- 0:16episode of the Christian we've podcast.
- 0:17Today's guest is a property entrepreneur, and mentor, and
- 0:21investor, and founder of property wealth education.
- 0:25Property, wealth. Sorry, I think that's the name
- 0:27of the company. Is that right property wealth.
- 0:28Yep. Well it's it's a combination of
- 0:31many other companies so property welfare state property of
- 0:33education and I'd say yeah, that's because I'm just looking
- 0:37over my notes because actually, yeah, so sorry, welcome to the
- 0:40show. Daniel, how you doing?
- 0:44I'm doing well, I'm doing was great too.
- 0:46Great to connect and great to finally get to meet you in
- 0:49person. Absolutely.
- 0:51Yeah. And for our listeners who might
- 0:53not be aware. So basically I was due to have
- 0:56done you on the show a couple of months ago or something and I
- 0:59think there was a miscommunication or something
- 1:01there and so I had all these notes written down from like
- 1:04ages ago and I'm sort of just going through and refreshing my
- 1:07memory and everything and I was looking at this and I was like
- 1:10hang on what's the name of the company but let's let's dive
- 1:13straight into that. That company.
- 1:15So, it's his property investment.
- 1:17Is that what you're dealing with?
- 1:19Yes. So I'm into property investment
- 1:21and investing as well. And also I educate and motivate
- 1:26individuals to you to get started.
- 1:28And I also help individuals as got money to kind of generate
- 1:33higher return on their Investments by investing into
- 1:36our business as well. So I'll do a couple of multiple
- 1:38things in the property industry, interesting year because it
- 1:41seems to be Yeah, the stating the obvious but it's a lot of
- 1:44different wings that you're sort of going for with here.
- 1:47So from what I understand about your career background, its kind
- 1:50of you built up initially, through working through sort of
- 1:53regular estate agents. And then you got to like
- 1:56obviously setting up your own thing.
- 1:57And now, as you say it's a revolving into more like I
- 2:00suppose consultancy. I guess is probably the best of
- 2:03the best way of putting it. Well actually you've got quite
- 2:07you got the opposite side so I had no sort of property
- 2:11experience. I had no sort of a background in
- 2:14letting agents at all a couple of years ago.
- 2:17I used, I had a successful quite a really successful business in
- 2:20Africa and Nigeria, I was originally born and raised in
- 2:24Nigeria. I relocated to the UK in search
- 2:27of a Greener. Pasture to make my life better
- 2:29that was in 2004 by 2012. It wasn't really happening for
- 2:33me the way I wanted it to happen.
- 2:36So, I sold the small sort of businesses that I had in the UK
- 2:39and relocated back to Nigeria in 2012.
- 2:42All right. State in Nigeria for 2012, built
- 2:44a really good business in the oil and gas sector by
- 2:47transporting petroleum products to the end user.
- 2:52And that really went well and Lively got better about the fact
- 2:55that I had my wife and my kids in the UK, right?
- 2:59I miss them really much and I wanted to always come back to
- 3:01you can once you know the business and I was quite built
- 3:04really well but that didn't that didn't happen in terms of me
- 3:08relocating because of the family of quite quickly.
- 3:10But what did happen was? I suffered a major Or setback, I
- 3:13lost some money manager and business over 150,000 pounds in
- 3:17a single month and my business really crumpled and I will catch
- 3:21it by back into the UK, and I have never been in a job 925
- 3:26before you do any sort of background like that and
- 3:30staying, okay. And I lost over 150,000 pounds,
- 3:33I said, and I've been located about to the UK because I've
- 3:36never had a job and never been in employment before I was on
- 3:39employable. So I started To look for.
- 3:43What are the options that I can? Obviously use now to sustain my
- 3:46personal economy to obviously, make sure the wife, the kids
- 3:49have been looked after and I jumped, I started, you know, by
- 3:53becoming a delivery driver from with your dough.
- 3:57And then I after that, I signed up with the Uber and I started,
- 4:02I became a taxi driver by freelancing with booba where I
- 4:05was driving over 100 hours a week.
- 4:07So let's back up a little bit because obviously we've got
- 4:09quite a lot of things that you sort of laid out there and I
- 4:13guess I want to kind of because I like to go in detail on these
- 4:15podcast. I like to kind of, really get
- 4:17too deep into the facts, into the nitty-gritty, with my guests
- 4:21and sort of just build up a profile.
- 4:23So basically, let's take it back to why you initially chose to
- 4:31come to the UK from Nigeria. Because now a lot of people will
- 4:36be like, okay, well, clearly you're just seeking greener
- 4:38pastures different opportunities.
- 4:39The UK is known as one of those countries that has a lot of
- 4:41opportunities, so there That kind of obvious angle to it, but
- 4:45you know, I've lived abroad as well other than other countries
- 4:47so I know how difficult it is. When you go to a country that's
- 4:51different from your Homeland, it's kind of, I don't know, I
- 4:54think it's an important experience and I think that in
- 4:58many ways, it teaches you to appreciate your own sort of, I
- 5:02suppose. What you've got in your, in your
- 5:06home country, you know mean, but there's there's naturally going
- 5:09to be the cut, the comparison elements.
- 5:11So talk us through like How you came to that decision of
- 5:17initially, moving to the UK, like, well, what was the main
- 5:19thing that sort of stood out and they do you think, do you know
- 5:21what I need to leave? Well, it's quite a very good
- 5:25question actually. And I really love the we've
- 5:28built it up, you know, that question.
- 5:30So I went to, I went to UNI in Nigeria.
- 5:35So I think towards the second year of my, you know, being in
- 5:38the university in Nigeria, the the Nigerian economy.
- 5:43It's it's a, it's quite a, very vast, massive economy with 300
- 5:49million people the Between the poor and the rich is actually
- 5:56different. The average Nigerian leaves less
- 5:58than a dollar a day, literally less than a pound a day average
- 6:02Nigerian leave on a dollar a day and this in Nigeria, you know,
- 6:09it's yes a lot of Nigerians go out there.
- 6:12Get vessel degrees certificates and be want to do more and be
- 6:16more. But, you know, because the
- 6:19government hasn't provided that facility that sort of Ian for
- 6:23anyone to really, really go out there to strive, you know, make
- 6:27it in Nigeria, it's not as easy, but they say, if you can make
- 6:31any Nigeria, can make it anywhere in the world.
- 6:34You know, towards the second year of me, graduating from
- 6:38University, I just wanted a better life.
- 6:41I really wanted to, to, to, to grow to not just be intimidated
- 6:47by my current Society. You know, not have any Assurance
- 6:50to live a better life, you know. In Nigeria night up till date.
- 6:56We have at least 60% of our roads are still very Outer Edge.
- 7:00Roads basically no towels on them you know.
- 7:03And we still we still currently up to today.
- 7:06We still suffer with electricity as you know in England you know
- 7:10blackout you don't have you don't have you don't have power
- 7:13cords. So we still have we still have
- 7:15that problem in Nigeria? So that just goes to tell you
- 7:18where I'm coming from. So I just wanted to be in a
- 7:22place where the He's wax, you know where by you know,
- 7:25corruption is not really much of a problem.
- 7:29Most government officials in Nigeria.
- 7:32I really, really well corrupted, you know, very corrupt, the
- 7:35police force, you know. Yeah, Rob as I was going to ask,
- 7:39like, how does it affect like your average person?
- 7:42Because obviously we've heard the stories, you know, in the
- 7:45news obviously about how corruption is so prevalent in
- 7:51the government of Nigeria and not.
- 7:53Nigeria, other countries in general, you know, even the UK
- 7:55government, there's corruption that.
- 7:57But like, in some countries, it's more prevalent than others.
- 8:00So like, but the reality is that like what happens at the top
- 8:03doesn't always necessarily affect that the common sort of
- 8:06everyday person. So like, how would that affect
- 8:09you? You mentioned the police.
- 8:10Just then. So, like, give me some examples
- 8:13of like, how that would affect your life and how it sort of
- 8:16make it difficult or whatever, you know, just like this, this
- 8:20is sometimes. This is what I laugh when I see,
- 8:23you know, No, sometimes when I see what happens in the west,
- 8:25and I see what happened back home in Africa.
- 8:27And I compare both, and I say, you know what, no, word of a
- 8:30lie, if I was in Nigeria, if a policeman was to beat me up in
- 8:33America, the Nigerian police would not do the same.
- 8:36Absolutely send. In fact that I jump police can
- 8:38actually because being hurt is gone if you are actually on the
- 8:42wrong without that case, even going to court and you being
- 8:44killed straight away by the police, and nothing is going to
- 8:47happen to the police officer. And that's the truth.
- 8:50You know, obviously in America where, for example, The police
- 8:53can kill someone or something happens.
- 8:55Then the case goes to court, he goes to trial.
- 8:57They try to understand what happens.
- 8:59It's almost impossible for that to happen in Nigeria.
- 9:02As of today, this is 2021, you know, and growing up back in
- 9:08Nigeria, where I was in university.
- 9:10Maybe if I've got 45 friends of in my car and we're driving to
- 9:13the nightclub, we are actually a prime suspect of a crime.
- 9:17The moment you have four people five people in your car and
- 9:19you're driving to a nightclub at a very deadly hour of the night
- 9:22you actually are Crime, suspect, you know, except you know,
- 9:26you're just fortunate. So, like literally growing up
- 9:29way back. I'm 41 years old.
- 9:31Now, I left University in 2004. So, I'm talking about the Ellie
- 9:35part of, you know, late part of 1999 2000. 2001, 2002, through
- 9:40two, three and four. So we have a lot of like, you
- 9:44are literally hanging out with your mates, you know, anything
- 9:46can literally happen to you because the government hasn't
- 9:48actually trained the police officers trained, you know, it's
- 9:53And, you know, on safety and so on and so forth.
- 9:56It doesn't happen. So I just wanted to reach the
- 10:00Escape. I just wanted to escape from
- 10:03that, you know, depending on what part you are in Nigeria,
- 10:07some parts are pretty secure more some part as our unsecure,
- 10:12where the super wealthy leave is secure.
- 10:14But you know, the federal capital city in Abuja, you know,
- 10:18it's super secure, some part of Legos where you have Banana
- 10:21Island. You have the VGC.
- 10:23And all these places in Nigeria the very secure, but where the
- 10:26average guy, the guy who works in Tesco, the guy who works in
- 10:29Salisbury equivalents in Nigeria, you know, lives their
- 10:34life every single day on risk. This is the thing that interests
- 10:37me about Africa, just in general, like, I know obviously
- 10:40Nigeria is within South Africa. That is, why isn't it's not
- 10:43Norfolk? So night Nigeria is literally,
- 10:46is in West Africa, where Erica, okay.
- 10:49Obviously, Nigeria is the biggest black nation on the
- 10:52planet, right? There is this interesting tidbit
- 10:54to me, because I always hear these stories about Africa,
- 10:56where, like, you know, the major cities are always generally, you
- 11:02know, I don't know, I say affluent, but, like, people are
- 11:05doing well. If you're living in the city,
- 11:07you're probably doing well. But then anywhere outside, as
- 11:10you say where most people live, it's like complete opposite.
- 11:14It's like night and day. Almost, absolutely.
- 11:16Absolutely. You know?
- 11:17And that's just, that's just how it is.
- 11:20You know, the difference, the poor, the the The difference
- 11:23between the wealthy and not enough in Africa.
- 11:26It's so it's it's so massive. I'll give it a very simple
- 11:30analysis, yet a wealthy Nigeria leaves on nothing.
- 11:34Less than a thousand pounds. A day, a really wealthy Nigerian
- 11:37will spend worst case scenario. Like, literally, it's a thousand
- 11:41pounds is nothing to spend. In a day whereby, you have the
- 11:45real real porn. Nigerian of really, really poor
- 11:48guy living less than a pound, literally less than 50 pound a
- 11:51day, regardless of the job. They have.
- 11:55You know, a minimum wage and minimum wage in Nigeria.
- 11:58It's it's literally less than literally let someone with a
- 12:02minimum wage salary in a month and I'd really chewed makes
- 12:04about less than 200 pounds. A month.
- 12:07Was it Nigeria? The experienced hyperinflation
- 12:11at one point start? Well I kind of miss consistently
- 12:15you know inflation you know. But this I've had certain
- 12:19countries around the world. Like for instance, Germany very
- 12:22famously after I believe The first world war experience that
- 12:27way. Like it got to the point where
- 12:28you know, like bread would be I don't know like a million
- 12:32deutschmarks or something, ridiculous like that.
- 12:33So you just couldn't afford anything.
- 12:35Basically like, have you ever had a situation like that?
- 12:37Like you said, okay you're always experiencing inflation
- 12:39but is it, does it ever get to a point where like you just can't
- 12:42afford that the common Des Essentials or whatever?
- 12:46Well, there are, there are individuals that couldn't afford
- 12:50the essentials, you know, they are individuals who needs an
- 12:53abject poverty. Right?
- 12:55Also the middle class who are doing okay, you know, but this
- 13:00is interesting so you've got like a sort of a class system of
- 13:02something subscription. Absolutely, absolutely.
- 13:05You've got really the lower class, your got the the the
- 13:09class before the middle class. Then you've got the middle
- 13:11class. Then you've got the rich.
- 13:13They go to the super-rich and you got the very super super
- 13:15rich, you know, it's up the bracket is just insane, you
- 13:20know? And the super, super super rich
- 13:23is literally Even no disrespect to England.
- 13:26The really super rich in Nigeria is richer than a country in
- 13:29rigid and even England as a country.
- 13:32Okay, that I'm time place like big.
- 13:34What's up? You like big oil deals and stuff
- 13:36like that and write stuff. We got even.
- 13:38Absolutely, you know, I, you know, absolutely the most
- 13:42expensive, the most richest, Nigerian a liquid unquote, a is
- 13:46one of the is one of the richest in the world he has reached to
- 13:49the, is Richard on the country? A car it was kind of blows my
- 13:54mind. How these people get away with
- 13:56it, like, just on a level because, obviously, and that's a
- 14:00big thing as well. I remember, there was a comedy
- 14:02sketch that I think it was Chris Rock, did years ago, when he was
- 14:05explaining the difference between being rich and being
- 14:08wealthy. And that's a perfect example of
- 14:11work is what a lot of people make this this error, they don't
- 14:14understand the difference. Like being rich is just having a
- 14:17lot of cash. Wealth is like owning land
- 14:20owning like Industries or having the How influence to lobby and
- 14:26kind of make major change in the world of some description.
- 14:30Which yeah, is, you know, that's that's only a select few in the
- 14:34world, like, probably less than 1,000 people in the world that
- 14:38actually control everything kind of crazy to think about, but,
- 14:43okay, so we painted sort of a picture of what what you were
- 14:46sort of having to contend with growing up in Nigeria.
- 14:48So what made you kind of think? Okay, the UK because you know,
- 14:53Africans very We travel all around the world.
- 14:56I mean, when I was living in Estonia, I met Nigerians.
- 14:58Like, there's a lot of Africans going to various different
- 15:01countries around the world, but absolutely, you know, the first
- 15:04thing I'm thinking is okay, well, why not America, why why
- 15:07England what sort of Joy Drew's England?
- 15:11Well, I think Landing myself in England was just something quite
- 15:14coincident. Okay, what was happened was
- 15:18during the last during that particular year, 2004.
- 15:22When I wanted to travel, I did try to To get an American visa.
- 15:26Fortunately, I was rejected either for the visa.
- 15:29Do you know why they give me a reason?
- 15:31Well, there wasn't any specific reason, so the specific reason,
- 15:34there, wasn't any specific reason of me rejected, a Visa
- 15:36was just all we don't think you're qualified for this
- 15:39particular point in time. Try again in six months you know
- 15:44and that would that's just not know what of a like to.
- 15:47I mean I think till today that's what you really Americans.
- 15:50Don't really tell you the reason why you've been rejected a Visa
- 15:52yeah I've had some shaded stories about Sometimes they're
- 15:55like that, that whole qualifications thing is
- 15:58nonsense. It's about unlike the UK, the
- 16:00UK, obviously, UK's, part of common word, is the head of come
- 16:04away. So, in the UK, do you care?
- 16:06Very is an explanation based country like why is that my lip?
- 16:11My son? My son is 13 years old.
- 16:13I can't just get my son to do something for me without me
- 16:16asking without him having to ask me the reason why I've asked you
- 16:21to do something. So the British, you know that's
- 16:24how they So, the UK, for example, would reject your visa
- 16:27and it will tell you. This is the reason why you
- 16:30didn't have enough money with, don't think the money you have
- 16:32will sustain you. And so it's so they just explain
- 16:34things to you some sort of think.
- 16:36I think it's they should I think they should legally have to as
- 16:38well because it's like how you're not supposed to know and
- 16:42like you know if it is a Prejudice thing, if it is based
- 16:44on because I think that's kind of what it is with America.
- 16:47It's like it because I've had friends who have been rejected
- 16:51and they were well qualified they had Everything.
- 16:55But I don't know, maybe they come from a particular cultural
- 16:57background or something. I'm not implying anything.
- 17:00But well, I kind of am, you know, it blows my especially for
- 17:05America because it's, you know, it's Multicultural Nation.
- 17:08Its yeah. Bill on that idea, isn't it?
- 17:10But yeah, no, it's good. Okay, that's good.
- 17:14At least in England. You get like an explanation.
- 17:16Okay. So you've been you've been sort
- 17:18of brought into the country. Now from what I understand based
- 17:22on my research, you Didn't speak English very well.
- 17:25When you first came to the country, talking about that.
- 17:29Well, I literally spoke the naturally broken English.
- 17:32Like one of I had people say this all the time, you know?
- 17:36So in terms of it's not like we obviously work British colony
- 17:41and we speak Queens in English. In Nigeria for the fin is are
- 17:46sometimes our pronunciation when you're from Nigeria
- 17:48pronunciation is completely opposite.
- 17:51You know, and sometimes I've had this conversation.
- 17:54Down with love, you know, English people and they say, oh,
- 17:58oh, you're trying to say, you know, maybe you're trying to say
- 18:01it, pronounces setting word and I pronouncing that way is that,
- 18:05although, okay, I get what you mean because of that sort of
- 18:08essence. So I had a very strong Nigerian
- 18:11typical Nigerian a sense because, you know, I we speak
- 18:15broken English. There's a way in every single
- 18:17night during speaks of broken English.
- 18:19So nice, it's just that patch to are.
- 18:22All right. So Jamaican speak patch or so.
- 18:25And ditch speaking English boy spatula.
- 18:27And when they communicate you've got to listen a little bit more
- 18:29careful in order for you to actually get what they're
- 18:31talking about. So my accent was pretty, you
- 18:35know, the same and you know I wasn't born to you know I wasn't
- 18:40trying to understand every single word on the Queen's
- 18:43Oxford dictionary of course. Yeah.
- 18:46And my I might my English was it's worth you know wasn't
- 18:49really great for me personally. That's just how I felt.
- 18:52I felt like my English wasn't really great.
- 18:54Eight. So even today, I still say in
- 18:56English is not my first language is English is not my first
- 18:58language, you know, it's not because I was looking for, I'm
- 19:00looking for comfort zone, but it's just because the fact is
- 19:03you want, I'm even right now for the listeners, they will
- 19:06probably still here. Some sort of African acid in my
- 19:10speaking. Yeah, so English wasn't really
- 19:12that great and which was a, was a big challenge.
- 19:15When I first came here with, you know, alongside with all the
- 19:18usuals of relocating to a completely new sort of culture,
- 19:22new background New Wealth, Can you of doing things?
- 19:26Yeah, it wasn't, it wasn't really easy.
- 19:28Couple of reasons why I asked one because I want to delve into
- 19:31your first initial jobs went to set up.
- 19:33You know what that was like for you.
- 19:34But also I got a flatmate right now who's from Portugal.
- 19:40Sorry, no, from Brazil and he doesn't speak any English like
- 19:44he he's learning a little bit, he's working really hard.
- 19:46I think he's been here about two and a half months now but we
- 19:49literally communicate through Google translate it's actually
- 19:51kind of funny and he's really He struggling, you know, he's
- 19:55working hard to provide a life here and for his family to come
- 19:58over and everything and it makes sense, you know, it's because of
- 20:01brexit and everything, he's trying to do that and I fully
- 20:04respect that and I'm just like I'm I'm stunned by it because
- 20:08and we've spoken about it through this broken messaging
- 20:11system that we've had that. It's very brave on his part to
- 20:14have done that and through him, I've kind of understood like At
- 20:21least in England, like, why it's so important to speak English
- 20:23here. And what I mean by that is like,
- 20:25you know, when I lived in Europe, when I lived abroad in
- 20:29Europe, most country is that they learn several languages
- 20:33from the get-go. So, you know, if you speak
- 20:35English, you can pretty much get buy-in in most places, but
- 20:38coming to England, if you don't speak English is tough because
- 20:42there are certain industries we were at the hotel industry and
- 20:45stuff where they might speak several languages.
- 20:47But generally speaking most people It's like English or
- 20:51nothing, so it's very tough coming to the UK in that
- 20:55scenario. I mean, if you really look at
- 20:58it, like if you, if you was to go to Nigeria, right?
- 21:02You know you couldn't find it really really that difficult
- 21:05because English is our first language in terms of
- 21:09communication, but not just like the mother tongue.
- 21:11Imagine in Nigeria, for example, we speak over 260, two
- 21:15languages. Oh wow.
- 21:17Okay, that's over 200 and you know, 22 languages in Nigeria,
- 21:22you know, if you was to relocate from Nigeria to Japan, you know,
- 21:25is that for the first language is Japanese, so I actually have
- 21:28a brother, one of my oldest brother's he lives in Japan for
- 21:3330 years plus, now he speaks and right, Nyong'o speaks and right.
- 21:38Japanese so amazing. Yes.
- 21:40And because he, his choice was to go and live in Japan.
- 21:43Yeah, and he had to learn their lifestyle, the culture, the
- 21:47language. So, When you do locate the UK,
- 21:53you know, being your first language, being African Japanese
- 21:56Chinese, whatever. The case might be, you have to
- 21:59learn the language. It takes time some people picky
- 22:02very quickly, especially kids, Kate speaking repeated, pick it
- 22:05up very quickly. But for adults, like me, I was
- 22:0720 plus when I came to the UK, he either.
- 22:11So at some point it's speaking English, but I'm not speaking to
- 22:14and I don't have the actual assets so that makes it sort of
- 22:18a big deal, you know? So We as of time, think it got
- 22:21better and got better and better.
- 22:23And to be honest over the last couple of years especially in
- 22:28the last four years, where I have actually become really the
- 22:32vast and really like I've got friends from all over the place.
- 22:35You know, unlike before the very first 12 years, I lived in this
- 22:38country 80% of people who I mingled with were African
- 22:43Nigerians, you got me and Cyril aliens.
- 22:46You know, because that was within my comfort zone.
- 22:48Yeah. That didn't really help me that
- 22:50much because we speak our local pidgin English, you know, but
- 22:55when I when I decided to break out of that Circle, my English
- 22:59actually got better because I'm communicating with you know
- 23:02different types of people. Now who speaks English very
- 23:05fluently so yeah, it was really challenging but we got there in
- 23:08the end. Absolutely.
- 23:10Yeah. I know.
- 23:12So when you, when you first kind of came in and you had to,
- 23:15because it's a very interesting story, you know, you obviously
- 23:17you have a business or businessman like you said, you
- 23:20hadn't really worked a nine-to-five before then, you
- 23:22know, and then now you've got to do that and you're going to do
- 23:25it in a foreign country and like everything's different and
- 23:28everything. So you mentioned that you worked
- 23:30very briefly for yodel and there's a taxi cab driver.
- 23:33So like talk us through that. What that was like in the early
- 23:36stages like how did you navigate that how was it for you?
- 23:40Well, Working for your do and working as Uber driver was two
- 23:44ways, you know, after losing money in 2015 and that.
- 23:49But when I first came into the country, you know, 2004, I
- 23:54couldn't really just have a job because you need papers, you
- 23:56need to have a resident status, you know, we call it papers
- 23:59anyway. So you need to have residential
- 24:01status in order for you to have a job, a real night of five, you
- 24:05know, and to kind of pay your business stuff like that.
- 24:07But because I was in the visiting Visa that time I
- 24:09couldn't work. So the only thing I Do is to
- 24:12kind of try and see if I could you buy and sell it because
- 24:14that's what we used to. So, during the very first two
- 24:17years. So, during the very first 12
- 24:19months of my going back to Nigeria, coming back to the UK,
- 24:22before I eventually had my resident permit in 2006.
- 24:27You know, it was not really easy because I didn't have I didn't
- 24:31have, that means to have a bank account.
- 24:33I didn't have a maid to do anything.
- 24:35So it was it was, it was difficult.
- 24:37So but the only kind of jobs, I could do you know, the only
- 24:41things I can. Really do for people was to kind
- 24:43of help people clean their houses and get paid cash.
- 24:46And yeah and it wasn't like a job.
- 24:48It was be like maybe a friend of a friend or I know it's okay.
- 24:52Come and help me clean my house. I'll give 50 pound anything to
- 24:54survive. I think that was after my second
- 24:57visit, then I met my wife. So I met my wife, then my met my
- 25:01wife. Dan in 2005.
- 25:03Obviously, this is not 2021, so my girlfriend then we started
- 25:07dating and after someone of dating, she kind of get to
- 25:10understand meenu. I was doing.
- 25:12I said, what were you actually here for?
- 25:14So I said, I really want to leave in this country, you know?
- 25:16And, and we just got stronger and stronger and she gave you,
- 25:20she gave me more reason to live in a country.
- 25:23So, I, you know, I remember traveling.
- 25:25Back in January, 2002, January, 2006 back to Nigeria, you know,
- 25:30to sell clothes and you know, whether our selling and then I
- 25:34took my mom, I met my mother had met my girlfriend.
- 25:36You know, I really love this girl, you know, Mom, I always
- 25:39wanted to live in the UK and when I got the opportunity to
- 25:41have Visitor Visa in order for me to travel two months, three
- 25:44months back, or month, or week or two, whatever the case might
- 25:47be, you know, and everything. Just had to make sense when I
- 25:51met my wife. So, I met my wife in October.
- 25:54I think I met my wife in October 2005, and then we got married
- 25:57about eight months later. And once we got married, and
- 26:02everything changed because, you know how to apply through her
- 26:06status because she's British, I became a British citizen through
- 26:08that and fast forward, very, very quickly.
- 26:11I If it really settled down 2008 had, we had our first child.
- 26:15You know, I started setting up my businesses and, you know,
- 26:19that's just kind of how I build momentum settled into the
- 26:22country, but trust me. It wasn't as easy as an
- 26:25exploding right now. It was really never never is
- 26:29never. It was really really
- 26:30challenging. It was very difficult, you know
- 26:32bought thank goodness. She believed in me, she helps me
- 26:35in every single way that I could to settle into the country.
- 26:39Once we decided to leave here and 2006 Ingram just became a
- 26:43home for me and true that struggles of trying to sell
- 26:47clothes trying to sell things here.
- 26:48And there I built a third. My very first business, which
- 26:53was in setting up internet cafes that went well, but so that
- 26:58business in too fast. So, how did that business work
- 27:00then? Like was it like a kind of a
- 27:01portable thing like took us for a little bit about that?
- 27:05Well, I set up internet cafe. So internet cab.
- 27:08If you remember back in them days, there was in Phones.
- 27:12Okay he's weird. I remember those places that you
- 27:15go in there and they didn't even serve coffee, I felt cheated.
- 27:21We had one of those we grew from one to two to three to four
- 27:28around South London hand. Yeah, so the money I used to set
- 27:32up that can from me buying clothes from Primark from Max
- 27:36and Spencer. My wife worked in marks and
- 27:38Spencer. So I will buy clothes jump out
- 27:41by Joe A boxer shorts sheds, ship it over back to Nigeria.
- 27:45It's a good idea, you know, so silly for our salad in a jar for
- 27:50premium price. And from there, I started
- 27:52selling cars. So, I will buy cars, I will buy
- 27:55cars from, from from auctions. I will break them into pieces.
- 27:59I will ship them back to Nigeria.
- 28:01I was just basically hustling, you know, I was hostile anything
- 28:04to survive, you know. So, I'll break those cards into
- 28:08spare parts sent back to Nigeria invested by 5000.
- 28:11Selling make about 32 thousand pound profit.
- 28:14Bring it back again, do the same and that allowed me to set up.
- 28:18My internet can't blow. It was just like when I'm
- 28:21actually going to have breakthroughs but I just go sick
- 28:23and tired of being sick and tired.
- 28:24I just told my wife, I said, listen in 2012, I've got to go
- 28:27back to Nigeria. I can't I can't keep living my
- 28:30life like this. I need to do something better.
- 28:33I need to look after you look after the kids, it was really
- 28:35stressful. So I she agreed with me.
- 28:39Sir. Like you had to kind of leave
- 28:41them. M here in the UK and you have to
- 28:43be. Wow!
- 28:45I I will have to go back. I said, you know what, because
- 28:48the goal in 2004 was to eat to search for greener, pasture that
- 28:52I'm here in England. Greener pasture dizzy knocking
- 28:55on the door to see, so we're having to go back in order to
- 28:59provide a better life for your family.
- 29:00Yeah. But it's yet.
- 29:03So it took us three how you got through that because I can't
- 29:05imagine your wife was not. You shouldn't I know you.
- 29:07Obviously, she understood, but like, that's a tough
- 29:10conversation to have. And then Make that work.
- 29:12How did you make that work? Well, as I said, you know, The
- 29:17dream of our England. Would, you know, coming to
- 29:21reclaim your life is going to change overnight.
- 29:25After 56 years realized are there is no life changing
- 29:29overnight here. Alright, the essence of all, you
- 29:33know, some sort of security issues and challenges that we
- 29:36have in Nigeria doesn't happen in England.
- 29:39I remember, you know, being bumped into as well buy some,
- 29:43you know, you know, being jumped by So group of boys in Peckham,
- 29:49you know, where you know, they stole my phone, you know, they
- 29:52stole my phone, my stomach. I was robbed, basically cleaning
- 29:54the streets of backhand in South London.
- 29:56So I'm like, I'm trying to run away from Nigeria.
- 29:59This things happened in Nigeria, I thought it didn't happen in
- 30:01England, so I just go sick and tired.
- 30:06In fact, I just went through those big moments of my life.
- 30:10Big big massive moment of roller coasters and I just felt, okay.
- 30:13I feel like you're was not, you know, Nigel Was not meant for
- 30:18me. And I thought England was better
- 30:21and I'm here now in England. Now, I've got wife, I've got two
- 30:25kids because my first son was born in 2008.
- 30:28My second was born in 2011. So I'm like, oh man, like I've
- 30:33got big responsibilities now, like I cannot be in a place
- 30:36where it's about a business in Africa, when you have a
- 30:40business, it's meant to make you wealthy, all right?
- 30:43You don't start a business to be a business owner that You feel
- 30:48like you're going to just be at both the average, you start a
- 30:51business, have it in mindset of being very wealthy and that was
- 30:55my mindset, my mindset is to start a business and be super,
- 30:58super wealthy. But right now, I'm selling cars,
- 31:01I'm selling clothes, it's not happening set up internet cafe,
- 31:03still not happening. I'm like, you know what?
- 31:06Let me see what's happening. And let me go back to Nature
- 31:08especially because I've not lived in England for some time a
- 31:11few friends and family that I say, you know, why don't you
- 31:14come in and, you know, set up something, you know, the
- 31:16experience of What you've learned in the last couple of
- 31:18years in the UK, why don't you bring it back to Nigeria?
- 31:21Maybe life could be like a chain, that's all right.
- 31:22Why don't I give it a try? Sad, the mrs.
- 31:25Down, spoke to I said this is what the situation are.
- 31:28Obviously, you know me, I'm somebody that I, you know, I
- 31:32don't get comfortable regardless of how comfortable I am.
- 31:34Just somebody that don't get comfortable, you know, that's
- 31:37what wealthy people do. You've just got to find eager to
- 31:41keep pushing yourself. If you even if you reach a bit
- 31:44richer setting, go set a big goal for yourself.
- 31:47To stop him. So I said to my wife.
- 31:49Why don't I just give me about the next 12 months?
- 31:52Minimum. Let me go.
- 31:53And try Nigeria. Let me collapse a little bit of
- 31:56a structure that I already have here.
- 31:58So I was able to liquidate what I already had here, took some
- 32:01money back to Nigeria stuff. I started I started a business
- 32:04in Nigeria and funny enough within the very first two years,
- 32:07it's very first 12 months. I started to really have a some
- 32:10sort of element of fulfillment that in the business going to
- 32:13way as it is. Because at that time I was able
- 32:16to pay the bills Those in the UK, pay my bills in Nigeria.
- 32:19However, I was able to travel back and forth from Nigeria to
- 32:22the UK to see my wife and kids. So I will come in spend three
- 32:26months with that. I would have Scootin.
- 32:29I just spent three months and I'll come to you can spend a
- 32:31month. I did that for the first year,
- 32:33where I lead you to travel almost 34 times a year back
- 32:37home, to Nigeria back against the UK.
- 32:39And then the second year, I kind of reduce the little bit by
- 32:42traveling every four months instead of every three months.
- 32:45And this the third year can Reduce it back to increase, the
- 32:48by like 5 months, instead of four months, then the realities
- 32:54of like kicks in, you have kids that are growing the needs you,
- 32:58you have a wife that needs you and you're bombarded by so much
- 33:04emotional roller coaster. Now, should I follow my passion
- 33:08to creating wealth, or should I actually become a good husband
- 33:13and a good father by being in their life, taking?
- 33:17Them to school, not just traveling back home and you
- 33:20know, and take them to school for like a month in.
- 33:22I'm off again, you know, and sometimes challenges our
- 33:29blessings. So for me in 2015, I my business
- 33:32manager went through some serious challenges and I lost
- 33:35over 150,000 pounds in a single month.
- 33:37My business literally just went down the drain, always the
- 33:40business in it was in oil and gas industry.
- 33:44So I said I would transport Refined oil products from the
- 33:49Depot's to the petrol stations for the Petros to be sold to the
- 33:53end user. So, that was what I was into.
- 33:55So I had a, you know, we to, of my trucks, to of my trailers
- 33:59with petroleum products, burst into flames, had an accident and
- 34:03boasted to play Flames the same month.
- 34:06Yeah. The the same month I lost over
- 34:07150,000 pounds at that time. I felt like all my days.
- 34:12What is going on here? I felt frustrated.
- 34:14I feel like, why is it me? Why why You know, I've been here
- 34:17a couple of years in the UK. I couldn't really live the life,
- 34:22I really wanted. Now I've gone back to Nigeria,
- 34:24things are really working for me now and all of a sudden I have,
- 34:28this has happened. You know what, maybe what my
- 34:31emotional roller coaster has been telling me to just go back
- 34:33to the UK and just, you know, go and be a husband and a dad, get
- 34:36a nine-to-five job. Business is absolutely not for
- 34:38me. There's some people that would
- 34:41say that, you know, something like that happening is life's
- 34:45way of telling you like this. Not your path.
- 34:48And you know, maybe a different path is intended for you like,
- 34:51is that how you saw it sort of afterwards or okay?
- 34:55I thought I felt rubbish, I feel useless.
- 34:58I feel like the universe is not, this is not what you.
- 35:02This is not what the universe is saying, for me to do this, not
- 35:05even what God himself is, probably asking it to do.
- 35:08So maybe God is asking me to just get a job, you know, and
- 35:12then you speak to your other half is you start speaking to
- 35:14the other half and the other half say maybe maybe you.
- 35:17R-right, what? Just get a job and look after
- 35:19us. All, I just wanted to be is to
- 35:20be a husband and look after the kids and look after me and you
- 35:24start listening to all of this. And to be honest in 2015, I just
- 35:27made up my mind. I said, December, I'm back to
- 35:29England, I just picked up my bag because business is not working
- 35:32in. Nigeria had this major issue and
- 35:34I just relocated back, came back to the UK.
- 35:37I remember sitting in that in the sofa, when I came back on
- 35:39the 20th. When I came back on the 15th of
- 35:41December, sat in the sofa, really felt deflated.
- 35:44So this is me now 10 years. I was 10 years of my life
- 35:48feeling, like wasted, you know, not knowing what to do.
- 35:54So I just said to my wife, I've never had a job.
- 35:57I can't be employable. So what Nest?
- 36:00She said, just do anything, anything.
- 36:01You've got to do down. Daniel to look after us, just do
- 36:04it. So I said, okay, I'm going to
- 36:08get delivery job because I have got clean, driver's license,
- 36:10maybe that will work. And I remember, she looked at me
- 36:13and she said to me, Delivery drop.
- 36:16Well, what am I going to really? Tell my, what am I gonna tell?
- 36:18My mom, what am I going to tell family members?
- 36:20That, wow, priorities woman. Yeah, it's not Well, I'm a one
- 36:28kind of sorry for my language. So I'm like I'm that's how I
- 36:34feel a few useless now. So she said, well, anything that
- 36:38you you want to do, I wish you the best, I'll be there for you
- 36:43as your wife and let's back up a second.
- 36:46So you're sitting there, you're feeling deflated and you're
- 36:48thinking, like, okay, yeah, Alternatives maybe I'll do this.
- 36:52So obviously she's kind of thinking like, oh no, this would
- 36:55be terrible like Bob lot, right? But are you thinking in your
- 36:59mind already? Like, yeah, but this is a
- 37:01stepping stone or you just thinking about what's in front
- 37:04of you. Like, where's your head at?
- 37:06Thing at that point my head is just like I felt useless, right?
- 37:12But when you start thinking about like okay I'll be maybe
- 37:14I'll do this delivery job, maybe do that.
- 37:16So obviously, you're thinking right, I need to support my
- 37:18family, need to just bring some money in blah blah blah.
- 37:21But that what I'm saying is, is there are you already working on
- 37:25like how to build up on upon that or are you just kind of
- 37:27like I just need work and that's it.
- 37:30And that was it. It was just like I just need a
- 37:32job. I just need to look after my
- 37:34kids. I just need to look after For
- 37:36this people. Now, like, I've tried for the
- 37:38last 10 years, plus trying to make this data, but it's not
- 37:42happening. So this is it.
- 37:44Now, I don't think there isn't this going to be able to be any
- 37:47sort of like that sort of good life.
- 37:50That I so much desire and stuff like that, you know, that was
- 37:53just a mindset. There wasn't any sort of I could
- 37:57become this is a stepping stone for me or anything like that.
- 38:01For that first six months. That was just how I felt.
- 38:04I wasn't seeing anything. It's just like being in this
- 38:06sort of dark place where there is no light at the end of that
- 38:09tunnel. That's just how I felt.
- 38:13Okay, let's try and lighten things up a little bit before
- 38:16and before I get to your business because I like the way
- 38:18this is going, we're getting like a very kind of nice
- 38:21chronological, not chronological, kind of order.
- 38:24I like this. I like this, it makes me happy.
- 38:26The OCD side of me. Did you have any kind of like
- 38:31funny or weird or crazy experiences working either as a
- 38:37taxi driver or with Yoda like anything that just kind of
- 38:40sticks out that was a bit crazy or funny or anything?
- 38:44well yeah, so well, I think in terms of having something funny
- 38:52at that time was when I bought a knockdown and I obviously being
- 38:56a delivery driver and I started driving Uber, I'm able to so
- 39:00many different type of people having conversations with them.
- 39:03So, every single time I had a conversation with them.
- 39:06Some people say to me, are you sure?
- 39:07Daniel. Because we weren't because when
- 39:09people you pick up a passenger, it shows your name Daniel and
- 39:13then people's that whole. Hello.
- 39:14Daniel super. Must be someone coming to your
- 39:16cause that will hide and yesterday, or if you like, you
- 39:18know, them or they know you, because they mentioned your
- 39:20name. And you can also obviously say,
- 39:22hi Kristin, because you know who you're picking up.
- 39:25It though when people do that. Okay, you know I used to work at
- 39:32the supermarket, people would be they'd say my name like hey
- 39:35Christian and I'd look and I'll be like, oh yeah, my name tags
- 39:38then I'm like hello lovely. I really love the okay, fair
- 39:43enough. So whenever people came into my
- 39:46car and we sometimes some people want to really have a child get
- 39:48to know you know especially when you're doing airport runs in the
- 39:52morning so especially when you're taking someone to the
- 39:53airport. It can be about an hour drag you
- 39:56in the car with someone. So some people want to have a
- 39:58conversation with you always specially some long nights when
- 40:00people you know, fifth clothes from work.
- 40:02You know, I remember driving someone from London to
- 40:06Birmingham. Oh wow.
- 40:07Yeah, one night and this particular guy with talking in
- 40:10the car and we really got to talking and he said are you sure
- 40:14you're really an Uber driver? And I'm like, why did he say
- 40:17that? He said, you're so full of some
- 40:19sort of wisdom I said, only if you know what I've been through
- 40:25That's what we did. I said, I've been through the
- 40:28worst, I've been through the downs, and this is me now.
- 40:31So, some guy, so, it mean, I was like, this is a guy who had a
- 40:35ambition to have this sort of great life.
- 40:37And this is where I am ending up to me, I felt like it's
- 40:42finished. So the, you know, this is 8 now
- 40:45so it's going to be me. Oh, see, in your mind, you've
- 40:48kind of like accepted it. Okay, I'm a taxi driver.
- 40:51This is me now. Yeah, absolutely, I did.
- 40:54Wow, I did. Okay, I said, nah, I've been
- 40:58there. I remember, I mean, it sounds
- 41:00silly thinking about now, but, and sorry for my listeners, for
- 41:04bringing this up for the millionth time, but this, this
- 41:09Supermarket job I had when I was 18 because I was there for like
- 41:14two or three years. Yeah, I really felt the same my
- 41:16fellow God. I should have gone to University
- 41:19but I was too stupid for that and now this is my life.
- 41:22I stack shelves through. Being in all of this and I just
- 41:25kind of remembers feeling very similar.
- 41:28I remember thinking like it's depressing as it sounds but like
- 41:31there is no future past this point.
- 41:33This is it now and like it's kind of it's like people don't
- 41:37often think about this bit. Like when you're a person who
- 41:39knows that they should be doing so much more with their life but
- 41:43they're doing this thing that tip just pay the bills just to
- 41:47make ends meet. But yeah they're kind of stuck
- 41:51in your stuck. That's the best way to put it.
- 41:53Yes stuck This kind of position that you don't want to be in.
- 41:56And it's like, how do I get out of this?
- 41:58But you can't see a way out of it.
- 42:00This is scary mindset to have, you know, someone first, you
- 42:06know, giving an analogy about drowning, you know, a says he
- 42:12didn't know how to swim and he wasn't a both and while the boat
- 42:16was sailing the boat capsized, I'd either.
- 42:20And what then happened was he couldn't swim.
- 42:24And at some point when he, when the boat capsized and he was in
- 42:28there and it's trying to struggle to try and, you know,
- 42:31stay on top, stay above the water.
- 42:33So he doesn't drown. There was a point where he
- 42:36literally just couldn't struggle anymore.
- 42:39And he's like, all right, this is it now I just left and then
- 42:42he found himself on the water and that was when you know,
- 42:46someone reached, you know, so on, he saw someone jumped into
- 42:50the water and, you know and then Mount and when he gave me this,
- 42:56a very close friend of my way back in Africa and he said it's
- 43:01sometimes in life. You know you just use like
- 43:05you're fighting consistent battles and it could be like
- 43:09you're just going to just let yourself back.
- 43:12This is it. Now you just accept it and say
- 43:14you know what, maybe be is like someone having, you know, you
- 43:19know, to struggle for their life and useless get to a point Where
- 43:24you feel like, okay, this is it now and I'm done, that is
- 43:28exactly how I felt, you know? Because I just felt like,
- 43:31because I've been out, I've always been very energetic.
- 43:33I've been someone who I challenge myself every single
- 43:37day, like, you know, my wife said, this to me all the times
- 43:40that, oh, Daniel, you're too much.
- 43:43I said, you know, you're too much as like, yep, that is it?
- 43:47So, and I don't drink a lot of alcohol to get so drunk, boy,
- 43:54I'm very hard top, I'm very hot top at that point in time,
- 43:59that's just what happened to me. So I felt like this is it now
- 44:02accepted it yet. Been an Uber driver is how I'm
- 44:05going to look after my kids, you know drive to again it wasn't
- 44:09really easy driving Uber but you know growing a business to
- 44:12150,000 pounds in. Nigeria was a lot of money, a
- 44:16lot of money that's equivalent of 100 and 150 million naira in
- 44:21Nigeria's equivalent 150,000. Pounds in in England, that is
- 44:25quite a good. Like I'm no longer poor that
- 44:29makes sense, you know, you can't be on the pole bracket if I was
- 44:32to be in Nigeria, that's what that means.
- 44:34So it meant a lot to me, being able to travel from Nigeria back
- 44:38to England from England, back to my dream travel, the world that
- 44:41made like it was a good place to be and all of a sudden all of
- 44:46that taken away from me. You know and going through
- 44:49depression, going through anxiety, it wasn't easy at all.
- 44:53because yeah, I just accepted it and How I came out of it was
- 45:00literally. Just doing what I was doing, you
- 45:05know, do what I was doing. Just keep, you know, driving
- 45:08people around. Well, I think about a year
- 45:10later, I was I started to kind of have a little bit of Hope
- 45:14again, and trust me on this one. I think a lot of people actually
- 45:18say it is that they don't believe in God, for me, I
- 45:20believe in God a lot. And this is where I was actually
- 45:24drop. Someone off, I drop someone off
- 45:26on that long journey and a, you know, to one of these airports,
- 45:29I can't remember which I put it was again now, and I was
- 45:31actually so tired. And I Going to a McDonald's and
- 45:33was sleeping. And in my sleep, I saw myself
- 45:38being a property investor. And I was, I was just in this
- 45:44room where they were talking about property investing and all
- 45:46this stuff and I jumped up from that dream and I was sleeping
- 45:52and I jumped out that dream. And I decided to look on my
- 45:54Facebook, I've started to look on my phone, you know, to take
- 45:58the next job. But at the same time, I just
- 46:00opened my Facebook page and this was in 2017.
- 46:04And, and all hope all of my lost hope literally came back to life
- 46:09because in that dream, I was in In an event, you know, being
- 46:13taught in property and I woke up and I saw on Facebook and I
- 46:18there was an ad on Facebook saying, buying properties in
- 46:21controlling properties and so on and so forth.
- 46:23The guy was promoting it and I just literally click, it was a
- 46:2670 pounds networking event, and sometimes people say, they don't
- 46:31believe in miracles. I Like literally, it's like
- 46:35everything I've been through in my life today was building me
- 46:37for what I am today. So, at that point in time is the
- 46:40last 70 pounds, I have on my balance on my credit card.
- 46:44I paid for that 70 pounds. It was actually money.
- 46:47Meant for me to buy my petrol the next day.
- 46:50Oh wow. Okay, so I register for that
- 46:54event, I went down to London. Why the guy was talking?
- 46:57I was that oh my days. This is just too good to be
- 46:59true. Is it possible?
- 47:02Why Isn't everyone doing this in property?
- 47:05Why isn't why it's not happening?
- 47:07It's gonna back up. One second.
- 47:08So I've had similar experiences to what you said.
- 47:12Like, I don't believe in God but I do believe in something.
- 47:16I don't know. I always refer to it as like
- 47:18power of the universe but many of the principles of religion, I
- 47:21agree with like you know you should put out good and good
- 47:24will come to you and all of these things but you need to be
- 47:27like the author of everything. That's the thing, like the
- 47:30universal God will give you. Opportunities.
- 47:34Absolutely. But like, sometimes it's not
- 47:37obvious. Sometimes it's like, it can, it
- 47:40can be shrouded in something that you don't feel comfortable
- 47:42with or sometimes it requires you to take a leap of faith,
- 47:46Etc. But one thing that's always
- 47:48interested me about, especially those Vision.
- 47:50Type scenarios is how accurate they can be.
- 47:54So obviously, that Vision you had the networking event.
- 47:57When you get there, when you go to this place, is it like how
- 48:02you imagined it in its Your dream or was it just more of a
- 48:05feeling like did it? Well freak out a bit and then
- 48:07they funny enough for funny enough.
- 48:09When I eventually got registered and actually went to this
- 48:12particular event, he was opposite of what a dream was all
- 48:15like terrible dingy place. You know, it took place, but it
- 48:19was opposite, you know. So you know, it was kind of
- 48:23opposite when I mean, was kind of opposite, you know, I was in,
- 48:28I was in the room where someone was literally talking about
- 48:32property investing and stuff. Like that.
- 48:33And it was just about few of us like to three of us, but when I
- 48:36tell you this place was like, 60, 70 people.
- 48:41All right? Yeah.
- 48:43I get, you know, so from where room, where there was three
- 48:45people and, you know, you are being caused by someone and he's
- 48:48just few people and to a room where you had so many people.
- 48:52So it was quite opposite. So literally 347 more than 10
- 48:57times the numbers, you know? And yeah, and that's just how I
- 49:01feel. I got rescued From, you know,
- 49:04from all my hopes coming back to life.
- 49:07So I had that fire. This happening to us the early
- 49:11part of March to as the early part of March 2017, you know.
- 49:18And I literally just took that leap of faith and I said, wow,
- 49:22this is some amazing. So for me I do feel like in
- 49:25life. The lesson for me is that you
- 49:28know, looking back now since 2017, you know, one of the
- 49:33things That I say to myself every single day was sometimes
- 49:36when you are grown in life, when you are adding to your life or
- 49:40your cronies something in life, sometimes you we all have we all
- 49:45go through challenges, but we often blame the challenges not
- 49:51knowing that the challenge is actually sent to make you who
- 49:55you are a better person. So the whole, the whole drama of
- 49:59me losing money in Africa, the whole ten years of mineral.
- 50:03In or succeeding, in business. In the UK going back to Nigeria
- 50:07was part of a process building me for the man that I am today,
- 50:12you know, because I tried as much as possible to almost kill
- 50:18myself. Somebody without any sort of
- 50:20elements of being a very proud person because I've seen it,
- 50:26I've been there, I've done that, you know, I've been to a
- 50:30situation where I had money to not have any money.
- 50:34I've been to all different types of you know, challenges every
- 50:38single successful, entrepreneurs goes to, to go through, because
- 50:42the Astro, our stories, and our journey is what makes us you
- 50:47know and if you're able to go through those challenges and US
- 50:52Taste of time, then that means when success actually start to,
- 50:56to come your way. It's not a surprise because
- 51:01you've paid a price so for me, be where I am today, you know,
- 51:07and going through this drummers in my life just you know, just
- 51:11to encourage anyone. If you really want to be
- 51:14somebody who want to be more and do more in life, it's not going
- 51:17to be handed to you on a platter of a goat.
- 51:20Couldn't agree more. Yeah, youyou always sacrifice
- 51:22something. I think, for many of us it's
- 51:25time, isn't it? I mean, money is a big
- 51:28investment, but money comes and money goes.
- 51:30I think more of the most of the time, it's about time.
- 51:35It's about putting the time in and you'll have people around
- 51:38you say, like why are you wasting your time with that?
- 51:40Like, you know, that it's like, for instance, what I do, you
- 51:43know, there are people even family the refer to it as a
- 51:48hobby. And it's not like that for me, I
- 51:52don't, but I don't get angry anymore.
- 51:54I get why they think that way, but I'm looking at what this can
- 51:59do for me because I know that I would just never will be happy
- 52:02doing a 9 to 5 job, you know, doing contract work.
- 52:07Whatever. Like I've been there done that
- 52:08one, the T-shirt, you know, and it always just maybe unfulfilled
- 52:13may be sad everything in between but this like invigorates me.
- 52:17I never get bored of this. I always Joy.
- 52:20It's always different and it feels right, which I think is
- 52:23the most important thing. Now bring it back to because I
- 52:28want to know a little bit more before you sort of talk about
- 52:31your business. So what was it about that
- 52:33conversation? That kind of made you think okay
- 52:37this is what I need to be doing that.
- 52:39What was it about property management that made you think?
- 52:41Okay I didn't waste 80 pounds. This is definitely 70 pounds.
- 52:46This is definitely what I should be doing this.
- 52:50Let's go all-in. Like what was the thing that
- 52:51clicked for you? So one of the things that click
- 52:55for me when I attended at £70 event networking event was I
- 53:01just realize literally that. Oh, wow.
- 53:05So People actually do come together and talk about business
- 53:09because, oh, okay, you know, I know whatever lie before then I
- 53:15believe was never exposed to networking.
- 53:19I was never exposed to neck networking.
- 53:21I was never, like I said, I remember, I said, I've been,
- 53:25I've been for like 10 years or 12 years of my life, being in
- 53:29this country and I'm close to a community of fellow Nigerian
- 53:34civil learners. Ugandan sense, Guardians.
- 53:38I'm just in that sort of Africa community.
- 53:40So I'm I'm I'm just where I'm in my comfort zone.
- 53:47So so when that happened, and I'm now in the, I'm sitting in
- 53:51the room, the guy sitting next to me Chinese guy.
- 53:54The next guy sent to me, Japanese the next guys in
- 53:56English. And this guy behind me is Indian
- 53:58and I look, I'm looking for someone who is Nigerian around
- 54:02me so I can see close to them. There isn't any oh yeah, oh wow,
- 54:08I love this so, wow. So I had a different mentality,
- 54:12my mentality was the Chinese guy wasn't going to talk.
- 54:16Me. Imagine, I'm telling my own self
- 54:19down like little, I'm tearing my own self apart by having all
- 54:23these elements of negativity or over the years thinking.
- 54:27Okay, you know, I've got to be experienced to being some
- 54:30sitting rooms. Oh, I've got to know something
- 54:33to be in some setting places, I say hand, I'm in this room and
- 54:39this guy's talking about property.
- 54:40And the next guys, the next guy solution is that, wow, really?
- 54:43You can do that. I'm not, yeah, I'm like, why
- 54:46Like, wow, and we're talking, everyone is talking.
- 54:48And at the end of that, I'm just like, I'm in.
- 54:51I'm raising up my hand already like, what nest, what do I do
- 54:53next? I need to do this and that, and
- 54:57that just led me to, you know, a different perspective, the
- 55:01different way of thinking. And I mean, we were just a
- 55:06massive breakthrough. And from that time, I just
- 55:09started, I became a network, like a network holic, if that's
- 55:14if there's any word as there, I just Started networking
- 55:17networking, getting myself educated personal development
- 55:22after personal development, you know empowering my mind and
- 55:25powering my vision empowering my growth.
- 55:29You know, when this sort of where did you go from here in
- 55:34terms of getting your first kind of job in Property Management?
- 55:37Like what was the first steps there?
- 55:39Well, I did go get a job. I got a where to give myself a
- 55:43business, okay. Okay.
- 55:45You will. Talk us through that.
- 55:47Like how did that kind of snow or steps that you say?
- 55:51So I signed up, I signed up for the training program that they
- 55:57had. It was about 1750.
- 55:59If I can remember that 1950s interested, so the networking
- 56:03event was more expensive than the training.
- 56:05No, 1717 when I'm in 1750 and 1717 seventh also 150-pound.
- 56:13Sorry, sorry, okay. Yeah, that sounds about right.
- 56:17£50 was a training program so I said I didn't have it but at
- 56:22that point in time, I just said to myself, I'm gonna put my
- 56:25hands up and I literally put my hands up and I said to the guy
- 56:29I'm willing to come in now. I've got, I've got about 200
- 56:31pounds, you know, only because I've obviously got paid for my
- 56:36Uber job and I had it was a because Uber usually pays us on
- 56:40a Friday. So, and I went to this training
- 56:42on a Friday, so the money just hit my account so I was like,
- 56:44yes, I'm commenting, 200 pounds. Right away and is there any way
- 56:48you can give me time to pay so funny enough?
- 56:51He they structured. I think it's structured about
- 56:54two months month, payment plan and said.
- 56:56Once you finish pain then you can come to the training as the,
- 56:59okay? Let's do it.
- 57:01So I made the commitment, I paid and no backup back a second,
- 57:05that's a bit dodgy. We do you mean they were like?
- 57:08Yeah yeah. You pay us first and then we'll
- 57:11give you the training. Like did you not just sort of
- 57:13think straight away last bit dodgy?
- 57:16Nah, I didn't feel that. I just I just felt like what is
- 57:20the worst that can happen right now but they could take your
- 57:22money and just scam and funny enough.
- 57:27It's good. You said this, because when I
- 57:29left that networking event, and I went to, I went and I spoke to
- 57:32a friend on a Saturday and he they said to me, you were being
- 57:35scammed. Every person I told, I just made
- 57:39a commitment to a, you know, a seven 1,700 pounds of boost
- 57:44property training and it's how I know it doesn't work.
- 57:47You're going to be scammed, you know, and I'm just supposed to
- 57:50eat. I really want to thank myself.
- 57:52I really want to thank Daniel Moses for listening to Daniel
- 57:54Moses. Because if absolutely like, if I
- 57:58did not listen to Daniel Moses, I would not be where I am today,
- 58:02here in Toledo. Yeah, well you got so, you know,
- 58:04I just want to thank myself because every single person that
- 58:06I Folks, you said to me, I was being scammed the same way.
- 58:10You just asked me 200-pound. Wait a minute.
- 58:12Well only this, here's the thing.
- 58:14Like I am the same as you. I trust my intuition with
- 58:18everything I spit crazy but when you start doing that it does it
- 58:25makes sense because you can't lie to yourself, you know?
- 58:29But yeah. There I think the reason the why
- 58:31a lot of people would be skeptical is just because of the
- 58:33way they laid that out, like we will allow You to do the
- 58:38training. Once you've paid that, that's I
- 58:40think, because and the thing is, there are a lot of scams,
- 58:43especially in the UK, where they have things like that, where
- 58:47they try to get you to pay up front for something, and then
- 58:49they just see you later, you never see them again and I think
- 58:52that's where that kind of comes from, you know, not necessarily
- 58:55that they doubt you and what you're trying to achieve, just
- 58:58doubt that specific way that that's laid out if you know what
- 59:02I mean. Yeah.
- 59:03Absolutely. This is, this is one of the
- 59:05things that You've been through where life is, knock you down so
- 59:09many times. You know, this is where you
- 59:13develop a complete different mindset, okay?
- 59:16So for me life is knocked me down so many times and I've been
- 59:22in a place where I lost everything you know lost over
- 59:24150 K and for me, five two hundred percent commitment was
- 59:30in. Was it seemed to be that sort of
- 59:33a loss now because I'm like, if I lost 150 and I didn't die, So
- 59:41my mentality is, you know, this is why I said, every single
- 59:45thing I've been through in life, builds me for who I am today.
- 59:47My risk appetite, my mindset, my transition, it is built is built
- 59:53me. So, challenges are there to
- 59:56actually make a better, create a better version of you, not to
- 59:59pull you down, but what normally happens to a lot of people is
- 1:00:03that they let their challenges in life, soak them in transition
- 1:00:06them into somebody that they accept that you know I'm no
- 1:00:11longer Unger good for nothing. And you know, me because I've
- 1:00:16been through so much. And at that time, making that
- 1:00:18commitment. Even when every single person
- 1:00:20for the voted for the four months plus or five months plus,
- 1:00:24every person I was telling her, I'm learning this property
- 1:00:27thing, you know, I'm going to these places and people Everyone
- 1:00:30told me the same community of people that I was surrounded.
- 1:00:34By told me I was like it's not going to work.
- 1:00:39It doesn't, nobody gets rich and Nobody Breaks that breaks
- 1:00:44through that easily in the UK, just by Boring other people's
- 1:00:49property because the strategy that was taught us at then was
- 1:00:52how to trade property that I don't own and get paid and also
- 1:00:57how to control people's property that I don't own an act.
- 1:00:59As if I am the owner of the property, you know, it's called
- 1:01:03subletting. So for people that That I spoke
- 1:01:09to say all that is illegal everyone said is illegal but I
- 1:01:13was getting taught the right way, the right way to do it and
- 1:01:16legally do it and actually treat it as a business.
- 1:01:19Yeah, you know, I've called long story short.
- 1:01:24The business was ecstatic. My business was established by
- 1:01:27October November, 2017 and November 2018, I had a business
- 1:01:36that was doing a ton of over 80,000 pounds, 12 months later,
- 1:01:40I created a business in property that was that brought in 80,000
- 1:01:44pound Plus in revenue. And in October 2018, I quit my
- 1:01:49Uber driving job. Congrats, that's awesome.
- 1:01:53Yeah. I mean it's these things do tend
- 1:01:55to be a kind of step-by-step process, really?
- 1:01:58And it is interesting how these things develop and that's kind
- 1:02:03of late leading me to my next question actually.
- 1:02:05So now you have this company, which we briefly mentioned
- 1:02:08before it's known as property wealth education.
- 1:02:11So talk to us about the various different services that you
- 1:02:14provide and just exactly what you do with it.
- 1:02:17Basically, basically, like I said, when you was introducing
- 1:02:21me and we've kind of focus on Up to F education.
- 1:02:24Well, weights or started started from property welfare state.
- 1:02:28So property welfare state is a company that manages property on
- 1:02:33behalf of tired, landlords or landlords, is looking for rental
- 1:02:37income without having to take the headaches or external
- 1:02:41agents, you know, struggling to rent out properties.
- 1:02:45What we do is we rent this property back.
- 1:02:47We rent this property from the landlord's.
- 1:02:48The letting agents, we seek the permission.
- 1:02:52To sublet that property on the be on behalf of the landlord.
- 1:02:57And what we do is we have the permission from them right to to
- 1:03:03rent the house out, as a House of multiple occupation.
- 1:03:07So most if you if you're if you physically you know G what you
- 1:03:12need to go to, do you go to UNI here?
- 1:03:14Yeah, did Marcus. Did you go from home?
- 1:03:17Or did you stay in? Did you stay in hostels?
- 1:03:20What was your situation when? Does campus-based, so I stayed
- 1:03:24in horse great. So if you notice and student
- 1:03:27economy student student environment, sorry, what you
- 1:03:30will find out is that you see five or six individuals living
- 1:03:33together, but they're friends, they're not related, but
- 1:03:36everybody is paying their rent to the landlord so those type of
- 1:03:39properties called hmos House of multiple occupation.
- 1:03:43So what I did was I would rent a four bedroom with a three
- 1:03:47reception room or two reception room from the landlord.
- 1:03:51And I would then say to the lon No doubt.
- 1:03:52I'm renting your property out from you and I'm going to pay
- 1:03:55you, for example, 1,500 pounds. However, I'm not the one that's
- 1:03:59going to live in that property, but I need your permission to be
- 1:04:02able to rent it out to five, six.
- 1:04:03Seven people to live in that house.
- 1:04:05Oh, wow. Okay, we need to apply for a
- 1:04:08license, you know, something called a mandatory HMO license,
- 1:04:12which is for me, which allows me to have five or six individuals
- 1:04:17in that property. So, this is what you were
- 1:04:20talking about. This is the legal way to do
- 1:04:22Subway. Absolutely.
- 1:04:24Hi. I'm glad I finally understand
- 1:04:26this is. Yeah, it's good to learn.
- 1:04:28This is good stuff. Yes.
- 1:04:30And that was where the journey started.
- 1:04:32So I would then look, I wouldn't go on Rightmove.
- 1:04:34Go on zoopla. Look for landlords.
- 1:04:37And property that has been on the market for three months,
- 1:04:39four months, five months, not renting.
- 1:04:41And I would then offer them a guaranteed rent.
- 1:04:43I would be referenced, as a tenant, you know, pre qualified
- 1:04:47as a tenant. However, I have the permission,
- 1:04:50you know, as the tenant to act, As the landlord by renting this
- 1:04:55property out to to anyone who's looking to rent the rooms.
- 1:04:59Yeah, and this is the I wanted to ask you next actually, so
- 1:05:03obviously the landlord is putting a lot of trust in you to
- 1:05:06make sure that the house is taking care of 1 million
- 1:05:09percent, right. So like how do you actually
- 1:05:11enforce that particularly because you're acting as like a
- 1:05:14business entity that's managing this?
- 1:05:16So like let's say you have students students and notorious
- 1:05:19for kind of messing up, houses and stuff, it's just what we do.
- 1:05:23So how do you how do you stop that?
- 1:05:27Basically what do you wear to the our pre-qualification
- 1:05:31process that take place? It's not everyone that wants to
- 1:05:33rent your house. You're going to give your house
- 1:05:35too. All right, first of all, the
- 1:05:37landlord the landlord is putting a lot of trust and liability and
- 1:05:40you should because he's invested a minimum of 20, 25 percent
- 1:05:43deposit to actually have, you know, acquire that asset, you
- 1:05:47know, and this is where you've got to be knowledgeable, you've
- 1:05:50got to have the skill, you've got to have the right.
- 1:05:52Nation to do it, you know. So you've got to present
- 1:05:55yourself well, for someone to believe in you, but obviously I
- 1:05:59was, I was, I was able to present myself and landlords
- 1:06:04letting agents that are working with myself and I would then
- 1:06:08obviously rent those houses out on the room by room basis,
- 1:06:12obviously vetting through every single person that comes to rent
- 1:06:15the house. So one of the things I did do
- 1:06:17most time is, I would never rent a house, three rooms two, three
- 1:06:21friends. I would never do that.
- 1:06:23I will always only rented two friends so because when it
- 1:06:27becomes three friends, the three friends can actually dominate
- 1:06:29the house and Treehouse. You know, how they like, and
- 1:06:32actually scare all the tenants and also, you know, I, I see, I
- 1:06:37never got to the student Market. I rented that the house has two
- 1:06:42professionals. So people who were project
- 1:06:44managers and people who probably police official and NHS worker.
- 1:06:49So, I'll have different sort of professionals, live in that
- 1:06:51house today. To go to work.
- 1:06:53You know, there is a market for the student marketing, hmos, or
- 1:06:57I focus on the professional, usually focus on the
- 1:07:00professional side and again, it just worked so far so good for
- 1:07:05years on, you know, we currently have over 60 tenants in our
- 1:07:09portfolio and we have a business turning over half a million
- 1:07:12pounds in Revenue, you know, and that's just how we manage to
- 1:07:15build property with estate. Yeah, this is another thing as
- 1:07:19well. So you've actually managed to
- 1:07:20develop an Investment Portfolio. Polio, that's worth over a
- 1:07:23million pounds. So like, how did you get to that
- 1:07:26point because obviously that doesn't happen overnight.
- 1:07:28So like how have you you got to that point?
- 1:07:31It's come from consistency. Is come from hard, work is come
- 1:07:35from, you know. Using every challenge that went
- 1:07:40through to just you know develop a very strong thick skin.
- 1:07:46You know just saying you know what I've been through so much
- 1:07:50lost money. It's time for me to smash it now
- 1:07:54because I am because the first ten years I didn't have that
- 1:07:58sort of breakthroughs that I have now I didn't I did never
- 1:08:02develop myself. I never had a conversation with
- 1:08:05other business entrepreneurs who are doing well.
- 1:08:08So, I talked to my comfort zone. So the difference now is, you
- 1:08:13know, way back. I never had.
- 1:08:14I never had friends who had Millions.
- 1:08:16I never had a friend that I can look him as though he's a
- 1:08:18millionaire. I'll tell me how you became a
- 1:08:20millionaire and we have a million answer the conversation.
- 1:08:23So I was in a situation whereby probably had a business.
- 1:08:26I had a business of 550,000 pounds and probably the people
- 1:08:30who I was leveling up with where people, you know, no disrespect
- 1:08:34to anyone. But if you want to become a
- 1:08:36millionaire, All right, you've got to find yourself for
- 1:08:39millionaires. So you can become the fifth
- 1:08:41millionaire. If you want to become
- 1:08:44successful, you go find yourself for successful people.
- 1:08:47So you can become the fifth successful person if you want to
- 1:08:50become the. If you want to be positive, you
- 1:08:53go find yourself for so successful for positive people,
- 1:08:56and you become the fifth. So, these were just actions that
- 1:09:00I took invested heavily into my personal developments and
- 1:09:05non-stop to today, tie. I still have I have two mentors
- 1:09:09who, you know, and who currently mentors me?
- 1:09:13Helps me out when I'm down, or when I'm when I'm high, whether
- 1:09:16it is just need someone to help you.
- 1:09:18You know someone who understand where you're coming from.
- 1:09:21So those are those, are we what I've been able to use to build a
- 1:09:25business in, in, in the images of millions now because, you
- 1:09:29know, you can't do it all by yourself, you can't.
- 1:09:33You need people, you need coaching, you need people to To
- 1:09:38lift you up when you're down, you know, and you've got to go
- 1:09:41to the right person for the right advice.
- 1:09:42You can't go to the wrong person for advice.
- 1:09:45A lot of people go to the wrong person for the, for the right
- 1:09:48advice, which is one of these that I did do, you know, during
- 1:09:51those times where I was going through those challenges, I went
- 1:09:55for the wrong people for the ride.
- 1:09:56Vice, I also believed in myself for my, for me to advise me, but
- 1:10:01obviously, then at that time other than the fact that I
- 1:10:04listen to myself, which sometimes I give credits to go,
- 1:10:08I did not really go to people for help.
- 1:10:10I didn't reach out for help. So this time around, I reached
- 1:10:14out for help. So lessons, learned from
- 1:10:17everything that I went through the past, I used it positively
- 1:10:21now. And this is world's not helped
- 1:10:23me build a business over the last couple of dinners over the
- 1:10:27last four years. So, yes, it doesn't happen
- 1:10:30overnight for you to just jump from an Uber driver to building
- 1:10:33a business such as mind, which is not, valid over two million
- 1:10:36pounds, okay? Yeah, it doesn't happen
- 1:10:40overnight takes a lot of hard work but just have a goal.
- 1:10:45Make them down. Alright, have a vision don't
- 1:10:51deprive yourself from consistently reviewing that
- 1:10:53Vision. All right and take take one step
- 1:10:57at a time and trust me with the right environment with the right
- 1:11:01guidance with the rights Drive resilience You know,
- 1:11:06understanding that nothing called success happens overnight
- 1:11:10and remember, it's A build-up just how we've been talking on
- 1:11:13this podcast because there's been a buildup of getting to
- 1:11:16where we are. Now that is just like, it's a
- 1:11:18process of Brick by Brick one brick at a time.
- 1:11:21One brick at a time, one brick at a time, and trust me.
- 1:11:24Success is in front of every everyone.
- 1:11:28In agree more. Yeah, when you when you were
- 1:11:31talking the you mentioned that you stomp sometimes still get
- 1:11:35mentored by other people, but you also offer mentoring
- 1:11:39services. So, talk to us a little bit
- 1:11:40about what you actually offer in that regard and how people can
- 1:11:43benefit from that. Well like I said, we when I
- 1:11:48start a property with estate, one of the things that I did
- 1:11:51really well was I documented my journey in front of social media
- 1:11:55from nothing to being where I am now.
- 1:11:57So if you probably go through But my Instagram or my Facebook,
- 1:12:01you see how it literally just documented, everything.
- 1:12:03So I started documenting everything in 2017 into 2018 and
- 1:12:10a daily part of 2019. A lot of people who had their
- 1:12:14own events that are reaching out to me to come and share my
- 1:12:17journey to inspire motivate other people.
- 1:12:20And I would go to networking events.
- 1:12:22I remember my very first networking event where I was
- 1:12:25invited with this amazing lady. She's the founder of Of property
- 1:12:29pillars. So she invited me over to come
- 1:12:31and speak in her events. And I remember going to all the
- 1:12:35networking event Lucien property me because I'm business out of
- 1:12:38London and different types of networking events.
- 1:12:40And these people invite me to just come and share the energy
- 1:12:43behind my website, investing in what I'm doing.
- 1:12:46And I started to do that. And every time I went to speak,
- 1:12:50people will reach out to me and say, Daniel, what is it that you
- 1:12:55do? Can I sit down with you for an
- 1:12:56hour or two to pick your brain? My pay you for it, and people
- 1:13:02started planting it just people said, okay, I'll pick you up.
- 1:13:05You know, let's go for a meal. I want to pick your brain.
- 1:13:08I'll pay for the meal is on me. Daddy.
- 1:13:10Let's go for coffee. The coffee is only Daniel, you
- 1:13:13know, I thought my, you know, paying for a drink and I started
- 1:13:16receiving gifts like that. So I remember, you know, I went
- 1:13:19for either. I had, I had gone to a coffee
- 1:13:22meeting to, to sit down with someone, and I give them some
- 1:13:26very serious tip. Not get, which I didn't even
- 1:13:28know. I was doing for three days
- 1:13:30later. They went and secure the
- 1:13:31property and he literally said care.
- 1:13:33I want to see you and he came to my house and literally brought
- 1:13:36me a bottle of Dom Perignon and Allah.
- 1:13:40Wow! Is that those things?
- 1:13:41You said it worked and I just wanted to come and say thank
- 1:13:44you. And obviously, I was investing
- 1:13:47in my property journey and I started to reach out now for
- 1:13:52mindset, coaches mindset, trainers, personal development
- 1:13:57coaches. Stuff you know, just you name
- 1:13:59your side which now and I and in 2019 towards the middle of the
- 1:14:06year, I decided to say, you know what, instead of me going to
- 1:14:09other peoples event to speak all the time, why don't I host my
- 1:14:12own network? I launched a networking event
- 1:14:14called the rent to rent property Network, which was which is
- 1:14:18focused on talking on the focusing on discussing topics
- 1:14:23like just controlling other people's property which was rent
- 1:14:26the rent. We launched that in September.
- 1:14:2819 and I remember our first event, we had about 50 people in
- 1:14:32the room s event in October where the by 102 third events in
- 1:14:37November where the bomb was 250 people in the room.
- 1:14:41And at that point of time, we decided to launch our training
- 1:14:45program. So I launched it and we had our
- 1:14:48first boot camp which was a two days training bootcamp and
- 1:14:51Central London. We launched it and we had about
- 1:14:53five or six people in attendance.
- 1:14:57And two thousand and that same year, I met my, my current
- 1:15:02mental Adams thought he's done over 60 million pounds in sales
- 1:15:07on social media. I reached out to him and I went
- 1:15:11to this event and we started talking, I just shared my
- 1:15:13journey. He just said, Daniel, you've got
- 1:15:15so much to help other people like yourself or other people.
- 1:15:18You have so much in you that you can actually not only.
- 1:15:22Let's forget about the monetization part, but you have
- 1:15:26so much. You that just listen to you.
- 1:15:28I feel so inspired. I'm like whoa, you know other
- 1:15:32really and it's like there are some, there are lots of limiting
- 1:15:36beliefs here and I can see because it's where you're coming
- 1:15:39from. They are things you've dipped
- 1:15:41their pains that you've been through and we need to unlock
- 1:15:43them. And yeah, we had a sit-down and
- 1:15:46he took me into this craziest place like he just motivated
- 1:15:50multi and he took me to this really big place in terms of
- 1:15:55mentally Where initially what we got in that?
- 1:15:59Need that Mentor room. It was so dark, that it was no
- 1:16:01light, and eventually, he led me to see my own life and the light
- 1:16:06shine so brightly. And I said, wow, I'm ready to
- 1:16:10rock and roll and guess what 2020.
- 1:16:12I found a property worth of education, and just between that
- 1:16:162019 to now, we've trained over 100.
- 1:16:21Currently, we've got those that those that have been through our
- 1:16:24training program, we've got we've Mac.
- 1:16:27We've got massive success. We have, we run a mentorship
- 1:16:29program those that go through, 60, 80 percent, or 60 percent of
- 1:16:34those have been through the training program, they've had
- 1:16:37success. 80% of those who have been through my mentorship
- 1:16:40program, which is a minimum of 6 months to 12 months program.
- 1:16:44Currently actually achieving success, the testimonials are
- 1:16:47crazy. And I just look back and I'm
- 1:16:49like, Oh my days, like, you know, I'm I just feel so humbled
- 1:16:54just feel so happy that. People who never told they can
- 1:16:58get started in property. You know, are getting started in
- 1:17:01property. One of our, one of my student,
- 1:17:03Nick, I feel like I feel started in, you know, he was also an
- 1:17:06Uber driver. He saw he listens to, my Uber
- 1:17:09driver story and he reached out to me, and he became one of my
- 1:17:12clients and Nick started his journey last year in.
- 1:17:17He's not built a business. Generating, almost 100,000
- 1:17:20pounds already with six properties in his portfolio.
- 1:17:24We go the likes of evidence. We We got so many people who've
- 1:17:28been able to just literally, you know, stuff from nothing and
- 1:17:32taking on properties that they don't own and generating cash
- 1:17:35flow obviously doing the right. We're doing it legal way and you
- 1:17:39know, you know, helping them their family out, you know, and
- 1:17:42getting started in property. So we do offer a lot of coaching
- 1:17:46around mindsets to winning and properties.
- 1:17:49Getting started in property building a life of your dream
- 1:17:52through property. One of these, I don't sell is
- 1:17:54the get to each week analogy. Of of it.
- 1:17:57I don't sell that it is you need to bring your heart, you need to
- 1:18:02bring your shoes, your boots, you needed everything that you
- 1:18:06have. You need to bring it to work.
- 1:18:08If you really want to be successful, in property is not a
- 1:18:10three-month get which we scheme. It took me 12 months to quit my
- 1:18:14job. It took me three years to build
- 1:18:17a personal portfolio of over 1.5 million with a business of two
- 1:18:22million. It's not taking me one or two,
- 1:18:24three years, taken me four years, to be where I am now.
- 1:18:27So it's it's it's a it's a it's a journey of the Brave.
- 1:18:32It's not for the faint-hearted, you know.
- 1:18:34So yeah, anyone can actually get started in property.
- 1:18:37So those are the those are the things that we offer our
- 1:18:39property of Education. We helped to motivate.
- 1:18:41We hope to inspire we help to to destroy the limiting belief that
- 1:18:46people have. We really crush it like limited
- 1:18:49live. You have to crush it.
- 1:18:50It's not store your best friend. You have to destroy, you know.
- 1:18:54So we help people eliminate that limiting belief because I Suffer
- 1:18:57from it, myself and over the course of years, having mentors
- 1:19:00has actually helped me so much, you know, to do that.
- 1:19:03So, yeah, so that's what we do. Property of Education.
- 1:19:07Excellent, thank you for sharing now.
- 1:19:11I ask my guests a lot and they always gets a different
- 1:19:13response, but I'd love to hear what you have to say.
- 1:19:17What's the biggest life lesson that you've learned so far, the
- 1:19:23biggest life lesson is no matter how much you get knocked down.
- 1:19:26I don't stay there. No matter what it is, no matter
- 1:19:31how many times you get knocked down, as you can share through
- 1:19:34my eyes, you can see it through my, through my journey, you
- 1:19:37know, I wanted a better life came to England.
- 1:19:41It didn't happen. We look at about Nigeria, went
- 1:19:44back to start a business, got knocked down, came back to the
- 1:19:46UK again and felt depressed, felt lost, you know, no matter
- 1:19:52what you go through, if you think you've already met your
- 1:19:55end, remember this, the end? You actually your beginning, you
- 1:20:01know, don't stay there. Don't give up.
- 1:20:04Don't say, oh, it's finished because the universe believes
- 1:20:10in. You the God who created you
- 1:20:11beliefs in, you depend, whatever you believe in.
- 1:20:14You didn't, you're not. There is no such thing as, you
