- 0:26to do that, you got to write it down and make it plain. So grab a notebook, grab
- 0:29a pen, Press pause things that stick
- 0:33out for you write them down and guess what don't let it be the last time
- 0:36you go to that notebook go back to the notebook and Revisit that content
- 0:40because what's gonna happen is the more you engage with this content the
- 0:44more your mind starts to Look for evidence to
- 0:47make it Real right in today's episode. We're talking about
- 0:51challenging limiting beliefs And I know for
- 0:54a fact so many people have them because of what I do for a living I
- 0:58talk to people every day And I can see the greatness
- 1:01in people and people Struggle with seeing that within themselves
- 1:05because that's their self-dialogue. That's how they have
- 1:08been operating and so no matter It
- 1:11doesn't matter that I see them. I'm working on helping them see
- 1:15themselves and changing that inner dialogue voice. Before
- 1:19we get started, I just have a couple of announcements. So
- 1:23May 3rd, I am having a mental health awareness
- 1:27month here at my wellness center. So I'm
- 1:30so excited about that. This is going
- 1:33to be a time where we can come together and
- 1:39we will be able to work on, we'll
- 1:44be able to work on different things that the
- 1:47Wellness Center is providing. So that is
- 1:51really exciting because Want people to learn
- 1:54how to heal and I feel like a lot of times people only
- 1:57know psychiatry or therapy So I want people to
- 2:01know like there's so many other ways that they can work on healing So
- 2:04May 3rd if you are in the Stoughton area Come
- 2:09through it's a free event and all you got to do is go to
- 2:12either event bright or go to my website stwit.com to
- 2:17sign up that is happening May 3rd and And these are some
- 2:20monthly events that I have at the center. So once
- 2:24a month, we have a mindful yin class.
- 2:28And then we also have a rest and restore class.
- 2:32And then the last Friday of every month, we have restorative yoga
- 2:36class. So these are somatic practices. One
- 2:39of the things that people don't recognize is that They store
- 2:43pain in their body, right? So people talk about
- 2:46oh, let's talk about it Let's talk to people but a lot of people aren't talking
- 2:50about how do I get rid of how? Stuck I
- 2:53feel right like I get that this is the case and I get I
- 2:56went through this I'm making those connections, but my body I'm still
- 3:00feeling stuck a lot of these somatic practices can
- 3:03help you start the process of getting
- 3:07unstuck So, those are things that are happening. If
- 3:10you go to my website, stwit.com, you
- 3:13can find the link to everything that's going on. So,
- 3:16make sure if you are in the Stoughton area, you check it out. If
- 3:20you have any questions, all you got to do is email us, info at stwit.com.
- 3:25That's info at stwit.com. All right,
- 3:28let's jump into the topic. Let's talk about limiting
- 3:32beliefs. Limiting beliefs will keep you limited,
- 3:36literally. And a lot of times people don't even recognize
- 3:40what their voice is saying, because why? We're constantly doing
- 3:44so many things. We're constantly distracted. We're
- 3:47on the go all the time. And then if we feel a little bit of uncomfortability, we
- 3:51find a way to mitigate that. That could be anywhere from
- 3:55drinking and smoking to getting more degrees or picking
- 3:58up over time, right? Anything to keep us distracted. We
- 4:02will find ourselves doing it so that we won't have
- 4:05to feel the pain. So let's jump into the
- 4:09first slide Again, if you're listening to me on the audio, you
- 4:12can find these episodes streaming on YouTube. I
- 4:15am a very visual person So being able to like
- 4:19watch things and read them is very helpful to me I know
- 4:22some people are audio people and they're good like that. I know I need the
- 4:26visual and So I'm going to talk about some common
- 4:29limiting beliefs that people have. And one of
- 4:33the ones that I hear a lot is I'm not good enough. And
- 4:36so if you are somebody that feels you're not good enough, you're
- 4:39probably avoiding taking on new challenges and opportunities because
- 4:43you feel you're going to fail and not meet expectations. You're
- 4:47probably leading things to perfectionism
- 4:51where you feel that only flawless performance is acceptable,
- 4:55which causes you stress and burnout. And when you feel like
- 4:58you've got to lead with perfectionism, a lot of times you stop. You
- 5:02procrastinate on a project because it has to be a certain way. And
- 5:06then the last thing is that it may also result in negative self-talk where
- 5:09you constantly criticize yourself or downplay your
- 5:13achievements, right? So if you find yourself
- 5:17saying you're not good enough, right? These are some of the ways
- 5:20that you're going to find yourself struggling around life. where
- 5:24if your mind is telling you you're not good enough, then when the
- 5:27opportunities come, you're not gonna go for it. You're not gonna say nothing. You're
- 5:31gonna find yourself feeling stuck, right, with negative self-talk. Another
- 5:36limiting belief that I hear people say is, I don't deserve success, right?
- 5:41A lot of times I see this a lot in the black community. We
- 5:44feel we don't deserve success We don't say it but our
- 5:48actions show it. We won't go for that promotion. We will like
- 5:52Minimize ourselves and our achievements a lot of
- 5:55times because we haven't seen it, right? so if you're somebody that you
- 5:59find yourself not feeling deserving of success or maybe you don't realize
- 6:02this is what you're thinking. You may sabotage your own efforts
- 6:06such as procrastinating on an important task or not fully committing
- 6:09to projects believing you don't deserve it. This belief
- 6:13can lead to feelings of guilt when experiencing success
- 6:17causing you to downplay your accomplishments or attribute
- 6:20them to luck rather than your own efforts. I see this a
- 6:23lot in the black community. You know, we live in a society, if you're in
- 6:27America, you live in a society that wasn't ever designed for you. And
- 6:31unfortunately, there are systems at play that
- 6:34will make you feel like you don't deserve it by the comments
- 6:38that they make, by the lack of acknowledgement about what
- 6:41you've done at that job, how you've allowed that job to excel.
- 6:45Right. I've been in that position, so I know what that feels
- 6:48like. that with people who have allowed
- 6:52companies to grow and have not getting the Acknowledgement
- 6:56that they deserved And so you may not realize consciously
- 7:00that you're finding yourself feeling like you don't deserve success
- 7:04But if these things make sense where you find yourself doing these
- 7:07things that's probably what's happening in your mindset without
- 7:11you realizing it's happening and I'll never
- 7:14be able to change. I hear this a lot from people, and
- 7:19I like to tell people we are people
- 7:24that are able to change our algorithm. We can change the
- 7:27way we're operating. Just because things were one way for
- 7:31a certain amount of time doesn't mean it has to stay that way. Right
- 7:35a lot of people don't realize that you could come from a long line of people that
- 7:38have struggled And you may be the person that's breaking that
- 7:42generational struggle And being the first person to break
- 7:45that generational struggle is so hard. Nobody talks about how
- 7:48hard that is to do Because you're doing it in
- 7:52a way where if you're living in a system and it's dysfunctional and you're
- 7:55trying to work on being functional, they'll make you feel like you're dysfunctional.
- 7:59What are you doing? Why are you going to school? Why are you doing what those white people are doing? Like
- 8:03making comments like those things. And it's not because
- 8:07They're trying to put you down, it's just they don't really get it, right? And
- 8:11so sometimes you have to understand that when you
- 8:14are the first person to do something in your family system, it'll
- 8:18be hard for people to accept as well, like seeing you grow.
- 8:22And so you also have a hard time seeing yourself grow as well without
- 8:25even realizing that that is happening. So if you're
- 8:29finding yourself feeling like you're never able to change you
- 8:32may resist trying new strategies or approaches believing that
- 8:36your habits Or personality traits are fixed and
- 8:39unchangeable. This is just how I am. Is it how you are? One of
- 8:43the things that people say to me is that they
- 8:46procrastinate, right? This is just how I am. I'm just a procrastinator. Are
- 8:50you a procrastinator? Were you born a procrastinator? Right? Unfortunately,
- 8:55we start to adapt to
- 8:58our dysfunction and make it part of who we are. When that's not who we
- 9:01are, that's who we adapted to, not realizing that that's what's
- 9:05happening. So this belief can lead to a sense of hopelessness
- 9:09where you feel stuck in your current situation And
- 9:12do not seek help or resources for improvement and you just stay where
- 9:16you are Right. It's it's a choice to want to change
- 9:20But change requires action change requires you
- 9:23to be uncomfortable There's no way to be comfortable
- 9:27if you're trying to change and there's no other way to put it You know
- 9:30what I mean? Like if your system has been living a certain way for so
- 9:34long, right? If your system has been living away for
- 9:37so long and you call yourself trying to change the system, of
- 9:40course your system is gonna be like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
- 9:44Celeste, Celeste, like, what is we doing? Like,
- 9:47what are we doing? We don't go and go for this
- 9:51walk in the morning. We don't get up in the morning to try to start our
- 9:54day with us. Like, are you kidding me? There will be a
- 9:57lot of resistance There's a quote talks about the real battle happens
- 10:01in your mind because it's true the real battle is happening in your mind Because your
- 10:04system is like not knowing what's going on. And
- 10:08so if you can work on being uncomfortable in that transactionals in
- 10:12that um transitional state that you're in because
- 10:15you're gonna go through a transition where there's this like Do I want to do
- 10:19it? Do I not one foot in one foot out? You're fighting your
- 10:22system. Keep fighting Because what's gonna happen is
- 10:26your mind and body will have no other choice but to fall in line
- 10:29with the direction that you're taking it. I'll say that one more time. When
- 10:32you start working on creating change and doing the
- 10:36things that you know you're capable of deep down inside, that
- 10:39anxiety that you're feeling, that struggle that you're feeling, is because
- 10:43you are not living to your fullest potential. When you start living
- 10:47to your fullest potential, it's gonna feel very uncomfortable, but I
- 10:50promise you, your mind and your system and everything within
- 10:53you has no other choice but to fall in line with the direction that you're taking
- 10:57it. Right now, the direction you're taking it is just letting it flow anyway,
- 11:01you know? Imagine, you know, you've never been somewhere before, you
- 11:05need directions. Back in the day, there was a map
- 11:08quest. I used to print out, gosh, I'm old. I
- 11:12can't imagine having to do this now, but I used to print out
- 11:16freaking, um, the paper directions. I used to print out the directions and,
- 11:20um, to get where I need to go. I didn't just hope and pray
- 11:23I got there. You know what I'm saying? I had to print out the directions. Now, obviously we could
- 11:27pop the directions in our phone. It tells us where to go. When
- 11:31you're operating in life, I feel like most people are just hoping they
- 11:34get to where they need to be. Like, yeah, I wanna be successful. Where
- 11:37is it written at? You know what I'm trying to say? Like, what are you doing to be
- 11:41successful? Are you setting an alarm to write in your journal in
- 11:44the morning or when you get off work, right? Because everybody can't do a
- 11:47morning thing. Some people work overnights, right? So, you know, I
- 11:50never want you to give yourself an excuse. I know people be like, get up at six in the morning, wake
- 11:54up, blah, blah, blah, blah. That's not what I'm telling you because I know my audience is
- 11:58different. Everybody's I was a difference. Everybody's lifestyle is different All
- 12:02I'm asking you to do at what point are you making time to write
- 12:05down what you want to do? If you're not writing down what you
- 12:08want to do if you're not creating a plan and where you want to go Then you
- 12:12you're literally like the example I'm using hoping you get
- 12:15there get to your destination You
- 12:18know and it's gonna take a long time if you do it that way So
- 12:23working on being intentional, if you find yourself saying you can't change
- 12:26and this is just how you are, but then you're not, if you happy with how you
- 12:29are, I love that for you. But if you're telling me you can't change it, you don't
- 12:32like where you are, I need you to work on looking at things in a
- 12:36different way, right? Shifting the way you think. That's exactly why
- 12:39I call my practice shifting the way you think, because I recognize if
- 12:42we can just shift a little bit, just a little bit, then
- 12:46we'll start heading into the direction we need to head. Sometimes
- 12:50when it comes to limiting beliefs, you must please everyone how
- 12:54many people can attest that that's them, right? So you may
- 12:57find yourself over committing to task or responsibilities Often
- 13:01at the expense of your own needs and well-being leading to
- 13:05burn out, baby. I gotta take a whole pause right there
- 13:09Right? So many times that,
- 13:12you know, this, this Pete, this, I got to please everybody. You're
- 13:16doing that because it feels like, Oh, this is what I'm supposed to do. You've
- 13:19made your identity off of pleasing. Some
- 13:22of this stuff could have stemmed from childhood experiences where it's
- 13:26not like somebody said to you, hey, Celeste, you're supposed to please everybody. But
- 13:30based off of the way things were going, trying to make
- 13:33sure mom was okay, make sure dad was okay, or
- 13:36whoever was in your house, the responsibilities that were put
- 13:40on you, where you felt like a burden, you found yourself
- 13:43feeling like you had to please everybody. And guess what happens? You become
- 13:47a whole adult feeling the same exact way. Until
- 13:51you realize that, right, that you deserve the
- 13:54best and that you have to start saying no and putting up boundaries, you're
- 13:58gonna find yourself always in that state of mind. It's hard
- 14:02for you to work on the goals and do the things you need to do if you're
- 14:05constantly drained and burned out from trying to please everybody. This
- 14:10belief can result in difficulty saying no because you're too you
- 14:14feel too overwhelmed and stressed as you try to meet
- 14:17everyone's Expectations, right? So, you know if
- 14:20this is speaking to you, I really want you to think about this pause this
- 14:24video write it down This is part of my limiting beliefs
- 14:27me thinking that I have to please everybody says who
- 14:31says where? Right? Regardless of
- 14:34what religion you are a part of, I
- 14:38don't think there's a religion that says, don't worry about
- 14:41you, just worry about everybody else, burn yourself out. Right?
- 14:45Nowhere it says that. And the crazy thing is,
- 14:49is that if you find yourself trying to change that
- 14:52trajectory, and saying no or
- 14:56putting up boundaries, what's going to happen is your system
- 15:00will try to reject it. It's going to be like, Celeste, like, what do you do?
- 15:03You're supposed to say, yeah, I know you're not driving in that direction. I
- 15:07know you're tired. I know you got a meal prep for the next day.
- 15:11But saying no is gonna feel like I'm doing something wrong. So if
- 15:14I say yes, I'm gonna take you in a direction I'm not going it's
- 15:17gonna take me an hour out of the way. I'm going I'm
- 15:20gonna drive home feeling tired feeling so beat down
- 15:24I don't know prep for the next day my my my day starting off
- 15:28really hard because now I'm so tired because I got to
- 15:31bed late It's not
- 15:35bad to think about yourself. It's not bad because
- 15:39guess what? When me starting with myself first
- 15:43allows me to be a better partner, allows me to be a better mom, allows
- 15:47me to be a better therapist, it allows me to be a better boss. I'm
- 15:52able to navigate all of these things that I operate day
- 15:55to day because I'm starting my day with me. Did
- 15:59I grow up thinking that way? No. Was I taught that way? No.
- 16:02But I had to relearn it and best believe that
- 16:05I was able to relearn how to do that. Best
- 16:09decision I've made was choosing me. Was it
- 16:12hard as I was making that transition? Abso-freaking-lutely, it
- 16:16was very hard. It was very hard to make that transition.
- 16:19It felt like I was doing something wrong. And
- 16:23I want to tell you that's part of the process of change. We stop the process
- 16:26of change because nobody's telling us like, oh, well, hold on. Wait a
- 16:29minute now. Like nobody told me it wasn't going to feel good. People
- 16:33just say, oh, just say no. Oh, just put up boundaries. They forget
- 16:36to tell you about the part of how hard it feels like you're doing something wrong so
- 16:40you can feel like you're doing something wrong. But
- 16:43logically, you know, you're not doing anything wrong, right? And
- 16:47feeling like something's wrong and something being wrong are
- 16:50two different things. Try not to make your decisions based off of
- 16:53your feeling because you'll never do what needs to be done, right?
- 16:57Because if you're trying to change, yes, you're going to feel like you're doing something
- 17:01wrong. It's just part of the process. So
- 17:06let's identify limiting beliefs. Like how do we do that?
- 17:09Right. Because I just went over some common limiting beliefs that
- 17:13we have. And I want to help you identify and
- 17:16like, is this me? Is this something that I struggle with? In
- 17:21order to do that, it's important to think about self-reflection, so
- 17:25try journaling or meditation to uncover thought
- 17:29patterns. It doesn't have to be complicated. I
- 17:32have a guided journal called 365 Days
- 17:36of Intentional Living that I always forget to promote, but I do have
- 17:39one. And it's on my website and every
- 17:42day I ask a different question actually how you're feeling, right? I created that
- 17:46because when I would go online and talk to people and talk to them about ways
- 17:49to Work on understanding themselves, but I would talk about journaling people
- 17:53say I don't know how to journal So I have a journal there's
- 17:56a thousands and thousands of journals you can buy on Amazon You
- 18:01don't have to buy a journal to start this process. You can literally grab a
- 18:04notebook and a pen. You can literally go to the notes section of your phone. And
- 18:09you can ask yourself certain questions every day. You
- 18:12can just write and free flow. How am I feeling? What went well? Let
- 18:15me tell you the four questions I ask my kids at night, right?
- 18:19These are four questions we talk about in a group every
- 18:23single night. How am I feeling? What
- 18:26am I grateful for? What went well today? And what do
- 18:29I need to do to prepare for tomorrow? Right? You
- 18:33can just start with those four questions. When the feeling piece, grab
- 18:37a feelings chart and actually point to the feeling to identify
- 18:41the actual feeling that you're feeling. Right the
- 18:44reason why if you want to work on identifying some of these limiting beliefs
- 18:48you got to start with taking a pause and reflecting on what's going on
- 18:52and meditation start with two minutes of just pausing
- 18:57If your next statement to me is Celeste, but when I pause I
- 19:01have all these thoughts i'm gonna say well Hey, guess what? The thoughts
- 19:04are there whether you're gonna pause or not. So why not pause? and
- 19:08pay attention to what's going on. Imagine just allowing people to
- 19:11throw trash on you every freaking day. And
- 19:14so, like, throw trash in your room every day, every day, and
- 19:18you're not pausing. You're just walking around the trash. You don't realize,
- 19:21like, the room starts smelling. You don't even realize it's smelling because you're getting
- 19:25used to the smell. You're getting used to people throwing trash all over you
- 19:28in your room, in your space. You would never allow that to
- 19:31happen. Somebody just come walking through your door, open up your freaking
- 19:34door, and just throw trash in there. Literally,
- 19:38when it comes to your mind and the thoughts that you have, we're
- 19:42surrounded by trash, with people that doubt us, stuff
- 19:46on social media, the freaking news, the freaking news, the
- 19:50freaking news. So many hard things are happening. Experiences
- 19:56from the past so let me just make it clear on
- 19:59what's happening if you're gonna choose not to take a pause Meditate journal
- 20:03check in with yourself about how you feeling if you're gonna choose not to do that.
- 20:06Let me be clear on what's happening You're saying hey everybody. It's
- 20:09okay to throw trash on me. Hey, I'm here. Yep. Open my
- 20:13door throw trash in here That's what you're saying So
- 20:17we can't help the trash that we're exposed to
- 20:21especially if we're in freaking America and We
- 20:24can't help the trash, but what we can do is
- 20:27work on disposing it, right? When I was gonna start
- 20:31a podcast, oh, you really think you could start a podcast? Everybody
- 20:34has a podcast. That was in 2018. What we in? We in 2025. And
- 20:42if I let somebody say, and don't get me wrong, when the
- 20:45person said that my stomach turned a little bit, I was like, dang, can I do this? Absolutely,
- 20:49you can, right? When I was opening my private practice
- 20:54in 2016, really think you can open, that's overhead,
- 20:58that's money, that's, I can do that, mm-hmm, I can
- 21:01do that. The person that was talking wasn't an entrepreneur. The
- 21:05person that was talking wasn't going in the same direction I was going, right?
- 21:09So you gotta understand, some of the people that you're talking to about your
- 21:12goals and your vision, they're not going in the same direction that they're going.
- 21:15They have limiting beliefs of themselves, right? So why not
- 21:19make your goals and the things that you wanna do clear for yourself? So
- 21:24be mindful on how you're framing things because I
- 21:27promise you, you're listening. And so when you're working on trying
- 21:30to identify the ways in which you're holding yourself back,
- 21:34self-reflection is a great thing to do. Another
- 21:38way you can do to work on understanding yourself is just asking yourself
- 21:41questions. What do I believe about myself? What is holding me back? Challenge
- 21:45yourself. I've gotten as far as I've gotten because I asked
- 21:49myself questions. Pay it when I'm feeling a
- 21:52certain thing when my stomach's turning like just because I have this information
- 21:56and I'm talking about it and teaching it on the podcast and
- 21:59in life when I'm speaking just Because I have this knowledge doesn't
- 22:03mean I don't struggle with the same struggles that you have the struggles
- 22:06are there I'm asking myself the questions. I'm just not allowing
- 22:10the fear to stop me. I'm not letting these these
- 22:14limiting beliefs to stop me from going back and So
- 22:18asking yourself questions will help you understand yourself better Feedback
- 22:22from others others. I know I just said don't be telling everybody
- 22:26But some people have some good people in their lives mentors maybe
- 22:32Obviously therapists right if you have a good therapist, um, you may
- 22:35have a good friend, right? I have a couple of really close friends that
- 22:38will tell me how it is, right? So there's value in
- 22:42seeking feedback from trusted friends and mentors. It
- 22:45can't just be anybody People that you trust that will like
- 22:49that know you well that want the best for you That
- 22:52want to see you win, right everybody That's around us
- 22:55isn't bad, right? But then I know some people may not
- 22:58have a lot of great people in their life So if that's the case x
- 23:02that out, right? You can find that community online, right?
- 23:06You can look for a community online if you don't have somebody in person.
- 23:10And if you can't find it online, if you say, like, start with the book, start
- 23:13with the podcast. If you listen to this podcast, this is a great tool
- 23:17to help you work on challenging the limiting beliefs that you
- 23:20have about yourself. Now let's
- 23:24talk about the challenging, right? How can I
- 23:27challenge my limiting beliefs? This is the last part where we just talked about
- 23:31some of the limiting beliefs that we have, right? When
- 23:34then next thing we talked about is how do I identify those limiting beliefs?
- 23:38And now I just want to go into how do I challenge the limiting beliefs
- 23:42that I have? So there's this thing called cognitive restructuring.
- 23:47I do this very well in my session. So basically replacing negative thoughts
- 23:50with positive affirmations. Right. My
- 23:54my it's so funny because my clients are like, yeah, you know, well,
- 23:57when they first start working with me, they'll be like, yeah, you know, I don't know if I
- 24:01can do that. Oh, yeah. You can't. I said,
- 24:04what makes you think you can't? Like, I literally check them on the spot. And
- 24:07so I said when they first start working with me, because if they, you know, long term,
- 24:11they may start it. They'd be like, I already know what you're going to say, Celeste, because, you know,
- 24:15I feel like I'm the I'm the negative belief slayer. Call
- 24:19me the negative belief slayer because I'm slaying it like pow. So
- 24:24cognitive restructuring, so basically, dang,
- 24:28can I really do this, right? So basically, if you're not processing what's
- 24:32going on, your mind is like, dang, can I really do this? If
- 24:35I don't stop and tell my mind, yes, I can do this, my
- 24:39mind's just gonna keep trying to, can I really do this? Can I really do this? So that
- 24:42thing I wanna start, the vision I have, it's never gonna start. because
- 24:47i'm not challenging it absolutely i can do this like that's
- 24:50the like you got to be real like gully with yourself like yeah
- 24:53i could do this like you know give the negative thoughts a name you
- 24:57know what i'm saying like let's just give it karen You
- 25:02know what I'm saying? Karen comes in your head, like, can you really do this? Yes,
- 25:05I can do this, Karen. You know what I'm saying? Like, you
- 25:09know, just do it. You gotta start, like, speaking over that
- 25:12thought. It's a thought. It doesn't have power, but
- 25:16then you give it power when you don't allow yourself to challenge
- 25:19it. That's how it gets the power. All right, the next way we're
- 25:23gonna challenge limiting beliefs is evidence gathering. So we're gonna collect
- 25:26evidence that contradicts my limiting beliefs. So
- 25:31let's just stick with, can I really do this? Yes, I
- 25:34can. Now I start to look for ways in which I've been able
- 25:38to accomplish things, right? Oh yeah, I was able to finish school.
- 25:42Oh yeah, I did this play or I learned this. Oh,
- 25:46I'm really good at learning new things. Whatever it
- 25:49is that you're trying to do, work on collecting evidence. and
- 25:53reminding yourself that you have what you need. And worst
- 25:57case scenario, if what is it that you're trying to do doesn't work out,
- 26:01I can go back to the drawing board. The thing that I started with,
- 26:04the vision I originally had, it didn't go
- 26:08that way. But I would have never known.
- 26:12So originally, I wanted to work with parents who had kids with autism
- 26:16because I had just adopted my five-year-old cousin.
- 26:20He's almost 21 now. I
- 26:24just adopted him and I struggled. I was so young and
- 26:27I didn't have any friends with kids or people
- 26:31I knew who had children with autism. So I was like, oh, I want to work with autism,
- 26:34parents of kids with autism. And, you know,
- 26:37as I began to work with him, he got better. I didn't have the same behavioral
- 26:41issues. And then I started to feel like, oh, I want to do something. So I
- 26:44started this Uniting Autism, right? I started this thing.
- 26:49And then after that, I said,
- 26:52you know, I want to work with other people, you know? So then I started the
- 26:56Uniting Center, right? It was like, oh, I want people to come
- 26:59together and unite, right? And then from the
- 27:03unite in a way of like different ways of healing, you know
- 27:06I didn't know what that was gonna look like then from there I started the podcast
- 27:10had the books and One of the things I always talked
- 27:13about is like it's important to shift the way you think and then started
- 27:17I got an LLC in 2022 called shifting the way
- 27:20you think and And on my paperwork it says teaching
- 27:24classes and doing X, Y, and Z. I honestly had
- 27:28no idea two years later in 2024 I was going to open up my
- 27:31wellness center. No idea. But what happened is
- 27:34I kept putting one foot in front of the other. And
- 27:38so if I didn't start to Start
- 27:41the process, right? So it's like if I say can you really do this? Yes,
- 27:45I can I've been able to do XY DC and I start the process
- 27:48the worst thing that can happen is it doesn't work out and if that doesn't work out Let
- 27:52me go back to the drawing board The problem is when something doesn't go
- 27:55work out if we hit a speed bump We feel like life is
- 27:58over life isn't over if you're still breathing is freaking room for change that
- 28:02life isn't over Like you can keep going And
- 28:05so you got to gather evidence that you got this and the last thing I
- 28:08want to say about challenging your limiting beliefs is visualization techniques
- 28:13so the power of visualizing success and the steps needed
- 28:16to achieve it there's so much power and Visualizing
- 28:21where you're headed in order for that vision to come in
- 28:25gotta write it down If your vision isn't written anywhere and
- 28:28not just in the corner where there's dust and you haven't even opened it up
- 28:32again I'm talking about written where you're seeing it every day. It's
- 28:35on your mirror. It's on your phone Right if you're it's in
- 28:38your calendar every wednesday morning i'm gonna blah blah
- 28:42blah whatever it is If you don't have no system in place for
- 28:45your vision then tell me do you really want to change? Do you really want
- 28:48to go to different levels? This isn't just professionally i'm talking about
- 28:52literally too I literally wanted to drink more water. I
- 28:55had a sticky note on my computer So when I opened this up that I was on
- 28:58this computer every day every time I opened it up It says don't forget
- 29:02to drink water Wanted to curb the way I was eating
- 29:05I can eat emotionally when I'm struggling give me a cheeseburger Give
- 29:09me a chocolate cake if you've been in this podcast before you know you girl
- 29:12be like give me the cheeseburger Give me the chocolate cake and I said
- 29:16Celeste. Are you really hungry? Well Do you want broccoli?
- 29:19That was my screensaver for six months Now it's
- 29:23worked. So well, i'd be like checking myself like oh, do you really want that
- 29:26because i've seen that for so long There's water all the
- 29:30time by me. Look if you're watching me on youtube Your
- 29:33girl got water. I don't play when it comes to water. Why because I started a
- 29:36system So when I talk about writing it down to make it play
- 29:39i'm talking about the simplest goals when you start accomplishing the
- 29:42simplest goals Like making up your bed in the morning getting up
- 29:46on time Preparing your clothes the night before so you're not
- 29:49rushing in the morning when you start working on the simplest goals
- 29:53you start telling your mind that you are so capable of change and
- 29:57The more that you can get your mind in check and on board for
- 30:00the change that you're trying to create man Anyways,
- 30:09I hope that was helpful y'all I hope that makes sense Remember,
- 30:13we just discussed the limiting beliefs, identifying it,
- 30:18changing the limiting beliefs. If this episode
- 30:21spoke to you, do me a favor, send it to somebody that you love, right?
- 30:25You never know how much a podcast, the
- 30:29things that people hear, how it can change them. So go ahead
- 30:32and send it to somebody like, hey, I heard this podcast, you know, my girl Celeste
