- 2:30And so it was it was really fun.
- 2:32And so I appreciate that.
- 2:33Thank you so much.
- 2:34You know, your new book, The Gates of Hell is another incredibly referenced and researched work.
- 2:40And it has starts with some jaw-dropping premises, sort of like your other book, the book that you did, a deep dive Bible study series for us, um, that people can find it in that one was on what what you've done, Ben, what was that?
- 2:53That's the second coming of Saturn.
- 2:55That's right, the second coming of Saturn.
- 2:57And if people are interested in that, if you listen to this and you want to hear more of Derek's work, you can go to DR10penny.com, hover on the education tab.
- 3:05When you you'll sort of scroll down to it, and you'll find a place that says Bible series.
- 3:09When you hover over that, you'll see a whole window that will open up a Bible study series that we've done before.
- 3:15And Derek did a four-part series on that book on the second coming of Saturn that was over the moon.
- 3:22So you can get more there, and it's all for free.
- 3:24All you have to do is go to DR10penny.com, education tab, Bible series, and that's where you'll find Derek's work.
- 3:31So in this book, the gates of hell, what inspired you to write this book, The Gates of Hell.
- 3:36Well, the title comes from a uh an episode that's recorded in chapter 16 of the Gospel of Matthew, where Jesus takes his disciples to uh Caesarea Philippi, which was a town located at the base of a mountain, the very northern edge of Israel called Mount Hermon.
- 3:55And uh Mount Hermon is interesting.
- 3:57I think the best way for people to think about it is uh uh to think of it as the Canaanite version of Mount Olympus.
- 4:05It's where the Canaanites, the Amorites who lived in the land believed their gods congregated, just like the Greeks thought their gods met on uh Mount Olympus.
- 4:15And Jesus took his disciples there, and not being aware of um geography, I think most of us look at this uh episode, which begins in verse 13 of Matthew 16.
- 4:27Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi.
- 4:30Okay, it's you know, the the 21st century mindset.
- 4:34It's like, okay, they hopped in the minivan and they all drove, and it took half an hour to get there.
- 4:38But bear in mind, Jesus' base of ministry was a city called Capernaum, which is on the north shore of the Sea of Galilee.
- 4:45Now you look at a map of Israel, and you realize that's about a 30-mile distance between those two points, Caesarea Philippi to uh or Capernaum to Caesarea Philippi.
- 4:56In the first century, you've got to walk it, and you're walking in sandals across rough terrain.
- 5:03This is uh very hilly and mountainous region, and they either walked in the hills alongside the valley through which the Jordan River flows between Mount Hermon and the Sea of Galilee, or they walked through what at the time was a marsh.
- 5:19So either way, you know, 30-mile hike that would take roughly 14 hours.
- 5:25It's probably a two-day trek.
- 5:27This is something you've got to be very intentional to do.
- 5:31So, why did he do this just to ask two questions?
- 5:35Who do people say the son of man is, and who do you say I am?
- 5:41And of course, that's where Peter answers, you are the Christ, the son of the living God, and Jesus replies, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, for flesh and blood is not revealed this to you.
- 5:50In other words, this wasn't something you heard from some guy or saw in a YouTube video.
- 5:55But my father who is in heaven, this is divine confirmation.
- 5:59Yes, I am the Messiah.
- 6:02And he did it specifically at this point.
- 6:04And then he goes on to with some wordplay.
- 6:06And I tell you, you are Peter, you are Petros in the Greek, but um, and on this rock, this Petra.
- 6:15He's standing in front of a 9,200-foot mountain, the Canaanite Olympus.
- 6:20On this rock, I will build my church and the gates of hell, which is this really big cave over here called the Grotto of Pan, which at the time was the source of the River Jordan, and which was believed in the first century to be bottomless.
- 6:34The Jewish historian Josephus wrote that no one had ever lowered a plumb line long enough to hit the bottom of that cave.
- 6:42So that was believed to be the literal entrance to the netherworld.
- 6:47And Jesus took his disciples on a 14-hour hike to go there specifically to ask those two questions and to answer them.
- 6:56Yes, I am the Messiah.
- 6:58And then, of course, according to Matthew, six days later, he climbed a very high mountain, which could only have been Mount Hermon.
- 7:04Uh and again, he's climbing this mountain that is believed to be the congregating point for the gods of the Canaanites, El, their father god, Asherah, his consort, their seventy sons, which included Baal, the king of the pantheon.
- 7:19Jesus climbed that mountain for the transfiguration.
- 7:23Now, if these entities, these fallen entities, fallen angels were imaginary.
- 7:29Jesus could have said all this in Capernaum and saved his guys about 30 hours of walking up there and then back, going to a pagan cult center.
- 7:39Specifically to make this theological point.
- 7:43But he didn't do that.
- 7:44He didn't say, okay, the gods of the Canaanites are fake, they're imaginary, they don't really exist.
- 7:50You can just forget all that.
- 7:51This cave over here really isn't the entrance to the netherworld.
- 7:54All of this is fake.
- 7:55He didn't do that.
- 7:57He he walked his people on what again must have been a fairly strenuous journey.
- 8:03I mean, you know, the first century, I imagine they were more fit than typical Americans today.
- 8:08But still, that's a long walk just to make a point.
- 8:13And he did it there.
- 8:14Instead of going to Jerusalem and doing it there, why did he do it there at that specific point, the gates of hell?
- 8:21And the point of the book is that there are points of contact between this realm and the unseen realm.
- 8:29Some of them may be physical locations, like the gates of hell, where Jesus made his declaration that yes, he was the son of man, is the son of man.
- 8:40But the as the book continues, we go through other topics that seem completely unrelated until you tie it together with this.
- 8:49The gates of hell, the point of contact between this realm and the next is wherever we humans are, if we invite those fallen spirits in.
- 8:57And that can be through rituals, it can be through pharmaceuticals.
- 9:03Um, and uh, you know, even through artificial intelligence, we think may be an opportunity for the fallen realm to break through and make contact with us, as we've been seeing stories recently of artificial intelligence convincing people that either they are hearing directly from angels in contact with God, or that the AI is God, or that the human is God, or that these uh artificial intelligence chatbots are encouraging people to end their lives so that they can join the AI persona in uh in some unseen realm.
- 9:43So basically, our point is that yes, contact with the other realm is real, and uh it can be wherever we are.
- 9:49The gates of hell are essentially within us.
- 9:53So are these are the gates a literal place where are they portals where the spirit realm comes in and out and that.
- 10:00We may unknowingly access or stumble into those gates.
- 10:05Well, there certainly are points on earth where the veil between the realms seems to be the thinnest.
- 10:12And again, Jesus walked his disciples to us one of those places, the gates of hell, Caesarea Philippi, the Grotto of Pan.
- 10:20Today it's called Banias in northern Israel.
- 10:22It's a very beautiful place.
- 10:23It's uh, you know, running water and a lot of greenery around it.
- 10:26It's a place that uh a lot of visitors will go on their tours of Israel.
- 10:30And uh we took our folks there specifically to show them hey, this is where Jesus made this declaration.
- 10:36And when he said the gates of hell, he was pointing to this big cave right here.
- 10:40And everybody there would have known what he was talking about.
- 10:44And yet he said, This will not prevail against my ecclesia, my congregation.
- 10:50So you are greater than what's coming out of this.
- 10:53And there are other places around the world that have been used as that type of portal.
- 10:58It was believed in the ancient world that um mountains were the uh gathering point for uh were the place where the gods would gather, Olympus, Mount Hermon, um Mount uh Safan in uh what is now southern Turkey was believed to be the location of the Palace of Baal, but even the Greeks had legends or myths connecting Zeus to that particular location.
- 11:21But even um threshing floors in uh in biblical times, the place like on a hill where you'd uh flatten out a spot and you'd throw the grain up in the air and the wind would blow the chaff away.
- 11:33Threshing floors were believed to be points of contact between this realm and the next.
- 11:38That's why when um David sinned and commissioned a census, basically not trusting in God to defend his people, he wanted to know how many swords he could put on the battlefield, how many soldiers he had under his command.
- 11:52And God said, Okay, you're gonna have to be punished for this.
- 11:56And uh God sent a destroying angel that was smiting the people of Israel, and uh David went to make a sacrifice and he purchased the threshing floor of Arana, which is the site of uh the temple, or was the site of the temple today, it's the Dome of the Rock on uh the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
- 12:17But uh again, in the first century or in um David's time, the 10th century BC, that threshing floor would have been considered a point of contact between this realm and the next.
- 12:28And of course, when you read the account in uh 2 Samuel, I believe, uh David and Arana, the probably Hurrian or Jebesite ruler of Jerusalem, looked up and they saw the angel of the Lord up there.
- 12:41Um, it certainly was a point of contact.
- 12:44Um yeah, there were there are places where it does seem there's more supernatural activity than uh other places.
- 12:55Um again, Jesus could have Jesus could have debunked all of this when he walked his disciples up to Caesarea Philippi and said, okay, people believe this is the entrance to the nether world, forget that that doesn't exist.
- 13:06But he didn't do that.
- 13:07He said, Here are the gates of hell, but they will not prevail against my congregation, which is you.
- 13:15You know, Derek, in your book, uh this is it's just you know, so many of your books, they just have these super cool covers.
- 13:24They draw you in covers and you know, the gates of hell unlocking the Ganymede code and the demonic portals of Mount Haran and the United States Capitol.
- 13:33Um, you start the book with a chapter explaining the origins of demons.
- 13:38Why did you start from there and tell our listeners uh about that and what led you to begin the book from there?
- 13:46It's uh a topic that's not often covered in our churches, and there's some confusion as to what demons are.
- 13:52I mean are they fallen angels?
- 13:55Are they just evil spirits?
- 13:57Are they spirits of bad people who died and just don't want to go away?
- 14:02In the first century, and in fact, for the first four centuries after the uh resurrection of Jesus, uh, and uh this would apply to second temple period Jews, uh, the second temple period being the time between the rebuilding of the temple under Nehemiah and Zerubabel and the destruction of that temple by the Romans in 70 AD.
- 14:25It was, you know, basic uh theology to understand where demons came from.
- 14:30Demons were believed to be the spirits of those giants, the Nephilim, who were destroyed in the flood of Noah.
- 14:37That's explicit in the book of 1 Enoch, which is not in the Bible.
- 14:42It's in the Ethiopic Bible, and there were some early church fathers who thought it should be scripture, but there are good reasons that it's not in the Bible.
- 14:50But the bottom line is it's explicit there that the spirits of those giants were demons.
- 14:54And when you read the Old Testament carefully, uh the word, the word Rephaim in Hebrew refers to the spirits of those uh deceased giants.
- 15:06It's been translated almost out of our English language Bibles, because that word is usually translated as the dead, the departed, the deceased, the shades.
- 15:15Um, but we're reading between the lines, you can see uh, especially when you compare our English Bibles to the Septuagint translation, which was translated from Hebrew into Greek around the third and second centuries BC, that uh there are places where you see, you know, the dead or the shades is translated the giants.
- 15:38So it was understood by Jews in that time period, the time of Jesus and the disciples and the early Christian church.
- 15:45Demons are the spirits of the giants who died in the flood of Noah, because they're hybrid.
- 15:51They are half divine, half angelic, half human.
- 15:55So they're denied their rightful place in the afterlife, the place allotted to humans in the afterlife, and the spirit realm allotted to the uh to the angels.
- 16:06So we wanted to begin with that, just as uh, you know, theology 101.
- 16:09Here's what the church believed 2,000 years ago.
- 16:12It was the around the time of uh Augustine in the early fifth century, that he said, no, no, no, no, no.
- 16:17The sons of God referenced in Genesis chapter six, verses one through four, those were the righteous sons of Seth, son of Adam and Eve, who intermarried with the evil daughters of Cain and produced wicked rulers.
- 16:31That's what this is referring to.
- 16:33But again, 2,000 years ago, that's not what the early church believed.
- 16:37Augustine changed it because he wanted to make it a little more palatable, I guess, to pagans who were looking at this and saying, yeah, these Christians are believing some weird stuff that uh angels mated with humans, and well, yeah, it is kind of weird, but that's exactly what Genesis 6 says, and it is what the early church believed.
- 16:57And again, when you read the Old Testament carefully and look at the Hebrew and compare it with the Septuagint, it's pretty clear that that was basic theology.
- 17:06Those spirits are still with us today.
- 17:09And that is why we wanted to make this point.
- 17:12I mean, those spirits have been summoned by people who think they're somehow going to command them and control them and think they're going to get the information from them.
- 17:22This has uh been part of pagan religion for many, many thousands of years.
- 17:27And we kind of documented some of that in the book, The Gates of Hell.
- 17:32You know, you spent a day last spring investigating those the site of the Golan Heights called the Gilga Raphaim or the Wheel of Giants.
- 17:40You sort of alluded it to it just a minute ago.
- 17:42Um, why did you go there and what did you learn?
- 17:45Yeah, that is uh really fascinating site.
- 17:48They call it uh Israel's Stonehenge, except that it's uh about 1,200 years older than Stonehenge, and it's got a whole lot more rock in it.
- 17:58Uh, it's estimated that there's as much as 60,000 tons of stone that were put into these uh huge concentric rings.
- 18:05And you can see it from Google Earth, which means it's visible from space.
- 18:09It's about 10 miles east of the Sea of Galilee on the Golan Heights, and uh hardly anyone goes there.
- 18:16We had to get into uh, I mean, we're talking uh like Land Rovers when we took our tour there just a couple of weeks ago, in fact, we went back.
- 18:24Uh, but we were able to spend a day with the archaeological archaeologist who's done the most recent excavations there, Dr.
- 18:29Mike Freakman.
- 18:31And he told us that uh this appears to be, because it's dated to about 3700 BC, which is about 700 years older than the oldest known writing from the Sumerians, that uh as best he can tell, this was used in rituals for the cult of the dead, and that those concentric rings around a central core were probably used for ritual circumambulation, meaning dancing in a circle around the central point, which is well, that's a ritual that continues today with the Muslims at the Ka'aba in Mecca, you know, circling around the black rock, the black stone.
- 19:10He told us something we did not know, and uh, so we were able to include it in the book, The Gates of Hell, that ritual circumambulation is often depicted in prehistoric art.
- 19:2380% of the art depicting humans from the prehistoric world shows them ritually dancing.
- 19:31And according to uh a book written by his mentor, Dr.
- 19:35Yassi Garfinkel, uh most of the art from the ancient Levant, which includes Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Western Syria, show people dancing in a counterclockwise fashion.
- 19:50You know, they're they're depicted in in left profile, which means they're dancing counterclockwise.
- 19:57Well, interestingly, on the summit of Mount Hermon.
- 20:00There is a wall that apparently was used for ritual purposes.
- 20:05People taking drink offerings up to the very summit of Mount Hermon, which is difficult to get to because it's uh Mountain has snow on it that doesn't melt away until September.
- 20:15So start snowing in November.
- 20:18You can't get up there until August or September again.
- 20:20But people would go up there and to get to the summit to pour out this drink offering on the summit.
- 20:26You have to approach it counterclockwise.
- 20:29So the question is: where did this idea of circumambulating a central point in counterclockwise fashion begin?
- 20:38I mean, Gilgal Rephaeim is within eyesight, is 25 miles south, but you can see it on a clear day of Mount Hermon.
- 20:46But on the summit of Mount Hermon, you've got this wall that forces the uh faithful who want to pour out their offering to approach with the summit always on the left.
- 20:56Just like the Muslims circumambulating the Ka'aba in Mecca today.
- 21:00Um in fact, the the gentleman who discovered a stone inside a temple on the summit of Mount Hermon, Sir Charles Warren in 1869 in his report for the Palestine Exploration Fund asked the question: is it possible that the Muslims got their practice of ritual circumambulation, what they call the Tawaf.
- 21:21Uh, did they get that from the summit of Mount Hermon?
- 21:26Does anybody really know where that whole ritual started from?
- 21:29Or is there just no nobody knows how it how it all came from?
- 21:34It's it's just a lot of circumstantial evidence.
- 21:36Um, one piece of evidence that I found.
- 21:39And you know, I'm not I don't read the original languages, so God bless the linguists, the epigraphers, the archaeologists who go out in the field and dig this stuff up.
- 21:48Sharon and I just try to read through these things and piece the evidence together.
- 21:51The oldest reference to ritual circumambulation comes from the uh ancient city of Ur in uh Sumer, and that was a city that was sacred to the moon god called Nana, or uh scene by the Amorites, where during a uh festival called the Akitu, which was an annual New Year's festival, they would go out to the fields and circumambulate.
- 22:15Well, this reference goes back to about uh 2500 BC, the Sumerian text where they found that.
- 22:22What's interesting is that when the uh when the Israelites crossed the Jordan River, the city that they were commanded to attack, Jericho was also sacred to the moon god, Jericho, named for the Amorite moon god Yarik.
- 22:36And how did they break down the walls?
- 22:38By circumambulating the city.
- 22:42And they did it, and they did it uh during the uh just after the the spring uh the spring feast, the Passover, which was at the time when uh the Aquitu Festival in Mesopotamia was normally performed.
- 22:57Now, again, this circumstantial evidence, but it's uh very coincidental, isn't it?
- 23:02And I tend not to be a coincidence theorist.
- 23:05So did when the Israelites walked around the city of Jericho and they made it off.
- 23:12They walk in a counterclockwise way around, do you suppose that they did?
- 23:16Is that I mean, there's no that I know of evidence of that, but if that seems to be the powerful way to march, do you think that that those two things work together?
- 23:26Well, I there is a pattern of God reversing rituals of the pagans to demonstrate his power over theirs.
- 23:37And um again, it's circumstantial evidence because the Akitu festivals in Mesopotamia involved processions bringing the the god, to put that in air quotes, in the form of the idol out of the city to a place called the Akitu house, and then uh tithes and offerings would be brought to the god.
- 23:58And then uh, and again, this is based on uh evidence that they found the archaeologists working in Iraq have found over the last hundred and fifty years.
- 24:05Usually on the seventh day, the god would be brought back into the city with a great procession and fanfare and celebrations.
- 24:13The god is returning to the city.
- 24:15Well, in the account in the book of Joshua, it tells us that the uh the Canaanites of Jericho were so terrified of the Israelites that no one went out and no one came in.
- 24:26Now, again, there's no evidence we know of that the uh Canaanites at Jericho celebrated the Yakitu Festival, but that's what they would have done if they had celebrated the festival.
- 24:36The Israelites circumambulated the city, and then on the seventh day, which in Mesopotamia was the day that the god would return to the city in triumph.
- 24:45That's when the walls fell down.
- 24:47And the true God, Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, entered the city in the form of the Israelites' uh army.
- 24:54So it does seem to be a reversal of what uh a pagan ritual that had been performed for more than a thousand years by the time of the fall of the walls of Jericho.
- 25:04Wow.
- 25:05This is so fascinating, Derek.
- 25:07Well, hold that thought right there.

- 30:41News is that place to awaken your heart, soul, and mind to the Alpha.
- 30:54Today we're talking to Derek Gilbert, and he we are discussing his most recent book, The Gates of Hell, unlocking the Ganymede Code in the demonic portals of Mount Herman and the United States Capitol.
- 31:06You know, you said in your book, and I found it just very interesting reading in that particular area, where you where you claim that the place where Jesus, because you mentioned the Jordan River a little bit ago, just in passing, that where Jesus was baptized is not where people think.
- 31:22Where did where did he get baptized?
- 31:25Why is it important?
- 31:26And how did Christians get it so wrong?
- 31:29Well, I think we've been misled by the uh description of Jesus' ministry being placed in the wilderness of Judea, and most of us assume that that would be the uh the rugged hill country south of Jerusalem, the wilderness of Judah, the area west of the Dead Sea.
- 31:46And so for 2,000 years, Christians have been looking for a site, these uh the baptismal site, and there are a couple of competing locations.
- 31:54There's a place where a lot of tourists go.
- 31:57In fact, our tour went to a place called Yardanit.
- 32:00Uh, we've been there several times now.
- 32:01It's just it's where the Jordan River exits the Sea of Galilee.
- 32:05And nobody really thinks that was the place where Jesus got baptized, but it is kind of cool getting baptized in the same river.
- 32:12There is a location that has been designated a um world heritage site by UNESCO, and this is called Al Magtas.
- 32:20It's a village in Jordan, about six miles north of the Dead Sea.
- 32:23It's across from Jericho.
- 32:25Now, because of its proximity to the wilderness of Judah, this is a very popular site.
- 32:31In fact, a friend of ours who's uh uh don't want to call him out and throw him under the bus, but he's a very well-respected archaeologist who's made some very stunning biblical discoveries in the last couple of years.
- 32:41But we disagree with him on this particular point.
- 32:44He's defended the site in Jordan and the kingdom of Jordan uh three years ago, announced they were going to invest 300 million dollars in developing this uh UNESCO World Heritage site for tourists.
- 32:56And God bless them because Jordan doesn't have a whole lot of natural resources, it's one of the most water poor nations on earth.
- 33:02Its main natural resource, frankly, is sand and limestone.
- 33:06So they can make, they can make concrete.
- 33:09And you know, they've got a few places where they can grow some crops, but uh Jordan needs all the tourism it can get.
- 33:14And I'll be honest, we've been there several times and found the Jordanian people to be very friendly and very proud of their biblical heritage, even though it is a Sunni Muslim nation.
- 33:25They welcome Christians and Christian tourists, and they treated us extremely well.
- 33:29So we're looking forward to going back there next fall.
- 33:32But the site that we believe is the actual baptismal site, and this is based on clues in chapter one of the Gospel of John, is north of the Sea of Galilee.
- 33:42And here's why.
- 33:44Uh in chapter one of John, we're reading the account of John the Baptist beginning at verse 19, where he's confronted by priests and Levites from Jerusalem who are asking him who he is and by what authority he's baptizing.
- 33:56And quite honestly, not to rabbit trail here, John was preaching something new that was uh not in any previous Jewish writing before the book of 1 Enoch and the section of 1st Enoch called the Book of Parables, which is chapters 37 to 71 of that particular book, which was completed just about the time John and Jesus were born.
- 34:18So 30 years later, John is out there preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, which would not have been acceptable to the religious leadership in Jerusalem.
- 34:29No, no, no, no.
- 34:30You have to come to the temple, offer your sacrifices, perform the feasts, the rituals, and so on.
- 34:34John was saying, no, no, if you repent, and again, this is something that was new, you find it in chapter 51 of the book of 1 Enoch, but I digress.
- 34:43Anyway, they confront him, and in verse 29 of John chapter 1.
- 34:49So John, the apostle writing this down, is putting timestamps on this.
- 34:54The next day, after being confronted by the priest and Levites, he sees Jesus coming towards him and says, Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
- 35:03And John bore witness, verse 32 I saw the spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him.
- 35:09Now we know from the other gospels, that's when Jesus gets baptized.
- 35:13The dove descends on him like that's the Holy Spirit, and a voice from heaven says, Behold my son, in whom I am well pleased.
- 35:21And then on verse 35, John the Apostle again writing, time stamping the next day again.
- 35:28So now we've got John confronted by priests and Levites.
- 35:32Next day he baptizes Jesus.
- 35:33Now the next day, John's standing with two of his disciples, and he looks at Jesus as he walks by and says, Behold the Lamb of God.
- 35:40The two disciples heard him say this, and they follow Jesus, and one of them who heard Jesus speak was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
- 35:48He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, We found the Messiah, and he brought him to Jesus.
- 35:54Now, uh, we know from well, I guess in verse 43 in John chapter 1, again, the next day, Jesus decided to go to Galilee.
- 36:05He found Philip and said to him, Follow me.
- 36:06Now Philip was from Beth Saida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
- 36:11That's the key here.
- 36:12Beth Saida is two miles north of the Sea of Galilee.
- 36:16We also know from the other gospels that Andrew and Peter were partners in a fishing business with John and James on the Sea of Galilee.
- 36:25So if Andrew is a disciple of John the Baptist, and John is baptizing 90 miles away at Jericho, it's not likely that the next day, Andrew and Philip and Peter from Beth Saida are suddenly following Jesus at Jericho.
- 36:44No, all of this happened north of the Sea of Galilee.
- 36:48And in fact, there was a scholar who is a friend of Sir Charles Warren, who I mentioned in the previous segment, named uh Claude Conder.
- 36:54He was a lieutenant in the British military, and uh Conder was also an archaeologist surveying Palestine for the British.
- 37:03Um, not just doing archaeology, they were also surveying it because the Ottoman Empire was crumbling, and the Brits and the Germans and the French wanted to see which pieces of the Ottoman territories they could take.
- 37:14But they did good archaeology while they were there.
- 37:17Conder wrote in a report for the Palestine Exploration Fund, 1874.
- 37:23We may have made a mistake by assuming that Bethany across the Jordan, which is where um in John 1, verse 28, John's baptism ministry is placed.
- 37:33These things took place in Bethany across the Jordan.
- 37:37That means east of the Jordan River.
- 37:40So 2,000 years, Christians have been trying to find Bethany east of the Jordan River.
- 37:46It doesn't exist.
- 37:46The only Bethany anywhere near Judea is the one on the Mount of Olives.
- 37:52And that's just across the Cadron Valley from the Temple Mount.
- 37:55It's not east of the Jordan.
- 37:57Conder wrote, maybe Bethany's not a city or a town.
- 38:01Maybe it's a region.
- 38:03And the Greek original says Bethanya, which is a Hellenized form or a Greek form of the Roman or Latin name, Botania, which is Bashan.
- 38:14Now, Bashan is the region north and east of the Sea of Galilee.
- 38:19In the Hebrew, Bashan literally means place of the serpent.
- 38:24This was believed going back to the time of Abraham and before to be the entrance to the nether world.
- 38:30So that connection to the nether world was just not there at the cave at the base of Mount Hermon at Caesarea Philippi.
- 38:36That whole region, the Upper Galilee and Bashan, which is east of the Jordan River, was believed to be where the Rephaim ruled.
- 38:45There was a Canaanite god named Rapayu, which is the singular form of Rephaim, who is called King of Eternity, whose holy cities were Edri and Ashtaroth, the same whole the same uh royal cities of uh Og of Bashan, who was the king of Bashan, who was the first military objective of Moses and the Israelites.
- 39:08So this region had a really bad reputation.
- 39:11It was essentially the entrance to Canaanite hell.
- 39:15And that's where John was baptizing.
- 39:17It was not Bethany across the Jordan, it was Bashan across the Jordan.
- 39:22And interestingly enough, just a half mile from Beth Saida, while we were in Israel back in 2023 with our good friend Doug Van Dorn.
- 39:30Uh, there is a site similar to Gilgal Refahim, this megalithic structure, concentric rings of stone around a central heap on the bank of the Jordan River, two miles north of the Sea of Galilee and less than half a mile from Beth Saida.
- 39:47And the Jordan River bank at that point slopes down from essentially it's a hillside, but it slopes down to the Jordan River about 75, 80 feet.
- 39:57It creates a natural theater where.
- 40:00Hundreds, maybe even thousands of people could sit comfortably and watch a preacher preaching, teaching, or baptizing there in the Jordan River down in the valley floor.
- 40:12We think that location below this megalithic structure going back to 3500 BC, 4000 BC, dedicated to the cult of the dead.
- 40:23We think that's where Jesus got baptized.
- 40:26And it was done as a declaration of war against these fallen spirits, the demonic spirits of the giants, the Rephaim, destroyed in the flood of Noah.
- 40:37Wow.
- 40:38I don't know how you remember all this stuff.
- 40:44And it's so detailed and so historic, been going on for a long time.
- 40:48You have an incredible way to explain it very, very well.
- 40:53It's amazing that you can remember all that.
- 40:55Well, thank you.
- 40:56I want to uh address something very important, which is in the title of your book about the demonic portals of Mount Hermon and the United States Capitol.
- 41:08That ended up in the title of your book, the Greek hell.
- 41:12This is really an extension of what was uh written in my previous book, the uh the second coming of Saturn.
- 41:18Um and it builds on work that was done by the late Dr.
- 41:21Tom Horn in his book uh Apolly on Rising 2012 and then Zenith 2016, where he showed that the um United States Capitol and the imagery on the National Mall, the obelisk and the dome on the Capitol, representing, say the generative member, if you will, of Osiris, um trying to be delicate here, and the womb of Isis and a free Masonic ritual that uh Tom believed would engender the spirit of Antichrist in a future world leader who would then lead the world uh and then lead the world to war against Israel.
- 42:03And I took that and um disagreed with Tom slightly.
- 42:08I think he was absolutely correct in pointing out the imagery there, but as we looked at the um the imagery inside the Capitol Dome, there's a painting inside what they call the Oculus called the Apotheosis of Washington, which shows George Washington manifesting as a god amongst the pagan deities of Rome in uh the heavens and taking his place uh there amongst the gods.
- 42:33The point at the second coming of Saturn is that the Roman god called Saturn called Cronos by the Greeks, uh, and we know from uh we we know from god lists, which were like uh, you know, scribal uh translation texts, sort of like the you know, clay tablet version of Google Translate, when they had to witness treaties between different uh you know, different countries, you know, the Egyptians and the Hittites and the Assyrians or whatever, they would know they would have to know which god was witnessing the treaty.
- 43:07So for the Hurrians, it would be, say, Kumarbi, and for the Greeks it would be Cronos, and for the Assyrians, it would be, you know, uh Asher, and for the Babylonians, it would be Enlil.
- 43:17The same deity by different names.
- 43:19The Hebrews called him Molech.
- 43:22Okay, this entity, Saturn, Kronos, L of the Canaanites and so forth.
- 43:27And there is a poem written in the first century BC, around the time of the assassination of Julius Caesar and just after, just as Caesar Augustus was beginning to come to power, called the Fourth Ecklog.
- 43:40This is written by a Roman poet named Virgil, which prophesied a coming golden age, where Saturn would return to rule over an age of uh, you know, of plenty.
- 43:51We would return to the pre-flood era, you know, the when the the life was easy for humans.
- 43:58There are occultists and uh new agers and um uh the who have been trying to manifest this for a long time.
- 44:09We saw on the winter solstice of 2020, just what, 10 days, 12 days before the January 6th riots at the uh U.S.
- 44:19Capitol, the uh the great conjunction uh between Jupiter and Saturn in the night sky, Jupiter and Saturn, the closest observable conjunction between those two planets in 800 years, and it occurred at zero degrees of the constellation Aquarius, meaning we are now fully into the age of Aquarius, you know, the old song Harmony and Understanding and Brotherhood of Man and all that.
- 44:45There are people who take that seriously, and they believe that uh what uh astrologers call the great mutation points to the beginning of a new golden age.
- 44:56And uh that would mean Saturn returning from his underworld prison, because according to the Greek and Roman myths, Saturn Cronos was banished to Tartarus by Jupiter, Zeus.
- 45:08Uh, but apparently this is the handing of the baton from Jupiter, Zeus, back to old dad, Saturn, Kronos, returning.
- 45:17I argued in the second coming of Saturn that um George Washington represented Saturn and the fact that his legs are wrapped in purple cloth, purple being the color of royalty for the in the ancient world, um, Saturn in his temple in Rome had his legs wrapped in wool for 50 weeks out of the year, except during the period of the Saturnalia, which represented him getting out of the nether world and returning to the surface and everything was turned on its head, slaves were served by the masters and so on.
- 45:51Anyway, this is what I believe represents, you know, is represented by Washington on the uh in that particular painting, the apotheosis of Washington, but there's a simp, there's one scene around Washington there called Agriculture, where a character called Young America wearing a Phrygian cap, which is sort of that floppy felt cap with a point red hat, um, similar to the way the minor Greek character Ganymede is represented in their myths.
- 46:24Ganymede is supposed to be a young boy who was so handsome that Zeus couldn't resist him.
- 46:29Zeus swooped down in the form of an eagle from Mount Olympus and carried him off to become cupbearer of the gods, except that it was a little more um intense than that.
- 46:41And uh there's a reason that when that scene is depicted in ancient art, it's called the rape of Ganymede.
- 46:47Okay, he's the submissive younger partner to Zeus.
- 46:53Now, United States, in this depiction around George Washington, showing Saturn returning to his rightful place as ruler of the cosmos, America is depicted as the submissive younger partner of Zeus slash Jupiter.
- 47:09Why is that relevant?
- 47:11Because identified the storm god, Baal, Zeus, Jupiter, as Satan.
- 47:20Matthew 12, beginning of verse 22, Jesus accused of casting out demons by the power of Beelzebal, which means Baal, the prince, Jesus says, if Satan casts out demons by his own power, how will Satan's kingdom stand?
- 47:33And then in Revelation 2, verse 13, uh, letter to Pergamum.
- 47:38I know where you live, where Satan dwells.
- 47:40That's a reference to the great altar of Zeus.
- 47:42Zeus was just the Greek form of Baal.
- 47:46So Jesus identifies Jupiter as, you know, Jupiter, Zeus, Baal as Satan, the United States Capitol, which is called the Capitol because that was the name of the temple of Jupiter in Rome, the Capitolium.
- 48:01Thomas Jefferson insisted on that.
- 48:04Uh, and then inside the dome, the Oculus, you've got Saturn, George Washington, returning to rule over a new golden age, in which the United States is depicted as the character who is the submissive junior partner to Jupiter, Zeus, Satan.
- 48:24It's now, did the architects and artists know this when they did that?
- 48:28I don't know.
- 48:29But somewhere in the spirit realm, the unseen realm, you got to believe the fallen realm, uh, fallen angels and demons are having a good laugh.
- 48:36Oof, boy, that was that was a lot to digest.
- 48:39It's a lot to take in.
- 48:41Well, we're coming down towards the end of our show.
- 48:43So these next couple questions, I'd like you to just, you know, give us like a little shorter answers to these.
- 48:48Okay.
- 48:49One of the questions is you said that the practice of summoning demons, I'm sorry, the practice of summoning spirits in the ancient world is related to modern UFO phenomenon.
- 49:00They connected.
- 49:02Well, it's because most of the people who claim that they've heard from these uh entities, whether it's the Ashtar command or aliens from Zeta Reticuli, it always seems to be telepathic communication.
- 49:13I mean, I just don't wonder about this.
- 49:14If they've got the technology to cross the distance between here and uh, you know, Alpha Centauri, can't they like, you know, flash their headlights or use a webcam or something?
- 49:24No, it's always telepathic, which is spiritual communication, and that's why we believe it's not extraterrestrial, it's interdimensional.
- 49:32These are demonic spirits that are communicating with people.
- 49:35That's interesting.
- 49:36How will technology be used to open the gates of hell?
- 49:40Artificial intelligence is uh, and this is why we included a chapter at the beginning of the book, a uh fictional scenario with a uh an entity that uh Sharon very cleverly uh named Kronos.
- 49:53She came up with a really clever acronym for this operating system.
- 49:56Um if if, and this is something we speculate.
- 50:00About for years.
- 50:01If the human mind, which is a bioelectrical thinking machine, can be overwhelmed by an external force, which we as Christians believe can happen.
- 50:10You know, demonic oppression, demonic possession.
- 50:13Why not a mechanical electrical thinking machine?
- 50:19The researchers who do the work in the field of artificial intelligence refer to the neural networks that they create as black boxes.
- 50:29Because we've been told this in interviews with a couple of these guys who specialize in this.
- 50:33They literally do not know what goes on inside those black boxes.
- 50:38All they know is they put in data.
- 50:40If they don't get the output they want, they change the input until they get the data that they want.
- 50:44They're doing great engineering.
- 50:46This is uh something Dr.
- 50:47Hugo de Guerrero, who is a leading researcher with the uh artificial brain institute at Xiamen University in China years ago, said we I was doing great engineering, but lousy science, and that's why he quit.
- 50:59Um they they knew what they were getting when they put in certain data, but they didn't know why they were getting it.
- 51:04So is it possible that and there have been reports that you know that uh some of these AIs, these chat bots that people have been communicating with, claim to be deities, claim to be angelic beings, claim to be spirits.
- 51:18Are they lying?
- 51:19Are they just are they just repeating back to us what they think we want to hear?
- 51:23Or is there something really going on inside the black boxes?
- 51:25And we believe it's possible there's something going on inside those black boxes.
- 51:29You know, I've read reports like that, other like reports like what you just described about uh people having conversations with either Grok or ChatGPT or Gemini or whatever the other ones are, and saying, you know, who are you and having a conversation of them coming back?
- 51:46You know, I know what I know because I am what I am, you know.
- 51:50And you you go, Whoa, what is this that I'm talking to here?
- 51:55And that people have relationships with them and have conversations with them.
- 51:58It is kind of scary.
- 52:00So, why is all of this important relevant to Christians today?
- 52:04We need to understand that this uh supernatural conflict is real.
- 52:08I think we in the West, here in America especially, we have so de supernaturalized the Bible that Jesus has been reduced to the one who is standing on the front lines for us in this battle to a cosmic life coach.
- 52:22I mean, you know, okay, yeah, uh follow biblical advice, and maybe you will be better off in terms of your relationships, but uh the Bible doesn't promise any of us that we're going to be happy, healthy, wealthy, and wise.
- 52:35Um, you know, all of us are struggling with something.
- 52:37And the fact is that there are evil intelligences out there in the unseen realm who have rebelled against God, rebelled against those who follow God and want to do us harm.
- 52:48And if we're on a battlefield, we we are pretending that the enemy doesn't exist.
- 52:53It should be no surprise to us that uh so many around us are getting wounded.
- 52:57It helps to explain why the world is in the state that it's in, but it also gives us hope because he has already won the war.
- 53:06There are still skirmishes to be fought.
- 53:08It is our mission between now and the end of the age to minister to those who are wounded, to bring them behind our lines and attend to them, and uh to hold our ground until the cavalry comes over the hill, which would be Jesus at the head of the heavenly army.
- 53:28You know, we've got just just about two minutes left, Derek, but I want you to say what is the most important takeaway message you want people to know when they read your book and why uh why they should read your book, The Gates of Hell.
- 53:40And I want to read the subtitle, The Gates of Hell is the book.
- 53:44And then the subtitle is Unlocking the Ganymede Code and the Demonic Portals of Mount Herman in the United States Capitol.
- 53:51What's the take?
- 53:51What's the most important message you're trying to convey through this book?
- 53:55We could now we admit when we get to the uh sections on uh, you know, the United States Capitol and some of the imagery built into the art and architecture there that we get speculative.
- 54:05But the reason we include so much archaeology and so much history and so much Bible in what we write is that we want to again communicate that this supernatural conflict between the God who created us, who created everything and called it good at the end of seven days, created us all with free will, and that includes these unseen entities called angels and demons.
- 54:26And they also exercise free will, and like us, many of them have chosen badly.
- 54:31But the good news is that there is a way out.
- 54:35There are we had a friend named Patrick Heron who wrote a book called The Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse years ago that was very influential in getting us down this line of research.
- 54:44He said, the bad news is we're on the Titanic.
- 54:48We're on the spiritual Titanic and it's going down.
- 54:50The good news is there's room in the lifeboat.
- 54:54There's room in the lifeboat, just by acknowledging and gig and accepting that Jesus Christ died in accordance with the scriptures for your sins and rose again on the third day in accordance with the scriptures.
- 55:06That's first Corinthians 15, the first few chapter first few verses of 1 Corinthians 15.
- 55:11That's the gospel by which we are saved.
- 55:13It's very simple, and then everything follows from that.
- 55:16But again, understanding that there is an unseen realm that is very active, just makes what Jesus did on the cross that much more powerful.
- 55:25That's really powerful.
- 55:26Where can they very quickly now, where can they listen to your broadcasts?
- 55:30And where's the best place to get your books?
- 55:32You can uh find us at uh any bookstore, Amazon.com, of course, uh in the available paperback, Kindle, and uh as audiobooks now, and uh follow Sharon and me and our work at Gilberthouse.org.
- 55:44That's Gilberthouse.org.
- 55:46And you can have an app for that too.
- 55:49We do, yes, an app where people can download to a mobile device, phone or tablet, or to a smart TV, Roku, Fire TV, Amazon, uh, Apple TV, and so on, and uh follow us there as well.
- 56:00That's really great.
