- 0:01Speaker 1: Jerey, Katie and Josh makes one hundred.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I guess thoughts and prayers this morning. Thoughts and prayers
- 0:07Speaker 2: to Katie's one eyed mother, Oh, who has become quite
- 0:11Speaker 2: the character on this show.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Though she doesn't like that.
- 0:16Speaker 3: She doesn't like it, but I mean she's got one eye.
- 0:18Speaker 2: That's how we've all come to love her and adore
- 0:21Speaker 2: her because she's got one eye.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Come on, but yes, we'll make sure you need.
- 0:27Speaker 1: You went through it this weekend. Jeremy, Well, how happened?
- 0:29Speaker 1: So my mom loves to camp, and she's such an
- 0:32Speaker 1: active person. I worry about her sometimes with all the
- 0:36Speaker 1: activity that she does. But she loves to camp. She
- 0:39Speaker 1: goes camping with her friends a lot in the summer.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And so she was out camping and at like eleven
- 0:44Speaker 1: o'clock at night, went to go use the porta potty essentially,
- 0:48Speaker 1: right whatever. Yeah, Like it's an actual little bathroom though
- 0:52Speaker 1: that you walk into and there's a toilet and stuff,
- 0:54Speaker 1: so it's not just a little it is, like yeah,
- 0:56Speaker 1: But so she walks in there, immediately slips, falls, cracks
- 1:02Speaker 1: her head on the concrete toilet, and then so she
- 1:06Speaker 1: doesn't hurt the back of her head, she puts her
- 1:09Speaker 1: hand behind her head so it doesn't crack on the floor.
- 1:12Speaker 1: She broke a wrist, did she really? My mom is
- 1:15Speaker 1: a barber. Yeah, and she just broke her left wrist
- 1:19Speaker 1: in March.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Why does she do that?
- 1:20Speaker 1: She again fell and so she just broke her left
- 1:24Speaker 1: wrist in March and that was just slowly healing again.
- 1:27Speaker 1: She cuts hair for a living.
- 1:29Speaker 3: This is bad news.
- 1:30Speaker 1: She had to take time off when the left wrist broke.
- 1:33Speaker 1: It was just finally becoming better. And then she breaks
- 1:37Speaker 1: her right wrist. Her dominance she do, so she's gonna
- 1:40Speaker 1: be out of work for a couple months now.
- 1:42Speaker 3: She have somebody that can help her cut hair.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Great brother has to take care of her.
- 1:46Speaker 3: She start cutting hair, cut hair.
- 1:48Speaker 1: No, she's gonna lose out on some money. And we're
- 1:50Speaker 1: kind of concerned about my mom right now in that regard.
- 1:52Speaker 1: But thankfully my brother's gonna be there to help take
- 1:55Speaker 1: care of certain things that because here's the thing I
- 1:58Speaker 1: didn't realize this. My mom's like, yeah, my friend Holly
- 2:00Speaker 1: is gonna come over and help me put my bra
- 2:02Speaker 1: on on tonight. She's gonna come back on Tuesday and
- 2:07Speaker 1: help me put it on again. And I was like, wait,
- 2:09Speaker 1: you're just gonna keep your bra on that whole time. Mom,
- 2:12Speaker 1: She's like, I kind of have to when this happens,
- 2:15Speaker 1: you can't. But even that you can't, there's so many
- 2:18Speaker 1: things that she her left wrist is barely better. Yeah,
- 2:22Speaker 1: but here's the thing. She was of all the things.
- 2:24Speaker 1: She's like, I can't cook, you know, like they're having
- 2:27Speaker 1: to like eat a lot of things that are already prepared,
- 2:30Speaker 1: which my mom hates. Like she's just like all of
- 2:33Speaker 1: these things. She can't reach. Things like because there's.
- 2:38Speaker 2: So much she can't button your hands, she can't button
- 2:41Speaker 2: her paste.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Did you think about restaurants?
- 2:44Speaker 1: It's so funny because this did come up where she
- 2:47Speaker 1: was like, I can wipe my own butt.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Okay, she's got that going on.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I said, thank god, and then audibly in the background,
- 2:55Speaker 1: I heard my brother, thank.
- 2:57Speaker 3: God, what do you do in that situation? Got to
- 3:00Speaker 3: help mom out?
- 3:00Speaker 1: I guess he's the one taking care of her. And
- 3:02Speaker 1: I'm just so grateful. I have the best brother on
- 3:05Speaker 1: the planet, and it's in cases like this that we
- 3:08Speaker 1: really see it. I mean, Babba, he's the best. There's
- 3:11Speaker 1: no bad Bubba.
- 3:12Speaker 2: You guys starting to have some hard conversations about your mom.
- 3:15Speaker 1: This was such an eye opener because I am just like,
- 3:19Speaker 1: what do you mean you fell again? I get it,
- 3:22Speaker 1: like again, I know again, and.
- 3:24Speaker 3: It's time to have some conversations.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I have never, ever, ever worried about my mom because
- 3:28Speaker 1: she's the healthiest person in the family. Like she's the
- 3:31Speaker 1: oldest of all of her siblings, and she's in the
- 3:34Speaker 1: best shape of everybody. Like my mom works out every day.
- 3:37Speaker 1: She you know, drinks fiber shakes for breakfast.
- 3:40Speaker 4: My mom is known, thank god, my brother said about
- 3:48Speaker 4: my mom is known for saying the skin of the
- 3:51Speaker 4: apple that that's a treat when she eats the or
- 3:54Speaker 4: she only eats the skin of the apple, and then
- 3:56Speaker 4: when she eats the actual.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Fruit, that's a treat for her because that's the extra sugar.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Like my mom's like that. She's so healthy. So I've
- 4:03Speaker 1: never worried about her in the sense of she's gonna
- 4:06Speaker 1: be She's gonna be okay, it's gonna be fine. It's
- 4:10Speaker 1: her wrist, so I like, you know, but when you
- 4:13Speaker 1: start getting older, you know, your bones.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Like takes longer to hear. You're definitely more fragile. She's
- 4:20Speaker 2: gonna bruise, like crazy.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah, they here.
- 4:23Speaker 3: She's gonna look bad.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Her face is all busted up.
- 4:26Speaker 3: My look so bad.
- 4:27Speaker 1: My brother said. She came home. This happened Friday night.
- 4:30Speaker 1: She's still camped with all of her friends until Sunday.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Cause she's to go to Chico too. You want to.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Quote rude the vibe, You need to go to the hospital.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Her whole face is covered in bruises. And if she
- 4:45Speaker 1: broke her no, she went, she went to the doctor.
- 4:49Speaker 1: She got the whole concussion proto call. But like she
- 4:52Speaker 1: walked in the door. Didn't even call my brother, And
- 4:55Speaker 1: so she walks in the door, and he's like, what
- 4:58Speaker 1: happened to you.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Fail in an out house? No big deal. Life goes on.
- 5:05Speaker 1: She's a hardy North She's as hearty as all get out.
- 5:09Speaker 3: She's gonna bounce back.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, she sure will. But it is you're right,
- 5:14Speaker 1: It kind of just like.
- 5:15Speaker 3: What you probably should start. Is it just your brother?
- 5:18Speaker 3: Do you have? You have your sister? You have the
- 5:20Speaker 3: more successful sister.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Four of us. Okay, yeah, and why.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Are you from Yeah, she's super successful.
- 5:27Speaker 2: So you guys should probably sit down and have a
- 5:29Speaker 2: conversation about what he did to what's going on with
- 5:32Speaker 2: your mom? And like, if you're gonna have to ship
- 5:34Speaker 2: her out here, she might have to live with you,
- 5:36Speaker 2: I know, because you're you got nothing else. You're single,
- 5:40Speaker 2: like you can your other your other siblings are really
- 5:45Speaker 2: busy and they have families.
- 5:46Speaker 1: And he need a pretty picture for me, aren't you.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Yeah, you might have to adopt your mother and have
- 5:51Speaker 3: her at the house. Why wouldn't you You could.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Bring her in on a daily basis, if you could,
- 5:55Speaker 2: like look at her fake guy and stuff, it'll be awesome.
- 5:57Speaker 1: At least she wipes her own But quick question.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Did when she fell? Did the ipop out? No?
- 6:03Speaker 1: Stop it, Jeremy, Why is that your question?
- 6:06Speaker 2: You feel like if you hit hard that I flew
- 6:08Speaker 2: in the forest, She'll just doing fine in the forest somewhere.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Oh ladies, ladies, ladies, I have a question for you, Katie.
- 6:20Speaker 3: I think you're a lady.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Right Yeah, Well, Jeremy, she does a lot of scratching
- 6:25Speaker 2: and bourpen and farten.
- 6:26Speaker 3: It's fitting.
- 6:26Speaker 1: But shut up, ladies.
- 6:29Speaker 2: At what age do you all morph into crazy plant?
- 6:34Speaker 3: Ladies?
- 6:35Speaker 1: Oh?
- 6:35Speaker 3: What age is that? Because I think Nick Knack is.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Is there is that happening?
- 6:40Speaker 2: It's happening in my house. Over time I turn around,
- 6:45Speaker 2: there's another plant popping up in the house. How many
- 6:48Speaker 2: little gnats we got fling around life?
- 6:51Speaker 1: That's the thing is they bring the bugs you got.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't overwater the you can't underwater them. There's
- 6:57Speaker 2: all sorts of rules. I joke, my house is not
- 7:00Speaker 2: disgusting like that, but every now and then there's like
- 7:03Speaker 2: a gnat flying them around and I'm like, mooney.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Plant, that's what it is. I went upstairs last night
- 7:11Speaker 3: and in the master bathroom there's a ledge and there's
- 7:16Speaker 3: like a four foot tall plant out of nowhere on
- 7:20Speaker 3: this ledge, and I'm like, where the hell did this
- 7:23Speaker 3: come from?
- 7:23Speaker 1: And I'm sure it scared you at first he thought
- 7:25Speaker 1: it was a person. Yeah.
- 7:26Speaker 2: I was like yeah, And I went over and like
- 7:29Speaker 2: squeezed and looked. I was like, no, this is it's
- 7:31Speaker 2: another plant in the house.
- 7:33Speaker 3: And I was like, no, cool, nick knack.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And she said, well, it's a rescue it's her rescue plant,
- 7:39Speaker 2: the rescue plant.
- 7:40Speaker 3: It's a rescue plant.
- 7:41Speaker 2: She was in Sam's Club and all these plants were
- 7:44Speaker 2: on clearance for ten dollars and they were shoved way
- 7:47Speaker 2: in the back in the dark and they weren't getting
- 7:50Speaker 2: sold she so she said she had.
- 7:51Speaker 3: To rescue it. It was her rescue plant.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Sounds like baby Nana has eighty seven plants.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Oh my god, that's two men room and.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Then out in like the laundry room area because she
- 8:03Speaker 1: has the basement where she lives. So in just the basement,
- 8:06Speaker 1: do you walk around, maybe Nana has eighty seven plants
- 8:09Speaker 1: within that.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Little It's too much maintenance and water.
- 8:12Speaker 1: But she loves it. Like once a week she does
- 8:15Speaker 1: her plants like she waters and takes care of her plants.
- 8:18Speaker 1: And she tries to give me rescue plants.
- 8:20Speaker 3: And I'm like, you know that that you'll kill.
- 8:22Speaker 1: It, tragic death for them.
- 8:25Speaker 3: You're really busy.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I killed an airplant once, Like, yeah, you just killed
- 8:29Speaker 1: the succulent accidentally. You're so easy.
- 8:32Speaker 3: I care? Does she not like all these plants get along?
- 8:35Speaker 2: Because can you put like certain species of plants with
- 8:38Speaker 2: other species? Do they fight or they do they release
- 8:40Speaker 2: chemicals and try to kill each other?
- 8:42Speaker 1: When I understand all plants get along. So really it's
- 8:46Speaker 1: all this one inclusive plant community.
- 8:48Speaker 2: So she's starting early because she's young. She's a z right,
- 8:52Speaker 2: this is one of those.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Little grandma habits that little gen z Ors do.
- 8:55Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, starting really after she's.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Done taking care of her plants, she crochetes.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Wait till she's my wife, says she's going to be
- 9:03Speaker 2: living in a greenhouse.
- 9:05Speaker 3: She's gonna morph.
- 9:06Speaker 2: So gave a shout out to our teachers and students
- 9:09Speaker 2: a little bit ago from Adam's twelve school District and
- 9:12Speaker 2: Littleton Public schools all going back to school today, hopping
- 9:17Speaker 2: on those buses, hanging out in the carpool lanes, wondering
- 9:21Speaker 2: if they're gonna have pigs in a blanket for lunch.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Congratulations to all the kiddos heading back.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Andrea also wrote in and said, give a shout out
- 9:28Speaker 2: to the Jeffco teachers because they're headed back in today
- 9:31Speaker 2: to get some things done, get those bullets and boards
- 9:34Speaker 2: in order.
- 9:35Speaker 3: So shout out to our teachers and jeff Co heading
- 9:38Speaker 3: back today.
- 9:38Speaker 2: We appreciate you guys so darn much. Katie had a
- 9:42Speaker 2: story the other day about the hardest grade that you'll
- 9:44Speaker 2: ever attend in school.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Yeah, so if you have a kiddo that's getting ready
- 9:49Speaker 1: to go back into third grade, maybe.
- 9:54Speaker 3: That's the hardest one.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah, a little extra attention. And here's why they break
- 9:58Speaker 1: it down pretty easily. They talk about how third grade
- 10:01Speaker 1: can bring big emotions because kids are growing socially, but
- 10:06Speaker 1: they're still still tru trying to learn how to manage
- 10:09Speaker 1: their feelings, so they're out there. Well exactly. Here's the
- 10:14Speaker 1: thing is a lot with third graders. You may seem
- 10:16Speaker 1: them overconfident at one point because they're trying to overcompensate
- 10:20Speaker 1: for not knowing how to do things right, but over
- 10:24Speaker 1: overwhelm the next. So it's it's really hard. That grade
- 10:27Speaker 1: is really hard to really kind of navigate. I think
- 10:30Speaker 1: it is. I agree that.
- 10:31Speaker 3: We've got a third learning long division.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Well no, it's like the fact that they have to
- 10:36Speaker 1: learn how to be a little human, but they're still
- 10:38Speaker 1: trying to figure out how to do it, like there's
- 10:41Speaker 1: no textbooks, I know. But then they're also learning how
- 10:46Speaker 1: to become friends with people, how to develop their own personality.
- 10:49Speaker 1: There's a lot that happens into things.
- 10:51Speaker 3: I didn't realize that third grade I love.
- 10:53Speaker 1: It's very vivid in my brain, like it's my favorite teacher,
- 10:58Speaker 1: mister Thompson. He was the teacher who called me Katie.
- 11:01Speaker 1: All the other teachers called me by my real government name, Katrina.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Made me seem like I was in trouble. But he
- 11:05Speaker 1: was like, what do you want to be called? And
- 11:07Speaker 1: I was like, well Katie and he's like okay, And
- 11:09Speaker 1: from then on, Katie shit shot. I felt seen thanks
- 11:15Speaker 1: to mister Thompson. And so I just think that if
- 11:18Speaker 1: more people realize that about third grade, like really, you know,
- 11:22Speaker 1: dial in on them in that third grade period of
- 11:24Speaker 1: their lives, because
- 11:25Speaker 2: All the kids going into third grade this morning have
- 11:27Speaker 2: giant eyes right now, get into what is happened
