- 0:46Speaker 2: Hello, ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:47Speaker 4: This is Carl Lee and I have my co hosts,
- 0:50Speaker 4: Lisa Odie and Hollis Lewis in the building.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Hello, guys. I just I was. I was in us Bank.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Stadium for or for the drive for the Vikings draft pick,
- 1:04Speaker 4: and and it was one of those kind of things
- 1:08Speaker 4: like we didn't get a chance like to pay close
- 1:10Speaker 4: attention to every single one of the drafts. And actually
- 1:14Speaker 4: literally it took just to get through the first round,
- 1:19Speaker 4: so really we only really covered like the first round
- 1:22Speaker 4: and then we were like kind of we were out
- 1:25Speaker 4: of the place.
- 1:25Speaker 2: But so how did you all feel? I don't know.
- 1:29Speaker 4: I don't know if this question is like your team
- 1:32Speaker 4: draft picks or the.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Draft as a whole. How did you see it?
- 1:37Speaker 4: I thought it was like, from my perspective, I thought
- 1:40Speaker 4: it was cool, but it was you know, it was
- 1:44Speaker 4: busy for me, so it I can't even imagine the
- 1:47Speaker 4: dudes who are taking part of the draft and all
- 1:51Speaker 4: those kind of things. But it was like okay to me.
- 1:55Speaker 4: I mean, it was like, you know, it's getting to
- 1:56Speaker 4: a point like the draft is the draft?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Is the draft?
- 1:59Speaker 5: Sure?
- 2:00Speaker 6: I mean, you know, excuse me. This is probably the
- 2:05Speaker 6: first year I watched pretty much every single round. Oh okay,
- 2:08Speaker 6: so I watched pretty much from start to finish. You know,
- 2:11Speaker 6: we'll talk about Shador Sanders later. But I thought it
- 2:14Speaker 6: was pretty good. And I thought, again, this was not
- 2:17Speaker 6: exciting draft. There was there's not a bunch of star
- 2:19Speaker 6: power in this draft. It was kind of Shador and
- 2:22Speaker 6: Travis Hunter and that was pretty much it as far
- 2:25Speaker 6: as star power is concerned. But I thought overall, I
- 2:29Speaker 6: thought teams did a good job because there was not
- 2:32Speaker 6: a bunch of star power and addressing needs. Right, you've
- 2:36Speaker 6: seen a lot of old linemen. You see a lot
- 2:38Speaker 6: of d lineman. You've seen a lot of sort of
- 2:40Speaker 6: the non sexy football positions go early and often. I mean,
- 2:45Speaker 6: it was a plethora of offensive lineman's tight ends, like
- 2:48Speaker 6: I said, defensive linemen. So I thought teams did a
- 2:51Speaker 6: good job of overall just pretty much. It wasn't too
- 2:56Speaker 6: many crazy things happening. It wasn't something that made you
- 2:59Speaker 6: necessarily scratch your hit per se. Obviously there were a couple,
- 3:03Speaker 6: but I thought teams did a good job of addressing
- 3:05Speaker 6: their individual needs.
- 3:06Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that's that's the perfect way to sum
- 3:08Speaker 5: it up, is what Hollis just said. I mean, I
- 3:10Speaker 5: do think there was an emphasis on the trenches, you
- 3:12Speaker 5: know what I mean. People were shoring up their their
- 3:15Speaker 5: offensive line and their defensive line this year, and a
- 3:18Speaker 5: lot of it had to, you know, attributed to the
- 3:19Speaker 5: fact that it was it was a relatively weak quarterback,
- 3:23Speaker 5: you know class other than you know, you've got of
- 3:27Speaker 5: course cam Ward and what was the Jackson Dart I
- 3:31Speaker 5: think first first round and so other than that, it
- 3:35Speaker 5: wasn't a real like sexy kind of draft, but it
- 3:39Speaker 5: was solid. I mean I think that it kind of followed,
- 3:42Speaker 5: you know, other than the Sanders slide, like you said,
- 3:44Speaker 5: we'll talk about in a minute or so. Other than that,
- 3:47Speaker 5: it kind of went with, you know, the deep and
- 3:49Speaker 5: strong running backs, the tight ends, the offensive tackles, the
- 3:53Speaker 5: things that that teams met their needs with.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Okay, all right, So I'm going to ask a question
- 3:59Speaker 4: to to both of you all's analysis of the draft.
- 4:05Speaker 4: And I'm wondering, and I said this earlier today, I
- 4:13Speaker 4: feel like the running game is on its way back.
- 4:18Speaker 4: And to the fact you start looking at running backs,
- 4:23Speaker 4: you start looking at offensive line, defensive line. All of
- 4:27Speaker 4: this to me signals we got to have an offensive line,
- 4:31Speaker 4: not necessarily to throw the ball, but to do what
- 4:34Speaker 4: But to run.
- 4:35Speaker 2: We need a We need defensive.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Lineman, not just the pass rush, but to be able
- 4:41Speaker 4: to play the run. We is the NFL on a swing?
- 4:48Speaker 4: Is it swinging back to the running game? I would
- 4:52Speaker 4: say yes, And I provides you with a couple of reasons.
- 4:56Speaker 4: I think number one, when you look at the makeup
- 4:59Speaker 4: of a lot of defense, says you're not you don't
- 5:02Speaker 4: have the big you know Michael Singletary's you don't have
- 5:05Speaker 4: those big, girthy linebackers or those defensive linements. You have
- 5:10Speaker 4: really what we maybe be considered like a safety back
- 5:13Speaker 4: in the day as playing middle linebacker or will or sam.
- 5:16Speaker 4: So I think what's happening is is that Number one,
- 5:19Speaker 4: I think OC's are seeing that, hey, we may be
- 5:21Speaker 4: able to, you know, have a lane in running the ball.
- 5:24Speaker 4: And number two, I don't think it's sustainable that you
- 5:27Speaker 4: can have a quarterback to do all that at that level. Right,
- 5:30Speaker 4: quarterback can be responsible for running because to the like
- 5:33Speaker 4: I said, we'll talk about it later, but there's only
- 5:36Speaker 4: so many elite athletes that can actually do this, and
- 5:39Speaker 4: I mean at a high level.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Right.
- 5:41Speaker 6: If you look at the quarterback who got drafted, Melroy
- 5:43Speaker 6: from Alabama, I mean no disrespect, but I had him packed.
- 5:48Speaker 6: I thought he's gonna be a running back, you know
- 5:50Speaker 6: what I'm saying, or maybe a wide out because you
- 5:52Speaker 6: know he's an athlete.
- 5:53Speaker 2: He was not a great quarter college quarterback.
- 5:55Speaker 6: He's really good, but not what I would project as
- 5:57Speaker 6: an NFL quarterback. But teams have to take that draft
- 6:02Speaker 6: pick now because you need the athletic guy. So to
- 6:05Speaker 6: answer your question, I think it's swinging back to running
- 6:08Speaker 6: backs because that way you can take the pressure off
- 6:10Speaker 6: your quarterback. You don't necessarily need a quarterback who can
- 6:13Speaker 6: do it all, who can just focus on that position.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Okay, I got a question to that.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Do you think that's that speaks to I'm gonna I'm
- 6:27Speaker 4: gonna call the athletic quarterback being.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Who can throw and run. That is that part of
- 6:35Speaker 2: that change too.
- 6:36Speaker 6: You have to be if you can't do both, like
- 6:39Speaker 6: like I told you, like when you're talking about those
- 6:42Speaker 6: when you're talking about the Mahomes, the Josh Allen's, the
- 6:45Speaker 6: Lamar Jackson, the Jalen Hurst.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Girls, you have to be that.
- 6:48Speaker 6: Yeah, you can't do both, and you can't just be
- 6:51Speaker 6: the pocket guy neither. You gotta be able to have
- 6:54Speaker 6: some wiggle to So could a tom Brady draft pick
- 6:56Speaker 6: be possible? I mean tom Brady's tom Brady, but I
- 6:59Speaker 6: think he still has the luxury of going to the
- 7:02Speaker 6: situation that he went into. If you watch a lot
- 7:04Speaker 6: of those Tom Brady clips, he wasn't necessarily he wasn't
- 7:06Speaker 6: get in touch. I mean, yeah, life is a linement
- 7:08Speaker 6: that burnt like you and they always had a pretty
- 7:11Speaker 6: decent you know running back.
- 7:13Speaker 5: Jesus Sure, Well, I was just going to say, I
- 7:15Speaker 5: think we can thank the Philadelphia Eagles for this rebirth
- 7:17Speaker 5: in the running game as well. I mean they proved
- 7:19Speaker 5: they won a Super Bowl with Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts.
- 7:23Speaker 5: You know, they were the perfect perfect storm. You know,
- 7:25Speaker 5: they came in and they showed other NFL teams. You know,
- 7:28Speaker 5: if you have this offensive power, you have a mobile
- 7:31Speaker 5: quarterback and a running back that can you know, run
- 7:33Speaker 5: the ball, will you have a chance to make it
- 7:36Speaker 5: to the Super Bowl and you know, find a way
- 7:38Speaker 5: to get there.
- 7:39Speaker 4: And you know, and yeah, that's that's that's a fact
- 7:42Speaker 4: and the and the reality of having that is having
- 7:45Speaker 4: that quarterback to run because now you're looking at Barkley.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Now you fake it, you boot legg around. Now you
- 7:51Speaker 2: get yeah, that.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Because you have to be able to focus on one
- 7:57Speaker 4: of those particular guys and you can't do both.
- 8:00Speaker 6: And now, even to this, it's sort of a strategic
- 8:02Speaker 6: advantage because again it's not like back in the day
- 8:05Speaker 6: far as practice schedule, you don't really do a whole
- 8:08Speaker 6: lot of hitting in practice more right, like they don't
- 8:10Speaker 6: do that. So if you got to go out and
- 8:12Speaker 6: you got a two hundred and thirty pounds running back
- 8:15Speaker 6: who can run a four four four five and ain't
- 8:18Speaker 6: afraid to stick his head. And I mean I can
- 8:19Speaker 6: imagine tacking tackling Derrick Henry, you know, with thirty players
- 8:24Speaker 6: a game that's tough.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's that's a that's an issue, all right.
- 8:30Speaker 2: So this is a tough question.
- 8:34Speaker 4: And Hollers, you sent this in to me, because here's
- 8:39Speaker 4: I'm gonna I'm gonna give my assessment again. Every draft
- 8:44Speaker 4: pick is not They don't turn out to be what
- 8:48Speaker 4: what you what you want them to be all the time.
- 8:51Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 8:52Speaker 4: And so to your to your question about who won
- 8:55Speaker 4: the draft, I don't know yet. I don't know until
- 9:02Speaker 4: because there's somebody who needed depth. There was somebody who
- 9:06Speaker 4: needed somebody to come in and play right now, the
- 9:09Speaker 4: question would be did I secure that depth. We may
- 9:12Speaker 4: not see it because maybe somebody doesn't get hurt. You
- 9:15Speaker 4: look at that guy that that position that you needed,
- 9:17Speaker 4: let's say quarterback.
- 9:19Speaker 2: We won't know until they get there.
- 9:21Speaker 4: So I really don't think and I think the draft
- 9:26Speaker 4: itself is as overhyped kind of a thing because almost
- 9:32Speaker 4: everybody's kind of really guessing.
- 9:35Speaker 6: Well, I mean, I mean, I know the science behind it,
- 9:38Speaker 6: I mean, I know what you're saying, but I'm just saying,
- 9:40Speaker 6: as far as on draft day, who do we think
- 9:42Speaker 6: when obviously the time will tell.
- 9:45Speaker 2: You know for sure, you.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Told me that the Vikings were like twenty or somebody
- 9:50Speaker 4: told me that the Vikings.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Gave me the number. I don't even remember who it was.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Somebody gave it to me and they said the Vikings
- 9:55Speaker 4: were like ranked twenty eighth overall at in their draft picks.
- 10:00Speaker 4: And I'm not gonna I'm not going to try to
- 10:02Speaker 4: challenge that, but I'm going to say like that, I
- 10:04Speaker 4: think that the Vikings what they did do, what a
- 10:07Speaker 4: lot of guys were talking about, was they did go
- 10:09Speaker 4: after some things that they really needed. So now my
- 10:12Speaker 4: question to that is, does that mean that they're that
- 10:16Speaker 4: that that means at least is not going to be
- 10:18Speaker 4: that good at the position she's playing, Hollis, Does that
- 10:21Speaker 4: mean you're not going to be that good at the position?
- 10:24Speaker 6: How you too far ahead? I'm just talking about just
- 10:26Speaker 6: for the draft. Just who do we think wanted? We
- 10:29Speaker 6: don't Again, Tom will tell we don't know.
- 10:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, it's like going to a restaurant and
- 10:34Speaker 5: bordered your food and don't at least good. Yeah, the
- 10:36Speaker 5: menu said it's going to see they're just missed, but
- 10:39Speaker 5: you know, the meal make them out completely different.
- 10:41Speaker 4: I'll give you credit for that, and I'll take the
- 10:42Speaker 4: blame on that because because like for me, like I have,
- 10:45Speaker 4: I already have like a chip on my shoulder with
- 10:47Speaker 4: the draft, right, you know, and all the science that
- 10:50Speaker 4: people say that goes in it and all that kind
- 10:52Speaker 4: of stuff, I think that that's I don't know if
- 10:56Speaker 4: that really works because there's too many players that they
- 10:58Speaker 4: have missed. There's too many players that that they let
- 11:02Speaker 4: that they didn't take that what what.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Other system could you implement that?
- 11:06Speaker 2: I don't know. I can't say that. I don't. It's
- 11:09Speaker 2: just a guessing game at this point.
- 11:11Speaker 4: But what makes me, what bothers me, though, is how
- 11:14Speaker 4: how they continuously make this like so like, oh, we've
- 11:18Speaker 4: done all this work, We've done all this study, and
- 11:20Speaker 4: I'm not saying that they haven't.
- 11:23Speaker 2: But own it. When you're wrong, I mean when.
- 11:27Speaker 5: You're wrong, I mean who do you think one?
- 11:29Speaker 6: I mean who won and lost? I liked what Cleveland
- 11:33Speaker 6: did initially and what I thought they were going to
- 11:35Speaker 6: do by trading out of that pick they had a
- 11:37Speaker 6: two picks, and I was like, they're doing the right thing,
- 11:39Speaker 6: because I'm saying for a franchise like that at this point,
- 11:43Speaker 6: you all you always want to get quality, but you
- 11:46Speaker 6: need quantity too if you're like Cleveland, Right, So them
- 11:50Speaker 6: trading out, getting you know, additional picks next year, getting
- 11:53Speaker 6: additional picks this year. I thought they were the ones
- 11:56Speaker 6: that I'm like, Okay, they're finally getting it. But I mean,
- 11:59Speaker 6: I don't know, if you drafted two running backs, you
- 12:03Speaker 6: drafted two quarterbacks, a tight end in a d tackle,
- 12:07Speaker 6: it's like like like come on, man, and then you
- 12:12Speaker 6: could have had your door rounds ahead. So it's to me,
- 12:16Speaker 6: I don't know if it's like they I thought they
- 12:17Speaker 6: won initially, but they probably end double probably gonna lose.
- 12:21Speaker 6: To me, it's like get the old lineman, get your
- 12:23Speaker 6: foundation set, and then kind of go there. Although you know,
- 12:27Speaker 6: and then people even have questions about make some grams.
- 12:29Speaker 6: So it's kind of like I thought they won initially
- 12:32Speaker 6: by doing the trade, but they probably in the blues.
- 12:34Speaker 5: I think the Jaguars really benefited from that more so
- 12:37Speaker 5: than the Browns did. I mean, like you said, they
- 12:38Speaker 5: had that opportunity to take advantage of and they didn't.
- 12:41Speaker 5: They fumbled the ball that they seem to do that
- 12:44Speaker 5: a lot. But the Jaguars, I mean, I thought what
- 12:46Speaker 5: they did moving you know, from the fifth spot overall
- 12:49Speaker 5: to second to pick up Travis Hunter was was brilliant.
- 12:52Speaker 3: You know.
- 12:53Speaker 5: I think that was a good move on their part,
- 12:55Speaker 5: and you know, kind of a surprise, but you know,
- 12:57Speaker 5: I thought that was probably.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Your address is the need to ye so definitely. And
- 13:01Speaker 2: and and I really really really really.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Think that he can play, like I like, I really
- 13:07Speaker 4: do think like he's he's that good of a player.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Now again, I'm not sure if he'll play both positions,
- 13:15Speaker 4: but I think that there's an opportunity for him to
- 13:19Speaker 4: to step in every now and then if need be.
- 13:23Speaker 2: But where does he step in at? Where does I'm thinking?
- 13:25Speaker 4: I think I think My thoughts is I think he
- 13:28Speaker 4: should go to the defensive side, but I think that
- 13:30Speaker 4: they're going to start him on the offensive side. That's
- 13:34Speaker 4: what I think, because because what do you want? You
- 13:36Speaker 4: want to score points? You know what I'm saying. And
- 13:39Speaker 4: and and if he's a guy that can get you
- 13:41Speaker 4: some of that, and it's Trevor Trevor Lawrence, is there too.
- 13:44Speaker 2: And he needs weapons.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Yeah, so I'm thinking I'm thinking that you you start him,
- 13:48Speaker 4: you start him at the at the O side, and
- 13:54Speaker 4: if we run into a situation where we need him
- 13:56Speaker 4: to shut that shut somebody down. Team that might have
- 13:59Speaker 4: a couple of really good receivers or whatever. Now maybe
- 14:02Speaker 4: we can send them over to the defensive side.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Well, I'll tell you this, This was pretty interesting. I
- 14:06Speaker 5: found this. But if they considered him to be a
- 14:09Speaker 5: starting cornerback rather than the offensive side of the ball,
- 14:12Speaker 5: then that would be the biggest draft of a non
- 14:16Speaker 5: quarterback position since nineteen sixty seven. Wow, and that's like
- 14:20Speaker 5: a year before I was born. Wow, it's been a minute.
- 14:25Speaker 5: So yeah, I thought that was pretty impressive.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Story. That's crazy. Yeah, that's yeah.
- 14:32Speaker 5: Highest drafted cornerback ever or not ever, but since nineteen
- 14:35Speaker 5: sixty seven. So that's that's a period of time.
- 14:39Speaker 4: I wouldn't have known. I wouldn't have I wouldn't have
- 14:41Speaker 4: thought like that. That would have never crossed my mind. Yeah,
- 14:46Speaker 4: so let's jump before before we take a break.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Let's jump. And I'm not jumping. I'm not jumped too far.
- 14:54Speaker 5: Sam the prank all the prank call. Yeah, now.
- 15:02Speaker 4: There would be nowhere in my mind, nowhere in my
- 15:06Speaker 4: lifetime would I think somebody would sit at home and
- 15:12Speaker 4: think about it and say, you know what, what if
- 15:15Speaker 4: we just fake this call and call one?
- 15:19Speaker 2: How do you get the number? You know how? There
- 15:22Speaker 2: was a story.
- 15:22Speaker 5: There was a story to that, right, like dad left
- 15:25Speaker 5: an iPad unlocked with that had.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I didn't see that?
- 15:28Speaker 6: Some numbers his father as a coach for the Falcons.
- 15:34Speaker 5: Yeah, so okay, he's a defensive coordinator.
- 15:36Speaker 4: Right. Also, okay, all right, I get it. I didn't
- 15:40Speaker 4: get I didn't get that. But still you're looking at
- 15:43Speaker 4: this number and you're like thinking, okay, I'm going to
- 15:45Speaker 4: call holl.
- 15:45Speaker 2: At least twenty one that did the prank too. Not
- 15:48Speaker 2: a kid is.
- 15:50Speaker 5: A teenager, but fat.
- 15:52Speaker 6: The fact that the question is is like what should
- 15:55Speaker 6: what should happen? What should be the penalty for that?
- 15:59Speaker 6: Or should there be one?
- 16:01Speaker 2: Well?
- 16:01Speaker 5: I will, I will put this out there because I
- 16:03Speaker 5: really think this is important. I know that should Or
- 16:05Speaker 5: has been getting some some bad press for you know,
- 16:09Speaker 5: personality things and just his presentation and the interviews and stuff,
- 16:14Speaker 5: so I know that's out there. But the way he
- 16:16Speaker 5: handled this whole situation was pretty classy. He come out
- 16:20Speaker 5: with his statement and and pretty much, you know, part
- 16:23Speaker 5: of it, I'm not going to read it word for word,
- 16:24Speaker 5: was you know, he said, of course, I feel like
- 16:26Speaker 5: it was a childish act, but everybody does childish things
- 16:29Speaker 5: here and there, So I felt like, you know, that
- 16:31Speaker 5: was kind of a a a nice way of saying,
- 16:33Speaker 5: you know, I know you made a mistake, and everybody
- 16:36Speaker 5: makes mistakes. So I thought the way he handled it
- 16:38Speaker 5: was was pretty professional.
- 16:41Speaker 2: I think that.
- 16:42Speaker 6: I think that's huge. But what should be the punish
- 16:45Speaker 6: Should they should they? Should they find the falcons? Should
- 16:47Speaker 6: the coach be punished? Obviously, I can't punish the who
- 16:50Speaker 6: did the prime.
- 16:51Speaker 5: They punished the coach, though you left.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Your ipack on iPad unattended.
- 16:55Speaker 4: I think that's a I think that's a team coach situation. Yeah,
- 17:00Speaker 4: the person who makes the call, I think, now you.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Well, I'm going to say one more thing, and I
- 17:07Speaker 5: promise I'll be quiet.
- 17:08Speaker 4: No.
- 17:08Speaker 5: No, But the NFL, okay, because we know this, this
- 17:11Speaker 5: particular call has been publicized right because it involves shdor
- 17:15Speaker 5: But the NFL confirmed to CNN just I think today
- 17:18Speaker 5: that you know, they're looking into additional prank calls that
- 17:21Speaker 5: happened with other draft tape fulls during this same period
- 17:25Speaker 5: of time, So it wasn't just an isolated incident. It
- 17:29Speaker 5: was something that had happened during the draft more than once.
- 17:34Speaker 5: So it's an issue. It's not just this issue, it's
- 17:36Speaker 5: it's it's sounds like it's an overall issue. They needed
- 17:39Speaker 5: to solve the problem, all.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Right, So answer answer me this question.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Like you're sitting home, what makes you think like, oh,
- 17:48Speaker 4: you know what I'm going to I'm going to make
- 17:50Speaker 4: a print call and call somebody off the black like
- 17:54Speaker 4: they're getting drafted in a certain round, Like why why?
- 17:58Speaker 6: That's like the nature of what kids do now. They
- 18:01Speaker 6: don't get twenty one. But what I'm saying is like
- 18:04Speaker 6: they get attention. You posted online, he he, you get
- 18:07Speaker 6: a bunch of hits. My question is what should happen
- 18:12Speaker 6: or is there something that should happen. Should the coach
- 18:14Speaker 6: be punished? Should the team be punished?
- 18:16Speaker 2: Okay, well let me ask you this.
- 18:18Speaker 5: I don't think the team.
- 18:18Speaker 4: I don't think the team should be punished, but I
- 18:21Speaker 4: think the coach. I think the son is I think
- 18:26Speaker 4: he's a grown man. So I don't think it's if
- 18:29Speaker 4: it's a kid, then the parents are accountable. If it's
- 18:32Speaker 4: an adult person making that call.
- 18:35Speaker 6: You have I seem equipment in somebody breach team equipment
- 18:41Speaker 6: that you left unattended. That's your fault, that's my fault.
- 18:44Speaker 6: So the coach should be punished. So it should be
- 18:47Speaker 6: suspended or fine.
- 18:49Speaker 5: So what about the other cause, well, we don't.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Know the details of other pranks.
- 18:52Speaker 6: I'm saying, we know the details of this one that
- 18:54Speaker 6: his son got into his intended I pad, I would.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Find the coach.
- 18:58Speaker 4: I would find the coach, But I gotta do something
- 19:02Speaker 4: to the person who made the who actually made the call.
- 19:04Speaker 2: But you don't have an authority. You know, you don't
- 19:07Speaker 2: have any, But I'm.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Saying that that could be. That could with you know,
- 19:13Speaker 4: Shaudre and and and Dion. They're not gonna they're not.
- 19:16Speaker 4: But what I'm saying is you have no authority over
- 19:18Speaker 4: the person who did it. You have authority old person
- 19:20Speaker 4: who allowed the breach to happen. So that person has
- 19:24Speaker 4: to be punished. That sensitive quote unquote sensitive information that
- 19:28Speaker 4: you left just unattended, Like will they tell your work
- 19:31Speaker 4: you you like if you leave your computer putting on
- 19:34Speaker 4: sleep Most so nobody can get into it, like you
- 19:37Speaker 4: wouldn't punished for that. I would have never thought in
- 19:40Speaker 4: my mind that there would be like people would do
- 19:45Speaker 4: this in the draft during draft time like like I
- 19:47Speaker 4: would have never.
- 19:49Speaker 5: And I wonder if it's happened in the past, like
- 19:51Speaker 5: I mean, it has to have happened, and it just
- 19:53Speaker 5: wasn't publicized. I think this one was publicized because of
- 19:55Speaker 5: the situation of Shure.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 19:58Speaker 6: I think you gotta punish the coach if you ask me,
- 20:01Speaker 6: that's just something gotta happen.
- 20:03Speaker 2: The twenty one year old has to be accountable.
- 20:05Speaker 5: How to account he placed the call.
- 20:09Speaker 6: He placed the call, but it's not illegal. It's not
- 20:12Speaker 6: like he did some crime.
- 20:13Speaker 5: So what would you think the punishment would be fair
- 20:15Speaker 5: for the coach?
- 20:16Speaker 2: Suspension or fine?
- 20:18Speaker 4: Okay, so if it was a suspension, what are you
- 20:21Speaker 4: talking two games?
- 20:22Speaker 2: Five games?
- 20:23Speaker 6: A game or what a game? You know, maybe twenty
- 20:27Speaker 6: thousand dollars something like that.
- 20:28Speaker 5: So just to make a statements, what you're pretty much saying.
- 20:32Speaker 2: To like, if you got this equipment, you cannot leave
- 20:34Speaker 2: it lying around.
- 20:35Speaker 5: Now, that's a good point.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Lock your iPad up, simple.
- 20:38Speaker 5: Maybe the kid found the password for his iPad too.
- 20:41Speaker 6: I'm just saying you shouldn't be giving out the password
- 20:44Speaker 6: number because whatever information is in there, you might have information.
- 20:48Speaker 6: What I'm saying is this, here's the problem with that.
- 20:51Speaker 6: If you're if you have access that twenty one year
- 20:54Speaker 6: old kid has access to his father's iPad, then he
- 20:57Speaker 6: knows who's hurt, who's playing. So you can even start
- 21:02Speaker 6: making bets off of this quote unquote insider information. So
- 21:07Speaker 6: you have to be punished to curtail any of that
- 21:10Speaker 6: moving forward. That's gonna open the floodgates to a bunch
- 21:15Speaker 6: of problems potentially.
- 21:17Speaker 4: All right, well, all right, we got I think we
- 21:19Speaker 4: only got about three more minutes. I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 21:24Speaker 4: I'm gonna address something just because we don't even have
- 21:28Speaker 4: to have a conversation about it. I'll just kind of
- 21:30Speaker 4: speak on it. But if anybody else wants to say
- 21:32Speaker 4: something about it, that's fine. So we were at the
- 21:38Speaker 4: draft at US Banks Stadium and Adrian Peterson was there
- 21:44Speaker 4: and he uh announced that one of the picks had
- 21:51Speaker 4: it took some time to have a conversation and talk
- 21:54Speaker 4: to the public and and all that kind of thing.
- 21:56Speaker 2: And then later on that night he got arrested for DUI.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Allegedly allegedly Okay, and uh, you know one of those
- 22:12Speaker 4: kinds you know, being a person who don't has doesn't
- 22:17Speaker 4: drink now, but used to drink and drink a lot
- 22:19Speaker 4: and have driven with alcohol. You know, it's one of
- 22:23Speaker 4: those kind of things that you really don't you really
- 22:26Speaker 4: don't think about.
- 22:28Speaker 2: But one of the things that bothers me, and.
- 22:35Speaker 4: Why I've really wanted to say something about it was
- 22:41Speaker 4: because this was something that was to me. This would
- 22:43Speaker 4: be something that you would be proud to have done,
- 22:47Speaker 4: and it would be something that you could hold on
- 22:50Speaker 4: to forever. And I know that every event there's always
- 22:57Speaker 4: going to be alcohol, there's going to be all of
- 22:58Speaker 4: that kind of stuff, and if you're a drinker, you know,
- 23:01Speaker 4: you may go too far or whatever. But I think
- 23:05Speaker 4: this was one of these kind of situations. This is
- 23:07Speaker 4: one of those moments that you know, as a former player,
- 23:12Speaker 4: that you get an opportunity to do that you just
- 23:14Speaker 4: can't mess up, you know, you just and I know,
- 23:19Speaker 4: trust me, I know how easy it would be to
- 23:24Speaker 4: mess it up. I know how easy it would be
- 23:27Speaker 4: if I was back in the day and I was
- 23:28Speaker 4: drinking I know how easy it would be for me
- 23:30Speaker 4: to have, you know, go have some drinks and then
- 23:34Speaker 4: not thinking about I got to drive my car and
- 23:38Speaker 4: go somewhere.
- 23:39Speaker 5: I don't know how you guys feel about this, but
- 23:41Speaker 5: in this day and age, there's no excuse to get
- 23:43Speaker 5: behind the wheel of a car when you know, I mean,
- 23:45Speaker 5: and it's alleged. We'll leave that there, you know what
- 23:48Speaker 5: Holli said. But I mean there's just so many options.
- 23:50Speaker 5: I mean, these guys could hire drivers. I mean, there's Uber.
- 23:54Speaker 5: I mean, there's just so many other modes of transportation.
- 23:57Speaker 5: When you know you're going to an event like this,
- 23:59Speaker 5: and if you know you're going to be having some
- 24:01Speaker 5: alcoholic beverages and you know, maybe having a little more
- 24:05Speaker 5: fun than usual. I mean, it's just something that that
- 24:08Speaker 5: I don't know. I mean, there's ways to get from
- 24:11Speaker 5: point A to point B safely, more options than you
- 24:15Speaker 5: had probably when you were young. There was not uber.
- 24:17Speaker 5: There was you know, maybe a taxi was it. But
- 24:20Speaker 5: but you know, and I'm sure, I mean he's he's
- 24:23Speaker 5: made it pretty well, right, I mean in his career,
- 24:25Speaker 5: he's got probably enough money to hire a driver.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, so why.
- 24:29Speaker 5: Not do something like that for an event like this.
- 24:31Speaker 4: We we every time I go to Minnesota. So gentleman
- 24:35Speaker 4: by the name of Buddy Becker, who I'll give him
- 24:38Speaker 4: a little bit of a shout out, who picks with
- 24:41Speaker 4: me all the time. But one of the things that
- 24:43Speaker 4: he makes sure that we have is we have somebody
- 24:47Speaker 4: who's driving us. We we typically don't drive anywhere after
- 24:53Speaker 4: a signing or get to the signing or coming back
- 24:56Speaker 4: from a signing or an event or whatever. You you're
- 25:00Speaker 4: you're never you're never gonna be drinking like or you're
- 25:04Speaker 4: never going to be driving, you know, even even there
- 25:08Speaker 4: will be guys who will pull up to his house, park,
- 25:12Speaker 4: get in a limo and go, you know, because it's
- 25:16Speaker 4: just not at this point in time, it's just not
- 25:18Speaker 4: worth that type of that type of a risk, you know.
- 25:23Speaker 4: So how dose I don't think you're gonna say anything.
- 25:27Speaker 6: I know, like situations like this, it's just like I'm cautious,
- 25:30Speaker 6: not the comment just on brewing legal battles, because I
- 25:33Speaker 6: just don't know the details. And I think it's in
- 25:35Speaker 6: our culture we've gotten a little bit you know, irresponsible,
- 25:40Speaker 6: just making all these broad assumptions when there's an allegation uh,
- 25:44Speaker 6: related to a criminal charge. But I think all the
- 25:46Speaker 6: points of valid and just has the bigger lesson, you know,
- 25:49Speaker 6: don't drink and drive.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Yeah, anyway, which is which is at this point, it's
- 25:54Speaker 4: really simple at this point, It just you just should not.
- 25:58Speaker 4: And you know, and again I can confess that I
- 26:01Speaker 4: have done it way more times than I probably should have.
- 26:06Speaker 5: But and when you're in a position like he is,
- 26:08Speaker 5: when you have the name and you know that they're
- 26:11Speaker 5: they're they're watching for that, I mean that part.
- 26:13Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, yeah, that's true too. All Right, we'll

- 27:20Speaker 2: All right, ladies and gentlemen, we are back.
- 27:23Speaker 4: And I purposely tried who give us the last half
- 27:29Speaker 4: of the show to potentially address Yeah, maybe the biggest
- 27:37Speaker 4: elephant in the room.
- 27:38Speaker 2: And I don't know how long so Shador Sanders.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Yeah, it's been was considered one of the best players
- 27:55Speaker 4: in college football. And then we get to the draft.
- 28:04Speaker 4: He's expected to go somewhere, probably early in the first round.
- 28:10Speaker 4: He ends up going into the fifth. Yeah, And as
- 28:17Speaker 4: a player, as a former player who has been in
- 28:20Speaker 4: the draft, it's probably well, I won't even say probably.
- 28:27Speaker 4: It is the hugest drop of any player in the
- 28:35Speaker 4: draft that I have been a part on this projection.
- 28:38Speaker 4: You know, yes, based on his skill set, his projections
- 28:41Speaker 4: and all of that.
- 28:45Speaker 2: And one of my concerns with that.
- 28:52Speaker 4: Is one is who he is, who his dad is.
- 28:58Speaker 4: But on the flip side of this, there were things
- 29:03Speaker 4: there were There were straight up conversation or or statements
- 29:09Speaker 4: that he made that I feel like put him in
- 29:13Speaker 4: a situation as an as for ownerships, you know, for
- 29:18Speaker 4: the people who owned the teams, for the for the
- 29:20Speaker 4: for the team, for the individuals who are drafting him.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Like you're not going to be bigger than the NFL.
- 29:29Speaker 3: You know.
- 29:29Speaker 4: I just feel like the NFL felt like because you
- 29:32Speaker 4: can't play in the NFL without some kind of confidence. Sure,
- 29:36Speaker 4: you know, I tell people like for me during or after,
- 29:43Speaker 4: I don't, I don't, don't don't consider. I was like,
- 29:46Speaker 4: don't say to me I'm an okay, I was an
- 29:48Speaker 4: okay NFL player, because okay NFL players do not have
- 29:55Speaker 4: that my resume. I'm not a Hall of Fame player
- 29:59Speaker 4: because I don't have that resume. You don't you don't
- 30:07Speaker 4: get the opportunity to take action on this skill set
- 30:14Speaker 4: player who's supposed to be a first round player. There's
- 30:18Speaker 4: zero chances of him dropping to the fifth, fifth round.
- 30:23Speaker 2: There's just there's just no way.
- 30:25Speaker 4: Unless somebody a group of people are saying, no, we're
- 30:32Speaker 4: not gonna take him.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Hollis is gonna Hollis. If I don't take him.
- 30:39Speaker 4: And he's still out there, you're gonna take him, you
- 30:41Speaker 4: skip him. There's no way Lease is not taking him.
- 30:44Speaker 4: He's too good of a player. Somebody had some conversation
- 30:49Speaker 4: and say, we're gonna show them that you're not gonna
- 30:51Speaker 4: be bigger than NFLI.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I I really don't.
- 30:56Speaker 6: It's the same conversation we had about Dak Prescott, right,
- 31:00Speaker 6: because of what we're saying if the analysis is saying
- 31:04Speaker 6: and again, and I'm not even going hypothetical, I'm not
- 31:07Speaker 6: going theoretical. I'm just going on what I see. We
- 31:10Speaker 6: look at the top five quarterbacks over the last several
- 31:12Speaker 6: years in the NFL, Mahomes, Allen Jackson, Hurts Burrow. They're
- 31:18Speaker 6: all elite athletes, elite athletes playing the quarterback position. They
- 31:24Speaker 6: have the ability to not only scramble and run and
- 31:26Speaker 6: do all the thing and make all the throws, you
- 31:29Speaker 6: can make design runs with each of them. And we've
- 31:31Speaker 6: all seen all five of those quarterbacks win games with
- 31:35Speaker 6: their legs. So the model, the mode the modern quarterback
- 31:40Speaker 6: has changed, and I agree he doesn't necessarily Again, he
- 31:46Speaker 6: doesn't necessarily fit that model. Again again, these are guys
- 31:51Speaker 6: that are six three, six' four four five four four
- 31:55Speaker 6: four three four to two?
- 31:56Speaker 2: Guys, right who can?
- 31:58Speaker 5: Throw who can?
- 31:59Speaker 2: Run who can do all the? RIGHT i, don't and
- 32:02Speaker 2: he doesn't.
- 32:03Speaker 6: Fit he's a he's a throw back, quarterback six' one,
- 32:06Speaker 6: two ten. Not, Fast right So again, I'm Saying, hollis
- 32:12Speaker 6: lewis he was my second quarterback off. The Board if,
- 32:15Speaker 6: i'm drafting he doesn't get out the, second round, excuse
- 32:18Speaker 6: me the. First round he definitely doesn't even make it
- 32:20Speaker 6: to the second ROUND because i think he. Stills pliable he,
- 32:23Speaker 6: can Play but i'm thinking for a. Modern quarterback some teams, just,
- 32:27Speaker 6: say look we're looking for. An, athlete hence While mill
- 32:30Speaker 6: rose Out of alabama was drafted.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Ahead, of sanders how does? That happen all be up
- 32:36Speaker 2: that he's an.
- 32:36Speaker 6: Elite athlete and you made the statement again going Back To,
- 32:41Speaker 6: dak prescott you wouldn't have gave him the money you
- 32:44Speaker 6: would have gave.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Him up why he's not an. Elite athlete and.
- 32:47Speaker 6: We don't think in this mode of football where you
- 32:51Speaker 6: got de Defensive Lineman ed rudgers running four threes and four,
- 32:54Speaker 6: to two's that he can get away. From anybody and
- 32:58Speaker 6: my last point On ME.
- 32:59Speaker 5: Qui tv their faces. Are awesome my, last.
- 33:05Speaker 6: Point some guys helped themselves playing in the. Bowl games
- 33:10Speaker 6: other guys hurt themselves playing in the. Bowl Game And
- 33:13Speaker 6: shador sanders probably hurt himself playing in that bowl game
- 33:18Speaker 6: taking all those sacks and showing him he couldn't get
- 33:21Speaker 6: away from that level of defensive linement and. Edge rushers,
- 33:25Speaker 6: So Again hollis lewis ME, Playing gm he's coming off.
- 33:30Speaker 6: The BOARD but i could see why teams were just
- 33:34Speaker 6: like in addition to to all the off, Field stuff
- 33:37Speaker 6: i'm strictly talking on, The, Field okay.
- 33:43Speaker 5: I'm totally on Board with hollis about the. Physical attributes,
- 33:46Speaker 5: you know all of the you, know this this arm strength, is,
- 33:50Speaker 5: questionable right and just. The, mobility okay so we can
- 33:54Speaker 5: see that definitely with you. On THAT but i think
- 33:56Speaker 5: there were, three REASONS and i think that was one.
- 33:58Speaker 5: OF them i do think that was one of them.
- 33:59Speaker 5: FOR sure i think the pre draft process that he.
- 34:02Speaker 5: Went through, you know he kind, of decided like you Said,
- 34:06Speaker 5: to carl to, A degree i agree with what you're
- 34:08Speaker 5: saying that he did think he was bigger THAN the
- 34:12Speaker 5: nfl because he felt like he didn't have to participate
- 34:15Speaker 5: in the combat, combine activities, the field, you know the
- 34:18Speaker 5: field things that they. All do, You Know kim, Ward
- 34:21Speaker 5: Did travis, Hunter did so why did he feel like
- 34:24Speaker 5: he didn't have to? Do, That okay so that's, number
- 34:26Speaker 5: two and then of course number three is the one we.
- 34:28Speaker 5: All know and that's, of course, you know his. Father's influence,
- 34:32Speaker 5: you know he came out in interviews before the draft
- 34:34Speaker 5: even started saying, things, like well, you know there are
- 34:37Speaker 5: certain TEAMS that i want my son to. Go to
- 34:39Speaker 5: in CERTAIN teams i don't want him to. Go to,
- 34:41Speaker 5: you know that hurt him, WHETHER yeah i don't think
- 34:43Speaker 5: he meant to hurt, his son but inadvertently that hurt
- 34:46Speaker 5: him in, the draft and that calls. THE slot i
- 34:48Speaker 5: think those THREE things i.
- 34:50Speaker 2: CAN go i can go with. That process There.
- 34:58Speaker 4: When dion says and this is this Is not, Chador's,
- 35:03Speaker 4: issue no this is This is.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Dion's, Issue right.
- 35:08Speaker 4: Dion is sitting there coming off of maybe being THE
- 35:12Speaker 4: best dB potentially ever in the in THE in, Nfl history.
- 35:19Speaker 2: And there is this co there is this Confidence that.
- 35:22Speaker 4: Dad, had SURE but, I know i'm not even sure
- 35:27Speaker 4: really in some of the Things that chador.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Was Saying that.
- 35:30Speaker 4: DION said i don't even Know if deon said some
- 35:33Speaker 4: of the things that, He SAID but I think dion's
- 35:37Speaker 4: making the case about there's teams that he won't.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Play, for dude you can't.
- 35:42Speaker 6: Pick that but some, people, say Well arch manning did
- 35:46Speaker 6: that with, they might they might, and that and they,
- 35:48Speaker 6: be fair they'd, be fair but.
- 35:54Speaker 4: You're you're dion and and whatever the reasons are that
- 35:58Speaker 4: it was okay For a manning to, say it but
- 36:01Speaker 4: it wasn't Okay for sanders just saying that's a whole.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Nother, show okay.
- 36:05Speaker 6: It ain't, really well it's on, the field. It is
- 36:08Speaker 6: it becomes on, The, FIELD okay i think that's what we're. All,
- 36:11Speaker 6: skipping well and and and here's and here's.
- 36:13Speaker 2: The thing if you say it's on, the field he's
- 36:17Speaker 2: gonna get on.
- 36:18Speaker 4: The field that's a. Fifth round maybe, you know it's
- 36:22Speaker 4: one hundred quarterbacks in. That Room If, lord brown, look
- 36:26Speaker 4: It most. Brown, thing ever if he's going to be,
- 36:30Speaker 4: the guy well let me just. SAY that i don't
- 36:34Speaker 4: want to say he's gonna be, the guy but if
- 36:36Speaker 4: if he is, the guy he should come out of
- 36:40Speaker 4: that battle, with quarterbacks the, battle quarterbacks and and be
- 36:44Speaker 4: the and be the guy.
- 36:46Speaker 5: He'll, be okay if he's if he's what they purport him,
- 36:49Speaker 5: to be He'll.
- 36:49Speaker 4: Be he'll rise to the top. Of, That okay i'm
- 36:53Speaker 4: gonna go on. The, Record okay i'm gonna go on.
- 36:56Speaker 4: The record i'm gonna think this is going to be
- 37:00Speaker 4: twenty five thousand times harder for him.
- 37:04Speaker 5: To do.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Not saying he can't, do it but because this is all,
- 37:10Speaker 4: the talk this is gonna be all.
- 37:12Speaker 2: The talk all the talk is gonna be.
- 37:14Speaker 4: On, him now he may, like that and that he
- 37:16Speaker 4: might he might use that, as, motivation, Motivation motivation, but
- 37:22Speaker 4: dude when you're not the, first guy it, second guy
- 37:28Speaker 4: and you're going you're going into camp as as a
- 37:31Speaker 4: as a fifth, round pick seventh, round pick and there's all.
- 37:35Speaker 6: These guys that the camps last on the you are
- 37:38Speaker 6: last on. The depth taruck just going in and does it?
- 37:42Speaker 2: Fuel? You absolutely? But it but there's gonna be guys
- 37:47Speaker 2: that have a better resume.
- 37:49Speaker 4: Than, you now the question Will be i'm, gonna say,
- 37:53Speaker 4: Of course i'm, gonna say, you know there may be
- 37:56Speaker 4: there may not be a quarterback that's gonna be on
- 37:59Speaker 4: his that he would have to, beat out that will
- 38:02Speaker 4: have a better resume.
- 38:04Speaker 6: Than, Him Nah, Joe Flacco. KENNY picking, i mean the
- 38:08Speaker 6: guys who played IN.
- 38:09Speaker 5: The nfl they've been around.
- 38:10Speaker 2: A minute but my my.
- 38:11Speaker 6: Other, theory though was just that MAYBE the nfl just
- 38:15Speaker 6: did this to make us watch, the draft.
- 38:17Speaker 8: You know because we would you wouldn't even watch the,
- 38:20Speaker 8: because again they, traded out they could have got both of,
- 38:24Speaker 8: these guys and like they could have wrapped this up
- 38:27Speaker 8: in the first and second round guy who they wanted
- 38:29Speaker 8: and got really the, same, Result right so maybe they
- 38:33Speaker 8: was just, that's why, you know they just pushed him back, and,
- 38:36Speaker 8: said well we got to, get SOMEBODY because, i MEAN The,
- 38:38Speaker 8: nfl draft it was more.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Viewers than that Didn't, Exactly lakers. Minnesota game more wanted.
- 38:45Speaker 5: To see where. He, landed seriously did you? HAVE something
- 38:48Speaker 5: i was Just gonna i'm cracking up at what he's
- 38:51Speaker 5: saying about the. Raggedy draft but the other part of.
- 38:53Speaker 5: IT is I mean i saw people on social media
- 38:55Speaker 5: like that that never even followed football that were, watching
- 38:58Speaker 5: this watch around round to see where where.
- 39:02Speaker 4: HE landed i think they said that it was it
- 39:04Speaker 4: was there were more, people watching continue watching, second THIRD.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Or i watched.
- 39:12Speaker 6: Every round i've never. Done that I'VE been i watched
- 39:15Speaker 6: EVERY sing I was espn just. Watching everything and by
- 39:18Speaker 6: the time he, GOT drafted i, was, Like man i'm
- 39:20Speaker 6: just gonna ride.
- 39:20Speaker 2: It out watched it go to the end and and
- 39:25Speaker 2: here's the and here's the. Other thing.
- 39:29Speaker 4: Has anybody really seen Like like shador has never really
- 39:33Speaker 4: looked like he. Was upset dion really has never looked
- 39:38Speaker 4: like he.
- 39:38Speaker 5: Was upset maybe it maybe.
- 39:45Speaker 2: HERE'S what, i think but but HERE'S what.
- 39:46Speaker 4: I think to the degree IN which I think dion
- 39:50Speaker 4: would have gone for his son to go from one to,
- 39:54Speaker 4: fifth round where the issue is going to show up
- 39:58Speaker 4: is in.
- 39:58Speaker 2: The money, well, no, no wait, wait, no no they
- 40:02Speaker 2: don't need. No money you know that's NOT but, i
- 40:06Speaker 2: mean we all need. Some money it's not about it's.
- 40:09Speaker 5: Not about it's not.
- 40:11Speaker 4: About need it's about being the GUY me nfl IN
- 40:18Speaker 4: the nfl, dollars mad but necessarily, to anything but how
- 40:24Speaker 4: you gonna get more money? Than ME because i came
- 40:26Speaker 4: in before You and i'm playing that's that's that's how.
- 40:29Speaker 6: To lead he ain't gonna, get no but it's all
- 40:31Speaker 6: Set ain't so let me ask, You, that okay talking about,
- 40:35Speaker 6: conspiracy theories do you, think, possibly Possibly maybe dion Orchestrated
- 40:43Speaker 6: this Just what i'm saying is, this though because like,
- 40:47Speaker 6: you know he's been playing with his dad pretty much
- 40:48Speaker 6: his whole, collegiate career pretty his, whole, life right so
- 40:51Speaker 6: this will be the first time from out under. Dad's
- 40:54Speaker 6: Wing and dad, was, like well we got to do
- 40:56Speaker 6: something to give him a little like to to make.
- 40:59Speaker 2: HIM face i can. SEE that i could see that
- 41:03Speaker 2: about it. A point that's a.
- 41:04Speaker 5: Good point and and You, know dion and there's so
- 41:08Speaker 5: many fake things. OUT there i fell for a couple
- 41:10Speaker 5: of things that were sytire or just just playing just flat.
- 41:14Speaker 5: Out lies but he did go on the interview Right.
- 41:17Speaker 5: With shador dion Did to cleveland after he Was. Drafted,
- 41:21Speaker 5: cleveland yeah and there were things, out there, you know
- 41:23Speaker 5: floating about in social media saying things like well he
- 41:26Speaker 5: went up there to, tell them, you know his son
- 41:28Speaker 5: wasn't going to play second to. Any, quarterback now that
- 41:31Speaker 5: wasn't how it. Went down he actually went up there
- 41:33Speaker 5: and just said thank you for drafting. My SON so
- 41:35Speaker 5: i mean, to me he's already kind of like accepted
- 41:38Speaker 5: that my son's got to go. Up here he's got
- 41:41Speaker 5: to show them that he deserves to be here and
- 41:43Speaker 5: show him what he's made of and and, you know
- 41:46Speaker 5: find a way. TO start, I mean i think he's
- 41:48Speaker 5: kind of accepted the fact and. HE knows i think
- 41:50Speaker 5: he's seen the error of. His, Ways, yes dion.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Poor. HIS brother i don't know if you. Go, NOWHERE yeah.
- 42:00Speaker 5: I know he kind of dropped his dad as, an agent.
- 42:03Speaker 5: Didn't he said he, Was terrible like he Said that.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Di is dion is.
- 42:11Speaker 4: Like he he he doesn't Have any this, is good.
- 42:16Speaker 4: HE doesn't i don't want to use. THIS word i
- 42:18Speaker 4: was gonna, use respect but that's not right because he
- 42:20Speaker 4: because he is. Definitely Respectful, respect yeah he's he's one.
- 42:23Speaker 4: Hundred respectful but what he he buys into everything that he.
- 42:28Speaker 4: Believes though when he when he believes in when he believes,
- 42:32Speaker 4: in something he is locked into it and you can't
- 42:35Speaker 4: bring him out.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Of it, you know you you think he's not gonna
- 42:38Speaker 2: go shut.
- 42:38Speaker 4: Somebody down when he says he's gonna shut, somebody, down
- 42:40Speaker 4: right he's probably likely gonna shut that dude. Down right in,
- 42:44Speaker 4: THIS situation i feel like he one buys into should
- 42:53Speaker 4: do it like like like like he thinks he's that that's. His,
- 42:56Speaker 4: son yeah, He He but i'm saying he's looking at him.
- 43:01Speaker 4: Beyond son he's looking at him as, football player, as
- 43:06Speaker 4: quarterback and seeing him as like. He is he is
- 43:10Speaker 4: the next. Great thing you talked about, the metrics size
- 43:17Speaker 4: and all those kinds.
- 43:18Speaker 2: Of THINGS what i like about HIM is I like
- 43:23Speaker 2: i LIKE his i like his HIS his.
- 43:26Speaker 4: I don't i CAN'T say i know his, work ethic
- 43:29Speaker 4: but the work ETHIC that i believe that he has
- 43:31Speaker 4: in him and the confidence in which HE has i
- 43:35Speaker 4: think his confidence to.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Speak it you can't speak like. Your dad.
- 43:42Speaker 4: You can't, you know you can't say some of these
- 43:44Speaker 4: things that you're saying because you're disrespecting what the. League
- 43:48Speaker 4: is and you probably should just, get in get in
- 43:54Speaker 4: and then let your game speak for itself because.
- 44:01Speaker 2: We've already. Had dyon you're, not him.
- 44:05Speaker 6: YE see i think that's kind of, you know maybe a.
- 44:09Speaker 6: Different conversation but that's kind OF what i, thought too
- 44:13Speaker 6: is that maybe, you know to, Your point dion sort
- 44:16Speaker 6: of jumping the gun in some of the things that
- 44:18Speaker 6: he's saying because he's saying it is though. It's him but,
- 44:21Speaker 6: You Know, deon sanders in, my book is the greatest.
- 44:24Speaker 6: Athlete ever he's the greatest athlete ever to, you know
- 44:28Speaker 6: put on. Any uniform but so you can't necessarily have
- 44:32Speaker 6: that same pravado for your son because your son ain't
- 44:36Speaker 6: you you Know what. I'm, saying SO like, i SAID like,
- 44:39Speaker 6: I said i would have picked him in the. First
- 44:43Speaker 6: ROUND but i understand why, teams WOULDN'T like i, get
- 44:46Speaker 6: IT like i, Get IT and i think too many
- 44:49Speaker 6: times when we have, this conversations we'll go, to race
- 44:52Speaker 6: we'll go to, the dad we'll go, to bravado we'll
- 44:54Speaker 6: go to, this well just on, THE field i can
- 44:57Speaker 6: understand why, they wouldn't you Know what. I'm saying so
- 45:00Speaker 6: now he's in a POSITION which, i THINK like, I
- 45:02Speaker 6: said i think again he can rise to. The top
- 45:05Speaker 6: Now whether cleveland is the spots you really want to, be.
- 45:09Speaker 2: At now that that's.
- 45:10Speaker 6: Another thing that's, another thing because that seems like a very,
- 45:13Speaker 6: dysfunctional franchise even judging from kind of the moves that
- 45:17Speaker 6: they made. This year hopefully they got a long game
- 45:19Speaker 6: that they are, planning to, you know right this SHIP because,
- 45:23Speaker 6: i MEAN like, i said when you got a core
- 45:24Speaker 6: you literally have with five quarterbacks and a quarterback, make,
- 45:30Speaker 6: sense sanity and you probably have the worst Contract with
- 45:33Speaker 6: watson ever in the history. Of sports so it's like
- 45:37Speaker 6: it's just one thing.
- 45:38Speaker 5: After another a graveyard, up there don't they like play
- 45:41Speaker 5: somebody's decorated their yard with all the quarterbacks And.
- 45:43Speaker 6: The browns and even another point to that is like
- 45:47Speaker 6: when You've, got gabriel he was your first round. Draft
- 45:50Speaker 6: pick so to the point when you're talking about, in
- 45:53Speaker 6: practice you got to give him. The reps you Know what,
- 45:56Speaker 6: i'm saying you at least got to. Start, now again
- 45:58Speaker 6: not to say he'll hold, his position but when you're
- 46:00Speaker 6: coming into the mini camp and where you're going into
- 46:03Speaker 6: the official camp start to the twenty twenty, five season
- 46:07Speaker 6: he gotta get those, third team second team reps because he's, the,
- 46:11Speaker 6: Investment right so you're really starting from behind the. Eight
- 46:14Speaker 6: ball you really gotta have you got to really be
- 46:16Speaker 6: locked in because being. A quarterback and if you're not
- 46:21Speaker 6: in the first and, second team if you're in the third, or,
- 46:24Speaker 6: fourteen bro you just ain't. Getting reps and it's hard
- 46:27Speaker 6: to sit back there when you just ain't getting. An
- 46:29Speaker 6: OPPORTUNITY and, i THINK and i think the reality of
- 46:36Speaker 6: the five qbs like and, the yes which.
- 46:41Speaker 4: Is crazy the order is really going to dictate a
- 46:46Speaker 4: whole lot of things right out of.
- 46:48Speaker 2: The, shoot yeah, you know and then the first.
- 46:53Speaker 4: Preseason, game okay so now there's going to be a
- 46:58Speaker 4: couple quarterbacks not. Gonna, play, yeah watchson he already, not
- 47:01Speaker 4: playing so he's going from five. To, four yeah so,
- 47:04Speaker 4: so four you're not gonna play four quarterbacks in the
- 47:08Speaker 4: game in. A, Precision, no no you're gonna probably play
- 47:13Speaker 4: two and maybe unless you're gonna, do quarters which you
- 47:18Speaker 4: ain't got enough time in. The quarters you might get,
- 47:20Speaker 4: what one you might get, one series maybe. One, series
- 47:23Speaker 4: yeah that might be. The max that. Ain't enough so now.
- 47:27Speaker 4: You're talking so now you're talking about. A half so
- 47:30Speaker 4: you got a quarterback four. A half what does he?
- 47:33Speaker 6: Look LIKE although, I mean i would say in, this
- 47:35Speaker 6: situation depending on how they, do it because you don't
- 47:38Speaker 6: necessarily need To see joe flaccoh, you know we.
- 47:42Speaker 2: So you really need. To see who you really need
- 47:45Speaker 2: to See Is.
- 47:46Speaker 6: Kenny pickett that's who you really need to see if
- 47:48Speaker 6: that guy can be my backup well?
- 47:50Speaker 4: Or not he gotta go the other piece to what,
- 47:54Speaker 4: you're saying you get a quarterback at the. Fifth round
- 47:59Speaker 4: he ain't your GUY like, i mean he's not your
- 48:01Speaker 4: starter like he's he's a he's he's.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Not a projected he's not your.
- 48:05Speaker 4: Projective starter he's the guy that, you know, you know
- 48:08Speaker 4: he might make, the team, you know and.
- 48:11Speaker 2: He could be, you know, you, know.
- 48:14Speaker 4: EXPENDABLE expendable i don't think they gonn do that with, Him,
- 48:17Speaker 4: NOW no i don't think that's what's. Gonna happen but if,
- 48:20Speaker 4: you're four where are? You now because you you know
- 48:24Speaker 4: you're at, The bottom sure doors, behind you you already
- 48:28Speaker 4: know that ain't there's a there's a there's something magical.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Sitting.
- 48:32Speaker 4: There ye so now you're four and you got three
- 48:37Speaker 4: more guys ahead.
- 48:38Speaker 2: Of you who?
- 48:39Speaker 4: Are you how many times you're gonna have to how
- 48:42Speaker 4: many times You're, gonna yeah that's a.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Huge task you gotta get on the field and you
- 48:46Speaker 2: got to.
- 48:46Speaker 6: Show it out into limited reps with, limited reps so
- 48:49Speaker 6: whatever you, do get you gotta be ready. To go so, it's,
- 48:52Speaker 6: like again you cannot, be IN which i think he,
- 48:55Speaker 6: this is he'll probably. BE okay i don't think he's
- 48:58Speaker 6: going to live in. HIS head i think and he'll, just,
- 49:00Speaker 6: say hey whenever it's, My turn i'm gonna show out and.
- 49:02Speaker 6: Show UP so i think that's what you have. To
- 49:05Speaker 6: do because the moment you start to, doubt yourself the
- 49:07Speaker 6: moment you start to get in, your head.
- 49:08Speaker 2: You're, Done see. I'm scared i'm scared of.
- 49:11Speaker 4: The opposite i'm scared of the conversation of talking about
- 49:15Speaker 4: getting in LIKE like i need to. Be in let's
- 49:18Speaker 4: let's say you go the first preseason game and you don't,
- 49:21Speaker 4: play okay and You know. God's play they play, pretty
- 49:25Speaker 4: good one might not play. Really well is there conversation
- 49:28Speaker 4: because where's the? Media going they're coming?
- 49:30Speaker 2: To YOU but i don't think.
- 49:32Speaker 6: YOU can i mean hopefully he'll HAVE A PR pr
- 49:36Speaker 6: rep and you can't do that from, That, spot like
- 49:39Speaker 6: from from that spot this has worked your way, up
- 49:41Speaker 6: spot so you can't.
- 49:42Speaker 4: Do, that okay, but okay TO, your pr TO your,
- 49:46Speaker 4: pr guy or lady. Or, lady yeah here's the problem, With.
- 49:50Speaker 4: That lisen in, My mind dion is out. There now he.
- 49:56Speaker 4: May be he may because he's been. Pretty quiet in.
- 50:00Speaker 4: MY mind i think he's been pretty quiet at.
- 50:02Speaker 2: THIS point i just.
- 50:06Speaker 4: Don't know confidence is a, good thing and it's and,
- 50:10Speaker 4: it's beneficial but you can't you can't throw it out
- 50:14Speaker 4: there against TEAMMATES.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Like i should be in front. Of us that's a
- 50:18Speaker 2: fact that, you KNOW and i think that's a.
- 50:20Speaker 5: Tough thing but even to, the, sorry no you, go
- 50:23Speaker 5: ahead you.
- 50:23Speaker 6: Know what, I'm saying even To the, Dion, Point, DEAN
- 50:25Speaker 6: honest i got a, whole program. He coaches he ain't
- 50:28Speaker 6: gonna have time to be around. Like that, Good point,
- 50:30Speaker 6: LIKE like i really don't understand how he would even
- 50:33Speaker 6: be that intimately involved, in this maybe making a, phone,
- 50:36Speaker 6: call watching but you know how it is during the.
- 50:38Speaker 6: Colle season he gotta watch it as a private PLAY private.
- 50:42Speaker 6: I Know but i'm, just saying how how? How involved.
- 50:46Speaker 5: That's, true yeah that's a. GOOD point i want to
- 50:48Speaker 5: go off the Topic of shador just for. A second
- 50:51Speaker 5: this is just something that popped into, My head SO
- 50:53Speaker 5: that's i was gonna run it by. You guys but,
- 50:56Speaker 5: you know this was the first year of the Collegiate
- 50:58Speaker 5: national playoff when we had, you know sixteen teams rather
- 51:01Speaker 5: than just the. Last, Four right i'm just curious to
- 51:05Speaker 5: Think if colorado would have been a part of the
- 51:08Speaker 5: conversation of making that playoff and maybe making a, you
- 51:12Speaker 5: know maybe winning a game or two in, their run
- 51:15Speaker 5: would it have been Different for, SHADOR rather, i mean
- 51:19Speaker 5: if they would have been able TO prove I just
- 51:21Speaker 5: i'm curious to think how many of these players they've
- 51:23Speaker 5: drafted were a part of the. PLAYOFF scenario, i mean.
- 51:26Speaker 2: That's actually a. GOOD question i don't know if it
- 51:28Speaker 2: would have made a.
- 51:29Speaker 6: HUGE difference i think to the point it was Probably
- 51:32Speaker 6: again i'm not playing, you know, conspiracy theory but it
- 51:35Speaker 6: could have been some collusion in addition to his measurables
- 51:40Speaker 6: and different things like that on. The FIELD so i,
- 51:43Speaker 6: DON'T know i don't think it would have played that
- 51:45Speaker 6: much DIFFERENT lesson i mean that a, national.
- 51:47Speaker 5: Champ well THAT'S what, i, mean like, you know looking, at, him,
- 51:49Speaker 5: like okay did he have the leadership skills to be
- 51:52Speaker 5: able to take his team to the playoffs and, you
- 51:55Speaker 5: know seeing and be able to do the things that
- 51:58Speaker 5: he needed to do to win and help his team.
- 52:00Speaker 5: Be successful he didn't do. Those things ended up in a,
- 52:02Speaker 5: bowl game right that he ended up they, they, lost right.
- 52:05Speaker 2: He lost.
- 52:07Speaker 5: So that could have his stock?
- 52:10Speaker 6: Did?
- 52:10Speaker 4: Hurt, hi yeah and and and and that's a very
- 52:13Speaker 4: very that's a very very valid point of just seeing
- 52:17Speaker 4: him in in the in the, bowl GAME and i, you,
- 52:20Speaker 4: know yeah but long, after that there was all this
- 52:26Speaker 4: conversation about. How, great NOW what i will say is
- 52:31Speaker 4: the people who were making those conversations they.
- 52:34Speaker 2: Weren't ownership.
- 52:37Speaker 4: It, wasn't ownership, you know so from your side, of
- 52:41Speaker 4: it hollers like ownership never really.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Said that they never. Spoke out they never, do though, you,
- 52:48Speaker 2: know no they. Never do but.
- 52:51Speaker 4: The conversation of where he was going, TO go i
- 52:55Speaker 4: think came from the same places that.
- 52:59Speaker 2: They all.
- 53:01Speaker 4: And the problem with that is, Is, like okay what?
- 53:06Speaker 4: What happened there had to, Have somewhere there had to
- 53:09Speaker 4: have been, some conversation.
- 53:11Speaker 5: They said the interviews WERE really, i heard he just
- 53:14Speaker 5: did not.
- 53:15Speaker 4: Do well and and and now imagine him sitting in
- 53:20Speaker 4: there and you having a conversation, with him because it's
- 53:23Speaker 4: gonna be, all me all that you talk about Is
- 53:27Speaker 4: going i'm gonna respond to you as all me.
- 53:31Speaker 2: Now, you, you, you, management.
- 53:33Speaker 3: You.
- 53:33Speaker 2: Ownership you you probably are not. Liking that That's what.
- 53:38Speaker 6: I'm saying if and if and, IF again i, don't
- 53:41Speaker 6: know but if the interviews went left in addition to
- 53:44Speaker 6: the tape that, you had in addition, To again i'm
- 53:47Speaker 6: NOT saying.
- 53:48Speaker 2: I know i don't think it was.
- 53:49Speaker 5: ONE thing i think that's a.
- 53:51Speaker 6: Combination in addition, to like, you know some of the
- 53:53Speaker 6: some of the things that far as what you're deeming
- 53:56Speaker 6: is what quarterbacks should be able to do at this
- 53:58Speaker 6: level now modern and then you at the measurables and
- 54:01Speaker 6: then you're looking at everything around and he kind of
- 54:03Speaker 6: maybe fall out of love, with it, like eh because
- 54:05Speaker 6: it's like if you're drafting a quarterback, that high you
- 54:08Speaker 6: gotta love me well and you know and and and
- 54:10Speaker 6: you got to be and you're listening and, watching everything
- 54:13Speaker 6: everything that plays and everything that everybody else is saying
- 54:16Speaker 6: too about you is calculated into and do you think.
- 54:21Speaker 5: He hollis you watched the first ROUND on TV like?
- 54:24Speaker 5: I did? Did you and he, Wasn't there like he
- 54:27Speaker 5: wasn't even even before anybody even knew that he was
- 54:30Speaker 5: going to take. This fall he wasn't present at the,
- 54:33Speaker 5: First round like did he? ALREADY know, i think do
- 54:35Speaker 5: you have to?
- 54:35Speaker 2: BE invited i know he had a.
- 54:37Speaker 5: Room ready, for him like he had his. Room deck
- 54:39Speaker 5: but you.
- 54:41Speaker 2: Can you can say you're not you can just would you?
- 54:44Speaker 5: Do that if you're thinking you're going to go in the, first.
- 54:46Speaker 2: Round why would you you may know you may.
- 54:48Speaker 5: Not, Go exactly. That's that that was the first thing
- 54:51Speaker 5: that crossed. My mind and, in fact we were all
- 54:53Speaker 5: texting in the GROUP and, i said that's why he's.
- 54:54Speaker 5: Not there, HE'D somehow i mean maybe caught wind of
- 54:58Speaker 5: it that well.
- 54:59Speaker 4: And, seeing THAT and i kind of led off, with
- 55:01Speaker 4: that and, you know And again hollis doesn't and rightfully
- 55:04Speaker 4: so doesn't want to get into the conspiracy theory.
- 55:07Speaker 2: If, He, knew.
- 55:10Speaker 5: Well, they talked don't they? JUST talk, i mean they kind.
- 55:12Speaker 5: Of nut but here's. The, thing players somebody would, have
- 55:15Speaker 5: told somebody could have told the.
- 55:16Speaker 4: Coach could have got to them and told, them, like
- 55:19Speaker 4: look this is probably what's going.
- 55:20Speaker 2: To happen just want to give you all the.
- 55:22Speaker 4: Heads up but once it, STARTED happening i mean it
- 55:27Speaker 4: IT went, i mean it just it just took.
- 55:30Speaker 6: Off, because normally like the first ten picks, are there like,
- 55:33Speaker 6: Those guys yeah.
- 55:34Speaker 5: You saw his. EMPTY boots i, was like wait, a
- 55:37Speaker 5: minute what's up? With that and then when they didn't call,
- 55:39Speaker 5: HIS name I was.
- 55:40Speaker 4: I wasn't shocked about not them not being there because
- 55:43Speaker 4: on the on the other side, of IT and i
- 55:44Speaker 4: think a lot of players that are going to be
- 55:47Speaker 4: in that early round typically like to be home with
- 55:51Speaker 4: your family. And friends and it's not like you're not
- 55:54Speaker 4: going to have a camera, in there you Know what.
- 55:56Speaker 2: I'm saying, you know so you rather. CELEBRATED there i.
- 55:59Speaker 5: Can't imagine dion missing that opportunity to, you know his
- 56:03Speaker 5: sunshine on, the STAGE and.
- 56:05Speaker 2: I DON'T and i, say this and we got to
- 56:08Speaker 2: close it. Out here BUT if I if.
- 56:12Speaker 4: I could get Inside of dion's mind AND if i,
- 56:14Speaker 4: was thinking LIKE if i were trying to think, LIKE
- 56:17Speaker 4: him i don't want to be there NECESSARILY because i
- 56:23Speaker 4: don't want to feel like people THINKING that.
- 56:25Speaker 2: I am i want my son to have, his moment
- 56:29Speaker 2: you Know what.
- 56:29Speaker 4: I'm saying and because everybody he knows, everybody's saying, You
- 56:33Speaker 4: know dion is basically running his life and all that
- 56:38Speaker 4: point even.
- 56:38Speaker 6: Shador itself he'll take all the air off. The room, so, yeah, Yeah.
