- 0:05Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning, Welcome, welcome, welcome, meeting
- 0:07Speaker 1: time now more it's hard talk right here.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Gave one the one you trust, and we have got
- 0:13Speaker 2: Brad Dungeons in here with this Dan, Brad, you have
- 0:16Speaker 2: brought bread.
- 0:18Speaker 3: How are we doing today, young man? Good morning Tom. Yes,
- 0:22Speaker 3: sorry I was a little distracted. That's okay. We got
- 0:24Speaker 3: good company. Yeah.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Upcoming weather event that's approaching from the southwest. Thankfully it's
- 0:32Speaker 1: gonna snow in Colorado. I think finally the h I've
- 0:37Speaker 1: been watching that open to go skiing, but who knows
- 0:39Speaker 1: if that's possible the uh.
- 0:42Speaker 3: But we're all uh getting ready at the dealership. We do.
- 0:47Speaker 1: There's a few things you want to do with your vehicle,
- 0:49Speaker 1: you know, with winter weather if people aren't really used
- 0:52Speaker 1: to it around here. So there is a bit of
- 0:55Speaker 1: of uh, maybe a little extra excite. That's how I'll say.
- 1:01Speaker 1: All right, I got Robert Phillips from the Y here. Yes,
- 1:05Speaker 1: am I good to have you back on the show.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Robert.
- 1:08Speaker 1: I know there's always stuff going on at the y
- 1:11Speaker 1: every day and probably.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Even in the in the snow storms. So yes, we're ready.
- 1:18Speaker 2: We've found on jumper tables are jumper packs, so we're
- 1:21Speaker 2: ready for our members that do come in that's not prepared.
- 1:25Speaker 1: There you go, well, no, that's outstanding. And there's you know,
- 1:29Speaker 1: like I said, a full calendar of events coming up
- 1:31Speaker 1: and we'll talk about that. I look forward to catching
- 1:33Speaker 1: up with Robert, and we are busy at the dealership.
- 1:37Speaker 1: It's as everybody's been getting ready for the snowstorm. Service
- 1:41Speaker 1: has been pretty busy, you know, you do, I do
- 1:45Speaker 1: want to make too light of it. I mean, obviously,
- 1:48Speaker 1: when we get these extreme cold temperatures, things like your
- 1:50Speaker 1: battery are really stressed out. If you have a weak battery,
- 1:54Speaker 1: this can can put extra stress on it and you
- 1:58Speaker 1: don't want to be meaning to to replace that when
- 2:02Speaker 1: it's three or four degrees. So the batteries, your windshield
- 2:08Speaker 1: wipers of course, you're you know.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Anti freeze, the tires.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Tire tread is super important in a winter driving it,
- 2:17Speaker 1: and you know a few other things.
- 2:19Speaker 3: You just want to make sure.
- 2:20Speaker 1: If you want us to do a quick check out
- 2:23Speaker 1: of your vehicle, you can bring it in and the
- 2:25Speaker 1: team will do that and maybe take care of your maintenance.
- 2:27Speaker 1: At the same time I mentioned, we've been really busy
- 2:32Speaker 1: at the dealership. We get two allocations from Toyota a
- 2:36Speaker 1: month and the mid month when it's called sales base,
- 2:39Speaker 1: and that was Tuesday night. We were actually number five
- 2:44Speaker 1: in the Gulf States region, which is five states, about
- 2:47Speaker 1: one hundred and sixty dealerships, and we were the number
- 2:50Speaker 1: five and percent of objective for the month of January
- 2:54Speaker 1: through the twentieth So that was that's great. We've been
- 2:57Speaker 1: on a really tour at pace so far this year,
- 3:01Speaker 1: and maybe that people have been getting ready for the
- 3:05Speaker 1: for the winter weather or something. It's a lot of
- 3:09Speaker 1: interest in in Toyota's. There's just a great value on
- 3:14Speaker 1: a Toyota I did. Uh. You know, we have great
- 3:19Speaker 1: brand new twenty twenty six RAP four coming out.
- 3:23Speaker 3: We've had three of those allocated to us before.
- 3:26Speaker 1: They're all we haven't seen them yet, but they're all
- 3:28Speaker 1: pre sold and so that's what it's going to be
- 3:31Speaker 1: like on the brand new WRAP four for a while
- 3:33Speaker 1: until inventory stabilizes later this year. But great, great to
- 3:39Speaker 1: have that problem. And you know, I think just a
- 3:43Speaker 1: really exciting time at the dealership. But let's talk about
- 3:47Speaker 1: the why you guys have always, like I said, every
- 3:50Speaker 1: day there's stuff going on there helping you know, families, individuals,
- 3:55Speaker 1: you know, with all kinds of things. Really, people think
- 3:58Speaker 1: about the why. Maybe some people will think of it
- 4:00Speaker 1: as a gym. Some people think of it as a
- 4:04Speaker 1: place to play, you know, for your kids to go
- 4:06Speaker 1: play basketball, for instance. We did a lot of that
- 4:09Speaker 1: when my kids were younger. We you know, it's a
- 4:12Speaker 1: daycare center, you guys are it's a swim lesson the
- 4:16Speaker 1: place you place teach most most of the people in
- 4:19Speaker 1: our community to swim.
- 4:21Speaker 4: I think, yes, we've start off the year.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Really, we picked up a new school to offer our
- 4:27Speaker 2: second grade swim lessons, a small school, uh pe Huscar
- 4:30Speaker 2: actually really and we actually did the first second and
- 4:33Speaker 2: third graders of that school early January. So we've out.
- 4:37Speaker 2: You know, it's just not Bartlesvill, WIAMCA. It's really a
- 4:40Speaker 2: community area of WAYAMCA. So we start off with swim
- 4:42Speaker 2: lessons there and you know there's a lot going on,
- 4:44Speaker 2: wrapping up for basketball leagues. I could sign up for
- 4:48Speaker 2: another little ballers league and just constantly busy. The pool
- 4:51Speaker 2: is open, you know, we opened the building at five am.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I used to come in for that early morning swim.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I was thinking it's starting. They were coming in so
- 5:00Speaker 1: point here again.
- 5:01Speaker 2: But yeah, well this is a time you know, the
- 5:03Speaker 2: pool a little bit cooler, you know, so it's a
- 5:05Speaker 2: good time for it's cold. It's not cold, you know,
- 5:08Speaker 2: we much right there on eighty two degrees is where
- 5:11Speaker 2: we keep. It goes up and down just a few
- 5:12Speaker 2: degrees according to the air temperature.
- 5:14Speaker 3: You know.
- 5:14Speaker 4: It's it's hard to heat that water up.
- 5:16Speaker 3: When there's a lot of water.
- 5:18Speaker 2: So we have a lot going on there, you know,
- 5:19Speaker 2: open to you know, ten o'clock at night, so with
- 5:22Speaker 2: the swim lessons of basketball and then obviously our Father
- 5:25Speaker 2: Dara dance coming up.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that's a big event. I think they've been
- 5:29Speaker 1: doing that for a few years now.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Yes, I think we've been doing close to twelve years.
- 5:33Speaker 2: And we have some Disney characters showing up, so we
- 5:36Speaker 2: always have those show up with pictures with the girls.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Some of the deads try again there too, but the
- 5:41Speaker 2: girls really excited. This year we have Alice from also
- 5:45Speaker 2: Wantlanta and Rapunzel showing up so they'd be there for
- 5:48Speaker 2: photo ops.
- 5:50Speaker 4: We have the photo booth and this year w went
- 5:52Speaker 4: with the.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Taco bar, so some families can go out to eat
- 5:56Speaker 2: before or take pictures or do whatever they like. But
- 5:59Speaker 2: they can come there and eat and stay as long
- 6:01Speaker 2: as they the kids can dance and have the energy.
- 6:04Speaker 2: The father sometimes just kind of huddle up and their dance.
- 6:08Speaker 4: But it's just like you don't have to they don't
- 6:10Speaker 4: have to dance.
- 6:11Speaker 2: We try best out to let's say it, not allow
- 6:15Speaker 2: mothers in the building, so they intimidate the fathers. So
- 6:20Speaker 2: the mothers aren't watching. Then the dads and daughters can
- 6:23Speaker 2: really cut loose and have a good time.
- 6:24Speaker 4: To be goofy.
- 6:25Speaker 2: And we have plans to out walking around take pictures
- 6:28Speaker 2: and videos from their cell phones. As long as we're
- 6:31Speaker 2: gonna have two photographers roaming the areas this year taking
- 6:34Speaker 2: pictures that we'll share with them.
- 6:36Speaker 3: You get it, You get it. You can get a
- 6:38Speaker 3: glimpse of what.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Yes, you know, it's the stories that they can tell
- 6:42Speaker 2: about it, in the memories that they get to share
- 6:44Speaker 2: with the moms, like.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I know, I mean, I know people who have done
- 6:47Speaker 1: it before and there it's an exciting event.
- 6:50Speaker 3: It's want something a memory.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I think that the young ladies especially probably really remember
- 6:57Speaker 1: and it's it's a great idea.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Is a great and you know the dress some people
- 7:01Speaker 2: dress very formal and some just dressed, you know, as
- 7:04Speaker 2: a night out to enjoy. So it's really open to all.
- 7:07Speaker 2: When we do offer scholarships, so level for this program
- 7:09Speaker 2: as well. And it's kind of a fundraiser for our scholarship.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Okay, And there's a cost to it, Uh what is
- 7:18Speaker 1: that for? Different for why members?
- 7:20Speaker 2: And yes there's a different price why members or forty
- 7:22Speaker 2: dollars non members are fifty.
- 7:24Speaker 3: But if that's too much, you can we can take
- 7:26Speaker 3: for a scholars off.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I personally review all the financial assistance we provide. So
- 7:33Speaker 2: there's a small form fill out, just a document. You know,
- 7:36Speaker 2: the government requires all these documentations. Since we're our five
- 7:39Speaker 2: oh one C three, we got to keep track of
- 7:41Speaker 2: the discounts.
- 7:42Speaker 1: You remember that meeting, the event you had a couple
- 7:45Speaker 1: a couple of years ago now where we were all
- 7:47Speaker 1: there learning about everything going on at the y, and
- 7:50Speaker 1: it was it made a huge impression on me. And uh,
- 7:54Speaker 1: you know, I know, Kimberlyeve, my wife's been involved on
- 7:57Speaker 1: your board and and it's a just the impact you
- 8:01Speaker 1: guys have and the hundreds of people that go through there.
- 8:04Speaker 3: You're you're not that's not nothing's expensive.
- 8:08Speaker 1: There and if you can't afford the programs, you can
- 8:10Speaker 1: usually get a scholarship for just about everything. The free
- 8:14Speaker 1: swim lessons, they're just a great example where it has
- 8:17Speaker 1: gone on for decades around here.
- 8:19Speaker 2: And yes, we started the second grade free swim lessons
- 8:23Speaker 2: I think right at also twelve years ago. And when
- 8:28Speaker 2: I moved on and started that, and it was like
- 8:30Speaker 2: trying to talk to the school, It's like, Okay, what's the.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Catch why you want to lessons?
- 8:33Speaker 1: Like, well, we have this pool, there's water there and
- 8:37Speaker 1: people kind of it's helpful to know how to swim, right,
- 8:41Speaker 1: It's a great thing. You don't want to end up
- 8:43Speaker 1: in a situation around the pool and not know how
- 8:46Speaker 1: to swim, or a lake or a river. I mean
- 8:49Speaker 1: it's just a it's a life saving.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Skill, yes, and a lifelong skill.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 2: So you know, you know, had Waste sponsors a lot
- 8:56Speaker 2: with that, r VS Bank, Philips six, there's a lot
- 8:58Speaker 2: of companies that supports that. And one thing I noted
- 9:02Speaker 2: in the pool the other night, we also have adult lessons,
- 9:05Speaker 2: so we have older adults that's learning how to swim.
- 9:07Speaker 4: Finally we're finding their strokes.
- 9:09Speaker 3: So we did you miss it in the second grade,
- 9:11Speaker 3: you can catch up.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Yes, So I'm happy to say that hopefully the majority
- 9:17Speaker 2: of the seniors that's graduating have been through our swim program,
- 9:20Speaker 2: So that's something good to say.
- 9:21Speaker 4: That we provide for them for their next movement of life.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And you mentioned the basketball, and you guys do other
- 9:27Speaker 1: youth sports and have helped when needed throughout the youth
- 9:30Speaker 1: sports community in Bartlesville and kind of you know, they've
- 9:34Speaker 1: been a real bedrock of that.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Yes, we still try to be kind of like the
- 9:38Speaker 2: central information hub of youth sports. So as that's going on,
- 9:42Speaker 2: we can send people in the right direction, you know,
- 9:45Speaker 2: with the quarterback club thinking on football, we give them
- 9:48Speaker 2: point of contacts there, and then the baseball we give
- 9:52Speaker 2: them point of contacts there soccer as well, So we
- 9:55Speaker 2: kind of help and we kind of pattern our calendar
- 9:58Speaker 2: of sports around other sports. We try not overlap because
- 10:01Speaker 2: we don't want kids making a choice first week to
- 10:03Speaker 2: go there and miss the last week or vice versa.
- 10:06Speaker 2: So we try to work with our counters or when
- 10:07Speaker 2: they're going to wrap up, so we don't have a
- 10:09Speaker 2: lot of overlap to make kids have to choose one more.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Or the other. Yeah, that's a great program.
- 10:14Speaker 1: And giving people access to that and the Great Basketball
- 10:17Speaker 1: League you guys have been a part of for a
- 10:19Speaker 1: long time is it's a lot of fun and a
- 10:22Speaker 1: great way for people to get those skills and actually
- 10:24Speaker 1: playing games with it's a it's a.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Great, great program.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Yes, in partner with Olkhoma City Thunder with our thunder
- 10:32Speaker 2: League is really good. You know, the shirts that they
- 10:35Speaker 2: help us provide, and then the opportunities. You know, a
- 10:39Speaker 2: couple of years ago they actually came here and did
- 10:40Speaker 2: a summer camp here and then our players got discount
- 10:44Speaker 2: and then we get opportunities for discounts to go the
- 10:46Speaker 2: games for participants in our thunder League.
- 10:48Speaker 4: So there's a lot of good partnerships that can reward us.
- 10:51Speaker 2: It's not as easy as us going down to you know,
- 10:54Speaker 2: the community center here to watch Thunder play. It's locom
- 10:57Speaker 2: the city, but we do have to provide those opportunities
- 10:59Speaker 2: for our players as well and coaches.
- 11:01Speaker 1: That's exciting. And you mentioned the Father Daughter Dance web
- 11:04Speaker 1: date is that again?
- 11:05Speaker 2: That is February twenty first, and that's in the evening
- 11:08Speaker 2: six thirty till eight thirty, and that's on the Saturday
- 11:10Speaker 2: night and the wyesday is closed, so only be open
- 11:16Speaker 2: to the full dorg dance and our staff.
- 11:18Speaker 1: And you've got a mother or son event coming up
- 11:22Speaker 1: in March, I think, I think in April April, I'm
- 11:25Speaker 1: not sure I've got it.
- 11:26Speaker 2: And what is the mother son NERF war? Yes, and
- 11:32Speaker 2: let me tell you, they get into a lot more. Yeah, April,
- 11:35Speaker 2: they get into a lot more than the followers do
- 11:37Speaker 2: to go all out. I don't know whose closets they
- 11:41Speaker 2: raid through, the camouflage, the face paint, but the NERF
- 11:45Speaker 2: guns they bring.
- 11:46Speaker 4: We supply the darks.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Because there's thousands of one thousands of darks everywhere. We
- 11:51Speaker 2: set rooms up for competition for target shootings throughout the
- 11:55Speaker 2: throughout the wires, culture room set up. Food stations will
- 11:59Speaker 2: then take rights. But you know battles, we split them
- 12:03Speaker 2: up into teams and they really get into it and
- 12:06Speaker 2: have a good time. They hoop and holler and and
- 12:09Speaker 2: and the and the boys really enjoy it with their moms.
- 12:13Speaker 2: So it's a good opportunity. And you know, some bring cousins.
- 12:16Speaker 2: That doesn't have to be a direct parent. It can
- 12:19Speaker 2: be a parent figure in somebody's life as long as
- 12:22Speaker 2: you know, along with a father daughter dance and that
- 12:23Speaker 2: doesn't necessarily have to be a parent, so just adult
- 12:26Speaker 2: figure or a father figure or mother figure to company's events.
- 12:29Speaker 2: If there's kids out there that don't have that, they
- 12:32Speaker 2: can contact with WAM say as well and we connect
- 12:34Speaker 2: them with.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Somebody, help connect them with someone to help. That's outstanding.
- 12:39Speaker 1: And of course you do uh you know, Parents' Night
- 12:42Speaker 1: Out monthly, I think, and other programs I mentioned the daycare,
- 12:47Speaker 1: which is one of those things that yeah, I mean again.
- 12:51Speaker 3: It's a really cool program. I mean, you have lots
- 12:55Speaker 3: of kids, lots of kids.
- 12:57Speaker 2: You know, with some of the companies starting later in
- 12:58Speaker 2: the day. We have a large more school program right
- 13:01Speaker 2: it starts at seven and it ends when we can
- 13:04Speaker 2: take them a breakfast or take them to the classroom, okay,
- 13:06Speaker 2: and then we do it again in the afternoons.
- 13:08Speaker 3: It's before and after, before and.
- 13:10Speaker 4: After, and it lasts is six o'clock in the evenings.
- 13:12Speaker 2: And we do it at all the elementary schools except
- 13:14Speaker 2: for Jane Phillips right now, and they kind of we
- 13:18Speaker 2: don't want to do plicate services. The boys and girls
- 13:20Speaker 2: clumb Jason to have a great presence there, so there's
- 13:23Speaker 2: just no need to compete for after school separate one
- 13:26Speaker 2: of those great things.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Borziella is so rich and organizations to support whatever need
- 13:33Speaker 1: you have. But they it is so neat how they
- 13:35Speaker 1: build the lattice work of of of programs so they
- 13:39Speaker 1: don't typically overlap, or if they are overlapping, there's a
- 13:43Speaker 1: need that expands that exceeds what one organization could do.
- 13:47Speaker 1: And and I know you know that's uh, you know,
- 13:51Speaker 1: the cold weather coming and things like wild be the
- 13:54Speaker 1: Lights program and the lighthouse and the a Maya are
- 13:57Speaker 1: all trying to help people stay warm through these periods
- 14:01Speaker 1: and and uh, you know, so if you are in
- 14:04Speaker 1: need of a warm place, you know, reach out to.
- 14:07Speaker 3: One of those organizations. So hope you get situated.
- 14:10Speaker 4: And we refer people to that.
- 14:11Speaker 2: And we don't necessarily have lodging to stay at the LAMBCA,
- 14:15Speaker 2: but we often if people have problems with plumbing issues,
- 14:19Speaker 2: then we allow them come to the lampstanine shower or
- 14:21Speaker 2: the new other things that they need to you know,
- 14:24Speaker 2: non members, so they can come in as a guest,
- 14:27Speaker 2: no fees to use the showers if needed to, you know,
- 14:30Speaker 2: for the frozen play, cause that does happen.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Of course, this weekend.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Yeah, so the plumbers get really busy. They just can't
- 14:37Speaker 4: keep up.
- 14:38Speaker 2: In between the time of getting them fixed and the
- 14:40Speaker 2: water turn back on, we allow them come to the
- 14:41Speaker 2: lamp stany and shower and do that as well.
- 14:44Speaker 3: And then of course the traditional everybody.
- 14:46Speaker 1: I mean, if somebody I had a new employee and
- 14:48Speaker 1: she asked me, well, what what's a good gym around here?
- 14:52Speaker 3: And I said, well, you know, really, the why is
- 14:54Speaker 3: they had more programs, uh you know, more.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Yeah, great for ability spending glasses, I think still and
- 15:03Speaker 1: all kinds of classes probably, so tell us a little
- 15:06Speaker 1: bit about that.
- 15:06Speaker 2: And we offer a lot of group exercise classes pretty
- 15:10Speaker 2: much six days a week, and we offer childcare also
- 15:13Speaker 2: six things a week. Most of the time the childcare
- 15:16Speaker 2: is in the mornings or the evenings when the group
- 15:18Speaker 2: classes take part. So if you're a parent have a child,
- 15:21Speaker 2: you come and drop them off in that childcare facility
- 15:23Speaker 2: for free and while you exercise and I pick them
- 15:26Speaker 2: up afterwards. And those classes are very social, so there's
- 15:29Speaker 2: a lot going on there.
- 15:31Speaker 3: You know.
- 15:31Speaker 2: We get free towards, so come by the line say anytime,
- 15:34Speaker 2: and weas are run for free, so it doesn't cost
- 15:36Speaker 2: it's come to check us out, and it's not the
- 15:39Speaker 2: same way say it was fifteen to twenty years ago.
- 15:41Speaker 2: We've changed a lot from the downstairs weight room with
- 15:45Speaker 2: a bay of new equipment, the flooring. We have three
- 15:48Speaker 2: group exercise rooms. Our front room used to be office
- 15:52Speaker 2: is one time. From my understanding, now there's a lot
- 15:54Speaker 2: of cardio room. We have a ski cardio machine work
- 15:58Speaker 2: your arms at Jacob's ladder now.
- 16:00Speaker 4: So there's a lot of new.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Equipment we have and people just need to come to
- 16:03Speaker 2: check it out because it's not the same same fitness
- 16:06Speaker 2: center it was several years ago, let alone twelve to
- 16:09Speaker 2: fifteen years ago.
- 16:09Speaker 4: It's really changed a lot.
- 16:11Speaker 1: And of course it requires the membership, and you do
- 16:15Speaker 1: fundraising to support the programs and the facility and all that,
- 16:18Speaker 1: and there's always needs, I'm sure, And you have an
- 16:21Speaker 1: older building and yes, you know, I think that how's
- 16:24Speaker 1: that going? And are there I think typically you do
- 16:28Speaker 1: an annual campaign and things like that.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Tell us yes, when I started hopefully in a campaign
- 16:33Speaker 2: in February, we always jay funds to help offset the
- 16:36Speaker 2: expenses to keep membership process reasonable. We've worked with a
- 16:40Speaker 2: lot of communities partners several foundations here in Talent had
- 16:45Speaker 2: been very helpful to the YAMCA, the unid way, and
- 16:49Speaker 2: we're also working through an air quality grant that came from.
- 16:54Speaker 4: COVID that's wrapping up.
- 16:57Speaker 2: We're working with the city and the federal gun I
- 17:00Speaker 2: guess in a state to get some funds to replace
- 17:03Speaker 2: air conditioning units, which is really helpful. We just you
- 17:07Speaker 2: I've seen it in December, replaced all the swimming pool
- 17:11Speaker 2: windows and I had heard that.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Of centage going on. I haven't been down in that time.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Pantice, So that's going to have our energy calls a
- 17:18Speaker 2: lot more efficient and then they're going to open so
- 17:20Speaker 2: in the in the summertime, we actually been the better.
- 17:22Speaker 2: So we've had no way to open those windows before.
- 17:25Speaker 2: So those were replaced. We're and those all that funding
- 17:29Speaker 2: was provided by the federal government through the state, through
- 17:31Speaker 2: the city for us through that at that cost, so
- 17:34Speaker 2: it costs to WAM say, no additional funds to do that.
- 17:36Speaker 2: So we took advantage of those grants and opportunities, and
- 17:39Speaker 2: that's what we try to do is take advantage of
- 17:41Speaker 2: alved I want to call it free money. Yeah, so
- 17:46Speaker 2: let's say it's our tax money coming back to our
- 17:48Speaker 2: community and we get to take advantage of that. So
- 17:51Speaker 2: we're reinvesting in the YMCA to be more efficient and
- 17:55Speaker 2: and like I said, to keep the prices down. We
- 17:59Speaker 2: do a lot of are a few employment group discounts or.
- 18:05Speaker 4: Packages.
- 18:06Speaker 2: So if you're business interested in joining the WYMSA as
- 18:09Speaker 2: a group, we do the business group discounts and set
- 18:13Speaker 2: up that way through pay to a duct or automatic payments,
- 18:16Speaker 2: anyway we can do that.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Membership is not expensive, it just basic membership. I think
- 18:20Speaker 1: a family is sixty.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Dollars sixty dollars and then fifty five you know, goes
- 18:26Speaker 2: down from there for an adult. So we do not
- 18:30Speaker 2: really and we discount a lot of it if needed,
- 18:34Speaker 2: mostly half price on a lot of our scholarship financial assistants.
- 18:38Speaker 2: We do offer a single parent family rate with a
- 18:41Speaker 2: discount can be on that college rates, student rates.
- 18:44Speaker 4: We do a lot of stuff.
- 18:44Speaker 2: We have a lot of kids that actually walk down
- 18:47Speaker 2: from Central after school and they come and shoot basketball,
- 18:51Speaker 2: and they're great, well behaved, very respectful kids that come down.
- 18:55Speaker 2: You know, when they walk down, they really don't have
- 18:56Speaker 2: another place to go after school, so they come there
- 18:59Speaker 2: and shoot basketball and they have the little and they're
- 19:01Speaker 2: social and it's great for them to have that good,
- 19:04Speaker 2: safe environment. And you know, these days are a lot
- 19:07Speaker 2: worse places kids can be than the way mc A,
- 19:09Speaker 2: so we embraced them coming there and and and and
- 19:13Speaker 2: enjoy having them. And Sunday is another big day for
- 19:15Speaker 2: our gym with those youth come in and play basketball
- 19:18Speaker 2: full full court games, half court games, whatever it takes.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Can play pickup games. Pick up games, yes, a lot
- 19:23Speaker 2: like adult shees do at lunch. They don't do anymore now.
- 19:26Speaker 2: The kids are doing after school and on weekend. So
- 19:28Speaker 2: it's very enjoyable to watch them and they have a
- 19:31Speaker 2: good time all right.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Well as when we started. There's all pick a ball, racquetball, yes,
- 19:39Speaker 1: and yeah, I mean just every every kind of thing
- 19:42Speaker 1: you can imagine. If you intrigued by this, I just
- 19:45Speaker 1: go get it tour. I mean that's really what you
- 19:47Speaker 1: need to do to find out more about it. And uh,
- 19:50Speaker 1: you know, it's a please something. We've been members since
- 19:54Speaker 1: we moved to town pretty much, and I love to
- 19:58Speaker 1: go to the wide. I've used it for uh, the
- 20:00Speaker 1: basketball programs when our kids are younger, and been to
- 20:03Speaker 1: many many different.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Programs swim swimming and lap lap pool and it's great
- 20:11Speaker 3: and really thank you for what you do for the WHY.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I know you and a lot of volunteers required and
- 20:17Speaker 1: the board, yeah, great support from them and the other
- 20:21Speaker 1: the corporate part of our community is also really I
- 20:26Speaker 1: mean it's throughout the whole history of the Why has
- 20:29Speaker 1: been so critical to maintaining and growing your impact.
- 20:34Speaker 3: And I think making it better for artswel.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Yes, our board director are volunteers. They don't get paid
- 20:40Speaker 2: to be on board directors and they really help us
- 20:42Speaker 2: with the community needs and assessment of what our mission
- 20:45Speaker 2: and plans are and going forward and it's very helpful.
- 20:48Speaker 2: One number one I thought really fast is you know,
- 20:51Speaker 2: people don't understand that we're a business. And we have
- 20:54Speaker 2: right around one hundred employees, only seven full time people
- 20:59Speaker 2: and ramp up to around one hundred and sixteen one
- 21:02Speaker 2: hundred and seventy employees in the summertime, so we're we're
- 21:05Speaker 2: a big business here in the community and people think
- 21:07Speaker 2: it's just as a gym or a whole for a
- 21:10Speaker 2: lot more than that, and provide a lot of opportunity
- 21:12Speaker 2: for people as well well.
- 21:14Speaker 1: If people need to check it out and support the why,
- 21:17Speaker 1: and it's so great to hear about these events coming
- 21:21Speaker 1: up and I know you've got We mentioned the Father
- 21:25Speaker 1: Daughter Dance on February twenty first, the Mother's Son nerf War.
- 21:30Speaker 1: On April eleventh, there's Healthy Kids DAG and later in
- 21:34Speaker 1: April April eighteenth, you have Parents' Night out, the access,
- 21:39Speaker 1: You've got fitness classes, aquatics, school age care.
- 21:43Speaker 3: You know, just so many programs and that's just the
- 21:45Speaker 3: tip of the iceberg.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Really, and that's in yes, and very social environment. You know,
- 21:51Speaker 2: our classes are great, very welcoming, so it's not hard
- 21:55Speaker 2: to break the actually into our class and to meet
- 21:57Speaker 2: people and work out with the girl.
- 22:00Speaker 4: The instructors are very well.
- 22:01Speaker 3: They're just community members. I mean, yes, yeah, they're all
- 22:04Speaker 3: just members.
- 22:05Speaker 1: And the people that have you know, maybe started in
- 22:08Speaker 1: the class and do it over at some point or
- 22:10Speaker 1: where said hey, we need a class like this, and
- 22:12Speaker 1: you guys are open to that kind of thing too.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Right, Yes, a lot of our instructors, I mean it's
- 22:18Speaker 2: not a full time job. I mean they teach once
- 22:20Speaker 2: a week. They're not gonna live out of it. I
- 22:23Speaker 2: mean you can't pay somebody for one hour, one class
- 22:25Speaker 2: and they survive on, so they really do it all
- 22:28Speaker 2: the kindness of their heart and dedication the fitness into
- 22:31Speaker 2: the YMCA. And we have some people that actually just
- 22:33Speaker 2: foundeer and don't get paid and teach class and show
- 22:38Speaker 2: up in the mornings at five forty five or six
- 22:40Speaker 2: o'slow to teach a spin class and it's like, oh
- 22:42Speaker 2: my goodness, you're doing this for free.
- 22:44Speaker 4: Okay, thank you, and has a little following.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Of people that comes up and we have a great
- 22:48Speaker 2: group I don't understand that come in the morning to
- 22:52Speaker 2: exercise to actually turn to virtual We have virtual exercise
- 22:56Speaker 2: classes in some of our exercise rooms that you can
- 22:59Speaker 2: do program on iPad and it can teach you on
- 23:01Speaker 2: a big screen TV. So we have at heard that
- 23:04Speaker 2: comes up together and as during the week in the
- 23:06Speaker 2: morning as well as some people do it at lunch and
- 23:08Speaker 2: different times in the day. But it's just a great
- 23:12Speaker 2: environment to do those virtual flashes as well.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Well. It's a great story.
- 23:17Speaker 1: I'm glad that we got a chance to get you
- 23:19Speaker 1: back on the show today, Robert, and I wish you
- 23:22Speaker 1: great success at the spring with all the events coming up,
- 23:25Speaker 1: and let us know about the when you get into
- 23:28Speaker 1: the annual campaign again.
- 23:29Speaker 3: And we'll help promoted that on the show here.
- 23:33Speaker 1: And anyway, thanks again, and we're as everybody is getting
- 23:38Speaker 1: ready for this winter weather we have on our doorstep,
- 23:42Speaker 1: and then hopefully it won't be quite as as bad.
- 23:46Speaker 3: A little snoke sounds pretty actually it does.
- 23:48Speaker 1: And you know, especially if we get a few inches,
- 23:51Speaker 1: that'll be really nice and hopefully it will not last
- 23:55Speaker 1: too long.
- 23:56Speaker 3: They're supposed to be very cold though.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I understand this weekend day night especially, and.
- 24:02Speaker 4: We're really good for having a two week winner around here.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:05Speaker 1: No, that's that's what we get usually and it's got
- 24:10Speaker 1: everybody's imagination going here, So get ready. Like I said,
- 24:14Speaker 1: if we can help with your vehicle preparation, don't need
- 24:19Speaker 1: to do anything a stream, just make sure your battery
- 24:21Speaker 1: is good, that your tires have some tread on them,
- 24:24Speaker 1: or just stay home. I think that's a good advice
- 24:27Speaker 1: too if things get a little tricky there. But anyway,
- 24:32Speaker 1: we'll be out there if you are interested in a
- 24:34Speaker 1: new vehicle. Like I said, we bet we're off to
- 24:37Speaker 1: a tour and pace this January. We've got a great
- 24:40Speaker 1: selection of new and used vehicles, our noncommissioned sales team
- 24:46Speaker 1: and our simple prices. What we call fast, transparent and
- 24:50Speaker 1: fun purchase process really focused on the customer. Great tools
- 24:54Speaker 1: on our website. They're the same tools we use in
- 24:57Speaker 1: the showroom to help you buy your car. There's a
- 25:00Speaker 1: lot of things you can do in there to go
- 25:03Speaker 1: and compare your the purchase to the least. To a
- 25:07Speaker 1: one pay lease is a cool thing that we're doing
- 25:10Speaker 1: more and more of as people are. You know, some
- 25:13Speaker 1: people can pay cash for a car, and the truth
- 25:16Speaker 1: is that you're kind of taking all your money out
- 25:20Speaker 1: of something to put it into a vehicle that's going
- 25:23Speaker 1: to depreciate. If you're the one pay lease, you can
- 25:25Speaker 1: get half of the car or whatever amount of it
- 25:27Speaker 1: you want. Keep that cash, put it in, leave it
- 25:30Speaker 1: in your your money market. Saying conservatively it's going to
- 25:34Speaker 1: get four or five percent, could get a lot more
- 25:36Speaker 1: than that if you're a little more aggressive and you
- 25:39Speaker 1: can make you know, you know, anywhere from probably fifteen
- 25:42Speaker 1: hundred to four or five six thousand.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Dollars on the money you didn't put in your car.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Also, one pay lease is that you normally have no
- 25:52Speaker 1: interest because you're paying for the vehicle up front, so
- 25:54Speaker 1: there's really nothing to charge interest on so it's a
- 25:58Speaker 1: way to get a zero percent situation on a vehicle.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Prepay it, keep half through the money for the vehicle.
- 26:08Speaker 1: It's you know, if you're going to keep your car
- 26:10Speaker 1: ten or fifteen years, it's probably not the best thing.
- 26:12Speaker 1: But if it's a three or four year cycle you're on,
- 26:14Speaker 1: it's a great way to look at buying a car.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Our team can explain that to you.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Just come on out to Dunge just Toyota, or you
- 26:22Speaker 1: can do it on our website. Just there's a way
- 26:25Speaker 1: to look at the cost of that and structure is
- 26:28Speaker 1: the way you want right on the website and we
- 26:30Speaker 1: can let us know and we'll take it right from
- 26:32Speaker 1: there when you come in.
- 26:33Speaker 3: It's so easy. I can do it. Yes, you can talk.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I have.
- 26:40Speaker 3: It really does work. It's great.
- 26:41Speaker 1: And just then we encourage everybody to go check it
- 26:45Speaker 1: out at Dungestoyota dot com or come see it's at
- 26:47Speaker 1: nineteen eleven Southeast Washington Boulevard, or you can call us
- 26:51Speaker 1: at nine one eight three three three oh nine hundred
- 26:54Speaker 1: and if you why contact information, I know you have
- 26:57Speaker 1: a website.
- 26:58Speaker 3: What's the phone number?
- 27:00Speaker 2: Phone numbers nine one eight three three six zero seven
- 27:03Speaker 2: one three, or just come by and see us.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Like I said, free tours. Yeah, so anytime.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Downtown right next to the Bill Dungeons Baseball Stadium, yes,
- 27:11Speaker 1: ye yeah yeah.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Park to go to a baseball game and come in
- 27:15Speaker 2: take a.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Tour before you go to the game.
- 27:17Speaker 3: All right, all right, thank you very much.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Folks, you've been watching and listening to car Talk with
- 27:21Speaker 2: the Dungeons Toyota right here on K one, the one
- 27:24Speaker 2: you trust.
