- 0:00Speaker 1: This report is sponsored by Taking a Walk Podcast. This
- 0:03Speaker 1: is kind of like the mentality that you get from
- 0:06Speaker 1: some people. So when I was talking to the boss
- 0:10Speaker 1: lady about taxes and a lot of stuff that was
- 0:14Speaker 1: renewed was renewals, that people voted for renewals, and myself included.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I voted to renew the quarter percent sales tax for
- 0:27Speaker 1: Pat Giannetti's road resurfacing program. Because as I said it
- 0:32Speaker 1: before to you, and as I'll say it to you
- 0:33Speaker 1: again in Mahoning County, there hasn't been a county engineer
- 0:36Speaker 1: that is doing more as far as road resurfacing than
- 0:41Speaker 1: Pat Giannetti. And if you actually looked at when he
- 0:44Speaker 1: pitched that sales tax initially, his funding had remained pretty
- 0:47Speaker 1: much stagnant over many, many, many years because it would
- 0:51Speaker 1: come from license plates and gas tax. So the money
- 0:56Speaker 1: wasn't going up as the costs were going up to
- 0:58Speaker 1: do road resurfacing. So you kept your ability was to
- 1:02Speaker 1: do less and less road miles. And we got a
- 1:05Speaker 1: lot of county roads around here and not to give
- 1:08Speaker 1: them the attention that they're needed. So when he proposed
- 1:10Speaker 1: this quarter percent sales tax, which you don't even notice.
- 1:14Speaker 1: And it's out there, and the townships get some money
- 1:17Speaker 1: for it. So it's in addition to the township budget.
- 1:21Speaker 1: So you're seeing more roads get resurfaced in your townships,
- 1:25Speaker 1: Boardman and Austintown, and in your community, in Jackson Township.
- 1:29Speaker 1: You see more county roads getting the attention that they
- 1:32Speaker 1: haven't gotten for 25 or 30 years in all the
- 1:36Speaker 1: outlying areas of our county because of this $ 10 million
- 1:41Speaker 1: coming in from a quarter percent sales tax, all of
- 1:43Speaker 1: which goes to dealing with road resurfacing and fixing roads
- 1:49Speaker 1: and infrastructure, doesn't go to raises and that kind of stuff,
- 1:52Speaker 1: as he said when that was passed. So that's something
- 1:56Speaker 1: that I want to see continue because it makes a
- 2:00Speaker 1: huge difference on the roads that you drive throughout our county.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Can you imagine if oil prices would come down because
- 2:11Speaker 1: asphalt is an oil-based product? So if you can get
- 2:14Speaker 1: oil prices down to where asphalt is less expensive than
- 2:19Speaker 1: it is now, then the amount of road miles you
- 2:21Speaker 1: can pave goes up even more. Unfortunately, oil prices are high,
- 2:26Speaker 1: and asphalt obviously is an oil-based product, so it eats
- 2:31Speaker 1: up more of your $ 10 million to buy the product
- 2:34Speaker 1: to be able to resurface some of these roads. But
- 2:37Speaker 1: if you could bring those prices down, as was happening
- 2:41Speaker 1: before the war, then it means you can pave even
- 2:43Speaker 1: more miles. But any way you slice it, it's a
- 2:48Speaker 1: good thing for Mahoning County that you're not driving on
- 2:50Speaker 1: as many crappy roads. And roads that have been ignored
- 2:52Speaker 1: in the county for years are getting the attention that
- 2:55Speaker 1: they need. Because the money is there. If oil prices
- 2:58Speaker 1: come down, even more gets done. And your township benefits...
- 3:02Speaker 1: as a result of it as well. Just like when
- 3:05Speaker 1: I voted in Austintown Township, a couple of them were
- 3:09Speaker 1: road renewal levies for your local roads. That's your budget
- 3:13Speaker 1: to fix the roads you drive on every day. That
- 3:19Speaker 1: is a necessity unless you want to replace your shocks
- 3:22Speaker 1: and have giant potholes everywhere. But I've never seen more
- 3:26Speaker 1: attention given to fixing roads than here. you're seeing right now,
- 3:30Speaker 1: trying to get as much bang for your buck as
- 3:33Speaker 1: you possibly can. And that's a good thing. Just like
- 3:38Speaker 1: when people would renew fire levies and police levies, well,
- 3:43Speaker 1: they want somebody to show up to put the fire
- 3:46Speaker 1: out if their house catches on fire, or a cop
- 3:48Speaker 1: to show up if they got a problem. They need
- 3:50Speaker 1: somebody to show up. I mean, there was some... New
- 3:55Speaker 1: levies had passed off the top of my head. I
- 3:57Speaker 1: can't say in Mahoning or Trumbull counties. Can't think of
- 4:00Speaker 1: them offhand. But in general, people support usually their police
- 4:03Speaker 1: departments because let's be realistic. When I talk about inflation,
- 4:07Speaker 1: inflation affects the government, too. They got to pay more
- 4:09Speaker 1: for police cars and benefits and salaries for cops as
- 4:13Speaker 1: well as fire trucks and cars. to replace a plow
- 4:18Speaker 1: truck for your county roads, but we all want the
- 4:20Speaker 1: roads plowed. We'd like to have decent roads to drive on.
- 4:23Speaker 1: We want to have the roads plowed. We want a
- 4:25Speaker 1: cop to show up when we call him. And what's
- 4:28Speaker 1: most important to policing, you got to have a police car, obviously,
- 4:31Speaker 1: to get around, and a fire truck. So there's some
- 4:35Speaker 1: things like when they were renewals, people voted for them
- 4:38Speaker 1: because they were a renewal that made perfect sense. It
- 4:41Speaker 1: was in your best interest. to say, okay, that's my money,
- 4:46Speaker 1: but I can see the direct benefits from that. So
- 4:50Speaker 1: that's something I'll stick with. Unlike, as I say, the
- 4:53Speaker 1: property tax of the library, which I never vote for.
- 4:56Speaker 1: I never vote for it. I never voted for the
- 4:59Speaker 1: forever tax for WRTA, which was a sales tax. I
- 5:03Speaker 1: never voted for that. I never voted for the senior levy.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I don't vote to renew the senior levy. I never
- 5:08Speaker 1: voted for it when it first came out. I don't
- 5:10Speaker 1: vote for the library levy. Never have, never will. I
- 5:16Speaker 1: never voted for the sales tax for WRTA. It's a
- 5:18Speaker 1: forever levy, so I never get a chance to vote
- 5:22Speaker 1: against it again because it's there forever. But there are
- 5:28Speaker 1: ones that when you see that have a direct benefit
- 5:31Speaker 1: for you, that's a different story. So I'm not going
- 5:35Speaker 1: to cut my own throat in that sense. It doesn't
- 5:41Speaker 1: make a lick of sense to me to do something
- 5:43Speaker 1: like that. I'm not going to do that. Now, do
- 5:46Speaker 1: I think we have a problem with property taxes? Obviously.
- 5:52Speaker 1: And I've said that. And I'll continue to say that.
- 5:56Speaker 1: But the problem is people keep thinking it's... there is
- 6:00Speaker 1: no longer personal responsibility that somehow it's the government's responsibility
- 6:04Speaker 1: to take care of everybody and their problems. It's now
- 6:07Speaker 1: the government's responsibility to take care of every senior citizen
- 6:10Speaker 1: or pay somebody to the taxpayers, pay somebody to mow
- 6:13Speaker 1: your lawn or pay somebody to clean your house. This
- 6:15Speaker 1: is ridiculous. I mean, and to vote for this kind
- 6:21Speaker 1: of stuff is stupid and yet people do it. And
- 6:26Speaker 1: then they sit around saying, well, what's going on here?
- 6:29Speaker 1: I mean, it has to be some degree of personal responsibility.
- 6:31Speaker 1: There has to be success and failure in capitalism. Your
- 6:35Speaker 1: problems shouldn't be my problems. And my problems shouldn't be
- 6:39Speaker 1: your problems. The decisions you make in life, there has
- 6:44Speaker 1: to be some degree of ramifications to them. And you
- 6:50Speaker 1: just take it from there. That's why I talk about
- 6:54Speaker 1: it so much because I sincerely am concerned about the
- 6:58Speaker 1: burden that this is putting on senior citizens as well
- 7:00Speaker 1: as younger people trying to buy homes. It is too
- 7:04Speaker 1: much of an additional burden in addition to the payments,
- 7:08Speaker 1: the tax burden that's there, and how much of that
- 7:10Speaker 1: money is being literally pissed away. You can't take care
- 7:16Speaker 1: of everybody. That isn't the role of local governments. But
- 7:20Speaker 1: you can see the philosophy of your local governments, as
- 7:23Speaker 1: I point out, with commissioners that say, despite the huge
- 7:26Speaker 1: increase we got in reappraisals, we can't give a small
- 7:29Speaker 1: portion of it back to the people who we claimed
- 7:31Speaker 1: we knew were suffering as a result of it. And
- 7:34Speaker 1: we were given the power by Dave Thomas to ease
- 7:36Speaker 1: that pain, but we're not going to do any of that.
- 7:39Speaker 1: So that's what I'm talking. It's just cheap political talk
- 7:42Speaker 1: by them because there's no way they can ease a
- 7:45Speaker 1: little bit of that pain with people. So there you
- 7:47Speaker 1: have it. 414 in the afternoon. You're on the air.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Hey, Ron, I'd like to ask you a favor. What
- 7:54Speaker 2: do you need, sir?
- 7:55Speaker 1: You need money?
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yeah, can you loan me $ 2 billion? I want to
- 8:01Speaker 2: open an account with Warren Buffett so I can attend
- 8:05Speaker 2: a board meeting. Because I want to ask him, if
- 8:10Speaker 2: inflation has hit a three-year high, how come a lot
- 8:14Speaker 2: of my commodity stocks are still going down? Commodities are
- 8:19Speaker 2: a hedge against inflation.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I don't know. You'd have to ask him. All I
- 8:23Speaker 1: can tell you is there's a lot of inflation out there.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I live it every day. And I'm sure you do, too.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Well, I'm going by memory, but one of the financial
- 8:34Speaker 2: headlines yesterday was a CEO of a larger bank said
- 8:42Speaker 2: he's firing thousands of workers because he's He considers them
- 8:48Speaker 2: to be low-value capital, and he's going to replace them
- 8:55Speaker 2: with investments in AI technology.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Well, there is... I think that's a coming problem, though,
- 9:01Speaker 1: for Lauderdale, Frank. I mean, I just, when people are
- 9:04Speaker 1: talking about this, what was it, you follow this, Meta
- 9:08Speaker 1: or Facebook got rid of 9,000, 10,000 people replaced by AI,
- 9:11Speaker 1: and now you're saying that you're going to see this
- 9:13Speaker 1: at whatever that bank or institution you're talking about. I
- 9:17Speaker 1: think it's a tip of the iceberg, don't you?
- 9:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I sure do. And, you know, Ron Paul, I'm
- 9:26Speaker 2: going to read you his latest article. because I think
- 9:29Speaker 2: it's worth knowing. He said there's a worldwide surge in
- 9:38Speaker 2: interest rates paid by government bonds all over the world.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I think that's because a lot of people are scared
- 9:46Speaker 2: of this war, and they're keeping their money in the bank,
- 9:51Speaker 2: and the only way to get them to buy government bonds,
- 9:55Speaker 2: because so many governments are deep in debt, and with
- 9:59Speaker 2: this war and a possible global depression, the only way
- 10:05Speaker 2: you can get people to buy government bonds is to
- 10:08Speaker 2: raise the interest rates.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and in other words, how you get interest in it.
- 10:13Speaker 1: I think Rich, a pharmacist, I thought he summed it
- 10:16Speaker 1: up pretty good. If I bounce this off of you,
- 10:20Speaker 1: it's a quagmire. I mean, I think that is where
- 10:24Speaker 1: we are at the present time. Listen, I go back
- 10:27Speaker 1: to say this. Have you noticed if you criticize anything
- 10:31Speaker 1: Trump does that you got... These people that think unless
- 10:34Speaker 1: you agree with everything Trump does, then you're bad news
- 10:39Speaker 1: for some reason. I mean, it's you can't disagree with
- 10:42Speaker 1: Trump on anything. You've got to be like have blinders
- 10:45Speaker 1: on the same stuff. I bitched when you had Biden
- 10:47Speaker 1: supporters who did the same thing. It didn't matter what
- 10:50Speaker 1: was reality or anything. They supported Biden. And I thought,
- 10:54Speaker 1: how can you be that out of touch with stuff? Well,
- 10:58Speaker 1: you got a lot of people on the Republican side
- 11:00Speaker 1: that are doing the same thing. And when I say
- 11:02Speaker 1: I say that because I say I don't think that
- 11:04Speaker 1: this war was a good idea from the very beginning.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I mean, if I said to you, Frank, I wasn't
- 11:10Speaker 1: staying up at night worried about Iran and a nuclear weapon.
- 11:14Speaker 1: I wasn't up at night. It wasn't really discussed anywhere
- 11:18Speaker 1: on any regular basis that this was a big threat. Well,
- 11:21Speaker 1: I mean, we dropped the bunker buster. That was the
- 11:23Speaker 1: end of it. All this stuff is buried underground and
- 11:26Speaker 1: mission accomplished and this kind of stuff. OK, that was
- 11:30Speaker 1: a bunker buster. So I still say we got into
- 11:35Speaker 1: this because of Netanyahu. I really think that's why he
- 11:39Speaker 1: reversed himself. I mean, I am genuinely troubled by his
- 11:44Speaker 1: reversal on the Epstein files, by his reversal on his
- 11:49Speaker 1: stand in the Middle East when it comes to this
- 11:51Speaker 1: war situation. But what's happening, by his not giving attention
- 11:57Speaker 1: to getting people who are in this country out of
- 11:59Speaker 1: this country that are here illegally, that seems to be
- 12:02Speaker 1: totally vanished off the radar screen at any level of
- 12:07Speaker 1: notoriety and the affordability issue. So I think he's in
- 12:11Speaker 1: a hell of a spot right now. Don't you?
- 12:16Speaker 2: Yes, and I'm glad you keep saying that because I
- 12:20Speaker 2: was the one that originally pointed out that Margie Taylor
- 12:24Speaker 2: Greene was one of his first supporters. She was MAGA
- 12:30Speaker 2: all the way. As soon as she started criticizing Israel
- 12:35Speaker 2: and saying, hey, keep the money at home, people in Georgia.
- 12:40Speaker 2: I say, why are we giving all this money to
- 12:42Speaker 2: Israel when people at home need help? And I also
- 12:46Speaker 2: pointed out that Thomas Massey, the AIPAC in the Israel lobby,
- 12:53Speaker 2: They pledged to spend unlimited amounts of money, whatever it took,
- 13:01Speaker 2: to unseat Massey.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I was reading today it might be the most expensive
- 13:06Speaker 1: congressional race ever. And here's what troubles me about it.
- 13:12Speaker 1: I agree with Massey. When people say about foreign aid,
- 13:16Speaker 1: Massey's opposed to foreign aid, period.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Period.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Not just Israel. He's opposed to foreign aid to Israel, Egypt, everywhere.
- 13:24Speaker 1: His argument is, we're $ 40 trillion in debt. We can't
- 13:27Speaker 1: afford any of this foreign aid. We should stop it
- 13:31Speaker 1: all and take care of America first. You know as
- 13:33Speaker 1: well as I do, we're talking about a situation, the
- 13:38Speaker 1: financial issues with Social Security and Medicare. When are we
- 13:42Speaker 1: going to address the concerns in our own country with
- 13:45Speaker 1: our own American people? This is the argument that the
- 13:47Speaker 1: Masseys and Margie Taylor Greene are making. What are we
- 13:52Speaker 1: giving billions of dollars away to all of these countries
- 13:56Speaker 1: when we can't afford to do it? So he's against
- 13:58Speaker 1: foreign aid. So right away, he's pinpointed as a result
- 14:02Speaker 1: of that to say, okay, he's got to go. I don't...
- 14:08Speaker 1: And of course, he's opposed to how the Epstein files
- 14:11Speaker 1: are being handled, as was Marjorie Taylor Greene. And as
- 14:15Speaker 1: you said, these are some of his best supporters. And
- 14:18Speaker 1: he's turned on them all of a sudden.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Well, you know, I said last year, I said, Ron,
- 14:25Speaker 2: Massey votes for the Republicans 97% of the time. About
- 14:31Speaker 2: the only time he doesn't vote with the Republicans is
- 14:34Speaker 2: foreign aid or uh... aid to israel or given weapons
- 14:38Speaker 2: of israel so they're going on cedar a guy that
- 14:42Speaker 2: votes for republicans ninety seven percent of the time what
- 14:46Speaker 2: is trump in the republican party doing but you know
- 14:50Speaker 2: what the the democrats You know what?
- 14:55Speaker 1: Now, see, Ted the Conservative says Massey only votes with
- 14:58Speaker 1: Republicans 75% of the time. But... All right, back to it.
- 15:10Speaker 1: News Radio 570 WKBN. Where is Fort Lauderdale, Frank?
- 15:14Speaker 4: Frank? Not him.
- 15:17Speaker 1: All right, Frank?
- 15:20Speaker 4: Yeah, Ron..
- 15:21Speaker 2: Even though inflation hit a three-year high at 3.8%, American wages,
- 15:25Speaker 2: they have increased on average 3.6%. So they're still falling behind.
- 15:37Speaker 2: the cost of living.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Here's an email for you. Tell Frank, who is supposedly
- 15:42Speaker 1: such a financial guru, that if he would just read
- 15:45Speaker 1: today's Wall Street Journal, he would quickly discover the reason
- 15:49Speaker 1: treasury yields are up is because foreign government, specifically Japan
- 15:54Speaker 1: and China, are selling the treasuries they hold to defend
- 15:58Speaker 1: their currencies, which have weakened as the dollar has strengthened
- 16:02Speaker 1: during this war, because they are selling them. The price
- 16:06Speaker 1: of the treasury's the price of the treasuries is going down,
- 16:11Speaker 1: which causes the yield on the treasuries to go up.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I don't, okay, but that's the bottom line.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Well, you tell this emailer that I read the Wall
- 16:21Speaker 2: Street Journal and other publications, and I said that the
- 16:26Speaker 2: Chinese government is told that Their big banks do not
- 16:32Speaker 2: buy any more Treasury debt, so he needs to know that.
- 16:37Speaker 2: I'm well informed of what's going on in the global
- 16:41Speaker 2: bond market, and that's correct. When interest rates go up,
- 16:47Speaker 2: the price of bonds go down, but you also tell
- 16:51Speaker 2: this e-mailer, that most people buy bonds to hold to maturity.
- 16:57Speaker 2: They're not going to sell them before maturity. Now, also,
- 17:05Speaker 2: as far as the Democrat Party, Ron, the Democrat Party
- 17:09Speaker 2: has like $ 14. 9 million in cash, but they owe, from
- 17:15Speaker 2: the Kamala Harris campaign, something like $ 17 million. So the
- 17:22Speaker 2: net amount, they're in debt. And a lot of big
- 17:25Speaker 2: Democrat donors to the party have been polled. And they said, look,
- 17:32Speaker 2: we're not going to contribute money to the Democrat Party
- 17:37Speaker 2: just to get them out of debt. And I think
- 17:41Speaker 2: the Democrat Party is on the way of the dodo bird.
- 17:45Speaker 2: All these people... They're worried about the Republicans in the midterm.
- 17:52Speaker 2: It takes a ton of money to run political campaigns,
- 17:57Speaker 2: and the Republicans are sitting on a.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Ton of money. Okay, go out on a limb. Do
- 18:03Speaker 1: you think Massey will survive today or not?
- 18:06Speaker 2: Well, I sure hope so, but I tell you what,
- 18:09Speaker 2: if he can survive, that's going to send a strong
- 18:12Speaker 2: message out to the Israeli lobby that, It's going to
- 18:17Speaker 2: require trillions of dollars.
- 18:19Speaker 1: I support it. I'm totally opposed to foreign aid. I'm totally,
- 18:22Speaker 1: I completely, I agree with him. And listen, I don't think..
- 18:26Speaker 2: Well, in most foreign aid, first of all, Israel's the
- 18:30Speaker 2: biggest recipient.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I'm just against any of it.
- 18:32Speaker 2: It's supposed to be for starving countries, right?
- 18:35Speaker 4: Right.
- 18:35Speaker 1: I'm just opposed to it. Appreciate it. Thank you, Frank.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Back with more in a minute. Ron Furb from the kingdom.
- 18:40Speaker 1: By Estella's Pharma. News Radio 570 WKVN. Back to it.
- 18:44Speaker 1: News Radio 570 WKVN. And Ron Furb, and you're on
- 18:47Speaker 1: the air. Hello there.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Ronald.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, Ted the Conservative.
- 18:53Speaker 4: You know, I was calling in the conversation. And now
- 18:56Speaker 4: I've got a comment on a few of your calls. First,
- 18:59Speaker 4: I strongly disagree with Rich the pharmacist. I think the
- 19:04Speaker 4: experience is... gained by a student athlete better prepare him
- 19:09Speaker 4: for the real world, him or her, better prepare them
- 19:13Speaker 4: for the real world than any student that's not involved
- 19:17Speaker 4: in extracurricular activities on a competition level of being an athlete.
- 19:24Speaker 4: I mean, those kids from the rigid scheduling, they have
- 19:29Speaker 4: to prioritize under exhaustion. They learn to work as a team.
- 19:34Speaker 4: They learn to... Objectively take criticism. They learn to critically
- 19:38Speaker 4: think like a snap of a finger. They learn how
- 19:42Speaker 4: to tolerate pain, discomfort, thresholds that the average guy doesn't
- 19:46Speaker 4: like to deal with. They're accountable, strict. accountability um they
- 19:52Speaker 4: they share a collective consequence with the team in other
- 19:56Speaker 4: words for that team to be successful every 22 guys
- 20:00Speaker 4: on that football field have got to work together as
- 20:02Speaker 4: one so there's just so many things that kids learn
- 20:06Speaker 4: um I don't agree with a lot of Rich's positions
- 20:11Speaker 4: when it comes to post-secondary education. I don't know. I
- 20:15Speaker 4: think he thinks kids should just go sit in the classroom,
- 20:18Speaker 4: get an education, and leave. I think universities, I think
- 20:20Speaker 4: there's a big difference in universities, whether it's Ivy League
- 20:24Speaker 4: schools or the Youngstown State Universities of the world, schools
- 20:27Speaker 4: that specialize in engineering. Those schools are the same. I
- 20:31Speaker 4: just disagree with him on everything he said. J.J.? smoke
- 20:36Speaker 4: a little bit more weed before you call Ron would
- 20:38Speaker 4: be my next suggestion. I don't know what he was
- 20:42Speaker 4: getting at with that whole ballroom thing. None of it
- 20:45Speaker 4: made sense. I don't know how that compared to him
- 20:48Speaker 4: putting a pool in his backyard and selling his house
- 20:51Speaker 4: and not recouping the funds invested in the pool. This
- 20:54Speaker 4: is a ballroom that is the people's ballroom that will
- 20:57Speaker 4: be used for Decades and decades to come. I mean,
- 21:01Speaker 4: how many I don't even know offhand how many renovations
- 21:04Speaker 4: have been done to the White House. But, you know,
- 21:07Speaker 4: the building has been renovated. I would I would feel
- 21:11Speaker 4: safe to say dozens of times. I don't think J.J.
- 21:16Speaker 4: complained when the Biden team basically put a studio in there.
- 21:21Speaker 4: with a huge teleprompter. So when we thought Biden was
- 21:25Speaker 4: sitting in the Oval Office, he was sitting in a
- 21:28Speaker 4: make-believe room with a monitor the size of a wall
- 21:32Speaker 4: that he could read and act like he had a pulse. So,
- 21:36Speaker 4: so many, just so many crazy things. And then, Frank,
- 21:39Speaker 4: there's Fasten and there's Frank. You know, your one caller
- 21:42Speaker 4: shot him down immediately. You've heard one guy take.
- 21:45Speaker 6: His investment advice and lost, what, $ 30, 000 or something like that.
- 21:51Speaker 6: Now he says Tom Massey votes 97% of the time
- 21:54Speaker 6: with Republicans.
- 21:55Speaker 4: That's just false. All you need is a computer, and
- 21:59Speaker 4: you can get on there. You don't even have to categorize,
- 22:03Speaker 4: as Ron Rubin would say. You just go into your
- 22:05Speaker 4: favorite AI platform and ask the simple questions, and it
- 22:10Speaker 4: gives you a simple answer. Tom Massey votes against Republicans 23%
- 22:16Speaker 4: of the time. That means he votes... Only 70, what, 77%
- 22:23Speaker 4: of the time for the party. Now, we think that
- 22:28Speaker 4: the guy next door in Pennsylvania does a great job.
- 22:32Speaker 4: He only votes with Republicans one or two percent of
- 22:34Speaker 4: the time. So think about that. Okay? Put that into perspective.
- 22:39Speaker 4: Massey voted against the one big, beautiful bill. What's your
- 22:44Speaker 4: response to that, Ronald?
- 22:47Speaker 1: AI tells you what he voted. It didn't tell you
- 22:50Speaker 1: why he voted against it or what he disagreed with
- 22:54Speaker 1: in the bill. You've been a champion of the big,
- 22:58Speaker 1: beautiful bill, have you not? No, stand by. To fully
- 23:02Speaker 1: understand why somebody voted the way they voted, you'd have
- 23:06Speaker 1: to ask them why specifically did you do that? I
- 23:09Speaker 1: do not fall into the category and I think... It's
- 23:13Speaker 1: of concern to me that I think to a certain
- 23:16Speaker 1: extent you're either with Trump or you're against Trump. And
- 23:20Speaker 1: I say this to you. I don't go down that road.
- 23:23Speaker 1: I question people who were like that with Joe Biden,
- 23:26Speaker 1: who refused to analytically look at him or his deficiencies,
- 23:32Speaker 1: and they totally didn't acknowledge any of it because they
- 23:35Speaker 1: were with Biden 100% because they were good Democrats. And
- 23:39Speaker 1: they voted that way, and they hit all this stuff
- 23:42Speaker 1: with Biden. Well, I don't like that with Democrats any
- 23:46Speaker 1: more than I like it with Republicans. I think dissent
- 23:51Speaker 1: within a party is not a bad thing. I mean,
- 23:54Speaker 1: I am deeply concerned, and I just share this with
- 23:56Speaker 1: you once again. I'm deeply concerned with the attacks on
- 24:00Speaker 1: people who supported Trump, who we had him on the stage,
- 24:03Speaker 1: and because they disagree with him on some issues. And
- 24:06Speaker 1: believe me, there is plenty to disagree with on the
- 24:08Speaker 1: Iran situation. We should never be a party or a
- 24:12Speaker 1: country of people that walk in lockstep and say, whatever
- 24:14Speaker 1: this guy says, I'm 100% for. Because I don't know
- 24:18Speaker 1: if Trump is compromised. I don't know why he did
- 24:21Speaker 1: what he did. Is it worth a discussion about it?
- 24:25Speaker 1: I mean, there's some things that I sit back and wonder.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I don't know anything more about the shooters that try
- 24:31Speaker 1: to shoot Trump with him as president. I don't know
- 24:35Speaker 1: anything more about him than I did before he was president.
- 24:39Speaker 1: And so a lot of the stuff that he said
- 24:41Speaker 1: he was going to do that I should know more
- 24:43Speaker 1: about is as a citizen, which I agree. I think
- 24:46Speaker 1: the government hides way too much from us. Where is it?
- 24:50Speaker 1: So so I can sit here and I can. But
- 24:54Speaker 1: I'm just saying I can be critical of Trump. And
- 24:56Speaker 1: I can sit here and say, I mean, to a
- 24:59Speaker 1: large extent, the more I would read and read about
- 25:01Speaker 1: this stuff, it seems to me that Trump did a
- 25:05Speaker 1: 180 on this because of Netanyahu and because of Israel.
- 25:09Speaker 1: And I think that's why he got into this. And
- 25:12Speaker 1: I sincerely believe that he thought this would be over
- 25:14Speaker 1: much sooner than it is. And it's not over. And
- 25:18Speaker 1: the signs don't show that it's going to be over
- 25:20Speaker 1: anytime soon. Well, how long do you stay with this?
- 25:24Speaker 1: You know, is a quagmire is where it says, is
- 25:27Speaker 1: it in that type of situation? How much how much
- 25:31Speaker 1: more ignoring this the American first agenda? Or everybody's saying,
- 25:37Speaker 1: I don't care what gas prices are or inflation is.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Most people didn't worry about Iran and a nuclear weapon
- 25:43Speaker 1: before they were sold this, I guess, on Fox or
- 25:46Speaker 1: sold it by this mission taking place. I wasn't up
- 25:50Speaker 1: at night worrying about it. I wasn't concerned about it.
- 25:53Speaker 1: We dropped the bunker buster. That was it. Everything's taken
- 25:56Speaker 1: care of. We bombed the living hell out of them,
- 25:59Speaker 1: and everything's compromised now. So at what point do you
- 26:04Speaker 1: declare somewhat of a victory? We set them back. They're
- 26:08Speaker 1: not launching a bunch of stuff. At what point do
- 26:10Speaker 1: you say, I think we made the point? At what
- 26:13Speaker 1: point do you just stay another year, another six months?
- 26:17Speaker 1: Do you let gas oil prices go up? If you
- 26:20Speaker 1: actually read some of this stuff, they're talking about an
- 26:22Speaker 1: oil shortage. Even if this thing ends of getting oil moving,
- 26:26Speaker 1: an actual oil shortage of lubricants, oil and lubricants. I mean,
- 26:31Speaker 1: if you read some of this stuff and we're talking
- 26:35Speaker 1: not just in the United States, but globally, it's of concern.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I mean, I don't want to destroy the American economy
- 26:41Speaker 1: with inflation and high gas prices and all this other
- 26:45Speaker 1: bull crap as a result of this situation in Iran.
- 26:49Speaker 1: We're not getting a lot of people out of this
- 26:51Speaker 1: country like Iran. People wanted these people out of the country.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Let me just lay this on you and get your reaction.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I think the Democrats won in Minnesota. You know, they
- 27:04Speaker 1: made their point after those shootings and they won. And
- 27:07Speaker 1: I'm going to give you this analysis and I want
- 27:08Speaker 1: to hear from Ted the conservative. So all of you
- 27:10Speaker 1: just got to have to bear with this because I'm
- 27:13Speaker 1: interested in what Ted has to say about this. I
- 27:16Speaker 1: say to all of you, the Democrats won by destroying
- 27:23Speaker 1: the Doge movement. Let me put it that way. They
- 27:27Speaker 1: destroyed Elon Musk. They went out there, all the stuff
- 27:31Speaker 1: he was exposing, but they went out and they launched
- 27:34Speaker 1: an attack against him. He's a Nazi. They launched an
- 27:37Speaker 1: attack against his dealerships with violence. They launched an attack
- 27:42Speaker 1: against people who drove the cars by scratching them. They
- 27:46Speaker 1: did all of this crap, which is despicable to me.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Absolutely despicable. But when the dust settled, Doge was out.
- 27:57Speaker 1: So I sit back and say, well, they won. Elon
- 28:00Speaker 1: Musk is gone. Doge is gone. The waste is continuing on.
- 28:05Speaker 1: No one's going to do a damn thing about it.
- 28:07Speaker 1: They say J.D. Vance will. Well, I'll wait and see
- 28:09Speaker 1: what happens. And then I sit back and say, well,
- 28:12Speaker 1: where are these people? So that's number one. So I
- 28:15Speaker 1: think the Democrats won there in defeating Doge.
- 28:18Speaker 4: And I think I'm going to respond to that.
- 28:20Speaker 1: And no, I'm going to I'm going to let you
- 28:21Speaker 1: just keep track of it for me. Just keep it
- 28:23Speaker 1: in your mind. Number two, I think that's a dangerous thing. Okay.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Now you're just screwing with me.
- 28:38Speaker 4: I'm being serious. Go ahead. I'm listening. Okay.
- 28:43Speaker 1: And in Minnesota, they won by getting, they got rid
- 28:46Speaker 1: of the border guy. They got rid of the Barbie
- 28:50Speaker 1: doll that was running ice. They, they got all these
- 28:53Speaker 1: people out and, and all of a sudden when they
- 28:57Speaker 1: were out ice left, Nothing more there. And you're not
- 29:02Speaker 1: seeing any of these big deportations going on anywhere in
- 29:06Speaker 1: the country. It's just like it disappeared. It's like it
- 29:11Speaker 1: was like, wow, we took a lot of political pressure
- 29:14Speaker 1: and heat. And it's kind of like mediocre now. So
- 29:19Speaker 1: I think they've won on that. I don't think he's
- 29:21Speaker 1: doing the deportations like people voted for him to do
- 29:25Speaker 1: on any good high level of getting people out of
- 29:28Speaker 1: here because of the controversy. So Doge is gone. That's gone.
- 29:33Speaker 1: He didn't release the Epstein files. Like he said, that's gone.
- 29:36Speaker 1: He reversed himself on, the war to a certain extent.
- 29:41Speaker 1: And sometimes I'm going to tell you, I do sit
- 29:43Speaker 1: back and wonder in my own head, I'm just leveling
- 29:45Speaker 1: with you to get your reaction to all of this,
- 29:49Speaker 1: if they don't have something on him. Who is they?
- 29:51Speaker 1: And when I say they, Netanyahu. Do they have something
- 29:55Speaker 1: on this guy that he could so reverse his own
- 29:58Speaker 1: agenda and his own priorities of the things he thought
- 30:02Speaker 1: was most important that he stood for, that he got
- 30:06Speaker 1: elected on, that he reversed them so dramatically?
- 30:10Speaker 4: I'll tell you why Democrats are winning the narrative in Minnesota,
- 30:14Speaker 4: on Israel, and everywhere else. Very simple. They are dividing
- 30:19Speaker 4: the Republican Party. They're bringing up divisive issues, and they're
- 30:24Speaker 4: inserting them, and that's what they're using.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Wait, wait, wait, just going to interrupt one thing. Are
- 30:31Speaker 1: they dividing the Republican Party, or is Trump dividing the
- 30:34Speaker 1: Republican Party?
- 30:35Speaker 4: No, no, no. And here's, I'm going to use the analogy.
- 30:39Speaker 4: Outside sources, Democrats are dividing the party so they can win,
- 30:43Speaker 4: and they're very, very good at it. We've talked about
- 30:46Speaker 4: this in the past, how Nancy Pelosi would march through
- 30:50Speaker 4: that agenda of theirs, never be dissent. It would come
- 30:55Speaker 4: out to the public floor and it would get done. Now,
- 30:59Speaker 4: you've got me jumping all over the place here, but
- 31:01Speaker 4: let me back up first to Massey. Now, I could
- 31:04Speaker 4: be wrong, but I thought Ron Verb was a champion
- 31:06Speaker 4: of the big, beautiful bill. I've heard you many, many
- 31:08Speaker 4: times talk about the great things it's done.
- 31:11Speaker 1: But there are also many people, and I can't get
- 31:14Speaker 1: them off the top of my head, there were many
- 31:15Speaker 1: things in that bill that a lot of people didn't like.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I mean, there are some things..
- 31:19Speaker 4: I would think it's that 99% approval rate from Republicans.
- 31:24Speaker 1: No, Republicans too. I mean, there are some things that
- 31:27Speaker 1: I support, but I do wonder about some stuff. Why
- 31:30Speaker 1: is everything just for three years? No tax on tip. Well,
- 31:33Speaker 1: that ends in three years.
- 31:34Speaker 4: That's a legislative matter.
- 31:36Speaker 1: I understand it.
- 31:38Speaker 4: Because of the Tom Massies of the world, that's why.
- 31:41Speaker 1: No, it's not the Tom Massies of the world.
- 31:42Speaker 4: You need so many votes to get these things done.
- 31:46Speaker 4: passed legislatively different ways.
- 31:48Speaker 1: All right, so let me back up. It's not the
- 31:52Speaker 1: Tom Massey's of the world. It's the Republican Party itself.
- 31:57Speaker 1: It's not taking a lot of these executive orders and
- 32:00Speaker 1: made them into law. The Republican Party... No, no. I'm
- 32:05Speaker 1: going to say to you, if you take a look
- 32:10Speaker 1: at the amount of money being spent to defeat Tom
- 32:12Speaker 1: Massey and where it's coming from, because he doesn't support
- 32:16Speaker 1: foreign aid, and where that money's coming from to get
- 32:19Speaker 1: him out of there.
- 32:19Speaker 4: Okay, where's Tom Massey getting his money? What about the
- 32:23Speaker 4: Iranian billionaire that's funneling money to him and to Marjorie
- 32:28Speaker 4: Taylor Greene?
- 32:28Speaker 1: I don't know. First of all, a lot of the
- 32:31Speaker 1: stuff they've launched campaigns against Massey And his relationships and
- 32:39Speaker 1: Marjorie Taylor Greene and all this kind of to discredit them. But,
- 32:42Speaker 1: you know, you're sitting back and I'm saying with all
- 32:45Speaker 1: of this, Marjorie Taylor Greene was helping Trump get elected
- 32:47Speaker 1: and was there all along.
- 32:48Speaker 4: I agree.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Till he turned on her. Okay, by God. No, wait
- 32:52Speaker 1: a minute. If you agree with that completely, if you
- 32:55Speaker 1: agree with that completely, he attacked her. And I don't
- 33:00Speaker 1: support that. On a personal level, he did that. He
- 33:03Speaker 1: attacked Tucker Carlson. He attacked Margie Taylor Greene. He attacked...
- 33:07Speaker 1: All of a sudden, these people are low IQ. Were
- 33:09Speaker 1: they low IQ when they were standing there when he
- 33:11Speaker 1: needed their help to get reelected?
- 33:12Speaker 4: That's because he's a narcissist, Ron. You have to agree
- 33:15Speaker 4: with him 100% of the time, or you're no good
- 33:18Speaker 4: in his world.
- 33:19Speaker 1: And that is where he is with Tom Massey on
- 33:21Speaker 1: that kind of stuff. Listen, I don't know anybody that
- 33:26Speaker 1: I agree with 100% on anything. But I will say this.
- 33:28Speaker 4: Well, you've got to agree with your wife, or you're
- 33:30Speaker 4: going to be in trouble.
- 33:31Speaker 1: No, I don't agree with that.
- 33:32Speaker 4: If you don't agree, you have to agree.
- 33:33Speaker 1: I don't agree with everybody on 100% of everything. But
- 33:37Speaker 1: by God, if you agree in general, in general, like
- 33:40Speaker 1: I said, I would never vote for a Democrat. I
- 33:43Speaker 1: can disagree with Trump on these particular items.
- 33:46Speaker 4: Let me finish, because I'm going to lose my train
- 33:47Speaker 4: of thought. You asked me another question. I did. Why
- 33:51Speaker 4: the dissent? I know, you got me. I'm not Denny
- 33:54Speaker 4: from Rock Creek. I'm not keeping notes over here. I'm
- 33:56Speaker 4: working in the kitchen, and you got me stressed out. Division.
- 34:02Speaker 4: So we made an analogy. I gave you an analogy
- 34:04Speaker 4: of a football team and how they operate as one
- 34:08Speaker 4: unit and how those kids bring a special characteristic out
- 34:11Speaker 4: of college. A political party is no different than a football.
- 34:16Speaker 4: You practice all week, okay? And you have a game Friday, Saturday, Sunday,
- 34:21Speaker 4: whatever your team plays. Well, you're practicing all week. There's
- 34:24Speaker 4: a lot of disagreement. That disagreement stays within the team.
- 34:28Speaker 4: Fights amongst each other stays within the team. But guess what?
- 34:32Speaker 4: On game day, when it's time to perform, they come
- 34:34Speaker 4: out as one solid unit. And we're not seeing that
- 34:38Speaker 4: in the Republican Party. The Democrats do it outstandingly. job
- 34:43Speaker 4: of that. They say they are united, and you would
- 34:46Speaker 4: never know that they have disagreements in the back room.
- 34:48Speaker 4: Nancy Pelosi ran that gavel like a well-oiled machine. Republicans,
- 34:54Speaker 4: too many egos involved, and that's what kills an athletic team.
- 34:58Speaker 4: And you can use this analogy on anything in life,
- 35:00Speaker 4: any organization. You can break it down to sports.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Let me ask you a question as you're going along.
- 35:06Speaker 1: I think too many Republicans... are just as bad as
- 35:11Speaker 1: career Democrats. I don't know that they sign on to
- 35:14Speaker 1: this stuff. I mean, I think it's a fair question
- 35:17Speaker 1: when Massey says, we can't afford foreign aid anywhere, including Israel, Egypt,
- 35:22Speaker 1: everywhere else. And he's right. When do we put America...
- 35:25Speaker 1: We are facing a serious issue with Social Security and Medicare.
- 35:31Speaker 4: I don't know what Mas... I think Massey's a libertarian.
- 35:33Speaker 4: I think his issue... He's not a real Republican. I
- 35:36Speaker 4: think his libertarian... and he votes and he's registered as
- 35:39Speaker 4: a Republican to get elected. If he ran as a Libertarian,
- 35:42Speaker 4: he would never be elected. He is against, he's kind
- 35:45Speaker 4: of like a Rand Paul.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Stand by, stand by, stand by. Back with Ted the
- 35:49Speaker 1: Conservative in a minute. News Radio 570, WKBN, stay close.
- 35:53Speaker 1: News Radio 570, WKBN. All right, I'm supposed to read
- 35:57Speaker 1: this to you, okay? Oh boy. For Ted the Conservative, no.
- 36:02Speaker 1: According to AI Answer that I found, Frank and Ted
- 36:06Speaker 1: are both wrong on Massey's voting record. 80 to 90
- 36:09Speaker 1: percent is what I found. Massey voting against the big,
- 36:12Speaker 1: beautiful bill was smart because so much of the bill
- 36:14Speaker 1: was an extension of Biden's insane spending. That's what he
- 36:19Speaker 1: wanted me to pass along to you. That's why. He
- 36:21Speaker 1: voted against the big, beautiful bill. And I think there
- 36:24Speaker 1: were other..
- 36:25Speaker 4: I'm not sure what your source is, but I'm going
- 36:27Speaker 4: to pull up mine right now.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I'm just reading you what the guy said from his AI.
- 36:31Speaker 1: His AI against your AI, I would say that. But
- 36:34Speaker 1: let me back up. Let me back up. Okay, you
- 36:38Speaker 1: back up.
- 36:39Speaker 4: Let me ask the great Ron Virk, because you got
- 36:42Speaker 4: me confused. You pulled a Donald Trump on me. You
- 36:45Speaker 4: hit me with so many things. I look like a Democrat.
- 36:47Speaker 4: I don't know how to respond and what to respond to.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Well, and you've got a leg problem, too, so yeah.
- 36:54Speaker 4: So most of the time, these AI things will give
- 36:56Speaker 4: you the resources. The Kentucky Lantern is one of the resources.
- 37:02Speaker 4: These are local papers. The Kentucky Lantern that has come
- 37:06Speaker 4: up with his voting record. So I stand by the
- 37:09Speaker 4: information I'm looking at. They used the New Yorker as
- 37:12Speaker 4: another one.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Why do you think they're spending so much money against him?
- 37:17Speaker 4: I mean, I mean, Washington Examiner, Louisville Public Media. So
- 37:20Speaker 4: these are all I'm talking. I'm giving you I'm giving
- 37:23Speaker 4: you the sources of my information. So I stand by
- 37:26Speaker 4: my numbers. But let me back up because you got
- 37:27Speaker 4: me all confused. I got to hit the reset button.
- 37:31Speaker 4: So you and I are big, big complainers of the
- 37:37Speaker 4: spender of the House.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Yes.
- 37:40Speaker 4: And useless John Thune because they don't move forward the
- 37:44Speaker 4: Trump agenda. That's because we don't have unity in the
- 37:48Speaker 4: Republican Party to do so. And now here we are
- 37:53Speaker 4: talking about Representative Massey, who is one of the obstacles
- 37:57Speaker 4: to moving the Trump agenda forward. But you're supporting him.
- 38:01Speaker 4: So help me understand. I'm confused. Well, you do this
- 38:07Speaker 4: a lot. No, I think you do it on purpose.
- 38:09Speaker 1: No, I don't. I don't do it.
- 38:11Speaker 4: We don't know where you stand.
- 38:13Speaker 1: I'm a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction. Is
- 38:15Speaker 1: that what you're saying? To quote Chris?
- 38:18Speaker 4: Okay, Einstein, to quote your wife.
- 38:20Speaker 1: That's Chris Christopherson. Listen, what I'm saying is, you can't.
- 38:25Speaker 4: Have it both ways.
- 38:28Speaker 1: You can have the agenda, or you can have Tom Massey.
- 38:30Speaker 4: So which one do you want? Do you want the self-agenda,
- 38:32Speaker 4: or do you want Tom Massey?
- 38:33Speaker 1: I do not want..
- 38:34Speaker 4: No, no, yes or no?
- 38:36Speaker 1: No, I do not want Republicans walking in lockstep like Democrats.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I want people to act as Americans.
- 38:43Speaker 4: You're not going to get the Trump agenda.
- 38:46Speaker 1: I'm going to answer your question. No, I can get
- 38:49Speaker 1: the Trump agenda because on these issues, the majority of
- 38:53Speaker 1: them will agree with it. It's just that the spender
- 38:58Speaker 1: of the.
- 38:58Speaker 4: House isn't... Because they don't have enough members.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Well, they don't have 60. They're not going to overcome that.
- 39:03Speaker 1: They don't have 6,000 members. They can't even get.
- 39:05Speaker 4: Their own people to vote for it. There's different ways.
- 39:08Speaker 1: I don't think the problem is Massey.
- 39:09Speaker 4: Different rules to get this thing done, but they can't
- 39:11Speaker 4: even do it because the party is not united. Because
- 39:14Speaker 4: the guys like Tom Massey are in the way.
- 39:15Speaker 1: I don't agree with that. I don't agree with that.
- 39:18Speaker 1: So I really don't agree with that at all.
- 39:21Speaker 4: Okay. That's just my opinion.
- 39:23Speaker 1: I just don't.
- 39:23Speaker 4: You know what I'll get you?
- 39:25Speaker 1: What? Nothing.
- 39:26Speaker 4: Nothing.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Well, I don't know. I kind of like it. I
- 39:28Speaker 1: kind of respect it. I enjoy hearing it, quite frankly.
- 39:32Speaker 1: It's kind of the highlight of the day. Wow. Let
- 39:37Speaker 1: me put it this way. I think it's okay to...
- 39:41Speaker 1: I look at Fetterman and I admire..
- 39:44Speaker 4: It's okay to disagree.
- 39:45Speaker 1: I admire Fetterman that he doesn't walk the Democrat line
- 39:50Speaker 1: and he can stray from it. Well, I'm not going
- 39:52Speaker 1: to attack somebody in a Republican party who also does that,
- 39:56Speaker 1: who says, I don't agree with this. I don't agree
- 39:58Speaker 1: with the war. I don't agree with foreign aid. I
- 40:00Speaker 1: don't agree with this. I'll leave you with that thought.
- 40:04Speaker 1: All right?
- 40:05Speaker 7: Okay, sir.
- 40:06Speaker 4: You have a good day.

- 40:49Speaker 5: to apply and you don't think you should get money out.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Of this fund.
- 40:51Speaker 5: So isn't it just as easy to say that people
- 40:53Speaker 5: that attacked police officers should not get taxpayer money from
- 40:58Speaker 5: this fund?
- 40:59Speaker 7: Well, look, John, we're not trying to give money to
- 41:01Speaker 7: anybody who attacked a police officer. We're trying to give money,
