Transcript
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: So, Paul, this is a special episode here.
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: We have an announcement to make.
- 0:14SPEAKER_02: If anybody can hear that.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: I could play a drum roll.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, go ahead.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: But it'd be it'd be a little loud, I think.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: Um but uh so the the AI ready human is coming out.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: Let's uh let's talk about it.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: What is it?
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: And uh congratulations, but but what is it?
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Let's tell the let's tell the listeners.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's mini book.
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: Um and uh been gosh thinking about this book for uh forever.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: So actually started to to put pen to paper for uh for the last few months.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: And the book, you gave us the the title already, the AI Ready Human subtitle is your 90-day program to stay relevant as technology transforms work.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: And really the point of this is to try to collect together a lot of the stuff that we've talked about here on the podcast, a lot of the stuff that we've uh spoken more broadly about in humanity working, um, and put it into something that is really tangible and practical.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: Because fundamentally, as technology is uh transforming uh society more broadly and transforming the way we work, we need different kinds of skills to say relevant as this uh as this is happening.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: And AI is not just an acceleration layer here.
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: AI is transforming some elements of this fairly dramatically.
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: And so if you're a little bit worried about um whether you're going to be relevant going forward, if you're a little bit worried about potentially fewer jobs being available and you want one of those jobs, you probably need to be thinking about this kind of stuff.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: So but all of the highest value stuff that we've been working on and put it stuck it into uh into one book that I hope will really help people.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's uh fantastic, and I I can't wait for people to read it, but maybe talk about the uh the structure of the book and and how it's laid out, because I think that's a really unique aspect as well.
- 2:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: And boy, I gotta tell you, Matt, uh, from hopefully it's useful from the perspective of the of the reader, but from the perspective of the author, don't write a book this way.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: It's really hard.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: Um the way in which it's it's laid out, I'd recommend people get the physical copy.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: The ebook is is fine, but I'd recommend people get the physical copy.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: And the reason for this is because um I mentioned that there are 90 days.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: So in each case, from day one all the way through day 90, there is a single page that explains the concept and why you should care about the concept.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: And then facing that is a single page where you're performing a short exercise, typically a few minutes, in order to help you think about this more deeply and personalize it to you.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: Um and so it's really kind of like a combination of what you'll learn and what you'll actually do about uh what you will learn.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: Um the reason I said it's it's tough for an author is because normally when we write, we we we kind of write until we're done.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: So the discipline to try to like fit on a single page uh what the concept is and why you should why you should care about it is something that's really, really hard to do.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: This I would say this probably took me about twice as much time to edit as it took to write because of that, uh, you know, for that exact reason.
- 3:52SPEAKER_02: But we're done now and it's uh and uh and it's out and available for people.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: Excellent.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: So how can people get it?
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: And are there any special offers, things people want to know about?
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so we're doing a uh pre-release.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: This is actually this announcement here is the is actually the first announcement that we're doing.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: Um and uh and so for people that are listening to the podcast um or are on humanityworking.net, if you go to humanityworking.net, um you will you'll see an article there and you'll have an opportunity to pre-order um a special hardback version uh of the uh of the book um as a signed uh copy.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: So feel free to to go there and and uh and grab that and uh hopefully it will be a useful guide for you as you're trying to figure out how to be relevant as as uh the future of work is with us.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: And then it'll be available on Amazon and other platforms after that?
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:53SPEAKER_02: So about a week or so.
- 4:55SPEAKER_02: If people aren't interested in any of that, they just want to go to Amazon and grab it, uh, then about a week later it will be available on Amazon.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: And we'll to mark that uh we will be releasing a uh much deeper version of the podcast where we'll go into all a lot of the themes uh that are uh that are in the book.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Well, congratulations, Paul.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: Go ahead and get your copy, uh pre-release copy of the AI Ready Human Now.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: And uh enjoy.
