- 0:00Speaker 1: What the hell is that. It's one more thing, one
- 0:06Speaker 1: more thing before we get to Katie, Katie the news lady,
- 0:11Speaker 1: and her whatever she's going to tell us about. I
- 0:14Speaker 1: just got a text from my son. He said, our
- 0:17Speaker 1: inflatable jack o' lantern got away and was blowing down
- 0:20Speaker 1: the street, so he had to run. Who he had
- 0:23Speaker 1: to run and chase it and bring it back.
- 0:27Speaker 2: It's a nightmare.
- 0:28Speaker 1: It's twenty two feet high. It's pretty big. WHOA, yeah,
- 0:32Speaker 1: that's ADFJ. It's a It's a giant inflatable jacke lanner.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I suppose it really could only get so far away
- 0:39Speaker 1: before it would deflate being unplugged.
- 0:42Speaker 3: That's why I was going to ask. It has one
- 0:43Speaker 3: of those automatic fans, right.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Yeah, but it stays up for a little while. But
- 0:48Speaker 1: you don't want to fly down the street and causing
- 0:50Speaker 1: her wrecker. No, I think it could get damaged badly. Well,
- 0:54Speaker 1: I don't care about that, but I don't want some
- 0:56Speaker 1: card crash because your jacketl because my giant inflatable jack
- 1:02Speaker 1: lantern is blowing down the street.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Boy, listen to you and a little latest. You got
- 1:06Speaker 2: a twenty two foot jack lantern?
- 1:08Speaker 1: Did you say twenty two. Yeah, that's saffing. I know
- 1:12Speaker 1: it is, but you're not worried about it.
- 1:14Speaker 2: It's begetting damaged. You just buy another one, like you're
- 1:17Speaker 2: Jeff Bezos.
- 1:18Speaker 1: It was like eighty dollars.
- 1:19Speaker 2: It's not like a oh it's quested Chinese slave labor.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Yes, exactly. It's a statement piece, is what it is.
- 1:28Speaker 1: It really really brings the yard together, if you know
- 1:30Speaker 1: what I'm saying. All the other different things, like ghoules
- 1:33Speaker 1: crawling up out of the ground because they were buried
- 1:35Speaker 1: alive or whatever other joyous thing that we're portraying in
- 1:39Speaker 1: our yard.
- 1:40Speaker 2: No, No, they were buried dead, but now they're alive again.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Is that what's going on?
- 1:45Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:45Speaker 1: And then the various skeletons. I guess people that died
- 1:48Speaker 1: so long ago that their flesh has rotted completely off,
- 1:51Speaker 1: but we've kept the bones for some reason.
- 1:54Speaker 2: All right, And again for some reason, now they are
- 1:57Speaker 2: crawling out of the earth to afflict us or mean.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Or if you're like my neighbor, they're now doing yard
- 2:03Speaker 3: work because they set them up with all of their
- 2:05Speaker 3: lawn instruments out in front.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's a good one. Pretty funny. That's a
- 2:08Speaker 1: good one. Jack, Do you have a fog machine. I've
- 2:10Speaker 1: had one in the past. I don't. I don't know
- 2:12Speaker 1: if I I'm gonna plug it in this year. I
- 2:15Speaker 1: saw a good one the other day, as somebody who
- 2:17Speaker 1: had bought the skeletons, and then taking apart the bones
- 2:22Speaker 1: one and you had a skeleton driving a riding lawnmower,
- 2:27Speaker 1: and then another skeleton looking at the writing lawnmoreerlike with
- 2:30Speaker 1: its bony hands on its face and shock, and then
- 2:34Speaker 1: like bones next to the writing lawnmower and ahead like
- 2:37Speaker 1: he'd run over one of the time something yea. So
- 2:40Speaker 1: telling a story of somebody not paying attention, it.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Reminds me it's I saw a guy with a skeleton
- 2:47Speaker 2: with wearing golf gear and a golf club in his
- 2:50Speaker 2: hand on his front patio, and I thought, because I've
- 2:52Speaker 2: got a skeleton one of my victims, we all know them,
- 2:55Speaker 2: I've got to I've got I got an extra one.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I really have to put that out front.
- 3:02Speaker 1: They're handy, they're a good time. It's worth spending a
- 3:05Speaker 1: little more for the good ones. But they're they're fun. Boy.
- 3:08Speaker 2: As an empty nester with no kids trick or treating
- 3:12Speaker 2: in my hood, Halloween means nothing to me. It doesn't exist.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yes, it's disappointing.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I went into a spirit over the weekend and I
- 3:22Speaker 3: don't I mean, and you can't put any of that
- 3:24Speaker 3: stuff in your yard. If you have kids coming by,
- 3:27Speaker 3: it would it would traumatize them.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Yeah, we were at one of the spirit stores too.
- 3:30Speaker 1: They're pop up stores, I guess anyway, Uh, yeah, this
- 3:34Speaker 1: stuff was way too gruesome and scary. The closest neighbors
- 3:37Speaker 1: I've got to me where I live now are little kids,
- 3:39Speaker 1: and they're they're so excited. They're like six and four.
- 3:42Speaker 1: He's going to be the Mandalorian, so excited about it
- 3:45Speaker 1: for your girls, a princess of some sort. But I
- 3:47Speaker 1: don't want them to, you know, have nightmares.
- 3:49Speaker 2: No, you don't want your front yard to look like
- 3:51Speaker 2: the battlefields of Ukraine. When the little kids are just
- 3:54Speaker 2: wanting to, you know, where their costumes. That'll get some candy.
- 3:57Speaker 1: It shouldn't be Antietam at the end of the day.
- 4:00Speaker 1: It should be more festive than that. Although Henry's big
- 4:03Speaker 1: on we're going to give out full sized candy bars
- 4:05Speaker 1: this year. We're going to be the legendary house. People
- 4:07Speaker 1: are going to talk about it. So we're feeling handing
- 4:10Speaker 1: out the full size you get an actual sninkers bar,
- 4:13Speaker 1: like from the vending machine.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I had had out slips of paper that indicated what
- 4:17Speaker 2: each child's share of the national debt is. To this point,
- 4:21Speaker 2: you want to see something scary kids.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Take a look at that you don't understand compound interest. Okay, Katie,
- 4:30Speaker 1: what's your story? Okay?
- 4:32Speaker 3: So over the weekend, I was having a blast. I
- 4:35Speaker 3: was folding laundry and I had the TV going, and
- 4:39Speaker 3: all of a sudden I heard this noise and I
- 4:42Speaker 3: didn't know what it is. To note, I have one
- 4:45Speaker 3: of those Alexa things in my house and it's been
- 4:47Speaker 3: randomly going off at times, answering questions I didn't ask,
- 4:51Speaker 3: and what not.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Right I had? That happened the other day. Yeah, We're
- 4:54Speaker 1: sitting at dinner in my phone, all of a sudden,
- 4:56Speaker 1: what was that? You said? What? Yeah?
- 5:00Speaker 3: I didn't eat right? So I turned the TV off
- 5:04Speaker 3: and I waited, and about two minutes later it happened again.
- 5:09Speaker 3: And Michael, could you play that that sounder for me?
- 5:12Speaker 2: And be forgotting about it?
- 5:15Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Okay, so that was the noise?
- 5:24Speaker 1: WHOA, my good Lord.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I had forgotten that Hansen sent me the clip of
- 5:33Speaker 3: Michaelangelo doing the exhale and scream, and I had changed
- 5:37Speaker 3: it to the noise that my phone makes when he
- 5:39Speaker 3: text messages me.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Oh that's fun. I shut my whole house down.
- 5:48Speaker 3: And then Michael, thank god you sent us like three
- 5:50Speaker 3: text messages in a row to the group. So I
- 5:52Speaker 3: kept hearing that, and I, oh, yeah.
- 5:56Speaker 1: If you didn't remember, you'd think the person trapped in
- 5:59Speaker 1: your attic is trying to get out or something.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I'd have grabbed a gun. I'm not sure what was
- 6:03Speaker 2: going on, but no one the pooh was about to
- 6:05Speaker 2: hit the fan anyway.
- 6:08Speaker 1: That was it.
- 6:08Speaker 3: That just scared the absolute.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Shit out of me. And oh my god, there's somebody
- 6:13Speaker 1: tied to the radiator in my basement the whole time
- 6:15Speaker 1: I've lived here.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Oh wow, Now they're crawling up through the ground or something.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 6:22Speaker 1: That is like practically the most disturbing sound I can imagine.
- 6:27Speaker 1: To not be able to identify and wonder what.
- 6:30Speaker 2: It was happening in the background where you know, you
- 6:35Speaker 2: don't clearly hear it.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it was. My phone was on the couch
- 6:39Speaker 3: and I was kind of off in the dining room,
- 6:41Speaker 3: so it just was coming from anywhere.
- 6:44Speaker 1: It's like a human in pain or something.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Something. The most disturbing sound I've ever dealt with when
- 6:54Speaker 2: when we lived in our little rental house when we
- 6:56Speaker 2: first moved to California.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I remember when you had a polder guy. She used
- 6:59Speaker 1: to tell us about it every single we got a
- 7:00Speaker 1: poulder guys in our house.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Now there are feral cats who lived in the bushes,
- 7:05Speaker 2: and they would like be right below our window and
- 7:08Speaker 2: they would be making sweet sweet cat love and the
- 7:12Speaker 2: screams Katie.
- 7:15Speaker 1: They love each other.
- 7:19Speaker 3: This National Cat Day.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I am a practical man and not prone to superstition
- 7:24Speaker 2: or anything like that. I would have testified that a
- 7:28Speaker 2: woman was being victimized in the most terrible way right
- 7:33Speaker 2: outside the window. It sounded precisely like a human woman
- 7:38Speaker 2: crying in pain and terror.
- 7:41Speaker 1: And this would wake me up like three nights a week. Well,
- 7:44Speaker 1: did you go out with a gun or do you
- 7:45Speaker 1: just think good luck with that and go back to sleep. Well, no,
- 7:48Speaker 1: I became aware that it was the freaking cat. I'd
- 7:51Speaker 1: like pulled up the shades and looked out the window. Hey,
- 7:53Speaker 1: what's going on in the cat screy way. I'm like,
- 7:56Speaker 1: are you f a kidding? Un Oh my gosh, I know.
- 8:02Speaker 2: It's just terrible.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I don't think i've ever heard cats do it. Oh
- 8:06Speaker 1: do cats do like trained domesticated cats sound like that
- 8:12Speaker 1: when they make love or just feral cats.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I don't know if they were doing it wrong or
- 8:16Speaker 2: doing it like really really right, but it.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Was, Oh, it was so we're just freaky had a. Yeah,
- 8:25Speaker 1: they could be. They could be. Uh yeah, they're just
- 8:27Speaker 1: not into vanilla sex, as they say in the Cats exactly.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Wow.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Wow ah, oh god, I can't believe I made that noise.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I bet I could make it again if I wanted to,
- 8:44Speaker 1: and I shouldn't know. Well, I guess that's it.
