- 0:00Hello there. Most Christians spend at least an hour every day with Jesus.
- 0:06There is a peacefulness that comes from spending time in communion with God,
- 0:11praying, reading scripture, journaling, and chatting with God.
- 0:16Some Christians call it daily devotional, and others their holy hour.
- 0:22I hope this is your daily habit, especially because it is the best thing for you.
- 0:27As a child, I used to think that priests, pastors, nuns, monks, and others have it easy.
- 0:33They can spend time with God whenever they want, continuously in His presence.
- 0:37But I realize now that it is not true. The world has a way of sucking all of
- 0:42us into the here and now, tearing us away from God.
- 0:46The peace we find flooded with mundane activities, lost through the motions
- 0:52of living in a Satan-soaked world.
- 0:56This can be solved in one of two ways. First, we submit to the world robbing
- 1:01us of our peace, finding solace only in our devotional time.
- 1:05Two, we take God to work with us. I like option two.
- 1:10It is delightful to think an almighty parent can go with us on show and tell day.
- 1:16Sounds silly. But before you
- 1:18rule this out, see how you can protect the peace only Jesus can give us.
- 1:24Quote, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as this world gives do I give to you.
- 1:33Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. End quote.
- 1:39John chapter 14 verse 27. Here is my suggestion.
- 1:44Spend time with God before you do anything and ask Him to hang out with you throughout the day.
- 1:52Make your holy hour or daily devotional your first activity in the day.
- 1:56Quote, Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the firstfruits of all
- 2:02your increase. End quote.
- 2:05Proverbs chapter 3 verse 9 Firstfruits are not just what you make,
- 2:10it is your time and what you choose to do with it.
- 2:14God has given us time. It is a resource that we should dedicate to Him.
- 2:20At the end of your daily devotional, ask God to be with you every step of the
- 2:24way. Feel His presence. Talk to Him continuously.
- 2:28If something good happens, thank Him right then and there.
- 2:31Move around and work like Jesus is watching you and working with you.
- 2:36If something bad happens, plead to Him right away.
- 2:39Almighty will solve it. Here's a fact.
- 2:43The author of the universe wants to be with you, spend time with you.
- 2:48Stop shutting him out until the few moments that you give him in the day or in the week.
- 2:54Having him alongside every waking moment will help us be our best,
- 3:00bring out our best behavior, and help us navigate through hard situations with ease.
- 3:06On breaks, go on a walk with Jesus. And even before you know it,
- 3:10you will be singing the joy we share as we tarry there none other has ever known.
- 3:17From the hymn in the garden.
- 3:20Enjoy God's ever-loving presence today in everything you do. God bless you.
- 3:27Dear God, please stay with me all day and every day.
- 3:31I want to do everything with you under your watchful eyes and skillful hands.
- 3:36I am so blessed that you, the author of the universe, wants to be with me every waking moment.
- 3:43I also pray that you watch over me at night. May everything I say,
- 3:48think, do bring you glory.
- 3:51This I ask in Jesus' precious name. Amen.
