And you can go to accident or dot accidental bible scholar dot com. The links to all the podcasts are there, which is on all the major platforms. Episodes come out every Thursday. We've gone through previous to this two two lessons in Genesis. and this is a third one. So we're gonna talk Randy: Yes. Jeff Ward: about the creation of man, which will probably be in two episodes. Is that correct? Yes. Okay. 'Cause I'll try to hold you back, Randy. Randy: Okay. Yeah, you won't let me you won't let me go for eight hours, so I gotta be too Yeah, okay. All right. So Jeff Ward: But I gotta we're excited. Let's get going. Randy: we're gonna be talking about we we've talked about like nine or ten months ago we had a lesson about the covenants and we talked about Adam's covenant. Well here we're coming to it as we're studying through that. So we'll talk about that and Adam's covenant. Jeff Ward: 10 months ago we lesson about the covenants and we talked about Adam's covenant. Well, here we're coming to it as we're studying through that. So we'll talk about that in Adam's covenant and his descendants' covenant to cook to execute dominion over creation. We'll look, we've seen previously that it's an unconditional, so it's still in effect. And so anyway, we'll get there. but here in this covenant, God decides and establishes that he will work his will on earth through mankind. That's super important for the rest of the Bible. Randy: And his descendants covenant to cr to execute dominion over creation. Well look, we've seen previously that's an unconditional, so it's still in effect. And so anyway, we'll get there. but here in this covenant, God decides and establishes that he will work his will on earth through mankind. That's super important for the rest of the Bible. And you'll see it in the Bible, okay? So this idea that we just hang out and do nothing and he does everything, that's not biblical. I mean, you don't find that. Jeff Ward: You'll see it in the Bible, okay? So this idea that we just hang out and do nothing and he does everything, that's not biblical. I mean you don't find that. Randy: God acting like that in the Bible and he works through us in Genesis one, twenty-six and twenty-seven and twenty-eight, which we're gonna cover more than that, but that's where the the covenant is, right? And let me just read read what I say again. Here God decides and establishes that he will work his will on earth through mankind. Jeff Ward: He works through us in Genesis one, twenty six and twenty seven and twenty eight, which we're gonna cover more than that, but that's where the the covenant is, right? And let me just read read why say again. Here God decides and establishes that he will work his will on earth through mankind. Randy: That's his word. Once he says his word, that's what he's going to do, and his word is irrevocable. So anyway, let's kind of get a running head start on this. Let's start in verse 24. So if you don't mind reading verse 24 and 25. And that'll be day six and then we'll just pause for a second and continue right into the other verses. So so twenty four and twenty-five. Okay, God said, Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds, cattle, creeping things, and wild animals each according to its kind. It was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the cattle according to their Jeff Ward: Okay, God said, Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds, cattle creeping things, and wild animals each according to its kind. It was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the cattle according to their kinds, and all the creatures that creep along the ground according to their kinds. God saw that it was good. Okay, well see the contrast here is not going to use the word. Randy: Okay, we'll see the contrast here. He's not going to use the words create according to their kinds anymore when he's in reference to man. And then he's gonna kinda I don't know, it's kind of a summary. I mean, not summary. The end of chapter one we see create man, and then he'll go into more detail in chapter two, and we're just so we're just gonna go straight into chapter two from this, but it'll take us a little while to get there. Jeff Ward: He's gonna kinda don't know, it's kind of a summary. I mean not summary. The end of chapter one we see create a man and then he'll go into more detail in chapter two and we're just gonna we're just gonna go straight into chapter two from this. But it takes us a little while to get there. Randy: How about reading the next two verses, verses twenty six and twenty seven? Okay, then God said Jeff Ward: The next two verses, verses twenty-six and twenty-seven. Okay, then God said, Let us make humankind in our image after our likeness, so they may rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move on the earth. You said twenty-seven? Yes. God created humankind in his own image. In the image of God he created them, male and female he created them. Okay. So Randy: Yes. God created humankind own image. In the image of God he created them, male female he created them. Okay. So this is everything's done on day six. He's still on day six here. And now he's he's created everything according to their kinds, and now he's gonna create man or mankind, people in his own image. Jeff Ward: This is everything's done on day six. He's still on day six here. And now he's he's created everything according to their kinds, and now he's going to create man or mankind people in his own image. Randy: It says, then God said, Let us make humankind in our image after our likeness, so they may rule over the fish Jeff Ward: It says, then God said, Let us make humankind in our image after our likeness, so they may rule over the fish. Randy: and the and the birds and the air and the cattle and over the all the earth and all the creatures. So I wanted to point out the word. We're going to talk about being created in his image, and we're going to talk about that word so. Jeff Ward: So I wanted to point out the word we're gonna talk about being created in his image and we're gonna talk about that word so. circle it in your Bible. If the E T is so it may be some of us, but so tells the reason why. Randy: circle it in your Bible. If the N E T is so, it may be similar, but so tells the reason why. We're created in his image, at least one of the reasons why we're creating his image, so that we may rule. That's one of the attributes of being created in God's image that we can rule. And we'll talk about that here in just a second. So we'll let's talk about right now. That's our assignment is to rule. That word there means dominion. Jeff Ward: Created in his image, at least one of the reasons why we're created his image, so that we may rule. That's one of the attributes of being created in God's image that we can rule. We'll talk about that here in just a second. So, what's talking about right now? That's our assignment is to rule. That word there means dominion, it means to prevail against, it means to reign over. The word dominate comes out of that word, dominion, and we'll talk about that more here in just a second. But we are to execute dominion in this. Randy: It means to prevail against. It means to reign over. The word dominate comes out of that word, dominion, and we'll talk about that more here in just a second. But we are to execute dominion. Then there's Jeff Ward: Other words like fill, which we'll talk about that in in when we get to verse 28 and beyond. But we are to rule the earth. So he has put us in charge of that, if you will. let's see. I Randy: other words like fill, which we'll talk about that in in when we get to verse 28 and beyond. But we are to rule the earth. So he has put us in charge of that, if you will. let's see. Jeff Ward: don't have this on my on my notes, and I know you get nervous when I go off my notes, but let's go off some things. go to Psalms 115-16. Okay. Randy: I don't have this on my on my notes and I know you get nervous when I go off my notes, but let's go off some things. go to Psalms one fifteen, sixteen. Jeff Ward: It's my memory, so hopefully it's right. Okay. Randy: My memory, so hopefully it's right. Jeff Ward: The heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to mankind. So he's given the earth to mankind. This is talking about Genesis one twenty-six and twenty-seven and twenty-eight. Then go to let's go to Psalms. You probably just clicked out of Psalms. Psalms verse chapter eight. Randy: He has to mankind. So he's given the earth to mankind. This is talking about Genesis one twenty six and twenty seven and twenty eight. Then go to let's go to Psalms. You probably just clicked out of Psalms. You were tapping. Psalms verse chapter eight, the last sentence in verse five and the f and verse six. Okay. Jeff Ward: Last sentence in verse five and the and verse six. Okay. You crowned mankind with honor and majesty. You appointed them to rule over your creation. You have placed everything under their authority. So that's what the psalmist here is going back to this this chapter. Ever he has crowned us, he has made us in his image. Part of that is a crown or a rulership. Randy: To rule over your creation, you have placed everything under their authority. So that's what the psalmist here is going back to this this chapter. Ever he has crowned us, he has made us in his image. Part of that is a crown or a a rulership to be to execute dominion, and that's what the psalmist is saying there, too, that he has put everything under our authority. Okay, so we have authority over the earth. Jeff Ward: Be to execute dominion, and that's what the psalmist is saying there, too, that he has put everything under our authority. Okay, so we have authority over the earth. Mankind does. And we talked about that I don't know, eight or nine months ago when we went through this. Randy: mankind does. And we talked about that, I don't know, eight or nine months ago when we went through this. Being alive and having flesh and blood gives us the authority on earth. We're made of earth, right? So we're made of dirt or our our housing right Jeff Ward: Being alive and having flesh and blood gives us the authority on earth. We're made of earth, right? So we're made of dirt or our our housing, right? Randy: now. We're a spirit within a within a body. And then being made and living of the earth, we we are authority over the earth. Okay. And when we lose that, we don't have authority over the earth. She she now has authority and you don't if you guys Jeff Ward: spirit within a within a body and that being made and living of the earth we we are authority over the earth, okay? And when we lose that we don't have authority over the earth anymore. And I talked about, you know, when you die you're you know, you no longer get to pick your will if your wife comes in and changes your will, right? Right. She she now has authority and you don't. Right. If you guys were Randy: were to disagree on on wills or something. But anyway, Jeff Ward: to disagree on on wills or something. But anyway. Randy: we'll come back to that because he's going to use he's going to in the next future verses apply different words to that. But what I want to talk about next is spend a little time talking about the things that come with being made in the image of God, besides the ability to rule or the he made us in his image so that we could rule according to verse 26. The image of God it it literally means the pattern of God. Jeff Ward: We'll come back to that because he's gonna use he's gonna in the next future verses apply different words to that. But what I want to talk about next is spend a little time talking about the things that come with being made in the image of God, besides the ability to rule or the he made us in his image so that we could rule, according to verse twenty-six. The image of God it literally means the pattern of God, or it means that we have the form and the function of God. Randy: Or it means that we have the form and the function of God. so so they may rule. It's something that enables our ability to rule and to function. It's the same Hebrew word that when God's talking to Moses about building the tabernacle, he says, make it according to the pattern. So make it in the image of what I told you on the mountain. Make it in the image of the actual tabernacle or temple that's actually in heaven. Jeff Ward: Make it in the image of the actual tabernacle or temple that's actually in heaven. And he says, So Moses built it like I showed you how to do it. So he built us in his image in the same way that the tabernacle is built in the image of what God tell told him to do. Randy: And he says, so b Moses built it like I showed you how to do it. So he built us in his image in the same way that the tabernacle is built in the image of what God told told him to do. Jeff Ward: I put here another thing about it, since we're being created in him in the image of God, is that words are powerful. Our words matter, our words are creative, our words are Randy: I put here another thing about it, since we're being created in in the image of God, is that words are powerful. Our words matter, our words are creative, our words, our words have authority, our words have power because we're created in his image. I mean, we just read in earlier in Genesis one, where he created time, space, light, matter, energy just by speaking it into existence. Same thing with plants and animals and fish and birds and the sun and the stars. He made just by speaking it into existence. Jeff Ward: have authority. Our words have power because we're created in his image. I mean we just read in earlier in Genesis 1 where he created time, space, light, matter, energy just by speaking it into existence. Same thing with plants and animals and fish and birds and the sun and the stars. He made just by speaking it into existence. Randy: So being in his image, our words matter. And it makes sense because right, because if we're going to execute authority, how do you execute authority? With your words. Yeah, you don't you don't a king wants a road built, he doesn't go build the road. He tells people to go build the road. He authorizes the building of that road and it gets built. So same thing. And I have a lot of verses here written out. some of them wrote by memory, so hopefully they're right, but Jeff Ward: So being in his image, our words matter. And it makes sense because right, because if we're gonna execute authority, how do you execute authority with your words? Yeah, you don't you don't a king once a road built, he doesn't go build the road. He tells people to go build the road. He authorizes the building of that road and it gets built. So, same thing. And I have a lot of verses here written out. some of them wrote my memory, so hopefully they're right, but Randy: they they are right. Joel three ten. He says, Let the weak say I am strong. Jeff Ward: They they are right. Joel three ten. It says, Let the weak say I am strong. Randy: Why does the weak say they're strong? Because then they will become strong when they say they're strong. Okay. Ephesians 4.29. We went through that. I don't even know if we talked about it, but our good words impart divine favor or grace. That is power in our words. If we can impart grace to people through what we say, that's Ephesians 4.29. That's a power that we need to exercise. And the opposite of that true. We can we can impart condemnation through our words. Jeff Ward: Why does the weak say they're strong? Because then they will become strong when they say they're strong. Okay? Ephesians four twenty-nine. We went through that. I don't even know if we talked about it, but our good words impart divine favor or grace. That is power in our words. If we can impart grace to people through what we say, that's Ephesians four twenty-nine. That's a power that we need to exercise. And the opposite of that is true. We can We can impart condemnation through our words. Randy: So Jeff Ward: So, and quick aside, and I talked about this several times, but but the devil has hijacked this within many of our churches. Randy: and quick aside, and I talked about this several times, but but the devil has hijacked this within many of our churches. Jeff Ward: Because we're so afraid of the guy that the evangelist with the slick looking boots gets on and says, if you say Cadillac 80 times, a Cadillac will show up in your in your driveway. And then we go, we're we're gonna correct the other way, and we're gonna denounce anybody that says our words are powerful. That's why I'm just bringing up scripture one right after the other here. Sure. Joshua 1.8 says, Never let God's word not Randy: Because we're so afraid of the guy that the evangelist with the slick looking boots gets on and says, if you say Cadillac 80 times, a Cadillac will show up in your in your driveway. And then we go, we're we're gonna correct the other way and we're gonna denounce anybody that says our words are powerful. That's why I'm just bringing up scripture one right after the other here. Joshua one eight says, Never let God's word not Jeff Ward: be on your lips and you will be successful and you will have big great success. Psalm 1 Psalm 1, go read that. That's a successful man because he Randy: be on your lips, and you will be successful and you will have bit great success. Psalm one's Psalm one, go read that. That's a successful man because he He takes and he ingests and he s speaks out God's word. Proverbs 1821 says of the power of life or death in inner words. I think that's true at so many different levels. Jeff Ward: he takes and he ingests and he speaks out God's word. Proverbs 1821 says that the power of life or death in their words. I think that's true at so many different levels. Randy: if you condemn your body over and over. Jeff Ward: if you condemn your body over and over by repeating out loud how how bad it is and how bad you feel and how broken you are, and yeah, guess what? Your body, because your body is going to obey what you say, you're going to be broken and messed up and all those kinds of things. James 3:4 through 6 compares the tongue to a tiny rudder that steers a great big ship. It also from the negative standpoint, it also compares it to a tiny spark Randy: By repeating out loud how how bad it is and how bad you feel and how broken you are. Guess what? Your body, because your body is going to obey what you say, you're going to be broken and messed up and all those kinds of things. James three, four through six compares the tongue to a tiny rudder that steers a great big ship. It also t from the negative standpoint, it also compares it to a tiny spark. Jeff Ward: that burns down an entire forest. That's what the tongue is. Randy: That burns down an entire forest. That's what the tongue is. There's power there. James is telling us there's power in it. Mark 11, 23 is says God, Jesus speaking, it's in red letters in your red letter Bible, says that whatever you say, if you believe in your heart and do not doubt, will be done for you. Okay, that that you can abuse that, and it has been abused, but I'm not going to get rid of it because the new agers are claiming that verse and are abusing. I'm not going to do it because it's it's Jesus Christ speaking. Jeff Ward: Is there's power there. James is telling us there's power in Mark 11 23 is says God Jesus speaking, it's in red letters in your red letter Bible says that whatever you say, if you believe in your heart and do not doubt, will be done for you. Okay, that that you can abuse that and it has been abused, but I'm not gonna get rid of it because the new agers are claiming that verse and they're abusing. I'm not gonna exactly it's Jesus Christ speaking Randy: about the way we're designed and about the way his creation Jeff Ward: about the way we're designed and about the way his creator. Creation is designed. I didn't meant to go look this up. I think it's Matthew 8. I take that back. Randy: is designed. I didn't I meant to go look this up. I think it's Matthew eight. I take that back. I'm not gonna put anything into it. But Jesus says you'll be held accountable for every worthless word that you say. And you're like, whoa, I don't think that is Jeff Ward: Anything to it. But Jesus says you'll be held accountable for every worthless word that you say. And you're like, whoa, I don't think that is a million years from now or whatever in judgment day, you'll be he's we're gonna go here. Let me tell you let's go through every worthless word you said. I think you're held accountable real time because I think your worthless words become worthless in reality. Randy: A million years from now or whatever in judgment day, you'll be he's we're gonna go here, let me tell y let's go through every worthless word you said. I think you're held accountable real time because I think your worthless words become worthless in reality. Jeff Ward: Right. And so that's just it doesn't say that, but that's that's my own theory. He also says a man is not proved Randy: And so that's just it doesn't say that, but that's that's my own theory. He also says a man is not proved righteous or defiled by what goes into his mouth. His defile he's defiled or proved righteous by what comes out of his mouth, talking about our words. again, these things are powerful. Psalms twenty-two three says that God is throned on the praises of his people. So when when we praise him, his he he shows up. He comes down and is enthroned in our praises. Jeff Ward: righteous or defiled by what goes into his mouth, his defiled he's defiled or proved righteous by what comes out of his mouth. Talking about our words. again, these things are powerful. Psalms 223 says that God is throned on the praises of his people. So when when we praise him, his he shows up. He comes down and is enthroned in our praises. There are times and I have a few here, there are times when God wanted to do something great, but he knew people weren't gonna believe it, or he's afraid they weren't, and he made him be quiet. Yeah, we have the crossing of the Red Sea. When it's time to cross the Red Sea, he says, Shut up and stand still. Randy: There are times and I have a few here, there are times when God wanted to do something great, but he knew people weren't going to believe it, or he's afraid they weren't, and he made be quiet. Yeah, we have the crossing of the Red Sea. When it's time to cross the Red Sea, he says, Shut up and stand still. Jeff Ward: Okay, because he's about to work a miracle, and he but he's gotta work it through a man. He works it through Moses. He says Moses stretched out your hand and divide the sea. Okay, he works it because of this covenant. He's always gonna work through man. And then he but he also doesn't want the other Randy: Okay, because he's about to work a miracle and he but he's got to work it through a man. He works it through Moses. He says, Moses, stretch out your hand and divide the sea. Okay, he works it because of this covenant. He's always going to work through man. And then he but he also doesn't want the other Jeff Ward: Folks who had the covenant of Adam to sit there and say, that'll never work. This is dumb. We can't go there. We're so scared because we got the Egyptians here in the sea here, just quiet. Don't say anything, because your words matter. Randy: folks who have the covenant of Adam to sit there and say, that'll never work. That's the dumbest plan ever. And man, we're so scared because we got the Egyptians here and the sea here. You just quiet. Don't say anything, because your words matter. Jeff Ward: destroying Jericho. They they walked around the entire nation with the choir out front walked around the city of Jericho seven days straight. And the only or not the only, but the the Randy: destroying Jericho. They they walked around the entire nation with the choir out front walked around the city of Jericho seven days straight. And the only or not the only, but the the instruction was don't say anything, right? 'Cause he knew that they're all just like we are and we go, Well, this is the dumbest trick. This will never work. Jeff Ward: Instruction was don't say anything, right? 'Cause he knew that they're all just like we are, we go, Well this is a dumbest trick, this will never work. This This is day six, we're still walking around. Whose idea was this? And and Randy: This'll never work. We're w yeah. We're this day six. We're wasting our time here, right? And and probably talking fear and those kinds of things. How did they bring the walls down? With their voice. Their voice brought the walls down. All right. And and you're like, okay. What about John the Baptist? Zachariah's dad gets his angel shows up, Gabriel, says, Hey, your your your elderly wife is and you are gonna have Jeff Ward: voice their voice brought the walls down. All right. And then you're like, okay, what about John the Baptist? Zachariah's dad gets his angel shows up, Gabriel, says, Hey your your your elderly wife is and you are gonna have Randy: a baby. And he goes, Well, how that gonna be? And he goes, he goes, I am the one who is continually in before the face of the Lord. Like, do you who you're not just delivered the message? I'm giving you the word of God. So, because we want to do this, God wants to do this, you're gonna be mute until after it happens because I can't afford you coming out here going, Well, I don't know ever happened. She sure is old. I sure am old, you know, and and do that. Tower of Babel's another one. He the if you go read that story, which we will, it's in Genesis, we'll get there. Jeff Ward: of the Lord. Like do you not know you're you're not just delivering the message? I'm giving you the word of God. So because we want to do this, God wants to do this, you're gonna be mute until after it happens because I can't afford you coming out here going, I don't know what happened. She sure is old. I sure am old you know, and and did that. Tower of Babel's another one. He the if you go read that story, which we will it's in Genesis, we'll get there. Randy: They were all of one language, and that was so powerful that the Lord said they will accomplish everything they set their mind to do. So how does he take power away from them? He he confuses Jeff Ward: They were all of one language and that was so powerful that the Lord said they will accomplish everything they set their mind to do. So how does he take power away from He he Randy: their language. Let that sink in for a minute. That's how powerful language is. Christianity itself, in Hebrews chapter 10, I think Hebrews chapter 4, maybe 1023, exactly. It says Christianity is a confession. Christianity itself is spoken. Romans 10. Jeff Ward: sink in for a minute. Yeah. That's how powerful language is. Christianity itself in Hebrews chapter ten, I think Hebrews chapter four, maybe ten twenty three, exactly, it says Christianity is a confession. Christianity itself is spoken. Romans ten, nine through ten says that it is with the mouth that one confesses and is saved. You're like, well that's pretty powerful, right? Randy: Nine through ten says that is with the mouth that one confesses and is saved. You're like, well, that's pretty powerful, right? We don't faith comes by hearing, by hearing what? Hearing the word of Christ. Where's the word of Christ comes from? It comes out of another man's mouth. Okay, so these are all examples, biblical scriptural examples of how powerful our words are. As a minimum, if you can't go there with me, that's fine. At least cut off the negative stuff. Jeff Ward: We don't faith comes by hearing. By hearing what? Hearing the word of Christ. Where's the word of Christ comes from? It comes out of another man's mouth. Okay, so they these are all examples. Biblical scriptural examples about powerful our words are. As a minimum, if you can't go there with me, that's fine. At least cut off the negative stuff. Right. At least quit pronouncing darkness and curses over yourself and your family and your body and their and your kids and and wherever else. At least stop that. Yeah. So I can't remember the verse. I've quoted it to my kids, but it's been a while where it says stop grumbling and complaining. That's not just a behavior thing, but there's a spiritual aspect to groaning and complaining. Yes. Randy: At least quit pronouncing darkness and curses over yourself and your family and your body and their and your kids and and wherever else. At least stop that. Okay. So can't remember the verse. I've quoted it to my kids, but it's been a while. Stop grumbling and complaining. Yeah. That's not just a behavior thing, but there's a spiritual aspect of groaning and complaining. Yes. There's nothing arbitrary about one single Jeff Ward: Single. Randy: bit of God's commands. And the opposite of that is First Thessalonians five eighteen. Give thanks in everything. And give thanks in every situation. That's the opposite of grumbling. One is an one is going to deplete the power. One is going to bring darkness in your life. The other one's going to bring joy and light Jeff Ward: Yeah. And the opposite of that is first Thessalonians five eighteen. Give thanks in everything. Yep. In er give thanks in every situation. Right. That's the opposite of grumbling. Yep. One is an one is going to deplete the power, one is going to bring darkness in your life, the other one's going to bring joy and life. Randy: and productivity and everything else that thankfulness and joy brings. So Jeff Ward: And I think you've said before, if God inhabits the praise of his people, guess who inhabits the car the grumblings and complainings? Yeah. So it matters. I've said that that's super powerful to me, and I've reminded our family of that just sometimes, you know, as because you created in his image. Randy: I think you said before, if God inhabits the praise of who inhabits the grumblings, complaining? Yep. It's not God. Yeah. So it matters. I've said that. That's super powerful to me. Yes. Sometimes. Words matter because we're created in his image and his words are powerful. Yeah. And his words are powerful, therefore our words are powerful. For good or for bad. Jeff Ward: Yeah. And his words are powerful, therefore our words are powerful. Yeah. For good or for bad. Yep. Most of us if we try to say something good or many of us I'll say this. Many of us if we try to say something good, we don't Randy: Most of us, if we try to say something good, or many of us, I don't say most. Many of us if we try to say something good, we don't b we we don't believe in our heart and do not doubt. But it's really easy for us to say something bad Jeff Ward: Yeah. But it's really easy for us to say something bad. Randy: and believe in our heart and do not doubt. And Mark 1123 says, Whatever you say Jeff Ward: Mark letter twenty three says whatever you say. Randy: and believe in your heart and do not doubt will be done for you. That's that's an exact quote out of scripture. Jeff Ward: Yeah. That's that's an exact quote out of scripture. Yeah. And you can back up and get a run at it and start about chapter twenty I verse twenty and go all the way twenty four. Twenty four is about our prayers and believing in our own three. So believe something good. What's that? Believe something good and write and say what's good and right. And engage your I'll go one step further. Engage our imagination. Yeah. God imagines Randy: And you can back up and get a run at it and start about chapter twenty I mean verse twenty and go all the way to twenty four. Twenty four is about our prayers and believing and having our prayers answered. Speaking and praying are very similar. What's that? Believe something good. Yes. And write and say. Yeah. And engage your I'll go one step further. Engage our imagination. Yeah. God imagined an earth before he spoke it. Yeah. Jeff Ward: Yeah. that's what faith is. Faith is imagining something and seeing and and and if I I'm already getting people feeling uncomfortable with me saying that. Sure. But those same people that are uncomfortable me saying, visualize it, see it in your imagination, and then and then talk about it and execute it. Those same people are well, some of maybe all of are enslaved to worry. Randy: That's what faith is. Faith is imagining something and seeing. And and and if I I'm already getting people feeling uncomfortable with me saying that. But those same people that are uncomfortable with me saying, visualize it, see it in your imagination, and then and then talk about it and execute it. Those same people are well, some of them, maybe all of them, are enslaved to worry and anxiousness because they're Jeff Ward: And anxiousness 'cause they're because of a misuse of their imagination. Right. They're going, this is gonna be awful. This is gonna be aw is how bad this this situation could go south and here's how And if it does then I'm in big trouble and you spend Randy: Because of a misuse of their imagination. They're going, this is going to be awful. This is going to be awful. And then they start talking about it. It could go south. And if it does, then I'm in big trouble. And you spend all your time down there and talking about it. The whole time you're worrying, you're destroying your health. You're inviting something other than the Holy Spirit to to mess with you because you that is a sin. You're trapped in a sin or worry. Jeff Ward: something other than the Holy Spirit to to mess with you because you that is a sin. You're trapped in a sin or worry. And at some point it becomes an a a stronghold. Yeah. And a stronghold becomes a place where lies are Randy: And at some point it it becomes an a a stronghold. And a stronghold becomes a place where lies are dwell and are protected. A stronghold is a protected place. And that'd be second Corinthians ten, three through five. And we just spent I know several weeks on that. But yeah. Yes. Yep. Jeff Ward: Yeah. And that'd be Second Corinthians ten three through five. And we just spent I know several weeks in that. So even if you can't comprehend just a simple practice of speaking truth, speaking good words. And Randy: And and when a lie pops in or Jeff Ward: and when a lie pops in or Randy: a worry or something to go go south as you said or to darkness, just stop it. Don't do it. Don't repeat it back out. If you'll just take inventory through your day, how often you repeat dumb Jeff Ward: South as you said, or to darkness, just just stop it. Yeah. Don't do it. Don't repeat it back out. If you'll just take inventory through your day, how often you repeat Randy: lies or worry or anxiety or unbelief and doubt, it comes out of our mouth almost automatically. And if you don't consciously f come against it, Jeff Ward: And if you don't consciously come against it, both with your will and with your spirit, joined to the Holy Spirit, you will lose that battle. Yeah. But many of us are Randy: Both with your will and with your spirit, joined to the Holy Spirit, you will lose that battle. But many of us are probably already losing that battle and we just don't know it. But just take the next twenty four hours and just take an inventory as you say stuff and just just get a sense for how much is coming out of your mouth that that you don't want the results of what's coming out of your mouth. Anyway. Jeff Ward: next twenty four hours and just take an inventory as you say stuff. Yeah. And just just get a sense for how much yeah's come out of your mouth that that you don't want the results of what's coming out of your mouth. Right. Anyway. And it's probably since we're commanded to do that, it means it's the to speak positive or truth. Yeah. Then that means it's probably natural not to. And it also means it's not arbitrary and it's important. Yep. Randy: Mm-hmm. Yeah. it's probably natural not to. Yeah. Yeah. It probably means it's natural not to, and it also means it's not arbitrary and it's important for for having physical and spiritual power in this world. Yep. Jeff Ward: Physical and spiritual power this world. Yep. Randy: And for executing the authority we've been given to create dominion. Another thing is going Jeff Ward: Another thing is going on Randy: on thinking about being in the image of God is we're creative. I mean, think about it. We're problem solvers. We're explorers. We're artists, musicians, engineers. Jeff Ward: And think about it, we're problem solvers, we're explorers, we're artists, musicians, engineers. Randy: you know, i it's just that's who we are. That that is that is a result of being creative, of being created in the image of our creator, is that we are in fact creative. There's no other being like that. Even the angels aren't creative because they haven't been made in his image. They c and then they're not exactly problem solvers, not to the level that we are. I was reading a c a guy, this is not my notes again. A guy that was saved out of the occult. And he was saying one of the reason demons want to partner with people is two reasons. There's probably more, but two reasons I'll talk about is one, demons don't have authority on the planet except through man, so they want your authority. And the other one is they need your creativity. They need you to participate in coming up with these plans to take Christians down. Jeff Ward: Demons don't have authority on the planet except through man. So they want your authority. And the other one is they need your creativity. They need you to participate in coming up with these plans to take Christians. Interesting. Mm-hmm. Alright, he also says as we keep going there, he says made us male and female. So we're not made the same. Okay? Randy: All right, he also says as we keep going there, he says made us male and female. So we're not made the same. Okay. we're different. I think the male is a picture of being created in God's image of God's strength. God is super powerful and super strong, and he's given that in masculinity in the male version of man. And then in the female version, he's given I think he's in in endowed as beauty. Jeff Ward: Then in the female version he's given I think he's in in endowed as beauty. Randy: And if we look at how we're created, like you said, you've kind of even hinted at and when in Ephesians six previously we talked about, we can get a an insight into the demonic attacks by how we're created. Well, if I'm created for God's strength, he's not gonna attack me in in how I look. He's gonna Jeff Ward: and if we look at how we're created, like you said, you've kind of even hinted at when in Ephesians 6 previously we talked about, we can get a an insight into the demonic attacks by how we're created. Well, if I'm created for God's strength, he's not gonna attack me in in how I look. He's gonna Randy: attack me in what I can do. And then ladies generally are attacked from how they look and not what they're capable of. and I I proved this in a class setting and you know, in a Sunday school I taught for twenty five years, so I got to know people pretty good and some of were in my class for over twenty years and so I knew really well. Well, I would tease the guys sometime about being ugly. You were there, I probably teased you about being ugly, right? But I can tease a gas I can yeah. You don't care. It it just r g goes in one ear out the other, we all chuckle, right? Jeff Ward: in a class setting and you know in a Sunday school I taught for twenty five years so I got to people pretty good and some of were in my class for over twenty years and so I knew really well. Well I would tease the guys sometime about being ugly. You were there, I probably teased you about being ugly, right? But I I wouldn't remember. It just g goes in one year out the other we all chuckled. Yeah. Randy: I have never and would never tease a woman about being ugly. That hits at a completely different level. That doesn't go in one ear and out the other. That's stepping on her air hose. That's hitting her at a level that that Jeff Ward: At a completely different level that doesn't go in one ear and out the other. Right. That's stepping on her air hose. That's hitting her at a level that that Randy: we you and I can't really imagine. It almost in an inexplicable way. Her reaction to that would be would even surprise her. And then I put Jeff Ward: in almost in an inexplicable way. Her reaction to that would be would even surprise her. Yeah. And then I put Randy: here, I tease guys about being ugly, but my wife and daughters, Go ask them. I call them gorgeous all the time. I would never tease them about that. And what about men? Jeff Ward: Sure. Never teach them about their and what about men? Randy: I will never and you would never, and men almost don't do it without even thinking. We're just we don't have to understand this. We just don't do it. We would never tease a man about being incapable of something or about being weak. Because again, that would hit that man at a level that a woman literally wouldn't understand. And I put here in my notes, hey, wives note that. Sometimes we can see ourselves through Jeff Ward: Men almost don't do it without even thinking. We're just we don't have to understand this, we just don't do it. We would never tease a man about being incapable of something or about being weak. 'Cause again that would hit that man at a level that a woman literally wouldn't understand. Right. And I put here in my notes, hey wives note that. Sometimes we can see ourselves through only through or see the world through our lenses of our own self and we can forget that things that don't mean a lot to me can mean a lot to my husband or to my wife. So Randy: only through or see the world through our lenses of our own self and we can forget that things that don't mean a lot to me can mean a lot to my husband or to my wife. So I put here to the guys, guys ever wonder why your wife keeps asking you to do things for, to fix this, to reach this for me, to carry this for me, to open this jar? And I put here she is highlighting your strength. She's the one that's been created into a dis into a weaker vessel. And she's the one that represents the church in the relationship in the marriage relationship. And this in that she is deferring to or highlighting the one made stronger, the one who represents Christ in the relationship. This is a compliment when your wife says, Hey, can you reach this for me? Can you unscrew this jar for me that's stuck? She is she is not weaker than you. She has been made in a she's in a weaker vessel. Her vessel is weaker than you, and she is the picture of the church. You are the picture of Christ. And she's going to you and going, Hey, and she's highly Jeff Ward: The one made stronger, the one who re represents Christ in the relationship. This is a compliment when your wife says, Hey, can you reach this for me? Can you unscrew this jar for me that's stuck? She is she is not weaker than you. She has been made in a she's in a weaker vessel. Her vessel is weaker than you. And she is the picture of the church. You are the picture of Christ. And she's going to you and going, Hey, and she's highlighting Randy: Highlighting your strength. That's a good thing. Don't let that irritate you if you're a guy. Jeff Ward: your strength. That's a good thing. Don't let that irritate you if if you're a guy. Randy: And I put here, this is just the way we were designed and created, all these things we've been talking about. Before we go on, I got one question I want to ask ourselves and then I want to answer. So go back to that list real quick and read me the things Jeff Ward: and I think this is this is just the way we were designed and created all these things we've been talking about. Before we go on I got one question I wanna ask ourselves and then I wanna answer. So go back to that list real quick and and read me the things Randy: where I was saying that we are to have dominion over. Let's Jeff Ward: Okay. Randy: see. Jeff Ward: Got it. Yep. The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, Randy: The last part of twenty-six. Read that. The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cows. Jeff Ward: and over all the earth. And over all the creatures that move on the earth. Okay. What's missing from that list? Randy: Okay, what's missing from that list? People, men and women, are not on that list. I put here dominating, the domination of one human over another is not part of this covenant. And it's not part of God's design. It's not part of God's will and part of God's purpose. We're talking about whether we're talking about a husband and a wife relationship. parents and kids relationship, employee, employer and employee relationship, or government, government and people. All those relationships, the leaders are required to lead. They're required to to guide, lead, set vision, set priorities, provide resources to do those those things. That's what a leaders do, but is never to dominate. Jeff Ward: set visions, set priorities, provide resources to do those those things. That's what our leaders do, but it's never to dominate. You left out the church. I left out the church. A pastor over the church. Yep. A deacon over the church. A pastor over the deacons. Yep. Those are all places where leadership is to be, but not domination. Randy: I left out the church. A pastor over the church. A deacon over the church. A pastor over the deacons. Those are all places where leadership is to be, but not domination. Jeff Ward: Yep. But your domination, manipulation, and control are all witchcraft. Yeah. All witchcraft. And it's for forbidden multiple times in the scripture. Randy: But here domination, manipulation, and control are all witchcraft. All witchcraft. And it's for forbidden multiple times in the scripture. Galatians 5, 19, and 20 list sorcery or witchcraft, or where there's witchcraft, which is manipulation and control of an of another human being, as a fl work of the flesh, it can quickly go to beyond that. To a Jeff Ward: Galatians five, nineteen and twenty list sorcery or witchcraft, or where there's witchcraft, which is manipulation and control of an of another human being, as a f work of the flesh, it can quickly go to beyond that, to a s Randy: the occult uses witchcraft in the supernatural to dominate and control and manipulate. If you are in the habit of doing that, or if you are doing that. then that is in fact witchcraft and that is a work of the flesh at best. it may it it will go supernatural to the point that that now you're trapped. let's see. Yeah. It's spiritual or fleshly, and it is of the devil. Period. And we know that from verse twenty six. Calatians five, nineteen, twenty, and many other places talk talks about sorcery, divination, witchcraft, the occult. And we won't even gossip, gossip is said to be satanic. Jeff Ward: Yeah. It's spiritual or fleshly and it is of the devil. Period. Yeah. And we know that from verse twenty six. Calatians five, nineteen, twenty, and many other places talk talks about sorcery, divination, witchcraft, the occult. And we're at it. Gossip. Gossip is said to be satanic. Randy: It's part gossip is manipulation and control. You're destroying somebody's reputation. Slander. Slander is is is in many of the lists that are abomination. and it is manipulation and control and it is satanic. All right. That's all I have on that. You wanna go on or do you anything else before we go on? All right, how about let's go read twenty-eight through thirty-one. We already read thirty-one last session, but let's get caught up. Verse twenty-eight through thirty-one, 'cause we're gonna have some more assignments here. God bless him and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the and the birds of the air and every creature that moves on the ground. Jeff Ward: get caught up. Verse 28 gives we're gonna have some more experiences. God blessed him and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that moves on the ground. Then God said, Randy: Then God said, Jeff Ward: I now give you every seed bearing plant on the face of the entire earth, and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food, and to all the animals of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to all the creatures that move on the ground, everything that has living breath in it, I give every green plant for food. It was so. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, the sixth day. Okay. We have several more assignments there. They're kind of you could maybe put all underneath the Randy: I now give you every seed bearing plant on the face of the entire earth, and every tree that has in it. They will be yours food, and to all the animals of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to all the creatures that move on the ground, everything that has living breath in it, I give every green plant for food. It was so. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, the sixth day. Okay. We have several more assignments there. They're kinda you could maybe put all underneath the heading of rule or dominion, but that word rule there is the same word we've already discussed. But first one is to be fruitful and multiply. Here's something that again has been abused by non-believers and maybe even believers within the church and certainly for those outside the church. But but but let's not ignore it. God expects increase. He said be fruitful and multiply. That's increase. Jeff Ward: I put here increase is built into creation and is expected of man. And if you're if you have believed some of the things that talk against this in in different teachings, you probably are uneasy about that right now. But let's go solve that problem. Let's go get rid of this uneasiness. Flip over to Matthew 25. Randy: I put here, increase is built into creation and is expected of man. And if you're if you have believed some of the things that talk against this and in different teachings, you probably are uneasy about that right now. But let's go solve that problem. Let's go get rid of this uneasiness. Flip over to Matthew 25. Jeff Ward: And let's see. Randy: And let's see. Jeff Ward: It the whole section I'm talking about is verse fourteen through thirty, but it's not taking time to read all that. Yeah. But this is a this is a talking about talents. So a man is leaving town, a ruler is leaving town, and he's gonna leaves his people with talents. I think each of them get ten. I can't remember if this this is that one. They and and and then he comes back to He did one gave five, another two, and another one according to his ability. Okay, so Randy: It the the whole section I'm talking about is verse fourteen through thirty, but let's not take time to read all that. But this is a this is a talking about talents. So a man is leaving town, a ruler is leaving town, and he's gonna g leaves his people with talents. I think each of them get ten. I can't remember if this this is that one. They and and and then he comes back to let's one he gave five, another two, and another one. Okay. Okay, so We got more. I must be Matthew. Yeah, it's Matt I it's Luke nineteen where he gives ten to everybody. So so he's gives them according to their ability five, two, and one. So let's see what comes back. let's see. Read verse twenty-six out of that. So he's come back and he's seeing what everybody has has done with his money they left him. But his master answered, Evil and lazy slave, so you knew that I harvest where I didn't sow and gather where I didn't scatter. Then you should have deposited the money with the bankers, and on my return I would have received Jeff Ward: Read verse twenty six out of that. So he's come back and he's seen what everybody done with this money that he left. Mm-hmm. But his master answered, Evil and lazy slave, so you knew that I harvest where I didn't sow and gather where I didn't scatter. Then you should have deposited the money with the bankers, and on my return I would have received my money back with interest. Randy: Keep reading through thirty while you're reading. Take the talent from him and give it to the one who one who has will be given more, and he more than enough. But the one who does not have, even what he has, will be taken from him, and throw that worthless slave into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Here's Jeff Ward: Therefore, take the talent from him and give it to the one who has ten, for the one who has will be given more, and he will have more than enough. But the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken from him, and throw that worthless slave into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Randy: a question. From that, does it appear that God's okay with not producing f increase and multiplication? No. I mean, he uses words that you and I would not use. You and I would not use these words. Yeah. Calls him evil, calls him a worthless slave, and cast him into Jeff Ward: Right. Right. You and I would know. A little harsh, yes. Seems harsh. Yep. Cause him a worthless slave and cast him into Randy: outer darkness. Wow. So this is not a small thing. and then he and then he makes an astounding statement. He says, Whoever has more will be given more. And whoever does not have what he has will be taken away. And and we'll look in Luke. He gets some pushback in Luke. We'll look at that here in just a second. Mark 4.8. Go read that if you don't mind. It's a similar parable. I think it's a different one. I'm sure it's a different one. Mark 4-8. But it's a it's a similar parable. We won't go into the time. You can go read Mark 4-8, but I mean that section. But read Mark 4.8. Jeff Ward: Different one. Mark 4 8. But it's a it's a similar parable. We won't go into the time. You can go read Mark 4 8, but I mean that section. But read Mark 4-8. Okay. But other seed fell on good soil and produced grain, sprouting and growing. Some yielded thirty times as much, some sixty, and some a hundred times. Okay, so this is the same parable we read a few weeks ago about seed being planted, and this is the word of God. Randy: Seed fell on good soil and produced grain, sprouting and growing. Some yielded thirty times as much, some sixty, and some a hundred times. Okay, so this is the same parable we read a few weeks ago about seed being planted, and this is the word of God here, but it is a picture of creation, and you see it everywhere that God seed and then it produces thirty, sixty hundred times. Flip over to Luke nineteen. Jeff Ward: a picture of creation and you see it everywhere that God seed and then it produces 30, 60 hundred times. Flip over to Luke 19. Now this is the a similar this is the one that's similar to Matthew 25. Only this one he's going to give his his guys everybody gets 10 I believe in this. Yeah. Yeah. Read Luke 19 24 through 27 Randy: Now this is the a similar this is the one that's similar to Matthew 25. Only this one he's going to give his his guys, everybody gets 10, I believe, in this one. Read Luke 19, 24 through 27. And Jeff Ward: And he said to his attendants, Take the mina from him and give it to the one who has ten. But they said to him, You want me to read more? Yeah. through twenty seven. Randy: he said to his attendants, take the minor from ten. But they said to him, You want me to read more? Yeah. through twenty-seven. Twenty-seven, yeah, twenty-four through twenty-seven. Okay. Take the minor. Jeff Ward: Okay, take the minor from him and give it to one who has ten. But they said to him, Sir, he has ten miners already. I tell you that every one who has will be given more, but from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. But as for these enemies of mine who did not want to bring me to their king, bring them here and slaughter them in front of me. But here he gives Randy: And give it to one who has ten. But they said to him, Sir, he has ten minors already. I tell you that everyone who has will be given more. But from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. But as for these enemies of mine who did not want to bring me to their king, bring them here and slaughter front of me. Alright. And that to me amazing again, words that we wouldn't use. But here he gives from the unproductive, the one that hasn't multiplied. He's given it to the one that has multiplied. Now keep in mind, this this person didn't even risk it. It's not that he risked it and lost it. It's that he didn't even he didn't even put it in the game. And then and he took it from him. And then the folks in the crowd complain. I think that's interesting. And he just pushes back. He goes, Yep, but no. Here's here's the rule. And then he slaughters his enemies, this king that comes back. Jeff Ward: here's the rule. And then he slaughters his enemies. This queen that comes back. So my point is this command to be fruitful and multiply is not something to be taken lightly. These are these are two parables and then one one well the other's a parable two three parables that that bring that to bring that Randy: So my point is this command to be fruitful and multiply is not something to be taken lightly. These are these are two parables and then one one well the other's a parable two, three parables that that bring that to bring that out. The next one is that we're told to do is to fill. If that word means actually means to ex to to consecrate. There's it's not just like filling up a jar. Jeff Ward: next one is that we're told to do is to fill. If that word means actually means to ex to to consecrate. There's it's not just like filling up a jar. Randy: He's talking about filling the earth. Jeff Ward: He's talking about filling the earth. He he does it it it means move into or fill and concentrate the earth. It's it's to take the earth and set it apart for God's purposes. So we have the earth out there. We're not just to fill it as in go move in. But as we move in and take the territory, we are we are consecrated as being being making it saying it belongs to God. So we are to be fruitful and multiply, and we were to fill with the idea of Randy: He he does it it it means move into or fill and concentrate the earth. It's it's to take the earth and set it apart for God's purposes. So we have the earth out there. We're not just to fill it as in go move in, but as we move in and take the territory, we are we are consecrated it as being being making saying it belongs to God. So we are to be fruitful and multiply, and we were to fill with the idea of of redeeming this. land for the Lord. The next one is subdue. It's a it's it's a fairly violent word. I put it here, inside the garden it was calm and feast feastful. We're not told what the rest of the earth will look like physically nor spiritually, but the word go subdue it indicates that there was some some ruckus out there. There was some chaos out there. We were to bring order to that. it means to tread down, to conquer or to subjugate. And it and it implies with force where necessary. So we were we were supposed to or Adam and Eve and us, we were to leave the garden and go out and bring order and bring it in underneath the dominion of the Lord through man. We mentioned rule. This is the same thing we've already kind of talked about, but rule is mentioned again here. and all of this could be kind of put into dominion. here's a question that I'll that we'll answer to. I said, How does a man rule over a beast that's many times stronger and bigger than him? He issues commands. Again, going back to being created his image and our words matter. Jeff Ward: Mentioned rule. This is the same thing we've already kind of talked about, but rules mentioned again here. and all of this could be kind of put into dominion. here's a question that I'll that we'll answer too. I said, How does a man rule over a beast that's many times stronger and bigger than him? He issues commands again, going back to being created his image and our words matter. Randy: Alright, we're created in this pattern so that we can rule. So that we can have dominion. Here's some things that while we're here we'll talk about. if you read that, here's the question. Can we eat carrots? Can we eat potatoes? Can we eat onions? Yes. No. Because it's green? Because it's not it's the root. Doesn't say we can eat the roots. Jeff Ward: in this pattern so that we can rule. So that we can have dominion. Here's some things that while we're here we'll talk about. if you read that, here's the question. Can we eat carrots? Can we eat potatoes? Can we eat onions? Yes. No. Because it's not green? Because it's not it's the root. Doesn't say we can eat the roots. Trick question. Why'd you do that? Yeah, what about lettuce? It didn't say we need the leaves either. It says we need the seeds and the fruit. Randy: What about Yeah. What about lettuce? It doesn't say we need the leaves either. It says we need the seeds and the fruit. Isn't that right? So if it's not seed and not fruit, we can't eat it. So maybe we should go quit eating it. Jeff Ward: So if it's not seed and not fruit we can't eat it. So maybe we should go quit eating it. Randy: That's n don't go quit eating it. 'Cause 'cause in chapter nine speaking to Noah, God adds the whole plant and it adds meat. Jeff Ward: 'Cause in chapter nine, right. Speaking of Noah, God adds meat the whole plan stuff. Yeah. Randy: I put here, you know, we can eat seeds in the plant. So beans, ochre, tomatoes, berries, trees from the fruit. So nuts and oranges, we can do it. Here's the thing. When you eat the seeds and when you eat the fruit, you do not destroy the plant. When you eat the roots, when you eat the leaves, you destroy the plant. Think through that. Jeff Ward: You know, we can eat seeds in the plant. Randy: And that put here, can we eat back to already answered the question. My next question was can we eat meat? And I put, well, we can, but Adam and Eve didn't and couldn't. They were vegetarians. Why? Destroys the animal. I put here, it would seem that before the fall, it was a foreign concept to destroy anything. So we ate what the what the plants produced, but we did not eat the plant itself. We did not eat animals. Jeff Ward: So we ate what the what the plants produced, but we did not eat the plant itself. We did not eat animals. Yeah. And then I put your answer to it. which brings us up to question, why is it okay now? Randy: And then I put here I've kind of already answered it. which brings us up the question. Why is it okay now? well one, we get the authority, and I think we're gonna go look at that sometime. I don't have it here. It's in it's in Genesis nine. no, I do. You got time? Genesis nine one through three. How about going there? Well you're not going anywhere. Genesis nine one through three. Jeff Ward: authority and I think we're gonna go look at that sometime. I don't have it here. It's in it's in Genesis nine. no you got time Genesis nine one through three yeah going there. Sure. I'm not going anywhere. Genesis nine one through three. Okay. Then God blessed Noah and sons, and his sons, and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. Every living creature of the earth and every bird of the sky will be terrified of you. Everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea are under your authority. You may eat any moving thing that lives. As I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. We can eat it all now. We're meat eaters. Randy: Bless Noah and sons and his sons and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply it and fill the earth. Every living creature of the earth and every bird of the sky will be terrified of you. Everything that creeps on the ground, and all the fish of the sea, are under your authority. any moving thing that lives. As I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. Before the fall, or before the flood, we were not meat eaters. Jeff Ward: Yeah. After the flood. We're meat eaters, we can eat the roots, we can eat the leaves, we eat the plant itself, right? So herbs and all those kinds of things where you eat the whole plant. Yep, couldn't do that before, but now we can. I I was kind of just thinking, okay, so why? and I put here I well, we're not told, but my guess is it's probably something to do with our inability to get proper nutrition from plants alone after the flood. Randy: After the flood, we're meat eaters, we can eat the roots, we can eat the leaves, we can eat the plant itself, right? So herbs and all those kinds of things where you eat the whole plant. Yep. Couldn't do that before, but now we can. I I was kind of just thinking, okay, so why? and I put here I s well we're not told, but my guess is it's probably something to do with our inability to get proper nutrition from pr plants alone after the flood. Remember, we don't know how the world Jeff Ward: We don't know how the work. Randy: changed. We but we know it changed changed drastically. It didn't just rain and fill the water and go away. that water had to come from somewhere. If you go read that, which we will in a few weeks, it burst up from from below and it came down from from from above. So maybe if the you know, the theory of this ice sphere around us, maybe maybe that broke. and s produce rain and then and then things were watered from a mist and from the from underneath the plants is how they were watered. They weren't watered with rain until after the flood. So things change change. My point there, things change in a way that we really don't know don't have fully concept of, right? okay. Let's keep going. And at the very end of this, to finish out chapter one, after each day God said it's good. After he created man, he said it was very good. Jeff Ward: And at the very end of this, to finish out chapter one, after each day God said it's good. After he created man, he said it was very good. Yeah. Randy: Let's keep going. I'm I'm trying to plan my time here to split in between these two. Surely I can do that. Anyway, verse two, I mean chapter two, go to verses one through three, if you don't mind. Jeff Ward: Let's keep going. I'm I'm trying to plan my time here to split in between these two. Surely I can do that. Anyway, verse two, I mean chapter two, go to verses one through three. The heavens and the earth were completed with everything that was in them. By the seventh day, God finished the work that he had been doing, and he ceased on the seventh day all the work that he had been doing. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he ceased all the work that he had been doing in creation. Okay, he's done. Randy: The seventh day it holy because it he ceased all the work that he had been doing in creation. Okay, he's done. Creation is complete. Creation is complete after day six, and he rests on day seven. Another spear in the theory of evolution that it can keep going. Another spear in the thought of a Christian that says, evolution is real and authentic and proved, therefore I gotta manipulate scripture to fit into revolution. No I mean to evolution. Nope. evolution was not a to tool that God used to create you and I. Okay. So there you go. Let's go. Can you go to the ESV for the next one? I reckon. let me see. Do I this the only place Jeff Ward: I reckon probably cost me money. Just kidding. I'm gonna take take a quick thing about Sabbath day while you're looking at verse four in the ESV. Okay. The Sabbath was God rest. We now don't rest on the Sabbath. We work on Saturday. We have the Lord's Day. How is it okay to move and do that? Well in Hebrews chapter four the discussion on it says make every effort. It's a play on words. to Randy: I'm gonna take take a quick thing about Sabbath day while you're looking up verse four in the ESV. The Sabbath was God rest. We now don't rest on the Sabbath. We work on Saturday. We have the Lord's Day. How is it okay to move and do that? Well, in Hebrews chapter four, the discussion on that says make every effort. It's a play on words of to create tension between effort and rest. But make every effort to enter into The Lord's Sabbath rest. So every day is the Sabbath for the new covenant believer, because under the new covenant we no longer do works to be right with God. We do fruit of righteousness because we already are right with God. So anyway. verse four out of the ESV. These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the the heavens. Jeff Ward: These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens. Randy: He created everything in a day, according to that verse. We just read in chapter four they created everything in six days. New King James says the same thing. I I had you pick the S E S V just because the NET waters it down and doesn't just say what the Hebrew says. The C the Hebrew says, in the day that the Lord created, that the Lord made the earth and the heavens. What's my point here? There's, there's we weren't there. Is described in ways as days when there was no sun and no rotation of the earth. We weren't there. Here's described as a day. So my fervor is not with proving somebody right or wrong. Jeff Ward: somebody right or wrong bases on genocide my fur remember the boundaries you talked Randy: Bases on Genesis was my fervor. Remember the boundaries we talked about? Everything was created for Jesus, everything created by Jesus. Everything's held command by his command. There we have no excuse because we can see his glory and his power through creation. That's still within that. Whether it's one day, whether it's six days, whether it's 13 point something billion years, who knows? And a little bit of me goes, who cares? He designed me, so I have purpose and value, and he sent me out to do a bunch of things. And and let I put here, let's let our fervor be for Jesus Christ. Jeff Ward: Was created for Jesus, everything created by Jesus, everything is held command by his command. There we have no excuse because we can see his glory and his power through creation. That's still within that. Whether it's one day, whether it's six days, whether it's 13 point something billion years, who knows? And a little bit of me goes, who cares? He designed me so have purpose and value, and he sent me out to do a bunch of things. And and let I put here, let's let our fervor be for Jesus Christ, the creator, our redeemer, and not for our opinion on one. Randy: Christ, the creator, our redeemer, and not for our opinion on one. I just Jeff Ward: bring that out 'cause most people will re pass that and scoff it because it 'cause it doesn't fit. And I'm like, I I I acknowledge it doesn't fit. Well which one's right? Well if I knew better Hebrew maybe I could get make an argument one way or the other. Right. But I'm not gonna go there because I Randy: bring that out because most people will re pass that and scoff it because it because it doesn't fit. And I'm like, I I I acknowledge it doesn't fit. Well, which one's right? Well, if I knew better Hebrew, maybe I could get make an argument one way or the other, but I'm not going to go there because I not that I don't care, but part of me doesn't care. I am designed because that's all within that boundary of it all came through Christ and nobody has an excuse. Jeff Ward: Sure. I am designed because that's all within that boundary of it all came through Christ and nobody has an excuse. Yep. Let's go to verse seven. Now we're gonna kinda go, okay, he's already created man, but now we're gonna back up a little bit, which is what the way Hebrew writes. We're gonna back up a little bit and go through some some of the Randy: Let's go to verse 7. Now we're going to kind of go, okay, he's already created man, but now we're going to back up a little bit, which is what the way Hebrew writes. We're going to back up a little bit and go through some some of the some of the specifics that Hebrews says. Give me one second. Jeff Ward: specifics that Hebrews says. Give me one second. What do you think about your time? That's what I'm that's that's what I'm doing. I'm doing math. Math in public. We're at 45 minutes. Yeah. Forty five minutes we'll pause and then we'll go to the second half of the creation of man. We'll give all of y'all a break. All yeah you've been listening well. Yeah. Okay. Thanks, Randy. Randy: That's what I'm that's that's what I'm doing. I'm doing math, math in public. Let's let's pause here. Yeah. Forty five minutes we'll pause and then we'll go to the second half of the creation of man. We'll give all of y'all a break. All of y'all. All y'all. You've been listening well. Yeah. Thank you. You bet.
