- 0:13Speaker 1: What's up you guys? Olaf from Puerto Rico.
- 0:16Speaker 2: And it is give them Lala with brand and we
- 0:20Speaker 2: are here in beautiful Puerto Rico. How lucky are we
- 0:23Speaker 2: to have a chance to start our movie up again?
- 0:26Speaker 1: Yes, I mean it's weird because I was talking. I
- 0:30Speaker 1: was having like general phone calls today with my manager
- 0:34Speaker 1: and agent and blah blah blah, like super Hollywood ship.
- 0:38Speaker 2: That was whole thing and most no, no, you dropped it.
- 0:44Speaker 2: And I'm looking out of the table and it's still
- 0:45Speaker 2: sitting there.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Okay, Oh, did you just steal my line from when
- 0:49Speaker 1: you name drop?
- 0:50Speaker 2: I don't name drop?
- 0:52Speaker 1: Moving on.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I was talking to that this episode is going to
- 0:56Speaker 2: be a long episode. I can already see with that.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I was telling them, you know, movies are being pushed
- 1:02Speaker 1: blah blah blah, and they had to remind me, like,
- 1:04Speaker 1: you guys are really lucky that you're continuing to work,
- 1:07Speaker 1: because most people still are not well.
- 1:10Speaker 2: It's not only that movies. Not only are it being
- 1:12Speaker 2: pushed movie the whole industry has been shut down like
- 1:15Speaker 2: many other industries. And we're one of the first movies
- 1:19Speaker 2: back here. And it is a blessing to be able
- 1:22Speaker 2: to go back to work. And it is a new
- 1:23Speaker 2: world to have to go back to work in the
- 1:26Speaker 2: way that we are going back to work. I had
- 1:28Speaker 2: to learn all the protocols and take all these classes,
- 1:30Speaker 2: and it's like walking into kind of like Mars, you know,
- 1:37Speaker 2: like with all the protective gear and stuff. Why why
- 1:39Speaker 2: are you give me that smile? Dude? Honestly, I love it?
- 1:42Speaker 2: What do you love? Like? What's a smile of? Just listen,
- 1:45Speaker 2: no one, I know you got that smirk smile like
- 1:48Speaker 2: you know you have three smiles? Is that something from
- 1:51Speaker 2: a movie a long time ago? They said you have
- 1:53Speaker 2: no but tell me that movie smile? And what was
- 1:55Speaker 2: that movie about? You know how many smiles I have?
- 1:58Speaker 2: There was a famous movie. I don't know, I'm going
- 2:01Speaker 2: to remember it anyway. Okay, so the smile you just
- 2:04Speaker 2: gave me was a smart ass smile. So you're full
- 2:06Speaker 2: of shit. But anyway, we are sitting here and I'm
- 2:10Speaker 2: gonna screenshot the view of the ocean. It is paradise.
- 2:14Speaker 2: We are very blessed to be able to go back
- 2:16Speaker 2: to work because we have not worked in four or
- 2:18Speaker 2: five months. So I'm very excited to try to do this.
- 2:21Speaker 2: We are doing it safely. It is a new world,
- 2:24Speaker 2: the new way of making movies, but it is exciting.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Roll your eyes one more time during this, that's it real.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Every podcast can't be about how thankful we are to
- 2:34Speaker 1: go back to work and coronavirus and a new way
- 2:37Speaker 1: of living. We've got to at some point venture into
- 2:40Speaker 1: new territory. Are we doing that now?
- 2:42Speaker 2: Oh my gods, are you really being show? No?
- 2:46Speaker 1: I feel like it's the same, like feel like I'm.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Moving are you today?
- 2:51Speaker 1: I'm trying to offer the people something the people hilarious
- 2:55Speaker 1: or something the people are.
- 2:58Speaker 2: I want to hear about the struggle that the world.
- 3:01Speaker 1: They know the struggles, they know it. What do you
- 3:03Speaker 1: want to talk in it?
- 3:04Speaker 2: What do you want to talk about? Real housewives gossip?
- 3:06Speaker 1: I'm trying to talk about that shit I know, but
- 3:08Speaker 1: they everyone knows the You know what.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna be quiet, so give them la no, no, no, engage. No,
- 3:14Speaker 2: I'm not talking. I'm not talking. Whatever you want to say.
- 3:17Speaker 2: You know what, you know what we're gonna You know
- 3:19Speaker 2: what we're gonna do. You know what we're gonna do.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Because you're upsetting me and you hurt my feelings, I'm
- 3:22Speaker 2: going to tell you we're gonna do I'm sorry, I
- 3:24Speaker 2: hear no, no, no, not next week's episode. The week after.
- 3:26Speaker 2: We're gonna do half and half, half and half. Okay,
- 3:30Speaker 2: the first half of the episode will be you by
- 3:31Speaker 2: yourself talking about all your tea and gossip.
- 3:34Speaker 1: We can each have a co host though. No.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I just said you by yourself and me by myself
- 3:40Speaker 2: and let's have them voked.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Okay, I love that idea.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Problem is, you have like two billion fans and I
- 3:46Speaker 2: like twenty. But we'll just do it anyway. Okay, what
- 3:48Speaker 2: do you want to bring up? Lalla?
- 3:50Speaker 1: First of all, I want to acknowledge the fact that
- 3:53Speaker 1: we said last week that we were bringing on an astrologist,
- 3:57Speaker 1: which I was super excited about, and then we got
- 4:00Speaker 1: a phone call today that she could not do it
- 4:03Speaker 1: because the time difference. I think there was a miscommunication, correct, we.
- 4:07Speaker 2: All hold on. We also didn't know that for sure
- 4:09Speaker 2: we were coming to Puerto Rico, whether the movie was
- 4:11Speaker 2: starting etctera. Now it is, so we traveled and it
- 4:13Speaker 2: just the schedules got messed up. But here's the good news.
- 4:16Speaker 2: We are going to keep all the questions that came
- 4:17Speaker 2: in because we're super excited.
- 4:18Speaker 1: We have a lot of good ones.
- 4:20Speaker 2: We have like forty to fifty. We're going to move
- 4:22Speaker 2: those to next week's episode and that will be the
- 4:25Speaker 2: Astrology episode. So there we go. Now let's talk about
- 4:29Speaker 2: who we do have on this week because I am excited.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Then you can go and tell your tea I see you.
- 4:33Speaker 2: By the way, everybody have a little.
- 4:35Speaker 3: That I've no I was gonna tell you want to
- 4:37Speaker 3: talk about.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I know, but it's like I feel like you're like, yeah,
- 4:42Speaker 2: you're right, dispel Tea. That's where I probably will check
- 4:45Speaker 2: messages during that time. Okay, okay. So my boddy and
- 4:50Speaker 2: amazingly talented actor who is starring in my movie Midnight
- 4:53Speaker 2: in the Switchgrass along with Megan Fox and Emil Hirsch
- 4:58Speaker 2: and a Michigan on Kelly is Lucas Hawes, who is
- 5:01Speaker 2: a friend and also one of the coolest, smartest, most
- 5:05Speaker 2: talented actors out there. Has been acting since he was
- 5:08Speaker 2: six years old, so we have him on today. He
- 5:11Speaker 2: is going to share with us.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Kind of his He used to go into his uh
- 5:14Speaker 1: I think it was how are what great are you
- 5:16Speaker 1: in in the sixth grade? Like kindergarten?
- 5:18Speaker 2: Right?
- 5:18Speaker 1: He was telling me.
- 5:19Speaker 2: He's sixth grade. In the sixth grade, Yeah, sixth grade?
- 5:23Speaker 1: He was six What great are you in when you're sick?
- 5:26Speaker 2: Oh you said sixth grade? You're in kindergarten? Whoa drop the.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Mic Island brain in that case, I think that's first grade. Yeah, okay,
- 5:37Speaker 1: all right, where are you.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Going with this?
- 5:39Speaker 1: That he used to dress up in costume Lucas as
- 5:43Speaker 1: like a cowboy, or he would go to school every
- 5:45Speaker 1: day in different costumes, and I thought that was really
- 5:49Speaker 1: fucking hilarious.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Centerview is gonna I feel bad for Lucas was about
- 5:52Speaker 2: to get fucking side swipe. Do you think Lucas will
- 5:55Speaker 2: stay on the movie after this podcast?
- 5:57Speaker 1: Is the biggest No, I'm gonna make him, So that's
- 6:00Speaker 1: what I like to do.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Yeah, right, okay, so drop the tea and then we'll
- 6:04Speaker 2: get back to Lucas.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Moving on, Jada Pinkett Smith, what happened with that?
- 6:08Speaker 2: So?
- 6:08Speaker 1: I just watched the video I'm controlling TM.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Okay, wait, what was the video? The video she did
- 6:13Speaker 2: our appeal?
- 6:13Speaker 1: Basically, this guy, his name's August Alcina. He's fucking to
- 6:18Speaker 1: die for. By the way, don't get mad at me
- 6:20Speaker 1: for saying that.
- 6:20Speaker 2: What does that mean to die for?
- 6:22Speaker 1: He's very good looking? All right? All right, so back
- 6:25Speaker 1: in the heat.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Wow, Wow, this is just this is just an all
- 6:30Speaker 2: star podcast.
- 6:31Speaker 1: This is Tea, This is Tea. Who do you think
- 6:35Speaker 1: is hot? Randall?
- 6:36Speaker 2: Just? Where's Lucas?
- 6:38Speaker 1: We're bringing him.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Out all ready to interview Lucy. So go ahead, Okay,
- 6:42Speaker 2: So the guy's hot, you like him?
- 6:43Speaker 1: Will Smith and Jada Pinkett we're in. We're together, right,
- 6:47Speaker 1: They're on the verge of like getting a divorce behind
- 6:50Speaker 1: closed doors. No one knows this. And she finds herself
- 6:52Speaker 1: in a quote unquote an entanglement with August Alcina. Right,
- 7:00Speaker 1: well just recently August decides to come out and be
- 7:03Speaker 1: like I was in a relationship with her. So Jada
- 7:07Speaker 1: being a fucking genius is like, I'm bringing myself to
- 7:10Speaker 1: the Red Table, which is her own show.
- 7:13Speaker 2: I also read that they were separated at that time.
- 7:16Speaker 2: You should mention that.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Well, she brings herself to the Red Table with Will
- 7:20Speaker 1: Smith to talk about it. In this video that I watched,
- 7:24Speaker 1: They're very much like ride or die for each other?
- 7:26Speaker 2: Want Will Smith and Jada come to her talk show.
- 7:29Speaker 1: She has a talk show on YouTube, Bread called tabletop.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Okay, so they sit there the red table, they sit down
- 7:37Speaker 2: and they and what happened.
- 7:38Speaker 1: They talk about it all about how they were in
- 7:41Speaker 1: a dark place, how they went their separate ways for
- 7:45Speaker 1: like five months, which she then got into an entanglement
- 7:48Speaker 1: and Will was like, why don't you call it what
- 7:50Speaker 1: it is a relationship, and she goes, we were yes,
- 7:52Speaker 1: that's what it was, and it is like she said
- 7:55Speaker 1: after that, she was like, she feels so free, and
- 8:01Speaker 1: you know it's always been up in the air, like
- 8:03Speaker 1: because August Alcina said that they got into a relationship
- 8:07Speaker 1: with Will Smith's blessing. So everyone's like, are they in
- 8:10Speaker 1: an open relationship? Blah blah blah. Here's the thing. If
- 8:13Speaker 1: it doesn't affect me, I really don't give a shit
- 8:14Speaker 1: who you're banging.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but can we talk about Will's reaction?
- 8:18Speaker 4: He's already been memed. He's like sitting there with tears
- 8:20Speaker 4: in his eyes talking about the entanglement.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Yeah. He his face really said it all. He looked
- 8:26Speaker 1: very uncomfortable and sad and like it was sad.
- 8:30Speaker 2: But are they happy now?
- 8:32Speaker 1: I here's the thing. It's Hollywood, who normally they're really
- 8:36Speaker 1: happy watching this I think they've been married for twenty
- 8:39Speaker 1: five years. They hit bumps in the road. I think
- 8:42Speaker 1: they're so.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Bad as they were stop top time out. Please, let's
- 8:46Speaker 2: give them that credit. Twenty five years of marriage in
- 8:50Speaker 2: Hollywood is a very tough thing, So I give them
- 8:54Speaker 2: a and being Will Smith, now I don't think that
- 8:57Speaker 2: I'm thinking, oh my god, it's so hard to be
- 8:58Speaker 2: Will Smith. I'm saying being in a relationship twenty five years,
- 9:01Speaker 2: whether you work, you know, in real estate or a
- 9:04Speaker 2: banker or in Hollywood, it's it's it's gonna have its
- 9:07Speaker 2: ups and downs. But also Hollywood definitely complicated.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Well, twenty five years in Hollywood is like one hundred years,
- 9:12Speaker 1: let's be honest.
- 9:13Speaker 2: So I give them, I give them props for that. Yeah,
- 9:15Speaker 2: and that is an incredible I'm gonna have to watch that.
- 9:17Speaker 2: That's scene.
- 9:18Speaker 1: You'll have to watch it because she says that she
- 9:20Speaker 1: feels very free after she went through all of that,
- 9:24Speaker 1: you know, and spoke to him at the red table.
- 9:27Speaker 1: But in twenty four hours it had fifteen million views.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Wow.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Yeah, so she's she's a genius.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Okay, you have a little more t I see, because
- 9:36Speaker 2: that list looks like it's a, uh, there's a report card.
- 9:39Speaker 1: It's not really a report card. I couldn't do this
- 9:42Speaker 1: podcast without acknowledging the fact that the Glee cast is
- 9:47Speaker 1: lost now their third a third member.
- 9:51Speaker 4: It's horrible.
- 9:52Speaker 1: It's horrible, it's horrible, devastating.
- 9:55Speaker 2: I mean, I cannot believe this poor little boy is
- 9:58Speaker 2: sitting in a boat, never to see his mom again.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Doesn't know. I can't even imagine the horror and then
- 10:03Speaker 2: the rest of his life. This is it. This is
- 10:06Speaker 2: what he remembers. It's just it's it's first of all,
- 10:08Speaker 2: it's tragic to lose any human being. But I'm just
- 10:10Speaker 2: saying her son, this is what he will remember. You know,
- 10:15Speaker 2: my mother got in the water, went for a swim.
- 10:18Speaker 2: You know it probably jumped in or well.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I read on CNN that they got in the water
- 10:23Speaker 1: together and she got up enough strength to put him
- 10:29Speaker 1: back in the boat, because clearly she knew something was something,
- 10:34Speaker 1: something was happening.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Do you think she had or that nature or heart
- 10:39Speaker 2: I mean, maybe a freak heart attack. I mean, something
- 10:41Speaker 2: had to happen catastrophically.
- 10:43Speaker 1: They just found her, I believe this morning. So I'm
- 10:45Speaker 1: sure they're going to do the autopsy but the corner
- 10:49Speaker 1: said that she had enough strength to get her son
- 10:52Speaker 1: back in the boat, not herself.
- 10:54Speaker 2: I'm just going to say something. When I read this story,
- 10:57Speaker 2: it brought tearspides. I could not believe that's might this happen? Yes,
- 11:01Speaker 2: I don't. I don't want to say it's a curse,
- 11:03Speaker 2: but you know, they've lost a bunch of cast members
- 11:06Speaker 2: and it's it's tragic. And then they're young. All of
- 11:09Speaker 2: them have been very young.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I think in Maya was only like thirty three.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's this week in general, it has been
- 11:15Speaker 4: a really bad week for celebrity deaths because Kelly Preston died,
- 11:20Speaker 4: who we had worked with.
- 11:21Speaker 2: That was just I want to say, for one second, yeah,
- 11:23Speaker 2: and that's the other thing. I mean, you know you
- 11:25Speaker 2: got to meet Kelly.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Sorry, I didn't know if you wanted me to talk
- 11:28Speaker 1: about that, because I don't know if you I know
- 11:30Speaker 1: that you know her or knew her personally, So I
- 11:33Speaker 1: didn't want it.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I grieved in my own way and I and I
- 11:38Speaker 2: went through that and it was it's hard to talk
- 11:41Speaker 2: about because it's just like she was such an amazing
- 11:43Speaker 2: mother and wife. And I text John Travolta obviously the
- 11:48Speaker 2: day it happened. I know that he's far removed from
- 11:51Speaker 2: his telephone for probably a long time, but I can.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Tell you that he is because on his Instagram he said,
- 11:58Speaker 1: if you are reaching out, this isn't ver baby him,
- 12:00Speaker 1: but that he and his family are going to be
- 12:03Speaker 1: not engaging for a while, but that your messages don't
- 12:06Speaker 1: goet noticed.
- 12:07Speaker 2: And I just think that she was such a shining light,
- 12:12Speaker 2: so fun, so happy, so just you could tell that
- 12:16Speaker 2: every moment of life when you hung out with her
- 12:19Speaker 2: or worked with her creatively, or just had a dinner
- 12:22Speaker 2: with her, she was just so just beautiful in every way.
- 12:26Speaker 1: So it is I can definitely I only knew her
- 12:30Speaker 1: through you Rand. Yeah, And it was really funny because
- 12:37Speaker 1: obviously I am not an A list celebrity, nor am
- 12:41Speaker 1: I known for film. And so when you had Gaudi
- 12:45Speaker 1: and I was going to the carpets with you into
- 12:48Speaker 1: the film festival, and can like, I was very intimidated.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I felt insecure, and she for some reason, I don't
- 12:55Speaker 1: know if she could feel my energy, but she always
- 12:58Speaker 1: made me feel like I I belonged to there.
- 13:02Speaker 2: But that's the magic of Kelly Preston. She it didn't
- 13:05Speaker 2: matter if you were, you know, taking her order at
- 13:10Speaker 2: a dinner, or you were her co star, or you
- 13:13Speaker 2: were a producer, or even my father who sat next
- 13:16Speaker 2: door at a dinner we had in Ohio. She just,
- 13:19Speaker 2: you know, was that person. She was just a beautiful,
- 13:21Speaker 2: beautiful woman, and she treated everybody with fairness. And she
- 13:24Speaker 2: was very, very honorable. And I will miss her and
- 13:29Speaker 2: I will miss everything she stood for. And at least,
- 13:33Speaker 2: you know, she left us with some incredible films and
- 13:35Speaker 2: roles that we will get to, you know, see her
- 13:38Speaker 2: over and over in that respect.
- 13:40Speaker 1: But yeah, and her last film she ever did was
- 13:44Speaker 1: your film, I know.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I know, so I take a lot of pride and
- 13:48Speaker 2: honor that, you know, she that was the last roles
- 13:51Speaker 2: that she acted in, and she was so happy because
- 13:54Speaker 2: her and John were doing it together. Yeah, And I
- 13:56Speaker 2: don't think people, you know, I think they're so professional,
- 13:59Speaker 2: you know when it comes to world that John and
- 14:00Speaker 2: Kelly they love promoting the movie and working on it together.
- 14:04Speaker 2: And it was like you know, watching like when you
- 14:06Speaker 2: and I do the podcast. But when we were on set,
- 14:10Speaker 2: you know, they were just two professional actors.
- 14:14Speaker 1: They just didn't they knew how to separate things right,
- 14:17Speaker 1: because they.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Both were there doing a job, and they both are
- 14:19Speaker 2: super professional. And John was a producer on the movie,
- 14:22Speaker 2: and Kelly had been working on that film with John
- 14:25Speaker 2: for like six years to get it made. So I'm very,
- 14:28Speaker 2: very proud to have gotten work with both of them.
- 14:29Speaker 2: And I will tell you you know, they sent me
- 14:33Speaker 2: footage of that can and I watched it the other
- 14:41Speaker 2: day a few videos, and it was really hard to
- 14:44Speaker 2: watch because she was so happy and so beautiful and
- 14:49Speaker 2: so such a shining light. And I just I really
- 14:52Speaker 2: hope people listening to this podcast will go and watch
- 14:56Speaker 2: some of the movies that Kelly Preston. Was it.
- 15:01Speaker 1: All right, Let's take a quick break and we will
- 15:05Speaker 1: be right back. Are you good?
- 15:12Speaker 2: All right? We are back. I got a little emotional.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I'll pulled it together with a big kiss. Where's this kiss?
- 15:21Speaker 2: Stop lying?
- 15:21Speaker 1: Tops, you're just lying.
- 15:25Speaker 2: You just said you gave me Lucas. We have Lucas
- 15:27Speaker 2: Hawes here, Lucas say hello, everybody. All right, she didn't
- 15:30Speaker 2: give me a kiss, and she just straight up bullshit
- 15:32Speaker 2: at me. Now you want to get me a kiss? Okay?
- 15:35Speaker 2: Thank you? All right? So everybody, we Have Lucas Has Lucas.
- 15:39Speaker 2: What I love about you because I'm a movie geek
- 15:41Speaker 2: and I am a cinephile and I love you movies.
- 15:45Speaker 2: I know all of your films. I've always wanted to
- 15:47Speaker 2: work with you, and this first time we've worked together.
- 15:48Speaker 2: We know each other in Hollywood, We've friends with the
- 15:51Speaker 2: same friends. Very Hollywood kind of thing. But just tell
- 15:55Speaker 2: me kind of how you started, how you got into acting,
- 15:58Speaker 2: because a lot of people don't. Your body of work
- 16:01Speaker 2: is so diverse and so epic, but like, how did
- 16:03Speaker 2: it start? Yeah, what did it for you?
- 16:05Speaker 5: The way I started was my mom became a writer.
- 16:09Speaker 5: It was their first the first thing she ever wrote.
- 16:11Speaker 5: She wrote this pilot and it was a live studio
- 16:15Speaker 5: audience and I was in the audience watching that, and
- 16:17Speaker 5: when I saw that, I became obsessed.
- 16:20Speaker 3: From that moment.
- 16:21Speaker 5: Forward and what age, I was like four wow, And
- 16:24Speaker 5: I was like really obsessed.
- 16:26Speaker 3: So I was asking I even remember this.
- 16:29Speaker 5: I remember asking them, like pulling on their clothes, asking
- 16:31Speaker 5: them if I could be an actor, you know, like, hey, can.
- 16:33Speaker 3: I be an actor? Can I I want to be
- 16:35Speaker 3: an actor? I was like obsessed, So.
- 16:38Speaker 2: So okay, So then and then what happened? What are
- 16:40Speaker 2: the steps from there to like your first job?
- 16:43Speaker 5: Then I started like dressing up to go to kindergarten,
- 16:47Speaker 5: and like I started putting on costumes and and we
- 16:52Speaker 5: had like one school play where I like made masks
- 16:56Speaker 5: for the other kids. We were like mice and I
- 16:58Speaker 5: had to make a knows it and all that kind
- 17:01Speaker 5: of stuff.
- 17:02Speaker 3: And then because you probably had cool parents, I had
- 17:04Speaker 3: really cool Like well I asked.
- 17:06Speaker 1: I asked him the other day, I said, are your
- 17:08Speaker 1: parents like kind of hippies? And he was like, for sure, I.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Mean, if you're dressing up that age, you have coolest
- 17:14Speaker 2: ship parents. Yeah.
- 17:14Speaker 5: My dad like got they were married and like he
- 17:17Speaker 5: had a top hat on and they married in a
- 17:19Speaker 5: tepee in Malay.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Amazing.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Okay hippie parents.
- 17:24Speaker 5: Yeah, so so they would, you know, They let me
- 17:27Speaker 5: dress up to go to school. And then there was
- 17:29Speaker 5: one actually like a parade down Wiltshire and we all
- 17:32Speaker 5: did like paper mache animals, all the kids, and mine
- 17:37Speaker 5: was a spider.
- 17:37Speaker 3: In order to make it work, I had to.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Crawl on the street in the break and I.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Would not get up, So I crawled for three miles straight.
- 17:44Speaker 5: I had bloody knees and commitments.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Oh, you're like you were a method actress six years old.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I was like, well, this is five, like five. At
- 17:52Speaker 3: that point, I was determined.
- 17:54Speaker 2: That's amazing, that's amazing.
- 17:55Speaker 5: So then a casting director came to my kindergarten and asked,
- 17:58Speaker 5: who's the best actor in all the school play?
- 18:00Speaker 3: And they were like that.
- 18:02Speaker 5: Kid right there in the spider Man spider Man outfit.
- 18:06Speaker 5: So like, So then they told my parents, and my
- 18:09Speaker 5: parents said, all right, let's try. Let's let them do it,
- 18:12Speaker 5: because up until then they said no, no, no, no, no,
- 18:14Speaker 5: you're too young.
- 18:15Speaker 3: You know, when you get older you can do it.
- 18:17Speaker 2: But and this is now at five, when the castle
- 18:19Speaker 2: rector comes to the yeah, and what and what happens
- 18:22Speaker 2: from that?
- 18:23Speaker 3: So I went an audition and I got that, got it.
- 18:26Speaker 5: What movie called Testament, okay, and then from that I
- 18:29Speaker 5: got Witness because the director of that was going to
- 18:31Speaker 5: direct Witness, but she had to drop out, and she
- 18:35Speaker 5: suggested me to Peter Weir, who auditioned me.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Okay, epic and tell everybody who co started who was
- 18:41Speaker 2: in Witness Witnesses.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Harrison Ford McGillis.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Yeah, just Harrison Ford, and that's your first movie.
- 18:48Speaker 3: That was my second second movie was my second movie?
- 18:51Speaker 2: And what was that? Do you remember the experience in
- 18:54Speaker 2: detail at that age or is it a blur?
- 18:57Speaker 5: It's I mean, there's some blurriness to it, but I
- 18:59Speaker 5: remember a lot of details. Yeah, I remember the feeling
- 19:02Speaker 5: of it. I remember certain moments, and I remember what
- 19:07Speaker 5: an amazing feeling it was to.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Be there and you knew that was it. You were
- 19:11Speaker 2: already all the way in at that point, even at
- 19:13Speaker 2: that young of an.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Age, it just felt meant to be, especially after having
- 19:16Speaker 5: been so obsessed with it, you know, like I was.
- 19:18Speaker 5: I was obsessed, so then it just happened and it
- 19:21Speaker 5: felt like, Okay, this is this is right.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I mean, I feel if my kid was like pretending
- 19:26Speaker 1: to be a spider and actually crawling around into bloody,
- 19:30Speaker 1: I'd be like, all right, I guess you can be
- 19:32Speaker 1: an actor. I guess you like it enough.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Well, you know what's funny. I I grew up you know,
- 19:37Speaker 2: in the arts too, and foreming arts, and then was
- 19:40Speaker 2: obsessed with movies. Why I was in the performing arts
- 19:42Speaker 2: and then figured out, oh you can make movies and
- 19:44Speaker 2: went to film school. So I do understand that obsession.
- 19:48Speaker 2: What happens next, Like, as as as you get older,
- 19:52Speaker 2: what's that big first role that really you knew? Wow?
- 19:55Speaker 5: You know, well you know what happened. Basically, Witness was
- 19:58Speaker 5: massive at the time. It was a really really big movies.
- 20:00Speaker 5: So I carried me until now.
- 20:06Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Come on, you work with some epic directors at movie stars.
- 20:11Speaker 2: I mean, but but I mean you're saying that just
- 20:14Speaker 2: that just pummeled you.
- 20:15Speaker 5: It was so big and it was such an important
- 20:17Speaker 5: role in the film. So it was the title role
- 20:19Speaker 5: of the film. And so I just I was making
- 20:21Speaker 5: a lot of really cool movies.
- 20:23Speaker 3: After that. I made a movie called.
- 20:24Speaker 5: Ramling Roseye and then I was I was in you know,
- 20:29Speaker 5: Woody Allen movies, and uh, well.
- 20:32Speaker 2: What how how old were you? How how old were
- 20:35Speaker 2: you when you worked with Woody Allen?
- 20:37Speaker 3: Eighteen?
- 20:38Speaker 2: Okay? And what tell me? Okay, I've never even met
- 20:41Speaker 2: Woody Allen? Okay, so that's somebody for me. That's like, like,
- 20:44Speaker 2: you know, Martin Scorsese, you know, you look up and
- 20:46Speaker 2: you say, you know these these iconic directors. Wow, what
- 20:51Speaker 2: what's the process like working with Woody Allen? I mean,
- 20:54Speaker 2: is it the same as any other director, what's different,
- 20:57Speaker 2: what's what makes him Woody Allen? When you're on set
- 20:59Speaker 2: as an actor.
- 21:00Speaker 5: You know every movie, every director is different. But in
- 21:02Speaker 5: this case, he actually was very hands off. He didn't
- 21:05Speaker 5: say much. It's sort of like this feeling you get
- 21:08Speaker 5: when you're there, like the cast and the whole setup
- 21:12Speaker 5: and it's all the people he's been working with forever
- 21:15Speaker 5: and the script and it's just like you already know
- 21:19Speaker 5: what you're doing. You already know what a wood Woody
- 21:21Speaker 5: Allen movie.
- 21:22Speaker 2: You know what to do because you've seen all of
- 21:24Speaker 2: his work and it's so flawless and.
- 21:27Speaker 5: Like there's a particular vibe to it, and the lines
- 21:31Speaker 5: all there, they like makes they sound like Woody Allen lines.
- 21:34Speaker 2: And there's not a lot to figure out. Mean, he
- 21:36Speaker 2: tells you.
- 21:36Speaker 5: I mean he comes in and he's like, hey, you
- 21:38Speaker 5: go there, and you go there, and he tells you
- 21:39Speaker 5: what to do.
- 21:40Speaker 3: But that was about.
- 21:41Speaker 2: That's about it. Yeah, but that but think about it.
- 21:45Speaker 2: He doesn't have to do much because all the actors
- 21:47Speaker 2: in his movies are like at a very high level.
- 21:51Speaker 2: It's not like there's a lot of beginners in Woody
- 21:54Speaker 2: Allen's movie.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Right, This isn't like a when they step on like
- 21:57Speaker 1: a freaking acting class wreck, like you come correct.
- 22:01Speaker 2: And it's like the greatest, most talented people in the industry.
- 22:05Speaker 2: And that's probably why he doesn't have to say you
- 22:07Speaker 2: want because he casts them.
- 22:09Speaker 5: Yeah, there were a lot of great actors in that movie.
- 22:11Speaker 5: Was like Goldie Hawn and.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Drew Barrymore and Natalie Portman.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that's pretty much the greatest. I mean, each person
- 22:23Speaker 2: of that cast could make their own movie times den
- 22:26Speaker 2: on their own. I have a question because I heard
- 22:29Speaker 2: I heard a rumor. I'm not good with the rumors,
- 22:31Speaker 2: but it was, Uh, you did a movie with Leonardo
- 22:34Speaker 2: DiCaprio in Canada in very very tough conditions, which the
- 22:38Speaker 2: name of the movie was Inception Exception.
- 22:41Speaker 1: What have you seen it, Randall?
- 22:43Speaker 2: Yes, one of my favorite bilies.
- 22:44Speaker 1: It's so good.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Inceptions one. Well, you did do it. Let's correct, we're
- 22:51Speaker 2: talking about Exception. Hold on, let's back up, so people
- 22:56Speaker 2: know you did do Inception, which is one of my
- 22:59Speaker 2: favorite movies. And The Revenant, which is I had.
- 23:03Speaker 1: To watch a few times to like atally understand what.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I love it. I love it and the interpretation is
- 23:08Speaker 2: different every time you watch it. Yeah, there's a lot
- 23:11Speaker 2: going on inception. But but we go back to that
- 23:14Speaker 2: The Revenant. Now I watched that movie. Leo won the
- 23:18Speaker 2: Oscar for that, right mm hmm. Okay, Leonardo, because I
- 23:21Speaker 2: don't know like Leo or l L. Will you give
- 23:25Speaker 2: everybody an initial? You call Lucas. I mean, you call Lucas. Okay, okay,
- 23:31Speaker 2: So one of the greatest filmmakers, right, and and so
- 23:34Speaker 2: tell me the conditions of that film, because the film
- 23:36Speaker 2: is so in the element. There's no it doesn't look
- 23:40Speaker 2: like you're on a sound stage.
- 23:41Speaker 3: No, it was. It was crazy. I mean it was
- 23:44Speaker 3: just it was.
- 23:45Speaker 5: Very, very cold, and uh we were out there in
- 23:49Speaker 5: the cold for months on hunt End basically.
- 23:52Speaker 3: I mean that's pretty much the gist of it.
- 23:56Speaker 2: I mean, so, so what's a normal day, Like what
- 23:58Speaker 2: was a temperature like ten to twenty degrees?
- 24:01Speaker 3: I mean's like it was yeah, freeze ten It was freezing.
- 24:04Speaker 2: It was freezing, and you guys are out there from
- 24:06Speaker 2: six am to six pm every day and in the
- 24:10Speaker 2: cold and the water.
- 24:11Speaker 3: I mean about my role, you know, I was like
- 24:14Speaker 3: one of the trappers.
- 24:14Speaker 5: So there was probably like ten of us and we
- 24:16Speaker 5: were all just kind of doing like.
- 24:18Speaker 1: You were all just trapping, trapping.
- 24:20Speaker 5: Yeah, we were just trudging through lakes and rivers, oh my,
- 24:25Speaker 5: and the water and how's that wal down mountains? And
- 24:27Speaker 5: that was basically what I did in that movie. And
- 24:30Speaker 5: it was pretty It was pretty awesome. It was actually
- 24:33Speaker 5: very cool to get to be a part of it,
- 24:35Speaker 5: but it was tough to shoot.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Let me ask a questions because I do know a
- 24:39Speaker 2: little bit of Hollywood history. I know that you may
- 24:41Speaker 2: have made movies with a lot of different actors. Is
- 24:43Speaker 2: it different making movies with your friends, whether whoever it
- 24:46Speaker 2: may be worse? Is it better? Is it worse? Is
- 24:49Speaker 2: it is it more comfortable? Is it more uncomfortable? Depending
- 24:53Speaker 2: whoever it is. You know, because you know a lot
- 24:55Speaker 2: of people, you grew up in the industry. Is it
- 24:57Speaker 2: easier to make movies with your friends?
- 24:59Speaker 5: You know what, I make friends with the people I
- 25:02Speaker 5: make movies with basically, and when you're on set, you're
- 25:05Speaker 5: just doing your job. So it doesn't really necessarily feel
- 25:08Speaker 5: any different to me.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Because you're approaching the role from a character. Doesn't matter
- 25:13Speaker 2: if that person you've known for twenty years or you
- 25:15Speaker 2: know for twenty minutes.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Well, it goes back to how you were talking about
- 25:18Speaker 1: Kelly Preston and like how they can separate you just yeah,
- 25:22Speaker 1: you know, you.
- 25:23Speaker 5: Learn how to be a professional, and when you're a professional,
- 25:26Speaker 5: that's kind of that's it.
- 25:27Speaker 3: It's a job.
- 25:28Speaker 5: So yeah, you know, you.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Tell me your greatest experience in acting to date that
- 25:33Speaker 2: you would say was your greatest, like best role, the
- 25:36Speaker 2: one you enjoyed the most performance wise, you.
- 25:39Speaker 5: Know, the one I enjoyed the most was probably probably witnessed.
- 25:45Speaker 1: He's like, my worst was this film called Midnight in
- 25:48Speaker 1: the Switchgrass. It's a joke. It's a joke. Randall is
- 25:53Speaker 1: really sensitive today. It's a joke.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Are you well, we haven't even I haven't seen this one.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Do you think there's no way to know?
- 26:00Speaker 2: This is the great thing? We might be friends now.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Well in the cut of the movie, you might be like,
- 26:04Speaker 2: I'm like, Lucas, Oh sorry, man, I'm really busy. I'll
- 26:07Speaker 2: get back to you.
- 26:09Speaker 3: No, but listen, there's a few movies.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd like to hear some of your favorite.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Highlights for me.
- 26:13Speaker 5: Yea Ramling Rose was one of them when I was younger, amazing,
- 26:16Speaker 5: And then I did a movie called Brick that I
- 26:19Speaker 5: love and that was with Joe Gordon love it and.
- 26:21Speaker 3: I played Ryan Johnson directed it, Yes, it was his first.
- 26:24Speaker 1: You've seen it, timbo.
- 26:25Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, it's fantastic.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Seen every movie.
- 26:27Speaker 3: It was a rad movie.
- 26:28Speaker 4: One of that's one of the ones that I've seen.
- 26:30Speaker 3: And it was a cool ass role too.
- 26:31Speaker 1: That was a cool ROLEA what's it got to write it?
- 26:34Speaker 3: Brick?
- 26:34Speaker 2: Well, I have to see it too, Brick.
- 26:36Speaker 5: And I loved my role in this movie called Widows
- 26:39Speaker 5: that came out a couple.
- 26:41Speaker 3: I haven't seen that one.
- 26:43Speaker 1: It was a very cool, cool How old were you
- 26:45Speaker 1: that one?
- 26:46Speaker 2: I was a couple of years ago.
- 26:47Speaker 1: So foo, sorry on the spot.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Here's the craziest thing. So, so I put our movie together, Lucas,
- 26:57Speaker 2: the one that we're doing right now. And you know
- 27:00Speaker 2: how hard is to put a movie together. You're in movies,
- 27:03Speaker 2: you're an independent, you're a big studio ones, they're all
- 27:05Speaker 2: hard to get together. And I finally decide after twenty
- 27:10Speaker 2: something years to direct my first movie I made up
- 27:12Speaker 2: put together. Yeah, very hard to put together. And this
- 27:14Speaker 2: one comes together and I'm so excited and boom we
- 27:16Speaker 2: start shooting and then pandemic comes and we're on a
- 27:20Speaker 2: plane home after a week of shooting.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I've never seen Randall cry ever, win a kid that
- 27:26Speaker 1: when he's doing a movie.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Is this a joke today?
- 27:30Speaker 1: No? What is wrong with the podcast is for honesty
- 27:35Speaker 1: and in people at the table can't be honest.
- 27:37Speaker 2: But this isn't therapy. I'm trying to talk about my
- 27:40Speaker 2: experience making.
- 27:41Speaker 1: A movie, and I'm telling them about my experience with
- 27:45Speaker 1: Go Ahead, because it's the podcast.
- 27:48Speaker 3: With both of us.
- 27:50Speaker 1: I have never seen Randall cry when he does when
- 27:53Speaker 1: he's done any movie, and he's done over one hundred films.
- 27:56Speaker 1: This is the first because he looks so puss. This
- 28:00Speaker 1: is the first first film he's cried on.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Anyway, Hey, by the way, you know, I understand.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I didn't cry on the movie. I cried because my
- 28:11Speaker 2: heart and soul was in this film, and as a director,
- 28:14Speaker 2: I had never been through this experience before. No one
- 28:17Speaker 2: ever has, but no one, by the way, no one has.
- 28:19Speaker 2: And by the way, the whole world was shut down.
- 28:21Speaker 2: So in the moment, and then I just want to
- 28:23Speaker 2: be honest because I'm in the moment. You know, that's
- 28:27Speaker 2: your world the movie, right, you're on the set, you
- 28:29Speaker 2: realize we all have to go home. You don't really
- 28:31Speaker 2: know what's going on. So in that moment, my heart
- 28:34Speaker 2: was broken. Obviously, when I got home, I realized, oh
- 28:37Speaker 2: my god, the whole world is ending, and I got
- 28:39Speaker 2: to take care of my family and myself. But in
- 28:41Speaker 2: that moment, no way, I just want to But.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Did Lucas know when you guys were out here, I'm
- 28:46Speaker 1: very curious. Did you think, like, oh, we're good, We're
- 28:48Speaker 1: going to finish it up and then we'll head home.
- 28:50Speaker 3: It was sort of like.
- 28:51Speaker 2: I thought, so, yeah, we really thought.
- 28:53Speaker 3: We thought we already kind of almost halfway through the movie.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, we we were almost have we were,
- 28:58Speaker 2: I mean we were we were left.
- 29:00Speaker 5: Yeah, And I went to set that morning, I mean.
- 29:05Speaker 2: I went to set to it. By the way we
- 29:06Speaker 2: have Okay, here's the truth. Here's no but here's here's
- 29:09Speaker 2: the truth. Here's how Lucas put his costume on at
- 29:15Speaker 2: like six am before he even got the set. He
- 29:17Speaker 2: just wanted to make sure as a character, no any crawl,
- 29:20Speaker 2: any crawl to set. No. No. But here's the truth
- 29:23Speaker 2: that that weekend, right we I was talking to you,
- 29:27Speaker 2: law and I was talking to the kids, and the
- 29:29Speaker 2: world was shutting down already, but not fully and we
- 29:32Speaker 2: weren't feeling it here, and then Sunday the governor of
- 29:35Speaker 2: Puerto Rico put a curfew on and that's when we
- 29:38Speaker 2: all realize, oh, this is getting really serious. And I
- 29:42Speaker 2: started talking to crew that night and I realized, this
- 29:44Speaker 2: doesn't look like it's gonna happen. The sweetest thing that
- 29:47Speaker 2: I ever got was Megan Fox, Lucas, Emil Hirsh everybody
- 29:52Speaker 2: called me and said we're with you, and if you're
- 29:54Speaker 2: going to keep shooting and we're allowed to shoot safely,
- 29:56Speaker 2: then we will. And I said that means the world
- 29:58Speaker 2: to me. So I went to set that morning. You
- 30:00Speaker 2: were already there, and you know, we had half the
- 30:03Speaker 2: crew show up, and which which is understandable because people
- 30:06Speaker 2: the world was shutting down and and and health was obviously.
- 30:10Speaker 1: A huge You definitely didn't know because when you called me,
- 30:13Speaker 1: you were like, it's normal here, and I was like,
- 30:16Speaker 1: it's normal.
- 30:17Speaker 2: No no, no, no, no, no no no, wait, I want
- 30:19Speaker 2: to get it right. That's not true. You're right about
- 30:21Speaker 2: the normal because on Saturday and Sunday we were at
- 30:23Speaker 2: the beach on our days off, and we thought it
- 30:26Speaker 2: was normal.
- 30:26Speaker 5: It seemed like this thing that was going on in
- 30:28Speaker 5: the other part of the world. You know, we weren't
- 30:30Speaker 5: really we didn't think there were no cases.
- 30:32Speaker 2: There were no cases at Puerto Rico, and they were
- 30:34Speaker 2: telling us everything's going to be normal here, don't worry.
- 30:37Speaker 2: I mean, obviously nobody knew anything at that point, and
- 30:41Speaker 2: we we didn't know. But at about nine pm, ten
- 30:46Speaker 2: pm that my production partner started calling me and saying,
- 30:50Speaker 2: we don't think a lot of crews coming in, and
- 30:51Speaker 2: we're also being told by the health board that this is,
- 30:54Speaker 2: you know, a pandemic and all this. So we were
- 30:57Speaker 2: so in the kind of in the dark over here.
- 31:00Speaker 2: And I got to set that morning, and when half
- 31:03Speaker 2: the crew was on the set, I know, I knew,
- 31:06Speaker 2: and I also we had we just decided that morning
- 31:10Speaker 2: at about six thirty. I'd gotten up so early, and
- 31:13Speaker 2: we had just decided that for now we're gonna we okay,
- 31:16Speaker 2: I remember the conversation. Now we had decided we were
- 31:19Speaker 2: going to shut down for like a week or two.
- 31:22Speaker 2: We thought we're going to go home. Remember even on
- 31:24Speaker 2: the plane home, I said, we're gonna shut down for
- 31:26Speaker 2: a couple of weeks. We're gonna come right back. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Were so we stayed in costume the whole time. I
- 31:33Speaker 1: saw the same character.
- 31:37Speaker 2: But anyway, it was it was heartbreaking. We took a
- 31:39Speaker 2: vote with the crew, but we also had we took
- 31:42Speaker 2: a vote because I think legally we were supposed to
- 31:44Speaker 2: take a vote, but we had already decided when forty
- 31:47Speaker 2: people out of one hundred and ten showed up. But
- 31:50Speaker 2: it was the right thing to do safety wise. Obviously,
- 31:52Speaker 2: the crew has you know, family here, they need to
- 31:55Speaker 2: get to them.
- 31:55Speaker 5: We need to It was definitely something that needed to happen.
- 31:57Speaker 5: It's and it's unprecedented. No one knew how to deal
- 32:00Speaker 5: with this thing.
- 32:01Speaker 2: So and by the way, when I when I when
- 32:03Speaker 2: I that morning at six thirty am, when I knew
- 32:06Speaker 2: we were going to shut down, we got the set
- 32:07Speaker 2: and we we made the official I think I got
- 32:12Speaker 2: us out of Puerto Rico in like seven hours.
- 32:14Speaker 5: Literally, I was on sp Superman work and then and
- 32:18Speaker 5: then you came up and be like, I don't think
- 32:20Speaker 5: we're going to film today.
- 32:22Speaker 2: We're not.
- 32:23Speaker 3: And I'm like okay, and then You're like we're probably
- 32:26Speaker 3: going home tonight.
- 32:26Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, all right, and there we laugh. We
- 32:31Speaker 2: can laugh now, And we were not laughing then, But I.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Mean today, it's like this movie they're doing is so eventful.
- 32:39Speaker 1: People are linking up and now we're back, you know,
- 32:42Speaker 1: like this is like the best. No, I'm telling you,
- 32:44Speaker 1: this is the best movie ever. And it hasn't even
- 32:47Speaker 1: been released.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Do you know what, Del Hirsh called me? A Meil
- 32:51Speaker 2: Hirsh called me and said, there's more publicity around your movie.
- 32:56Speaker 2: It hasn't even come out yet, it hasn't even been filmed.
- 32:59Speaker 1: I know, how do we keep the momentum going with
- 33:03Speaker 1: the film?
- 33:04Speaker 2: Listen, I don't. All I want to do is start
- 33:07Speaker 2: shooting on Monday and make a great film and have
- 33:10Speaker 2: the work speak for itself. And I am very grateful
- 33:12Speaker 2: that all of you, know you and Emil and Megan Colson, everybody.
- 33:17Speaker 2: What I love is you guys all kept in touch
- 33:18Speaker 2: with me, and we kept in touch with each other,
- 33:20Speaker 2: and I think it made us even closer. And I
- 33:22Speaker 2: think when you go back, we're gonna even be stronger.
- 33:24Speaker 2: So I'm really really excited.
- 33:25Speaker 3: The only problem is the masks.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Well you're oh yeah, you guys have not you guys
- 33:31Speaker 1: haven't even scraped the surface yet.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, by the way, all right, we're gonna we're
- 33:34Speaker 2: going a quick break and we'll come back and we're
- 33:35Speaker 2: gonna we're gonna finish up here with Lucas has.
- 33:41Speaker 1: We're back beach.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Really, yeah, that's how you have to come back.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I feel like they're my friends, you know, like this podcast,
- 33:48Speaker 1: I feel like like walking into a room like, what's
- 33:51Speaker 1: that bitch?
- 33:51Speaker 2: Should you do a girl?
- 33:53Speaker 1: That's how I feel like, Hey man, how's the wife?
- 33:57Speaker 1: I feel like those are like the people listening, aren't
- 33:59Speaker 1: just like people listening, like those are my friends.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Yeah, that's probably.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that's probably why you have That's why Lucas and
- 34:06Speaker 2: I have like six followers and you have one five million.
- 34:09Speaker 2: So there you go.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Oh good lord.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Okay, So but anyway, we're just finishing up. But you know,
- 34:15Speaker 2: I think that the COVID thing, I think that it's
- 34:17Speaker 2: made us stronger. I think it's brought us all closer,
- 34:19Speaker 2: and I think that we're gonna have a lot to
- 34:21Speaker 2: talk about, you know, with this movie. Because just going
- 34:24Speaker 2: into rehearsals the other day, we had masks on, and.
- 34:27Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, that was crazy.
- 34:29Speaker 5: How we're Is it weird to direct with actors who
- 34:31Speaker 5: have masks on?
- 34:32Speaker 2: Well? I had a direct, and I couldn't even see
- 34:34Speaker 2: what you were Is it hard? I didn't know if
- 34:36Speaker 2: you were laughing at me, what if you were sticking
- 34:38Speaker 2: your tongue out at me and telling me to like,
- 34:40Speaker 2: go shove it.
- 34:41Speaker 3: I mean, I'm acting just like normally.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Always fighting it. I don't know a mouth, a mouth
- 34:45Speaker 1: doing nothing speaks a thousand words like me. When I'm
- 34:48Speaker 1: pissed off, I purse the lips. That's how random those.
- 34:52Speaker 3: They say it's all in the eyes, but yeah, sure,
- 34:54Speaker 3: if that's true or not.
- 34:55Speaker 2: It's all in the eyes, but I'd like to I'd
- 34:58Speaker 2: like to see a little expression. So the good news
- 35:01Speaker 2: is we could take the mass off when we actually
- 35:03Speaker 2: roll the cameras next week, so we'll be fine. So
- 35:08Speaker 2: uh where we okay? Uh, Lucas. What is it like
- 35:12Speaker 2: leaving Los Angeles now, being on an island overlooking the
- 35:15Speaker 2: ocean after five months, four months of lockdown?
- 35:18Speaker 1: I mean, which, by the way, I always locked down again, guys,
- 35:21Speaker 1: I know.
- 35:21Speaker 2: There are a lot of places.
- 35:22Speaker 3: It's so surreal, by the way, just being here, I mean,
- 35:25Speaker 3: I've never stayed at such a nice place when I
- 35:27Speaker 3: was faking a movie.
- 35:29Speaker 5: I'm here literally just on the beach, just chilling out.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Youth your metha. It is pretty amazing. I do say
- 35:39Speaker 2: it's also.
- 35:40Speaker 1: A mind fuck for a method actor, because if I
- 35:42Speaker 1: was supposed to be like a serial killer, I'd look
- 35:44Speaker 1: out there and I'd be like, I feel so zen,
- 35:46Speaker 1: It's like everything's fut.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Look. All I gotta say is, you know, I've made
- 35:52Speaker 2: movies like you, Lucas all around the world, and you know,
- 35:55Speaker 2: in places that were ten degrees below Grand Rapids, Michigan
- 35:58Speaker 2: in the winter, in blizzard where we couldn't get to
- 36:00Speaker 2: the set. I've made movies in Eastern Europe in the winter.
- 36:03Speaker 2: I've made movies in states like Ohio, Alabama.
- 36:07Speaker 3: It's usually not in the most beautiful.
- 36:09Speaker 2: It's not a beach. This is the first time in
- 36:11Speaker 2: my entire career I've ever got to make a movie
- 36:14Speaker 2: in a place that I would literally wish I could
- 36:16Speaker 2: vacation it like it's so beautiful. And I just want
- 36:20Speaker 2: to promote Puerto Rico because I love the community here
- 36:24Speaker 2: and the state that it is, and I just want
- 36:27Speaker 2: to say, if you ever can get your family here
- 36:30Speaker 2: one day, or you know, visit here with friends, Puerto
- 36:34Speaker 2: Rico has so many amazing things off.
- 36:36Speaker 5: It is a beautiful, beautiful place, and I feel lucky
- 36:39Speaker 5: to be filming here for sure.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Well, we're grateful to have you.
- 36:43Speaker 2: They are all right, Lucas. We don't want to torture anymore.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Here's a good news, Lucas. You get to leave this podcast,
- 36:50Speaker 2: and I don't get to go anywhere.
- 36:51Speaker 1: So I will because it's voicemail time.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I'm going to go to the beach.
- 36:58Speaker 1: To the beach.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Thanks Lucas, everybody, Lucas Hawes, we thank you for coming.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Okay, it's voicemail time, bitch.
- 37:04Speaker 2: How much do you love Lucas?
- 37:06Speaker 1: I fucking dive for Lucas. Thus the other day when
- 37:09Speaker 1: you were like napping, I just kicked it with Lucas
- 37:11Speaker 1: and ate Puerto Rican pineapple by the beat.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Nice. Nice. You guys are living your best.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Living our best life while you stress. We're too blessed
- 37:18Speaker 1: to stress. That's what is up?
- 37:21Speaker 2: Could you wrap it up? Yeah?
- 37:22Speaker 1: All right. Here is one of our voicemails.
- 37:27Speaker 6: I just want to say that I love you guys.
- 37:28Speaker 6: I think that you are my favorite couple on vander Palm. Randall.

- 37:42Speaker 6: I would love to get some tips and tricks. Thanks
- 37:45Speaker 6: so Athletic guys, keep up the great work.
- 37:47Speaker 1: What inspires my style? Absolutely nothing. I wish I was inspired,
- 37:54Speaker 1: Like I go through my Instagram and I like save
- 37:56Speaker 1: people's cute outfits and I don't even know why because
- 37:58Speaker 1: I'm never going to try to copy it because I
- 38:01Speaker 1: just put on what I feel like, which is most
- 38:03Speaker 1: of the time, no makeup and sweatpants and less of
- 38:06Speaker 1: cameras rolling than I pretend like I'm just fabulous all
- 38:08Speaker 1: the time. Next question, we'll go with a lighthearted one.

- 40:47Speaker 1: People think I'm bougie, and I'm really I pretend I'm really.
