- 0:00Speaker 1: The following program is produced by the Tech Talk Radio Network.
- 0:04Speaker 2: My problem is, I've got my pointer in the middle
- 0:06Speaker 2: of the screen and I need to move it to
- 0:09Speaker 2: the left, but my mouth is over on the left
- 0:12Speaker 2: hand side of the pad, and if I go any
- 0:15Speaker 2: further to the left, it's going to go off the pad. Anyway,
- 0:18Speaker 2: if you can give me a call, I appreciate it.
- 0:20Speaker 2: I'll wait till you until I hear from you.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Welcome to another episode of tech Talk Radio.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean de Weird, I'm Matt Jones,
- 0:31Speaker 1: and I'm justin.
- 0:32Speaker 4: Let me welcome.
- 0:32Speaker 3: It's good to have Matt back with It's been a
- 0:34Speaker 3: little while.
- 0:35Speaker 4: How you doing, Matt, I'm I'm alive and right now
- 0:40Speaker 4: that that's a victory, that's good.
- 0:43Speaker 1: We're glad you're here. I have to just it is
- 0:46Speaker 1: in a bad mood today. We can tell because he
- 0:49Speaker 1: doesn't hired, he's tired, and he doesn't have the football
- 0:53Speaker 1: game on the TV because last week was an absolute nightmare.
- 0:58Speaker 4: That's a little ridiculous on their part. Honestly it Listen, remember,
- 1:03Speaker 4: if you don't have the approval of CBS, the NFL
- 1:06Speaker 4: and it's subsidiaries, which we saw in Family Guy when
- 1:09Speaker 4: the FBI busted.
- 1:11Speaker 5: Oh no, no, no, this.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Was the mouse.
- 1:12Speaker 4: This was the mouse. Yeah, oh it was the mouse.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Those Monday night football, Yeah yeah yeah football, Monday night football.
- 1:19Speaker 5: I literally, for those of you don't know, I mean
- 1:21Speaker 5: we we also filmed this and we put it up
- 1:23Speaker 5: on the website or on YouTube, and I literally had
- 1:26Speaker 5: the game on in the background and it was like
- 1:29Speaker 5: half of my television.
- 1:30Speaker 4: You could even see the whole thing. It was like
- 1:32Speaker 4: a half of it, and there was no audio marked.
- 1:34Speaker 4: There was no audio. They marked it for copyright.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I went to upload this the video. You know, we
- 1:39Speaker 1: have the one hour video. And I went to upload
- 1:41Speaker 1: it and the YouTube plagged it. It said, oh, this
- 1:45Speaker 1: has copyright copyritten content in their NFL, and it showed
- 1:49Speaker 1: me where those areas were. So I thought, wow, okay,
- 1:53Speaker 1: that's kind of crazy. So I went and looked and
- 1:55Speaker 1: I'm like, it looks just like every other scene, right.
- 1:59Speaker 1: So I finally I said, okay, it said that it
- 2:02Speaker 1: will still play though, but it's not going to affect me.
- 2:05Speaker 1: It's not a copyright strike against me for having this. Okay,
- 2:09Speaker 1: that's good. So I upload it. Do all the things
- 2:11Speaker 1: that I'm doing. I put it on our blog, tech
- 2:13Speaker 1: Talk Radio blog, and you know, I put the nice synopsis, photos,
- 2:17Speaker 1: the whole bit, and then I go to share it
- 2:19Speaker 1: and I pull up the blog and the blog says
- 2:22Speaker 1: video disabled due to copyright claimed by NFL.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Like what, that's ridiculous.
- 2:27Speaker 1: The only way you could watch it was to click
- 2:29Speaker 1: through on YouTube, and the people aren't going to watch that.
- 2:32Speaker 3: I want to make it easy for people. And we
- 2:34Speaker 3: were laughing.
- 2:34Speaker 1: About it because remember at the end of last week's show, Sean,
- 2:37Speaker 1: did we not all kind of joke around that, Hey,
- 2:40Speaker 1: I wonder if you get flagged for that?
- 2:43Speaker 6: We're just like, oh, I wonder if we're gonna get
- 2:44Speaker 6: flagged for that. A little bit of the NFL you
- 2:46Speaker 6: can see in the background, right, and I'm curious if
- 2:49Speaker 6: it was because Justin didn't even have the audio up.
- 2:51Speaker 4: No, not that, No, no, no, not at all, of
- 2:54Speaker 4: course not no.
- 2:55Speaker 5: But I mean, I find this ridiculous because people will
- 2:57Speaker 5: actually get away with live streaming, uh like UFC fights
- 3:03Speaker 5: or or whatever on Twitch, and all they've got to
- 3:05Speaker 5: do is sit there and with a controller in their
- 3:08Speaker 5: hand like they're a streamer and pretend to be playing
- 3:10Speaker 5: the game and they don't. Yeah, and then they're like, no,
- 3:14Speaker 5: it's not even a game. Yeah, seriously, they don't even playing.
- 3:17Speaker 5: It's an actual real thing. It's a real the real
- 3:20Speaker 5: UFC or the real NFL, and all they have to
- 3:23Speaker 5: do is sit there in the corner with a controller
- 3:24Speaker 5: in their hand, and it confuses the algorithm to think, oh, no,
- 3:27Speaker 5: they're just playing a game.
- 3:29Speaker 3: It is.
- 3:29Speaker 4: The way I have watched like the last three title
- 3:32Speaker 4: fights is I just go on Twitch and search UFC
- 3:36Speaker 4: and there's some dude with a controllers sitting there, and
- 3:38Speaker 4: he like, I know, some people play games weird, Like,
- 3:42Speaker 4: I know, you got the guys who have like the
- 3:44Speaker 4: controller like tucked under their chin, and that doesn't make
- 3:47Speaker 4: sense to me. That's uncomfortable. But the guy who'll sit
- 3:49Speaker 4: there with this controller like sat on his chest to
- 3:52Speaker 4: make sure it's in view, and if you watch, his
- 3:55Speaker 4: fingers never move once. But he's like, yeah, definitely playing
- 4:00Speaker 4: UFC fight night, not watching the title fight at all.
- 4:03Speaker 4: And I'm like, well, I appreciate your efforts because now
- 4:07Speaker 4: I can watch it and not have to pay money
- 4:08Speaker 4: or go to Buffalo Wild Wings.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Well, I ended up having to go into the blog
- 4:12Speaker 1: deleting that post. I deleted everything YouTube, the blog post.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I thought, I wanted to be clean. I want our
- 4:17Speaker 1: listeners are viewers, followers, to be able to check the
- 4:21Speaker 1: video out. So I thought, okay, I'll go in and
- 4:23Speaker 1: I had numbers there where you know, where content was flagged.
- 4:27Speaker 1: And I went to those numbers and I took a
- 4:30Speaker 1: little pastel screen and I just kind of blurred everything
- 4:34Speaker 1: right where the TV was, and I did it in
- 4:38Speaker 1: both those sections.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Then I took it.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I saved it, I re encoded the video, uploaded the video,
- 4:44Speaker 1: and it got flagged for another section somewhere in the video.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I thought, it's gonna flag me throughout the entire video.
- 4:50Speaker 1: So what I ended up doing as I ended up
- 4:53Speaker 1: finding a shot like we have right now where it's
- 4:56Speaker 1: just the black TV. And I went ahead and and
- 5:00Speaker 1: I cropped it. I went into Photoshop, did a special
- 5:03Speaker 1: cropping on it, and then put pop that into the
- 5:07Speaker 1: video with Justin. And it was tedious because I had
- 5:10Speaker 1: to watch the video. There's a couple of shots where
- 5:12Speaker 1: there's like a little bright flash you could tell something
- 5:15Speaker 1: was there, but that kind of got fixed because we
- 5:19Speaker 1: were talking a whole hour of this and every time
- 5:21Speaker 1: Justin talked, I had to go in and fix it.
- 5:24Speaker 1: But it ended up looking pretty good. I gotta say
- 5:26Speaker 1: I patted myself on the back there.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Oh it's a good job. But I mean it's it's
- 5:30Speaker 4: absolutely ridiculous.
- 5:31Speaker 5: I mean, I'm gonna be honestly, I would not be
- 5:33Speaker 5: surprised if we don't get flagged today for Sean's Mountain
- 5:36Speaker 5: Dew can sitting and frame.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Oh where is that, Sean? We got to see your
- 5:40Speaker 3: mountain doo voo doo. I'm gonna make a big screen
- 5:45Speaker 3: now we're gonna get flag.
- 5:46Speaker 6: It's there zero sugars. So every year Mountain Dew puts
- 5:49Speaker 6: out this Halloween flavor. It's a mystery flavor and they
- 5:52Speaker 6: kind of like they try to get you to guess
- 5:54Speaker 6: and you can potentially win something. This one is definitely
- 5:57Speaker 6: tastes exactly like Smarties. Oh my guys, all right, it
- 6:02Speaker 6: is so good.
- 6:03Speaker 1: So if you watch the video and that can has
- 6:06Speaker 1: suddenly changed to something else, you know, we got flagged.
- 6:10Speaker 5: Well, or it could be the MacBook box in the
- 6:12Speaker 5: back of my Yeah, I mean that could get flagged.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Matter of fact.
- 6:16Speaker 4: That's that's marketing.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Matter of fact.
- 6:19Speaker 7: Sean.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I know we were kind of eyeballing his his MacBook,
- 6:24Speaker 1: your new MacBook.
- 6:25Speaker 3: When did you get this?
- 6:26Speaker 4: About eight, no nine hours ago?
- 6:28Speaker 3: So have you even taken it out of the box yet?
- 6:30Speaker 4: I spent nine hours setting up this. Okay, so backstory
- 6:35Speaker 4: of why about the Mac because listeners who know who
- 6:38Speaker 4: have listened to us before in any segment I'm on now,
- 6:41Speaker 4: I'm not an Apple fanboy. For those who don't know.
- 6:45Speaker 4: With my background cybersecurity, I got laid off in July
- 6:49Speaker 4: at the very end of July and jump back into
- 6:54Speaker 4: the utter dumpster fire that is the job market. And
- 6:58Speaker 4: in the two years I've been in my current company,
- 7:00Speaker 4: it changes really fast. But in the last two years
- 7:03Speaker 4: it changed in ways that my company did not adopt,
- 7:07Speaker 4: so I have no background in them. And I looked
- 7:10Speaker 4: at all the courses I'm going to be taking over
- 7:12Speaker 4: the next three months to try and be employable again,
- 7:15Speaker 4: and looked in the best computer for all of those
- 7:19Speaker 4: courses combined was a new Mac. So I went and
- 7:24Speaker 4: you know, went to best Buy today. My wife and
- 7:26Speaker 4: I talked about it, and I bought a new fourteen
- 7:29Speaker 4: inch M three pro chipset MacBook Pro nice and the
- 7:35Speaker 4: main reason I went with Mac is I'm going to
- 7:37Speaker 4: be doing a lot of Linux work in some specific
- 7:42Speaker 4: so Linux comes in what are called distros or flavors distributions,
- 7:46Speaker 4: and I'm going to be trying to get certified in
- 7:47Speaker 4: one that's specifically built for penetration testing, called HALLI Linux,
- 7:54Speaker 4: and the Mac. The MacBook Pro was really highly rated
- 7:58Speaker 4: for it, whether running it as a native VM for
- 8:01Speaker 4: duel booting, or running it as a virtual machine, which
- 8:04Speaker 4: is what I decided to do. But I almost called
- 8:06Speaker 4: an audible the moment I walked in, I was like,
- 8:08Speaker 4: I'm gonna get the Mac. Everybody was busy, so I
- 8:11Speaker 4: just kind of did a loop of all the laptops
- 8:13Speaker 4: and I saw this new Lenovo Yoga nine and it's
- 8:20Speaker 4: the first laptop I've seen where the keyboard is like
- 8:23Speaker 4: outside of the Microsoft surface where it's a wireless keyboard
- 8:26Speaker 4: comes with it and it's actually two screens like this, Yeah,
- 8:31Speaker 4: it folds together. And I was like, I'm also going
- 8:33Speaker 4: to do coding classes and that would be really nice.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Promptly jumped on one of the computers and was like
- 8:38Speaker 4: loading Linux onto this machine and everyone was like, don't
- 8:42Speaker 4: there's your solution. Get a Mac, and I was like, well, hell,
- 8:46Speaker 4: all right, I guess I'm gonna get the Mac. But
- 8:49Speaker 4: with that, the other one that I wanted to bring
- 8:51Speaker 4: to your guys's attention, they have finally released an augmented
- 8:56Speaker 4: reality laptop.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Oh you're kidding me.
- 8:59Speaker 4: It is not come with a screen at all. There
- 9:03Speaker 4: is no screen with this thing. It looks like the
- 9:05Speaker 4: bottom half of a MacBook Pro.
- 9:07Speaker 3: And instead of.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Augmented reality glasses, that's your screen and they're hardwired into it.
- 9:14Speaker 4: So instead of like, oh I about a fourteen inch screen,
- 9:17Speaker 4: you have glasses that can be a fourteen foot screen
- 9:20Speaker 4: if you so decide. But seeing that, as we talked
- 9:24Speaker 4: about VR, like one of the last times I was
- 9:27Speaker 4: on here, like and I brought up I'm surprised that
- 9:30Speaker 4: no one's using that for their display. They're now doing that,
- 9:34Speaker 4: and I think that's what we're going to start seeing
- 9:37Speaker 4: here in like the next five years, is display screens
- 9:40Speaker 4: are going to be a nice feature, a bonus that, oh,
- 9:44Speaker 4: if you spend extra one hundred bucks you can get
- 9:46Speaker 4: the externally attachable display. Otherwise, pop these glasses on and
- 9:52Speaker 4: welcome to the Oasis from Ready Player one. Because everything's
- 9:55Speaker 4: going to be done VR now or AR. But it's
- 9:59Speaker 4: called this spacetop, the space laptop, it's the Space top.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I don't know, I kind of I'd like the idea
- 10:05Speaker 1: of having the screen even if this is a feature.
- 10:09Speaker 1: But I think people are gonna buy that for that feature, right,
- 10:12Speaker 1: I mean I can I can't imagine somebody not buying
- 10:15Speaker 1: it because they want to completely immerse themselves in this
- 10:19Speaker 1: environment like that. But I'd always want to have, Like
- 10:22Speaker 1: right now, I have two screens for my laptop and
- 10:25Speaker 1: I love it that are available. I would want to
- 10:27Speaker 1: have that as kind of like a backup thing.
- 10:30Speaker 4: It's crazy. I'm actually looking at this right now. So
- 10:32Speaker 4: you open it and the case like peels back and
- 10:36Speaker 4: folds over and under and normally goes like over, and
- 10:40Speaker 4: there's like a little like camel hump where the glasses are,
- 10:42Speaker 4: but where it like origami folds over is the webcam
- 10:46Speaker 4: and you can actually it's got like little stilts so
- 10:49Speaker 4: you can pull it up and down to adjust where
- 10:52Speaker 4: it views you.
- 10:53Speaker 3: So then you've got these ar glasses, this.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Like little keyboard and a camera that you can like
- 10:59Speaker 4: perfectly set and there you go.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I'm kind of wondering though, Apple Sean, how much was
- 11:06Speaker 1: the price on the.
- 11:07Speaker 3: The the VR from Apple.
- 11:09Speaker 6: Thirty five hundred bucks.
- 11:11Speaker 4: Yeah, it's ridiculous.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Thirty five hundred bucks.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Someone, are this is the pricing on something like this? Uh,
- 11:16Speaker 1: Matt gonna be similar to that? Would you spend that
- 11:18Speaker 1: much money on something like that? Because I know, Sean,
- 11:20Speaker 1: you said you wouldn't spend thirty five hundred bucks on
- 11:23Speaker 1: the Apple Vision.
- 11:24Speaker 6: Absolutely absolutely.
- 11:26Speaker 4: MSRP for the siteful Space Top g One, a screenless
- 11:31Speaker 4: laptop that uses augmented reality to create a virtual display
- 11:35Speaker 4: as a manufacturer suggested retail price of nineteen hundred dollars
- 11:40Speaker 4: not bad. That is cheaper than what I just paid
- 11:43Speaker 4: for this MacBook Pro.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 11:46Speaker 1: My son sent me specs for an MSI gaming laptop
- 11:50Speaker 1: that he's looking at and I saw MSI. He said,
- 11:53Speaker 1: I didn't, I've never heard of them. Are they any good?
- 11:55Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, yeah, MSI is good. Yeah, you'll
- 11:58Speaker 1: be fine with that. But it was twenty one hundred bucks.
- 12:01Speaker 1: But it had a forty seventy in it. I'm thinking,
- 12:03Speaker 1: do you really need that? Do you really need that?
- 12:06Speaker 5: I mean, I got I got my a sus the
- 12:08Speaker 5: one that I use for work. You know, my a
- 12:10Speaker 5: sus Rock laptop. It's a seventeen inch screen, what is it,
- 12:15Speaker 5: thirty seventy TI graphics card, it's a nine processor, sixty
- 12:19Speaker 5: four gigs a RAM I want to say that was
- 12:22Speaker 5: nineteen hundred bucks total. And that thing can run circles
- 12:25Speaker 5: around anything else that's obnestly. I don't think I would
- 12:27Speaker 5: buy this, this, this AR one. I mean it's not
- 12:30Speaker 5: because of the specs or what it can do. I
- 12:31Speaker 5: think it's just gonna I think people would just it
- 12:34Speaker 5: would look too weird, and people would just be staring
- 12:36Speaker 5: at you and asking questions, and you would never be
- 12:38Speaker 5: able to get anything done because it's so new that
- 12:41Speaker 5: nobody's ever seen something like that. And I just don't
- 12:43Speaker 5: I wouldn't want it. I wouldn't want it because I
- 12:45Speaker 5: wouldn't want to be sitting there constantly taking out my
- 12:46Speaker 5: glass and going, yeah, it's an AR laptop, leave me alone.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Please.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Can you imagine being like a public public bus or
- 12:53Speaker 1: even an airplane on a flight, you know, and you
- 12:56Speaker 1: whip out the glasses, you put them on, you get
- 12:58Speaker 1: the laptop in your lap.
- 12:59Speaker 3: People can be and what the heck is he doing?
- 13:02Speaker 6: Yeah? So one of the guys that I played Dungeons
- 13:04Speaker 6: and Dragons with does have the air glasses and he
- 13:08Speaker 6: connects them to his MacBook and does the dual displays
- 13:11Speaker 6: in his glasses and just chills in his room.
- 13:15Speaker 4: I mean, pro no, he can't.
- 13:18Speaker 6: There there are glasses that connect via a connection to
- 13:21Speaker 6: his laptop that can act as external displays for a MacBook.
- 13:25Speaker 6: I'll have to get to God, have to get with
- 13:26Speaker 6: him to see what actually the mad model is. But
- 13:30Speaker 6: he loves them. I got to check him out not
- 13:32Speaker 6: that long ago. And it's weird because you know, it's
- 13:35Speaker 6: they don't have diopters in them, so you can't adjust
- 13:37Speaker 6: the tier. You kind of have to like move them
- 13:39Speaker 6: forward enough to kind of get focused in there. But
- 13:41Speaker 6: you can scale the size and all that stuff. It's
- 13:44Speaker 6: it's it was pretty neat, but I just don't know
- 13:47Speaker 6: if I would do it.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that would be different.
- 13:50Speaker 4: I mean they said kind of said the same things
- 13:52Speaker 4: when like laptops very first came out, was you know,
- 13:56Speaker 4: people sitting there like, oh my gosh.
- 14:00Speaker 7: Eventually, yeah, it's the CEO of Nvidia actually came out
- 14:07Speaker 7: I think it was yesterday and said we are at
- 14:09Speaker 7: the forefront of a brand new industrial revolution.
- 14:14Speaker 4: And I was chatting about this with Lee the other
- 14:16Speaker 4: day and I was like, we the original industrial revolution
- 14:19Speaker 4: was obviously manufacturing hard labor like things that you know,
- 14:24Speaker 4: normally have people their hands on AI, and the things
- 14:28Speaker 4: that are coming out now are the in my opinion,
- 14:30Speaker 4: the digital equivalency of that same thing, to where so
- 14:34Speaker 4: many things that might be repetitive, Oh hey I gotta
- 14:37Speaker 4: I gotta script how to do this task so I
- 14:39Speaker 4: don't have to do hands on Now you can just
- 14:41Speaker 4: be like, hey, chat GPT, we do this all the time,
- 14:45Speaker 4: Can you script it for me? And it's like, yeah, sure,
- 14:47Speaker 4: got you bro. So I think with with that tagging
- 14:52Speaker 4: onto VR ar XR, whatever they're going to brand it as,
- 14:59Speaker 4: I think we're seeing kind of turning the corner to
- 15:04Speaker 4: the what's going to be next? And it's exciting. It's weird,
- 15:08Speaker 4: but it's.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Kind of funny when you think about it, though, because
- 15:12Speaker 1: I think we would have thought of in Nvidia as
- 15:15Speaker 1: part of this. You know, well, they make graphics cards,
- 15:17Speaker 1: you know, they beg they do this, they do that,
- 15:20Speaker 1: and we would never have thought of them as being
- 15:22Speaker 1: a big player in this next you know digital you
- 15:26Speaker 1: know revolution, and they have been because they put everything
- 15:30Speaker 1: into saying AI is going to be here, We're going
- 15:33Speaker 1: to support it, We're going to create the products that
- 15:35Speaker 1: will be able to handle all of this, you know,
- 15:39Speaker 1: artificial intelligence and the needs for this. And those people
- 15:43Speaker 1: that bought into the sock with Nvidia that can now
- 15:46Speaker 1: they're just graphics card company. Those people that bought in
- 15:49Speaker 1: are doing pretty good.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Oh yeah, my friend who bought into that when he
- 15:54Speaker 4: was a teenager retired last week.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Amazing, yeah, yeah, amazing.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Younger than me, not bitter at all.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Now, Sean, you had a story that you sent us
- 16:06Speaker 1: this week. Have we confirmed this that there's there's kind
- 16:09Speaker 1: of a run going on for Intel now?
- 16:12Speaker 6: So it's it popped up in the trades that Qualcomm
- 16:16Speaker 6: had approached Intel to do a friendly takeover. That just
- 16:21Speaker 6: means basically that Qualcom would buy out all of the
- 16:24Speaker 6: stock from the from the board members at at Intel
- 16:27Speaker 6: and then basically shift priorities into Qualkmm that I saw
- 16:32Speaker 6: that article yesterday today. I just read that Qualcomm us
- 16:35Speaker 6: just laid off a bunch of people. So I had
- 16:38Speaker 6: no idea. Oh wow, right, So I mean Intel is
- 16:41Speaker 6: in the tank, is in the toilet right now, right,
- 16:43Speaker 6: I didn't think.
- 16:44Speaker 4: They were that bad. Why are they in the toilet?
- 16:47Speaker 6: So you've not seen all of the issues with the
- 16:50Speaker 6: fourteen generation and the thirteen generation chips Yeah, so it's
- 16:54Speaker 6: the Intel had this has this major issue with the
- 16:57Speaker 6: thirteen the thirteen nine Hunters series, and the early fourteenth
- 17:02Speaker 6: gen chipsets that they are basically at the at the
- 17:07Speaker 6: transistor level frying themselves.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Have they come out with the fixed yet?
- 17:12Speaker 1: I know, I think it was gonna be the They.
- 17:16Speaker 6: They say that if if your processor is showing symptoms
- 17:20Speaker 6: of this problem, it's going to continue to get worse. Right,
- 17:23Speaker 6: your processor is just going to continue to basically overheat
- 17:27Speaker 6: itself and just fry itself. So then it's just like,
- 17:30Speaker 6: well just rm an. Well, they've basically run out of stock.
- 17:34Speaker 6: They can't give people what they what they bought, so
- 17:37Speaker 6: they're either giving you a newer processor that has the
- 17:40Speaker 6: same problem, an older processor that doesn't have the problem,
- 17:43Speaker 6: or they're just refunding you and saying good luck. Oh wow,
- 17:47Speaker 6: So it's been.
- 17:48Speaker 4: Whose fault was this an engineer, the designers, It's.
- 17:52Speaker 6: A problem at Intel, and it just it did got
- 17:55Speaker 6: past quality control somehow, and it yeah, it's it's it's been,
- 18:00Speaker 6: it's been. Their stock is really really low, like they
- 18:04Speaker 6: they are on an absolute decline right now.
- 18:07Speaker 4: I thought they were just too big to fail, I
- 18:08Speaker 4: mean Intel, So.
- 18:10Speaker 6: Right, so this is this is the big question. Right.
- 18:12Speaker 6: You have you have am D, you have Intel, you
- 18:15Speaker 6: have Qualcomm, you have a couple of other Chinese chipet manufacturers.
- 18:19Speaker 6: Right if Qualcom comes in and says, well, we're gonna
- 18:22Speaker 6: buy out Intel, well there's a lot of people that
- 18:25Speaker 6: are gonna say that's going to violate some you know
- 18:28Speaker 6: whatever the law is anti trust law, right because that's
- 18:34Speaker 6: they're going to qual Coms is just going to have
- 18:35Speaker 6: this huge share. And you've already seen Qualcomm trying to
- 18:39Speaker 6: sneak into the lower end laptop market, so it's smart
- 18:43Speaker 6: for Qualcom to try and do that where Qualcomm has
- 18:46Speaker 6: just historically been a cell phone chip manufacturer or other
- 18:51Speaker 6: you know, onboard integrated circuit manufacturer. So it'll be interesting
- 18:55Speaker 6: to see. But I can't see why it doesn't make
- 18:58Speaker 6: sense that companies aren't trying to buy Intel and if
- 19:01Speaker 6: somebody could absorb them and rebranded or spin it around
- 19:04Speaker 6: into whatever, I don't see how that couldn't benefit some
- 19:09Speaker 6: company that has enough money to spend on you guys.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Remember it would have been the nineties when there was
- 19:14Speaker 1: a penny issue. The Penny And processors had some kind
- 19:19Speaker 1: of issues with them, and they did a fix. They
- 19:22Speaker 1: basically replaced many of the processors. I remember going through that.
- 19:26Speaker 1: It was, you know, and that's when you had opportunities
- 19:29Speaker 1: that you could use Cyrix or you used you know,
- 19:32Speaker 1: or AMD. You know, you would use those processors that
- 19:36Speaker 1: DLC forty and the X forty and some of those
- 19:38Speaker 1: other ones. And Intel had these Penny and processors. But
- 19:41Speaker 1: there was a problem and a lot of people thought
- 19:44Speaker 1: the same thing back then that that was going to
- 19:46Speaker 1: be it, and they ended up coming out of that.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Okay, I'm hoping.
- 19:50Speaker 1: I am hoping because we've had people from Intel on
- 19:53Speaker 1: the show. We still know people that work at Intel.
- 19:57Speaker 1: We were kind of hoping maybe they will come out
- 19:59Speaker 1: of this. But you know, I don't know. When we
- 20:01Speaker 1: got that news about Qualcomm, we thought, well, wait a minute,
- 20:04Speaker 1: maybe this situation is a little more bleak than we'd
- 20:08Speaker 1: like to There's problems, and I'm hoping they're able to
- 20:11Speaker 1: fix them.
- 20:11Speaker 3: I really am. So here's it. Here's the thing.
- 20:14Speaker 4: We've discussed this before. We know I'm an AMD fanboy.
- 20:18Speaker 4: I've been an AMD fanboy for most of my life,
- 20:22Speaker 4: way back when. One of the things that really changed
- 20:25Speaker 4: and turned AMD around because they were really lagging behind
- 20:30Speaker 4: Intel for a long time. AMD was the very first
- 20:33Speaker 4: company between Intel and AMD, they were the first ones
- 20:37Speaker 4: to create a dual course CPU. It was the original
- 20:41Speaker 4: Athalon X two and the guy who created the Athalon
- 20:45Speaker 4: X two actually did what is almost considered antiquated now.
- 20:49Speaker 4: He hand laid the architecture for that chip. He didn't
- 20:53Speaker 4: have a computer build it anything like that. He hand
- 20:55Speaker 4: laid it.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Wow.
- 20:56Speaker 4: And the the Rizon chip set, which is really turned
- 21:00Speaker 4: AMD around. They basically called him and they were like, hey, buddy,
- 21:05Speaker 4: it's been a while, asn't it. Can you please come back.
- 21:07Speaker 4: We're really struggling. And he handlaid the original Rizing chips,
- 21:13Speaker 4: which they've taken off. They're great, they're great bang for
- 21:17Speaker 4: your buck, their big machine. They're beefy things, especially like
- 21:21Speaker 4: the thread ripper is just a monster. But when the
- 21:25Speaker 4: and this is one of the things that turned me
- 21:26Speaker 4: off to Intel was when the Athlon x two was
- 21:29Speaker 4: really taking off, Intel called all the manufacturers they called Dell.
- 21:34Speaker 4: HP Compact was still around. E Machines was still around.
- 21:38Speaker 4: They called them and they were like, hey, so AMD
- 21:41Speaker 4: is starting to kick our butts. So they did kind
- 21:45Speaker 4: of like a quiet back room deal. They were like,
- 21:47Speaker 4: if you do our chip set instead of AMD for
- 21:51Speaker 4: your pre built systems, we're going to cut a pretty
- 21:55Speaker 4: penny off the cost of your your wholesale purchase. And
- 21:59Speaker 4: it ended up getting them and a lot of legal
- 22:02Speaker 4: trouble because basically they it was not like an it
- 22:06Speaker 4: was not an actual legal deal. It was you know,
- 22:09Speaker 4: back room wink wink, nudge, nudge. You know, hey buddy,
- 22:13Speaker 4: we're fine, right, And it got them into big trouble
- 22:15Speaker 4: with the US federal government. So to see that, you know,
- 22:19Speaker 4: their chips are eating themselves alive, Like I'm sitting here like, uh,
- 22:24Speaker 4: it couldn't happen to a nicer group of folk, Like
- 22:28Speaker 4: that's just hm, that's a shame. I view in terms
- 22:32Speaker 4: of like heech in the market, you either have the
- 22:35Speaker 4: superior product or you don't, right, and they haven't for
- 22:40Speaker 4: a while.
- 22:41Speaker 6: Well, I don't know.
- 22:42Speaker 1: I've built systems with the thirteen to nine and I
- 22:46Speaker 1: was waiting for a fix from Asus for the motherboard
- 22:49Speaker 1: that was in there.
- 22:49Speaker 3: That was going to supposedly be some.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Kind of a patch to deal with this, and I
- 22:54Speaker 1: haven't seen it yet. I was supposed to get emailed
- 22:57Speaker 1: once that was available, and that was a great machine.
- 23:01Speaker 3: I built my wife's with a twelve nine and it's
- 23:05Speaker 3: I love it.
- 23:06Speaker 1: It's super It's faster than mine, and I think it's
- 23:08Speaker 1: great because I've got the eleven.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Uh, they've made good processes.
- 23:12Speaker 1: But you know, I think it's kind of like, you
- 23:14Speaker 1: know how I've been an Apple guy for so long
- 23:17Speaker 1: on my my smartphone. Going to Android was a little scary.
- 23:22Speaker 1: It was, it's it's still been a little hesitant. I'm
- 23:26Speaker 1: still counting the days down till I can, you know,
- 23:29Speaker 1: return it or or I'm buying into it and I'm
- 23:32Speaker 1: keeping it going.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Full force it.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Every day I find another reason to keep it and
- 23:36Speaker 1: to keep going with the Android. I think the Intel
- 23:40Speaker 1: users going to AMD it's been the same thing. You're
- 23:43Speaker 1: a little a little timid about that. I've been using
- 23:45Speaker 1: Intel for so long, you know, why would I want
- 23:48Speaker 1: to try? But AMD has really been putting out a
- 23:50Speaker 1: great product. The Rise of nine amazing, you know, people
- 23:55Speaker 1: have said so many good things about it.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Kind of think that maybe.
- 23:58Speaker 1: People if they if they open up their eyes and
- 24:01Speaker 1: they give it a shot, they're gonna be happy with it.
- 24:03Speaker 4: So go with that. I have been living in a
- 24:09Speaker 4: new video game, Warhammer forty K Space Marine two. I
- 24:13Speaker 4: have been existing in this game, playing the story of
- 24:18Speaker 4: Lieutenant Dominus Titus, and that is my happy place right now.
- 24:22Speaker 4: This is one of the one of the games where
- 24:24Speaker 4: the AI aspect of the game is crucial because you're
- 24:29Speaker 4: fighting against an enemy that they're they're called terminids if
- 24:33Speaker 4: you've played if you played StarCraft, they're they're the zerg, right,
- 24:37Speaker 4: and it's a first person shooter. So you have this
- 24:39Speaker 4: massive swarm of bad guys coming at you. And I
- 24:42Speaker 4: was actually when I was at fan Expo, I got
- 24:45Speaker 4: to actually chat with one of the developers because they
- 24:47Speaker 4: were presenting the game there. He was like, yeah, so
- 24:50Speaker 4: the main swarm, when you see it like coming towards you,
- 24:54Speaker 4: the computer runs it as one AI element, and then
- 24:58Speaker 4: as it gets closer, it crosses this delineated line and
- 25:02Speaker 4: these individual units start popping out. But it's every individual
- 25:06Speaker 4: unit from that rendered swarm, and each unit has its
- 25:10Speaker 4: own AI instruction that's popped in it. So I'm playing
- 25:15Speaker 4: with my buddy, who's got he's got. I want to
- 25:17Speaker 4: say it's about a ten or eleven year old AMD processor,
- 25:22Speaker 4: and he was like, my GPU is like five years
- 25:24Speaker 4: old and it's fine. For the first time ever in
- 25:27Speaker 4: a video game, I am reaching a CPU bottleneck, oh,
- 25:31Speaker 4: because of the amount of logic required for this AI.
- 25:35Speaker 4: But case in point, what I'm trying to say here
- 25:37Speaker 4: is he is running a ten eleven year old AMD CPU.
- 25:43Speaker 4: It is still able to play this game. You can't
- 25:46Speaker 4: play it on maximum settings, but a ten eleven year
- 25:48Speaker 4: old CPU from AMD is still able to do that
- 25:51Speaker 4: level of AI logic and routing and control.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Wow, that is pretty amazing stuff. It really is.
- 25:59Speaker 1: All right, tell you why we got to take a
- 26:01Speaker 1: quick break in Warhammer. I understand Henry cavill Is plays
- 26:05Speaker 1: that and is it's like he is a big fan
- 26:08Speaker 1: of it.
- 26:08Speaker 4: We'll jump in that after the bar.
- 26:10Speaker 3: I'll touch on that.
- 26:11Speaker 5: I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean to Weird, I'm Matt Jones,
- 26:14Speaker 5: and I'm justin Lemme find us on the web.
- 26:16Speaker 4: But tech talk Radio dot com we'll be right back.
- 26:19Speaker 8: And now fact to tech Talk Radio.
- 26:22Speaker 4: So right before the break, Andy brought up Henry Cavill
- 26:26Speaker 4: and Warhammer forty K. When Henry Cavill was actually doing
- 26:31Speaker 4: an interview for The Witcher, one of the questions is
- 26:33Speaker 4: like what outside of the Witcher? What what's your nerd thing? Like,
- 26:38Speaker 4: what what is your thing? And without skipping a beat,
- 26:40Speaker 4: he just goes, oh, Warhammer forty K. And as soon
- 26:43Speaker 4: as he says that, the actor who played h Yas
- 26:46Speaker 4: here goes, oh, oh you play and he was like,
- 26:49Speaker 4: oh yeah, right now, I'm running. I think he was running.
- 26:53Speaker 4: It was either Terminids or like Ldar, but he's like,
- 26:55Speaker 4: oh yeah, I'm running this right now. And they were like, oh,
- 26:57Speaker 4: so you should, and we should, and people paid attention
- 27:01Speaker 4: to that because the one downfall, the reason Henry Cavill
- 27:05Speaker 4: actually quit The Witcher is because he knows the lore,
- 27:09Speaker 4: he knows the stories, he knows everything about it. He
- 27:12Speaker 4: is a NERD's nerd. There's a picture of like all
- 27:15Speaker 4: these big name actors like Robert Danny Junior, Chris Hemsworth.
- 27:21Speaker 4: Well all the Chris is like holding these babies, and
- 27:24Speaker 4: then there's Henry Cavill like cradling a thirty eighty ti
- 27:27Speaker 4: like it's his child, and he knows the lore so
- 27:31Speaker 4: much that he would get so upset with the writers
- 27:33Speaker 4: room being like, no, that's not more accurate. No, that's
- 27:35Speaker 4: not what GARYL would do that. Eventually he just quit
- 27:38Speaker 4: and Amazon came to him and they were like, hey.
- 27:41Speaker 3: So.
- 27:43Speaker 4: This friend of a friend told us that you know
- 27:45Speaker 4: Warhammer forty K and we were thinking of making a
- 27:47Speaker 4: Warhammer forty K TV show. Would you be interested? And
- 27:52Speaker 4: they are making it. It is in progress, they are
- 27:55Speaker 4: making the show, but Henry Cavill was like, I will
- 27:58Speaker 4: absolutely be involved if I'm the executive producer and I
- 28:01Speaker 4: have hiring and firing rights everywhere.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Wow.
- 28:05Speaker 4: So he has hiring and firing rights for the writer's room.
- 28:09Speaker 4: So if somebody's like, I think we should tell our
- 28:12Speaker 4: own unique story that doesn't have anything to do with
- 28:15Speaker 4: the lore, he is gonna punt that person out of
- 28:17Speaker 4: like an eight floor window and then go hire someone else.
- 28:21Speaker 4: So when you say like Henry Cavo is like big
- 28:22Speaker 4: into Warhammer forty K, he's still today posting on his Instagram,
- 28:26Speaker 4: like his stats, playing Space Marine two, like getting a star,
- 28:31Speaker 4: like playing the multiplayer component with everyone. It's it's wild
- 28:35Speaker 4: I hope to end up with a lobby with him
- 28:37Speaker 4: one day.
- 28:38Speaker 3: That is awesome.
- 28:39Speaker 6: Over the summer, my wife's cousin brought the tabletop version
- 28:43Speaker 6: of Warhammer forty k oh to our family gathering, all right,
- 28:48Speaker 6: So I spent three nights, three hour three separate nights,
- 28:54Speaker 6: three hour sessions doing the the Killed Team space ORCS
- 28:57Speaker 6: First Veterans. It was amazing. I'm gonna get the pictures
- 29:02Speaker 6: and I'm gonna send the men put on the blog.
- 29:03Speaker 6: But he has the whole setup, he's got the starter kit,
- 29:06Speaker 6: he paints his own minis. It was incredible. I almost
- 29:10Speaker 6: bought it when I went to gen Con this in
- 29:12Speaker 6: at the end of August, but I would have spent
- 29:15Speaker 6: way too much money, so I didn't. But there is
- 29:18Speaker 6: a tabletop version of Warhammer that is incredible, so I
- 29:22Speaker 6: will just leave it.
- 29:23Speaker 5: At that island Warhammer, the tabletop one where you have
- 29:25Speaker 5: to like paint all your miniatures, and you paint the miniatures.
- 29:29Speaker 6: And then it's it's a specific version called Kill Team,
- 29:32Speaker 6: which is different than like the campaign settings. This is
- 29:34Speaker 6: more like a skirmish where you just fight each other
- 29:37Speaker 6: for an objective. But yes, it is a tabletop version
- 29:39Speaker 6: where you have measurements, if you have a ruler and
- 29:41Speaker 6: you're doing it's it was incredible.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Now if I've never heard I've never played this before,
- 29:46Speaker 1: would I be able to get into it?
- 29:48Speaker 3: You think? Or is this seasoned gamers?
- 29:50Speaker 4: If I might jump on this one. So there are
- 29:54Speaker 4: now three different settings where you can play Warhammer forty K.
- 29:58Speaker 4: One Sean is talking about with kill teams. Traditionally, your
- 30:02Speaker 4: miniatures in the campaign setting, each miniature represents like a
- 30:06Speaker 4: squad of guys. In kill teams, think of it like
- 30:10Speaker 4: special ops. Each mini represents one character with specialized versions.
- 30:15Speaker 4: It is the easiest way to get into the game.
- 30:19Speaker 4: Then they with the new release that they dropped six
- 30:24Speaker 4: nine months ago. I think I'm guessing they dropped a
- 30:27Speaker 4: new thing called Combat Patrol, which is kind of in
- 30:30Speaker 4: between the two. And then you have traditional Warhammer forty K,
- 30:35Speaker 4: which is just massive armies, and the army is decided
- 30:38Speaker 4: by point value. So each unit that you have, like
- 30:42Speaker 4: a little guy is worth x amount of points, mech
- 30:45Speaker 4: is worth x amount of points. A thunder Hawk gunship
- 30:48Speaker 4: is worth a mass amount of points. It's amazing. It
- 30:51Speaker 4: is not an easy thing to jump into by yourself,
- 30:54Speaker 4: but if you go to pretty much any local game shop,
- 30:56Speaker 4: they'll have a Warhammer night and any Warhammer nerd except
- 31:02Speaker 4: for like you know, the Frankly, the basement dwellers. They're
- 31:07Speaker 4: they're gonna be there, willing to bring you in and
- 31:09Speaker 4: teach you. It's it is awesome, it is amazing. It
- 31:13Speaker 4: is complicated. But Sean, when you said Orc's Verse veterans,
- 31:17Speaker 4: do you do you know what army the veterans were?
- 31:20Speaker 6: By any chance, I don't remember, but they were. There
- 31:22Speaker 6: was a bunch of snipers and uh oh I just
- 31:27Speaker 6: I got I got to murder them with.
- 31:29Speaker 4: They were Tao. Oh, that's if it's a bunch of
- 31:32Speaker 4: snipers there, Tao, And that's disgusting. I'm so sorry your
- 31:36Speaker 4: intro was Tao.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Oh.
- 31:39Speaker 4: So for for Warhammer forty K, you've got all these
- 31:42Speaker 4: and I'm sorry. I I can nerd about nerd out
- 31:45Speaker 4: about this for the whole show. So I'll do this
- 31:46Speaker 4: and then I'll be quiet. But like you have three
- 31:49Speaker 4: different main actions like over arking factions. For Warhammer forty K,
- 31:55Speaker 4: you had the Imperium of man.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Uh.
- 31:58Speaker 4: You have the Zenos, which are aliens, and that's like
- 32:01Speaker 4: the Orcs, the Taou, the Eldar, the al Dari. Then
- 32:06Speaker 4: you have the forces of chaos which are corrupted in
- 32:09Speaker 4: perium of man Sean. Orcs are amazing. I'm so glad
- 32:13Speaker 4: you got to experience that, my wife.
- 32:15Speaker 6: It was, it was, it was. It was the Orc
- 32:17Speaker 6: commandos and the Veteran Guardsmen. So I played both sides.
- 32:22Speaker 6: I prefer the I prefer that I prefer the Orcs
- 32:24Speaker 6: because that's like my play style, Like Big and Beefy
- 32:28Speaker 6: get in there and just messed uf up. And their
- 32:31Speaker 6: names are hilarious, like yeah, slice a Boy and rocket Boy,
- 32:36Speaker 6: and I mean they're there. It's fantastic.
- 32:38Speaker 3: It was.
- 32:39Speaker 6: It was so fantastic.
- 32:41Speaker 4: Gonna bro. When you're talking about the Veteran Guardsman, that's
- 32:44Speaker 4: the Astra Militarum, which is these are regular old humans
- 32:50Speaker 4: equipped with like a laser, uh they call a las
- 32:54Speaker 4: gun and it will blow like a meter sized hole
- 32:58Speaker 4: in a wall with one shot. Like in today's military.
- 33:02Speaker 4: It would be the end all, be all weapon. It
- 33:05Speaker 4: is jokingly referred to in Warhammer forty k as the flashlight.
- 33:09Speaker 4: It is the weakest weapon out there. The Astra Militarum
- 33:12Speaker 4: subtle fights just based on cure overwhelming firepower and like
- 33:19Speaker 4: sundering amounts of artillery an astro miilitarum artillery brage will
- 33:24Speaker 4: crack the mantle of a planet.
- 33:28Speaker 3: All right.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Orcs are ridiculous because they make things work solely by
- 33:34Speaker 4: believing it. Like they're like, this will fly because we
- 33:38Speaker 4: think it should fly, and the world is just like, yeah, sure,
- 33:41Speaker 4: why not?
- 33:43Speaker 1: Okay, some great stuff there about Warhammer. Are gonna have
- 33:46Speaker 1: to definitely check that out. And one of the cool
- 33:48Speaker 1: things about it, you know, we can talk about a
- 33:50Speaker 1: little of everything, video games, consoles, TVs, the whole bit,
- 33:55Speaker 1: but when it gets down to it, we're dealing with
- 33:58Speaker 1: the same stuff that you may be dealing with. And Sean,
- 34:00Speaker 1: I know that you did something that you didn't think
- 34:03Speaker 1: you were going to be doing. You finally took a step.
- 34:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell us about that.
- 34:09Speaker 6: So we've talked about it. And I finally was getting
- 34:13Speaker 6: so frush from my computer. To start, I was losing
- 34:15Speaker 6: USB drivers, like I had issues last last week when
- 34:18Speaker 6: we were recording the show, and this morning I did.
- 34:21Speaker 6: I had the day off of work because I've been
- 34:22Speaker 6: working like crazy, and I just said, you know what,
- 34:27Speaker 6: it's time to wipe my machine. It's time to get
- 34:29Speaker 6: it back to bone bone drive to get it done.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Wow.
- 34:33Speaker 6: So I downloaded the Media Creation tool. I made a
- 34:39Speaker 6: USB for Windows eleven Pro because that's the version of
- 34:42Speaker 6: Windows I have is I have Windows ten Pro, which
- 34:44Speaker 6: those license copy over to Windows eleven. And then I
- 34:48Speaker 6: plugged it in. I booted from the USB drive and said,
- 34:52Speaker 6: this computer does not support what it's leven And I
- 34:56Speaker 6: was like, that doesn't make sense. It's not that old
- 34:58Speaker 6: of a motherboards. It's a rise in thirty seven hundred,
- 35:02Speaker 6: Like I should have enough, right, So then I did
- 35:05Speaker 6: some googling. So with with this motherboard, specifically, you can
- 35:11Speaker 6: boot into the older bios mode right, or you can
- 35:15Speaker 6: boot into the uef I mode right, So that had
- 35:18Speaker 6: to be enabled. Well, once that was enabled, I was like,
- 35:21Speaker 6: I'm ready, I'm golden right. No, still said not support it.
- 35:25Speaker 6: So then I had to go in and there I
- 35:27Speaker 6: had to go in and I had to Google. I
- 35:29Speaker 6: had to google. You guys know my Google food is
- 35:32Speaker 6: really good, right?
- 35:32Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 35:34Speaker 6: It took me a few hours to find the right
- 35:38Speaker 6: article to find the one the one buried setting and
- 35:42Speaker 6: I don't even remember what it is right now, I
- 35:43Speaker 6: have a screen shot up on my phone because I
- 35:44Speaker 6: was just searching for it and it was a weird
- 35:49Speaker 6: ft PM setting on this. On this I have an
- 35:52Speaker 6: asues Gigabyte Asus Elite Wi Fi motherboard.
- 35:56Speaker 3: I think it's PTT is it or something like that.
- 35:59Speaker 6: I don't know, but I found it and once I
- 36:01Speaker 6: turned that on, I had zero issues getting it in there.
- 36:05Speaker 6: Then I spent the majority of the day just getting
- 36:07Speaker 6: Windows eleven. Then you don't realize how many things you
- 36:12Speaker 6: actually have to reinstall when you go to a new
- 36:14Speaker 6: version of Oh my, it was like I wrote a
- 36:19Speaker 6: list of all the applications that I consistently used on
- 36:22Speaker 6: my computer before I wiped it, and then it was
- 36:24Speaker 6: like thirty things. So then I'm just going through the list. Okay,
- 36:28Speaker 6: I got Chrome, I got Firefox, I've got I just
- 36:31Speaker 6: went through this huge list and it's like, oh my god,
- 36:33Speaker 6: there's so many things that I had to do. And
- 36:34Speaker 6: then then things were Then I had to do USB
- 36:38Speaker 6: driver updates because I was having issues with my headset
- 36:41Speaker 6: not working, but the headset worked with the MIC wouldn't work,
- 36:44Speaker 6: and I was having weird issues with my A ten
- 36:46Speaker 6: Mini not being read by the USB. And then my
- 36:48Speaker 6: stream deck wouldn't work with USBs, and then I did
- 36:50Speaker 6: a Windows update and then it worked. So the summary
- 36:54Speaker 6: of my today is that it is not easy even
- 36:59Speaker 6: for somebody who is I feel like I'm pretty technologically savvy,
- 37:04Speaker 6: to just do have a basic Windows with eleven upgrade,
- 37:07Speaker 6: do a clean version of Windows. I feel like a
- 37:11Speaker 6: lot of people that don't have patients with technology would
- 37:14Speaker 6: have just given up and gone up by a new computer.
- 37:15Speaker 3: Right exactly. Oh my god.
- 37:18Speaker 4: There there's a great tool I've discovered over the years
- 37:21Speaker 4: if you're if you're doing something like this, or it's
- 37:23Speaker 4: like I got to reinstall Rome and Steam and Spotify
- 37:27Speaker 4: and discord that It's called nine Night and I N
- 37:32Speaker 4: I T E. And you can just go in and
- 37:35Speaker 4: like go down the checkbox of like I want all
- 37:38Speaker 4: of these things, and it pumps out a custom installer
- 37:41Speaker 4: and you run the ex and it goes through and
- 37:43Speaker 4: just like default values for everything. So you can't do
- 37:47Speaker 4: any customized installs. But if you're running like one hard
- 37:51Speaker 4: drive and just trying to get a machine up, it
- 37:53Speaker 4: will go and install all those things for you. It'll
- 37:55Speaker 4: do the download, do the install, and then at the
- 37:57Speaker 4: end it's like all right, I'm done. Now you get
- 38:01Speaker 4: to go spend forty five minutes signing into everything, have
- 38:03Speaker 4: a great day.
- 38:04Speaker 6: Well that was the other thing too. It's like I
- 38:06Speaker 6: had to remember, Okay, now I have to due authentic
- 38:08Speaker 6: and everything. I'm my Google email is getting pained every
- 38:10Speaker 6: two seconds because I have to do authenticate this app
- 38:13Speaker 6: on Google, this app on Google. Now my work VPN
- 38:16Speaker 6: needs to do a dual authenticate through Octa. Now my
- 38:19Speaker 6: one pass room. Now I have to go. Oh did
- 38:21Speaker 6: I save my want my PDF for my master password? Sure?
- 38:24Speaker 2: Did?
- 38:24Speaker 6: Thank god, because if I would have done that, I
- 38:27Speaker 6: wouldn't have been obt. He's one passing my computer anymore.
- 38:29Speaker 3: I'm having the same thing going through the.
- 38:33Speaker 1: New Pixel nine having to re installed basically it's like reinstalling,
- 38:38Speaker 1: having to go to the apps can figure everything. Okay,
- 38:39Speaker 1: that one works, that one works. That's been a pain
- 38:42Speaker 1: in the neck. So but you finally do that. You
- 38:44Speaker 1: had to do that as well, right, justin even you
- 38:46Speaker 1: were going from pixel to a pixel, you still have
- 38:48Speaker 1: to do it right.
- 38:50Speaker 5: Well, I mean, I mean it's obviously it's a backup.
- 38:52Speaker 5: I mean I just restore the backup, but I still
- 38:54Speaker 5: have to log into everything. And reauthenticate everything. So yeah,
- 38:58Speaker 5: that was the problem.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Yeah, but you got Windows eleven installed correctly, Sean, and
- 39:03Speaker 1: you're good to go.
- 39:03Speaker 6: Yeah, so it's I think it's great if it seems
- 39:06Speaker 6: to run really well. And again, I spent the after
- 39:09Speaker 6: I installed a lot of the apps. I spent the
- 39:10Speaker 6: majority of the day just customized things, getting where I
- 39:12Speaker 6: wanted to and googling how to get rid of all
- 39:15Speaker 6: of the ads that are on this Windows eleven right,
- 39:19Speaker 6: so getting it out of my start bar, getting it
- 39:21Speaker 6: out of my search window, getting it out of everything
- 39:24Speaker 6: on Windows eleven has ads in it now. But there
- 39:26Speaker 6: are ways to go in into the registry and make
- 39:28Speaker 6: some small changes so it doesn't serve you ads. You
- 39:31Speaker 6: can actually disable copilot, which I did immediately.
- 39:33Speaker 4: Where do you see the ads?
- 39:34Speaker 5: Because I'm being I run Windows eleven three different places
- 39:37Speaker 5: and I don't see any ads anywhere.
- 39:39Speaker 6: So I would click the Windows button and I would
- 39:41Speaker 6: get served like recommended apps that I don't have installed.
- 39:45Speaker 6: If you click the search bar, it would serve you
- 39:47Speaker 6: sports scores, weather, recent weather highlights like the whole sidebar thing.
- 39:54Speaker 4: Those aren't those aren't ads?
- 39:57Speaker 6: Okay, information that I don't care about. How about that's
- 40:01Speaker 6: all right if it's not ads, sure, it's it's information
- 40:04Speaker 6: that I don't care about. I don't want to see
- 40:06Speaker 6: it in my search pro when I'm trying to search
- 40:07Speaker 6: for a file on my desktop.
- 40:08Speaker 3: But it's wants to learn about you by what you
- 40:10Speaker 3: click on. That's what it's going to do.
- 40:13Speaker 6: It's also true, but I just want a clean operating system.
- 40:18Speaker 4: Then you're going to want to do Linux because you're
- 40:20Speaker 4: never going to get that with Windows.
- 40:21Speaker 6: I understand that. I'm just that's I can dream.
- 40:23Speaker 3: All right, We got to take another quick break. We
- 40:25Speaker 3: come back. Justin has a question.
- 40:27Speaker 1: He's going to tell us about a new website as well,
- 40:29Speaker 1: and we've got a couple of illiciter questions as well.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Hopefully we can get to I'm Andy Taylor.
- 40:33Speaker 5: I'm Sean de Weird, I'm Matt Jones, and I'm Justin.
- 40:36Speaker 5: Let me send us an X at tech talk Radio.
- 40:39Speaker 8: We'll be right back and now back to tech talk Radio.
- 40:43Speaker 5: So recently, you know, I told you guys, I I
- 40:46Speaker 5: DJ at a wedding by DJ at a festival, and
- 40:50Speaker 5: you know, kind of wanted to get back into doing
- 40:52Speaker 5: more of that kind of stuff.
- 40:52Speaker 3: You've been having fun with it.
- 40:53Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I've been having fun with it. But you know,
- 40:56Speaker 5: nobody really knows that I do this kind of stuff.
- 40:58Speaker 5: So I wanted to get some business cards that I
- 41:02Speaker 5: could hand out. But then as I'm designing the business cards,
- 41:04Speaker 5: I realize I don't have a website, I don't have
- 41:09Speaker 5: a professional email address, I don't have any of that
- 41:11Speaker 5: stuff because I just I don't know, I just.
- 41:14Speaker 4: I just never really thought about it.
- 41:16Speaker 5: But I'm not going to design a business card and
- 41:18Speaker 5: put you know, my personal Gmail address on it, you know,
- 41:21Speaker 5: and then nothing that people can be able to understand.
- 41:24Speaker 5: So so, yeah, I bought a website nice and I
- 41:29Speaker 5: put it in chat there. I used wish Wix to
- 41:34Speaker 5: design it. You know, the thing about Squarespace and and wis,
- 41:40Speaker 5: you know, they tout that it's, you know, super easy
- 41:44Speaker 5: to design a website. It's it's clicking drag and your
- 41:47Speaker 5: website's up running in minutes.
- 41:50Speaker 4: It's not true. It's not true.
- 41:53Speaker 5: There is so much that goes into building a website. Yeah,
- 41:57Speaker 5: granted I don't have to do any of the code,
- 42:00Speaker 5: but all of the every single page you've got to
- 42:04Speaker 5: you've got to talk about all the different elements that
- 42:06Speaker 5: you want to put in there. There's you know, click
- 42:09Speaker 5: click to learn more. Where does this learn more take you? Well,
- 42:11Speaker 5: you got to tell it where to take you. And
- 42:13Speaker 5: then you know, you got to do all the SEO.
- 42:15Speaker 5: You got to sign up for Google, you got to
- 42:17Speaker 5: get your page, all your meta tags.
- 42:19Speaker 3: Does it let you do jetpack? Jet pack? Have you
- 42:22Speaker 3: seen that yet?
- 42:23Speaker 4: I don't. I don't know.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Jet Pack is a really cool tool for for doing
- 42:27Speaker 1: a lot of that stuff.
- 42:29Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I've never heard of that. But I mean
- 42:31Speaker 5: to take take a look at my website. I put
- 42:33Speaker 5: it in the chat there, but I I designed it
- 42:37Speaker 5: real quick, put it up there. There's there's still a
- 42:40Speaker 5: ton of work to do on it because it's not
- 42:41Speaker 5: the way I like it. But at least now I
- 42:43Speaker 5: have a website. I bought it for three years. I
- 42:46Speaker 5: have the email, I have the domain, I have the website.
- 42:50Speaker 5: So yeah, this should, you know, hopefully help out a
- 42:52Speaker 5: little bit. But again I'm just my point being this
- 42:54Speaker 5: whole thing is, you know, all these create a website
- 42:57Speaker 5: in minutes.
- 42:59Speaker 4: No that's not true.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it does take a little more time than that,
- 43:04Speaker 1: you know, And honestly, justin there's been so many people that.
- 43:07Speaker 3: I know that have said, we don't need a website.
- 43:10Speaker 1: We're gonna do it on Facebook, We're gonna do it
- 43:12Speaker 1: on Instagram.
- 43:14Speaker 3: And those are great resources.
- 43:16Speaker 1: But I still believe the professionalism is extended when you
- 43:22Speaker 1: have social media, but you have a website that people
- 43:25Speaker 1: can look at and an email address that people can
- 43:28Speaker 1: look at. Now, the only thing I see, and this
- 43:30Speaker 1: is from somebody who's designed and bought domains and the
- 43:33Speaker 1: whole bit is your your I like your site. I
- 43:36Speaker 1: looked at it, but the name can be difficult in
- 43:40Speaker 1: translation only if you tell somebody, but if you're giving
- 43:43Speaker 1: it to them on a card or something like that,
- 43:46Speaker 1: they're gonna see one.
- 43:47Speaker 3: Means one, you know.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Yeah, So again that's that's that's a good idea. But no,
- 43:52Speaker 1: I do believe people still need to have websites, and
- 43:54Speaker 1: people have kind of wicks.
- 43:56Speaker 3: I don't know about wicks. I know Barry you Wis
- 44:00Speaker 3: for his website, which you know, I still I own.
- 44:03Speaker 3: I have the domain for that one.
- 44:06Speaker 1: The I honestly like WordPress and divvy uh divvy is
- 44:10Speaker 1: is pretty good. Again, you still need to learn and
- 44:13Speaker 1: know a certain amount of word press terms and whatnot, But.
- 44:18Speaker 3: Divvy is really great.
- 44:19Speaker 1: If somebody is looking you go to element I think
- 44:21Speaker 1: it's Elemental Themes or element Themes that you can find
- 44:25Speaker 1: out or just do a Google search for Divvy. They
- 44:28Speaker 1: have so many templates up there that if you're new
- 44:30Speaker 1: or you know you're looking for somebody you want to
- 44:32Speaker 1: tell a web developer, hey, build a site using this. Uh,
- 44:36Speaker 1: they can do it. And again it's not too bad.
- 44:39Speaker 1: But are you having fun with it? That's the main thing.
- 44:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I'm having fun looking at it, figuring
- 44:44Speaker 5: this out. I mean I've never really designed a website before. Well, no,
- 44:47Speaker 5: I should take that back. I mean it's yeah, it's
- 44:50Speaker 5: been like twenty some years. But this is interesting the
- 44:53Speaker 5: way they do make it a little bit easier to
- 44:55Speaker 5: get the basis of it, but you really do have
- 44:59Speaker 5: to dive in into the deep details of everything. And
- 45:02Speaker 5: so I find myself clicking through the pages and checking
- 45:06Speaker 5: every single word, checking every single link, making sure that
- 45:09Speaker 5: it actually goes to where I want it to go.
- 45:13Speaker 5: But again, it is about that professionalism to be able
- 45:16Speaker 5: to have that, because I think you know it. Actually
- 45:19Speaker 5: it doesn't really matter what industry you're in, but if
- 45:22Speaker 5: you're trying to promote yourself as a legitimate vendor of
- 45:25Speaker 5: a product or or a service. And you're just going
- 45:29Speaker 5: to give them a Gmail account as your email with
- 45:34Speaker 5: no website for them to go look at. It just screams,
- 45:37Speaker 5: you know, amateur to me. You know, So even just
- 45:41Speaker 5: to have something basic where it's just hey, here's my
- 45:44Speaker 5: website and my card, you know that I'm going to
- 45:46Speaker 5: give out. It's a very simple card. It's got my
- 45:48Speaker 5: logo on the back, it's got the website.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Especially if you.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Think about it, justin you're in a situation where, okay,
- 45:55Speaker 1: let's face it, somebody wants to book an event like
- 45:57Speaker 1: a wedding.
- 45:58Speaker 3: They're going to tie you up for a weekend. So
- 46:01Speaker 3: you're gonna want a deposit.
- 46:02Speaker 1: If you're gonna be leaving a deposit with somebody, you
- 46:05Speaker 1: want to make sure they're a legitimate company and they've
- 46:07Speaker 1: been doing things. One other thing I think would be
- 46:09Speaker 1: great on your website is some video. You know, maybe
- 46:12Speaker 1: have have a mesa come out when you're doing a
- 46:15Speaker 1: gig and just shoot some video.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Or if you have video friends that are.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Up there, I'm sure you do from the TV days,
- 46:21Speaker 1: have them come shoot the video of you working. There's
- 46:24Speaker 1: a guy in California that I used to work with
- 46:27Speaker 1: and sadly he passed away some months ago. Bob Stock,
- 46:30Speaker 1: it's great DJ. And it was funny because one of
- 46:33Speaker 1: the girls I worked with at the station here in
- 46:36Speaker 1: Tucson moved to San Diego when her daughter got married.
- 46:39Speaker 3: That's who they hired.
- 46:40Speaker 1: She said, Oh, yeah, I know this this guy who's
- 46:42Speaker 1: djaying said he knows you know you and Barry and
- 46:45Speaker 1: that whole bit, and it was like, so cool. But
- 46:48Speaker 1: Bob has put put a bunch of videos of him,
- 46:50Speaker 1: not even DJing, just him standing there in a suit
- 46:53Speaker 1: and the camera going around him, and you see that
- 46:56Speaker 1: personality because that's what they want hire so.
- 46:59Speaker 4: Great want to do.
- 47:00Speaker 5: That's another thing I want to do too, is I
- 47:02Speaker 5: want to be able to, like, I'm just think about
- 47:03Speaker 5: even just doing like an interview with myself where I
- 47:06Speaker 5: just I want to, like, I want to tell people
- 47:08Speaker 5: my side of the story when it comes to why
- 47:10Speaker 5: you should hire me to do your wedding or your
- 47:13Speaker 5: you know whatever event. Because DJs are dim a dozen, Yeah,
- 47:18Speaker 5: what makes me?
- 47:18Speaker 4: What makes me different?
- 47:19Speaker 3: What makes you stand out?
- 47:21Speaker 5: I want to be able to put that video on
- 47:22Speaker 5: my website and say this is why you should hire
- 47:25Speaker 5: me over blah blah blah.
- 47:27Speaker 3: All right, now you had another issue too.
- 47:29Speaker 1: This was actually a question about a problem you're running into,
- 47:32Speaker 1: or if somebody else was running into.
- 47:35Speaker 5: No, I mean I'm running into it honestly at work.
- 47:37Speaker 5: This is the third laptop. These are Dell laptops, relatively new.
- 47:43Speaker 5: I mean I think they're not like the most current gen.
- 47:46Speaker 5: They're not brand new from Dell. We do usually buy
- 47:49Speaker 5: these things from a refurbished website, but they're very legitimate.
- 47:53Speaker 5: They've done great work for us all the time, and
- 47:56Speaker 5: they're all running Windows eleven Pro. And the third laptop,
- 48:01Speaker 5: all of a sudden, just it's like Wi Fi doesn't
- 48:04Speaker 5: even exist on the laptop anymore.
- 48:07Speaker 4: Like it doesn't it doesn't exist.
- 48:08Speaker 5: Like you click on the network settings where it you know,
- 48:10Speaker 5: brings up Bluetooth and and you know, accessibility, night light,
- 48:14Speaker 5: all that stuff.
- 48:15Speaker 4: Wi Fi just not even there. Just nothing, like it's
- 48:18Speaker 4: not even there.
- 48:19Speaker 3: Have you gone into the bios to see if it's enabled.
- 48:22Speaker 5: Bios bios it's enabled, and and and you can see
- 48:25Speaker 5: it in the device manager. You can see why Wi
- 48:27Speaker 5: Fi You can even go into the network connections, which is,
- 48:30Speaker 5: you know, the old Windows network connections, which they make
- 48:34Speaker 5: it almost impossible to find on Windows eleven. But if
- 48:37Speaker 5: you get there, you can see Wi Fi disabled. When
- 48:41Speaker 5: you try to enable it, it just disables itself again.
- 48:44Speaker 5: And there's no reason. There's I don't understand anything. There's
- 48:47Speaker 5: no errors, there's nothing going on. Wi Fi used to
- 48:50Speaker 5: work on the computer. It's got to be a Windows
- 48:53Speaker 5: bug of some sort. I don't have We've googled it.
- 48:55Speaker 5: We can't find anything.
- 48:56Speaker 3: Has the laptop been opened recently for any reason, like,
- 49:00Speaker 3: you know.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Taking the back off of it to access a battery replacement?
- 49:04Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, no, Because the.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Wi Fi cards in these laptops, you know, sometimes they'll
- 49:11Speaker 1: put it at the top of the bezel.
- 49:13Speaker 3: Other times they'll put it, you know, on the bottom.
- 49:15Speaker 4: Of the antenna.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Usually it's yeah, it's two small little connectors and sometimes
- 49:19Speaker 1: those connectors can fall off.
- 49:21Speaker 7: Then.
- 49:21Speaker 4: But see the thing, no, it was. The thing is
- 49:24Speaker 4: it's listed in device manager.
- 49:26Speaker 3: It's there.
- 49:27Speaker 5: It shows it in device manager, okay, and it shows
- 49:30Speaker 5: it in the network connections, but it says it's disabled
- 49:32Speaker 5: and you try to re enable it, it just disables
- 49:35Speaker 5: itself again. Have you everything, we googled, it comes up
- 49:38Speaker 5: with nothing like It's just it's so weird.
- 49:40Speaker 3: Any any thoughts on this one, Sean or Matt, because
- 49:43Speaker 3: you know.
- 49:43Speaker 4: I mean if if it's in device Manager, the only
- 49:47Speaker 4: the only thought I could have is is kind of
- 49:50Speaker 4: where you were walking towards You'd be like, maybe the
- 49:53Speaker 4: card is in I got bumped or something and it's
- 49:56Speaker 4: not quite fully seated. It's seated just enough to be
- 50:00Speaker 4: seen on Device Manager. But no, that that is that
- 50:03Speaker 4: is absolutely bizarre. But there's three laptops that have done this.
- 50:09Speaker 6: So are these laptops. Do they have the the the
- 50:12Speaker 6: M two wireless like the M two wireless ship Cynema
- 50:14Speaker 6: that are replaceable.
- 50:16Speaker 4: That's a good question.
- 50:17Speaker 5: I don't know they're there. They make there their higher
- 50:21Speaker 5: end Dell laptops, the Precision line because the.
- 50:24Speaker 6: Newer laptops have have seen a trend in the newer
- 50:26Speaker 6: laptops going with the M two slot wireless cards instead
- 50:30Speaker 6: of like the PCI cards or the on board on
- 50:34Speaker 6: board just because they get better performance with Wi Fi
- 50:37Speaker 6: six and stuff like that too.
- 50:38Speaker 5: Oh that's an idea saying that something give me got
- 50:41Speaker 5: jostled loose on the motherboard.
- 50:43Speaker 3: Could be yeah, could be.
- 50:45Speaker 4: They've they've they started making the change. The original m
- 50:49Speaker 4: DOT two slot was just for storage SSD and then
- 50:54Speaker 4: eventually and VM storage, and then they were like, wait
- 50:57Speaker 4: a minute, the through put on these ports is ridict
- 51:00Speaker 4: Why don't we start using it for other things? Kind
- 51:03Speaker 4: of you know, the way USB happened way back in
- 51:05Speaker 4: the day. But that that truly is bizarre. And the
- 51:10Speaker 4: fact if it's one, okay, so somebody dropped it and
- 51:13Speaker 4: didn't say anything or something like that. But if it's
- 51:15Speaker 4: if it's three four laptops, that that's it feels. It
- 51:20Speaker 4: feels like a Windows issue. But and they're all Dell.
- 51:22Speaker 4: They're all Dell laptops.
- 51:24Speaker 3: You know. It's funny.
- 51:25Speaker 1: I opened up a tower system once and they had
- 51:27Speaker 1: M two They were used for their drives. They couldn't
- 51:30Speaker 1: find the screw so they couldn't tighten it down, so
- 51:34Speaker 1: it was it was in, but it was kind of
- 51:36Speaker 1: like you know, like like as ready to catapult.
- 51:40Speaker 6: So most we ran into this one we built. We
- 51:43Speaker 6: ran into this issue when we built my nephew's computer
- 51:46Speaker 6: and then one of my friend's computers. Drives. They most
- 51:49Speaker 6: motherboards don't come with an M two socket screw on
- 51:55Speaker 6: the motherboard, and most drives don't come with one, so
- 51:59Speaker 6: unless you have one lane round, you're kinda up the
- 52:03Speaker 6: creek when you put an M two drive in.
- 52:05Speaker 3: So the way I fixed cars, stay a part off
- 52:07Speaker 3: somewhere else. All right, Junkyard, we gotta take another quick break.
- 52:12Speaker 3: We come back.
- 52:13Speaker 1: We'll see if we can maybe future research that and
- 52:16Speaker 1: see what you come up with on that. But we'll
- 52:18Speaker 1: be back with more of tech Talk Radio.
- 52:20Speaker 5: I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean de Weird, I'm Matt Jones,
- 52:23Speaker 5: and I'm justin. Let me find us on Facebook, Facebook,
- 52:25Speaker 5: dot com, forward slash tech Talkers.
- 52:27Speaker 4: We'll be right.
- 52:27Speaker 8: Back and now back to tech talk Radio.
- 52:31Speaker 4: Hey, this is Harold Parano and you listen to the
- 52:33Speaker 4: geeks on the radio tech Talk Radio.
- 52:35Speaker 6: So in an earlier segment we talked about me putting
- 52:38Speaker 6: Windows eleven on my computer and reinstalling all the apps
- 52:41Speaker 6: and programs that I had, and thanks to Matt for
- 52:44Speaker 6: mentioning nine Night and I n Ite, I was able
- 52:49Speaker 6: to download and install Audacity, Dropbox, ever, Note, file Zilla, Gimp,
- 52:54Speaker 6: Google Drive, Handbrake, metmore bites, Note plus plus, Open Open Off.
- 53:00Speaker 6: It's real V and C Steam, VLC win AMP when
- 53:04Speaker 6: Sep is.
- 53:05Speaker 4: Seven, somebody's got a good Internet connection.
- 53:10Speaker 6: And I just hit download it, downloaded them all and
- 53:12Speaker 6: installed them all in a matter. I mean I did
- 53:14Speaker 6: it during the show. I did it between when when
- 53:16Speaker 6: I mentioned it in the show and now and installed
- 53:18Speaker 6: and I'm now configuring my melor bites. And it was awesome,
- 53:22Speaker 6: Like it just worked.
- 53:22Speaker 1: You know the question that listeners would ask us right now,
- 53:25Speaker 1: is it safe? Be honest, like that scene in Marathon Man,
- 53:28Speaker 1: is it safe?
- 53:30Speaker 3: It is safe?
- 53:31Speaker 8: I have.
- 53:31Speaker 4: I been using it in my IT career since like
- 53:34Speaker 4: the very start of my IT career back in well,
- 53:38Speaker 4: my enterprise Atteker in like twenty twelve, I started using it.
- 53:42Speaker 4: Where Sean is actually using the free personal version. You
- 53:46Speaker 4: can actually buy nine Night Enterprise and use that same
- 53:51Speaker 4: thing and the options to come with that. It's like, okay,
- 53:54Speaker 4: you can set it to a media that you hand around,
- 53:56Speaker 4: you can do network installs, you can look at all
- 53:59Speaker 4: the computers that are on it and manage updates everything
- 54:03Speaker 4: like that. Like it is the question of is it safe?
- 54:06Speaker 4: It is safe, and it's awesome. I've been using it
- 54:11Speaker 4: for fourteen years at this point.
- 54:13Speaker 6: Now they have very easy Yeah, yes, n Night dot com.
- 54:17Speaker 6: But it was very easy. I just went to it,
- 54:19Speaker 6: clicked to the programs I wanted, hit download. It gave
- 54:22Speaker 6: me a download file. I clicked on it and it
- 54:24Speaker 6: said installing. It just went through the list.
- 54:27Speaker 3: So it just bulks installs them and then it tells
- 54:29Speaker 3: you when you're done.
- 54:30Speaker 6: I mean it took it took a matter of less
- 54:33Speaker 6: than ten minutes.
- 54:33Speaker 4: It's awesome. And the big part of that is the
- 54:36Speaker 4: installer that it provides you is customized to the options
- 54:40Speaker 4: you chose on the site. So choosing those like fifteen
- 54:43Speaker 4: programs that Seawan listed off, they all come in that
- 54:45Speaker 4: custom downloader. If you chose thirteen of them, you get
- 54:49Speaker 4: the custom downloader.
- 54:50Speaker 3: It's great stuff. Man.
- 54:51Speaker 1: We still have a lot more to talk about for
- 54:53Speaker 1: this week, but we'll hold it for next week. If
- 54:55Speaker 1: you have a question or comment to us, drop us
- 54:57Speaker 1: an email. Tech guys at tech talk radio dot com
- 55:00Speaker 1: met a couple of people that called into the afternoon
- 55:03Speaker 1: radios this week and actually said, hey, I'm listening, so
- 55:05Speaker 1: thank you and tell your friends.
- 55:06Speaker 3: About the show as well. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean
