  Speaker 1: go to God and prayer, And as always I ask

  Speaker 1: that you join along with me in prayer. If I

  Speaker 1: could be honest with you, I am a recovering people pleaser.

  Speaker 1: I want to make everybody around me happy. I'm always
• 0:21
  Speaker 1: trying to go above and beyond to make sure everybody
• 0:24
  Speaker 1: around me is happy and pleasant, and everybody's enjoying themselves
• 0:27
  Speaker 1: and everybody's getting what they need. But then oftentimes it's
• 0:31
  Speaker 1: to my own detriment. But then it comes down to
• 0:35
  Speaker 1: a time where you're saying, am I pleasing people more
• 0:39
  Speaker 1: than God? We have to be careful to make sure
• 0:44
  Speaker 1: there were always always focused on pleasing God. Father, God,
• 0:52
  Speaker 1: in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before you
• 0:56
  Speaker 1: God with humble hearts, longing to seek you your approval
• 1:01
  Speaker 1: above all else. Too often, God, too often we've worried
• 1:06
  Speaker 1: about what other people think, what other people say, striving
• 1:11
  Speaker 1: for their acceptance, yet neglecting to seek Your will first.
• 1:16
  Speaker 1: But today God, we choose to turn our hearts fully
• 1:20
  Speaker 1: toward You. We repent. God, forgive us for being more
• 1:26
  Speaker 1: focused on them than You, their desires than yours. Forgive
• 1:32
  Speaker 1: us God, and we thank you that you said in
• 1:35
  Speaker 1: your word that if we confess our sin, you are faithful.
• 1:40
  Speaker 1: You are just to forgive us and cleanse us of
• 1:42
  Speaker 1: all unrighteousness. Lord, give us the courage to stand firm
• 1:49
  Speaker 1: in your truth even when it's not popular. Help us
• 1:53
  Speaker 1: to remember that obedience to you is greater than the
• 1:56
  Speaker 1: applause of men. Purify our motives, go God, that our
• 2:00
  Speaker 1: actions would flow from a sincere love for you, rather
• 2:04
  Speaker 1: than a desire for recognition or to please man. Fill
• 2:09
  Speaker 1: us God with your holy spirit, that we will walk
• 2:11
  Speaker 1: in boldness and faithfulness toward you. Let us find joy
• 2:15
  Speaker 1: in pleasing you and you alone, knowing that when we
• 2:18
  Speaker 1: seek first your kingdom, all that we need will be
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: provided according to your word in Matthew six point thirty three.

  Speaker 1: Oh God, strengthen us against fear, against rejection, against criticism,
• 2:33
  Speaker 1: and remind us that our identity is secure in Jesus Christ.

  Speaker 1: Lord God, we surrender our need for approval and lay
• 2:42
  Speaker 1: it right now, God at your feet. Help us to
• 2:45
  Speaker 1: trust that your plan for us is good, and then
• 2:48
  Speaker 1: walking in obedience to you leads to eternal rewards. God,
• 2:52
  Speaker 1: let our lives glorify You in Jesus' name Amen
