Speaker 1: to learn, like, Okay, we need to pay attention to that.
- 38:29Speaker 1: There's a lot of times where so like when we
- 38:31Speaker 1: first started the brand, like me and Brandon were literally
- 38:33Speaker 1: packaging it up in his garage like we were doing
- 38:37Speaker 1: it ourselves, which.
- 38:38Speaker 3: I think is so important for people to understand. Yah,
- 38:41Speaker 3: start that you guys hustled to hustles. Yeah, and you
- 38:45Speaker 3: have Brandon Jennings who has a name you and.
- 38:48Speaker 1: He's in that garage packaging packages.
- 38:52Speaker 3: I think that is so important for people to know
- 38:54Speaker 3: that there's real hustle and grind that goes into it.
- 38:57Speaker 3: Even when you have reached the level to not do it,
- 39:02Speaker 3: you guys.
- 39:03Speaker 1: Still and it's hard, Like it's not easy I think
- 39:05Speaker 1: a lot of people think because like he already had
- 39:07Speaker 1: a name, it's easy to sell close. It's really not
- 39:11Speaker 1: like you have to really get somebody to buy into
- 39:15Speaker 1: what you're doing.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Like there's so many brands.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Yeah, there's so.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Many clothes, Like everybody makes it, and it still takes work,
- 39:23Speaker 3: commitment and when you are choosing to start your own brand, right,
- 39:27Speaker 3: so people think that again you just walk into a
- 39:30Speaker 3: door or show up and things just.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Fall into your lab.
- 39:33Speaker 3: You still have to work for it, and so that's
- 39:35Speaker 3: I think very important for people to know. Do you
- 39:40Speaker 3: feel this sense of empowerment that you have created and
- 39:43Speaker 3: you are continuously creating your own identity outside of your dad?
- 39:48Speaker 1: That's a great question. Hmm interesting, Okay, there's two parts.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Ask me when more time do you feel this sense
- 39:58Speaker 3: of empowerment that you have I've created so what you
- 40:01Speaker 3: have created with Tough Crowd and you are continuously so
- 40:04Speaker 3: every day you continue to create your own identity and
- 40:08Speaker 3: your own brand. Does that make you feel empowered that
- 40:11Speaker 3: Cajun Russell is part of Tough Crowd, She's building this
- 40:14Speaker 3: brand and has nothing to do with being the daughter
- 40:18Speaker 3: of Brian Russell and has nothing to do with your dad.
- 40:20Speaker 3: This is what you're doing on your own, Like, do
- 40:22Speaker 3: you feel this sense of like, wow, I'm doing it.
- 40:24Speaker 2: This is empowering that I am doing this.
- 40:27Speaker 1: You know what's crazy? I have like half and half
- 40:32Speaker 1: feeling okay. So like I feel like I feel super
- 40:35Speaker 1: empowered when I'm like the only woman in the room
- 40:39Speaker 1: and it's a bunch of white men. Yeah, and they're
- 40:42Speaker 1: like really listening to what I'm saying, like they're considering
- 40:45Speaker 1: what I'm saying, they're acting on what I'm saying. Yeah.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I think that makes me feel good empowered. And then
- 40:52Speaker 1: on top of that, I feel like Brandon, who's also
- 40:56Speaker 1: my business partner, he always makes people respect me because
- 40:59Speaker 1: they're times where people will just be like okay, like
- 41:02Speaker 1: we just want to know like what he's saying, like
- 41:05Speaker 1: I'm running I'm running the brand, like he's doing what
- 41:08Speaker 1: I say. Yeah, So I think like when he's like,
- 41:11Speaker 1: oh yeah, I know, like if she doesn't like this,
- 41:13Speaker 1: we're not doing it. Like moments like that make me
- 41:16Speaker 1: feel empowered. And then I'll have sometimes where I feel like, Okay,
- 41:20Speaker 1: what else can I do? Like sometimes I may feel like, Okay,
- 41:24Speaker 1: I could be doing more.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Okay, Wow. So where does that feeling come from?
- 41:29Speaker 1: You know, I don't know. I think it's just in
- 41:31Speaker 1: my own head. Like I feel like I have so
- 41:34Speaker 1: many things like in me, and you know, sometimes you
- 41:37Speaker 1: can only kind of do one thing at a time,
- 41:40Speaker 1: Like I have a lot of passions, like I love skincare,
- 41:43Speaker 1: Like I want to open up a medspot one day.
- 41:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I could totally see that.
- 41:51Speaker 1: So I think about those things too, like I want
- 41:54Speaker 1: to do both, Like I just want to do so
- 41:56Speaker 1: many things at once. But I always like in moments
- 42:01Speaker 1: like that, I just pray, like, God, whatever direction you
- 42:04Speaker 1: feel like I should be in right now, sliding me
- 42:08Speaker 1: that way, I don't. I'm not going to question it.
- 42:10Speaker 1: So I just kind of have to reel myself back
- 42:13Speaker 1: in in those moments and just give that to God.
- 42:16Speaker 1: But I definitely feel empowered when I'm in these type
- 42:20Speaker 1: of meetings with like billion dollar companies, and like that's
- 42:25Speaker 1: just like crazy, like a little black girl up in
- 42:28Speaker 1: here and you're.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Doing it, you know, like you're already doing it. You're
- 42:32Speaker 2: already doing it, and you know we're that's that's incredible.
- 42:36Speaker 2: We're super proud.
- 42:37Speaker 4: So I want to know before we move on about
- 42:39Speaker 4: your creative process. So when you're thinking of a concept
- 42:42Speaker 4: of a piece or whatever, how does it start? And
- 42:46Speaker 4: how do you know when you're done, like like when
- 42:48Speaker 4: you wanted to go to print or to production.
- 42:52Speaker 1: So honestly, like I have such random creative like moments.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Are you like laid up?
- 42:59Speaker 1: Oh yeah, like I'm a night out, Like I'll be
- 43:04Speaker 1: up just like scrolling all night. But like ideas just
- 43:07Speaker 1: pop in my head. Like it could be random, Like
- 43:09Speaker 1: I could just be listening to like some R and
- 43:11Speaker 1: B music and I'll just have a random idea like oh,
- 43:14Speaker 1: a shirt idea come into my head. I could see
- 43:16Speaker 1: something on TV, one little thing like a jewelry piece
- 43:19Speaker 1: or something and be like, oh, I can make So
- 43:22Speaker 1: it's just like random really, And the process is either
- 43:27Speaker 1: like sometimes like in the beginning, I would draw it
- 43:30Speaker 1: like just with the pencil, or I will do it
- 43:34Speaker 1: on my iPad, or I will hit up my designer
- 43:38Speaker 1: I be like can you like do you feel me?
- 43:41Speaker 1: Are we aligned?
- 43:42Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 43:43Speaker 1: And we'll just go back and forth and like he'll
- 43:45Speaker 1: mock it up for me. So like those are all
- 43:48Speaker 1: the processes, but literally just random like good vibes like
- 43:53Speaker 1: usually in my house, like we play music, we have
- 43:57Speaker 1: friends over, like you know, like kickback Vine. I think
- 44:00Speaker 1: I get inspired in those moments too, just like everybody around.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Like I don't even know why that sparks creativity.
- 44:09Speaker 4: Because it's your circle and everybody has you know, that's creativity.
- 44:12Speaker 2: It's kind of like you know, buzzing.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and then you're looking at everybody's outfits that's coming in,
- 44:17Speaker 1: like you're looking at what everybody likes.
- 44:19Speaker 2: Conversation. Yeah, that makes sense, It does make sense.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Like you guys, I mean I've been watching and following
- 44:26Speaker 3: your brand for a long time, and you guys keep evolving,
- 44:30Speaker 3: and so I'm like, the creative juice has clearly never stopped.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Because it's like even though like.
- 44:35Speaker 3: You guys have a minimalistic approach when it comes to
- 44:38Speaker 3: like the color way and like it's very simple, and
- 44:42Speaker 3: so I just know that there's a lot of love
- 44:46Speaker 3: and thought and intention that goes into the creativity because
- 44:49Speaker 3: it's so simple, but it's so bold at the same time.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, you see it, and so that's why
- 44:55Speaker 2: a lot.
- 44:55Speaker 3: Of people gravitates resonating. So we have some here that
- 44:59Speaker 3: we want to just show.
- 45:02Speaker 2: The packaging detail.
- 45:05Speaker 1: This is the small details details.
- 45:10Speaker 2: So thank you.
- 45:11Speaker 3: So you see the camera on my camera, which camera
- 45:14Speaker 3: should we focus on?
- 45:16Speaker 4: And then I'm here, So just kind of walk us through.
- 45:18Speaker 4: We won't take about the bad, but walk us through what.
- 45:20Speaker 2: We have here.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Okay, So I give you guys a lot of little things.
- 45:27Speaker 2: There.
- 45:28Speaker 3: This is like I just can't even just because I
- 45:33Speaker 3: was not expecting this.
- 45:36Speaker 1: I'm glad you got you.
- 45:37Speaker 2: Look at just look at the it's beautiful. This hostile.
- 45:41Speaker 2: So where did hostile territory?
- 45:43Speaker 1: Just like okay, so hostile territory is like the alter
- 45:47Speaker 1: ego of tough crowd. Okay, So like tough crowd is
- 45:51Speaker 1: more I feel like, you know, editorial, and then hostiles
- 45:55Speaker 1: hostile like.
- 45:56Speaker 2: That's a little edgier occasion comes in this.
- 46:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know that's like my brother's lane. So
- 46:04Speaker 1: like we gave so yeah, so anything that's really with
- 46:08Speaker 1: the hostile titory vibe, that's like things that my brother's designing.
- 46:14Speaker 2: I love that you guys are the pink pink.
- 46:19Speaker 1: That's for the golf course.
- 46:20Speaker 2: So girls, I love as I love Advisor. I look,
- 46:26Speaker 2: I'm gonna be diving into this.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Episode.
- 46:30Speaker 2: It's gonna be all tough.
- 46:31Speaker 3: These jeans I have on now the gens sure, the
- 46:35Speaker 3: chain is fire, the like everything.
- 46:39Speaker 1: They're tall friendly, which is I love this.
- 46:43Speaker 2: I love that for my we gotta we gotta have that.
- 46:46Speaker 2: I love everybody around.
- 46:49Speaker 1: I don't feel like I'm too too tall. I'm like
- 46:51Speaker 1: five eight.
- 46:52Speaker 4: You're considered tall, I think after five six seven normally tall.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you, thank you so much. Oh my god,
- 47:01Speaker 2: I cannot wait. I'm so excited. You know, like you
- 47:04Speaker 2: are out in l a proud.
- 47:06Speaker 3: When I saw it, I was my wig got snatched
- 47:09Speaker 3: almost my wig was almost.
- 47:11Speaker 2: What I know, there's no there's no wig, But I
- 47:15Speaker 2: love saying that with this child. Y'all want to play
- 47:20Speaker 2: some games.
- 47:20Speaker 5: Let's do.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Let's play some games, which like I think you have
- 47:24Speaker 3: the card right, yeah, A kind of answer that so
- 47:29Speaker 3: you'll be yeah, we can all answer though, okay, answer
- 47:33Speaker 3: to Okay, we'll have to two choices.
- 47:36Speaker 2: You can pick this or that. Okay.
- 47:38Speaker 4: Are you ready fashionably uncomfortable or comfortably unfashionable?
- 47:44Speaker 1: Mm hmmm. I don't have to be comfortable period.
- 47:50Speaker 3: So we said that yesterday, Like actually I said comfortably
- 47:54Speaker 3: unfashionable because of my like mommy era. Yeah, but you
- 47:59Speaker 3: get you also got that. I did I changed my answer?
- 48:03Speaker 2: Okay, so we're all gonna be uncomfortable.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Look that I need to get it off.
- 48:10Speaker 3: But what do you The heels are just uncomfortable. We're
- 48:13Speaker 3: gonna be walking like this.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Whate for the picture? You have to he changing? True?
- 48:19Speaker 4: True?
- 48:19Speaker 1: True?
- 48:20Speaker 2: Do you get your clothes ready? Sorry? Do you get
- 48:22Speaker 2: your clothes ready to go to the airport?
- 48:23Speaker 3: Like?
- 48:23Speaker 2: Do you have an airport outfit?
- 48:25Speaker 1: I do? And listen, I live with somebody who literally
- 48:28Speaker 1: changed their clothes three times a day. Not Brandon, Yes,
- 48:31Speaker 1: he does, like low key in competition like who is
- 48:37Speaker 1: the airport? Fly is? Like, yeah, we do all of that.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Yeah, oh my goodness. Okay, keep it safe or be bolts.
- 48:43Speaker 2: We already know your answer. Keep it sold.
- 48:46Speaker 1: I don't know how to be safe.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Brian says, keep it safe. What I'm gonna be bolts?
- 48:53Speaker 4: Gonna be both on bolts Actually depends on what it is,
- 48:56Speaker 4: but I'm gonna think it's both.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Okay, planning or spontan.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Oh can we pick both?
- 49:05Speaker 2: No, it's this or that? Pick one?
- 49:08Speaker 4: Which one who leaned towards the most on their normal
- 49:11Speaker 4: day plan?
- 49:13Speaker 1: I need to know what I'm doing, but like I
- 49:16Speaker 1: could be spontaneous to with the right people. Yeah, but
- 49:20Speaker 1: I need a plan, like I need an itinerary.
- 49:23Speaker 2: Yeah, plan, I need a plan.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:29Speaker 4: I think I'm more spontaneous. I would love to be
- 49:33Speaker 4: a plan or have plans or do more planning.
- 49:37Speaker 2: But I think I'm just more of a Yeah. Where
- 49:43Speaker 2: you go r private life or social life? These are social.
- 49:51Speaker 3: I'm private. I need I need a little bit of privacy.
- 49:54Speaker 3: I think I'm more social. I think I'm more out there.
- 49:57Speaker 2: Winning or learning. That's a winning or.
- 50:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with learning because learning leads to winning.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Yes, definitely, that's exactly what I was gonna say learning.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Okay, defense or offense?
- 50:12Speaker 1: I know my answer, Guy's offense, Like what.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Exact opposite defense, I.
- 50:21Speaker 3: Tell y'all, and we're gonna get I think another one
- 50:23Speaker 3: is an NBA question. I can't stand the offense that's
- 50:26Speaker 3: going on in the NBA right now, right now, really
- 50:29Speaker 3: just it really makes me want to snatch my wig
- 50:33Speaker 3: because I can't. It makes you want to snatch these
- 50:37Speaker 3: I cannot stand it. So I'm choosing defense all day.
- 50:40Speaker 3: Do not do not throw up? Another three, don't do
- 50:44Speaker 3: not do it. I want a flash, I know, but
- 50:48Speaker 3: I just be like.
- 50:51Speaker 4: Steph Curry, don't do it, you know, Okay, but we
- 50:57Speaker 4: love a good old school Reggie Miller three we do,
- 51:00Speaker 4: you know what I mean?
- 51:01Speaker 2: But Reggie could do it. Okay.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Cool.
- 51:04Speaker 2: So that goes into the next question. Vintage NBA or
- 51:08Speaker 2: modern NBA?
- 51:09Speaker 1: Vintage that's vintage. I don't know watching right now, we
- 51:16Speaker 1: don't know what we went.
- 51:17Speaker 3: A bunch of offense. That's that's what we're watching right now.
- 51:21Speaker 3: A bunch of jump shots grow.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Up there is true. I like it a little bit
- 51:27Speaker 1: vintage always.
- 51:28Speaker 4: The vintage was just I mean, just why do you
- 51:31Speaker 4: miss the NBA song?
- 51:33Speaker 1: I still when they play the old games like I'm
- 51:36Speaker 1: watching them.
- 51:37Speaker 2: I'm just like, this is yeah, brings back vibe.
- 51:42Speaker 1: Vintage.
- 51:43Speaker 2: Okay, cajun. This one's for you. Streetwear or luxury guys.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Can we mix them together?
- 51:50Speaker 2: That that's hard for you. I know that's gonna be
- 51:55Speaker 2: hard for you.
- 51:57Speaker 1: I'm really a luxury girl, but I'm really streetwear girl too.
- 52:01Speaker 1: I gotta golox though, because I gotta have my little
- 52:04Speaker 1: certain pieces. Okay, I am just the girls.
- 52:09Speaker 2: You are just the girl.
- 52:10Speaker 1: But I love George, I love bag. I think you
- 52:14Speaker 1: love my dream collabor of Chanels, got gray bag over.
- 52:19Speaker 4: There might be missing he said, it might be missed?
- 52:26Speaker 4: Is sweet Inmara's head and that Chanel neutral tones or oh,
- 52:34Speaker 4: I'm sorry luxury or streetwear.
- 52:38Speaker 2: Luxury? Okay, that makes sense.
- 52:40Speaker 1: It's so hard.
- 52:41Speaker 2: It's hard not to.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Like, did y'all see how fly our moms used to be?
- 52:46Speaker 2: The way that they would be dressing for the games?
- 52:48Speaker 3: Like there's times like at old pictures and I'm like,
- 52:52Speaker 3: y'all did this for everybody?
- 52:53Speaker 2: Every She's like, yeah, we did it out and I'm
- 52:57Speaker 2: very relevant for today.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Yeah. Like I used to say, in my mom's bathroom
- 53:01Speaker 1: and like literally watch her, watch her get ready.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I was definitely in the bathroom, Yeah, watching there.
- 53:09Speaker 3: You know, I don't think i've ever and I don't
- 53:12Speaker 3: know if this is you with your mom. I don't
- 53:14Speaker 3: think I ever really see my mom wearing sneakers like
- 53:17Speaker 3: my mom has never won.
- 53:19Speaker 1: My mom is going to do a loafer and if
- 53:20Speaker 1: it is a sneaker, it's going to be a label.
- 53:24Speaker 2: She said, Yeah, and that's okay.
- 53:28Speaker 3: I love that for him. You know, that's what my
- 53:32Speaker 3: mom would say. She looked, they did that thing beautiful.
- 53:35Speaker 4: But now she's making her own tennis shoes and then
- 53:38Speaker 4: like this, this is one of the kind sneakers.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Okaccasion neutral tones or bold.
- 53:45Speaker 1: Colors, neutral tones? Yeah, yeah, I agree. My mom be like,
- 53:53Speaker 1: you got to put some color in there.
- 53:55Speaker 2: I'd be like, like a little color, but neutral. I like.
- 53:58Speaker 2: I like my browns, my blacks with you like.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Looks so good.
- 54:03Speaker 3: I love even like if it is a neutral and
- 54:05Speaker 3: like one little like a hot pink.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Or TiAl maybe that's my phone case. Yeah, or the
- 54:14Speaker 2: nail I do love doing that, like bringing in with
- 54:17Speaker 2: the nails. That is cute.
- 54:18Speaker 4: Yeah sure, Okay, oversized are fitted, you know honestly?
- 54:25Speaker 1: Okay for real? For really depends on my mood. Yeah,
- 54:28Speaker 1: but I like to really dress like I like to
- 54:32Speaker 1: be like swaggy, so I'm gonna say baggy, but I
- 54:35Speaker 1: might have like something tight somewhere. But I love like
- 54:40Speaker 1: a baggy fit.
- 54:43Speaker 3: I do think I when was the tight the skinny jeans?
- 54:47Speaker 3: That was what five years ago? I am really happy
- 54:50Speaker 3: that we're out of that. I'm not gonna lie the boyfriends.
- 54:53Speaker 3: I don't have to suck it. I don't have to
- 54:54Speaker 3: suck in my tummy. I love oversized y'all see the baggage.
- 54:59Speaker 2: It's baggy. I can hide, you know, when my stomach
- 55:02Speaker 2: get right and.
- 55:07Speaker 4: I've gotten rid of most of my I think I
- 55:08Speaker 4: have maybe one pair of skinny jeans, but they are
- 55:11Speaker 4: high and like, you know, they have a nice little
- 55:13Speaker 4: They're not They're not like remember we were wearing the
- 55:15Speaker 4: skin Yeah.
- 55:17Speaker 1: I mean looking back at pictures like.
- 55:22Speaker 2: This era, just being able to just be in the bag. Yeah,
- 55:26Speaker 2: I love it.
- 55:27Speaker 1: I love them.
- 55:28Speaker 4: Let's see, we've already talked about sneakers or heels.
- 55:31Speaker 2: I think we know what that answer is. Sneaker heels.
- 55:35Speaker 2: What are you saying sneaks? Yes, I think after COVID cod,
- 55:41Speaker 2: I just do you.
- 55:43Speaker 1: I love how they look like. I love how they
- 55:46Speaker 1: make my legs look like. I don't want to actually
- 55:49Speaker 1: wear them, like all night.
- 55:51Speaker 3: I have if I want to wear them, but if
- 55:54Speaker 3: it's like, I will put on heels before I put
- 55:57Speaker 3: on sneakers.
- 55:57Speaker 2: If I'm going somewhere love.
- 56:02Speaker 3: Casual, obviously sneakers. I'm going somewhere, I gotta put on
- 56:05Speaker 3: a heel.
- 56:06Speaker 4: But some people when they're going to the grocery store,
- 56:08Speaker 4: they have on heels.
- 56:09Speaker 2: We're not doing it.
- 56:10Speaker 1: Yeah, crazy I don't like if I have to.
- 56:13Speaker 2: If I have to, Yeah, I agree, I'm with you there.
- 56:16Speaker 2: So before I'm going to do one more.
- 56:18Speaker 4: But I have a question about when you get dressed
- 56:19Speaker 4: and the thought process behind. Since you guys get have
- 56:22Speaker 4: on three and four outfits a day, we have to
- 56:25Speaker 4: talk about that process. Okay, last one. Prove them wrong
- 56:30Speaker 4: or prove yourself right?
- 56:32Speaker 1: Mmm? Prove them wrong. I'm always right.
- 56:35Speaker 2: Oh you know what occasion. I like the way you
- 56:38Speaker 2: think because I'm never wrong.
- 56:40Speaker 1: So even when i'm wrong, I'm right.
- 56:43Speaker 3: Okay, a part somewhere, that part, I'm with you, I'm
- 56:47Speaker 3: the same one.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Yeah, before can we just do tattoos?
- 56:50Speaker 4: Absolutely, it's all a part of it, Like it's all
- 56:52Speaker 4: I mean, this is about her style and how she
- 56:54Speaker 4: gets dressed, and like I want to know how you
- 56:57Speaker 4: like your thought process is behind an event.
- 56:58Speaker 2: Like we're gonna do all of this, so let's start
- 57:00Speaker 2: with the tattoos. Let's go give us a tour.
- 57:02Speaker 1: Oh, guys, I have a lot of tatts, and so
- 57:08Speaker 1: I always loved tattoos, like always, so I had a
- 57:14Speaker 1: lot of little tattoos. I never like really knew anybody
- 57:18Speaker 1: that had a lot of tattoos. I met Brandon is
- 57:23Speaker 1: covered covered completely, and when I her, she was not.
- 57:27Speaker 1: I was I had little one girl, I were hitting.
- 57:33Speaker 3: I hadn't seen that one drop of ink when I
- 57:35Speaker 3: met Cajun. So now I see her and I'm like,
- 57:38Speaker 3: what happened?
- 57:39Speaker 1: I'm a walking camvus.
- 57:40Speaker 2: Yeah she is.
- 57:41Speaker 1: She is, But I am my mom's rebel child. So
- 57:47Speaker 1: a lot of things like I had to wait to
- 57:50Speaker 1: do because my mom would be like, what are you doing?
- 57:54Speaker 2: That's right?
- 57:55Speaker 1: Like even I think my mom was so like, I
- 57:57Speaker 1: have some face tattoos right here.
- 58:00Speaker 2: They're beautiful, though.
- 58:01Speaker 3: The one I was talking every time Cajun gets a
- 58:04Speaker 3: tattoo and I see it on Instagram, I d M
- 58:06Speaker 3: you you know you're like, I'm like, no, let me see.
- 58:10Speaker 2: Can we show this one?
- 58:11Speaker 1: And then like I would love to show you guys
- 58:15Speaker 1: all my tattoos. I'm just so covered.
- 58:17Speaker 2: But she pointed to.
- 58:21Speaker 1: So this was my first portrait tattoo, and who is that?
- 58:29Speaker 5: Why?
- 58:31Speaker 1: I think, like, just women empowerment for real, just being in.
- 58:37Speaker 1: I really got this tattoo for that reason. And I
- 58:41Speaker 1: never really was into the whole women empowerment thing until
- 58:45Speaker 1: I actually saw, like what women go through to have
- 58:49Speaker 1: some type of success whatever that means for anybody. So
- 58:55Speaker 1: that was really the meaning behind this. And then I
- 59:00Speaker 1: I have Maleficent right here. You can't really see it, guys.
- 59:03Speaker 4: These are all strong character y Instagram, and I think
- 59:08Speaker 4: on my Instagram, I.
- 59:09Speaker 1: Have Pam Grier that is like one of my favorite actresses.
- 59:12Speaker 1: She's a seventies actress. But my dad, daddy Foxy Brown.
- 59:17Speaker 1: My dad used to play her movies in the car,
- 59:20Speaker 1: so like I always loved her. Yeah, so I have
- 59:23Speaker 1: to tatter on the body.
- 59:24Speaker 2: Absolutely well.
- 59:25Speaker 3: I think this is, you know, perfect time to segue
- 59:29Speaker 3: into impersonating greatness.
- 59:30Speaker 2: I'm talking about daddy, right.
- 59:32Speaker 4: You know, we have a signature moment on Born to
- 59:36Speaker 4: the Game called impersonating greatness.
- 59:38Speaker 2: So you are Brian Russell's daughter.
- 59:40Speaker 4: Okay, so can you give us the best impersonation of
- 59:45Speaker 4: your dad?
- 59:46Speaker 2: Or it could be a.
- 59:46Speaker 1: Phrase, oh my gosh, this is so hard. Oh my gosh, guys. Okay,
- 59:59Speaker 1: my dad not a game banger, but like he's always
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: saying becauz. So like he'll be like, yeah, because what's
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: up cuz like he'll be talking like that. I know, terrible,
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: but like that's like funny, Like he always does that
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: and we all like joke with him, like you're from Utah,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: like you're not a game.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: Stop.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: But that's like a little funny little joke. He'll be like,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: what's up, Cuz like he'll be trying to act like
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: about that. We'd be like like what.
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: We all Calabastas and you're talking about what's up?
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: Because yeah, he'll like he'll always call us saying that like,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: which is so funny.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: That is hilarious.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: He's gonna be like, c stop, It's so funny because
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: it's like, bro, like you're literally played.
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: Basketball, You're not You're not about that life.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: We love that. That was good. That's good.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: Good.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: So we also ask all of our guests on Born
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: the Game to bring one object that represents their legacy,
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: who they are and where they're going.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: What did you bring today?
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: So I don't really have an object. I guess I
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: have my clothes, absolutely because that will be a part
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: of my legacy. Absolutely, But honestly, I feel like my
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: legacy I'm like just getting started. Absolutely, yeah, So I
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: feel like I have so much opportunity to create, like actually,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: what my legacy will fully be. I know that showing
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: like hustle work and things like that are things that
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: I want to show, Like, those are really important to me,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: Like when I have kids, if I have daughters, I
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: definitely want them to know that they were not just
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: put on this earth just to be a mom or
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: be a wife, like you can be something outside of that.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: So I think that is important to me. As far
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: as legacy and what you want to be. Yeah, remember
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: it as what you want people do everything. I want
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: you to have twenty different things. She did this, she
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: did that, she did that, So that's really.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: You really have.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: And I also want to add that you're kind. You're
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: very kind, very giving. You are a beautiful spirit and
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: great energy, and so that also ties into just who
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: you are and the legacy that you're creating and that
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: you're going to continue.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: To That's something also that my dad always like, you
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: have to treat people nice, like He's like, it doesn't
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: matter what they do to you, like you have to like,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: so I always try to be kind. I try so
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: hard to always be positive. Those are things that I
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: really do try to do. So I appreciate that. So
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: before we.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: Go, can we just give? Can she give us? Just
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: like some a fashion tip or something. Yes, we'll do
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: a fashion Yeah, just something quick that you know you
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: always have your closet like you always or even like.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: Pieces we should have on our own and tough crowd
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: that wen y.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Yeah, so I feel like everybody. Okay, we talked about
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: the jeans. You gotta have a baggy jean that fits
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: over the shoe, like, okay perfectly. That is like a
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: go to for me. You definitely have to have a
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: good hoodie because you can wear a hoodie so many ways.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Like normally I will crop my hoodie in my brawl
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: that No, that's just such a and it's still oversized,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: but you still see your shape.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Okay, so yeah.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: That's yeah, you like you could just dress it up anyway. Yeah,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: for sure. I love dinim, so anything best like denim,
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: I love it. Guys. Let me see another thing that
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: you should have. You should absolutely have, guys, A cute
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: crop top. Okay, I gotta have a crop because I'm
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: going to wear that with maybe like a zip up
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: with my baggy jeans. If I don't want to be
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: like super I'm not really in my super revealing era,
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: so I do want to show like a little bit,
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: but like I love like the baggy look like we
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: talked about earlier, So definitely that I would say you
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: have to have at least one to two designer sneakers.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: I have to preferably Rick Owens. Oh yeah, I love Ricos.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: I don't have any look it up.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Okay, I love those. I have a Marri's on today,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: but are my favorite? What else?
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: What up for the guys?
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: For the guys, you know you guys, you're on your
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: own about that. Brandon can wear anything and make it
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: look cool. That's like because he's tatted and like all
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: the jewelry whatever whatever. I don't even necessarily think you
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: need like jewelry though, Like I love jewelry, but I
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: feel like I can make any outfit cute, like no
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: matter what, Like I'm gonna do a tuck, I'm gonna
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: do something like these jeans. I have buttons on the
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: side so that you can give a different little you
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: can them like if you don't want them as baggy
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: at the bottom.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: I love those are cool again little detail.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think those things you do need. But
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: if we are going to jewelry, earrings, guys.
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm really bad with it.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: Hey, but you did it, But I gotta have a
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: ring or to on. I love rings.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: But yeah, perfect, What is one thing that you would
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: say to your dad, if there's anything that you would
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: say to him, what would you say?
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: I talk to that man every day, but I always
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: tell my dad I love him, I appreciate him. One
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: thing I really appreciate my dad for is I feel
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: like a lot of my self love comes from him.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: Like my dad was always like, you don't need no
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: man but me, Like that was always what my dad
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: told me, and I feel like that really applies to
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: a lot of things with me, Like I never look
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: for validation or like obviously everybody wants to be loved,
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: but I think my dad really gave me my confidence
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: for real, because every day like you're the shit, Like
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: that's literally how my dad talks to my brother, my
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: sister and I. So I really do want to thank
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: my dad for that.
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: Yeah, you, well, we do have one more surprise for
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: you that we want to show you.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: That's okay, lovely, let me ask surprise.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Oh no, yeah, I can't hold water.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: Now, mister.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: I told you guys that I have this man wrapped
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: around my finger now, mister, and he has a tough crowd.
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: I am so proud of you. I love you more
- 1:07:29Speaker 5: than life. I'm proud that you out there doing your
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: thing with the tough crowd, with the nails. Just being
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: a bright, young intelligent woman could make your daddy no
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: more prouder than what he is. You're a young queen.
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: Now keep doing what you do. Daddy, love You got
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: a surprise for you.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: You have another surprise, all right, I don't know about
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: the other one surprise. Let's let's have our other so fast? Oh?
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: Is it our song? Me and my dad song?
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: It may or may not.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: That's really cute. Guys, don't make me cry out.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: He organized this.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: Yeah, my dad calls me every time this song comes
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: up on his playlist every time. It doesn't matter what
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: time it is. Definitely.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: Oh it's a good song, so good.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: This has like been my favorite song since a little girl.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: He said that he would sing it to you.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: He still does.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: Your daddy organized I love get very specific instructions on
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: when to play this. He said, play my video first
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: and then the song, because this is our song.
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: It is. I love him.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: That was so.
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: Fun, just keeping it's okay.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: He special. Yeah, he literally sings that song to me
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: till this day, yeah, whenever it comes up.
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: And I think it's really good for viewers to just
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: know how beautiful the dynamic is between you and your
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: dad and how he really shaped who you are today
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: and who you continue to become. I think it's so
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: beautiful and really inspirational. I think to even other dads, yea,
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: whether you're in this lifestyle or not, just having such
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: a positive impact on your daughter's not your kids, but
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: really your daughters.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: It really does matter.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: It really does matter, and the simplest thing can make
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: the biggest difference, just being there, right, And I love
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: that you have that and you get to carry that
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: along your journey for the rest of your life and
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: you can pass it down to your children one day.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: I'm very grateful and yes for that.
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, this is so fun.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: We're done.
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: We got Evan over there, Like, we're not done.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: This was so fun. The conversation was beautiful.
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: I know viewers will just see you in a different light,
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: so like, oh, you know, a lot of the times,
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: as being a kid in this people don't really get
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: to know you for you.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: People can google your dad.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: And you know, get all the information about him, but
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: it's really about the viewer getting to occasion and who
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: she is. And I really feel like your energy and
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: who you are was able to just shine today and
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: you guys, thank you.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: I love what you guys are doing.
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: How can how can people tell us about how people
