- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: I had to go right to the source on this.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Uh and we have longtime longtime friend of the show, Natalie.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: We actually just called her because she had text us, texted us, and she uh implied that she has this parasite that is creating the um explosive diarrhea.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: This all stems from Taco Bell.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: They're trying to No no wait.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: They're trying to get ahead of it by pulling all these items from the menu.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: But we're nobody said nobody pointed the finger at him going, you the brown finger.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Nobody pointed it at him going, you guys did this.
- 0:33SPEAKER_02: Right, because it it's there's no confirmation.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: There's nothing.
- 0:36SPEAKER_02: No, no sources are saying that it came from Taco Bell.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: But now you got me thinking about it, you know.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: But anyway, I said we gotta call Natalie because I think she's got this.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Your house has this, doesn't they?
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Yes, we do.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Oh God.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: And where do you think you you got it from?
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: Because you know, the Taco Bell thing, as funny as they started their own rumor.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: Um, where do you think you got it?
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: That's a great way to put it.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: So like over the weekend the kid got sick, the toddler, and we're like, oh man, that's terrible, and he had like diarrhea and all the things and vomited.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: We took him to the hospital.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: They're like, Yeah, we don't know.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: Here's some Zofran PDLA.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: See you later.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: We're like, okay, cool.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: And then like Monday, I was like, man, I I don't feel right.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: And then Tuesday was pretty aggressive, and I was like, Oh, I definitely am there's something wrong.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: And my husband's like, Yep, same here, same symptoms.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: It's happening here at the house with both the child and myself.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: And I was like, Oh gosh.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: And so then I was at work and I'm like, Yep, I have to go home because I don't have any more clothes.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: And I'm and I'm I need to go home.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: Your purse underwear had to be used.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: Well and I was like, Oh, I don't have any running clothes, nothing in the car.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Oh, you were running in your clothes.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: So I was like, Well, that happened, and then I you know, I was home all day yesterday, and I feel okay today, but I'm still like now the toddler doesn't need the Zofran, so I'm sucking it down.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: And PDLite, I think I'm gonna try and go to work.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: This is a risk.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: A risk that I don't know if anybody wants you to take.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: But I want you to take a contractor bag and two pairs of clothes.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: I do have two pairs of clothes for sure.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Put a contractor bag right on your phone.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: What's in your sack, Natalie?
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Just don't you worry about it.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Because you had texted you, and I I want to read your text when we were asking, Do you think you have this?
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: You said, Oh yeah, we got the parasite.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: I can confirm symptoms are explosive.
- 2:31SPEAKER_02: So it's may cause a change of pants.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: Oh, God.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: Oh, you poor thing.
- 2:35SPEAKER_02: And then so you didn't actually go to the doctor.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: You're just using the okay, we shouldn't really encourage this, but you're using the medication of your kid.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: But which, I mean, according to the pit, which I just finished yesterday.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: Oh, here we go.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: Big, big no, no.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: But anyway, big no no.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: But the doctor basically said, take the Zofran and then it's gonna go away eventually.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, the and the doctor was like, we could do a stool test for it, but I'm like, I can provide that any second you want.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like you want one right now?
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: You got it.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Um I'm sorry, I'm not laughing at you.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: It's the situation, it's not you.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: All right, so let me ask this.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Did they at any point, and this is important to know because I don't know where the confirmed cases of this parasite are, except for somewhere in Corning on your street.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: But um uh but did they even speculate that it could be this?
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: Because this story is beginning to take off on a national level.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: I heard it there this morning, but I the and and I want to say it was something like 11 states confirmed a case of it or something.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: And then you're like Allie said, Taco Bell started its own rumor, uh, which just to me is beyond wow.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: I know that I feel like that wasn't the wisest marketing move.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: But probably not, but anyway, but what do I know?
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: Did they even suggest or think or even say in passing, well, you know, there's this thing going around?
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Because I want to make sure the medical community here is thinking about that.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying this is gonna be a pandemic.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: Boy, does COVID sound good right now, though, compared to what you're going through?
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: You shut your mouth.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: But uh, you know, I I'm just curious, did they even hint that it could have been?
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: She did.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Yep, the doctor with when we went to the towel for the toddler, she was like, This is what's going around, this is the name of it.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Um, it comes from like fresh produce, all the things, and we're like, Oh, he's kind of a picky eater.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Like, where did I like where did he eat fresh produce?
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: And I I heard that um washing fresh produce won't even get rid of the parasite.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: So you may not even know you're getting it.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: And I was hogging down cherries last night and blueberries.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Guess who's crapping their pants in 20 minutes?
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: The CDC says they now have learned there has been at least 18 states with these cases, including Illinois, Michigan, New York, and Texas.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, go ahead, Scott.
- 4:51SPEAKER_02: That's your question.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Here's what I want to ask Natalie one more time because you're the only person I know uh either A, brave enough to tell us that you're, you know, pooping up the wall.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Uh or uh or go, do you get any relief?
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, sometimes when you're sick and you lay down, you're just like, okay, or do you lay down and it's just constant?
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Because I I mean, just, you know, unfortunately I don't have it right now, but you never know.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I was able to, I mean, I'm able to sleep-ish, but then like you get a pain in your stomach and you're like, oh, what's happening?
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: Like, is it is it happening?
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: Or is it gonna be a problem?
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: Don't test the theory and go right to the bathroom.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: Or you like instantly wake up and go, oh my gosh, um, if I crap this bed.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: You know what you gotta do?
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: You gotta get well, you know what?
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: Contractor bags.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Contractor bags on the bed.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: Okay, one other thing, really quick, too.
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: Symptoms usually occur within two to fourteen days after ingestion, and they're calling it a type of food poisoning.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I guess so.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I would equate it right to food poisoning.
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: Here's some things to avoid.
- 5:51SPEAKER_02: This uh and this is actually the serious side of things.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: Uh first they say wash your hands, of course.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: Thoroughly wash produce, but you know, Scott just said, uh I heard this morning it it you can s it may not get it all.
- 6:03SPEAKER_02: But some foods to avoid for right now, bagged salad mixes, fresh cilantro, oh great.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: I brought a bag salad mix for lunch today.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Hey, I'll be right there with you, Natalie, by one o'clock today, crapping up the walls.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: Get a contractor bag.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: Raspberries, snow peas, and green onions.
- 6:19SPEAKER_02: Scallions, scallions.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: I ate those last night.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: I mean, we were doing salads, like my husband and I were doing, he was doing like a steak salad.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: I was doing my salad, so it could definitely have been a salad type thing.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: And it could be that the kit, yeah, the toddler probably has something completely different because uh everybody at daycare is like a you know, everybody's sick all the damn time, right?
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Did you by chance eat the Taylor Farms Asian cashew chopped kit?
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: Because that's what I'm holding right now.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: That one's so good.
- 6:48SPEAKER_02: I love that one.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: The maple baby bacon bourbon Taylor Farms one is my favorite.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Okay, we'll get to your favorites in a minute.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: I want to know if she ate this and crabbed her pants.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Do I need to immediately do it?
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Okay, wasn't that one?
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: We're good to go.
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: Excellent.
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: Thank you, Natalie.
- 7:02SPEAKER_02: You've been very helpful.
- 7:03SPEAKER_02: Good luck to you.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: Bye, honey.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Sounds about time.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: You uh better go sit on the uh on the throne there, okay?
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, all right.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Oh, I hung up on it.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: Okay.
