- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, this is the Mark Simone Show on 710WOR. Well, hey,
- 0:10Speaker 1: it's Friday. That's the good news. It's Friday. The bad news,
- 0:12Speaker 1: it's going to be a rainy, messy weekend, but we
- 0:15Speaker 1: got a lot to get to today. We'll get to
- 0:17Speaker 1: President Xi of China, his visit to the White House.
- 0:20Speaker 1: A lot happened there. We'll get to the UN. This
- 0:23Speaker 1: should be the final day of total gridlock UN week.
- 0:26Speaker 1: They're all starting to leave over the weekend. We'll get
- 0:29Speaker 1: to Netanyahu's speech yesterday. We have all these TV channels
- 0:35Speaker 1: on here. We've got all these different TV screens. Now,
- 0:38Speaker 1: the left wing, the left wing, ooh, they hated that
- 0:40Speaker 1: Netanyahu speech. New York One, that little, little tiny New
- 0:44Speaker 1: York One is the most biased left-wing network. Look at
- 0:49Speaker 1: the headline they put in a button. Netanyahu fuels tensions
- 0:52Speaker 1: and creates backlash. And it was actually quite a heroic
- 0:57Speaker 1: speech from Netanyahu. New York One making him look like
- 1:00Speaker 1: some sort of villain. And then they immediately cut to
- 1:04Speaker 1: Mamdani saying that Netanyahu's lying speech, blatant lies, and he
- 1:10Speaker 1: tried to whitewash the genocide that Israel has committed. You
- 1:15Speaker 1: can get a lot of that crap from the real, real,
- 1:17Speaker 1: real left-wing television. It was quite a speech. It was
- 1:22Speaker 1: a powerful speech as Netanyahu got up to speak. Half
- 1:26Speaker 1: the UN General Assembly walked out. They got up and
- 1:29Speaker 1: walked out. Many different nations, their delegates walked out. Before
- 1:34Speaker 1: Netanyahu even spoke, as soon as he got to the podium,
- 1:37Speaker 1: they walked out. It's a very anti-Semitic place, that UN.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Very anti-Semitic. Always has been since its creation. And as
- 1:46Speaker 1: Netanyahu gets up, he must have expected some walkouts, but
- 1:50Speaker 1: it was half the room. And Netanyahu said, Mr. President.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Before I begin, just a quick announcement. If there are
- 2:02Speaker 2: any other moral cowards who haven't yet left this hall,
- 2:06Speaker 2: please do so now. Thank you very much.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Perfect. Absolutely perfect. And it was quite a speech. Very powerful.
- 2:17Speaker 1: And we'll play a lot of it throughout the show
- 2:20Speaker 1: this morning. And he stood up for Israel and... You know,
- 2:24Speaker 1: the problem is for the anti-Semitic haters, nothing's going to
- 2:28Speaker 1: persuade them on anything. But he did point out that
- 2:33Speaker 1: the genocide was against Israel. The worst Holocaust since the
- 2:38Speaker 1: Hitler-not-Holocaust took place on October 7th. Israel's response was as
- 2:44Speaker 1: careful and as cautious as could be.
- 2:46Speaker 2: To the protesters outside, to the hypocritical delegates who left
- 2:52Speaker 2: us all, I asked, where were you when the Iranian
- 2:58Speaker 2: tyrants butchered and maimed tens of thousands of unarmed Iranian civilians?
- 3:05Speaker 1: Yeah, he made a lot of great points. In Iran,
- 3:09Speaker 1: over the last six months, they have slaughtered in the
- 3:12Speaker 1: street 40,000 of their citizens just for protesting or whatever
- 3:16Speaker 1: reason opposing the government, just slaughtered them. And there were
- 3:20Speaker 1: some protesters, they just opened fire on them and shot
- 3:23Speaker 1: them all. Some survived and ended up in the hospital. Now,
- 3:26Speaker 1: this is an absolute fact. Iran's special Republican guard, whatever
- 3:31Speaker 1: the hell they call it, actually went into the hospitals
- 3:34Speaker 1: and shot those protesters in their hospital bed just to
- 3:37Speaker 1: make sure they were dead. And again, the Susan Sarandans,
- 3:41Speaker 1: the Mamdani's, where were they on this? Netanyahu has a
- 3:43Speaker 1: good point. Where were they on that? They still haven't
- 3:48Speaker 1: condemned it. But the yelling and screaming about Israel, which is,
- 3:53Speaker 1: of course, insane. But it's just fueled on total hatred.
- 3:57Speaker 1: He did go after Mamdani. Mr.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Mamdani, since you were elected mayor of this city, many
- 4:04Speaker 2: Jews no longer feel safe in New York.
- 4:08Speaker 1: They talk to me. They tell me.
- 4:11Speaker 2: This isn't the city we remember. It changed so quickly. Now,
- 4:15Speaker 2: it's no wonder. You praise criminals convicted of supporting Hamas.
- 4:21Speaker 2: You count as friends people like Hassan Piker, who said
- 4:25Speaker 2: America deserved 9-11.
- 4:28Speaker 1: America deserved 9-11. Some friends you have. Yeah, now did
- 4:33Speaker 1: you ever think you'd live to see a New York
- 4:35Speaker 1: City could have a mayor that was openly bigoted, openly racist,
- 4:39Speaker 1: openly anti-Semitic? Did you ever think you'd live to see that?
- 4:42Speaker 1: Where you would brag about his anti-Semitism? A mayor who
- 4:45Speaker 1: would actually engage in actual hate speech. Netanyahu even got
- 4:49Speaker 1: to his wife.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Your wife liked a post praising the October 7th massacre.
- 4:54Speaker 2: She liked another post saying Tel Aviv shouldn't exist. You
- 4:59Speaker 2: refuse to condemn any of that.
- 5:02Speaker 1: That's a strange world. You've got an actually bigoted, biased
- 5:09Speaker 1: mayor engaging in hate speech. His wife, crazier, well, as
- 5:13Speaker 1: crazy as he is, so. We'll play more of Netanyahu's speech.
- 5:16Speaker 1: It was quite a day. The protesting was out of control. Netanyahu,
- 5:20Speaker 1: he's gone now. He was staying at the Regency Hotel,
- 5:24Speaker 1: 61st and Park, all of Park Avenue for a couple
- 5:26Speaker 1: of blocks, filled with crazy lunatic protesters. As he came
- 5:31Speaker 1: to the UN, the protesters went there. Many of them
- 5:34Speaker 1: were arrested. Susan Sarandon among them. Why, if this were
- 5:38Speaker 1: a few weeks ago, her career was so bad, people
- 5:41Speaker 1: would say, Ah, Susan Sarandon, she can't even get arrested. Well,
- 5:44Speaker 1: it turns out she can. Also, some of those DSA
- 5:47Speaker 1: congressional candidates, what's his name? Darial Aziza Avaliva-Chevalier, also detained
- 5:55Speaker 1: by NYPD. They were arrested for blocking a roadway. Linda
- 5:59Speaker 1: Sarsour showed up wearing a red hijab, leading demonstrators. She
- 6:04Speaker 1: had all the left-wing crazies out there. Anyway, we'll get
- 6:07Speaker 1: back to that. The other thing that happened yesterday, of course,
- 6:10Speaker 1: was the meeting with China's President Xi Jinping. It was
- 6:15Speaker 1: all day. The President spent the entire day with him.
- 6:19Speaker 1: From morning to night, they had a big state dinner
- 6:22Speaker 1: last night. I'm looking at the guest list. It was
- 6:24Speaker 1: all the big tech leaders. It was a lot of
- 6:30Speaker 1: big CEOs, hedge fund guys. There was Steve Schwartzman. There
- 6:34Speaker 1: was Larry Fink. There were a lot of these guys there.
- 6:37Speaker 1: All the big tech leaders, even the older ones, Michael Dell.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Tim Cook, all the current tech leaders, the AI guys,
- 6:44Speaker 1: the media. Let's see who's on the guest list. Jesse Waters,
- 6:49Speaker 1: Laura Ingram, Brett Baer. The menu. Oh, all your favorites.
- 6:55Speaker 1: All your favorites. First course, yellow squash velouté with a
- 7:01Speaker 1: wild mushroom fricassee. Sounds great, doesn't it? I don't know
- 7:05Speaker 1: what the hell it is. Sounds terrible. Who the hell
- 7:07Speaker 1: wants to eat that? Oh, it's complimented by crispy pancetta
- 7:11Speaker 1: and topped with a drizzle of scallion oil. I'm sure
- 7:15Speaker 1: under the table, the president had a Big Mac and
- 7:19Speaker 1: some filet of fish and some French fries hidden under
- 7:22Speaker 1: the table. It was followed by crusted sea bass with
- 7:28Speaker 1: braised baby bok choy and roasted eggplant. I guarantee you,
- 7:34Speaker 1: Donald Trump now almost 80. He's been in a billion restaurants,
- 7:38Speaker 1: never once, ever said to the waiter, I'll have the
- 7:42Speaker 1: sesame-crusted sea bass. Oh, and bring me some braised baby
- 7:47Speaker 1: bok choy. He's never said that in his life. For dessert, okay,
- 7:53Speaker 1: so this sounds like the good part. Still don't know
- 7:55Speaker 1: what the hell it is. Vanilla cremeux with a sour
- 7:58Speaker 1: cherry confit atop a walnut frangipane. What the hell is that?
- 8:08Speaker 1: And served with the White House honey ice cream. Okay,
- 8:11Speaker 1: there's one thing you could eat there. It sounds horrible.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Elon Musk was also there sitting right at the table
- 8:17Speaker 1: with Xi Jinping. Now, you got to spend the whole
- 8:21Speaker 1: day with this guy. He had to go with him
- 8:23Speaker 1: to the Smithsonian. They had one meeting after another. Who
- 8:26Speaker 1: the hell, what the hell would you talk to this
- 8:28Speaker 1: guy about all day? Now, they did have talks, serious
- 8:31Speaker 1: talks for an hour here, hour there, bilateral meetings. And
- 8:35Speaker 1: usually you try to, if you're a president, the formula
- 8:39Speaker 1: is your staff and their staff, you arrange some sort
- 8:42Speaker 1: of what they call deliverables. So at the end of
- 8:45Speaker 1: the talks, you can come out and announce, we've got
- 8:47Speaker 1: this accomplished. This is what we got. It's called a deliverable,
- 8:51Speaker 1: and you're supposed to announce a few of those later.
- 8:53Speaker 1: President Trump, of course, doesn't play by the rules. Not
- 8:56Speaker 1: your typical president. Apparently wasn't worried about that, so they
- 8:59Speaker 1: didn't arrange any of that kind of stuff. And usually
- 9:01Speaker 1: they're meaningless anyway. You know, usually when they come out,
- 9:05Speaker 1: it was Bush or Obama or Clinton. They make the
- 9:08Speaker 1: big announcement. Well, we've accomplished. They've agreed to buy our soybeans.
- 9:13Speaker 1: And that's supposed to be the deliverable, the big, big accomplishment.
- 9:17Speaker 1: And if you're not a soybean farmer, who cares that
- 9:20Speaker 1: they're buying our soybeans? Or they announce we're going to
- 9:22Speaker 1: get two pandas from them, something like this. But it
- 9:26Speaker 1: went well. Now, the president toured Xi Jinping around the
- 9:32Speaker 1: White House, showing him everything. And then they had these ceremonies.
- 9:35Speaker 1: They had one where they looked out over the Rose
- 9:38Speaker 1: Garden and out in the Rose Garden there were a million,
- 9:40Speaker 1: dozens of these, like in the Revolutionary War uniforms, these
- 9:44Speaker 1: minute men playing the fife and drums, marching. I don't
- 9:47Speaker 1: know what the hell this is. This is Xi Jinping.
- 9:50Speaker 1: He doesn't know what the hell this is or what
- 9:51Speaker 1: he's looking at. But you got to do something with
- 9:54Speaker 1: this guy all day. uh then president uh trump toured
- 9:58Speaker 1: him around the white even took him to the ballroom
- 10:00Speaker 1: construction site to show him the ballroom he was building
- 10:03Speaker 1: he's getting a lot of flack for that online everybody
- 10:05Speaker 1: making fun of why is he taking him into a
- 10:07Speaker 1: construction zone well he's very this is what he does
- 10:11Speaker 1: he's a builder he's very proud of it hey you
- 10:13Speaker 1: know when you go to anybody's house especially they got
- 10:16Speaker 1: a new house or they're living in an incredible house
- 10:18Speaker 1: You go to their house. What's the first thing they do?
- 10:21Speaker 1: Come on, I'll give you a tour of the house.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Then they lead you around from room to room. And
- 10:26Speaker 1: you have to pretend you're interested in this. And this
- 10:28Speaker 1: is the living room. And then here's the wine. So
- 10:31Speaker 1: they show you all this stuff. And you got to
- 10:33Speaker 1: pretend you like this. You have to ooh and ah. Ooh, oh, ooh.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Then they tell you where this chair is from, where
- 10:39Speaker 1: they got this couch from, how they look at the
- 10:42Speaker 1: molding here. They show you all this crap. And you
- 10:44Speaker 1: got to pretend you're interested. So even presidents do that.
- 10:48Speaker 1: He even showed him the helipad. And then he got
- 10:54Speaker 1: a lot of flack for that. And it is probably
- 10:57Speaker 1: the nicest helipad ever built. It's a very special granite.
- 11:00Speaker 1: And he said, Xi Jinping loves granite. That's why he
- 11:04Speaker 1: showed it to me. He loves granite. I don't know
- 11:09Speaker 1: about that. Do we believe that? Are we buying that?
- 11:12Speaker 1: I never met anybody that said, I love granite. You know,
- 11:18Speaker 1: when people talk about, oh, I love pickleball. I'm a
- 11:20Speaker 1: big football. I love golf. I've never heard me say,
- 11:22Speaker 1: you know what I love? I love granite. I don't
- 11:24Speaker 1: know anybody that would ever say that. So, oh, the
- 11:27Speaker 1: one thing that got a lot of flack, you know,
- 11:30Speaker 1: when you come down that promenade, that walkway, the president
- 11:35Speaker 1: has portraits in gold frames of every president. So he's
- 11:40Speaker 1: leading Xi along, showing him every portrait. And then when
- 11:43Speaker 1: they get to the Biden one, Xi looks confused. It
- 11:46Speaker 1: It's not Biden. It's some mechanical. And Trump goes, this
- 11:49Speaker 1: is the auto pen. Remember him with the auto pen? Well,
- 11:54Speaker 1: every left-wing kook site went absolutely nuts. Mediaite, real left-wing site,
- 12:02Speaker 1: big headline, utterly disgusting. Trump mocks Biden in front of
- 12:07Speaker 1: China's Xi, sparking furious online backlash. Well, if you go online,
- 12:13Speaker 1: you can see video of this moment. Go watch the video.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I've watched it. I've slowed it down. I've watched it
- 12:19Speaker 1: carefully 20 times. When he shows it to she and
- 12:24Speaker 1: tells him what it is, you can see she burst
- 12:28Speaker 1: out laughing. Not only can you see him laughing, but
- 12:31Speaker 1: his head snaps back. He throws his head back with laughter.
- 12:34Speaker 1: He really got a kick out of it. So you
- 12:37Speaker 1: can't say it's disgusting if it got that big a
- 12:40Speaker 1: laugh out of she. You know, sometimes you're up there telling...
- 12:45Speaker 1: doing your little jokes. It happens to me all the time.
- 12:49Speaker 1: In front of a big audience in the big ballroom
- 12:51Speaker 1: and you make a few jokes in one of them,
- 12:52Speaker 1: somebody could say, oh, you went a little too far.
- 12:57Speaker 1: The audience is the judge. If the audience all roared
- 13:00Speaker 1: with laughter, if the joke landed well, the audience loved it,
- 13:03Speaker 1: that's all that matters. So you can try to pick
- 13:06Speaker 1: on Trump for this, but watch the video. She laughed
- 13:09Speaker 1: so hard his head goes back. He loved the joke.
- 13:12Speaker 1: So it landed. She loved it. You can't say it
- 13:16Speaker 1: wasn't right. Now, here's the problem. President Trump, that's yesterday,
- 13:21Speaker 1: all day, big state dinner. Today, I'm looking at the schedule.
- 13:26Speaker 1: It's Xi again, President Xi all day. First, they have
- 13:29Speaker 1: a morning tea at 10 o'clock. Then they visit the
- 13:33Speaker 1: National Archives. Then they have another meeting. Who the hell
- 13:36Speaker 1: wants to spend two days with this guy? You've seen
- 13:39Speaker 1: this President Xi. What would you talk to? You sit
- 13:43Speaker 1: in a room with him. You have to have tea
- 13:44Speaker 1: with the guy for an hour. What do you say
- 13:45Speaker 1: to the guy? Hey, how about those Yankees? Terrible about
- 13:49Speaker 1: that Aaron Judge. What do you talk to this guy about?
- 13:52Speaker 1: Melania looked beautiful. She's spending time with Mrs. Xi, Madam Ping.
- 13:59Speaker 1: And then they leave later today. Looks like I'm looking
- 14:03Speaker 1: at the schedule. Looks like the president does not leave Washington.
- 14:05Speaker 1: He's going to go to Kentucky or Tennessee. on Saturday,
- 14:10Speaker 1: but he's not coming to Bedminster. Mar-a-Lago is closed until
- 14:14Speaker 1: usually about Halloween. So he'll be in Washington and probably
- 14:18Speaker 1: go to his, he has a Trump golf course just
- 14:21Speaker 1: outside of DC in the suburbs. So when he stays,
- 14:24Speaker 1: he goes there and plays golf. So this UN week
- 14:28Speaker 1: stuff has been a disaster. I don't know what the
- 14:31Speaker 1: hell was going on last night. You could hear sirens everywhere.
- 14:35Speaker 1: It depends. Your motorcade size depends on how big a
- 14:38Speaker 1: world leader you are. If you're the president of some
- 14:42Speaker 1: dinky country, your motorcade is your SUV, and maybe you've
- 14:46Speaker 1: got a car in front of you and behind you.
- 14:47Speaker 1: It's a three-car motorcade. If you're Macron of France, you're
- 14:52Speaker 1: going to get like eight cars. If you're a high-risk security,
- 14:56Speaker 1: like Netanyahu, that was a lot of cars. It was
- 14:58Speaker 1: cars and ambulance. One of those cars with the guys
- 15:02Speaker 1: fully armed with the Uzis and the the big guns
- 15:05Speaker 1: and the stinger missile on the roof kind of thing.
- 15:07Speaker 1: And if you're the president, it's an unbelievable motorcade. It's
- 15:12Speaker 1: like 50, literally 50 motorcycles first. And then the cars,
- 15:20Speaker 1: it's like literally 20, 30 cars, SUVs, those presidential limousines,
- 15:25Speaker 1: three of them, ambulances, everything, you know, military type vehicles.
- 15:32Speaker 1: And then last night, and some of them, have police
- 15:34Speaker 1: escorts with the sirens going just to get them through.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I don't know what was going on last night, but 10,
- 15:39Speaker 1: you could hear the sirens all over Midtown. They start
- 15:42Speaker 1: leaving these world leaders today. Some of them stay for
- 15:45Speaker 1: a day or two through the weekend because they like
- 15:48Speaker 1: to go shopping. They like to go to our top
- 15:50Speaker 1: restaurants and go to Broadway shows and all that. Although
- 15:53Speaker 1: I talked to some of the owners of some of
- 15:55Speaker 1: our most famous, top crowded, hard to get reservation restaurants.
- 16:00Speaker 1: And they said, They can't stand this U.N. week because
- 16:04Speaker 1: it scares away all the regular customers. They cancel the
- 16:08Speaker 1: reservations because they don't want to fight this gridlock and
- 16:10Speaker 1: street closures. And they don't care about these U.N. delegates.
- 16:14Speaker 1: They don't need them. And first of all, they're never
- 16:15Speaker 1: coming back. And so by Monday, we should be pretty
- 16:19Speaker 1: much back to normal traffic wise. So we've got a
- 16:22Speaker 1: lot to get to today. Hey, we'll get to the
- 16:24Speaker 1: polls when they keep telling you, look how low President Trump,
- 16:28Speaker 1: look how low his approval rating is. They're misleading you,
- 16:32Speaker 1: as they always do, by leaving out stuff. We'll get
- 16:34Speaker 1: to that coming up. It's Mark Simone. Three hours every day.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Three hours now. Nine to noon here on 710WOR.
