- 0:40Speaker 2: name is Michael Bennett. And if you want to give
- 0:41Speaker 2: us a call, you can do that five O two
- 0:43Speaker 2: three eight four fourteen fifty. If you want to text
- 0:46Speaker 2: us on the Whiskey Thief text on, you can do
- 0:47Speaker 2: that five O two four to one four fourteen fifty.

- 0:53Speaker 2: forgot to put a tweet out that we're on today.
- 0:54Speaker 2: But oh well, I am the worst, now, I know exactly.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I am the worst when it comes to me tweeting stuff.
- 1:02Speaker 2: But I do my best to do it. And but
- 1:05Speaker 2: as you can tell, Jason, uh, Jason, where did that
- 1:08Speaker 2: come from? Who is Jason Matthew. Matthew Childress is on
- 1:13Speaker 2: with us as well as even Brandford. Ian, I know it,
- 1:18Speaker 2: I just stop. I just might as well. I have
- 1:21Speaker 2: just totally messed up the entire intro to the show.
- 1:24Speaker 2: But you know what, I don't. I don't really care.
- 1:26Speaker 2: But Ian Branford, is that right? Blandford? Okay, Blandford. I'll
- 1:31Speaker 2: get it right. I know it'll be the last day
- 1:34Speaker 2: when you're gone. I'll get absolutely correct. It's kind of
- 1:37Speaker 2: like la familia. I could never say that for the
- 1:41Speaker 2: longest time. No, I could not. I would say laf amilia,
- 1:46Speaker 2: or it would be completely something else. La familia. I
- 1:50Speaker 2: just I still pronounce it incorrectly, but it's la familia.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Did you ever take a Spanish class?
- 1:55Speaker 2: Yeah? Absolutely, I barely passed.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Makes sense with with you saying.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Laugh welcome Ian Co. Yeah, it's the first time I
- 2:09Speaker 2: seen you your face. I mean, it's always been where
- 2:13Speaker 2: I was gone and you were here. I assume you
- 2:16Speaker 2: were sitting right here or.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Usually I said right there. It's always how I do
- 2:21Speaker 5: when we'd do it over on remote.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Yeah. So anyway, but uh, you were I want to
- 2:27Speaker 2: talk about something you were talking to me about in
- 2:31Speaker 2: just a little bit, not yet, as Matthew just takes off.
- 2:35Speaker 2: We were getting ready to talk about something. He had
- 2:37Speaker 2: a big weekend this weekend, and he just walks away. Okay,
- 2:40Speaker 2: well we gotta wait on Matthew to come back. All right,
- 2:43Speaker 2: thank you, Matthew.
- 2:44Speaker 4: All right, I heard the weather alert going off. Oh
- 2:48Speaker 4: oh yeah, we got kicked off. We had a good
- 2:50Speaker 4: solid five two minutes of airtime.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Are you kidding me? All right? Is something going on weatherwise?
- 2:56Speaker 4: I don't know. I just hear the weather alert going
- 2:58Speaker 4: off right now. It's going to the radio.
- 2:59Speaker 2: And we're out on the radio right now.
- 3:01Speaker 4: We're not.
- 3:01Speaker 2: We're on stream, so we're on YouTube. Okay, well we'll continue.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Oh we're on YouTube and stream all right? Then? Well, hello,
- 3:06Speaker 2: if you want to listen to us on YouTube, you
- 3:08Speaker 2: can do that. Well, they already know how to get
- 3:11Speaker 2: to it if they're already on it. But what is it?
- 3:13Speaker 2: You look up w Big X Sports Radio. That's it,
- 3:17Speaker 2: Big X Sports Radio, Loivell and you get to watch
- 3:19Speaker 2: this on YouTube? So is anybody on YouTube?
- 3:22Speaker 4: Not? Right now?
- 3:22Speaker 2: Okay? Good, well be because nobody knows we're on the
- 3:25Speaker 2: radio and tweet it out. I didn't tweet it out exactly.
- 3:28Speaker 2: We should tweet it out, all right, I'll let you
- 3:30Speaker 2: tweet it out, or maybe I'll tweet it out.
- 3:33Speaker 4: But uh, anyway, all.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Right, how long do these weather alerts go off?
- 3:37Speaker 3: Is this like a tornado warning?
- 3:39Speaker 4: It's probably just a it's gonna be a blood warning
- 3:42Speaker 4: for how much of rain last night?
- 3:43Speaker 2: I mean, I've literally not going I don't have anything
- 3:46Speaker 2: going off of my radio about weather.
- 3:48Speaker 5: I woke up this morning. I saw this a huge
- 3:51Speaker 5: thunderstorm going outside.
- 3:52Speaker 2: That was fun.
- 3:53Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I woke up at six starting like what, yeah,
- 3:57Speaker 5: exactly go outs on? I see like a whole hurricane
- 3:59Speaker 5: going out there, like it was crazy.
- 4:02Speaker 2: What part of town do you live in? Fisherville? That's right,
- 4:06Speaker 2: you told me that. It says flash flood warning is
- 4:08Speaker 2: what's going on. Uh. These conditions are expected to last
- 4:12Speaker 2: until nine am, so we get an hour of this.
- 4:16Speaker 2: So there you go. How do you know when we're
- 4:18Speaker 2: back on the air.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Well, I have the radio here turned on it so
- 4:20Speaker 4: I can literally here kick on.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Oh you do, okay, So it's kicking on back right
- 4:24Speaker 2: right now. Not yet, not yet, it's still going.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Well.
- 4:29Speaker 4: I don't want to talk about you yapping right now.
- 4:32Speaker 2: I don't want to talk about you until you know,
- 4:34Speaker 2: we know we're for certain on the radio. But because
- 4:37Speaker 2: you had a big weekend this weekend, but I didn't
- 4:40Speaker 2: have much going did you have anything going on this weekend? Ian?
- 4:43Speaker 3: All I had was a grad party in work.
- 4:45Speaker 4: That was it.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Nothing party in work.
- 4:49Speaker 3: It's a it was a boring week And to be honest.
- 4:51Speaker 2: It was do you not go out and have fun? Oh?
- 4:53Speaker 2: I do.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I do go and have fun. I do that on
- 4:55Speaker 3: Thursdays and Fridays.
- 4:57Speaker 2: What's special about Thursdays? I understand Fridays, But why Thursdays?
- 5:02Speaker 5: Because I gotta go to my friend's house up in Owensboro.
- 5:04Speaker 5: He lives on this like giant Like he lives on
- 5:07Speaker 5: his giant house with a bunch of lands. Yeah, he's
- 5:09Speaker 5: got one hundred acres of land, he's got five lakes,
- 5:12Speaker 5: a hot tub. I go there the entire time. In
- 5:15Speaker 5: his basement, has a poker as a poker table. Yeah,
- 5:18Speaker 5: it's got a pool table, it's got a it's got
- 5:20Speaker 5: an entire movie theater. So it's it's it's like it's
- 5:23Speaker 5: like living with Richie rich.
- 5:24Speaker 2: So this is a buddy that goes to Western. Yes,
- 5:27Speaker 2: the buddy will be from Western's great. Not anybody you
- 5:29Speaker 2: knew here you were living in Louisville. But are you
- 5:31Speaker 2: looking forward to going back to Bowling Green to go
- 5:33Speaker 2: back to school?
- 5:34Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 5:34Speaker 2: Are you really?
- 5:35Speaker 4: My parents don't white. I just don't stay in the
- 5:39Speaker 4: house so often.
- 5:40Speaker 2: But I just yeah, but that's a nice you know,
- 5:45Speaker 2: that's a compliment from your parents saying they want you
- 5:47Speaker 2: to hang.
- 5:47Speaker 5: Around with them, you know that, right, Well, yeah, I
- 5:50Speaker 5: know it's a compliment, but it's not the biggest thing
- 5:53Speaker 5: for me. Okay, Nor should it be like I mean,
- 5:57Speaker 5: like being out about so like being white, like being
- 6:00Speaker 5: out and about out and about.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, I thought she did out in the boat,
- 6:03Speaker 4: so okay, it sounds.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Like the last time.
- 6:07Speaker 4: Yeah. Well that's I've been on a boat a long time.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Okay, good, Well that's a riveting story right now, how
- 6:12Speaker 2: we got on boats?
- 6:13Speaker 5: Because you're talking about he sounded like he was out
- 6:17Speaker 5: on a boat, not out and about.
- 6:19Speaker 4: How a boot?
- 6:19Speaker 2: That how boot? Yeah? You know people in Richmond, Virginius
- 6:24Speaker 2: say that, they will say a boat.
- 6:26Speaker 4: I feel yeah, that's their accents.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Class. Yeah, all right, can you tell if we're back
- 6:33Speaker 2: on yet?
- 6:34Speaker 4: We are okay, good, all right, Well, I just wasn't
- 6:36Speaker 4: going to interrupt your very incredible boat story exactly.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Thank you. I really appreciate that. So, uh, I I
- 6:43Speaker 2: know Matthew Ian, Matthew had a big weekend this weekend.
- 6:48Speaker 2: What do you have? Yes, uh, matth Ian, not you,
- 6:53Speaker 2: Matthew too many names? Are you gonna kind of fill
- 6:57Speaker 2: us in? Did we get good news this weekend? Or
- 7:00Speaker 2: did we get bad news on Friday? Because you want
- 7:04Speaker 2: to tell everybody what was going on on Friday?
- 7:07Speaker 4: Yeah, on Friday was really big day for me. I'd
- 7:11Speaker 4: been planning it for months. We'd been talking about it
- 7:14Speaker 4: all week. The United States took down Australia soccer on
- 7:19Speaker 4: Friday that second hour.
- 7:23Speaker 2: No, no, it's not what we're talking about. We're going
- 7:26Speaker 2: to be talking about that because I'm looking forward to
- 7:28Speaker 2: it because that was another big weekend for a team USA.
- 7:32Speaker 2: But that's that's our number two. That'll be the first
- 7:34Speaker 2: segment you get. You do your I'm just sucker. Are you?
- 7:37Speaker 2: Are you nervous about talking about this?
- 7:38Speaker 4: No, I'm not. I'm just making a joke. Okay, thanks,
- 7:41Speaker 4: So Michael knows and a lot of people who listen
- 7:44Speaker 4: here I mean we were pretty open about it. Yes,
- 7:47Speaker 4: we kept the secret for about three months, but as
- 7:50Speaker 4: of Friday, I am now engaged. Congratulations, Thank you, brats,
- 7:54Speaker 4: thank you again. A guy within thirty seconds of actually
- 8:00Speaker 4: asking her almost ruined it.
- 8:01Speaker 2: What all right, so let's go through the whole story.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Because you you said you had gotten a I don't
- 8:08Speaker 2: know you'd planned out something. You never told me what
- 8:11Speaker 2: it was, and I was kind of disappointed you didn't
- 8:14Speaker 2: text me over the weekend and say, hey, she said.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Yes, honestly, just I forgot to tell everybody because it
- 8:21Speaker 4: was Lily an entire day event because we had like
- 8:23Speaker 4: a big party with her family, and so it starts
- 8:28Speaker 4: a family like you, Yes, I mean they're having me
- 8:31Speaker 4: live in their house for a week right now?
- 8:32Speaker 2: All right? Do you do you like her family?
- 8:35Speaker 4: Yeah? I love those people.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Great? Oh do you hear that? Those people? That's I mean,
- 8:39Speaker 2: that's always a negative, right, trying to make it those
- 8:43Speaker 2: they are people, I mean, yes, but the way you
- 8:46Speaker 2: said that, you am I wrong about this? And he
- 8:48Speaker 2: referred to them as those people.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Too, like I love those people.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Okay, good, but it's.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Been planned for about you know, three or four months now,
- 9:01Speaker 4: I asked her parents if it was okay about I
- 9:03Speaker 4: think back in April. Idea kind of came to me
- 9:06Speaker 4: around January February, and then I hired her best friend,
- 9:11Speaker 4: who was a professional photographer. Shout out Savannah Clarkson. If
- 9:14Speaker 4: you ever need photos, you can go look her up.
- 9:16Speaker 4: She's really great.
- 9:18Speaker 2: But wait, her family has known since April, and you
- 9:22Speaker 2: waited until almost July.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Yeah. The reason, well, because the reason behind that most
- 9:27Speaker 4: of her family does not live in Kentucky, Okay, And
- 9:30Speaker 4: so me, her mom, and her sister had been talking
- 9:35Speaker 4: for a couple weeks after that, trying to find a
- 9:37Speaker 4: day where a bunch of people could come from out
- 9:39Speaker 4: of town, Okay and meet up. So like, because we
- 9:42Speaker 4: moved July the fifth, Yes, so we wanted to find
- 9:45Speaker 4: a day before that so that her whole family could
- 9:48Speaker 4: be here. My whole family could be here, and we
- 9:50Speaker 4: could all have some kind of celebration for it before
- 9:52Speaker 4: we leave. And it's just us. So Friday was literally
- 9:56Speaker 4: the only day that it could happen. So if it rained,
- 9:58Speaker 4: it was still gonna happen. If it starring, it was
- 10:00Speaker 4: still going to happen. If one of us was sick,
- 10:01Speaker 4: it was still going to happen. It was the only
- 10:03Speaker 4: the only day could happen. So everything went perfect, which
- 10:06Speaker 4: was which was a blessing. But so we get her
- 10:12Speaker 4: best friend and I went out and like we went
- 10:15Speaker 4: and took a couple of like botanical gardens and stuff
- 10:17Speaker 4: because she loves flowers and stuff like this. And we
- 10:19Speaker 4: went and look at a bunch of areas where I
- 10:21Speaker 4: could go ask couldn't really find anything or else. People
- 10:24Speaker 4: wanted us to like book it as like an event.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Oh no, and like they wanted me to pay like
- 10:28Speaker 4: hundreds of dollars for this, and I was like, that
- 10:31Speaker 4: is not the point of it. So was a surprise.
- 10:32Speaker 4: I'm not going to book this whole event for this.
- 10:34Speaker 4: So we ended up going to Bernheim Forest. Oh wow.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Now did she kind of feel like she knew what
- 10:41Speaker 2: she was going on or was this an absolute surprise?
- 10:44Speaker 4: So she was definitely still surprised, but she could tell
- 10:47Speaker 4: that the way I was acting that day was a
- 10:48Speaker 4: little weird. Like that really, like, so we find have
- 10:53Speaker 4: you ever been to the lookout in Bernheim?
- 10:55Speaker 2: No, I've never been to Bernheim. I had to tell
- 10:57Speaker 2: you about it.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Okay, So it's really pretty, it's really nice worst obviously,
- 11:00Speaker 4: would you drive deep enough into it. There is a
- 11:03Speaker 4: little bridge walk out that like looks out over all
- 11:06Speaker 4: of the hills. Yeah, over Bernheim and Bartstown. It's really nice.
- 11:09Speaker 4: So I took her there. That's we found it was
- 11:11Speaker 4: a really nice place. I had her friend who was
- 11:14Speaker 4: the photographers, get there early stage, like herself there and
- 11:18Speaker 4: basically block it off and like tell people like, hey,
- 11:20Speaker 4: I'm about to photograph a proposal, like you guys, just
- 11:23Speaker 4: wait for a couple of minutes while they do it.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Everybody's like, yeah, sure, no problem, they just waited for us.
- 11:28Speaker 4: So we get there, nobody's there. These two people who
- 11:33Speaker 4: had been like riding their bikes for like six hours,
- 11:35Speaker 4: drenched and sweat smelled terrible walk up behind us. I
- 11:40Speaker 4: have no idea that there. We get to the end
- 11:42Speaker 4: of the lookout and I'm like getting ready to ask.
- 11:44Speaker 4: I turn around. They're staring at me like it's he
- 11:49Speaker 4: and his girlfriend or his wife or whatever, and like
- 11:52Speaker 4: I'm like eyeing these dudes like hey, like you're welcome
- 11:57Speaker 4: to do what you gotta do, but can you make
- 11:59Speaker 4: it fast? And then the dude, I can obviously tell
- 12:01Speaker 4: understand what's going on. He literally looks at me and goes, hey,
- 12:05Speaker 4: you want to take a picture of me? Were posing
- 12:07Speaker 4: on my girlfriend really quick? I was like, excuse me.
- 12:10Speaker 4: He was like, no, I'm just kidding.
- 12:11Speaker 2: We're married.
- 12:13Speaker 4: And then I look at him. I look like and
- 12:19Speaker 4: I get what's going on, Like we're obviously we're not.
- 12:21Speaker 4: I'm not wearing like you know, Derby church, you know,
- 12:25Speaker 4: wedding clothes, but dressed semi nice. His his girlfriend like
- 12:32Speaker 4: opens her eyes really wide because they both know what's
- 12:34Speaker 4: going on. She's like looking at him to stop. Because
- 12:38Speaker 4: Paulina has no idea what's going on. We're just like
- 12:40Speaker 4: looking over around. He then proceeds.
- 12:44Speaker 2: To go no.
- 12:45Speaker 4: He thenceeds to go He goes, no, I'm just kidding.
- 12:47Speaker 4: I'll just ruin your als. Oh my gosh. I look
- 12:54Speaker 4: at this dude like, You're lucky I don't have a
- 12:56Speaker 4: gun on me, because it was this would have been
- 12:58Speaker 4: your last joke you've ever told.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Well, let's not say something like that now, Matthew.
- 13:03Speaker 4: I'm not being understandable though, but I spent like four
- 13:07Speaker 4: months putting this hold again. Random guy is gonna try
- 13:10Speaker 4: and ruin this.
- 13:11Speaker 2: How the guy was he? Oh?
- 13:12Speaker 4: He was like thirty twenty nine something. Yeah, but his
- 13:16Speaker 4: girlfriend or his wife whatever, like understands what he just did.
- 13:20Speaker 4: And she turns around and starts like running, like like leaving,
- 13:25Speaker 4: like extremely truly fast and just left without him, like
- 13:28Speaker 4: got on her bike and left. He was like, where's
- 13:30Speaker 4: she going?
- 13:31Speaker 2: Wow, this the most.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Clueless man I've ever met my entire life. He takes
- 13:34Speaker 4: off after her, and then after that she's like, Pauline
- 13:39Speaker 4: a kind of is understanding what's going on. Unfortunately, but
- 13:42Speaker 4: I asked her. She starts crying and went great. Her
- 13:45Speaker 4: friend took pictures of us, and then after that we
- 13:48Speaker 4: went back into into a to her family's house and
- 13:51Speaker 4: like there was like a big engagement party waiting for her.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Oh night, So she was surprised by that.
- 13:55Speaker 4: I'm sure actually she wasn't because it was supposed to
- 13:58Speaker 4: be a surprise party. But like a week before I
- 14:01Speaker 4: asked her, before the engagement, she went to her family
- 14:04Speaker 4: and asked if they could have a going away party.
- 14:07Speaker 2: And oh, so she thought it was a going away party, yeah,
- 14:11Speaker 2: so not an engagement.
- 14:13Speaker 4: It made it easier because we were gonna stage the
- 14:15Speaker 4: party as a surprise. But then that her asking that
- 14:18Speaker 4: made it a lot easier to like plan everything. So
- 14:20Speaker 4: she already knew about the party, but yeh, she didn't
- 14:21Speaker 4: know was an engagement party.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Yeah, well, congratulation.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Well I appreciate it. Yeah, grats man.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I mean, I know you weren't nervous about the answer,
- 14:29Speaker 2: but you were nervous about the whole process. Is that
- 14:32Speaker 2: fair to say?
- 14:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean one hundred percent, Like I said, there was.
- 14:35Speaker 4: There was literally no other day we could have done
- 14:37Speaker 4: this because she's she's out of town this whole week.
- 14:40Speaker 4: I mean, we work every single day, we move here
- 14:43Speaker 4: in two weeks. Her family can only be here for today.
- 14:46Speaker 4: We had to like a bunch of our family wes
- 14:48Speaker 4: had to like reroute flights and stop in Louisville and
- 14:50Speaker 4: stuff like that. So it was one where I was
- 14:53Speaker 4: actually sick, Like I I my allergies are really bad
- 14:56Speaker 4: on like I think it was like Thursday to wok
- 14:59Speaker 4: up with just gunk in my throat. I couldn't I
- 15:02Speaker 4: could barely breathe. I was congested. I was coughing up
- 15:05Speaker 4: a storm. And we still went out there and did
- 15:07Speaker 4: it in the middle of the forest. I was like, look,
- 15:09Speaker 4: we can't cancel, so I'm gonna do it anyway. Yeah,
- 15:12Speaker 4: but no, I'm really happy about it. I was happy
- 15:15Speaker 4: how it went. I'm excited to get the pictures and
- 15:17Speaker 4: stuff back.
- 15:18Speaker 2: And yeah, because I've told you how I asked my
- 15:20Speaker 2: wife to marry me. Right, he was like on the
- 15:22Speaker 2: toilet or something, right, No, I was not on the toilet.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I mean it wasn't as good, but that probably would
- 15:30Speaker 2: have been better than me. I mean, I'm sitting in
- 15:32Speaker 2: the chair and she's doing the dishes.
- 15:35Speaker 4: You do it on the chair. While she was doing
- 15:37Speaker 4: I went.
- 15:37Speaker 2: And got out of the chair and I went and
- 15:40Speaker 2: put a box in front of her, and she started going.
- 15:44Speaker 4: What's this?
- 15:45Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. And I went down and sat back
- 15:47Speaker 2: in the chair and said, I don't feel so good.
- 15:51Speaker 2: That's how romantic I was.
- 15:52Speaker 5: And then you went to the toilet. The toilet part man.
- 15:57Speaker 3: You should have took notes on this, Gus.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Oh, No, I mean it was like nine years, Michael.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Yeah, we've been dat well, Patricia says we had been
- 16:07Speaker 2: dating ten years. It's not true about about about eight years.
- 16:12Speaker 5: See, that's that's understandable for to say ten years though,
- 16:14Speaker 5: because it's like eight years before you Okay, yeah, what's
- 16:18Speaker 5: to you so long? As they propose.
- 16:20Speaker 2: My immaturity, which is still very clear today.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Everybody has a little immaturity.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I'm not mature. I've never been mature. I just I'm
- 16:30Speaker 2: a I'm a goof and I'm happy with that. But oh, really,
- 16:34Speaker 2: my dad's a lot like that. Oh is he really?
- 16:36Speaker 2: But we've been married thirty two years thirty two years.
- 16:39Speaker 5: Now, so my dad's been about probably twenty five. I
- 16:42Speaker 5: think your dad's been married twenty five since two thousand
- 16:44Speaker 5: and three, it like twenty Is your mom involved in this?
- 16:47Speaker 3: My mom involved in this?
- 16:48Speaker 2: Yes?
- 16:48Speaker 4: What do you mean by that?
- 16:49Speaker 2: Well, because you said your dad has been married, you
- 16:51Speaker 2: didn't say your mom and dad.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Yeah, my mom and dad have been married.
- 16:54Speaker 2: There you go.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Yeah, they've been married for a very long time. Okayat
- 16:59Speaker 5: they've been great. Good for them, just U of L fans,
- 17:02Speaker 5: which is so sad. Yeah, no, it's not the problem.
- 17:05Speaker 5: I think we Then we had the most recent basketball championship.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Fun, Uh no, you didn't.
- 17:11Speaker 4: I don't know why we keep his it not.
- 17:14Speaker 2: You haven't had a basketball championship since nineteen eighty six, Matt.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Is he high or.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Look?
- 17:22Speaker 4: I don't know if I technically legally can comment but
- 17:25Speaker 4: I do know that Luke Hancock has an MVP in
- 17:28Speaker 4: twenty thirteen.
- 17:28Speaker 2: No, it did take a fun for another. Yeah it's not.
- 17:33Speaker 2: It's I'm so sorry that was nixed. So h that
- 17:36Speaker 2: has been canceled?
- 17:38Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Okay, all right then, all right, you can settle down now,
- 17:42Speaker 2: all right?
- 17:42Speaker 5: Uh?
- 17:43Speaker 2: Should we go ahead and take our first? But you
- 17:44Speaker 2: said you had another for Was it the funny story
- 17:47Speaker 2: about the guy that was the story? Did you want
- 17:50Speaker 2: to go find the guy after you had everything done
- 17:52Speaker 2: and just say what a tool you are?
- 17:54Speaker 4: I did, because, like the like I get, he was
- 17:58Speaker 4: just joking. I completely understand. I've made stupid jokes like
- 18:01Speaker 4: that to people before.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Yeah, me too.
- 18:02Speaker 4: This was like four months of lying to this woman
- 18:06Speaker 4: about why I'm going out with this person, why I'm
- 18:09Speaker 4: spending money on this. She didn't even know I had
- 18:11Speaker 4: a ring or anything like that, and I was like,
- 18:13Speaker 4: it's gonna come down to the last second and this
- 18:15Speaker 4: dude's gonna hit a freaking buzzer beater and ruin it.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, well you knew. She was still going to
- 18:21Speaker 2: say yes, But I mean, are you dating anybody?
- 18:23Speaker 4: Ian? Uh? No? Currently not currently? I told her you
- 18:27Speaker 4: Ian good. You don't do it yet.
- 18:30Speaker 2: You got time, Yeah, you got a long time ago.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I was twenty eight before I got married.
- 18:35Speaker 3: My parents did get married when they're in their thirties.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Wow. Really yeah.
- 18:39Speaker 3: My mom was about thirty two, my dad was thirty three.
- 18:41Speaker 4: I th Wow.
- 18:42Speaker 3: They had me in two thousand and seven, so they're
- 18:45Speaker 3: like in their mid.
- 18:46Speaker 2: To late thirties. Good gosh, good for them.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Yeah, develop your frontal low first. It's not a bad idea.
- 18:54Speaker 5: It's not a bad idea.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Develop your frontal lobe.
- 18:57Speaker 5: Okay, that doesn't have it to like thirty too, so
- 19:00Speaker 5: that might be a little while, is that?
- 19:01Speaker 2: Really? I had no ideas.
- 19:04Speaker 5: New studies to show that's more like in your early
- 19:06Speaker 5: thirties and really than you're twenty five.
- 19:08Speaker 2: You're learning this at Western Kentucky University.
- 19:10Speaker 4: I learned that on a website. Oh my gosh. To
- 19:13Speaker 4: teach me that I'm a broadcasting many teach.
- 19:15Speaker 5: Me that you never know you might be broadcasting one
- 19:18Speaker 5: on one. They're gonna teach you how the frontel load develops. Yeah, yeah,

- 19:23Speaker 5: goes the frontal load.
- 19:24Speaker 2: All right, right, thank you? Okay, now, Matthew, stop it,
- 19:29Speaker 2: and we don't need to be getting that uh descript descriptive. Okay,
- 19:34Speaker 2: uh but uh but it's a good uh school as
- 19:37Speaker 2: far as uh oh, it's a great broadcasting school. I
- 19:40Speaker 2: had no idea it was.
- 19:42Speaker 3: They say it's like a top ten in the nation.
- 19:44Speaker 3: That's how they say.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Is it really? They say Western? They yeah, there we
- 19:49Speaker 2: go with today stuff.
- 19:50Speaker 5: The people love Western, the people at Western number one
- 19:54Speaker 5: in the state though, and like from state from actual
- 19:56Speaker 5: state officials.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Who else has a broadcasting school within their school?
- 20:01Speaker 5: Eastern Kentucky kind of has one, but that was very
- 20:04Speaker 5: undeveloped and doesn't have the same budgets Western and then Northern.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Kentucky apparently had one.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Okay is that one? Yeah?
- 20:10Speaker 3: And then another one was UK's kind of starting up
- 20:13Speaker 3: one too.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Now are they really? I didn't know that. But that's
- 20:16Speaker 2: maybe Tom Leech will be there teaching some classes.
- 20:19Speaker 3: You just started doing that, probably a couple of years ago.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I think, yeah, Well, maybe she call me and asked
- 20:24Speaker 2: me to teach a class.
- 20:26Speaker 3: I'm not from UK, I'm not going to the UK.
- 20:28Speaker 4: I don't care about That's cool.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Okay, Well, you're on a UK show right now. So

- 22:48Speaker 1: Uh.
- 22:48Speaker 2: The only best part of Herbie fully Loaded.
- 22:51Speaker 4: It might be the star actress, but I mean that's
- 22:55Speaker 4: not Yeah, I don't disagree.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, Lindsay Lohan. Back in the day she was pretty.
- 23:01Speaker 5: She was now yeah, well she is, but she's singer
- 23:04Speaker 5: mean girls. She looked and mean girls. Yeah yeah, okay,
- 23:07Speaker 5: all right, we can't get off on that. But no,
- 23:10Speaker 5: I never no, I did see that movie with my
- 23:13Speaker 5: boys because.

- 23:18Speaker 4: Such a good movie.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, uh, anyway, let's get to uh, let's get
- 23:24Speaker 2: to a couple of these text messages. One is from
- 23:27Speaker 2: Josh if I will do four four fourteen fifty boat,
- 23:30Speaker 2: I'm big into motor boating. You'll sailor you, But I
- 23:38Speaker 2: love that. You know what that's from? Right, does Matthew
- 23:41Speaker 2: know what that's from? I mean, I know what motor
- 23:43Speaker 2: boating is, Okay, quotes from Okay? Oh yeah, I know, Yeah,
- 23:46Speaker 2: I know motor boating. But that's I don't know what
- 23:48Speaker 2: else I would say, Vince Fawn from a wedding crashers. Oh, yes,
- 23:55Speaker 2: you'll sailor you. But yeah, yeah, well done there. One
- 23:59Speaker 2: person said, hell, yeah, congrats.
- 24:01Speaker 4: Matt Thanks appreciate it. Yeah, we're all surprised. We're gonna
- 24:05Speaker 4: get a lot of those texts.
- 24:06Speaker 2: You think so rant of the day. If you enjoy
- 24:09Speaker 2: regular lazed potato chips, who hurt you? Who put uh
- 24:16Speaker 2: poses one to crave the taste of salty air? If
- 24:21Speaker 2: this applies to you, I hope you stub your toe
- 24:24Speaker 2: and coworker puts fish in the microwave all week, team
- 24:28Speaker 2: ruffles all day.
- 24:30Speaker 4: See this is a great question. I can get behind this,
- 24:35Speaker 4: can't you really? Yeople who like regular lace potato chips,
- 24:39Speaker 4: they don't like flavor.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I love this question. It's be a perfect summertime topic
- 24:43Speaker 2: right here.
- 24:44Speaker 3: You can be the most basic white person.
- 24:45Speaker 5: You're regular regular laser potato chip if you just do that,
- 24:50Speaker 5: the most regular.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on, I gotta go back to this
- 24:54Speaker 2: quote again, the most regular white person.
- 24:56Speaker 3: In the world, basic white person.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Basically. Okay, well, I hate I tell you Lay's regular
- 25:02Speaker 2: potato chips. Here's what I do. Here's what I do
- 25:09Speaker 2: anytime I have either I love eggs salad.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Sandwich, stop it.
- 25:16Speaker 2: I eat chicken salad sandwiches, and I always put my
- 25:20Speaker 2: Laize potato chips inside the sandwich and eat it from there.
- 25:25Speaker 4: Chicken I mean like.
- 25:29Speaker 2: White white bread.
- 25:30Speaker 4: I respect the chips on the sandwich because I do
- 25:33Speaker 4: the same thing. Okay, hold on, hold on, hold on,
- 25:37Speaker 4: hold on. There are just so many better options. Like
- 25:41Speaker 4: it's like, imagine you go to the largest ice cream
- 25:47Speaker 4: parlor in the world with any flavor you can think of,
- 25:50Speaker 4: and you're just like, I'll take the vanilla please.
- 25:53Speaker 2: That's me too.
- 25:56Speaker 4: Flavors you can pick from regular lays.
- 26:00Speaker 2: The bag's empty because it is just about the salt.
- 26:04Speaker 2: It's they're so thin and crispy.
- 26:07Speaker 5: About the salt, salt.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Exactly, all right, go ahead, Ian, go ahead with your
- 26:16Speaker 2: rant against me, because I love the regular lace.
- 26:20Speaker 5: I don't think I've ever heard a man talk so much.
- 26:22Speaker 5: I love about salt. Oh man, don't forget about the
- 26:26Speaker 5: salt on the chip. Oh my crispiness too. With the
- 26:29Speaker 5: salt on it, this springs the flavor out. That just
- 26:32Speaker 5: sounds like the most white person that.
- 26:35Speaker 2: I'm seeing a new light of Ian today. Okay, I
- 26:37Speaker 2: haven't seen this side of you. I usually don't show
- 26:40Speaker 2: it at this time. I'm so tired. But when I
- 26:42Speaker 2: hear it, take, when I hear it, take this bad.
- 26:46Speaker 3: You haven't met that. I haven't met yet.
- 26:51Speaker 2: It just yet.
- 26:52Speaker 3: I probably want to wait another week for that.
- 26:53Speaker 4: Wait brings out a Lamar Jackson takes.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Oh boy, here we go.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Come on, man, you have something terrible in the large
- 27:00Speaker 3: I'm just gonna smack you.
- 27:01Speaker 2: I just think he's one of the most overrated quarterbacks
- 27:03Speaker 2: out there, that's all.
- 27:04Speaker 3: And who do you think is the best quarterback in
- 27:06Speaker 3: the league right now?
- 27:07Speaker 4: Uh man, that's a great question.
- 27:10Speaker 3: You got to take for it.
- 27:11Speaker 2: I think I think that's a fair question. And uh
- 27:15Speaker 2: right now, I can't think of it. It's not Baker Mayfield. Like,
- 27:17Speaker 2: my favorite team is Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and I can't
- 27:21Speaker 2: wait to get rid of Baker Field. I am not
- 27:24Speaker 2: a Fanfield. I don't I don't like. I do not
- 27:27Speaker 2: like Baker Mayfield. No, he's great. I think.
- 27:32Speaker 3: I think he's a good quarterback.
- 27:33Speaker 5: He had a he had a really good beginning of
- 27:35Speaker 5: the season, and I feel like, if you can just
- 27:36Speaker 5: stay more consistent, he could be a good play.
- 27:38Speaker 4: I mean, the dude lost three wide receivers in the
- 27:40Speaker 4: middle of the season. That is true. He had an caliber.
- 27:47Speaker 2: All right. Uh. I would probably say the best in
- 27:53Speaker 2: the league is Josh.
- 27:55Speaker 4: I don't hate.
- 27:57Speaker 3: I don't hate to take Josh Allen.
- 28:00Speaker 2: This mays right now.
- 28:04Speaker 5: I don't hate to say whatsoever. But I think probably
- 28:06Speaker 5: the best quarterback in the league right now. If injuries
- 28:09Speaker 5: weren't such a big problem for him, I'd say Joe Burrow.
- 28:13Speaker 3: He's got some of the best talent.
- 28:14Speaker 2: In the league. I couldn't agree more with that. Terrible No,
- 28:17Speaker 2: this is a perfect take this what do you say? One?
- 28:21Speaker 4: Okay? Look, Ian, I love you, bro. Joe Burrow hasn't
- 28:24Speaker 4: a healthy season in four years. He can't even be
- 28:27Speaker 4: in the conversation. I understand, I understand the talent, but
- 28:33Speaker 4: that's that's that's like me saying.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Uh like, uh talk about Joe Herbert and yeah, I
- 28:37Speaker 3: was gonna say that.
- 28:38Speaker 4: That's that's like, that's like Herbert meet me and me.
- 28:40Speaker 4: He's like, he's my favorite quarterback right now? What Herbert?
- 28:42Speaker 4: What could Herbert do if he had an offensive line?
- 28:45Speaker 4: Josh Allen, this dude is the best quarterback to never
- 28:49Speaker 4: make a super Bowl. He'll never get there ever built
- 28:53Speaker 4: around us.
- 28:54Speaker 2: And Lamar has been to a super Bowl and will
- 28:56Speaker 2: make one.
- 28:56Speaker 4: Jo Josh Allen won an m v P when there
- 28:59Speaker 4: were two quarterbacks with better stats than him at the
- 29:02Speaker 4: MVP position and had better seasons. They just it was
- 29:06Speaker 4: Jared Goff, it was Lamar Jackson. Yeah, they they both
- 29:11Speaker 4: measured up better than he did.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Alan any day every day over Lamar Jackson just let
- 29:18Speaker 2: you know. That's crazy. No, it's not crazy because Josh
- 29:22Speaker 2: Allen is a leader. Lamar Jackson is an individual individual.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Absolutely nothing losses. He continues to not get to the
- 29:32Speaker 2: super Bowl.
- 29:33Speaker 5: So Josh may not see it, but I think Lamar
- 29:35Speaker 5: Jackson is a later leader. They may not show her
- 29:37Speaker 5: that much. But he's definitely a leader as a quarterback. Okay,
- 29:40Speaker 5: the team would suck.
- 29:41Speaker 4: Best quarterback in the league is Matthew Stafford right now.
- 29:42Speaker 4: I'm gonna be honest, you know, I don't.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Hate that either.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's getting up there though. I mean, and
- 29:51Speaker 2: they just gave him a big bonus at the Rams.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Didn't Aaron Rodgers go back to back in Yeah?
- 29:56Speaker 2: And Rogers in that case?
- 29:58Speaker 4: That case? Yeah three years?
- 30:01Speaker 2: Yeah? Oh was he really?
- 30:03Speaker 4: He was still in Isowascah.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Yeah, you remember the video of him being like like
- 30:08Speaker 5: being highl on shrooms and he was just like secluded
- 30:11Speaker 5: in the dark room. Yeah, it's been like what the
- 30:14Speaker 5: like the where was it? Mark Pope and this team
- 30:17Speaker 5: did last season?
- 30:17Speaker 2: Oh my, come on now, Matthew, now come on now,
- 30:21Speaker 2: that's a little bow I want to put. Yeah, college
- 30:25Speaker 2: kids in this is Ohio guy. College kids enjoying partying
- 30:29Speaker 2: on Thursdays because of thirsty Thursdays? Is that what it is?
- 30:32Speaker 2: Is that why you like going on Thursday?
- 30:34Speaker 5: But now Thursday Thursdays, I just go down to my
- 30:37Speaker 5: friend's place, have a good time.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Really Okay, maybe thirsty Thursday those.
- 30:41Speaker 5: Days, but yeah, it's not because I'm going to go party,
- 30:44Speaker 5: but we kind of have our own little get together
- 30:46Speaker 5: and do stuff there.
- 30:47Speaker 2: John here, Hey, Michael, good to hear the show. To
- 30:49Speaker 2: start the week off. I had a great weekend as
- 30:52Speaker 2: an Indian UH state delegate. I think he meant Indiana
- 30:56Speaker 2: state delegate at the GOP convention in Fort Wayne. Indiana.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Also had a great Father's Day with my family. I
- 31:03Speaker 2: hope Kentucky can Land Nicola, Costa Rica. Uh, it would
- 31:08Speaker 2: be awesome for coach Pope and staff after all the
- 31:11Speaker 2: flak uh they got this off season. Uh yeah, I'm
- 31:16Speaker 2: right there too. If they can get uh Costa Rica
- 31:19Speaker 2: to come to UK and then they go next year,
- 31:22Speaker 2: wouldn't it be awesome if he stayed and their summer
- 31:25Speaker 2: trip next year was Costa Rica? Do you take Costa
- 31:28Speaker 2: Rica to Costa Rista.
- 31:30Speaker 4: I think if I was that dude, I'd look at
- 31:32Speaker 4: Mark Pope and be like, that is the corniest thing
- 31:34Speaker 4: someone's ever asked me to do.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, then, U did y'all have a nice
- 31:40Speaker 2: Did you take care of your dad yesterday? By the way,
- 31:42Speaker 2: because it was Father's Day, I had a very nice
- 31:46Speaker 2: Father's Day.
- 31:47Speaker 5: Sent him a happy Father's Day's text, and then we
- 31:49Speaker 5: went to Texas Roadhouse. So we had Oh good, that's
- 31:51Speaker 5: a Kentucky Father's Day right there. That is the best
- 31:54Speaker 5: way to do it. Congratulations, all right, you did a
- 31:57Speaker 5: nice shot, did.
- 32:00Speaker 4: Not hope? Not no, not yet?
- 32:03Speaker 2: Not yet? Matthew, Did you take care of your dad?
- 32:06Speaker 4: I sent him a nice, wonderful Father's Day text, yes,
- 32:09Speaker 4: and then showered him in the five dollars that's in
- 32:12Speaker 4: my bank account.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Okay, good, that's all you listen. Just as long as
- 32:17Speaker 2: you reach out to him and see how much you
- 32:19Speaker 2: appreciate him, that's all that matters. So it doesn't have
- 32:22Speaker 2: to be showered with gifts. Yesterday I got to go.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Uh we went to Churchill Downs. My young oldest son
- 32:28Speaker 2: was here in town. My youngest oneen't able come because
- 32:30Speaker 2: he's in New York, sou but he called me. We
- 32:33Speaker 2: talked to a send amount of time and but we
- 32:37Speaker 2: had a good time at Churchill Downs yesterday. It's good.
- 32:39Speaker 2: I'm at a family from Cincinnati that had never been
- 32:42Speaker 2: to Churchill Downs. That's strange, that's what I thought. So
- 32:47Speaker 2: I took him to the paddock and kind of wrote,
- 32:49Speaker 2: showed him around and yeah, one of the daughters is like, oh,
- 32:53Speaker 2: is one of your son's single the one that lives
- 32:57Speaker 2: in New York because she lived in New York. And
- 32:58Speaker 2: I said, yeah, but you don't want to go.
- 33:00Speaker 4: I might sound like an idiot saying this. Yeah, was
- 33:03Speaker 4: something going on in Churchill Downs Saturday night that was
- 33:05Speaker 4: a big deal.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Yes, what was it? Uh? Their final dawn after what's
- 33:10Speaker 2: it called?
- 33:11Speaker 4: Downs? After Dark?
- 33:12Speaker 2: Downs?
- 33:12Speaker 4: After dark?
- 33:12Speaker 2: Okay?
- 33:13Speaker 4: Because I had a friend who's literally like never been
- 33:15Speaker 4: to Churchill Downs.
- 33:17Speaker 5: Oh that's the night they chose to go. Well, I
- 33:21Speaker 5: talked to him every day, but they play video games together,
- 33:22Speaker 5: and all of our friends were getting together. We're gonna
- 33:24Speaker 5: go play games or something, and he was like, can't
- 33:26Speaker 5: go into Churchill Downs. Like you've never been to Churchill Down?
- 33:29Speaker 5: What do you mean you're going to Churchill Downs? And
- 33:31Speaker 5: then I want. I was on like Instagram layer that day.
- 33:34Speaker 5: I had like twenty friends.
- 33:35Speaker 4: Who were there. I was like, what is going on?
- 33:37Speaker 5: Yeah that makes sense? Yeah it was Sorry. What is
- 33:40Speaker 5: Downs after Dark?
- 33:41Speaker 2: Oh? That's when they do the racing at night and
- 33:43Speaker 2: it's a big party only.
- 33:45Speaker 4: It's only time to go.
- 33:46Speaker 2: Yeah. Fun, it is a lot of fun. I mean
- 33:49Speaker 2: it was jam packed Saturday night. I mean just tons
- 33:53Speaker 2: of people.
- 33:54Speaker 5: Okay, I've only been there like one time when I
- 33:56Speaker 5: was a kid. I think I was like a when
- 33:57Speaker 5: we did this, Okay, and it was not it was
- 34:02Speaker 5: definitely wasn't a night time. It was like a more
- 34:04Speaker 5: of a mid day than.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's most of the time when they race,
- 34:08Speaker 2: but don downs after dark is a lot of fun.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I mean, it's a it's definitely a young scene without
- 34:13Speaker 2: a she need to go.
- 34:15Speaker 4: It's a big u of l thing, like a lot of.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Uh is uh This is from ohile guy is doormat
- 34:21Speaker 2: going to see Michael Bennett and Rutherford at the same
- 34:23Speaker 2: table at his wedding reception.
- 34:26Speaker 4: Don't threaten me, I'll do it. I don't have a.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Problem with Mike Brutherford. I don't know if he has
- 34:32Speaker 2: a problem with me or not, but I've always liked
- 34:34Speaker 2: Mike Brutherford. So it's funny that this guy asked this
- 34:37Speaker 2: question because uh at, I wasn't able to go to
- 34:42Speaker 2: Vince Merrill's wedding when he married his wife. I got invited.
- 34:47Speaker 5: Oh yeah, they like besties, and Vince said, oh, Michael,
- 34:52Speaker 5: I had the perfect table you were gonna be sitting
- 34:54Speaker 5: at and I'm like, oh really, He goes, yeah, You're
- 34:56Speaker 5: gonna sit with Matt Jones and I'm like, thank goodness,
- 35:01Speaker 5: I couldn't go.
- 35:01Speaker 2: And that's when he realized we didn't get along, Me
- 35:04Speaker 2: and you know Country. So it's just like, ah, man,
- 35:08Speaker 2: I would have loved to have seen that table with
- 35:10Speaker 2: me and you know Country sitting I call him Country,
- 35:15Speaker 2: but uh uh yeah, sitting there at the same table
- 35:18Speaker 2: that would have been. I think what it would kept
- 35:20Speaker 2: it civil is the fact that number one, we're at
- 35:22Speaker 2: a wedding. Number two, my wife would have been there
- 35:24Speaker 2: to keep me sensible because she knows she yeah, she
- 35:28Speaker 2: knows how I would react probably, But anyway, I would
- 35:33Speaker 2: be civil with Matt Jones. I mean, I've always been
- 35:37Speaker 2: very nice to Mad It's just it hasn't been reciprocated.
- 35:41Speaker 2: So anyway, I do want to talk about this. Did
- 35:45Speaker 2: you see where Malachi Moreno revealed what Usmain indis nickname
- 35:51Speaker 2: is and he wants fans all the fans that rap
- 35:57Speaker 2: after Usmain hit A three to yell out you know
- 36:02Speaker 2: how they were doing uh oh way, they were going
- 36:04Speaker 2: oh way, oh way, oh way away. Well, now they
- 36:07Speaker 2: want fans to yell out Ooze when he hits a three?
- 36:12Speaker 2: Is that gonna work?
- 36:13Speaker 5: Copying oo We're just copying the Zoo and Freu from Louisville.
- 36:19Speaker 4: No, we're not copying anything. You kind of a copy.
- 36:22Speaker 5: Last year we did the same thing with zubris and
- 36:24Speaker 5: and Zoo and the Frew.
- 36:28Speaker 2: And I don't think he really realizes that that they
- 36:31Speaker 2: were doing that ul because I doubt if he pays it.
- 36:34Speaker 4: I mean, I feel like he would have remembered in
- 36:36Speaker 4: their defense. I mean they do that literally everywhere. It's
- 36:39Speaker 4: not like if there's a Luke that's always Luke or
- 36:42Speaker 4: like it. Like I looked at it.
- 36:46Speaker 2: I don't know if it'll work or not. Do you
- 36:48Speaker 2: think it'll work, Matthew?
- 36:49Speaker 4: I mean how much? How many minutes is it gonna get? Like?
- 36:52Speaker 4: How many threes is to hitting them?
- 36:54Speaker 5: Well?
- 36:54Speaker 2: That and and the other part is since you've announced
- 36:56Speaker 2: it now, is it going to get in his head? Oh,
- 36:59Speaker 2: they're gonna the crowd gonna yell right, and it's gonna
- 37:01Speaker 2: make me miss because I'm expecting the crowd to go crazy.
- 37:05Speaker 2: I don't know, when you get a nickname like that,
- 37:08Speaker 2: I think it can sometimes work against you to where
- 37:11Speaker 2: it gets in your head and you start, oh, man,
- 37:13Speaker 2: the crowd's going to react or the crowd's not going
- 37:15Speaker 2: to react and they're so therefore I'm going to miss
- 37:17Speaker 2: a shot.
- 37:18Speaker 5: Unfortunately, you can definitely, you can definitely like hurt that one,
- 37:22Speaker 5: like ooh you can do like f you what you
- 37:27Speaker 5: could do that?
- 37:28Speaker 2: No can do.
- 37:29Speaker 3: You know if you guys played West Virginia, they would not.
- 37:31Speaker 4: Put that past Alreadly West Virginia. West Virginia fans are brutal.
- 37:36Speaker 2: I've heard that for a long time, and I got
- 37:38Speaker 2: so sick and tired of hearing the whole country roads thing.
- 37:42Speaker 2: I was thankful Lost in.
- 37:43Speaker 5: The colt be true because my dad I used to
- 37:47Speaker 5: work with Dominique Brown, the little running back up and
- 37:49Speaker 5: Standard Sales, and he told my dad this one story.
- 37:53Speaker 5: But one time when they were playing them back in
- 37:54Speaker 5: like twenty ten, that one fan happened to name his
- 37:59Speaker 5: entire family. He went from his aunts, to his cousins,
- 38:02Speaker 5: to his mom's to his mom and dad. He had
- 38:05Speaker 5: all his names somehow, and they said they were gonna
- 38:07Speaker 5: do terrible stuff to them.
- 38:09Speaker 3: And this was before the time. Wow, this before the time.
- 38:11Speaker 5: Internet was really big, and it's wow, crazy It freaked
- 38:14Speaker 5: him out. How how this one fan knew all his names?
- 38:17Speaker 5: And they also used to throw quarters at the awayte section.
- 38:19Speaker 5: Quarters Yeah, like quarters, nickels, dimes.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Real over Louisville. Oh my gosh, okay, all right, well
- 38:26Speaker 2: we gotta take another break. I'd never heard people throwing coins.
- 38:29Speaker 2: What a waste? Oh okay? Well five O two three
- 38:33Speaker 2: eight four fourteen fifty. You want to call five O
- 38:35Speaker 2: two four one four fourteen fifty? Want to text in?
- 38:37Speaker 2: Give me send me some of those texts because I'm
- 38:39Speaker 2: enjoying them, but especially the lace potato chip. I love that.
- 38:43Speaker 2: I love that. Take right there and I'm right by
- 38:46Speaker 2: the way, just to let you know, ruffles is terrible. Uh,
- 38:49Speaker 2: we'll be right back.
- 38:50Speaker 6: This is just a cast right chimes batemans.
- 39:07Speaker 1: The world I love is our job to be the
- 39:11Speaker 1: Blade can't stop for you.
- 39:17Speaker 4: The world I love.
- 39:19Speaker 1: James, I have to be ba Blade count stop.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Come into New when temp.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Two babo two three eight four fourteen fifty. You want
- 39:29Speaker 2: to call fabo two four one four fourteen fifty if
- 39:31Speaker 2: you want to text in on the Whiskey Thief text line.
- 39:34Speaker 5: Uh.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Will Stein had some big UK football recruits over this
- 39:39Speaker 2: weekend and uh one uh being a four star named
- 39:44Speaker 2: James Armstrong? Are you ready for this? And he's the
- 39:48Speaker 2: class of twenty twenty eight, so he's just now finished
- 39:52Speaker 2: his sophomore year going into his junior year of high school.
- 39:58Speaker 2: This dude is is one of the most sought out
- 40:02Speaker 2: twenty twenty eight quarterbacks in the country. His name's James Armstrong.
- 40:06Speaker 2: He's six foot three out of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. I've never
- 40:13Speaker 2: heard of that, and look up we'll see where it is.
- 40:15Speaker 2: But he's barely sixteen years old and has a full mustache.
- 40:20Speaker 2: He doesn't even look like he is sixteen years old.
- 40:24Speaker 2: It is crazy. I mean not only that, but he
- 40:27Speaker 2: not only does he play football and excels at that,
- 40:30Speaker 2: but he plays two other sports, so he's he just
- 40:32Speaker 2: rocks it at three different sports and plus a full
- 40:35Speaker 2: mustache and then has a nickname called Boo Boo. I
- 40:39Speaker 2: guess the UK. Oh yeah, you're exactly right. Already holds
- 40:45Speaker 2: offers from pitt which makes sense since he's from Pennsylvania,
- 40:49Speaker 2: penn State, Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, amongst everyone else
- 40:55Speaker 2: out there that is a football program. So it's pretty cool.
- 40:58Speaker 2: This is the one thing that has in Matthew, I'll
- 41:01Speaker 2: go to you first before I get to u Ian.
- 41:04Speaker 2: The one thing that has flipped so quickly within UK
- 41:08Speaker 2: football and will Stein is the amount of recruits number
- 41:12Speaker 2: one that are coming to UK have already committed, and
- 41:15Speaker 2: number two the amount of commits that are considering UK.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Can you understand can you grasp how quickly will Stein?
- 41:23Speaker 2: Because will Stein made a comment as well over the
- 41:25Speaker 2: weekend he didn't come to UK just to be the coach.
- 41:29Speaker 2: He came in to come home. He came to UK
- 41:32Speaker 2: because he believes he can make this definitely a winning program.
- 41:38Speaker 2: What do you think is that something that just as
- 41:41Speaker 2: quickly as he's done, it is a bit of a
- 41:43Speaker 2: surprise because.
- 41:44Speaker 4: It is to me, No, I mean not really. I
- 41:47Speaker 4: mean Kentucky has a lot of money, they're in the SEC.
- 41:49Speaker 4: That's just something that you can obviously sell to somebody,
- 41:53Speaker 4: to sell us to players coming in. They have a
- 41:57Speaker 4: coach who has put multiple guys into a high spot
- 42:00Speaker 4: finalist list before, so that's gonna give you a quarterback boost.
- 42:02Speaker 4: They have a coach that's played in a college ball
- 42:04Speaker 4: playoff before, been in a college balls, have been final before.
- 42:07Speaker 4: He's obviously not been a head coach in those positions,
- 42:09Speaker 4: but he's an offensive mind a head coach, so that
- 42:11Speaker 4: gives you a leg up on offensive players and you
- 42:15Speaker 4: get the new coach boost. You know, every single coach
- 42:17Speaker 4: transfers somewhere or not transfers, but you know, goes to
- 42:20Speaker 4: a new school somewhere. It doesn't matter how good or
- 42:22Speaker 4: bad they may be. There's always gonna be big names
- 42:24Speaker 4: going to one to play for that guy because they
- 42:26Speaker 4: want to see. You know, you get more money your
- 42:28Speaker 4: first season, you get all these benefits your first season
- 42:30Speaker 4: because people are really buying into the new shiny thing.
- 42:33Speaker 4: So this doesn't surprise me at all. I mean, will
- 42:36Speaker 4: Stein is a fantastic you know, was a fantastic offensive coordinator.
- 42:40Speaker 4: I think he'll be a fantastic coach, So it does
- 42:42Speaker 4: not surprise me. Guys want to play for him, especially
- 42:44Speaker 4: the younger guys on the recruiting trail.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely, Ian, I mean you look at this and
- 42:49Speaker 2: the way he has flipped it. I just I appreciate
- 42:52Speaker 2: what Matthew seening, but the way he has flipped it
- 42:55Speaker 2: to where UK is kind of a little bit of
- 42:58Speaker 2: a place that people are considering now in the amazing
- 43:02Speaker 2: talent that's concerning. Is this a surprise to you.
- 43:05Speaker 3: It's not a surprised at all.
- 43:06Speaker 5: Once he switched away from Mark Stoops, I feel like
- 43:08Speaker 5: you were gonna have a major shift in I think
- 43:10Speaker 5: in the right direction.
- 43:11Speaker 3: With will Stein. He's definitely helped out a lot for
- 43:15Speaker 3: the program.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Oh yeah, absolutely, And I just I'm enjoying that because
- 43:20Speaker 2: I know we always get a lot of attension on
- 43:22Speaker 2: the basketball side because of the deep history that UK's
- 43:25Speaker 2: had for a number of years, but not on the
- 43:27Speaker 2: football side. I did like that. Will Stein posted a
- 43:31Speaker 2: picture over the weekend. If you haven't seen it yet,
- 43:34Speaker 2: go check it out. This is kind of cool. He
- 43:37Speaker 2: had gone to a vintage shop in Lexington and bought
- 43:42Speaker 2: a Jared Lorenzen jersey number twenty two, twenty two, the
- 43:48Speaker 2: hefty lefty. I thought that was pretty cool Ian when
- 43:53Speaker 2: you think of Jared Lorenzen because you weren't around.
- 43:56Speaker 4: Yeah, but I know a little bit about Jared, all right.
- 43:59Speaker 2: All right, So that's the one thing. What what other
- 44:01Speaker 2: memories would you say that I have been brought to
- 44:05Speaker 2: your attention, since you weren't around when Jared played football,
- 44:09Speaker 2: Since I was since what he said again, what is
- 44:13Speaker 2: so hefty left? He is one thing you remember about Jared?
- 44:15Speaker 2: What is something else you remember? You know about Jared Lorenzo.
- 44:18Speaker 5: I know he was he bounced around the NFL for
- 44:20Speaker 5: a very long time because of the weight issues he
- 44:22Speaker 5: always had. He did win a ring with the New
- 44:24Speaker 5: York Giants.
- 44:25Speaker 2: But I think you're right, yeah, right there at that time.
- 44:29Speaker 3: He's like number thirteen there, he's the backup for.
- 44:32Speaker 2: E man Eli. Yeah, Eli Manning. You're right. So that's
- 44:37Speaker 2: one of those things that his former UK coach Rich
- 44:40Speaker 2: Brooks would say. I just I tried to get him
- 44:42Speaker 2: to lose weight and he just couldn't. But uh uh,
- 44:46Speaker 2: I'm curious. Were you a bit of a phantom of
- 44:50Speaker 2: Jared Matthew?
- 44:52Speaker 4: I mean not really, not really. Yeah, I get it.
- 44:55Speaker 4: I mean he's a great quarterback obviously, but it kind
- 44:58Speaker 4: of gives me the vibes that I don't know, it's
- 45:03Speaker 4: a weird situation with Jared Lorenz, Like, I think he
- 45:05Speaker 4: was really good. It was one of those, like you said,
- 45:07Speaker 4: they tried to get him to lose weight, he just couldn't.
- 45:09Speaker 4: I just it's like it's one of those where I
- 45:12Speaker 4: kind of look at him in a little more of
- 45:14Speaker 4: a negative way. It's like, dude, I feel like if
- 45:15Speaker 4: you would have just got right, you would have been
- 45:17Speaker 4: a lot better.
- 45:18Speaker 2: He could have had a longer career.
- 45:19Speaker 4: I get that. Either said that, I'm not, you know,
- 45:22Speaker 4: I understand how difficult it can be. It's but like
- 45:25Speaker 4: I'm just trying to put it myself, Like, if I'm
- 45:26Speaker 4: in the shoes of a guy who's going to the NFL,
- 45:31Speaker 4: there's gotta be more that he could have done, you
- 45:33Speaker 4: know what I mean.
- 45:35Speaker 2: I like that will Stein was wearing his jersey though.
- 45:37Speaker 2: I like the fact that he is out there supporting
- 45:42Speaker 2: the past of UK football. And Jared Lorenzen is one
- 45:45Speaker 2: of those guys. I mean, he stood out more than you.
- 45:49Speaker 2: No offense to Tim Couch, who is probably considered outside
- 45:54Speaker 2: of Babe PERELLI who none of us, two of y'all
- 45:58Speaker 2: I know, don't know who it is, but he's a
- 46:00Speaker 2: player back in the fifties and he was considered one
- 46:03Speaker 2: of the greatest all time. Uh. But but you look
- 46:06Speaker 2: at Tim Couch, you look at Jared Lorenzen, go look
- 46:08Speaker 2: up the video of UK playing against Georgia, and he's
- 46:12Speaker 2: literally uh throwing the ball behind him and the guy
- 46:19Speaker 2: catches it and makes a big run for a big
- 46:22Speaker 2: gain for the UK offense. It was just an incredible play.
- 46:25Speaker 2: But Jared was one of those guys you just he
- 46:29Speaker 2: had that personality you wanted to hang out with. I
- 46:31Speaker 2: love the guy. He became a good friend of mine.
- 46:34Speaker 2: And the funny, the part that's funniest to me about
- 46:39Speaker 2: Jared Lorenzen he never believed that the astronauts landed on
- 46:44Speaker 2: the Moon. He always thought that was an absolute lie.
- 46:48Speaker 2: That's that's a funny. That's a funny. That's what I thought.
- 46:53Speaker 2: But he would try to convince me that no, it
- 46:56Speaker 2: never happened, and there are a number of people out
- 46:59Speaker 2: there that believed. All right, so you believe it happened,
- 47:02Speaker 2: is that right? He ye, all right, Matthew. Do you
- 47:05Speaker 2: believe that astronauts really landed on the moon. Yes, so
- 47:10Speaker 2: do I. But if you talk to Jared Lorenza and
- 47:12Speaker 2: he's like, Nope, never happened. What happened?
- 47:15Speaker 4: What do we get out of not believing it happened?
- 47:17Speaker 2: I don't know. I really don't. That's a great question.
- 47:19Speaker 2: I'd love to ask him right now, and I think
- 47:22Speaker 2: he would just be convincing me that it never happened.
- 47:26Speaker 2: But anyway, we gotta take a break. When we come back,
- 47:28Speaker 2: Matthews giving us an update on World Cup soccer. So
- 47:32Speaker 2: stay right there. More Just Cats coming up.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 47:52Speaker 2: All right, number two. If you want to join in,
- 47:54Speaker 2: you can text him a whiskey te text line at
- 47:56Speaker 2: five oh two four one four fourteen fifty as I've
- 48:00Speaker 2: got Ianford. I got it right this time in Matthew,
- 48:06Speaker 2: chill just with us on this Monday. Ian's with us
- 48:08Speaker 2: every Monday. Which I've enjoyed this stint because you've been
- 48:12Speaker 2: doing this. Now how many.
- 48:15Speaker 3: Weeks I've it's been since.
- 48:20Speaker 4: I believe mid.
- 48:22Speaker 2: May mid May. Okay, so about maybe about six weeks
- 48:26Speaker 2: something there. All right, well, I want you to know,
- 48:29Speaker 2: have you uh this is this is my favorite segment
- 48:32Speaker 2: coming up, just to let you know. Are you a
- 48:35Speaker 2: World Cup fan?
- 48:37Speaker 4: I don't watch soccer one bit?
- 48:40Speaker 2: Sorry?
- 48:40Speaker 4: Sorry, man, You're.
- 48:41Speaker 2: You're killing somebody over here, missing out killing him.
- 48:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:47Speaker 2: My my father in law is in town and uh so,
- 48:51Speaker 2: uh uh he's a big soccer fan. So I've had
- 48:55Speaker 2: to go to other rooms and watch DV You guys.
- 49:00Speaker 4: Are putting in more effort to not keep up with
- 49:02Speaker 4: it than you are to actually just be patriotic for
- 49:05Speaker 4: one time in your life.
- 49:06Speaker 2: I'm not being non patriotic. I'm glad that the team
- 49:10Speaker 2: USA won. But anyway, but all right, this is Matthew
- 49:14Speaker 2: Childers on his weekly or bi weekly no not bi weekly,
- 49:19Speaker 2: twice a week, so a World Cup follow up. All right,
- 49:23Speaker 2: let's hear about it, because it was good news on
- 49:25Speaker 2: Friday night. But I'll let you take over from here, Matthew.
- 49:28Speaker 4: So on Friday night around three pm, while I.
- 49:31Speaker 2: Was doing Friday Night, that's Friday afternoon.
- 49:33Speaker 4: I mean it went to three to six, I mean
- 49:36Speaker 4: Friday evening, whatever you want to call it.
- 49:37Speaker 2: No, that's afternoon. It does not become evening until seven
- 49:41Speaker 2: or eight.
- 49:41Speaker 4: O'clock Friday afternoon, thank you. While I was doing my
- 49:44Speaker 4: engagement stuff, I was keeping up watching the game they
- 49:47Speaker 4: took on the Australian Soccer Ruse is what they're called?
- 49:50Speaker 2: Aren they really soccer ruse? On the soccer Ruse? Okay,
- 49:53Speaker 2: that might be the goofiest.
- 49:54Speaker 4: Thing they took him on in Seattle, which was awesome.
- 49:57Speaker 4: I mean, the the atmosphere in Seattle was so crazy,
- 50:00Speaker 4: was it really? That's such a perfect place to have
- 50:02Speaker 4: that kind of big of a soccer game. It was
- 50:03Speaker 4: so loud in there. It had one of the loudest
- 50:06Speaker 4: crowd pops I've ever heard on television in my entire life.
- 50:09Speaker 4: It was such a cool environment. It was such a
- 50:11Speaker 4: fun game to watch. I broke it down last week.
- 50:14Speaker 4: They play a lot like the team Paraguay they played before.
- 50:17Speaker 4: They're gonna play super defensive and try and play on
- 50:19Speaker 4: the transition a lot in the United States just broke
- 50:22Speaker 4: them down. I mean, the United States, you know, sent
- 50:25Speaker 4: these dudes back to down Under. It was was that.
- 50:28Speaker 2: An elimination game for Australia.
- 50:30Speaker 4: No, they still have a chance. They go to their
- 50:32Speaker 4: last game, but because the United States won that game,
- 50:35Speaker 4: then Paraguay won later that night. The United States have
- 50:39Speaker 4: already locked up first place in their group, so their
- 50:41Speaker 4: third game does not matter. So they're gonna they're gonna
- 50:45Speaker 4: rest a bunch of guys. They're gonna give you know,
- 50:46Speaker 4: they're gonna play probably some of their B or C
- 50:48Speaker 4: tier players, give them their first ever World Cup you know,
- 50:51Speaker 4: match minutes. We're gonna see some You're gonna see some
- 50:54Speaker 4: new names on the pitch. You're gonna see some guys
- 50:55Speaker 4: who've already played before, but yeah, they've already locked it up.
- 50:59Speaker 4: You get a whole week of rest basically until you
- 51:01Speaker 4: move into the knockout round. They're gonna play a third
- 51:03Speaker 4: place team from another group, so it's just like being
- 51:07Speaker 4: the one seed in March Madness, Like you have the
- 51:09Speaker 4: best easiest possible route to the final if you if
- 51:12Speaker 4: you place first in your group. So they'll probably it's
- 51:14Speaker 4: looking like right now they probably gonna play Bosnia that
- 51:17Speaker 4: that'd be a really good draw for them. But the
- 51:20Speaker 4: match was so much fun. There was a lot of
- 51:23Speaker 4: storylines to it. You're you're hopping there's a lot of
- 51:25Speaker 4: people online that are hopping onto like this is the
- 51:27Speaker 4: team of destiny trend because there's so many like Boy
- 51:30Speaker 4: Butterfly effect things going on.
- 51:33Speaker 2: Death when people start feeling.
- 51:34Speaker 4: That way, let me, I'm gonna tell you two stories,
- 51:36Speaker 4: all right, I'm ready, And it's people. The people have
- 51:38Speaker 4: pieced these together and this is why people are like
- 51:39Speaker 4: even people in other countries are loving this team right now.
- 51:42Speaker 2: So uh.
- 51:43Speaker 4: The first goal scorer was actually an own goal from Australia,
- 51:47Speaker 4: but it was assisted by you know, technically assisted by
- 51:50Speaker 4: Fuloren Balligan, which is the guy who scored the He
- 51:53Speaker 4: scored two goals in the first match.
- 51:55Speaker 2: Right.
- 51:55Speaker 4: The reason this was a big deal is because you know,
- 51:57Speaker 4: he's the leading goal scorer of the United States. Shouldn't
- 52:00Speaker 4: even be able to play on this team because he's
- 52:04Speaker 4: actually Nigerian. His parents are full Nigerian. He grew up
- 52:09Speaker 4: living in England, so he was actually playing for the
- 52:11Speaker 4: under twenty one team in England for most of his
- 52:13Speaker 4: life or not, you know, not always under twenty one,
- 52:16Speaker 4: but he was playing for you know, practicing with England
- 52:18Speaker 4: for most of his life. He wanted to play in
- 52:20Speaker 4: the World Cup. They wouldn't give him a starting spot
- 52:22Speaker 4: and you know, the first team, So the United States
- 52:26Speaker 4: reaches out to him and the old you know, he
- 52:29Speaker 4: ends up usually the United States. The only reason he's
- 52:31Speaker 4: allowed to choose the United States, this is the true story,
- 52:34Speaker 4: is because his parents, while his mother was pregnant, took
- 52:38Speaker 4: a trip to New York. Oh come on, no, I'm
- 52:41Speaker 4: not gone, not done. They took a trip to New
- 52:44Speaker 4: York and on their way back, they wouldn't allow her
- 52:48Speaker 4: back on the plane to fly back to England. Where
- 52:50Speaker 4: they lived. So he was born in New York. Oh
- 52:53Speaker 4: my god, and lived most of his life.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Okay, so he really is a US citizen because he
- 52:59Speaker 2: was born.
- 52:59Speaker 4: He yes, he is a US citizen. That's if he
- 53:02Speaker 4: if he was not born here, he would not be
- 53:04Speaker 4: eligible to play for this team. That's the only reason.
- 53:06Speaker 2: He's how would he be eligible because he's probably a
- 53:09Speaker 2: British citizen.
- 53:10Speaker 4: Yeah, he gets he gets Nigerian citizenship because of his parents,
- 53:14Speaker 4: and then he's a British citizen. But that's the reason
- 53:16Speaker 4: he plays here.
- 53:17Speaker 2: The other story, are the teams upset about this?
- 53:20Speaker 4: No, because that like there's this, there's only on an
- 53:24Speaker 4: average of almost every World Cup team, only thirty percent
- 53:27Speaker 4: of the players actually play in the country that they
- 53:29Speaker 4: played for. Then this isn't real, but all right, go ahead.
- 53:34Speaker 4: The other story is it's played. It was played in Seattle.
- 53:37Speaker 4: The second goal scorer is Alex Freeman. This kid's only
- 53:40Speaker 4: twenty one years old. He got his professional soccer start
- 53:43Speaker 4: in March of twenty twenty five for the MLS. He
- 53:47Speaker 4: he had an incredible first He had an incredible start
- 53:49Speaker 4: really early in his career. He gets bought up, he
- 53:51Speaker 4: gets bought out, and sent over to Villa Reale in Spain.
- 53:55Speaker 4: Who it's went in one of the bigger clubs in Spain.
- 53:57Speaker 4: He's had a great career there so far. He gets
- 53:59Speaker 4: brought in obviously his first World Cup, first time under
- 54:02Speaker 4: this men's team. For you know his in his career
- 54:04Speaker 4: so far, right, scores in this game. His dad you
- 54:09Speaker 4: might know who this is is, Antoine Freeman.
- 54:12Speaker 2: Do you know who this is? I remember the name,
- 54:15Speaker 2: but tell me who he is?
- 54:16Speaker 4: So why were he was a wide receiver for Green Bay. Yeah,
- 54:19Speaker 4: he won a Super Bowl with Green Bay. His breakout
- 54:22Speaker 4: game was on the same grounds in Seattle that alexas Wow,
- 54:27Speaker 4: Alex Freeman had his first ever international goal scorer. Really
- 54:31Speaker 4: obviously it wasn't the same stadium back then because the
- 54:34Speaker 4: stadium's newer, but yeah, he had his own breakout game.
- 54:37Speaker 4: They interviewed Antoine. He's like people throughout the time would
- 54:40Speaker 4: always introduce themselves to me, excited to hear me, and
- 54:43Speaker 4: he's like, I love what's going on for my son.
- 54:45Speaker 4: I can't walk out of my house being like, aren't
- 54:46Speaker 4: you Alex Freeman's dad? And the kid is he's I
- 54:50Speaker 4: guess he's only twenty one years old. There's all these
- 54:53Speaker 4: like fun storylines going on with all the players because
- 54:56Speaker 4: people are getting to know them, and it's just been
- 54:59Speaker 4: so cool. See every single game there's been something special happens,
- 55:02Speaker 4: something that's related. All the soccer fans that you know,
- 55:05Speaker 4: haven't been big soccer fans to this team that are
- 55:08Speaker 4: making you know, it's making them relatable, it's making them
- 55:10Speaker 4: more fun to watch. We're learning about all these guys.
- 55:12Speaker 4: And for me personally, I know, I get on here
- 55:16Speaker 4: once or twice a week and break all this stuff
- 55:17Speaker 4: down and I take up the whole segment. But I
- 55:20Speaker 4: just want to be honest. Like I've said it before,
- 55:22Speaker 4: I've followed this team. I followed soccer my entire life.
- 55:26Speaker 4: My favorite part about this is not that you know
- 55:28Speaker 4: it's in It's in the United States, so people are watching.
- 55:31Speaker 4: It's the fact that there are so many people that
- 55:35Speaker 4: are paying attention right now that are also like buying
- 55:38Speaker 4: into it, that are understanding. They're like, oh my gosh,
- 55:40Speaker 4: this is so fun to watch. I'm enjoying it. I've
- 55:42Speaker 4: been begging for people in the United States to like
- 55:45Speaker 4: buy into this and understand because I want like United
- 55:48Speaker 4: States soccer, not just the team, but in general, like
- 55:50Speaker 4: the MLS and the USL to all get better so
- 55:53Speaker 4: that the sport grows and it makes it you know,
- 55:55Speaker 4: continues to grow, and this continues to happen, so we
- 55:57Speaker 4: can get more tournaments heres, we can get all this stuff,
- 56:00Speaker 4: and I want it to be a bigger sport here.
- 56:02Speaker 4: And so it's been fun, so much fun to watch. Like,
- 56:05Speaker 4: for example, you made fun of the song earlier, but
- 56:08Speaker 4: when the game ended, they played Country Roads. They played
- 56:14Speaker 4: Country Roads, and they literally had to go silent on
- 56:16Speaker 4: the broadcast for like five minutes because the entire crowd
- 56:21Speaker 4: in Seattle was seeing it with the players on the
- 56:24Speaker 4: field and like it was just such a cool experience.
- 56:28Speaker 4: It was one where the whole culture behind, Like soccer
- 56:33Speaker 4: fans and what you do, like you know, obviously in
- 56:35Speaker 4: basketball you do like chants, right, like defense and all
- 56:37Speaker 4: that stuff. That's how you gain the atmosphere. And soccer
- 56:41Speaker 4: European fans sing songs and stuff. They make up songs
- 56:44Speaker 4: for their because it was Yes, they'll like make popular songs,
- 56:48Speaker 4: put players names in them, or make fun of their
- 56:51Speaker 4: It's just what they do. You can look it up.
- 56:52Speaker 4: It's like a culture thing, but it's because most like
- 56:56Speaker 4: chants and stuff American fans do in basketball and football
- 57:00Speaker 4: are done during tom outs, you know what I mean,
- 57:01Speaker 4: Like a game of stop. Well, there's no stopping, you know,
- 57:04Speaker 4: you're not chanting like defense or you know, all whatever.
- 57:07Speaker 4: While someoney in soccer because they've ball turns over so much,
- 57:10Speaker 4: so they sing songs and stuff, and people have had
- 57:14Speaker 4: the epiphany that's like, dude, we don't have to do that.
- 57:17Speaker 4: We just do what we do here in college football.
- 57:19Speaker 4: We'll just we'll we'll you know, we'll sing Country Roads,
- 57:21Speaker 4: We'll sing Garth Brooks, we'll singing all this stuff and
- 57:24Speaker 4: just it's like a band of unity and it's so
- 57:26Speaker 4: loud and people are so bought into it. The players
- 57:29Speaker 4: love it, the fans have loved it. It's looks so
- 57:31Speaker 4: great on TV. It's one where you have people genuinely
- 57:35Speaker 4: higher up in FIFA saying like, dude, we have to
- 57:37Speaker 4: do more, like we have to come back here again,
- 57:39Speaker 4: like this is gonna be one because it's just made
- 57:42Speaker 4: so much money too. It's made the sport look so good.
- 57:44Speaker 4: It's built, it's grown the sport here forever. And I'm
- 57:48Speaker 4: at the point where I really wanted this un United
- 57:51Speaker 4: States team to do well, not because just be you know,
- 57:54Speaker 4: I want them to do well just because of that,
- 57:56Speaker 4: but because I want the sport here to grow. Like
- 57:57Speaker 4: I said, and like whenever you see things like professional
- 58:02Speaker 4: basketball players see professional football players grow up now, they say,
- 58:05Speaker 4: I remember growing up watching Kobe Bryant. I remember growing
- 58:08Speaker 4: up watching Michael Jordan, and they inspired me to play.
- 58:11Speaker 4: I want kids nowadays to watch what's going on right
- 58:14Speaker 4: now and say, I want to be like Alex Freeman.
- 58:16Speaker 4: I want to be like Floren Vallet. I want to
- 58:18Speaker 4: be like Christian Polisic like that. I want people to
- 58:20Speaker 4: be inspired to play this sport and make it better
- 58:23Speaker 4: so that we can like grow this sport in America.
- 58:25Speaker 4: And they've done such a great job of doing that
- 58:27Speaker 4: so far. I I'm trying to do my best and
- 58:31Speaker 4: putting into words of how special this tournament has been.
- 58:35Speaker 4: We have never done something like this before in my
- 58:39Speaker 4: entire lifetime. The United States has sucked bad like that.
- 58:43Speaker 4: Their best run was in twenty ten. I forgot which
- 58:50Speaker 4: World Cup it was, but they basically scraped away a
- 58:53Speaker 4: win against Nigeria in the knockout round to survive. They've
- 58:57Speaker 4: always played this really boring defensive style of soccer where
- 59:01Speaker 4: nobody scores a zero to zero the whole time. This
- 59:04Speaker 4: team plays so high pressure, so high octane, so fast.
- 59:09Speaker 4: It's one where if, like I said, if you don't
- 59:11Speaker 4: watch a lot of soccer and you watch this team,
- 59:12Speaker 4: you're gonna be genuinely enjoying what you're watching. You can
- 59:16Speaker 4: you can visualize it with your eyes and see that
- 59:19Speaker 4: there's actually a good product on the field, and I
- 59:22Speaker 4: just want that to keep happening.
- 59:23Speaker 2: But the hardest part for because I hear and I
- 59:27Speaker 2: love the passion ian that he has about this, and
- 59:30Speaker 2: that's what gets me all excited. But I think the
- 59:33Speaker 2: hardest part that soccer has to overcome. Yes, it's been
- 59:37Speaker 2: fun to see all this, fun to see all these
- 59:40Speaker 2: European fan base or fan bases in soccer from all
- 59:44Speaker 2: over the world come to the United States. But the
- 59:46Speaker 2: problem that they that soccer is going to continue to
- 59:49Speaker 2: have once the World Cup is over is that the
- 59:52Speaker 2: United States has football, which is wildly successful. Yes, we've
- 59:57Speaker 2: got basketball, which is extremely successful, You've got hockey, and
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: you got baseball, and then where does soccer come into
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: play after that? So I think all of four of
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: the sports that I just mentioned are gonna still be
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: more popular than soccer. I just kind of feel like
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: it's temperary. Yeah, that'll remember their experience going to the
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: World Cup games or watching the World Cup here in
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: the United States. But I think this time next year,
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: I maybe you get a few fans that grow it,
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: but I don't. I don't know if it's gonna be
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: one of the major sports in the United States. Am My,
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: before you answer, Matthew, let's let's let me see what
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: Ian says.
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: I don't.
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: I don't hate on your take. I believe the exact
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: same thing. It's gonna be probably still a top five sport,
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: but it's not gonna be anything above us top three.
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: Won't be growing to the exponditional rate that Matt's thinking
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: over there, but it will still be.
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: It will still grow.
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: It its like a slow growing number from from the
- 1:00:57Speaker 5: World Cup.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: I would think, so, Matthew, I mean, am I wrong
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: about that? Or do you Is your passion so one
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: sided that you just you want it to happen, where
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: maybe you're kind of I don't know, blinded that you
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: don't want to admit that it's not really going to
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: work out.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: I'm not going to sit here and tell you that
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: it's going to surpass football. I'm not gonna it's not
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: going to I'm not going to star and tell you
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: that it surpasses maybe basketball. I don't know. The NBA
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: is a really bad down tard right they are, as
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: NBA fans, it's not looking good right now. Hockey is
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: the weird one. Hockey is very similar to soccer in
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: terms of their fan base, in which I would agree
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: with that. It's built by people who love that sport
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: and the other half don't care, you know what I mean,
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: That's just what it is. Yeah, So I think it
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: could surpass hockey at some point. It depends on, you know,
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: really how much they invested in America.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Is that.
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: But I'm going to disagree with you guys in the
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: terms of Michael, you made a point that we have basketball,
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: we have football, we have baseball, we have hockey. We
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: are one of the only countries in the world that
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: has four major sports. Yes, exactly, every other sport only
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: has one. They either have soccer, they have cricket, or
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: they have rugby. They have The United States has such
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: a you know, athletic fan base and such a you know,
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: they love sports so much, there's always gonna be room
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: for something new, right, But I like, I will back
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: your take up on It comes down to if when
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: this World Cup is over, Yes, there's a lot of
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: it's gonna be a big pop. Now will it die out?
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: The United States Soccer Federation has to invest in it
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: and say, we have to take advantage of this time
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: right now. We got to make it more accessible for
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: young kids to play. We got to make it more
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: enjoyable in the professional levels. We got to bring better
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: guys in. You know, we gotta do all because the
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: MLS is not great. I'm not gonna lie to you.
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: It's not very fun to watch. There's a lot of
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: guys you don't even know the names of. But that's
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: what they're trying to grow right now, and you have
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: to jump on that. So I think that in the
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: next ten years, soccer has the the ability I'm not
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: saying it will, has the ability to be a top
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: three sport in Americans. Past hockey has the ability. Okay,
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: I uh, that's an interesting take. I don't I'm not
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: going to disagree with you. I'm not going to agree
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: with you, but uh uh, let's switch it up a
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: little though. Did you see the Paraguayan player that saw
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: a watch had fallen on the field and it was
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: the referees watch. He picks it up and puts it
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: on his hand. I did not see that.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: Yeah, there was video of it everywhere, so if you
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: go look it up, you can see him taking Now.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Granted he did give it back later, but why did
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: he put on his wrist? Did you see this?
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: May he wanted to see the sign up it never
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: hears to check the.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: Time, Okay, is that what it is? Yeah?
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: I mean because the official is the only person on
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: the field that actually knows the exact time of how
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: long the games are playing, So like, yeah, he probably
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: just wanted to see howmuch sham was left.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. Yeah, but he puts it on his
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: wrist and tries to take it away. A lot of
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: people say, we're thinking he was going to steal it,
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: but supposedly he gave it back later on, but.
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: It was some kind of black I don't have a pockets,
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: so maybe he was just holding it up.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't maybe so he didn't know
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: whose it was. I mean, there's all kinds, but you know,
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: It's just proof right there. There are cameras everywhere in
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: today's world. You can't get away with anything anymore. I mean,
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: just think about what was the kid that's on trial
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: up in New York City for killing a insurance guy
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: and you know they caught him because cameras were everywhere
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: and they followed his every move after he did it.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: You you look at all that Now you've got drones
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: everywhere too, And that's the other part. Do you like
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: that there are so many cameras in the world today
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: or do you not like that there are so many
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: cameras ian? What do you think?
- 1:04:49Speaker 5: I don't like being spied on by really, I don't
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: like it at all. I'll be left alone probably, I
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: think more. And it's like my business be minded, you know,
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: don't want cameras is looking at my daily life?
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: Twenty four is not. I don't like it.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: Matthew, What do you think? Do you like having this
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: much security around that cameras are everywhere and it doesn't
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: bother you.
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: I think that we should wear all GoPros on our
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: heads at all times so and they should be straight.
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: We should all have to download neural link into our
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: brains and they all link to each other, so we
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: can all see each other's feet. So I can see
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: what Michael Benno's doing all day. I can see what
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: he is doing all day. I don't know if I
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: want to see that.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, I don't think you'd be that interested in me. Well,
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: you know everybody's got well I shouldn't say everybody. There's
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: a number of people that now have dash cameras when
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: they're driving around.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: Yeah, the dash cameras are totally fine.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Why is the dash camera totally fine? But you don't
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: want all these other cameras around you.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: Well, dash camera can help.
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: It can help you out and in like a in
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: a civil lawsuit for like damage for damaged okay costs
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: with a car like it for car wrecks, Yes, for
- 1:05:55Speaker 5: car wrecks, it'll help you a lot to figure out
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: the insurance and who can get them, who gonna get
- 1:06:00Speaker 5: the money out of the of the incident. I think
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: that's why the ashcre is pretty pretty important.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: I don't mind cameras everywhere because I know I'm not
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: breaking the law anyway, but somebody might assault me and
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: then at least I had a camera that saw it
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: and can catch the guy. Oh the other way, you
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: don't like being spied on. It didn't bother me a bit.
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: I'm perfectly fine with it. I don't as long as
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: they're not in my house, you know, yes, yeah.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, because I I mean, I've got cameras around
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: my house. Yeah, and then I don't have any inside.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: I don't want any inside either. But I somebody could
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: break in on your my iPad right now and start
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: watching me, couldn't they? If you click some suspicious links exactly?
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: I don't know what the suspecific trojan horse virus on
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: your computer? Really? Is that what they're called.
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: Yeah, they can basically control your whole computer. They can
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: turn on your webcam and stuff like that. Oh wow,
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: that's creepy. Yeah.
- 1:07:00Speaker 5: I think that you can do that on your iPhone too,
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: couldn't they? iPhone's a little different, is it really? Like
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: technically they can because it is like just a mini computer.
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: But yeah, it's it's Yeah, it wouldn't be as worth really.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: Okay, Uh, we got to take another break. When we
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: come back. McDonald's is celebrating the two hundred and fiftieth
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: birthday of the United States. I want to get both
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: of your opinions on what you think about. Plus, we'll
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: get back to your text messages five O two four
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: one four fourteen fifty Stay right there, Jessic Katz, right
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: back right after this. You're blind tie here.
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: The last one to know, the last one is shore.
- 1:07:41Speaker 7: Was the last one you thought you'd see there?
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: That song.
- 1:07:50Speaker 7: Blue Ridge, Mountains canes old and the trees younger than.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: Growing Love.
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, are you trying to be a jerk
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: to me right now?
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: God?
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: This song is terrible. My mom loves this. Oh yeah,
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: we don't need that either, Okay.
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: Bek Virginia Mount Mama.
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: All right, thanks, thanks a lot. That's good. Oh my gosh,
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: that was That was horrible, by the way. Uh okay, good.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: I'm glad you feel that way. So uh uh if
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: followed two for four fourteen fifty one text in the
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: Lusky t text line, Jared was an amazing athlete. Talking
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: about Jared Lorenzen uh Texter said he was a legend
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: always will be in hated Louisville like we all do. Yeah,
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: I that that that is very true, man, I tell
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: you what. Uh but but he was an amazing storyteller.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: He would tell some of the most off the wall
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: stories is what I remember him. Then he just sit
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: here and he's like, Michael, you need to lose weight.
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: And that's which I wasn't as big as him, but
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: he would be more concerned about my weight than his
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: own weight. And it was just just like, wait a minute, Jared,
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: what about you. Michael, we're talking about you. Let's not
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: talk about me right now. I just I love the guy.
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: I mean, I just I I considered him. I don't
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: know if I was a good friend to him, but
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: he was a good friend to me, and I do
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: I miss that guy. One person said, I'd become a
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Louisville fan before I'd become a soccer fan.
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: Right there. Let's set you on either side.
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: And then he says boring, Oh my gosh, that's a
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: great text right.
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: There, but you have no patriots on your text. That
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: was Michelle, by the way, that said this. That is patriotism.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: I think that's great.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: One person said, yes, you said that.
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: It was a hot Apparently, I said Antoine Freeman earlier.
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: I meant, I meant to say Antonio Freeman since Matt.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: Oh is that what it is? Door Matt? His name
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: is Antonio Freeman. Not Antwine Freeman that played for the Packers.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: Since Matt is a huge fan of the Patriots in soccer,
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: is he going to watch Gronk soccer talk show on
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: to B?
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: I will not be doing it. One why I won't
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: be tuning into anything on TV. I don't know if
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: you ever watched things on to be before?
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: I have before. Yes, what's wrong with TB?
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: Not terrible?
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: It is terrible, Okay, not great. I love Gronk, I
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: do too. I think the guy is unbelievably hilarious.
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: But yeah, I'm just I won't probably be watching it.
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: I would watch it. I would definitely watch Ian. I'm
- 1:10:46Speaker 5: not a soccer fan, but I listen. I have listened
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: to Matthew and I'm not kidding. I look forward to
- 1:10:54Speaker 5: matthew segment on World Cup. I think he because you
- 1:10:57Speaker 5: know why, because he's so excited about it and he's
- 1:11:01Speaker 5: passionate about it, and I think it makes it fun.
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: Now with Gronk, Absolutely, anything Gronk does I'm going to
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: listen to.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: Oh yeah, absolutely. What about Jameis Winston? You have you
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: seen his coverage?
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: I have not.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Is it good?
- 1:11:13Speaker 5: He's done a great job. He's like he's been like
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: a reporter covering the world.
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: He's done like field reporting, Like he goes with all
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: the fans and everything like that, and he interviews all
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: thet The fans know who he is just because of
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: social media, and they all up on him and it's
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: really funny.
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: I like James Winston.
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: Hilarious.
- 1:11:30Speaker 5: Yeah, imagine, imagine a podcast is Rob Grokowski, Jameis Winston,
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: you know, fun.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: What what let me add to it? What if it
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: was hosted by Snoop Dogg? Would that be too much
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: or not?
- 1:11:44Speaker 5: They all would be high the entire I don't think
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: we need any more Snoop Dogg media.
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: I think I think enough.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: But Snoop Dogg did a phenomenal job with the Olympics
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: and people were wildly watching this thing, like Olympics.
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: He's yeah, he's on the Olympics the last two times. Geez,
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: I thought he did a great job. Matthew, he does.
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: I'll watching super Dog. It's just we see him in
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: everything now, Like the dude is doing a lot of media.
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: He's always in a lot of stuff usually now it
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: gives a lot of people's opportunities. Yeah, yeah, okay, fair enough,
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: let's give Shane Gillis. Let's see how that.
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: Yeah, listen if he if he had him and Nick
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: Saban on at the same time, I don't think saban
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: would go for it, though.
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: Well it's basically the same thing, like how you do
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: Pat McAfee and Nick.
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: Basically I don't need you more Pat McAfee. Okay, local John, John,
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: here's again a World Cup update. Thanks Matthew for doing that.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: I have been keeping up with uh it just a little.
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: It would be cool to see the USA get it done.
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: I also wanted to say congratulations Matthew. I'm so happy
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: for you both.
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: Thank you John.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: So there you go. Yeah, John said that for you.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: Patrick texted out saying, I guess Michael doesn't like Country Roads.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: No not, I do not like country. There are songs
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: out there I think are getting overplay. What songs?
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: All right, Country Roads is one of them. I could
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: see that a little bit. Sweet Caroline, Sweet Carolines is
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: that song?
- 1:13:16Speaker 7: Though?
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: Oh you like the song?
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: Okay, okay, we can't say Country Roads getting overplayed, but
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: Sweet Carolines isn't.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I never said it is.
- 1:13:25Speaker 4: I'm saying like, if you got up, say if one
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: of them is, the other one is they're both overplaying
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: extremely you can't pick Caroline's definitely probably more overplayed.
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: But I just think it's so iconic for especially New
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: Year's when New Year's Eve's coming around.
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: Yeah, you're Sweet Caroline.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: Really, I didn't know that. I just always related that
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: to the Boston Red Sox because that's what they play, uh,
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: seventh inning stretch.
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: I remember because they had the actual singer of the
- 1:13:49Speaker 5: song do Sweet Caroline during New Year's Eve for like,
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: I think it might have been five years ago when
- 1:13:56Speaker 5: they did that, and I just like coincided with sweet
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: Carol line to New Year's even now from interesting?
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: All right, is there another song? I'll ask both of you,
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: Matthew start for is there another song that is overplayed?
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: Understruck?
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: Understruck, I would agree with that that is overplayed? Uh? Ian,
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: is there another song in your mind that's overplayed at stadiums?
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: Sandstorm? There Sandstorm?
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: Interesting? Interesting choice? He that are probably Hell's Bells Okay, Ah.
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: I'd also say, mister Brightside, that's perfect.
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: Yes, I can't stand that song. I don't like the.
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: Band side, but yeah, definitely the thing about all those
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: songs to me is it's one where if I'm in
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: the setting, I'm perfectly fine with it being played, Like,
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: is everybody singing it together? It's like a venue kind
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: of thing. If I'm like in my car and somebody
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: starts playing that, I'm like, please turn it off.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I've heard it.
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: Eighty thousand times. I don't want to hear it again today.
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: But if i'm if I'm like at the game right
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: and it's being played, yes, perfectly fine.
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: It's a great thought. Yeah. Patrick also wanted to know
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: what happened with Matthew. Matthew out, let you answer that question.
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: I got engaged.
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go, Patrick, Matthew got engaged on Friday.
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: It was a big to do and he's Uh. I
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: think he's regretting it, but definitely not. I'm hitting Uh.
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: Let's get to one more before we talk about this.
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: Return of the Mac gets overplayed. I don't know that song,
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: your Turn of.
- 1:15:31Speaker 5: The Mac, you know, Return of the Mac, Return of
- 1:15:35Speaker 5: the Mac.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: No, I know that one.
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: I do not know whe's turning the Mac.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: I don't think I know it. Well, maybe it's your best.
- 1:15:42Speaker 5: It's it's a ninety nine really like late. Yeah, I
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: don't think it's overplayed whatsoever. If if Michael doesn't even
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: know a song, Yeah it's a song, Michael.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: You don't know, so I don't know this song.
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: I'm so sorry. This This tells you how the songs were.
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: I mean, I've heard it a lot. I don't think
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: it's ever played.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: Though, Okay, I know. I don't know that one.
- 1:16:05Speaker 5: Because it's always it's always a song that people play
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: for commercials, a lot of commercials. I could see why
- 1:16:11Speaker 5: somebody would think it's overlay. I don't see it.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: I think every now and then there's a Fleetwood Max
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: song that's overplayed. I can't the Chain, the Chain. I
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: remember it's a good song, but it gets overplayed.
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: A little Gardens to the Galaxy Volume two and that
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: song I've loved the Chain.
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah it is. There was that guy that did
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: the TikTok famous video where he's skateboarding down and he
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: was playing that song. I don't think I think it
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: was a Fleetwood Max song. It wasn't none Chain, it
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: wasn't Chaine. It was definitely it was. It was a
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: different Fleetwood was. But yeah, yeah it was a really
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: good one. It's the guy with the drinking the cramp exactly. Yes,
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: that's it. I know you're talking about.
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: I know what song it is.
- 1:16:53Speaker 5: Yeah, and it definitely was overplayed a lot on TikTok,
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: but it definitely wasn't which one.
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: It might not be Fleetwood Mac, it might be just
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: Steven Nick. What well it could be Maybe it was
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: just stevee. Have you seen a School of Rock with Jack? Watch? Oh?
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: I love that movie.
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: What's the song that Stevie Nix is seeing in the
- 1:17:08Speaker 4: bar when he takes the principal out? You know what
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: I'm talking about.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: I don't I remember the scene. I don't remember the
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: song it. Yeah, you try and find it and play it.
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: Patrick said, congratulations, Matthews, Patrick, there you go, all right.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: For celebration of the two hundred and fiftieth birthday of
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: the United States, McDonald's has decided to bring back one thing.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: And I want to know if either of you're excited
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: about this. They are bringing back the hot apple pie.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: Is that a good thing? Or is that? Who cares?
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: Because I'm not an I always that was one of
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: those things I did like the hot apple pie? Is
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: that McDonald's? But that was when I was a kid.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: I'm not a big.
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: Apple pie kind of guy.
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: Do you really you. So, when you think of United States,
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: the thing, the food that goes with the United States,
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: do you believe apple pie is the number one dessert?
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: I won't say number one, deserve, but I definitely would
- 1:18:08Speaker 5: associate it with the US, Like the apple pie is
- 1:18:11Speaker 5: probably one of the most iconic things for the US.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: But I want to say it's number one. What's the
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: number one dessert?
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: I don't know. I just know it's not fine cheesecake.
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: You know, nobody associates cake with the United States.
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: New York cheesecake.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: You associate that with New York, but not the United States,
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: New York in the US. Hold on, yes, it is.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: Would you say I associate that with key US?
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: Disgusting? What horrible?
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: I don't like.
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: What is wrong with you? Guys?
- 1:18:42Speaker 5: I don't like you ever been go dow to Florida
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: and have a key line pie from publics public key
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: line pies, or we'll go to.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: The publics here in town.
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: They don't have.
- 1:18:50Speaker 5: They don't It's a Florida public special. It is, okay.
- 1:18:56Speaker 5: What else food is associated with the United States? Cherry pie?
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: Probably because of George Washington cherry tree. You know, A
- 1:19:04Speaker 5: little story is probably that.
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: I wouldn't have said that, but that's that's an interesting take.
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: I would have said hot dogs.
- 1:19:10Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, hot dogs absolutely, because hamburgers.
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: I'm gonna go away from the food here. A pink lemonade.
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: Pink lemonade, really, that's what.
- 1:19:21Speaker 5: You associated with the US or a lemonade? I would
- 1:19:25Speaker 5: have said, sweet tea.
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: That's a great one, right there.
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: I hate Sweet Sea? What I never liked it? I
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: live in it.
- 1:19:32Speaker 5: I live in a like a like a southern county.
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: You just don't like county, you just like dirt water.
- 1:19:36Speaker 5: Everybody loves Sweet Sea, Spencer County. I'm forb like one
- 1:19:39Speaker 5: of the rare few people who just don't well. Isn't
- 1:19:41Speaker 5: there a song sweet Tea and apple Pie? I thought
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: there was a Hunter music song. Maybe I'm wrong about that.
- 1:19:48Speaker 5: All right, Uh, we gotta take our last break? Are
- 1:19:50Speaker 5: you playing something already? I was watching the School of
- 1:19:53Speaker 5: Rock scene.
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: That he's over here dancing.
- 1:19:56Speaker 4: It's so funny. Yeah, he's like, oh my gosh, the
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: kids would love to do a concert. She's like getting drunk.
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: It'sh movie. That's that's a really good movie. That was
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: really only Jack Black's really big movie, wasn't it?
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: He's not a lot of big movies. Well he had
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: that what's the rom com he's in with? Uh Cameron
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: Cameron Diaz.
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: Oh that's right, shallow? How good call? Yeah, that was
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: a good movie right there. He was in that one
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: I forgot about. But that I don't know if that
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: was bigger than A School of Rock. I always like
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: Jack Black. He's a good singer. He is, he's a
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: good musician. So anyway, all right, we got to take
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: our last break. Uh five O two four one four
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: fourteen fifty one texts during the last break, and we've
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: got a couple of things I want to talk about
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: before we go. Plus, uh, I didn't talk about what
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: the TSA is warning all the you the World Cup
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: fans not to do. Is this the song? This is it?
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: This is it?
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: Yes, that's a good song. All right, we'll be right
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: back one more segment. Just Cat's coming right up. All right, Matthew.
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: I forgot to talk about this a little bit ago,
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: but I don't know if you saw it or not.
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: The TSA is warning all the World Cup fans visiting
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: the United States not to pack on their carry on
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: the ranch dressing. Have you seen how crazy they're going
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: all these people are going for ranch dressing, which we
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: look at ranch dressing thing, okay, whatever, but they're putting
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: it in their carry on bag, and they got to
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: re remind well, you can't put this, it's gonna go
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: in your check bag. Do they not have ranch dressing
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: over in Europe? No?
- 1:22:09Speaker 4: Really, like only in America. That's a that's a sad
- 1:22:12Speaker 4: world of living.
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: Like ranch is probably like my favorite dis is it really,
- 1:22:17Speaker 5: absolutely every single time I get something to dip in,
- 1:22:20Speaker 5: it's always either ranch or barbecue sauce. Doubt those two
- 1:22:23Speaker 5: things in my life. I'd probably be broken, all right.
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: So so when you get buffalo wings, you get ranch dressing,
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: not blue cheese.
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: I never like blue cheese.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: I'm a blue cheese guy.
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: I wanted, I wanted to like it, but I don't.
- 1:22:36Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like me with sushi. I don't like sushi either.
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:22:40Speaker 5: I've tried, tried so many sushis, but there's not like
- 1:22:43Speaker 5: a single sushi that I've actually truly liked.
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: Matthew, how do you take that?
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: Take exactly?
- 1:22:49Speaker 5: Sorry exactly. I've really tried to like sushi, have you really?
- 1:22:54Speaker 5: I've really tried I've tried to like probably at least
- 1:22:56Speaker 5: fifteen plus sushis, and there's not a single one that.
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: I understand when people don't like it because I get it.
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: But like, it's the point that sushi is like always
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: the just perfect amount of food. I can't even describe it.
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: It's like just enough rice to fill you up. There's
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: a lot, there's so many, like you said, Like you said, Ian,
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: there's so many different types of sushi you try. There's
- 1:23:16Speaker 4: something for everybody. So I get that. I get that
- 1:23:20Speaker 4: some people just don't like some stuff. You know, you
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: gotta live with that. But it's one of those that, like,
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: my gosh, man, I could eat sushi every single dame.
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: Do you like fried shrimp?
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: Absolutely? I get this shrimp tempura sushi roll.
- 1:23:33Speaker 5: You know I probably would like that. I definitely. I
- 1:23:36Speaker 5: just haven't found the right sush yet. I'm telling you
- 1:23:38Speaker 5: the right one to go get. I just gotta find
- 1:23:40Speaker 5: one that I actually would like it. And I think
- 1:23:42Speaker 5: shrimp pro probably would work for me. Or this one
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: with a shrimp on it.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I like anything. Oh there you go, and then
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: you find it that way. I'm like you, Matthew, I
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: love any kind of weird food.
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: I don't think sushi is considered weird anymore. It's definitely
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: not a weird.
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: But I love now if you get some monaghi, I
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: think it gets a little on the weird side, isn't it?
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: See you? Is it see your tune or squid? I
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: forget which it is. It's delicious, remember, Yeah, it's delicious.
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: I love that.
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: Oh yes?
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: College World Series between Oklahoma and North Carolina? Have we
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: gotten into that?
- 1:24:21Speaker 4: I I feel like we're talking boring.
- 1:24:24Speaker 5: See, you've got to get the college series like that.
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: I don't either, because it's been a fun World Series
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: to watch, and this is it's I think the series
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: is tied at one right now, I only watch You're
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: on literally on a UK show, and you can't say
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: stuff like that. You're really frustrating me with the UK hate. Okay,
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: just want you to know I was yelling.
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: I was yelling, all right, all right, I'm gonna be honest.
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: So I watched. You know, I obviously watch a little
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: of baseball play every single year. This and that college
- 1:24:59Speaker 4: baseball I field just has too many problems in it
- 1:25:03Speaker 4: to keep me invested when I don't have a team
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: in the fight.
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: What are the problems?
- 1:25:07Speaker 4: It's way too long. Every game is like five hours long.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: Oh okay.
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: The pitching is just not They are not very good.
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: It is not very good. Yeah, which I understand. It's college.
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: Like some guys are going to be accountants in six
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: months playing an MLB draft prospect. I get that stuck,
- 1:25:20Speaker 4: and that's just college. I just feel like baseball, like
- 1:25:23Speaker 4: college baseball, needs to adapt ways to speed up the
- 1:25:26Speaker 4: game a little bit so you can Should they put
- 1:25:28Speaker 4: the clock on them? I think they should. I think
- 1:25:31Speaker 4: the main problem college baseball is it's just way too
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: long right now?
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, Well, I'm trying to root for Oklahoma, but
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: they don't feel like they're a part of the SEC
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: and no offense. I don't want an ACC team to win,
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: so I guess I'm rooting for Oklahoma. But I'm to
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: the point where it's two teams. I really don't care
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: about Oklahoma and North Carolina, but I'm watching it. So. Uh.
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: Did either of y'all watch the US Open though over
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: the weekend? No, a little bit tuned into I watch
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: it all sunder it was boring.
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: I don't think I could ever be entertained by tennis.
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: This was no, no, no, no, this US Open golf.
- 1:26:08Speaker 5: Sorry, yeah, I'm glad you're kicking like watching golf.
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: Yeah, well Wyndham Clark won. Just to let you know,
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: Ian since you have no idea who it was. The
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: US Open golf tournament at Shinnacock Up in New York.
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: So cool, it's it's a cool golf course. But to me, Matthew,
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: this was kind of a boring tournament because Wyndham Clark
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: led the entire tournament and there was nothing really exciting
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: about it? Was it? To you?
- 1:26:38Speaker 4: I mean those are kind of boring, but there is
- 1:26:40Speaker 4: a spectacle in which you can understand that. It's like
- 1:26:43Speaker 4: of any tournament, like you think, like the Masters, it
- 1:26:45Speaker 4: would be really hard to lead the whole time. The
- 1:26:47Speaker 4: US Open is probably the hardest because the it's the
- 1:26:50Speaker 4: most difficult course in the you know, of the year
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: every single season, right, so you know, to shoot the
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: score he did, it was really great. I think he
- 1:26:57Speaker 4: was the first person to lead all four days some
- 1:27:00Speaker 4: like twelve or thirteen years they said, So that's really impressive.
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: I just wish it wasn't Wyndam Clark. I just don't
- 1:27:05Speaker 4: like that, dude.
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: Yeah, especially what he did last year, right, because he
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: had the whole meltdown and he mentioned it on the
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: UH after winning the tournament. Did you hear him say
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: I apologize for what I did last year. I mean,
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: he had a complete meltdown in a locker room. I
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: forget what course it was. Do you remember the course
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: that he did that?
- 1:27:27Speaker 4: I don't remember?
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: And he destroyed a couple of lockers that were like
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: over one hundred years old.
- 1:27:33Speaker 4: Because he's banned from that golf course, right, yeah, absolutely,
- 1:27:36Speaker 4: or he should be, or he might just be banned
- 1:27:37Speaker 4: from the locker room. I don't know he's bad from that.
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: I don't know he should be banned from the golf
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: course if I was a member there and he destroyed
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: these lockers that were over one hundred years old, Man,
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: I just that's not cool. I mean, the whole meltdown
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: thing is ridiculous. So but I mean, good for him
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: for winning. But of course now it's onto the last
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: of the what in a month I think it is?
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: It's the British Open.
- 1:28:04Speaker 4: Okay, where's it being played this year?
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: I didn't pay attention to see where it's being played
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: this year, but they already have who the early ones
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: are to pick as far as the betting odds, are
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: you ready for? I mean it's not called shakiya. Who
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: do you think they're they're picking right now the odds
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: favorite to win the British Open.
- 1:28:23Speaker 4: I'm gonna say Rory to go to Scheffler.
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: You're both right at it. Scottie Scheffler is at plus
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: six hundred. Rory is at plus six fifty.
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: It's at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. I
- 1:28:37Speaker 4: have no idea where that is, but it's in England.
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: Okay, good. The guy that just won, Wyndham Clark, he's
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: plus twenty seven hundred.
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: Jez.
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: It's like, well, wait, that's kind of a low blow,
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: isn't it That he just won the US Open and
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: they give him the odds of that high.
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: I mean he has played particularly well last years. Yeah,
- 1:28:59Speaker 4: you know, and they can happen. So that's why. That's why.
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm a Scottie Scheffler fan. I like him.
- 1:29:06Speaker 4: Did you see where well, like every single time Wyndam
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: Clark would like miss the putt, everybody started, everybody start cheering.
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: They really Yeah, there was one where he put it
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: in it like came off the backside of the green.
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: Everybody started cheering because they wanted Scotty to catch up
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: or something like that. But he made a statement about it.
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: He was talking about he actually like outwardly was he
- 1:29:25Speaker 4: was like, you know, these guys people from New York
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: are really rough.
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: Sometimes they are rough and they'll let you know how
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: they feel.
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: I like that.
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: I think it's a lot of fun. I mean, but
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: but that's kind of that that is a little on
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: the cold side, and that they would be rooting against
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: him that.
- 1:29:43Speaker 4: I mean, it's a sport. People are gonna root against you.
- 1:29:46Speaker 4: We got we're adults. We gotta grow up.
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: Yeah, just exactly stop being so it's just like.
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: Last year, like Rory losing his mind on fans and stuff,
- 1:29:53Speaker 4: and he did it all season. I don't know. Look,
- 1:29:56Speaker 4: we need to start understanding that people are allowed to
- 1:29:58Speaker 4: be fans of golf. They're not patrons. They're fans. Not
- 1:30:02Speaker 4: every tournament's the Masters. People are gonna boo you. People
- 1:30:05Speaker 4: are gonna be loud. That's just how it is. Golf
- 1:30:07Speaker 4: is adapting, the game is growing. The golf clap needs
- 1:30:11Speaker 4: to be expired. When need to understand that there's you
- 1:30:13Speaker 4: know people are gonna get upset, yes.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: And be more of a fan because that's what's made.
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: I'll tell you, the funnest golf tournament I've ever been
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: to is the Ryder Cup because I felt like fans
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: were really fans. It was just not golf. You're rooting
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: and cheering forward, just like with World Cup. I mean
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: the fan when we uh when the world When the
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: Ryder Cup was here in Louisville, Valhalla, I'm telling you,
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: fans were really into it. You had all the Europeans
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: over here. They were really into it. You acted like
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: you were at a football game. I mean you really cheered,
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: you really booed. That to me was a lot of fun.
- 1:30:51Speaker 4: It's fun.
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: And they I'm like you, Matthew, they need to adapt
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: that kind of And I guess that's what you're getting
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: in the Phoenix Open, isn't it. You're basically well now there,
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: that's more like just like a big party. Like to me, yeah,
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: it's more of a drunken buffoon situation out there, because
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: they're they're wildly crazy out there.
- 1:31:10Speaker 4: I'm not saying that like when somebody's on the tee
- 1:31:12Speaker 4: you're about to make a punt, when needs to have
- 1:31:14Speaker 4: you know, like chance going on and people booing everybody.
- 1:31:20Speaker 4: But like I am, I will say, golf is a
- 1:31:23Speaker 4: lot more fun when the crowd is into it because
- 1:31:25Speaker 4: it gives a better sphere. I think we need to
- 1:31:28Speaker 4: start understanding that. Like you made a good point, like
- 1:31:30Speaker 4: the Phoenix Open. We don't need to be just like that.
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: But not every tournament needs to be like the Masters,
- 1:31:35Speaker 4: you know what I mean, Like we need to have
- 1:31:37Speaker 4: fun every once in a while.
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: Well, the Masters needs to tone it down a little
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: bit there. They're a little too much stuck on themselves.
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: It's like settled down. It's kind of how the difference
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: between Churchill Downs and Keenland. You know, Keenland you go
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: in certain places you have to have a coat and
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: tie on. You go to Churchill Downs you can have
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: shorts and a shirt on. It's like there needs to
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: be a little happy there because Keenland is a little
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: too stuffy for me, which drives me up the wall.
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: And then I feel like Churchill Downs is a little
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: too relaxed. Let's find a happy medium. But it was
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: announced over the weekend Serena Williams is gonna be playing
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: at the Wimbledon, and she will be playing singles. Playing
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: doubles is one thing. But she's now I think we
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: talked about last week, Matthew, she's forty four years old.
- 1:32:31Speaker 4: Now she's really old, really old.
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: My gosh, don't say she's really old, but yeah, that's
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: that's that's older for it. Are you surprised she's gonna
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: be playing singles at Wimbledon? How long will she last?
