- 0:06Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to No Dribble, the global home of
- 0:10Speaker 1: ankle socks, skinny jeans and side parted hair. And we
- 0:13Speaker 1: are sticking with that. We don't care what anyone has
- 0:15Speaker 1: to say about it. It's been an exciting week of
- 0:18Speaker 1: netball and I am here in Sydney, joined.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Bar room Catherine Cox, My everyone.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Hi everyone, and we don't have Liz again this week,
- 0:26Speaker 1: but you will all be delighted to hear that our
- 0:28Speaker 1: very dear friend Sue Gordion has joined us.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Thanks guys, and actually remember to turn up unlike Liz, Yay, you.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Could be Governor General Wonder at this rape and look big. Congratulations.
- 0:42Speaker 4: Thank you. Yeah, nice day to wake up.
- 0:44Speaker 3: I guess for my other gig other than a commentator
- 0:48Speaker 3: being with Foavers. So yeah, nice to have a minor
- 0:50Speaker 3: premiership for the club first time in their history, which
- 0:53Speaker 3: is exciting. And I said, I didn't know that, but
- 0:56Speaker 3: it was interesting. We got back into the change room
- 0:58Speaker 3: and they sang the club song and it didn't have
- 0:59Speaker 3: the gusto that I expected it to, but I think
- 1:01Speaker 3: they're just a group that's really focused.
- 1:03Speaker 4: On the ultimate prize.
- 1:04Speaker 3: So yeah, they enjoyed it and it was a good
- 1:07Speaker 3: Win and we had a great crowd. It was a
- 1:09Speaker 3: really good day at roc Arena, and then we go
- 1:11Speaker 3: on to round fourteen.
- 1:12Speaker 2: How funny. We interviewed Katie and de Haany on Pivot
- 1:15Speaker 2: last night too, because she was one hundred games, which
- 1:18Speaker 2: is a massive milestone. But talk to her about having
- 1:21Speaker 2: another game at home because you've been on the road
- 1:24Speaker 2: so much now you're going to end up with three
- 1:26Speaker 2: or four games in a row at home, and how
- 1:28Speaker 2: good it was to have a final And she's like, yeah, yeah,
- 1:30Speaker 2: we'll get through that one and then we'll just play
- 1:32Speaker 2: whoever comes to Melbourne. She's already got a self in
- 1:35Speaker 2: the Mad Final. She doesn't get who it is, just
- 1:37Speaker 2: going to deal with it when it happens.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Yeah, well, two things with that. She's an absolute cracker.
- 1:42Speaker 3: She really had been very sick this week and we
- 1:44Speaker 3: weren't even sure if she would get up to play.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Her head's clouded at the best of time, should I
- 1:49Speaker 3: say little alone having a really bad head cold on
- 1:52Speaker 3: top of it, But yeah, no, she's a classic. I
- 1:55Speaker 3: actually text her caf last night after I got home
- 1:58Speaker 3: and watched the game back and watched Pivot, and I
- 2:01Speaker 3: have said to her KD. Next time you're on pivot,
- 2:03Speaker 3: if ever that happens, try and stare down the camera
- 2:06Speaker 3: because she was doing it like.
- 2:07Speaker 4: She was listening to a radio interview, you know, like, oh,
- 2:10Speaker 4: she was so embarrassed.
- 2:11Speaker 3: You sent me back a whole bunch of memes with
- 2:13Speaker 3: her running for the hills and everything.
- 2:15Speaker 4: She was highly embarrassed.
- 2:16Speaker 3: But she's a classic, isn't she real character of the
- 2:19Speaker 3: game that's shining at the moment.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah, she's great. Hey, speaking of sickness, is Jordan Cransberg? Okay?
- 2:25Speaker 4: Yeah, Jordan was Oh god, she was sick. She'll be
- 2:28Speaker 4: fine for next week.
- 2:29Speaker 3: We gave her every chance, but yeah, she was over
- 2:32Speaker 3: a toilet bowl for three days, really crooks.
- 2:34Speaker 4: So we've had a lot of illness.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Jania was pretty sick during the game, which was a
- 2:38Speaker 3: little indicative of her I guess her performance, even though
- 2:41Speaker 3: it was still stellar. But we've been on the road
- 2:43Speaker 3: a lot, Cathin, you know, like anyone when you're in
- 2:46Speaker 3: an airplane week after week after week, you kind of
- 2:50Speaker 3: put yourself up for risk. And I think we've come
- 2:53Speaker 3: away reasonably unscathed. But it's almost like we held on
- 2:56Speaker 3: to our breath for five weeks of this enormous travel
- 3:00Speaker 3: and then we've got back and everyone's exhaled and just
- 3:02Speaker 3: fallen in a heap.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I really liked that thing. I think it was the
- 3:05Speaker 1: fever social media about the kind of the real time
- 3:09Speaker 1: for the trip to the Sunshine cast the week before,
- 3:11Speaker 1: just to have a look at what this really puts
- 3:14Speaker 1: them through, you know, puts their bodies through, and then
- 3:16Speaker 1: they have to go out in court and win a game.
- 3:18Speaker 1: It's a long way to the Long West.
- 3:20Speaker 3: I mean, I know the Sunny Coast do that once
- 3:23Speaker 3: a year, so cudos to them as well. I don't
- 3:26Speaker 3: even think that that social media post did the trip
- 3:29Speaker 3: any justice. Like it was good to see and it's
- 3:32Speaker 3: great to give I guess the externals and insiders to
- 3:35Speaker 3: what it's like. But my alarm went off at four
- 3:38Speaker 3: point thirty in the morning and we were having captains
- 3:42Speaker 3: run at USC Stadium at what was it, six point
- 3:46Speaker 3: thirty pm, Like it's just insane. And unfortunately we landed
- 3:51Speaker 3: in Brisbane and there is no direct flights into the
- 3:53Speaker 3: Sunny Coast, so we either have to choose to fly
- 3:55Speaker 3: into Sydney and then take a second flight. Then you
- 3:57Speaker 3: put a whole bunch of risks at place with flight issues,
- 4:01Speaker 3: or alternatively, you're flying to Brisbane and then you hop
- 4:03Speaker 3: on a bus to get to the Sunny Coast and
- 4:05Speaker 3: then you're dealing with Friday afternoon traffic Saturday game and
- 4:09Speaker 3: there was a major accident on the on the highway
- 4:12Speaker 3: and so instead of it being an hour and ten minutes,
- 4:14Speaker 3: it was two hours and thirty minutes.
- 4:15Speaker 2: So I know it's hard for you guys because you
- 4:18Speaker 2: don't want to be away from home any longer. But
- 4:20Speaker 2: do you ever think about those trips going a couple
- 4:22Speaker 2: of days prior.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Well, we used to do that cat, But then when
- 4:26Speaker 3: you can't isolate your decision making on Sunny Coast because
- 4:29Speaker 3: you've got to weigh up everything else that's happening. And
- 4:31Speaker 3: if you backtrack from the Sunny Coast, we've been on
- 4:33Speaker 3: the road for three or four weeks. So you know,
- 4:37Speaker 3: the players are a bit like their pillow and their
- 4:40Speaker 3: family and surroundings, and getting home is as important. So
- 4:44Speaker 3: I think every year that any club kind of looks
- 4:46Speaker 3: at their schedule, they'll always weigh up where their heavy
- 4:48Speaker 3: travel periods are. And sometimes you tend to want to
- 4:51Speaker 3: stay away and other times you don't. But I think
- 4:55Speaker 3: for us, the most difficult part for Fever and what
- 4:57Speaker 3: we try to work with a league on is is
- 4:59Speaker 3: there any possible that we could just get in and
- 5:02Speaker 3: have to stay one night. But when we have to
- 5:04Speaker 3: play on a Saturday night, I think there's only one venue.
- 5:06Speaker 4: That we can actually fly out of and get back
- 5:08Speaker 4: to Perth.
- 5:09Speaker 3: So we end up having to have two nights away,
- 5:11Speaker 3: which is a real nightmare. And so the Sunny Coast
- 5:15Speaker 3: one if we went in an extra day. Again, we're traveling.
- 5:17Speaker 3: We're away for three days a lot.
- 5:20Speaker 1: We've got to do something to stop you guys. Got
- 5:22Speaker 1: to make it hard for the Fever somehow to even
- 5:24Speaker 1: up the competition.
- 5:25Speaker 4: I think finals does that, guys.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Okay, So Gordie, thanks again for stepping in to help
- 5:29Speaker 1: us out. Liz is in outback Queensland. I believe I
- 5:32Speaker 1: saw it all.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Not yet.
- 5:34Speaker 2: They've still got one more day, she said. Evelyn's team's
- 5:36Speaker 2: going really well, undefeated. They've got four games to play
- 5:40Speaker 2: and at the moment at the top of the table,
- 5:41Speaker 2: she's really nervous.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Wow. Okay, it was huge just out of state titles
- 5:46Speaker 1: yesterday out at the junior state titles out at North Kellyville.
- 5:49Speaker 1: It is insane and a big shout out to Jess,
- 5:52Speaker 1: a young umpire who I met, who had just done
- 5:54Speaker 1: a sensational job and one of the parents was questioning
- 5:58Speaker 1: one of her calls and quite respectfully went they were
- 6:00Speaker 1: just asking her to clarify something and she just a
- 6:03Speaker 1: young woman, but she's just very clear on this is
- 6:06Speaker 1: what I do. And it's basically the placement of the penalty.
- 6:08Speaker 1: It's like I'll tell them where it is. I'll tell
- 6:10Speaker 1: them again where it is. If they get it wrong
- 6:12Speaker 1: a third time, then I'll reverse the penalty. And it's like,
- 6:14Speaker 1: that's so cool. And we've seen that in Supernepul this year.
- 6:18Speaker 2: I love how you found yourself a wing defense there
- 6:20Speaker 2: as well. I know Charlie Lambdon.
- 6:22Speaker 1: She's quite tall for a wing defense, I'd have to say,
- 6:25Speaker 1: but they all are, are they?
- 6:27Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 6:28Speaker 1: Tallermons, Yes, So thank you for stepping in. We were
- 6:34Speaker 1: Lizzy's heading away on a holiday on Saturday night. She
- 6:37Speaker 1: and the meat tray certainly looked like they were getting
- 6:39Speaker 1: into holiday mode at the game. I will say, but yeah,
- 6:42Speaker 1: Cash sent you a text message, didn't she did?
- 6:45Speaker 4: I got quite a frightening text message through what do
- 6:52Speaker 4: you want to share the text message? As you were
- 6:53Speaker 4: typing it.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Well, I said, can we confirm that we've got you
- 6:58Speaker 2: locked in? Or you're locked in for Monday? But I
- 7:01Speaker 2: had written licked and as soon as I'd written it
- 7:05Speaker 2: and send it.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Like what locked.
- 7:09Speaker 3: And I at the time was driving the car and
- 7:11Speaker 3: peak hour traffic and nearly went straight into the back
- 7:14Speaker 3: of the car in front of me.
- 7:15Speaker 4: I was I was whetting myself laughing.
- 7:18Speaker 3: I was like, Catherine, I do a lot of my
- 7:21Speaker 3: texting on that voice to text when I was driving
- 7:24Speaker 3: in the car, so like you always find time to
- 7:26Speaker 3: do extra work. I'm coming from work or whatever, and
- 7:28Speaker 3: it horrifies me, like you listen back to you, know,
- 7:31Speaker 3: like you check what you're gonna like you say what
- 7:33Speaker 3: you say and then it comes back to you and
- 7:35Speaker 3: I'm listening like, oh, for God's sake, no, anyhow, I reckon,
- 7:37Speaker 3: I might have done ten responses before I even got
- 7:41Speaker 3: back to you on that. I was trying to do
- 7:42Speaker 3: the predictive response to you because I was trying to
- 7:44Speaker 3: make it funny. And then how do you do how
- 7:46Speaker 3: do you tell the car to do a laughing emoji?
- 7:49Speaker 3: Because when I laughing emoji. It writes laughing emoji. I
- 7:53Speaker 3: was like, give up, give.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Us so But anyhow, fortunately Gordie did contact me and
- 7:58Speaker 1: asked whether we had a an HR department at No Dribble,
- 8:02Speaker 1: and I said, no, We're a fairly lean organization here.
- 8:05Speaker 2: I've been single for a while, granted, but I haven't
- 8:07Speaker 2: jumped ship. But I haven't swapped teams yet. Just so
- 8:09Speaker 2: you know, there's no licking going on. I've got a
- 8:14Speaker 2: very funny story to share with you too, though. So
- 8:16Speaker 2: we were both at the Swifts game obviously on Saturday night,
- 8:20Speaker 2: and I saw Carolyn in the crowd and gave her
- 8:22Speaker 2: a little wave. And the next minute I hear a
- 8:24Speaker 2: voice yelling at me and I look a bit to
- 8:25Speaker 2: the right and it's Harper. So you were quite close together. Anyway.
- 8:29Speaker 2: At the end of the game, I finally found Harps
- 8:32Speaker 2: amongst all the people and her friends and stuff, and
- 8:34Speaker 2: I said, oh, did you see Carolyn. She goes, oh, yeah, yeah,
- 8:37Speaker 2: I did, but she was on the big screen. She
- 8:39Speaker 2: was an octopus.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I was a jellyfish.
- 8:44Speaker 2: And I said, I think I'm going to need some
- 8:47Speaker 2: more information.
- 8:49Speaker 1: What So, in the breaks in play, they have the
- 8:52Speaker 1: sunglasses at night thing. These are just the short breaks
- 8:55Speaker 1: in play. So when there's a tactical timeout, because obviously
- 8:58Speaker 1: we will tear each other apart in the if we're
- 9:00Speaker 1: not entertained at every second, you know. So there's the
- 9:03Speaker 1: whoop whoops, and then the camera will focus in on
- 9:05Speaker 1: some people. And so Dotty's there, old older. This is
- 9:08Speaker 1: the twice a year I get my son to a game,
- 9:10Speaker 1: and he enjoys it every time. But at seventeen, he's
- 9:13Speaker 1: just not terrifically interested in family.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Not if they have a perfectly gills.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Yeah, well, he enjoys it when he's there. As I said,
- 9:20Speaker 1: so Mother's Day and then this was the last home
- 9:22Speaker 1: game and at school holidays, and I said, noe, we're
- 9:24Speaker 1: all going. And so Dotty sitting between Lewis and Pete
- 9:27Speaker 1: and I'm on the other side of Pete and she's
- 9:29Speaker 1: up there ready to Dad participate. He does not want
- 9:32Speaker 1: a bar of in his life. They might have got
- 9:36Speaker 1: the top of his head because he's looking at his phone.
- 9:38Speaker 1: And Dotty wanted Pete Knight to participate, but he was distracted.
- 9:42Speaker 1: And so I thought, I'll get up and do a
- 9:44Speaker 1: bit of jellyfishing and lo and behold. You know we
- 9:47Speaker 1: were up there Lewis's phone ping from friends of his
- 9:50Speaker 1: in the crowd saying I just saw your mother jish.
- 9:53Speaker 1: He was a great moment for everyone. I had Dribbler's
- 9:55Speaker 1: pointing it out.
- 9:56Speaker 2: So dying Harper gave me a little demo of what
- 9:59Speaker 2: you look like the jellyfish.
- 10:04Speaker 1: No one looks dignified as a jelly. But the trick is, kids,
- 10:09Speaker 1: if you want to get up on the big screen
- 10:11Speaker 1: at the Games, you have to wear the team colors
- 10:13Speaker 1: for starters you you've got to be the more match
- 10:16Speaker 1: that you can wear the better. But just make sure
- 10:18Speaker 1: you're in the team colors.
- 10:20Speaker 2: And do you know how true this is? Because somebody
- 10:21Speaker 2: told us pre Commonwealth Games and the opening ceremony that
- 10:25Speaker 2: if you want to get yourself on the screen, get
- 10:27Speaker 2: an Australian flag and maybe have like three of you
- 10:30Speaker 2: and hold it behind you because that's the kind of
- 10:33Speaker 2: vision they want. Sure enough, we were all over the
- 10:36Speaker 2: telecast because we had this Australian flag behind us. Ah.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I love these people with the inside.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Information that can make your famous friends of mine in
- 10:45Speaker 1: Darwin every year they have the Darwin can't a big
- 10:47Speaker 1: horse racers sort of maybe about the first of August
- 10:50Speaker 1: or first of July, I can't remember. But anyway, perfect
- 10:52Speaker 1: weather up in Darwin at this time of year, and
- 10:54Speaker 1: these two friends of mine had a goal. They wanted
- 10:57Speaker 1: to be on the front page of the NT News
- 10:59Speaker 1: that after the Darwin cut. So they got themselves right
- 11:03Speaker 1: at the finish line and they had the form guide
- 11:06Speaker 1: and they were standing there as.
- 11:07Speaker 2: The horses crissed, holding up the form guy.
- 11:10Speaker 1: And it absolutely worked because that's exactly what the photographer wanted.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Love it, love it.
- 11:16Speaker 3: I love when I'm sitting there cat and I'm commentating
- 11:19Speaker 3: and I look up on the big screen at rac
- 11:21Speaker 3: Arena and see my better half up there having a
- 11:23Speaker 3: wine drinking, playing all the party games, embarrassing.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Sydney that they do the Lion King, you know, the
- 11:33Speaker 2: people hold up their babies.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Yea, love it, Yeah, love it.
- 11:38Speaker 2: The oblivious cam is my favor because it's like some
- 11:41Speaker 2: people to sit in there picking their nose or shoving
- 11:43Speaker 2: chips in their face. I'm like completely unaware that.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I got doune A the Fever game because we had
- 11:50Speaker 1: to do the Macarena and grows on forever and I
- 11:53Speaker 1: got pinged halfway through the macarena, I thought I've done
- 11:56Speaker 1: enough Macarina now I'm ready to sit down, and then
- 12:00Speaker 1: you called me on. It's like, what are you doing
- 12:02Speaker 1: sitting down? Because the dribblers are taking photos and me
- 12:04Speaker 1: sitting down during the macarena.
- 12:05Speaker 3: It's like, I'm not I'm not a Macarina fan. I reckon,
- 12:16Speaker 3: I need to ditch that. I'll have a chat to
- 12:18Speaker 3: the Fever team about that.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Now. Let me ask you a question though. When you're
- 12:21Speaker 2: a skinful of booze, you're having a great night out,
- 12:24Speaker 2: You've got the tunes on and you're dancing, and it
- 12:26Speaker 2: comes on, you know I.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Just skinful of no, skinful of booze or not? Just
- 12:33Speaker 3: the macarena just doesn't float my boat. Oh what a night.
- 12:36Speaker 4: I'll be right up there.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Nice, Okay, So the macarena will get you off the dance.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Floor, Yeah, it's just cheesy, gets you.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Off any any other that comes on? I am gone.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Do you have a heartbeat?
- 12:51Speaker 2: I do not like abba?
- 12:53Speaker 3: What about give me, give me, give me, gimme, no, no,
- 12:56Speaker 3: even just stop.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Have you heard the dance version of it? Nah? I
- 13:03Speaker 4: just I'm sending it too.
- 13:05Speaker 1: I don't understand this.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I don't know. It's just this thing I have. But
- 13:11Speaker 2: if it ever comes on and I want to dance,
- 13:12Speaker 2: we'll having a good night. I'm they've ruined it and
- 13:15Speaker 2: I will walk off. I love Abba.
- 13:17Speaker 1: And in nineteen seventy seven, when Abba toured Australia, I
- 13:20Speaker 1: did not go, which is a great tragedy and neglect
- 13:24Speaker 1: by my parents. I'll have you know. I was eight
- 13:26Speaker 1: years old living in Brisbane. I don't think they came
- 13:28Speaker 1: to Brisbane, but I had this dream and I can
- 13:31Speaker 1: remember it now. So what is this Nearly forty years later,
- 13:34Speaker 1: I can remember this is one of the greatest dreams
- 13:36Speaker 1: of my life, that Abba came to my house. Yeah,
- 13:39Speaker 1: this is my culture, Catherine. What are you doing this thing?
- 13:41Speaker 2: What did they do when they came?
- 13:43Speaker 1: They just came to visit?
- 13:46Speaker 2: Did you offer them?
- 13:51Speaker 4: Do you know what? My very first album was Abba Arrival? Yeah?
- 13:55Speaker 1: Classic?
- 13:56Speaker 4: Remember that one? Yeah?
- 13:57Speaker 1: With the helicopter.
- 13:58Speaker 4: I just loved it. Do you have a fan at all?
- 14:01Speaker 4: Cats or you're just na Na?
- 14:03Speaker 2: You are looking at me with such distinct.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Not being your favorite. But I can't understand, Like Abba
- 14:11Speaker 1: comes on and you go that's it. I'm taking a seat.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I know, I don't interest what it is.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Do you not like Swedish people?
- 14:18Speaker 2: No, because I'm a bigger Oka fan.
- 14:25Speaker 4: Do you go the meatballs?
- 14:26Speaker 3: You know, the meat, the meatballs and gravy.
- 14:29Speaker 1: And I have quite a few friends from Finland who
- 14:36Speaker 1: claim that Swedish meatballs were invented in Finland. And it's like, well,
- 14:40Speaker 1: then they'd be called Finnish meatballs, right, it makes no sense,
- 14:44Speaker 1: but they are adamant that the Swedish meatball was invented
- 14:49Speaker 1: in Finland.
- 14:50Speaker 3: I don't think, okay, it gives a shit about that.
- 14:52Speaker 3: To be honest, meatballs.
- 14:58Speaker 1: We should talk about the netball, but I I think
- 15:00Speaker 1: it's been renamed. Last week when I was looking at
- 15:03Speaker 1: the transcript for the episode, the AI said instead of supernipple,
- 15:08Speaker 1: super nipple. So this super nipple super nipple? Did it really?
- 15:14Speaker 1: Oh gold, So we should talk a little bit about
- 15:17Speaker 1: the super nipple.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Now, hold on, what what did it say? Some called
- 15:20Speaker 4: super nipple nipple?
- 15:22Speaker 1: Okay, which is something that happened about forty eight hours
- 15:26Speaker 1: after I had my son. Did you have had one
- 15:29Speaker 1: super nipple? I had two supernipples. It's like, what the
- 15:32Speaker 1: hell has happened overnight?
- 15:33Speaker 2: So that's crazy, Stagy. No, you've got the big super nipples.
- 15:40Speaker 1: There are no secrets in.
- 15:41Speaker 4: No dribble world.
- 15:44Speaker 2: God, okay, well let's talk super nipple.
- 15:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Well I have to put my nipple covers on an
- 15:48Speaker 3: rac arena yesterday because they were pointing it was.
- 15:50Speaker 2: So coldly wished to us about being cold. Where Ken
- 15:55Speaker 2: Roswell arena, which is an actual eyespot is true? Yeah,
- 15:58Speaker 2: so let's get back to this Sydney. Then in the
- 16:00Speaker 2: lass box it was Kenrose lorena. Controversial, very controversial at
- 16:05Speaker 2: the end there. I didn't realize at all what was
- 16:10Speaker 2: playing out until well after the fact when all the
- 16:13Speaker 2: chats started. But in commentary, no one saw it, no
- 16:15Speaker 2: one noticed it. This is obviously the Steph Brett Walls
- 16:18Speaker 2: shot we're talking about right at the end of the game.
- 16:20Speaker 2: So it should have been a one pointer. They should
- 16:23Speaker 2: have gone to extra time. Who knows what would have
- 16:25Speaker 2: happened then. But even the question around Steph Frittwell's decision
- 16:29Speaker 2: to shoot a two instead of trying to get just
- 16:33Speaker 2: to one and send it to extra time, like that's
- 16:35Speaker 2: a ballsy move and it paid off for it. Well
- 16:38Speaker 2: it did, But what if it didn't.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Question though, like, was their foot not on the line?
- 16:42Speaker 2: No, So if you have a good look at it,
- 16:45Speaker 2: when she regathers, it's over and she must without looking down.
- 16:50Speaker 2: She's such a season campaigner. She moves it away and
- 16:54Speaker 2: then takes the shot, so it looks like it's a two.
- 16:58Speaker 2: But she was over line to start with.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Ah, because I replayed that a few times and I
- 17:03Speaker 3: thought her foot was just okay, it was definitely on
- 17:06Speaker 3: the black line.
- 17:07Speaker 4: I thought it was so hard.
- 17:08Speaker 2: We even have the two lines. That's all a little confusing,
- 17:11Speaker 2: isn't it.
- 17:12Speaker 3: There's a bit of history behind the lines, and like
- 17:14Speaker 3: it's a boring bit of detail, but probably not given
- 17:16Speaker 3: this circumstance.
- 17:17Speaker 4: But I think the lines.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Came about because, particularly the outside line, you couldn't tell
- 17:22Speaker 3: the difference between like putting your foot on the line
- 17:25Speaker 3: and putting your.
- 17:25Speaker 4: Foot into the supershot because it used to be a
- 17:27Speaker 4: white line.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you've got some caught supershot dcal being white.
- 17:30Speaker 4: So then they went black.
- 17:32Speaker 3: So then they put the black lines on the inside
- 17:34Speaker 3: and the outside so that the umpires could and the
- 17:36Speaker 3: players could clearly define what the line of the court is.
- 17:41Speaker 2: So the black line, though, is in in that's part
- 17:44Speaker 2: of the Supershot arc, right, Yeah, no, she was definitely
- 17:47Speaker 2: definitely over it.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I couldn't see anyhow well there go. But I mean,
- 17:52Speaker 3: like Spira thought for the umpire, who's trying to see
- 17:54Speaker 3: that in the moment, God helped me very difficult, oh totally,
- 17:56Speaker 3: because there was black shots, there was people pushing each other,
- 17:59Speaker 3: it was left right center.
- 18:00Speaker 2: But the decision to shoot the two, though, I thought,
- 18:03Speaker 2: was nuts. I mean, I probably would have done the
- 18:05Speaker 2: same thing in her shoes, but God knows what's going
- 18:09Speaker 2: through your head when you're counting the seconds down. You're
- 18:11Speaker 2: just trying to get to a scoreful stop. But I
- 18:14Speaker 2: just thought that was so ballsy because if they had missed,
- 18:17Speaker 2: that would have been their season all over.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Now.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, And you know what, I don't think
- 18:21Speaker 3: she would have been thinking that in the moment. But
- 18:23Speaker 3: what I did love about it was that Steph brett
- 18:25Speaker 3: Well actually locks in quite a lot of her step
- 18:28Speaker 3: back shot. So the fact that she was forced to
- 18:30Speaker 3: step back on that occasion probably put her in a
- 18:32Speaker 3: bit of her own comfort land.
- 18:33Speaker 4: You know.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Like, don't get me wrong, you can't say bad word
- 18:35Speaker 3: about Steph Brettwell to me. I'm not supposed to have favorites,
- 18:37Speaker 3: but I do. She just like I just reckon. There
- 18:40Speaker 3: was a huge weight of pressure on her shoulders last
- 18:42Speaker 3: week when they played the Fever, and there was a
- 18:44Speaker 3: little bit sett in commentary about it that she looked
- 18:47Speaker 3: a little bit disengaged at times, and she's been on
- 18:49Speaker 3: a bit of a kind of rollercoaster when you watch her,
- 18:52Speaker 3: and so I just thought in this game you could
- 18:54Speaker 3: tell when she was taking her shot. She was vastly
- 18:56Speaker 3: more purposeful this week than last week. And so I
- 18:59Speaker 3: kind of connect all of that and I go, well,
- 19:01Speaker 3: she just probably thought, stuff is I'm going for it.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Last week in supershot, accuracy wasn't that high either, So
- 19:07Speaker 1: it was just amazing that she just went just back
- 19:10Speaker 1: to sol. And there's some talk in the chat. You
- 19:13Speaker 1: see people are very divided about footgate and what that means,
- 19:16Speaker 1: but there was talk that Grace Weky took a goal
- 19:19Speaker 1: when the ball was out over the baseline and scored
- 19:22Speaker 1: a goal from it, And so you know, there's going
- 19:25Speaker 1: to be The reason we watch sport is so we
- 19:28Speaker 1: can have these conversations, and the reasons we watch it
- 19:30Speaker 1: is because we like the fact that It is completely
- 19:33Speaker 1: unpredictable that human beings can do miraculous things and change
- 19:37Speaker 1: things up. You know, we're not watching robots. We are
- 19:39Speaker 1: watching people.
- 19:40Speaker 2: And I love it. You know, I'm a.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Swift man, but I loved to see the Lightning go
- 19:48Speaker 1: this is our season, this is our night. And when
- 19:50Speaker 1: we came out into the beginning of the fourth quarter,
- 19:52Speaker 1: I thought, I reckon Lightning again, take this. I think
- 19:54Speaker 1: they really want it.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Good on them, do you know what I thought too? Though,
- 19:58Speaker 2: it's a little bit of their ball karma because of
- 20:00Speaker 2: the drawgate that was the Giants and the Lightning. Remember
- 20:04Speaker 2: last year, they could have put that game to bed,
- 20:06Speaker 2: but they didn't because they thought the game was going
- 20:08Speaker 2: to be drawn whatever in the time, remember, and they
- 20:11Speaker 2: lost the game. Net karma is a thing.
- 20:14Speaker 1: There were some people in the Facebook group talking about
- 20:16Speaker 1: how Lightning had that game taken off them last year
- 20:19Speaker 1: and that they'd won it. That was pretty clear actually
- 20:22Speaker 1: that they hadn't won it, but the scoreboard was wrong
- 20:24Speaker 1: at the end, and that's why the Giants stayed on court.
- 20:26Speaker 1: But we talk about these things, we're passionate about them.
- 20:30Speaker 1: It's very exciting.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I love it.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I guess the one question is, and I'm glad that
- 20:34Speaker 1: it's worked out the way it has, is that it
- 20:36Speaker 1: was raised. Well, if Lightning wins this game and it
- 20:39Speaker 1: chucks someone else out.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Of the four.
- 20:41Speaker 2: But the beauty of it is that.
- 20:43Speaker 1: The Thunderbirds and the Lightning Go Frightening have their fate
- 20:47Speaker 1: in their own hands. They're not relying on someone else.
- 20:51Speaker 1: It will come down to what they do in that game.
- 20:54Speaker 1: That will feel better and worse for them in some ways,
- 20:57Speaker 1: but it's well, this is you. Now, you get out
- 20:59Speaker 1: there and win your spot.
- 21:00Speaker 4: How ripping. We always go like, what's the season going
- 21:03Speaker 4: to look like?
- 21:03Speaker 3: And then we start off, Oh, the Swifts are killing
- 21:05Speaker 3: it and no one's going to beat them, and now
- 21:07Speaker 3: it's the Fever. But you still get round to fourteen
- 21:10Speaker 3: and there's so much to play out. The storylines are relieve,
- 21:13Speaker 3: even the Fever Vixen's game next week will have so
- 21:16Speaker 3: much on it.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Last game of the round.
- 21:18Speaker 3: The Vixens will want to win that to host the
- 21:21Speaker 3: Minus semi final, but.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Even if they lose, they can still hang on to
- 21:25Speaker 2: that third spot depending on who wins the other game.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Yeah, yes, extraordinary cool, love it, love it.
- 21:30Speaker 1: I would like to give a little bit of love
- 21:32Speaker 1: and we've not done this much in this podcast to
- 21:34Speaker 1: the Fiber. They came very close to winning that game.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Got yes in time game they were really fabulous.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Yep.
- 21:42Speaker 3: They're just working on one lesson and that is how
- 21:44Speaker 3: to win right now. They're finding their way to be
- 21:47Speaker 3: in the contest now, which if you go back to
- 21:50Speaker 3: after round two where they had the first really good
- 21:52Speaker 3: two rounds and then it went a bit pear shaped
- 21:54Speaker 3: and then they kind of weren't even in the contest,
- 21:56Speaker 3: and then they've been building and building and building, and
- 21:58Speaker 3: that's indicative of a new coach, new game plan, new
- 22:01Speaker 3: players like that, had quite a change to their list,
- 22:04Speaker 3: and then all of a sudden, I guess they're pulling
- 22:06Speaker 3: it all together. But there's still a team that doesn't
- 22:08Speaker 3: know how to win in the critical moments. And that
- 22:10Speaker 3: was pretty evident against the Vixen's yesterday, who chose the
- 22:12Speaker 3: right moment to surge.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, And we said that actually because we were
- 22:15Speaker 2: sitting there watching it just before we did pivot and
- 22:17Speaker 2: we're like, you know, the Vixen's.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Yeah, let me give you an update on the valand
- 22:24Speaker 1: Ribblers tip in comp because it is getting bloody exciting
- 22:26Speaker 1: too at this end of the season, So Fascinator is
- 22:29Speaker 1: still one in front. Now you'll remember I Prefer Quidditch
- 22:32Speaker 1: has been leading this competition for a very long time.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Bascinator went one in front last week. They both got
- 22:37Speaker 1: three out of four this week, So Fascinators on forty
- 22:40Speaker 1: eight points. There are four people including I Prefer Quidditch
- 22:43Speaker 1: on forty seven points. So this is coming down to
- 22:46Speaker 1: the y too. We do not know who will win this.
- 22:48Speaker 1: It could be a could be Fascinator, could be an
- 22:51Speaker 1: upset from here.
- 22:52Speaker 2: So how many pick lightning over swifts?
- 22:54Speaker 1: Twenty four percent of people flighting over swift, Yeah, and
- 22:57Speaker 1: twenty four percent of giants over fever. I thought that
- 23:00Speaker 1: was interesting. Only twenty percent of people picked firebirds over Vixen's.
- 23:04Speaker 1: And you're sitting in sixteenth place, Gordy, you are in
- 23:07Speaker 1: three hundred and eighteenth on the same points as I
- 23:10Speaker 1: am at three hundred and fiftieth, but your differential is better.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Melly our cella dweller our stallwart who has been coming
- 23:17Speaker 1: last for a long time in spite of tipping every
- 23:19Speaker 1: single week, got to this week's the record for who
- 23:27Speaker 1: but I love that sixteen people got bingo this week,
- 23:29Speaker 1: so sixteen people managed to.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Pick Bloody hell that it was hard to do freaks.
- 23:35Speaker 2: So Gordy looks like, well, it's out of you too,
- 23:38Speaker 2: who's buying lunch. It's not me, that's all.
- 23:42Speaker 1: It seems reasonable that Gordy gives us her time at
- 23:45Speaker 1: short notice. We asked to lick her in about much notice.
- 23:49Speaker 1: It seems reasonable that I will be buying bloody lunch
- 23:52Speaker 1: once again.
- 23:55Speaker 2: We wanted to do it Grand f weekend. We'll just
- 23:58Speaker 2: have to fit it in someway because otherwise the four
- 24:00Speaker 2: of us going to get together and.
- 24:01Speaker 3: We've just got to prioritize what's more important, lunch or
- 24:04Speaker 3: the Grand Final.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Well, you have to come to our live event obviously
- 24:08Speaker 2: on the Friday night as well, because people will be desperate.
- 24:11Speaker 4: To see you. I'd like to do that.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Then we'll have the Grand Final and then maybe we
- 24:15Speaker 2: need to have lunch on the Sunday.
- 24:17Speaker 3: That is a frightening thought for a lot of reasons
- 24:20Speaker 3: if Fever win. But that might just be a little
- 24:24Speaker 3: bit of it.
- 24:24Speaker 4: But yes, we can work on that, cat and we
- 24:26Speaker 4: can work on that.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Okay, great, So I want to talk about our Facebook
- 24:31Speaker 1: group because We've had to wrap a couple of people
- 24:33Speaker 1: on the head this week. So there's been some talk
- 24:36Speaker 1: about Casey Corpwa. She just brings the energy right. Everyone
- 24:39Speaker 1: loves watching her. It's great. She's had a really friendly
- 24:42Speaker 1: exchange with Janil on the weekend. Everyone was loving that.
- 24:45Speaker 2: She's in Bali today. Casey, yes, I know. She posted
- 24:49Speaker 2: a good morning Bali and a photo, so I messaged
- 24:52Speaker 2: way away. I was like, missus Corpora, please tell me
- 24:56Speaker 2: you're coming back still one more week for this week?
- 25:00Speaker 2: Is yeah, yeah, I am. But I'm assuming because they
- 25:02Speaker 2: played in Perth, she's thought she just pop over for
- 25:04Speaker 2: maybe a couple of days just chill, but she's going
- 25:07Speaker 2: to be back on.
- 25:08Speaker 4: The week on her own or with a family. Well,
- 25:10Speaker 4: I assume the fat that's extraordinary.
- 25:12Speaker 1: So they're back in Sydney this weekend.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Yeah, should we refreshed?
- 25:16Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 25:16Speaker 1: That is well, look, if anyone can manage it, it's
- 25:19Speaker 1: her thirty year old woman with three children deciding yet
- 25:22Speaker 1: sure I will make her return to professional netword And
- 25:26Speaker 1: doesn't she just look like she's having a great time.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I love it.
- 25:28Speaker 1: But anyway, so, in talking about the exchange between she
- 25:31Speaker 1: and Janelle and how charming and fun. That was then
- 25:34Speaker 1: there was a contrast to the previous week when they
- 25:37Speaker 1: played the Vixens, and that Sophie wasn't Sophie Garbin wasn't
- 25:41Speaker 1: as willing to exchange with it. And you know, I
- 25:45Speaker 1: would like us all when we make a comment on
- 25:47Speaker 1: the Facebook group, to make a comment as though that
- 25:50Speaker 1: person was in the room, because it's very easy for
- 25:53Speaker 1: us to think we know Sophie Garbin because we see
- 25:57Speaker 1: her play. But let's remember these young women who may
- 26:00Speaker 1: be in the Facebook group, their mothers might be in.
- 26:02Speaker 2: The Facebook group.
- 26:03Speaker 1: They are under enormous pressure. If you are a diamond
- 26:07Speaker 1: shooter looking at Diamonds selection coming up soon, if you
- 26:10Speaker 1: are in a team who was in the Grand Final
- 26:12Speaker 1: last year and your season might be on the line.
- 26:15Speaker 1: If you are just focused on your job, you might
- 26:17Speaker 1: not be as keen for a chat. And also, just
- 26:20Speaker 1: because you're a red hot netball player doesn't necessarily mean
- 26:24Speaker 1: that you are a razzle dazzle personality. Some people are
- 26:26Speaker 1: some people. I don't know, Sophie, but it's like, Christ,
- 26:29Speaker 1: can we just type with compassion?
- 26:32Speaker 4: Am.
- 26:32Speaker 2: I actually saw that interaction and it was bloody loud
- 26:36Speaker 2: in the stadium, Casey had said it and Sophie was
- 26:39Speaker 2: looking forward. Sophie didn't even hear it. I reckon, it's
- 26:43Speaker 2: just completely beat up anyway. Well, you're right, everything you
- 26:45Speaker 2: said is yeah, but it's also so freaking loud in
- 26:49Speaker 2: those stadiums. I don't know how anybody hears anything.
- 26:52Speaker 4: Even so, though, don't you reckon it?
- 26:54Speaker 3: I mean, I saw Sophie Garvin with game face on,
- 26:57Speaker 3: like you know, some players don't need to say hellow
- 26:59Speaker 3: to each other, and I was sort of putting myself
- 27:01Speaker 3: in that position to be blatantly honest with you. I
- 27:04Speaker 3: don't think I would have said a load of Casey
- 27:05Speaker 3: corpuur right, Like, if you think about the timing of
- 27:09Speaker 3: that game, Vixen's had things to prove, and Sophie Garbin's
- 27:13Speaker 3: coming up against one of the greatest that the game
- 27:16Speaker 3: has ever produced, never played on her in history, has
- 27:19Speaker 3: probably maybe indulged in a bit of reading throughout the
- 27:22Speaker 3: week and realized, who's this person coming in, probably very
- 27:26Speaker 3: nervous about coming up against her and not knowing a
- 27:28Speaker 3: great deal about her, and just gets her game face on,
- 27:31Speaker 3: like we should not, Like, don't ever judge anyone for
- 27:34Speaker 3: the way they are in a court, whether they shake
- 27:36Speaker 3: hands or not. We could run a highlights real girls
- 27:39Speaker 3: of players not shaking hands, not hugging. I know no
- 27:42Speaker 3: one shook Courtney Bruce's hand from fever after the first
- 27:45Speaker 3: game when she left the club.
- 27:47Speaker 4: That's their choice. So be it at sports Day. Get
- 27:49Speaker 4: on with it.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Yeah, seeing it's sister.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I think it's a genius strategy from Casey though, to
- 27:54Speaker 1: be super friendly, because if she would have been counter
- 27:56Speaker 1: someone like me on court, obviously she'd be terrifying. But
- 27:59Speaker 1: she'd be wanting me off my game. And I'm so
- 28:02Speaker 1: easily distractable. That's are we on for a chat? Do
- 28:04Speaker 1: you want to have a laugh?
- 28:05Speaker 2: It's ship?
- 28:06Speaker 1: Are we playing netble? So you know, and maybe Sophie
- 28:09Speaker 1: knows that that. It's like, I'm not here to be distracted.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I'm here to focus on one thing. Yeah, But I
- 28:15Speaker 1: just would really like us to remember that the Facebook
- 28:19Speaker 1: group is a public space where people read stuff and
- 28:22Speaker 1: people have feelings. I want us to lead the way
- 28:25Speaker 1: in good behaviors as a Facebook group.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Bring it on, Bring it on. I was still talking Nepplock,
- 28:34Speaker 2: Can I do show until?
- 28:38Speaker 4: What are you going to show? You? Catherine worries me.
- 28:41Speaker 2: It's not my big super nipples.
- 28:44Speaker 4: Thank Christ.
- 28:45Speaker 2: This was in the shop, so you know, I'm a
- 28:47Speaker 2: big fan of the bad. You know, there's a bit
- 28:51Speaker 2: of halloomy. This milk I found to Gordian sweet and
- 28:56Speaker 2: condensed co canut milk.
- 28:59Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the winner, right, that is a winner.
- 29:02Speaker 2: This is such a winning you know what's annoying though?
- 29:04Speaker 2: It's got no tab. You know, they normally have the
- 29:06Speaker 2: things that it's going in an old school can opener.
- 29:09Speaker 1: You need one of those ones with just the triangle
- 29:11Speaker 1: that you're pressing out of it. You could pause straight out.
- 29:15Speaker 3: You need the one that mum and dad you just
- 29:17Speaker 3: have that one that you know you drilled onto the
- 29:19Speaker 3: side of your wall and then your tin magnetically held
- 29:22Speaker 3: it and then you wound it the madgie.
- 29:24Speaker 2: I've got magic can in my head. Is that what
- 29:26Speaker 2: that thing was? Yeah? Yeah, oh my god?
- 29:29Speaker 4: So how what do we do?
- 29:30Speaker 2: Because I really want to try on it, and I
- 29:32Speaker 2: want you to have to try it too, because you're
- 29:33Speaker 2: pulling your face like you'd rather poke your eyes to.
- 29:36Speaker 4: Listen to ye with coconut.
- 29:38Speaker 1: I love coconut. I'm not a big contensed milkman.
- 29:42Speaker 4: Lovely.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Can I tell you that's something quite embarrassing that happened
- 29:45Speaker 1: to me this week while I can open. A few
- 29:48Speaker 1: months ago, I got approached to do a small role
- 29:51Speaker 1: in a variety show that was on the ABC on
- 29:54Speaker 1: Saturday night for Nate Doc Week. I was very excited
- 29:56Speaker 1: about it. Went into the ABC, all the hair, makeup,
- 29:59Speaker 1: It was reasonable, paid, reasonably well for it was a
- 30:01Speaker 1: lot of fun. So last week I wasn't able to
- 30:03Speaker 1: go to the live screening of it, so they did
- 30:05Speaker 1: a so we were filming these skits and then there
- 30:08Speaker 1: was a live show that they did with music and
- 30:10Speaker 1: Mannie Dingo was hosting Isaac Crompton and it was great,
- 30:14Speaker 1: but I wasn't able to go because we.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Were in Europe.
- 30:16Speaker 1: So what I didn't learn by going to the live
- 30:19Speaker 1: taping was that sometimes even big stars like me and
- 30:24Speaker 1: Kevin Costnark get left on.
- 30:25Speaker 2: The cutting room floor.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Last week, I'm making a big deal on social media,
- 30:29Speaker 1: Hey everyone watched this thing. And then I'm back and
- 30:32Speaker 1: forth between the netball and looking at it and think
- 30:34Speaker 1: I haven't seen it.
- 30:35Speaker 2: I haven't seen it.
- 30:35Speaker 1: And then at the end I watched the whole thing
- 30:38Speaker 1: through because I was obviously more interested in the network site.
- 30:41Speaker 1: The bustards cut me entirely out.
- 30:45Speaker 4: No, no, why.
- 30:50Speaker 1: So yeah, So that was embarrassing. And then it was like,
- 30:53Speaker 1: do I pretend it never happened and just take the
- 30:55Speaker 1: post down, or do I face it se put a
- 31:00Speaker 1: paste up listing all of the other famous actors who
- 31:03Speaker 1: have been left on the cutting room floor.
- 31:06Speaker 3: That's so awkward, And the first time you find out
- 31:10Speaker 3: about it is actually watching the show.
- 31:12Speaker 4: So you go in and you do all of this
- 31:13Speaker 4: and then you don't know. Yeah, oh that's even worse.
- 31:16Speaker 1: But even better. So I didn't go to the live taping,
- 31:18Speaker 1: but a bunch of my comedian mates went along and
- 31:21Speaker 1: they put some social media stuff up and they went.
- 31:23Speaker 4: Oh, this is so we've got this.
- 31:24Speaker 1: We went to the life taping of this and we
- 31:26Speaker 1: saw Isaac comptinence, Elis after ben caution and Conchetta crusto,
- 31:31Speaker 1: and I went, oh, and me not, I'm sorry.
- 31:35Speaker 4: Oh got to own own those moments.
- 31:38Speaker 3: I do that in commentary all the time, where my
- 31:39Speaker 3: English goes out the door and I make up my
- 31:42Speaker 3: own words and then you just own it. And I
- 31:44Speaker 3: shout out to missus nusus O'Neill, who was my English
- 31:47Speaker 3: teacher in high school who I hated, and rightly.
- 31:51Speaker 2: So here we go. We're trying to condensed meal. Guys,
- 31:59Speaker 2: cocon up. It's bloody delicious, is it?
- 32:04Speaker 4: Is it? Great?
- 32:05Speaker 2: Buddy?
- 32:06Speaker 4: Oh my god, I'm going to send rose out right
- 32:09Speaker 4: now for some It.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Tastes like barley.
- 32:11Speaker 2: You should get some good. If you can't get oh, okay, god.
- 32:17Speaker 4: How much of that will you eat? Right now?
- 32:19Speaker 2: I'm going to have one more spoon and then I'm
- 32:21Speaker 2: going to put the whole thing in the bin. Now
- 32:23Speaker 2: I'll leave it here. Lewis like that. Do you know?
- 32:25Speaker 1: When I was giving up smoking, I wanted to do
- 32:27Speaker 1: the shrove packets of cigarettes in the bin, and then
- 32:30Speaker 1: I had to I worked out that I actually have
- 32:32Speaker 1: to go. I have to run these underwater, and I
- 32:35Speaker 1: have to just put anything disgusting on them, because out
- 32:38Speaker 1: of the bin i'd get them. I'd get a packet
- 32:40Speaker 1: of cigarettes out of the garbage. Smoke it, Okay, this
- 32:43Speaker 1: is no dignity in that. Don't smoke everyone.
- 32:48Speaker 3: I've just got a great vision of Carolyn in a
- 32:50Speaker 3: green bin with her legs hanging out at the top.
- 32:52Speaker 4: I'm like, can you imagine it, I've.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Fully in grabbing, hanging out.
- 33:01Speaker 1: So funny.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Okay, I'm having another spoon, three spoons.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Oh all right, Well look that's all we've got time
- 33:09Speaker 1: for now. Susan needs to go and be involved in
- 33:12Speaker 1: coaching some minor premiers towards what's looking like a premiership
- 33:16Speaker 1: to me.
- 33:16Speaker 4: But you know, long way finals does funny things.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Still a next hit. The assistant coach for the Swoos
- 33:23Speaker 2: was on pivot and I said to him, I mean,
- 33:25Speaker 2: between now and then, who cares. You're in the finals.
- 33:28Speaker 2: It is a different beast once you get there. You've
- 33:31Speaker 2: just got to beat whoever it is on the day.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Got to be able to turn up and deliver what
- 33:34Speaker 4: you're currently delivering.
- 33:35Speaker 3: So it's nice to know that potentially what you're currently doing,
- 33:38Speaker 3: if you get it right in the finals period, it.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Might get the result you want. Still, got to be
- 33:43Speaker 4: able to do that under a different level of pressure.
- 33:46Speaker 3: So like within reason, you know, having the successive fever
- 33:50Speaker 3: at the moment puts him in an unbelievable position. Don't
- 33:52Speaker 3: get me wrong, no excuses, but the reality of it is,
- 33:54Speaker 3: just got to turn up on the day no.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Matter what, and ideally not all sick like your team
- 33:59Speaker 2: has been this week.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Yeah. Correct?
- 34:00Speaker 2: Did I hear you saying commentary yesterday that you've won
- 34:03Speaker 2: at home by an average of thirteen points this season?
- 34:06Speaker 3: Jee, I'll be fourteen, I think now, Yeah the last
- 34:08Speaker 3: We've won fifteen of seventeen games at home by an
- 34:10Speaker 3: average winning margin of fourteen goals.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Wow.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Wow, as Swindle just goes back into the condensy.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I've just had my second. I thought that was possible
- 34:19Speaker 1: that I would go back for more of that.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Can I just give you a little tip? Don't go
- 34:22Speaker 2: a third?
- 34:22Speaker 4: But sick?
- 34:24Speaker 1: I can already feel a little bit sick. Actually after
- 34:26Speaker 1: the second one, Gordie, can you come back and join
- 34:30Speaker 1: us next week?
- 34:31Speaker 4: I will same time.
- 34:33Speaker 1: That's awesome, so great to have you here. And yeah,
- 34:37Speaker 1: what I just I can't believe this competition. It is
- 34:40Speaker 1: so exciting and we are down to the wire. We
- 34:43Speaker 1: do not know who the four finalists are. We know
- 34:46Speaker 1: we know three of them, right, we do not know
- 34:48Speaker 1: the fourth one. Thunderbirds and Lightning.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Very very frightening.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Yes, I said, I just wish you all well this week.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Fans of the Thunderbirds and the Lightning. Good luck, Yeah,
- 34:58Speaker 1: good luck?
- 34:59Speaker 2: Who wins Adelaide. Now I reckon it's Tea Birds, and
- 35:02Speaker 2: I say easily because it's in Adelaide. Lightning's on the
- 35:05Speaker 2: road again.
- 35:05Speaker 4: So I can I just give it. I'll just do
- 35:08Speaker 4: my theory behind Adelaide.
- 35:09Speaker 3: Lightning have always found a way to beat the Thunderbirds.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Go back a couple of years. In critical games, it's
- 35:16Speaker 3: the Lightning that have come up with it. I've been
- 35:19Speaker 3: the only team that beat the Thunderbirds, and I think
- 35:22Speaker 3: from memory it was always that frett Well and Conan
- 35:25Speaker 3: could find a way in the circle to beat Shamiras
- 35:28Speaker 3: Deling Humphrey and Latanya Wilson. However, I actually think that
- 35:33Speaker 3: Latanna Wilson and Matilda Garrett are a better combination on
- 35:37Speaker 3: fret Well and.
- 35:38Speaker 4: Conean, which is why I think will win.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Interesting one, isn't it, because you'd never say that about
- 35:44Speaker 3: Shamira's Deeling Humphrey. But they just found a way to
- 35:48Speaker 3: keep the ball low and keep it moving inside the circle.
- 35:52Speaker 3: But Tilly Garrett, she's just I think she's one of
- 35:54Speaker 3: the best taggers in the game. And well, you know
- 35:57Speaker 3: Latania Wilson's Latonia Wilson right, he was inside.
- 36:00Speaker 2: So yeah, so we're all sayingbirds. Yeah, I think we've
- 36:04Speaker 2: also got Georgie Harges with a thumb injury. I think
- 36:06Speaker 2: she dissipated it on the weekend. Lauren Frew's not been
- 36:09Speaker 2: in great form and he played like twenty minutes on
- 36:11Speaker 2: the weekend.
- 36:12Speaker 4: So I mean.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Latania Wilson's in serious beast mode and smashing everybody. She's
- 36:16Speaker 2: got enough there to play for six other people.
- 36:18Speaker 4: So and no, Courtney Bruce for Lightning did a calf and.
- 36:22Speaker 2: That doesn't look good. She's not going to be back
- 36:24Speaker 2: this week. She was on crutches. Well, Kara played a
- 36:27Speaker 2: little sixty minutes, so you'd assume she's okay.
- 36:30Speaker 1: How do you go from crutches to playing a full
- 36:32Speaker 1: se Well.
- 36:32Speaker 2: I think she might have had plant of fasciitis or
- 36:35Speaker 2: something rather, and I think it gets to a point
- 36:37Speaker 2: where it snaps or it fully releases, right, And I
- 36:41Speaker 2: heard a rumor maybe that that's what's happened. So now
- 36:44Speaker 2: she's not feeling the pain as much.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Anyone that's had plan of fash will be absolutely feeling
- 36:51Speaker 3: squirmish listening to this right now.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Yeah, is that true?
- 36:54Speaker 4: Though?
- 36:54Speaker 2: It gets to the point where it snaps or it
- 36:56Speaker 2: releases or something.
- 36:57Speaker 4: Well, I don't know if it snaps. I don't know
- 36:58Speaker 4: if you can keep playing. I don't know. I've had
- 37:01Speaker 4: plan of fash but it never snapped.
- 37:02Speaker 1: But I've had it for six months and it's very painful,
- 37:06Speaker 1: but I haven't.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Not Maybe I just made all of that up now.
- 37:11Speaker 2: I don't do the truth and have a good story
- 37:13Speaker 2: the truth, Catherine.
- 37:16Speaker 1: People don't come to my dribble for the facts. I
- 37:18Speaker 1: can't good stories about the Swedish meatballs.
- 37:21Speaker 2: And the super Nipples dribbles, but they dribbles.
- 37:27Speaker 4: Well.
