- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hawkerel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kaylee, and this is
- 0:19Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day for you to become
- 0:24Speaker 1: the Hawkgirl energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:28Speaker 1: Happy Wednesday, Welcome back to another episode. I am so
- 0:33Speaker 1: excited to go on a trip this weekend. Like I'm
- 0:35Speaker 1: so so excited, and Zach and I are going to Miami,
- 0:38Speaker 1: as I said in last week's episode, and I'm just
- 0:43Speaker 1: excited for the first trip of the summer. I think
- 0:46Speaker 1: that always hits different. We do also have a few
- 0:50Speaker 1: weekends coming up for some cottage weekends, some ball tournaments,
- 0:54Speaker 1: so my husband plays a lot of ball, and yeah,
- 0:57Speaker 1: he has like these fun tournaments that usually has and
- 1:01Speaker 1: I see a lot of the wives there and some
- 1:03Speaker 1: of them have kids, so it's just kind of like
- 1:05Speaker 1: a tradition that we always go to the tournament to
- 1:08Speaker 1: support the husbands. But all in all, I think summer's
- 1:11Speaker 1: officially here, it's started, and thinking of just all the
- 1:15Speaker 1: fun weekends to come ahead is just so exciting. And yeah,
- 1:20Speaker 1: so I'm excited to start off our first trip this weekend,
- 1:23Speaker 1: and I'm very happy that I get to spend it
- 1:25Speaker 1: with my husband.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I think that's a dream come true.
- 1:28Speaker 1: And yeah, I'm just excited for the fun content that
- 1:32Speaker 1: we're going to film as well. So definitely stay tuned
- 1:35Speaker 1: on TikTok and Instagram if you guys want to follow
- 1:36Speaker 1: me there. We're going to be posting a lot of
- 1:38Speaker 1: content from that trip along with YouTube. I'm going to
- 1:41Speaker 1: film a whole separate log of our Miami trip. I've
- 1:44Speaker 1: actually never have experienced Miami the way we're going to
- 1:48Speaker 1: experience it this time. The last time I went to Miami,
- 1:51Speaker 1: I was fifteen years old with my parents, so very
- 1:55Speaker 1: different vibe.
- 1:56Speaker 2: We didn't even stay in Miami, to be honest.
- 1:58Speaker 1: We stayed in like Palm Beach area, so an area
- 2:01Speaker 1: a bit further from Miami directly. I've only been to
- 2:04Speaker 1: South Beach once again, never really stayed on South Beach,
- 2:08Speaker 1: So I feel like I didn't really get the Miami
- 2:10Speaker 1: experience where I feel like this weekend, Zach and I
- 2:13Speaker 1: are like doing all the things that we've seen on
- 2:15Speaker 1: TikTok that people do in Miami, like a lot of
- 2:17Speaker 1: good restaurants, a lot of fun like pool spots, beach clubs,
- 2:22Speaker 1: all that.
- 2:22Speaker 2: We're staying at a really nice hotel.
- 2:24Speaker 1: So I think we're just doing it the right way
- 2:26Speaker 1: and the way I would want to do it if
- 2:28Speaker 1: I was going to Miami.
- 2:29Speaker 2: So I feel like.
- 2:29Speaker 1: It's going to be a very different experience this time
- 2:33Speaker 1: around versus what I went with my family. And there's
- 2:36Speaker 1: so many good spots in Miami, especially when it comes
- 2:38Speaker 1: to like the wellness girls. I personally feel like Miami
- 2:41Speaker 1: is the perfect combination of wellness and party life. So
- 2:45Speaker 1: if I were to have my bacheorette again, I probably
- 2:48Speaker 1: would have done it at Miami, Like that would have
- 2:49Speaker 1: been my first choice. But obviously, because we did a
- 2:52Speaker 1: destination wedding, we wanted to tie it into our Italy trip.
- 2:55Speaker 1: But if I were getting married like here at home,
- 2:58Speaker 1: and I wanted to do like a Destiny bacherette party,
- 3:01Speaker 1: I would do Miami because I personally find there's so
- 3:04Speaker 1: many good workout studios. There's so many cute like little
- 3:07Speaker 1: like health and wellness like cafes for.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Like smoothies and smoothie.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Bulls and all that, and then you still get that
- 3:14Speaker 1: like fun night life if you want to like go
- 3:16Speaker 1: to like a nice dinner or go to like night shows,
- 3:19Speaker 1: all that Miami has it. Then during the day, you
- 3:21Speaker 1: could like chill with a beach, you know, you don't
- 3:23Speaker 1: need to like drink constantly. You could just like chill
- 3:26Speaker 1: tan have a really relaxing day, and then have some
- 3:30Speaker 1: fun at nights. So in my perfect world, I think
- 3:33Speaker 1: Miami's like the perfect combination of that wellness girl lifestyle
- 3:37Speaker 1: on top of the party lifestyle. Of course, Zach and
- 3:40Speaker 1: I are not really going to be doing the party
- 3:42Speaker 1: lifestyle at all. I feel like Zach and I are
- 3:44Speaker 1: more of like the kind of people that just like
- 3:46Speaker 1: to go out for a nice dinner, you know, have
- 3:49Speaker 1: a few cocktails, maybe have a cocktail at like the
- 3:51Speaker 1: cocktail bar at the hotel, and then head to bed.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Like we are not that kind of people that will
- 3:56Speaker 1: stay up till two am drinking partying. Like that's just
- 3:59Speaker 1: not ay. I do hope to get a few workouts
- 4:01Speaker 1: in as well. I think it will most likely be
- 4:03Speaker 1: at the hotel gym, though I don't think I'll like
- 4:05Speaker 1: go book a studio or anything in Miami. But I
- 4:08Speaker 1: think the next time I go, I hope to go
- 4:10Speaker 1: with some girlfriends and actually do like Miami Pilate Studios
- 4:14Speaker 1: and all that.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I think that'd be so fun.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I definitely want to go to I think it's called Piravida,
- 4:19Speaker 1: which I think they're known for like their.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Smoothie bulls, their smoothies all that.
- 4:23Speaker 1: There's also a sun Life there, which you guys know,
- 4:26Speaker 1: I'm obsessed with sun Life.
- 4:27Speaker 2: They have one in La and I literally was so
- 4:30Speaker 2: happy when they had.
- 4:31Speaker 1: One there, and I want to like show Zach sun
- 4:33Speaker 1: Life because I always talk about how good it is,
- 4:35Speaker 1: so I'm excited for that.
- 4:37Speaker 2: I think there's a lot of good restaurants, like there's
- 4:39Speaker 2: a Carbone, There's no Boo all that.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Like so many good spots. So there's so much to
- 4:43Speaker 1: do in Miami. And I will make sure to share
- 4:45Speaker 1: our itinerary after our trip of all the places that
- 4:48Speaker 1: we go to, what I think is worth it, what
- 4:50Speaker 1: I don't. I'll obviously give a little bit of a
- 4:52Speaker 1: trip recap as well when I get back from the trip.
- 4:55Speaker 2: All that.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Right now, I have majority of my packing done. I
- 4:58Speaker 1: ordered a few minute things yesterday in terms of accessories
- 5:02Speaker 1: and all that. So if you saw my Instagram post,
- 5:05Speaker 1: I just posted like a Pinterests mood board because I
- 5:08Speaker 1: always love to go on Pinterest, as you guys know,
- 5:11Speaker 1: planning out my summer trips, planning out my season. So
- 5:15Speaker 1: of course I have a summer mood board started for
- 5:18Speaker 1: what I hope to achieve this summer, just like things
- 5:21Speaker 1: that I want to put on my bucket list, or
- 5:24Speaker 1: just again summer trips that I'm going on, like how
- 5:26Speaker 1: I want to envision that trip for myself, take some photos,
- 5:31Speaker 1: take some content, like I really just like to use
- 5:33Speaker 1: Pinterests as my way of a envisioning my life of course,
- 5:38Speaker 1: because we're always going to be romanticizing our life and
- 5:40Speaker 1: be also as a way to yeah, create content and
- 5:45Speaker 1: use it as some inspiration, which kind of ties into
- 5:48Speaker 1: today's episode. I really wanted to talk about my summer
- 5:51Speaker 1: bucket list, and this is something that I think everyone
- 5:53Speaker 1: should start making now because summer officially starts next week.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I believe it's June twenty first, correct me if I'm wrong.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Pretty sure summer starts then, and there's just so much
- 6:03Speaker 1: that I'm sure everybody wants to do within these next
- 6:05Speaker 1: few months, and summer is very short. I find I
- 6:08Speaker 1: find it goes by so fast because we always try
- 6:11Speaker 1: and plan so much. But these little things here are
- 6:14Speaker 1: not really things that like you need to plan in advance.
- 6:17Speaker 1: These are just like little date nights and ideas that
- 6:19Speaker 1: you should do with either your husband or your partner
- 6:22Speaker 1: or like your girlfriends. Like just things that I think
- 6:25Speaker 1: we kind of forget about and they're so small, but
- 6:28Speaker 1: I personally finally make a huge difference when I look back,
- 6:31Speaker 1: you know, for my summer last year, I think about
- 6:33Speaker 1: these things like I'm like, oh, I'm really happy I
- 6:35Speaker 1: spent a Thursday night doing this, or you know, I'm
- 6:37Speaker 1: really happy we did a Friday night like this where
- 6:39Speaker 1: we were at home and we were able to do
- 6:41Speaker 1: this little thing that was on my bucket list because
- 6:44Speaker 1: it's just something that I remember, and it's little memories
- 6:47Speaker 1: that I think are just so memorable and yeah, something
- 6:51Speaker 1: that you just don't really think about. So I'm gonna
- 6:53Speaker 1: share with you guys some ideas if you guys are
- 6:54Speaker 1: looking for inspo for what to do this summer and
- 6:57Speaker 1: how you're going to have the best summer yeat. Okay,
- 7:00Speaker 1: the first thing that I always put on my bucket
- 7:03Speaker 1: list every single year is sunset at the beach with
- 7:06Speaker 1: pizza and wine. This is like one of my favorite
- 7:09Speaker 1: things to do. And again, weekends can get really busy,
- 7:12Speaker 1: So even going on like a Wednesday night or a
- 7:14Speaker 1: Thursday night, go buy a bottle of wine.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Order your favorite pizza, go to your favorite beach, bring.
- 7:19Speaker 1: A little towel. You can bring your dog if you want.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I usually go with Zach. We brought Freddy last time.
- 7:24Speaker 1: It was kind of a shit show, not gonna lie,
- 7:26Speaker 1: but we did enjoy having Freddy there and I think
- 7:28Speaker 1: he had the best time. But it was just like
- 7:31Speaker 1: so calming to think of, like the sun setting and
- 7:34Speaker 1: just like being there with my husband enjoying that like
- 7:36Speaker 1: very intimate moment of just him and I with our
- 7:39Speaker 1: wine and pizza. It's just like another date idea that's
- 7:41Speaker 1: a bit more affordable versus like going to a restaurant
- 7:43Speaker 1: and spending all this money on alcohol and food. Like
- 7:46Speaker 1: ordering pizza is always more affordable, and then obviously bringing
- 7:49Speaker 1: your own bottle of wine is going to be much
- 7:51Speaker 1: cheaper than buying a bottle of wine at a restaurant.
- 7:53Speaker 1: So all in all, it's just a bit more of
- 7:55Speaker 1: an affordable way of having a date night. And this
- 7:58Speaker 1: is something that I try and do, like once a month,
- 8:01Speaker 1: usually in the summer because we love it so much,
- 8:03Speaker 1: and even trying like different spots out could be a park,
- 8:07Speaker 1: could go to different beaches, And again it doesn't have
- 8:09Speaker 1: to be something to do on the weekend. You could
- 8:11Speaker 1: do it on a weeknight as well. I think a
- 8:12Speaker 1: key thing out of this as well is just like
- 8:14Speaker 1: making date nights a priority in your relationship is key.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Even like a friendship, it's really important to like make
- 8:19Speaker 1: the effort of setting up these little nights in I
- 8:23Speaker 1: think it's just important in a relationship or a friendship
- 8:25Speaker 1: to really just like make these nights a priority. And
- 8:28Speaker 1: it's just a fun thing to do in the summer.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Another date idea that I love to do is go
- 8:33Speaker 1: to a farmer's market. So every Saturday we try and
- 8:36Speaker 1: go to a farmer's market and go get a little
- 8:39Speaker 1: coffee and again kind of just like romanticize our Saturday
- 8:42Speaker 1: morning by doing that. And farmers' markets are just like
- 8:45Speaker 1: such a great way of like supporting local brands, you know,
- 8:48Speaker 1: trying out different brands that you may have never tried before.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Also just getting that fresh produce and all that.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I don't know, the whole experience is just super fun
- 8:57Speaker 1: and I just love doing that on my Saturdays.
- 8:59Speaker 2: I also love ice cream date nights.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Let's be honest, I think everyone's always craving a ice
- 9:04Speaker 1: cream or a sweet tree on a summer night. There's
- 9:06Speaker 1: something about the summer that I think everyone just gravitates towards,
- 9:10Speaker 1: like anything sweet after dinner. I feel like I'm a
- 9:12Speaker 1: victim to getting ice cream at least twice a week,
- 9:15Speaker 1: to be honest, maybe once a week from any ice
- 9:17Speaker 1: cream shop. To be honest, I'm not really picky on
- 9:19Speaker 1: where we go, but I love trying different spots out.
- 9:21Speaker 1: But for example, Zach and I went to go get
- 9:23Speaker 1: ice cream literally two nights ago, and it was so good.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Oh my god, it was our first sweet tree of
- 9:29Speaker 2: the season and it was like the best.
- 9:31Speaker 1: It was so so good getting it in a cone,
- 9:33Speaker 1: and again just spending that time with your partner or
- 9:36Speaker 1: your girlfriend catching up chatting. It's just like a fun
- 9:39Speaker 1: little night idea to do with your friend or your partner.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Another thing that you could do, and this could be
- 9:44Speaker 1: something more of like a night in in your backyard
- 9:47Speaker 1: is an outdoor movie night. So I actually ordered a
- 9:50Speaker 1: projector and like a white screen for my backyard because
- 9:55Speaker 1: as you guys know, we're building a deck. Zach finally
- 9:57Speaker 1: finished it this past weekend, so we're very excited about that.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I already ordered the furniture, so now we're just waiting
- 10:02Speaker 1: for the furniture to come in. I think it's going
- 10:04Speaker 1: to be in when we get back from Miami, which
- 10:07Speaker 1: is perfect, and honestly, I just can't wait to set
- 10:10Speaker 1: it all up the following weekend and actually have our
- 10:12Speaker 1: first barbecue, our first little session of just being outside
- 10:17Speaker 1: with the dining table and everything.
- 10:18Speaker 2: I think it's going to be oh so good.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Like there's nothing better than a backyard summer dinner, like
- 10:25Speaker 1: cooking like either burgers or steaks or kebabs and the barbecue,
- 10:30Speaker 1: you know, like setting up your dining table, eating outside,
- 10:33Speaker 1: sitting on your couch with a little fire pit. Like,
- 10:36Speaker 1: oh my god, Like that is heaven to me. Like that,
- 10:38Speaker 1: if I could have that every single night in the summer,
- 10:40Speaker 1: that would be like my perfect night ever.
- 10:43Speaker 2: So that's what we ordered.
- 10:44Speaker 1: We ordered couches, we ordered a fire pit, we ordered
- 10:46Speaker 1: a dining set, We ordered a barbecue.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Yes, it was very expensive.
- 10:50Speaker 1: If you're wondering, I did not realize how expensive backyard
- 10:53Speaker 1: furniture was, but I just keep telling myself that it's
- 10:56Speaker 1: going to be so worth it. Furniture is always worth
- 10:58Speaker 1: the investment. I just keep telling myself that it's going
- 11:00Speaker 1: to be things that you're going to have years upon years.
- 11:02Speaker 1: So anyways, it was worth the investment, and I'm really
- 11:05Speaker 1: excited to just have some date nights outside. But going
- 11:08Speaker 1: into the part about the outdoor movie, I thought it
- 11:11Speaker 1: was such a cute idea to get a projector and
- 11:13Speaker 1: put a white screen in your backyard. That way, you
- 11:16Speaker 1: could watch either a TV show or a movie outside
- 11:19Speaker 1: and enjoy the outdoor space while also being able to
- 11:23Speaker 1: watch your favorite TV show or a movie or anything
- 11:26Speaker 1: like that. So I'm hoping we get to use that
- 11:28Speaker 1: a lot in our backyard and just really enjoy the
- 11:32Speaker 1: dining set and couches and all that while also being
- 11:36Speaker 1: able to watch like our favorite shows outside. This is
- 11:38Speaker 1: on my summer bucket list because this is something that
- 11:40Speaker 1: I've been wanting to get into, and we're actually going
- 11:42Speaker 1: to be building this the following weekend after our trip
- 11:45Speaker 1: from Miami.
- 11:46Speaker 2: But we want to get into gardening.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I know I'm a little late to the game for
- 11:49Speaker 1: this because I feel like everyone usually starts in May,
- 11:52Speaker 1: and because our backyard has been obviously taking us some
- 11:55Speaker 1: time to do because the weekends have honestly just been
- 11:57Speaker 1: not good for weatherwise, and that's why it's taken Zack
- 11:59Speaker 1: so long to build the deck. But anyways, we do
- 12:02Speaker 1: want to build like a massive like gardening pot essentially,
- 12:06Speaker 1: like we're going to be building a wooden pot on
- 12:08Speaker 1: the deck that's raised that way we don't have any
- 12:11Speaker 1: issues like rabbits or squirrels getting into it.
- 12:13Speaker 2: But yeah, I just like would love like fresh.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Basil and tomatoes and cucumbers like all that just like
- 12:20Speaker 1: grown in the backyard. And it's really all going to
- 12:23Speaker 1: be dependent on if we can do it or not
- 12:25Speaker 1: this year. If we can't do it this year, then
- 12:26Speaker 1: we'll do it next year. I would love to garden,
- 12:29Speaker 1: to be honest. My parents have one, and I always
- 12:31Speaker 1: love just like grabbing whatever, like I think they have
- 12:35Speaker 1: kale as well in their backyard my parents, So I
- 12:37Speaker 1: always like love going in their backyard and just grabbing
- 12:40Speaker 1: literally anything fresh from their garden.
- 12:41Speaker 2: It's the best.
- 12:42Speaker 1: So eventually we will have our own garden. I don't
- 12:44Speaker 1: know if we'll be this year or next year. I'm
- 12:46Speaker 1: hoping we can do it this year, just to have
- 12:48Speaker 1: on the deck. But it's definitely something that I've been
- 12:50Speaker 1: wanting to get into. Another thing I want to do
- 12:52Speaker 1: for my summer bucket list is get back into hobbies.
- 12:55Speaker 1: So you know, I love pickleball. Zach and I haven't
- 12:58Speaker 1: had the chance to play yet, but I'm hoping we
- 13:00Speaker 1: can make like a night during the week, whether it's
- 13:02Speaker 1: like a Tuesday night or Wednesday night, and we can
- 13:05Speaker 1: like just go play for an hour at one of
- 13:07Speaker 1: the courts close by to our house.
- 13:09Speaker 2: There's also tennis and golfing.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Zach's a huge golfer, so you know, he usually likes
- 13:14Speaker 1: to go to the courses with the guys, but the
- 13:15Speaker 1: odd time, like we get to go together, it's really fun.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I also love to do this like with my dad
- 13:20Speaker 1: and my sister, will like make a whole day out
- 13:22Speaker 1: of it and I'll go golfing together. I do really
- 13:24Speaker 1: enjoy doing those summer hobbies in the summer. Another thing
- 13:28Speaker 1: that Zach and I have just recently gotten into we
- 13:31Speaker 1: had our first run session. Okay running, We're trying to run.
- 13:36Speaker 1: So proud of my husband because I am a runner.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I used to run track and I used to do
- 13:40Speaker 1: cross country and Zach has never done any of that.
- 13:43Speaker 1: So Zach is very much like a sprinter and that's it.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Like he does not do long distance running. But we're
- 13:48Speaker 1: trying to create like a running routine for himself. Like
- 13:53Speaker 1: his goal is to be able to run like five
- 13:55Speaker 1: to ten k. So we started off on Sunday with running.
- 14:00Speaker 1: It ran a five k essentially, but like we kind
- 14:02Speaker 1: of walked and runned like you know what I mean,
- 14:04Speaker 1: Like we walked for the first kilometer, then ran, then walked,
- 14:07Speaker 1: then ranley We kind of did that, and we honestly
- 14:09Speaker 1: actually did that for I think it was six kilometers.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Like we walked three k and probably ran three k
- 14:15Speaker 1: and he felt pretty good with that.
- 14:17Speaker 2: He also just.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Bought brand new running shoes, so he really wanted to
- 14:19Speaker 1: break them in. I'm gonna film the entire experience, don't
- 14:23Speaker 1: worry for TikTok, but for the first day, like I
- 14:25Speaker 1: just wanted him to kind of like break in the
- 14:27Speaker 1: shoes and kind of just like create a route for ourselves.
- 14:30Speaker 1: So yeah, but we're really trying to become runners together.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Bringing Freddy again. Getting outside, we went at like eight
- 14:38Speaker 1: o'clock on a Sunday morning. It was like still early,
- 14:41Speaker 1: the sun was still like at its like little sunrise moment,
- 14:45Speaker 1: and it wasn't too hot, which was nice.
- 14:46Speaker 2: We weren't like dying of heat.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And all in all, it was just like a very
- 14:50Speaker 1: enjoyable morning, Like we went on a run, we came home,
- 14:52Speaker 1: we made French toasts and had our coffees and had
- 14:55Speaker 1: like a chill morning and it was literally perfection. I'm like,
- 14:58Speaker 1: if this could be my Sunday every single mo that
- 15:01Speaker 1: would be the goal. So all in all, just find
- 15:03Speaker 1: hobbies that you want to do, either with your friends
- 15:05Speaker 1: or yourself or with your husband or partner, and try
- 15:09Speaker 1: and like find days during the week that you can
- 15:11Speaker 1: make it work. So for us, like Sunday mornings is
- 15:13Speaker 1: something that works for us, or like an evening after work,
- 15:16Speaker 1: if you guys can make it work to go to
- 15:18Speaker 1: like a pickleball court, or go play tennis, or go
- 15:20Speaker 1: do some golfing, even if it's just like going to
- 15:22Speaker 1: a driving range, it's something that you're you know, striving
- 15:26Speaker 1: to do for the summer and you're making the effort
- 15:29Speaker 1: of doing these hobbies with someone special. Another thing that
- 15:32Speaker 1: I always love is hitting up some patios, so hitting
- 15:35Speaker 1: up our favorite patios from some of our favorite restaurants.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I feel like I don't go out much during the winter,
- 15:41Speaker 1: so I like to really try and get out in
- 15:43Speaker 1: the summer because I find obviously getting out of the
- 15:46Speaker 1: house is always a good thing to do for your
- 15:49Speaker 1: mental health. And because I work from home, I'm just
- 15:51Speaker 1: always wanting to, yeah, get out of the house whenever
- 15:54Speaker 1: I can. So even like finding your favorite restaurants and
- 15:58Speaker 1: figuring out like there's some restaurants do like specials on
- 16:01Speaker 1: certain days. So for example, like we have a Moxie's
- 16:04Speaker 1: and every Wednesday they have like a wine Wednesday, where
- 16:07Speaker 1: I think wine's like half off or something like that.
- 16:09Speaker 1: So I used to do that all the time with
- 16:11Speaker 1: my girlfriends. We'd go to a patio, order a bunch
- 16:13Speaker 1: of wine, just kind of chill, catch up, chat all that.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Now what we're doing actually, this is something that I
- 16:19Speaker 1: never talked about. This is kind of like another hobby
- 16:21Speaker 1: that I've been doing with my girlfriends. Instead of doing
- 16:23Speaker 1: like patio nights on a weekly basis with my girlfriends,
- 16:26Speaker 1: we're actually doing a Hawk Girl walk club. So every
- 16:29Speaker 1: Friday morning, we all get together in a parking lot
- 16:32Speaker 1: and we actually walk five kilometers and we go to
- 16:34Speaker 1: a coffee shop, have a little coffee together on a Friday,
- 16:37Speaker 1: and then walk back and then everyone goes to work.
- 16:39Speaker 1: We're waking up and we're doing our walks at seven am,
- 16:43Speaker 1: so we meet at the parking lot by seven am.
- 16:45Speaker 1: We walk, and then everyone's back in their cars by
- 16:48Speaker 1: like eight thirty and they get to you know, go
- 16:50Speaker 1: to their work day. And you know, some most of
- 16:53Speaker 1: my girlfriends work from home, some work in the office,
- 16:55Speaker 1: but or some people work like me, were self employed.
- 16:58Speaker 1: So it's really nice because we get to see each
- 17:01Speaker 1: other on a weekly basis. We all get to get
- 17:02Speaker 1: some movement in, we get a little coffee, we get
- 17:05Speaker 1: to catch up. Like it's literally the perfect thing ever.
- 17:07Speaker 1: But it's just so funny to me how we evolved
- 17:10Speaker 1: from you know, wine night patio nights, from when we
- 17:13Speaker 1: were like twenty five, twenty four, and now we're all
- 17:16Speaker 1: like twenty nine thirty walking, some walking with strollers with
- 17:20Speaker 1: their babies, you know, walking with our dogs, just getting
- 17:24Speaker 1: a coffee all that. Like, it's just such a huge
- 17:27Speaker 1: difference in what we make our hobbies now or our
- 17:30Speaker 1: little weekly catchups. But It's honestly the best change in
- 17:34Speaker 1: my opinion. Like, I love being able to wake up
- 17:36Speaker 1: early and do those walks with my girlfriends and still
- 17:38Speaker 1: see them on a weekly basis, because as you get older,
- 17:41Speaker 1: I do think we all get busier and busier and
- 17:44Speaker 1: life is just busy in general. So still being able
- 17:46Speaker 1: to like dedicate a day where we can all walk
- 17:48Speaker 1: together and do that is super fun. So if you're
- 17:52Speaker 1: having a hard time seeing your girlfriends and even wanting
- 17:54Speaker 1: to do something on a weekly basis, try out the
- 17:57Speaker 1: hawkgirl walks.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Make a day where you guys can like.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Walk together in a trail, get a coffee right before
- 18:03Speaker 1: you start your work day. Or if you're the kind
- 18:05Speaker 1: of person as I said, that likes to do patio
- 18:07Speaker 1: nights and wants to like go hit up their favorite restaurants,
- 18:10Speaker 1: highly recommend doing that as well. Another thing I'd love
- 18:13Speaker 1: to do is hit up different wineries. I love going
- 18:16Speaker 1: to a winery. I think that's such a fun idea.
- 18:18Speaker 1: I probably go to a winery maybe like once or
- 18:21Speaker 1: twice in the summer. I don't go that often, but
- 18:23Speaker 1: we do have one pretty close to our place. It's
- 18:26Speaker 1: called Kin Vineyards. And what I love about it is
- 18:28Speaker 1: that they have like a nighttime session where you can
- 18:31Speaker 1: order dinner outside, order different flights of wine, and you
- 18:35Speaker 1: could like take pictures in the vineyard, you can bring
- 18:38Speaker 1: your dog all that, like, It's such a cute little spot.
- 18:41Speaker 2: So I really love to do that.
- 18:42Speaker 1: But I know there's other wineries that are a bit
- 18:45Speaker 1: more strict with their policies and usually only open during
- 18:47Speaker 1: the day. But I mean, of course we'd love to
- 18:50Speaker 1: go to a winery in Italy and go experience the
- 18:53Speaker 1: Tuscany winery like that would be the dream. Of course,
- 18:55Speaker 1: we'd love to do that in the summer. But if
- 18:57Speaker 1: there's something that's a bit more local for yourself, it's
- 18:59Speaker 1: always something fun to do in the summer. Another thing
- 19:02Speaker 1: that I want to continue doing this summer is getting
- 19:05Speaker 1: smoothies after workout classes with my girls. I'm just realizing
- 19:08Speaker 1: how many rituals I've made for the summer, and I
- 19:11Speaker 1: think that's why I've been also feeling so good lately
- 19:14Speaker 1: going into the season, because I feel like I've created
- 19:17Speaker 1: rituals for a lot of different days.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Throughout the week.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Like Okay, so Fridays, I meet up with my girls,
- 19:22Speaker 1: I go for a walk, Saturdays, I do a workout
- 19:25Speaker 1: class with my workout friends and we go get smoothies
- 19:27Speaker 1: after and we like chat for like an hour after
- 19:30Speaker 1: the class. Sundays, I'm doing runs with my husband. Like
- 19:33Speaker 1: I'm really like dedicating days to doing things to make
- 19:35Speaker 1: sure that I hit these things off my bucket list.
- 19:38Speaker 1: So I'm starting to realize as we talk about this
- 19:40Speaker 1: that if you're looking to really hit everything off your
- 19:42Speaker 1: bucket list, I think this is the way to do it,
- 19:44Speaker 1: is really dedicate days throughout your week to do things.
- 19:47Speaker 1: So maybe me and Zach make you know, our Thursday
- 19:49Speaker 1: nights the night where we you know, try different things out.
- 19:52Speaker 1: So you know, we go to the winery that night
- 19:54Speaker 1: and you know, we try out different wines and have
- 19:56Speaker 1: a little date night. And then maybe next Thursday we
- 19:58Speaker 1: go to the beach and we have like a sunset
- 20:01Speaker 1: day all that. So I feel like in order to
- 20:03Speaker 1: like knock these things down, it's good to kind of
- 20:05Speaker 1: have days where you know you're free and you can
- 20:07Speaker 1: really schedule, you know, nights to do these kind of things.
- 20:10Speaker 1: So if you have an open schedule where you're able
- 20:13Speaker 1: to do that, I think that's great. Even if it
- 20:15Speaker 1: is like at seven pm at night to do. So
- 20:18Speaker 1: I think having like structured days is really helpful. So
- 20:21Speaker 1: every Saturday, I've been going to a workout class with
- 20:23Speaker 1: my girlfriends.
- 20:23Speaker 2: We went smoothies.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Literally such a fun thing to do in the summer,
- 20:27Speaker 1: and yeah, we've been really enjoying it. Another thing that
- 20:30Speaker 1: I've been wanting to try, which literally sounds crazy even
- 20:33Speaker 1: saying this out loud, but I really want to go
- 20:35Speaker 1: horseback riding. I've never gone horseback riding. I think I
- 20:38Speaker 1: put this on my bucket lists last year. I'm not
- 20:39Speaker 1: gonna lie because of course, everybody wanted to live the
- 20:42Speaker 1: Miley Cyrus summer.
- 20:43Speaker 2: That's what was trending last summer. I remember it to
- 20:45Speaker 2: a tea.
- 20:45Speaker 1: So my sister and I actually found a place because
- 20:48Speaker 1: last year we thought we could ride them at this
- 20:50Speaker 1: place close by, but you can't. It's just like for shows.
- 20:55Speaker 1: So we're like, okay, well we're not riding like a
- 20:57Speaker 1: horse in this area. So we found this one place
- 21:00Speaker 1: that actually offers classes on how to ride a horse
- 21:05Speaker 1: and sessions and all that. So I think we're going
- 21:08Speaker 1: to do that on like a random Wednesday, Like literally,
- 21:11Speaker 1: we're just going to do it on a random Wednesday,
- 21:12Speaker 1: and I'll make sure to log the entire experience. But
- 21:15Speaker 1: I've never been on a horse before, so it is
- 21:18Speaker 1: a little terrifying in my opinion.
- 21:20Speaker 2: But I mean, we're all.
- 21:21Speaker 1: About doing things out of our comfort zone. Another thing
- 21:23Speaker 1: I'm very much looking forward to is just cottage weekends.
- 21:26Speaker 2: As I said, and.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Just like campfires, fireworks. We're actually going to a cottage
- 21:31Speaker 1: on Canada Day weekend. One of my girlfriends, she owns
- 21:34Speaker 1: a cottage, and it's just literally the most wholesome weekend ever,
- 21:38Speaker 1: like being with your big group of friends, having a campfire,
- 21:41Speaker 1: watching the fireworks, like kind of like your Fourth of
- 21:44Speaker 1: July if you're based in the States. We have Canadaday obviously,
- 21:46Speaker 1: which is on the first of July. So being able
- 21:49Speaker 1: to have a weekend like that is truly something that's
- 21:51Speaker 1: always so fun and something to always.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Look forward to.
- 21:54Speaker 1: But campfires in the summer, oh my god, they just
- 21:57Speaker 1: hit different. Like I love having a campfire in the summer,
- 22:00Speaker 1: And that kind of goes into this next one, which
- 22:01Speaker 1: is just like weekend getaways. So finding ways to go
- 22:04Speaker 1: on a road trip. Zach and I usually love to
- 22:06Speaker 1: go to Montreal for an example, which is like a
- 22:08Speaker 1: two hour drive from us, so I'm hoping we can
- 22:10Speaker 1: do a little Montreal trip soon. We're obviously going to
- 22:13Speaker 1: Miami this weekend, so that's kind of like a little
- 22:15Speaker 1: spontaneous weekend get away that we're doing. I hope to
- 22:18Speaker 1: go to Vancouver to visit Trend because I haven't seen
- 22:22Speaker 1: her in a while, and then even like maybe planning
- 22:25Speaker 1: a little Prince Edward County trip where there's like a
- 22:27Speaker 1: bunch of wineries, a lot of cute like dinner spots
- 22:30Speaker 1: all that. So definitely a lot of plans in the
- 22:33Speaker 1: works right now. I also would love to go to Europe.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Zach and I have been wanting to go to Europe
- 22:37Speaker 1: for August. We're trying to book that, honestly this month.
- 22:40Speaker 1: That's our goal. I know that's like super last minute
- 22:42Speaker 1: and everyone books their Europe trip so far in advance,
- 22:44Speaker 1: but sometimes Zach and I are last minute.
- 22:46Speaker 2: When it comes to those things, and yeah, that's just
- 22:50Speaker 2: kind of the way it is.
- 22:51Speaker 1: But we do want to do something for our anniversary
- 22:54Speaker 1: in August, which is coming so fast I cannot believe. Anyways,
- 22:57Speaker 1: I've been almost married for a year. Guys, how is
- 23:00Speaker 1: time flying by? Sofas I'm literally like in shock. But anyways,
- 23:03Speaker 1: a lot of weekend getaway trips that we want to
- 23:05Speaker 1: do or just like summer trips that we want to book.
- 23:07Speaker 1: And yeah, another thing I want to do is definitely
- 23:10Speaker 1: host more this summer. Now that we're going to have
- 23:12Speaker 1: our backyard done, I definitely want to host more backyard parties.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Would love to do theme parties, like even if it's
- 23:18Speaker 1: like an Italian night with a bunch of like different
- 23:21Speaker 1: kinds of pizzas and pastas, and maybe make a whole
- 23:23Speaker 1: theme of like a tomato theme of doing like a
- 23:26Speaker 1: red and white checkered tablecloth with I don't know, just
- 23:30Speaker 1: like all these different kinds of appetizers, maybe playing like
- 23:33Speaker 1: Italian music in the background like.
- 23:35Speaker 2: That to me would be the perfect backyard party.
- 23:37Speaker 1: So I definitely want to host as soon as our
- 23:39Speaker 1: deck is complete with all the furniture out and everything,
- 23:43Speaker 1: which is obviously going to be happening soon.
- 23:44Speaker 2: So very excited about that.
- 23:46Speaker 1: But I think hosting backyard parties is always a fun
- 23:49Speaker 1: little thing to do with your girlfriends or your couple friends.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Another thing I love to do is go to outdoor concerts.
- 23:55Speaker 1: We have a few festivals that happen here in Ottawa.
- 23:58Speaker 1: So there's definitely a few festivals that I definitely want
- 24:00Speaker 1: to go to. In a few concerts that are happening.
- 24:03Speaker 1: This is not an outdoor concert, but a concert that
- 24:05Speaker 1: I really want to go to that I want to
- 24:07Speaker 1: get like last minute tickets for. But Tate McCrae. We
- 24:10Speaker 1: love her, She is the moment. Would love to go
- 24:13Speaker 1: see her. She is so iconic, and yeah, she's coming
- 24:17Speaker 1: to Ottawa, so I'm like really wanting to get tickets
- 24:19Speaker 1: for that. And then I think there's a few country
- 24:21Speaker 1: artists and yeah, just coming to our blues vest, which
- 24:25Speaker 1: is what we have here, So I'm excited for that.
- 24:27Speaker 1: So if there's any festivals or outdoor concerts that are
- 24:30Speaker 1: happening this summer near you, you should definitely consider going
- 24:33Speaker 1: because it's always a fun night with friends and a
- 24:35Speaker 1: fun thing to do during the summer season.
- 24:37Speaker 2: The next one is reading more.
- 24:39Speaker 1: I definitely need to get back on my reading train.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Let's be honest. I kind of slacked after Mexico. I
- 24:46Speaker 1: did order a book for Miami, so I don't know
- 24:49Speaker 1: if I'll be able to finish in four days. I
- 24:50Speaker 1: might be able to if I'm really focused, but I'll
- 24:54Speaker 1: definitely be able to read half of it and then
- 24:56Speaker 1: hopefully read the rest of it maybe when I'm home,
- 24:57Speaker 1: standing in the backyard or something. But reading is definitely
- 25:01Speaker 1: on my to do list for the summer. I'd like
- 25:04Speaker 1: to read at least three books this summer. That might
- 25:06Speaker 1: be bold of me, but I think I could definitely
- 25:09Speaker 1: do it. Like when you're wanting to be outside, just
- 25:12Speaker 1: like tanning or relaxing, like there should be no excuse
- 25:14Speaker 1: of just like reading a book or honestly, I plan
- 25:16Speaker 1: on having my morning coffee in the backyard as soon
- 25:19Speaker 1: as the couches are out, so that could also be
- 25:21Speaker 1: a good opportunity of just like having my coffee and
- 25:24Speaker 1: reading my book for like fifteen minutes, like read what
- 25:27Speaker 1: two to three chapters. But it's better than not doing
- 25:31Speaker 1: any reading at all. So finding ways to like include
- 25:34Speaker 1: reading and to your routine is something that I'm working on,
- 25:36Speaker 1: but it's something that I definitely want to be doing
- 25:38Speaker 1: more of this summer. I think the last thing when
- 25:40Speaker 1: it comes to the summer bucket list of things that
- 25:43Speaker 1: I want to do is really just enjoying like the
- 25:45Speaker 1: pool days, the lake days, like really just trying to
- 25:48Speaker 1: capitalize on those little moments of enjoying the outdoor space,
- 25:53Speaker 1: going in pools, tanning, you know, chilling, relaxing, enjoy the
- 25:57Speaker 1: nice weather.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Like being outside constantly.
- 25:59Speaker 1: I think is my overall goal of enjoying the nice weather,
- 26:02Speaker 1: because we really only have summer for like three months
- 26:05Speaker 1: and that's it. And to be honest, we had a
- 26:07Speaker 1: really bad May, Like our weather was not good. Usually
- 26:10Speaker 1: I would say May is like usually the peak of
- 26:12Speaker 1: the start of summer, but the weather was just so
- 26:15Speaker 1: off that month that I feel like June has like
- 26:17Speaker 1: officially made it the start of our summer season.
- 26:20Speaker 2: And guys, like where what day is it? It's June
- 26:22Speaker 2: tenth already, Like.
- 26:24Speaker 1: How is already well June eleventh for when this episode's
- 26:26Speaker 1: gonna be up, But like we're already halfway through the month,
- 26:28Speaker 1: Like how are we already halfway through? So it just
- 26:31Speaker 1: goes by so fast. So I think it's important to
- 26:33Speaker 1: just like really understand that you only have like eight
- 26:37Speaker 1: to twelve weeks of summer, so try and do the
- 26:41Speaker 1: best you can in terms of whatever you want to do.
- 26:43Speaker 1: And it can just be like these little things. It
- 26:45Speaker 1: doesn't have to be you know, going on a European
- 26:47Speaker 1: trip all that. Like, yeah, of course everyone would love
- 26:49Speaker 1: to do that, but doing these little things are still
- 26:52Speaker 1: going to make your summer so memorable and so fun.
- 26:54Speaker 1: And it's just such an easy way of really like
- 26:57Speaker 1: finding days during the week to be able to do
- 26:59Speaker 1: these little things with your girlfriends or your husband, going
- 27:02Speaker 1: on date nights all that, and like it really does
- 27:04Speaker 1: make your summer more memorable when you're doing these little
- 27:07Speaker 1: things and you're making the effort and you're just being
- 27:10Speaker 1: spontaneous and saying yes to things and anyways, these are
- 27:14Speaker 1: the things that I'm trying to make a priority for
- 27:16Speaker 1: this summer for myself, and I know it's going to
- 27:18Speaker 1: make it a memorable one.
- 27:19Speaker 2: And I'm going to enjoy every little date night.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Every little weekly walk with my girlfriends, and just like
- 27:24Speaker 1: really making it a priority to get out more, enjoy
- 27:27Speaker 1: the nice weather and have fun little nights like this.
- 27:30Speaker 1: So if you haven't made a summer bucket list, this
- 27:32Speaker 1: is your sign to do so, because you're not going
- 27:35Speaker 1: to regret it, and you're going to want to be
- 27:36Speaker 1: able to get all this stuff done before the end
- 27:38Speaker 1: of the summer season. But I love you guys allso much.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Thank you guys for listening to today's episode. I'm actually
- 27:43Speaker 1: heading to my sister's graduation right now, which I'm so
- 27:46Speaker 1: excited for. She just completed her Masters and I think
- 27:49Speaker 1: we talked about that in one of the Sip and
- 27:51Speaker 1: Spill episodes that we did a few weeks back, so
- 27:53Speaker 1: I'm very proud of her and I'm excited to go
- 27:55Speaker 1: celebrate her today. So I'm kind of ending this episode
- 27:58Speaker 1: off in a fast way, but it's just because I
- 28:00Speaker 1: have to go get ready and be there for her
- 28:03Speaker 1: and go celebrate this big milestone for her. So anyways,
- 28:06Speaker 1: I love you guys all so much. Thank you guys
- 28:07Speaker 1: for listening to another episode. I hope you guys have
- 28:09Speaker 1: the most amazing week and I will see you guys
- 28:11Speaker 1: in next week's episode. Definitely make sure to follow me
- 28:14Speaker 1: on Instagram and TikTok. You can also follow at the
- 28:16Speaker 1: hawkrel Energy Instagram page, where we post weekly updates imposts

- 28:23Speaker 1: to see me in Miami doing some fun Miami content,
- 28:26Speaker 1: definitely make sure to follow me on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- 28:29Speaker 2: But I love you guys allso much.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Thank you, guys, for listening and I will see you
- 28:32Speaker 1: guys in next week's episode.
