- 0:00Speaker 1: So is this the new norm? Is my question? Is
- 0:03Speaker 1: the new norm that you come five minutes late to
- 0:07Speaker 1: all of our sessions?
- 0:08Speaker 2: It's three minutes, you fucker.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Let me tell you something. We have a very fancy
- 0:12Speaker 1: we got a very fancy guest, and the very fancy
- 0:14Speaker 1: guest is starting sitting alone in his closet and you're
- 0:18Speaker 1: what are you doing making a drink?
- 0:20Speaker 2: No, I was about to get my GT's kombucha. Actually
- 0:23Speaker 2: I was asking. I was gonna ask for like five
- 0:25Speaker 2: minutes so I could get a GT's. Well, not five minutes,
- 0:27Speaker 2: five seconds. So I got a big old ship. I
- 0:32Speaker 2: got a ship like, I got a real shipman, not
- 0:34Speaker 2: like not that you know what interested Yeah, not that
- 0:37Speaker 2: we're interested in advertising in your uh on your podcast shipment.
- 0:43Speaker 2: I got that, yo, you know you got to talk
- 0:45Speaker 2: about you got to talk about us every time you
- 0:47Speaker 2: talk to start this podcast shipment. So I got that
- 0:50Speaker 2: big ass kimbucha shipment. And I've already gone through two
- 0:54Speaker 2: of the bad boys.
- 0:56Speaker 1: You might, Yeah, Donald, we were on a call has
- 0:59Speaker 1: become us ansor of the show, and we are on
- 1:01Speaker 1: a call with them, and Donald and I genuinely drink it.
- 1:04Speaker 1: So it was a no brainer, and Donald's like, let
- 1:07Speaker 1: me ask you something. Since we have the inventor of
- 1:09Speaker 1: this on the phone, how many do you recommend I
- 1:12Speaker 1: can have a day? And the guy. The Guy's like, well,
- 1:16Speaker 1: I think three is probably probably the max you want
- 1:19Speaker 1: to have a day. And Donald's like, okay, good, good good.
- 1:25Speaker 1: So you might want to pace bro.
- 1:27Speaker 2: They're gonna be gone soon. Man, They're gonna be gone. Listen,
- 1:30Speaker 2: let me my wife, my kids. Oh it's a wrap.
- 1:33Speaker 1: We have a very First of all, this episode is fucking.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Hilarious, very funny episode.
- 1:38Speaker 1: I laughed so many times. And I was on a
- 1:40Speaker 1: text with Donald and Bill right before this and about something,
- 1:44Speaker 1: and I was like, this episode one twenty is one
- 1:46Speaker 1: of the funniest of season one.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yeah, easy, easy, And we have a.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Very handsome guests. Are you nervous? I put on a
- 1:52Speaker 1: nice sweatshirt for him.
- 1:53Speaker 2: No, I'm not nervous. He and I have worked a
- 1:56Speaker 2: lot together. Actually, we did Felicity together. We four Scrubs,
- 2:00Speaker 2: and then after Scrubs we did a little movie called
- 2:04Speaker 2: Let's Kill Ward's Wife together, and I played Ward uh
- 2:08Speaker 2: and he directed, and so uh, you know what I get.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I get nervous every time I see Scott Fully because really, yeah,
- 2:17Speaker 1: I'm I'm a straight man for the most part. But
- 2:21Speaker 1: there are certain men that I get a little shy
- 2:23Speaker 1: in front of, and okay, Fully is one of them. Really,
- 2:27Speaker 1: I don't want to play hide the peep with him,
- 2:29Speaker 1: but I get a little I get a little jittery.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Will you played? Would you play tip to tip?
- 2:34Speaker 1: I don't want to touch tips. I just listen. I
- 2:37Speaker 1: am secure enough in my in my sexuality to be
- 2:40Speaker 1: able to say that I get a little, I get
- 2:42Speaker 1: a little a flutter.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Oh okay, I.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Don't want to go tip to tip with Scott Fully,
- 2:47Speaker 1: but I I do think he's uh, he's very dreamy
- 2:49Speaker 1: to look at, and I I also really like him
- 2:53Speaker 1: as a human being. He's a he's a very sweet man. Okay,
- 2:56Speaker 1: should we invite him in?
- 2:57Speaker 2: Yeah? Why not?
- 2:58Speaker 1: I mean, I'm excited. Dan bring him in, Dan allow
- 3:01Speaker 1: him in. We put him in a green room. Oh
- 3:05Speaker 1: my goodness, man, just talking about you, you were yeah,
- 3:11Speaker 1: Donald was saying that you guys have worked on several
- 3:13Speaker 1: projects together.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Not wait before we get into this, Let's make sure
- 3:17Speaker 2: he's recording.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Are you recording stuff? Fully?
- 3:20Speaker 3: I think I'm recording on here? Right the phone.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yes, yes, good, good, many a guest. I got this
- 3:25Speaker 1: sub stuff fully, but there's something that tells me that
- 3:27Speaker 1: you're going to do it right.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Oh, you look so handsome. Look at him looking out.
- 3:31Speaker 2: I'm gonna wait.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I was gonna wait a beat to tell him he
- 3:35Speaker 1: was handsome. Donald, you went right for it.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Can I tell you this. I watched the episode not
- 3:40Speaker 3: that long ago. I've watched it a couple of times
- 3:42Speaker 3: since we talked about me being on this, and this
- 3:44Speaker 3: is the first time my hair has been the same
- 3:46Speaker 3: length as it was during that episode. And I have
- 3:49Speaker 3: the pandemic to think.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Scott, you got an intro. I don't think another man
- 3:54Speaker 1: in nine years got the intro that we normally reserve
- 3:57Speaker 1: for the beautiful woman walking in with the slow motion
- 4:01Speaker 1: and the fan and they literally angels going oh.
- 4:05Speaker 3: It was a bit much and I was a little overwhelmed.
- 4:07Speaker 3: And I think you can tell that in my performance.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It was hilarious though.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Eating Jello seductive.
- 4:16Speaker 3: I mean I remember them. I remember them coming to
- 4:18Speaker 3: me saying like, what do you want to eat? I
- 4:19Speaker 3: was like, what's a hospital?
- 4:20Speaker 2: Right?
- 4:20Speaker 3: And they're like jello.
- 4:21Speaker 2: It is.
- 4:24Speaker 1: The way Sarah's character is so randy for you in
- 4:27Speaker 1: this I had forgotten, you know, we obviously, Scott, we
- 4:30Speaker 1: go back. We haven't seen these in twenty years. And
- 4:32Speaker 1: so it's fun for Doll and I because even though
- 4:34Speaker 1: we're the stars of the show, were watching it like
- 4:36Speaker 1: a new being, like, oh, that's a funny episode. And
- 4:39Speaker 1: I had totally forgotten how in this episode Sarah is
- 4:42Speaker 1: like really horny, frankly and riled up, like she's like
- 4:46Speaker 1: she's she.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Literally says, if I don't sleep with him, I'm gonna
- 4:49Speaker 2: kill myself.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Right And then yeah, she said she she'd suck on
- 4:53Speaker 1: his foot or.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Something, and then he's like, what I did?
- 4:58Speaker 3: They went They went to a lot of links with this,
- 5:00Speaker 3: between the sucking on the foot, talking about needing to
- 5:03Speaker 3: sleep with me, begging me to ask her out do it,
- 5:05Speaker 3: dropping stuff, and doing bizarre contortions, which, by the way,
- 5:10Speaker 3: works for anybody out there. It was really funny.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Though, because it's not something you often see on a show,
- 5:15Speaker 1: like you always see like the man being like neurotic
- 5:18Speaker 1: and frantic. How do I get her? And I'm so
- 5:21Speaker 1: attracted to her, I'm so horny, you know, and this
- 5:23Speaker 1: I thought this was funny that Sarah. First of all,
- 5:26Speaker 1: Sarah was very funny doing it, but she's so on
- 5:29Speaker 1: a mission to get laid.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I you know, it's funny. I had so many
- 5:34Speaker 3: thoughts watching this. Sorry, you're gonna see my lights going on,
- 5:36Speaker 3: and nobody can see that because we're on a podcast.
- 5:38Speaker 3: I'm in a closet where it's got one of those
- 5:40Speaker 3: automatic lights. You walk in and it turns on, and
- 5:43Speaker 3: if I'm sitting here and not moving, then it's gonna
- 5:45Speaker 3: go dark.
- 5:46Speaker 1: That's the kind of fancy house that Scott Foley has.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Everyone he has a light that turns on with his money.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Some people have the clapper, some people have light switches.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Scott Foley has movement.
- 5:57Speaker 1: One day, if you have the level of success of
- 5:59Speaker 1: legendary actor Scott Fully, you could get one of these
- 6:02Speaker 1: motion lights in your closet.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Uh huh, I think all of your closets have that. No,
- 6:08Speaker 3: I was so impressed. First of all, what a time capsule.
- 6:11Speaker 3: These things are right, like not just the references, but
- 6:14Speaker 3: everything you see, Like the TV you guys are watching
- 6:16Speaker 3: in the beginning is an old vacuum tube television, you know,
- 6:19Speaker 3: which you just don't see anymore. Plus you guys are
- 6:21Speaker 3: talking about watching Iron Chef, which somehow has stood the
- 6:24Speaker 3: test of time, because I think it's still on. I
- 6:26Speaker 3: think there's still making.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Yeah. I think back then it was like Iron Chef
- 6:30Speaker 2: was an import and now it's domestic.
- 6:34Speaker 1: You know, I don't know that there's Is there a
- 6:36Speaker 1: domestic Iron Chef?
- 6:37Speaker 2: Yes, like body and all of that stuff on it
- 6:40Speaker 2: and stuff.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Yeah, but it was also it was also so impressive
- 6:43Speaker 3: to me to see, you know, this is the we're
- 6:45Speaker 3: getting towards the end of the first season, if I'm
- 6:47Speaker 3: not mistaken, and you guys have your characters dialed in
- 6:52Speaker 3: at this point already. I've been on a bunch of
- 6:54Speaker 3: television shows where it's not until like end of season
- 6:56Speaker 3: three where people are like, oh, oh, I know who
- 6:58Speaker 3: this guy is. You guys are dialed in to a
- 7:01Speaker 3: person like two from Kelso to Cox to you guys
- 7:05Speaker 3: to Sarah to like, it's amazing and being able to
- 7:09Speaker 3: jump into that, you know, it was such an interesting
- 7:11Speaker 3: character that I got to play here. But you're right,
- 7:13Speaker 3: watching Sarah and that character totally go for it was
- 7:18Speaker 3: such an interesting thing because you always see it from
- 7:20Speaker 3: the other side, don't you.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Yeah, And she's really fucking funny. I mean, we say this,
- 7:24Speaker 1: this is our twentieth episode of this Scott Fully, believe
- 7:27Speaker 1: it or not, it's become us a hit and we
- 7:28Speaker 1: can't believe it ourselves. But this is our twentieth one
- 7:31Speaker 1: and we've said it a bunch of times. But Sarah
- 7:34Speaker 1: Chalk is so fucking funny. I mean this episode in particular,
- 7:37Speaker 1: she is so fucking funny in this episode.
- 7:39Speaker 3: She's so talented, she's so beautiful, she is so good
- 7:42Speaker 3: at what she does, and she goes for it, man.
- 7:44Speaker 3: And that's what I appreciated most about the show is that,
- 7:47Speaker 3: you know, there are things that you would read on
- 7:48Speaker 3: the page, you think like, oh how am I going
- 7:50Speaker 3: to do that? And everybody to a person goes for it.
- 7:54Speaker 3: And I think that's what really made this show successful
- 7:56Speaker 3: and what makes it stand the test of time, even
- 7:58Speaker 3: though we're still looking at old TV sets.
- 8:00Speaker 2: It's all good.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Well, speaking of serious, a lot to talk about, Donald,
- 8:04Speaker 1: but I think we should sing first.
- 8:06Speaker 2: And Scott, I was about to say, speaking of successful,
- 8:09Speaker 2: let's get into that successful theme song about six seven
- 8:13Speaker 2: eight Scott to do it?
- 8:15Speaker 1: No, I like it not the song I would like
- 8:18Speaker 1: Scott fully to count it sent God has got.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Five six, seven, eight stories about shore.
- 8:26Speaker 4: We made about a bunch of dogs and nurses and
- 8:31Speaker 4: janitor who he said, here's the stories next. So YadA
- 8:39Speaker 4: around here, yeada n here.
- 8:45Speaker 1: No, that's the first time in podcast history we stopped
- 8:50Speaker 1: the opening theme song. And I'm sorry, Donald, I didn't
- 8:53Speaker 1: mean to question your no.
- 8:55Speaker 3: No no no no no no no no no, no
- 8:56Speaker 3: no no.
- 8:57Speaker 1: It's just about a VIP guest, and I thought, like,
- 9:00Speaker 1: give him the honor.
- 9:01Speaker 3: He was really excited to go for it.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I'm not. I'm not at all hurt in any way.
- 9:05Speaker 1: No, you know you're we are, we are, we are
- 9:07Speaker 1: partners in this, and I don't want you to ever
- 9:09Speaker 1: think I would ever question when it's time to sing
- 9:11Speaker 1: the song.
- 9:12Speaker 3: It was just your harmony song. Your harmony with that
- 9:15Speaker 3: song is something that that my wife and I have
- 9:17Speaker 3: had conversations about.
- 9:19Speaker 2: We go for it, We go for it's really good.
- 9:21Speaker 1: No listen to Scott. When we made this song, we
- 9:23Speaker 1: were like okay, but I was like, well, how do
- 9:25Speaker 1: we how do we do it? Now? How do we
- 9:28Speaker 1: You know, we made the song, but how are we
- 9:29Speaker 1: are both going to sing all the lyrics and Donald's like,
- 9:31Speaker 1: don't worry, I got this, and he like came up
- 9:32Speaker 1: with all those harmonies.
- 9:35Speaker 2: I was like, Zach was like, I'll just send you
- 9:37Speaker 2: a I'll send you my verse. I'll sing the whole
- 9:40Speaker 2: song and I'll send it to you and you just sing,
- 9:42Speaker 2: because originally we were going to do it where we
- 9:44Speaker 2: split up the the the words. Yeah right, And he
- 9:48Speaker 2: was like, I'll sing the whole thing and you just
- 9:50Speaker 2: pick where you want to sing, and we'll have Charlie
- 9:53Speaker 2: cut us in. And I heard him sing and I
- 9:55Speaker 2: was like, I think he sounds amazing. The only way
- 9:59Speaker 2: that this is gonna work is if I just back
- 10:01Speaker 2: him up with some hard.
- 10:02Speaker 3: If I sing the whole thing too, it's exactly good.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Exactly this is good. But you know what's gonna do,
- 10:09Speaker 1: what's gonna make it better? If I do really need
- 10:12Speaker 1: if I do really showy harmonies over all.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Of this, well it works and we are fans, so
- 10:19Speaker 3: good job, right, right.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Of course, Donald, I think we should go back to
- 10:24Speaker 2: I was gonna say that, let's obviously Scott's career.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I'll do a little we have to go back a
- 10:28Speaker 1: little bit.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Scott.
- 10:29Speaker 1: The first time I remember hearing about you was on
- 10:31Speaker 1: a very very successful show, solely successful because of Donald's
- 10:35Speaker 1: phase on but I believe you were on it too.
- 10:37Speaker 1: It's called Felicity, that's correct.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Donald and I met for the first time on Felicity,
- 10:42Speaker 3: and I remember being like, holy ship, the clueless guys here.
- 10:47Speaker 1: That's what happens every time he walks into.
- 10:49Speaker 3: A restaurant, of course, of course, but I also I
- 10:53Speaker 3: mean Donald was great on that, and you were you.
- 10:55Speaker 3: You had that you were going through this phase where
- 10:57Speaker 3: you were trying to be ripped you. I remember I
- 11:00Speaker 3: think the first table read you came in, you were
- 11:02Speaker 3: carrying like a three gallon Jerry can of water.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:05Speaker 3: It gives you crazy, the amount of water you would
- 11:07Speaker 3: drink every day, and you were shredded. And we'd play
- 11:10Speaker 3: basketball in the parking lot out there. And actually I remember,
- 11:14Speaker 3: I think you've been on the show off and on
- 11:17Speaker 3: for a season or two, maybe three, and before Scrubs
- 11:22Speaker 3: came around, right, yeah, And I remember talking to you.
- 11:26Speaker 3: You had done the pilot and you were telling me
- 11:28Speaker 3: about it and you said, I don't know, man, it's
- 11:30Speaker 3: really funny. It's from this young rider. Uh. He did
- 11:33Speaker 3: Spin City and we got a good group and I
- 11:36Speaker 3: saw the pilot and it's really funny. I think it's
- 11:37Speaker 3: gonna take off. And I was like, yeah, good for you.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Let's keep playing basketball.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Yes, and later, Yeah, we had a lot of conversations
- 11:46Speaker 2: just about work back back then. Also, you know, I
- 11:50Speaker 2: don't know how new you were to the game, but
- 11:52Speaker 2: you had been working. You did, you had done Felicity,
- 11:55Speaker 2: You had done Scream two or was it.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Your scream Scream three? I'd done before for I had
- 12:00Speaker 3: done Dawson's Creek, which was sort of my introduction to
- 12:03Speaker 3: the back then was the WB the now defunct WB World, which.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Was Felicity, your first big leading part.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Felicity was my first big leading part. Yeah, yeah, and
- 12:14Speaker 3: you know it was. It was really the the springboard
- 12:17Speaker 3: that and I'm so grateful for it that that allowed
- 12:19Speaker 3: me to be a part of your show and sort
- 12:21Speaker 3: of everything that's come since.
- 12:23Speaker 1: And and when you guys, are you guys still friendly?
- 12:27Speaker 1: The three of you, the three of you.
- 12:28Speaker 3: The love Triangle, We're not not friendly.
- 12:32Speaker 1: We don't like you know, I me and Donald where
- 12:33Speaker 1: you're not like having him over and and and putting
- 12:36Speaker 1: his putting his kids in a in a bouncy castle.
- 12:39Speaker 3: No, I'm I'm We're not like that. But but we
- 12:41Speaker 3: got together last year for it was the twentieth reunion
- 12:45Speaker 3: of Felicity. Wow, which was amazing and we got so
- 12:48Speaker 3: many people together. We went to the at X, the
- 12:52Speaker 3: Austin Television Festival, and I think they screened an episode
- 12:55Speaker 3: and we all sat on stage where a bunch of
- 12:57Speaker 3: people ask us questions. There was a modern and it
- 12:58Speaker 3: was really great. It was the first time we'd all
- 13:01Speaker 3: been together in you know, seventeen eighteen years.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Wow.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Yeah, it was really really fun man, And I uh,
- 13:10Speaker 3: you know, I'd always said I don't think you know,
- 13:12Speaker 3: they talk about doing reboots, and I always said, I
- 13:14Speaker 3: don't think you can do a reboot of Felicity because
- 13:16Speaker 3: it was so specific to not just that time in
- 13:20Speaker 3: a person's life when we were all so much younger,
- 13:23Speaker 3: but to that period of the world of our existence.
- 13:28Speaker 3: And I sort of changed my mind after being with
- 13:33Speaker 3: them because I just missed them all so much, and
- 13:36Speaker 3: I remembered the feelings that I had, both good and bad,
- 13:40Speaker 3: and I sort of yearned for them.
- 13:42Speaker 1: So, if you know, I think we have an exclusive
- 13:45Speaker 1: right here on the Fake Doctor's real friend, gott Foley
- 13:49Speaker 1: is willing to do a Felicity reboot everybody.
- 13:51Speaker 3: That would be interesting again, it wouldn't be a no.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Could Donald be on it too? I would only support
- 13:55Speaker 1: it if my character lives.
- 13:56Speaker 2: My character lives, so it's a possibility.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Right, Could I only support it if you get to
- 14:01Speaker 1: come back town.
- 14:02Speaker 2: It would be very interesting to see if everybody is
- 14:05Speaker 2: still friendly from the cast in the show, you know
- 14:09Speaker 2: what I mean, Like, you guys were in college together,
- 14:11Speaker 2: and you guys all lived together, kind disorder, and you
- 14:13Speaker 2: guys all dated each other, but it was college and
- 14:17Speaker 2: usually you know, I didn't go to college, but I
- 14:20Speaker 2: don't have a lot of friends from my you know,
- 14:23Speaker 2: early that I still hang out with from my early
- 14:26Speaker 2: twenties that I still hang out with. So it'd be
- 14:28Speaker 2: really interesting to see what happened after you guys all
- 14:30Speaker 2: left NYU.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I remember when there was a controversy when Carrie Russell
- 14:34Speaker 1: cut her hair. People lost their minds, right.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Yeah, And that's I remember being.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Like, I remember, I remember I didn't watch the show,
- 14:41Speaker 1: but I remember being like, are people really up in
- 14:43Speaker 1: arms that carry Russell cut her hair?
- 14:46Speaker 3: People were up in arms and it was it's to
- 14:48Speaker 3: this day, I think the thing that people talk about
- 14:51Speaker 3: the most when they talk about the show, and the
- 14:53Speaker 3: interesting thing is that it was scripted, Like she cut
- 14:56Speaker 3: her hair on the show and somehow it it gained traction.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Is this urban legend that she did it on her
- 15:02Speaker 3: own because she was angry or wanted to change or
- 15:04Speaker 3: get away from the character. We cut it. You actually
- 15:07Speaker 3: see it in season two of the show, her cutting
- 15:09Speaker 3: her hair, and I thought she looked more beautiful with
- 15:13Speaker 3: the short hair than she did with the long.
- 15:14Speaker 1: But you know, people just loved it. I'm just just
- 15:17Speaker 1: making up that people loved her hair so much that
- 15:20Speaker 1: they were like, how dare you?
- 15:21Speaker 2: It was a lot of hair due it was a
- 15:23Speaker 2: lot of hair.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I'm assuming, as I recall, she had beautiful, curly, long hair,
- 15:27Speaker 1: and people were like, you know.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Dare you? Yeah?
- 15:30Speaker 3: I enviable hair.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, it looked like she had been growing it
- 15:34Speaker 2: since birth. That's how beautiful the hair was.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Garry Russell was on our show. She was a love
- 15:39Speaker 1: interest of mine.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Is that right?
- 15:41Speaker 1: On Scrubs? Yeah?
- 15:42Speaker 2: Yes, she did a couple episodes, just like, well you
- 15:45Speaker 2: did way more episode your character tracked.
- 15:46Speaker 1: For Yeah, well don't worry, Scott, you did way more.
- 15:49Speaker 1: But uh, I know, you know you did me a
- 15:52Speaker 1: favor and look up how many she did.
- 15:53Speaker 2: But she did too.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Yeah, oh, Donald, you know.
- 15:56Speaker 3: That that's cool. So now she's talented and great.
- 15:59Speaker 1: And we kissed, I think, I mean on the show.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I think we kissed.
- 16:03Speaker 3: We might be lip guarantee. I would guarantee that you
- 16:06Speaker 3: remember whether you kissed or not.
- 16:08Speaker 1: No, I know, I I remember being very excited that
- 16:10Speaker 1: she was a love interest. But Jad didn't make out
- 16:12Speaker 1: with all his love interests. I Joelle will look it
- 16:15Speaker 1: up for me, did JD? But anyway, Scott, we might
- 16:17Speaker 1: be lip cousins.
- 16:20Speaker 3: We're definitely wiener cousins.
- 16:21Speaker 1: We're definitely wiener cousins. Donald and I were touching talk
- 16:24Speaker 1: about touching tips or just before you came on, but
- 16:28Speaker 1: not in real life Donald with Sarah.
- 16:30Speaker 3: In the character Yeah, oh oh oh, well, I think
- 16:33Speaker 3: I hope that's the only crossover.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I don't think we had any real life crossover, Scott, fully,
- 16:38Speaker 1: and I hope not because the woman would have clearly
- 16:40Speaker 1: preferred you.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I don't know about that, although you know, I'm only
- 16:44Speaker 3: how dare you you know how handsome you are?
- 16:47Speaker 1: Scott?
- 16:48Speaker 2: Listen, listen, listen.
- 16:50Speaker 1: You might be handsome.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Tell me all you know, listen, I know that all
- 16:54Speaker 2: of your supporters are out there right now. You know,
- 16:58Speaker 2: just you probably bought, you know, quite a few downloads
- 17:02Speaker 2: to our podcast. Just you.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, now, yeah, that's very kind.
- 17:06Speaker 2: People are your scandal crew? Hey, girls, how y'all doing?
- 17:13Speaker 2: I'll take that.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Must have something else in common, and that is we've
- 17:17Speaker 1: all had ABC cancel our shows in season one?
- 17:22Speaker 2: Yes, brutal thirteen episodes. He's got thirteen.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I only got I only got ten, Scott, how many
- 17:27Speaker 1: did you get?
- 17:28Speaker 3: We got thirteen, thank goodness, and a trip to Prague?
- 17:32Speaker 2: That right, right.
- 17:33Speaker 1: So for those of you who don't know, because I
- 17:35Speaker 1: guess not enough of you knew, ut none enough watched.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Scott was on a huge budget action series that shot
- 17:42Speaker 1: in Prague. He moved his whole family there, which is
- 17:45Speaker 1: no small deal because you have two children, right.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I have three children. They were three school over there. Yeah.
- 17:53Speaker 1: And it was not a by no means a simple
- 17:55Speaker 1: show I was about. I was going to direct it,
- 17:57Speaker 1: but then I had a conflict. But it was a
- 17:58Speaker 1: huge budget epic sort of James Bond comedic, James Bond
- 18:02Speaker 1: action show that Bill Lawrence six Degrees of Bill Lawrence
- 18:07Speaker 1: was the showrunner of and I thought it was amazing.
- 18:10Speaker 1: The pilot was unbelievable. I couldn't believe the scale of it.
- 18:13Speaker 1: It looked like it looked like a giant feature. Oh thanks, man,
- 18:17Speaker 1: and you were so good in it. But anyway, I was,
- 18:19Speaker 1: as I was preparing for today, I went all three
- 18:21Speaker 1: of us were at work, were stars of ABC, and
- 18:25Speaker 1: then got a new ABC show that only went half
- 18:27Speaker 1: a season.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Man, it was just and it's still heartbreaking. My wife
- 18:31Speaker 3: and I had a conversation about it a couple nights
- 18:33Speaker 3: ago where you know, she was like, Oh, I wish
- 18:35Speaker 3: we were still in Prague. You know, we just we
- 18:38Speaker 3: were so fortunate. And you know, that's one of the
- 18:40Speaker 3: great things about and one of the reasons I'm so
- 18:43Speaker 3: excited to talk to you guys today, because you know,
- 18:46Speaker 3: Scrubs for me was it started out as just a gig,
- 18:49Speaker 3: right and coming in doing something fun, doing something different,
- 18:52Speaker 3: and it has morphed into the relationships that I've made
- 18:58Speaker 3: from it have have sustained a lot of what I do,
- 19:02Speaker 3: and it's it's made me happy. The people that I've
- 19:05Speaker 3: gotten to work with and gone on to work with
- 19:07Speaker 3: because of Scrubs have been great. And like you said,
- 19:10Speaker 3: Bill Lawrence was the showrunner of Whiskey Cavalier and we
- 19:13Speaker 3: were over in Prague together and you know, without Scrubs
- 19:15Speaker 3: that wouldn't have happened.
- 19:16Speaker 1: And I think you really showed that you were really funny, Scott,
- 19:20Speaker 1: I mean, he got I think that with your other
- 19:22Speaker 1: shows that you'd known for, you know, whether it be
- 19:25Speaker 1: Felicity or Scandal. You know, obviously people know that you
- 19:28Speaker 1: as a as a great dramatic actor. But I think
- 19:31Speaker 1: on Scrubs Bill really gave you a chance to be hilarious.
- 19:35Speaker 1: One of my favorite moments of of of Shawn's character
- 19:39Speaker 1: was in the script. I say this to Scott all
- 19:42Speaker 1: the time and Bill all the time that it literally
- 19:44Speaker 1: said in a script, Sean for lornly rides a dolphin.
- 19:51Speaker 1: And then when I saw the shot of you for
- 19:53Speaker 1: Lornley riding a dolphin, I thought he fucking nailed that.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Maybe he really the best screen direction of my career.
- 20:00Speaker 1: That's how I would sum up that shot is Sean
- 20:02Speaker 1: Forlornly rise of dolphin.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Oh thanks man, Well, I will look.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Before I will say this, though I knew you were
- 20:10Speaker 2: funny from when we did Felicity together, when Noel went
- 20:12Speaker 2: off the rails and went a little batshit crazy, and
- 20:15Speaker 2: you got to explore this character who was kind of
- 20:19Speaker 2: by the book and did everything by the book, refined himself.
- 20:24Speaker 2: And I remember doing a bunch of episodes where they
- 20:26Speaker 2: were looking for you and we finally found you, and
- 20:29Speaker 2: you were like, you were completely out there, And I
- 20:31Speaker 2: remember not being able to hold it together when we
- 20:34Speaker 2: were doing the takes because you were so funny. So
- 20:37Speaker 2: I knew you were funny way before we still before
- 20:40Speaker 2: you came on Scrubs.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Oh thanks man. I yeah, I think I think Zach
- 20:45Speaker 3: you overstated my my talent by saying I'm a great
- 20:48Speaker 3: dramatic actor. I think I'm passable. But Donald, that was.
- 20:52Speaker 3: That was a bizarre like Season three Tangent where my
- 20:55Speaker 3: character Noel decided to change his name to Leon, literally
- 20:58Speaker 3: just reversed the letters in his name. They put like
- 21:03Speaker 3: a weird wig on me, so I had like blonde
- 21:06Speaker 3: tips on my hair. It was the strangest thing. But
- 21:09Speaker 3: thank you, Donald.
- 21:10Speaker 2: That was.
- 21:10Speaker 3: It was at least a little chance for me to
- 21:12Speaker 3: stretch myself in that character.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Now did J. J. Abrams run all the seasons.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Every season, Yes, every season. He was gone a little
- 21:22Speaker 3: bit on season four on our final season because he
- 21:25Speaker 3: had started a show called Alias and so was sort
- 21:28Speaker 3: of doing his time between both sets. But he was
- 21:32Speaker 3: there the whole time. I was really fortunate. You know,
- 21:34Speaker 3: obviously no one knew that J. J Abens would become J.
- 21:37Speaker 3: J Abrams back then.
- 21:39Speaker 1: You like, do you like Donald occasionally put it out
- 21:43Speaker 1: there that you're open to being in any Star Wars
- 21:46Speaker 1: franchises that he's suggested.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Can I tell you it's been. It's been the like
- 21:52Speaker 3: if if I was ever.
- 21:54Speaker 1: In anything Gunberg Gunberg. He keeps getting all the love.
- 21:57Speaker 1: I mean, where the Fu's happened to? With Donald and
- 21:59Speaker 1: Scott Foley.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Grumburg and J. J. Abrams have been friends since they
- 22:02Speaker 3: were three years old. Like they were best friends in
- 22:04Speaker 3: elementary school. They made you know, crappy movies together on
- 22:07Speaker 3: their Super eight film cameras when they were kids. They
- 22:11Speaker 3: were best men at each other's weddings. Look, I think
- 22:13Speaker 3: JJ knows just by the fact that I'm an actor
- 22:16Speaker 3: that I would like to be in Star Wars.
- 22:20Speaker 1: There gotta be more directs good.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Donald's very merus about him, But I would yeah, of
- 22:24Speaker 3: course I would love to. And I've you know, every
- 22:26Speaker 3: time he signs on to direct a new one, I
- 22:28Speaker 3: sent him a text like, Wow, way to go. You're
- 22:30Speaker 3: not gonna see your family for a while. Might want
- 22:32Speaker 3: some friends around. So I'm not sure how to take
- 22:36Speaker 3: it that he hasn't cast me in. You know, you
- 22:38Speaker 3: always there's the old story that you know someone likes
- 22:42Speaker 3: working with you, if they if they hire you again
- 22:44Speaker 3: and again and again. And I've been I've been fortunate
- 22:46Speaker 3: with Bill that that that's happened multiple times. JJ, not
- 22:49Speaker 3: so much, not what you know.
- 22:52Speaker 1: It's funny, jolly build a direct and giant tenpole movie.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I mean, what's going on? Bill? Step it up?
- 22:56Speaker 3: Do you remember he was gonna do Fletch eight script
- 23:01Speaker 3: for Fletch and I went and I met with him,
- 23:02Speaker 3: I read with him and there was a whole long
- 23:04Speaker 3: Mirrormax story that goes with it. But but he was
- 23:06Speaker 3: on his way. Man. I thought he would have been
- 23:08Speaker 3: great at that.
- 23:08Speaker 1: I know we really need him. I don't think he
- 23:10Speaker 1: is interested. He loves TV so much. But I think
- 23:12Speaker 1: for all of us, we would like Bill to become
- 23:14Speaker 1: a studio ten pole filmmaker if he doesn't.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Mind making movies anymore.
- 23:18Speaker 1: They do. There's a couple coming out.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Yeah, they're saying July. They're saying like into July, things
- 23:25Speaker 2: are gonna pick.
- 23:25Speaker 1: They're saying that Chris Nolan movie is coming out no
- 23:28Speaker 1: matter what Tenant. Oh really right, That's what I've been hearing.
- 23:32Speaker 1: And then I mean, maybe they'll change their mind. But
- 23:35Speaker 1: I read something on the interwebs that said they're still
- 23:37Speaker 1: saying July, which assumes that people are going to be
- 23:40Speaker 1: willing to go to the theater in July. I don't,
- 23:43Speaker 1: I don't, I don't know. It seems pretty ballsy to
- 23:45Speaker 1: release like a two hundred million dollars. I mean, I
- 23:48Speaker 1: don't know if it's not much money, but I think
- 23:49Speaker 1: scient movies for that for in July.
- 23:53Speaker 2: But some things are filming already, like they're filming in certain.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Jowell just said two hundred and five million and July seven,
- 24:00Speaker 1: that's coming up five million dollars. That's that's gonna be
- 24:04Speaker 1: interesting to see how you spend two hundred and five
- 24:06Speaker 1: million dollars.
- 24:08Speaker 3: I would think, like, wouldn't you have to double the
- 24:09Speaker 3: amount of theaters because the theaters are only going to
- 24:11Speaker 3: be at half capacity just because of social distancing in
- 24:14Speaker 3: order to like, they're just don't enough theaters out there
- 24:17Speaker 3: to the money.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Two hundred and five is the production budget, so they're
- 24:20Speaker 1: gonna put like one hundred million into releasing it. That
- 24:23Speaker 1: is a that's a lot of money.
- 24:26Speaker 2: That is a lot of money. But I asked my
- 24:28Speaker 2: but then you ask yourself how much did it cost
- 24:30Speaker 2: to make Endgame and all of those things? Those things
- 24:32Speaker 2: look like they cost half a billion dollars?
- 24:34Speaker 1: No, but when you've got a built in marvel onians,
- 24:36Speaker 1: this movie has no mega celebrities in it.
- 24:39Speaker 2: I don't but it's Nolan, man.
- 24:41Speaker 1: I mean, I know, I know, Chris Nolan is his
- 24:42Speaker 1: own enterprise. Don't get me wrong, I get it. But
- 24:45Speaker 1: it's got to be the most amount of money spent
- 24:48Speaker 1: on an original script.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Wow, and fifty million game.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Scott, you're not supposed to read the producer. Sorry, Okay,
- 24:57Speaker 1: this is a second time. It's did the same thing, Sarah.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Sarah did the same thing. Scott Donald and I are
- 25:04Speaker 1: the hosts of the show. You, as a guest, ignore
- 25:08Speaker 1: my producer's notes.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Well, no, you know what I was doing was pretending
- 25:11Speaker 3: that I actually knew the budget.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Sarah we had Sarah on, and Joel was like, you know,
- 25:18Speaker 1: Joel always gives us little things to help the conversation along,
- 25:21Speaker 1: and Sarah just starts reading them, Like, Sarah, that is
- 25:23Speaker 1: not for the guests.
- 25:26Speaker 3: The fact that you needed little things to help the
- 25:28Speaker 3: conversation along with Sarah, who I worked with for ten years,
- 25:31Speaker 3: is amazing.
- 25:31Speaker 1: No, but I said, I said, Sarah, what happens if
- 25:33Speaker 1: Joel's writing like this is so boring? Help her along?
- 25:36Speaker 1: You know, like, don't read those?
- 25:38Speaker 3: Okay, So I'll wait, I'm gonna put a piece of
- 25:40Speaker 3: tape above my my No no.
- 25:42Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, no, I'm kidding. I'm kidding
- 25:45Speaker 1: Joel Wright. Joel would never write Scott fully is so boring.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Don't worry.
- 25:49Speaker 3: She wouldn't be the first one.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 25:50Speaker 1: All I was saying was that Chris Nolan, I get,
- 25:53Speaker 1: is his own entity, and I get that everyone is
- 25:56Speaker 1: going to see this movie because he's a fucking genius.
- 25:58Speaker 1: But I wonder if it's the most amount of money
- 26:01Speaker 1: ever spent on a on a on a piece of
- 26:04Speaker 1: material that isn't already established piece of intellectual property like
- 26:08Speaker 1: Marvel or James Bond or the like. You know, what
- 26:11Speaker 1: I'm saying, I.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Don't I don't know. That's a lot of money to
- 26:15Speaker 2: have to spend on something and it not work, you know.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean just it's just the amount of
- 26:20Speaker 1: money it has to make in order for it to
- 26:22Speaker 1: be successful is just. And especially with what Scott's saying
- 26:26Speaker 1: is that the talk is that the theaters are only
- 26:28Speaker 1: gonna be half full, so you can have most distance
- 26:31Speaker 1: from from each other. So then you need double the
- 26:33Speaker 1: amount of screenings.
- 26:36Speaker 2: You know, work. What would be really interesting is Okay,
- 26:40Speaker 2: so Trolls World Tour was supposed to come out in
- 26:43Speaker 2: theaters and it didn't make it to theaters because of
- 26:45Speaker 2: the whole COVID thing, right, and so they released it
- 26:47Speaker 2: on uh digital, the digital platform, but you had to
- 26:51Speaker 2: rent it. You couldn't buy it. You could only rent it,
- 26:53Speaker 2: and your rental lasts for about, you know, twenty four hours.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I wonder how much money Trolls World Tour made. Because
- 27:02Speaker 2: the model is there to put movies out, well, at
- 27:05Speaker 2: least right now, if you if you really want to
- 27:08Speaker 2: watch and they haven't really experimented with like big blockbuster movies,
- 27:13Speaker 2: but if you really want to watch a movie, it's
- 27:16Speaker 2: fine to watch it at home. I understand they need
- 27:19Speaker 2: movie theater money because popcorn all of that shit theaters
- 27:21Speaker 2: and everything. But I wonder what Troll's World Tour did
- 27:25Speaker 2: for Joelle? Can we find that out?
- 27:28Speaker 1: I wonder if it's even I wonder if it's even published.
- 27:31Speaker 2: So seventy seven million Trolls World Tour did That's a lot.
- 27:35Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Yeah, well that would be. That would be you're saying,
- 27:38Speaker 1: is that the first weekend or is that total? No,
- 27:40Speaker 1: they wouldn't be freaking sorry, that'd be total. So when
- 27:42Speaker 1: you rent it, because I haven't done this yet, when
- 27:44Speaker 1: you rent with this new model where you rent the
- 27:46Speaker 1: movie for twenty four hour, what is what? What did
- 27:48Speaker 1: Trolls cost you?
- 27:50Speaker 3: Twenty bucks? Nineteen ninety nine something?
- 27:53Speaker 1: I love the two dads. No, they're like twenty bucks.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah please. I looked at my wife. I
- 27:57Speaker 3: was like, we're spending twenty bucks on this?
- 27:59Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, we'll several times.
- 28:02Speaker 1: To how much? Think how much money you've gotten off
- 28:06Speaker 1: the faisons because you guys are renting it multiple times.
- 28:09Speaker 2: But it would cost more if we went to the
- 28:11Speaker 2: movie theater though, because it would be yes, twenty bucks
- 28:14Speaker 2: each person you know what I mean.
- 28:15Speaker 3: And so, yeah, that's right.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Plus popcorn and all of that stuff. I don't know
- 28:19Speaker 2: if they get money for the popcorn, but I'm just saying.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I wonder if that's a newty.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Seven million is a lot of money to make online.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Dude, that's a new model. They've been talking about it.
- 28:27Speaker 3: I think it's it's an interesting way to go to.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Tell me what people are going to start doing. I
- 28:30Speaker 1: mean if because I don't you know, Spike Lee said
- 28:33Speaker 1: the other day he's not going to the theater until
- 28:35Speaker 1: there's a vaccine, and I was kind of like, yeah,
- 28:37Speaker 1: I think I might agree with that.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Yeah, that makes sense. I mean, my wife's not leaving
- 28:42Speaker 3: the house till there's a fucking vaccine, you know, And
- 28:46Speaker 3: that's your choice, right, It's yeah, sure, I have a
- 28:49Speaker 3: lot to do with that.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Donald, your wife is your wife more hardcore than you
- 28:54Speaker 1: about this? Because Donald's definitely more hardcore than his wife.
- 28:56Speaker 3: No, my wife is anxiety ridden about out everything. She
- 29:01Speaker 3: is terrified not just that we're going to get it,
- 29:04Speaker 3: but that we're all going to die from it when
- 29:06Speaker 3: we get it.
- 29:07Speaker 2: You know.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Mind you none of us have pre existing conditions. She
- 29:11Speaker 3: has made five hundred masks and donated them and given
- 29:14Speaker 3: them the friends. She is all over this, and I
- 29:17Speaker 3: still can't leave the house.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 29:21Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 29:22Speaker 2: My wife doesn't like me right now because I'm like, well,
- 29:24Speaker 2: maybe it started off like this. Maybe maybe in May, honey,
- 29:28Speaker 2: maybe no, maybe in May. Okay, we'll see about May,
- 29:33Speaker 2: and then May's come around. I'm like, okay, maybe June.
- 29:35Speaker 2: And she's like, June is here, motherfucker. Like listen July.
- 29:41Speaker 2: When July comes around, I promise you, baby, we're gonna
- 29:45Speaker 2: scope out the situation and if it's all good, then
- 29:48Speaker 2: we can go outside.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Well, Donald and I got invited to go on Now
- 29:51Speaker 1: there's this really popular YouTube show called Good Mythical Morning,
- 29:55Speaker 1: and it's a hugely successful show. They do it in
- 30:00Speaker 1: a normal time, to do it every excuse me, every morning,
- 30:02Speaker 1: and uh we got an invite to do it at
- 30:04Speaker 1: the end of July. And I was like, I think, like,
- 30:08Speaker 1: and you have to go in person. They're not doing
- 30:10Speaker 1: it on on on Zoom and I was like, I
- 30:12Speaker 1: think and we were just talking about this before the show,
- 30:14Speaker 1: like end of July, we could probably do that, right
- 30:17Speaker 1: and we don't know, I mean, we're both having the conversation,
- 30:19Speaker 1: but in our heads is like, are we gonna be
- 30:21Speaker 1: going to do a talk show end of July? Does
- 30:23Speaker 1: that seem like? Are we gonna wear masks? Like I
- 30:25Speaker 1: don't understand how it's.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Gonna talking face to face? Two.
- 30:30Speaker 3: I mean, you know, everybody's got an opinion. Mine is
- 30:33Speaker 3: I think it's gonna be okay. You know at a
- 30:35Speaker 3: certain point, don't don't you doesn't life have to go on?
- 30:39Speaker 3: I mean it does, and.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I know, but but but choosing you know, life will
- 30:43Speaker 1: go on, but choosing to go into like making choices
- 30:47Speaker 1: that are like I'm gonna go sit in a movie
- 30:48Speaker 1: theater with a bunch of people that might be coughing,
- 30:50Speaker 1: or I'm gonna go into a tight elevator or a restaurant.
- 30:53Speaker 1: I mean those choices. I don't know. I might, we
- 30:55Speaker 1: might hold hold off on those. We got to go
- 30:57Speaker 1: to a break because that's what we have to do,
- 30:59Speaker 1: because this is a real show that has breaks and
- 31:01Speaker 1: ads and ship Scott Fully, this isn't like a bullshit show.
- 31:04Speaker 1: This is a show breaks.
- 31:05Speaker 3: You guys have supporters, now, yeah we have.
- 31:07Speaker 1: And we have real fancy ones too. And here here's
- 31:11Speaker 1: some here's some of them are we'll be right, that
- 31:24Speaker 1: I that I doll that I hold off to see
- 31:27Speaker 1: who's gonna do it.
- 31:28Speaker 3: We're like that, shame you guys don't enjoy.
- 31:33Speaker 1: This because of the delay, nothing we ever do is
- 31:36Speaker 1: in sync. So we sometimes ask Dan to in post
- 31:38Speaker 1: to make it seem like we know how to sing
- 31:40Speaker 1: at the same time.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Thanks, Can you guys give me a minute to run
- 31:44Speaker 2: and grab my notes?
- 31:45Speaker 1: Yeah, but don't don't. Don't take a deuce, dude, we
- 31:47Speaker 1: got Scott Fully here.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Scott Fully I would never do on your time.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Okay, thank you.
- 31:55Speaker 3: His minute is the equivalent of him learning learning his
- 31:57Speaker 3: lines on scrubs.
- 31:58Speaker 1: This is glad. You know we talked a lot about this.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Will you please say that when he comes back.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Or not learning his lines, I should say he's going away.
- 32:08Speaker 1: He claims he's turned over a new leaf, but I
- 32:10Speaker 1: think that's just because he's worried that potential directors and
- 32:14Speaker 1: showrunners might be listening to the podcast and won't hire him.
- 32:17Speaker 1: So he has this whole thing where he says that
- 32:20Speaker 1: he's he's turned over a new leaf and now he
- 32:22Speaker 1: learns his lines.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Well, how it's a pandemic. That's his new leaf. There's
- 32:27Speaker 3: nothing to learn.
- 32:28Speaker 1: I know. He also said he quit weed, but I
- 32:30Speaker 1: think that I will ask him if that's if that's lasted.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Why is your wife's instagram handled the mean Chick? She
- 32:37Speaker 1: seems like such a nice person, does she. Well, I
- 32:41Speaker 1: don't know her that well, but every time I've hung
- 32:43Speaker 1: out with her, she seems delightful.
- 32:45Speaker 3: She is delightful her her. She's Polish and her last
- 32:48Speaker 3: name is Domin Chick or Domean Chick, which sounds like
- 32:52Speaker 3: the mean chick. So every time someone has has a
- 32:54Speaker 3: hard time pronouncing her name, she just says it sounds
- 32:56Speaker 3: like the mean chick.
- 32:57Speaker 2: So that's oh.
- 32:58Speaker 1: I thought there were I thought it was like a
- 32:59Speaker 1: thing like, look, you might think I'm nice, but I'm
- 33:02Speaker 1: a bitch.
- 33:03Speaker 3: No, no, no, she's She's an asshole.
- 33:05Speaker 2: But god, I love her.
- 33:07Speaker 1: And she had a good part on your show too,
- 33:09Speaker 1: didn't she. Yeah, Man, I forgot did she have a
- 33:13Speaker 1: recurring or something?
- 33:14Speaker 3: She had she had a recurring role. And that was
- 33:16Speaker 3: sort of one of the one of the caveats I
- 33:18Speaker 3: had when I was when I was talking about shooting
- 33:22Speaker 3: this show in Prague, you know, I was like, you
- 33:23Speaker 3: guys want me to move over to Prague for a year.
- 33:26Speaker 3: And I got a wife who's a working actress. I
- 33:29Speaker 3: got three kids, and I'm gonna put in school, like
- 33:30Speaker 3: I can't ask her to stop. And Bill was like,
- 33:32Speaker 3: she could be on the show.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Yeah, you know whatever. Bill's a good salesman. He's like,
- 33:36Speaker 1: I just I just discovered who our new recurring role is.
- 33:40Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, but that it was a It was
- 33:43Speaker 3: a It was a smart move on his part and
- 33:45Speaker 3: and ours. Actually, you know, shooting over in Prague was
- 33:49Speaker 3: obviously much better for the budget. The tax breaks and
- 33:52Speaker 3: the cost of doing business over there is substantially lower.
- 33:56Speaker 1: So and and just that production value. You know, there's
- 33:58Speaker 1: a shot in the pilot. By the way, if you
- 33:59Speaker 1: haven't see the show, go see it, even if you
- 34:01Speaker 1: just watch the pilot, because you'll be impressed by the
- 34:04Speaker 1: scope of the damn thing. I just couldn't. I thought
- 34:06Speaker 1: it was a pilot was really well done, and I
- 34:09Speaker 1: was I was gonna go direct one. I was sort
- 34:10Speaker 1: of intimidated. I was like, how many days you get
- 34:12Speaker 1: to shoot these episodes?
- 34:14Speaker 3: Because it was just we were so excited to have
- 34:15Speaker 3: you over there.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Man.
- 34:16Speaker 3: We were so bummed when it when it fell through,
- 34:18Speaker 3: and I know you got a big I.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Got a part in a good role in a movie
- 34:23Speaker 1: with Christopher Walking and my actor crush heart. Couldn't say
- 34:28Speaker 1: no to that. As much as I wanted to come
- 34:29Speaker 1: to Prague and Boss Scott Foley around the show, I
- 34:35Speaker 1: know she's that episode would have would have been the thing. No,
- 34:38Speaker 1: But I I I I can't wait to work with
- 34:40Speaker 1: you again because I think you're fantastic. Donald.
- 34:43Speaker 2: You're so amazing in this episode.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Man, Yeah, let's get into the episode. Let's get in
- 34:47Speaker 1: the episode. Yeah, it's a very good episode. You know
- 34:50Speaker 1: we Adam Bernstein directed it, who directed our pilot. We've
- 34:53Speaker 1: told you, and he's a very very funny talented guy,
- 34:56Speaker 1: Eric Er, very funny writer.
- 35:00Speaker 3: I played tennis with him after this episode.
- 35:02Speaker 1: You're a good tennis players and not a bit of
- 35:04Speaker 1: trivia about you.
- 35:05Speaker 3: That is a bit of trivia about me. I'm I
- 35:06Speaker 3: can hold my own. I'm not great, but I can.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Hold my own.
- 35:09Speaker 2: That's what college.
- 35:10Speaker 1: That's what people who are really good say to be modest.
- 35:12Speaker 1: You're really good. I think can you beat Bill? No? Yeah,
- 35:16Speaker 1: Bill's really good.
- 35:17Speaker 3: Bill's really good. Although although these days I don't know
- 35:19Speaker 3: he's gotten older.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Bill. You know, Bill and I we don't. We don't
- 35:24Speaker 1: play together because it's just not fun for for either
- 35:26Speaker 1: one of us. But we often hit. We've we've vacationed together,
- 35:31Speaker 1: and we would like each hit with a pro on
- 35:33Speaker 1: separate courts because I'm I just can just get by.
- 35:36Speaker 1: But I love it. And Bill's is like, you know,
- 35:38Speaker 1: played college, is really good. But he would play these
- 35:42Speaker 1: young pros and try his ass off to but he
- 35:45Speaker 1: would keep up with him. I mean, you know, it
- 35:46Speaker 1: was it was he was impressive.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Yeah, no, he's he's good. He and I have gone
- 35:50Speaker 3: out to hit a few times. And we have a
- 35:52Speaker 3: tennis program named Christian Kapolick who was a pro for
- 35:56Speaker 3: a while and and sort of hits with a bunch
- 35:58Speaker 3: of people around town and we both play with him.
- 36:00Speaker 3: But Bill's very talented, as by the way, getting back
- 36:03Speaker 3: to the episode, was mister Weinberg, he's a very good
- 36:05Speaker 3: tennis player.
- 36:07Speaker 1: I got to say that. What I want to start
- 36:09Speaker 1: to say is that you know, we're watching these episodes, Scott,
- 36:11Speaker 1: and they're all some of them are great and some
- 36:13Speaker 1: of them are just okay. As as happens when you
- 36:15Speaker 1: make one hundred and eighty two episodes of Something. I
- 36:18Speaker 1: have to say this one is particularly really.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Fucking funny one quite a few times.
- 36:24Speaker 1: I mean about a bunch. Not only do we have
- 36:27Speaker 1: Scott's wholet and Sarah's ark, which is hilarious, but the
- 36:30Speaker 1: janitor fucking with me and telling all my patients to
- 36:32Speaker 1: get sergerty. It's so funny.
- 36:35Speaker 3: And Donald hes to everybody. He talks to everybody was
- 36:39Speaker 3: in this episode he talks to e everybody.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I know Bill, you know, as you know, Bill has
- 36:45Speaker 1: held on to this, uh, this lure that in season
- 36:49Speaker 1: one the janitor only spoke to JD and and if
- 36:52Speaker 1: he was debating whether as we went forward, if if
- 36:55Speaker 1: the janitor would just be a figured in Jad's imagination.
- 36:57Speaker 2: This is where it went off the way.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I think episode he must have been like fucking
- 37:03Speaker 1: because the janitor tugs everybody.
- 37:05Speaker 3: J is, He's given advice, He's given medical advice to people.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that was really funny. Let's get into it. I'm
- 37:13Speaker 1: your bia very funny.
- 37:15Speaker 2: H Yeah, this was this is the beginning, well not
- 37:18Speaker 2: the beginning of Scrubs being a musical, because we had
- 37:21Speaker 2: Judy and Sam sing together. Yeah, but this is the
- 37:23Speaker 2: beginning of big product musical productions. Though in Scrub we're
- 37:26Speaker 2: all dancing in the hallway, Yeah, singing on a on
- 37:30Speaker 2: a made up uh pire escape.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Yeah. This was our homage to West Side Story, and
- 37:36Speaker 1: we clearly didn't have the rights because we're very clearly
- 37:38Speaker 1: tiptoeing around it being a West Side Story spoof. But
- 37:41Speaker 1: it is a West Side Story spoof.
- 37:43Speaker 3: I loved it. I love the musical theater references. I thought,
- 37:46Speaker 3: you know, I was, I was sitting there watching this
- 37:47Speaker 3: trying to think of the sort of the theme. And
- 37:49Speaker 3: you know, they talk about competition, but but whether it's
- 37:52Speaker 3: whether it's you, j D and Turk or Cox and Kelso,
- 37:58Speaker 3: like it's it's not necessarily competition, but there's a power
- 38:01Speaker 3: struggle happening here with all these characters, which was really
- 38:03Speaker 3: interesting to watch. And I thought the you know, we're
- 38:05Speaker 3: not obviously not there yet, but I thought that the resolution,
- 38:08Speaker 3: especially when it came to you guys a storyline, was
- 38:11Speaker 3: a great one.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, it is about. It's about I guess that's
- 38:15Speaker 1: the theme in the two main storyline. I mean not
- 38:18Speaker 1: the two main because you and Sarah one, the Cox
- 38:21Speaker 1: Kelso one, and the me Donald on is is competing
- 38:24Speaker 1: with your peers, And you're right, it is the first
- 38:26Speaker 1: time we get into all these games that Donald and
- 38:28Speaker 1: I would play over the years. Uh, these stupid, these
- 38:31Speaker 1: stupid little challenges. You know, what was the one with
- 38:34Speaker 1: hide the saltine and all the many things.
- 38:39Speaker 2: But this was the first tower finger.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 38:43Speaker 3: And they're all very They're all named in a very
- 38:46Speaker 3: Bill Lawrence way, you know, like steak is just called steak,
- 38:50Speaker 3: it's just but but even what Cox calls the nerve
- 38:53Speaker 3: coffee nurse like it. It's so simple the way Bill
- 38:56Speaker 3: names things.
- 38:57Speaker 1: And it's hilarious, by the way, a little bit of
- 38:58Speaker 1: trivia coffee nurs. I don't know if you know this
- 39:01Speaker 1: is uh, Matt Tarsus's beautiful wife, Katie Tarsus.
- 39:06Speaker 3: Matt, I didn't know that, Matt. I didn't you know
- 39:08Speaker 3: Matt Tarsis Scott fully, Yeah, I know Matt, but I
- 39:10Speaker 3: didn't know that was his wife.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Matt Tarsus Is was one of our great writers on
- 39:13Speaker 1: Scrubs and he created, along with me, are our ABC
- 39:17Speaker 1: show that didn't work Alex inc And uh, he's a
- 39:21Speaker 1: great human being and has a beautiful wife. And I
- 39:24Speaker 1: stopped and I was like, that's Katie Tarsus playing coffee nurse.
- 39:29Speaker 3: She was great.
- 39:30Speaker 1: And I texted and I said, your wife is so
- 39:33Speaker 1: beautiful in this episode and he said yes, And I said,
- 39:37Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say never mind what you got done,
- 39:44Speaker 1: you got anything else? This dude is fucking hilarious.
- 39:48Speaker 2: What's the name of the gentleman who played with Red Stoler?
- 39:51Speaker 1: Is his name?
- 39:53Speaker 2: So good?
- 39:53Speaker 1: This guy. I got to tell you, if you are
- 39:56Speaker 1: a director or a filmmaker or a showrunner, you need
- 39:59Speaker 1: to hire this guy because every sentence he said, I
- 40:01Speaker 1: laughed out loud.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Out loud. I remember laughing when we were making the
- 40:06Speaker 2: show and him doing this. The lines in the thing
- 40:09Speaker 2: the Chicken that he shit had me going for days.
- 40:13Speaker 1: He takes the funniest he takes the funniest stutter, and
- 40:16Speaker 1: I tried to write it down because the word what
- 40:17Speaker 1: he's trying to say is no, you said chicken. But
- 40:20Speaker 1: what it comes out is he goes, no, you chicken again,
- 40:24Speaker 1: and like, I don't know, you can't write that in
- 40:26Speaker 1: a script. That's just an actor coming up with something funny.
- 40:29Speaker 1: It was hilarious.
- 40:30Speaker 3: He's been around for years. He's that character actor guy
- 40:33Speaker 3: who just pops up and he slays every time you
- 40:36Speaker 3: see him. He's got such a dry sense of humor
- 40:38Speaker 3: that is innately watchable.
- 40:40Speaker 1: There is this there is this type of really funny actor.
- 40:44Speaker 1: They're often called character actors that like Fred that can
- 40:47Speaker 1: that and Bill would hire lots of them on the
- 40:49Speaker 1: show over the years, and he jokingly would call him
- 40:52Speaker 1: his assassins. And Bob Pundennen is another one. And they
- 40:55Speaker 1: would just come on and they would have like a
- 40:57Speaker 1: few lines, but everything they said was was and uh.
- 41:01Speaker 1: And I just want to say to Fred and anyone
- 41:03Speaker 1: who knows Fred, every single thing you said on this
- 41:06Speaker 1: episode made us laugh.
- 41:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he came back to later on, not you know,
- 41:11Speaker 2: seasons later. Actually I thought he would be somebody who
- 41:14Speaker 2: would come back into the hospital over and over again.
- 41:16Speaker 1: I think, yeah, when this was, when this episode was done,
- 41:19Speaker 1: I remember telling Bill like, you got to have that
- 41:20Speaker 1: guy back, you got to have him. Yeah, he should
- 41:22Speaker 1: be a regular. He's hilarious.
- 41:24Speaker 3: He was really funny. Yeah, I agree.
- 41:26Speaker 2: On the treadmill. Yeah, oh god, one, you look great.
- 41:32Speaker 2: You got that young you got that young body where
- 41:34Speaker 2: the shoulders haven't really caught up yet. You know what
- 41:39Speaker 2: I mean where they're like huge, your shoulders.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Like so high and everything.
- 41:42Speaker 2: You know what I'm talking about. When you're like a baby,
- 41:44Speaker 2: you know what you're talking about. You start growing lats
- 41:46Speaker 2: and ship Anyway, Uh, when making that the fall, was
- 41:50Speaker 2: that you? Or was that the same question asking you
- 41:53Speaker 2: to do it?
- 41:54Speaker 1: The fall was me? I was.
- 41:56Speaker 3: I was terrified about this. This was the scene in
- 41:59Speaker 3: the script that had me the most nervous, and for
- 42:02Speaker 3: ridiculous reasons, like there is something about watching people run
- 42:07Speaker 3: on screen that you can look the gate, your gate.
- 42:11Speaker 3: You can look like an idiot, or you can look okay.
- 42:13Speaker 3: You know, like if you you see people run on screen,
- 42:15Speaker 3: you're like, that's a weird run. That's it, and it's
- 42:18Speaker 3: it's quick and easy to judge. So I was very
- 42:20Speaker 3: nervous about that. But I also felt that the here
- 42:25Speaker 3: far be it for me to be a writer. But
- 42:26Speaker 3: I felt that the scene needed like a button at
- 42:30Speaker 3: the end. It didn't, It didn't come together quite right.
- 42:33Speaker 3: And I remember the first time I thought about doing it,
- 42:36Speaker 3: and in the scene I just halfway through the first take,
- 42:38Speaker 3: I decided to do it, and everyone flipped out, like
- 42:41Speaker 3: we didn't even like they're like are you okay? Oh
- 42:43Speaker 3: my god, what happened?
- 42:43Speaker 2: Guys?
- 42:44Speaker 3: Can we get a medican here?
- 42:44Speaker 1: Someone?
- 42:45Speaker 3: I was like, no, no, no, no, it was a bit.
- 42:47Speaker 1: It was a bit. Guy. That's pretty courageous of you
- 42:49Speaker 1: to do a unscheduled, almost proudfall on a treadmill running.
- 42:53Speaker 3: That's advanced, Scott, Thank you, my friend. Well, I pride
- 42:56Speaker 3: myself on physical comedy, although I never get to do it.
- 42:59Speaker 3: My wife sichem at home and my wife is sick
- 43:02Speaker 3: of it.
- 43:03Speaker 1: But it was.
- 43:03Speaker 3: It was Unfortunately they liked it after they calmed down
- 43:07Speaker 3: and I had to do it, you know, seven more times.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Right, Well, good thing you survived. I liked it because
- 43:13Speaker 1: you were such a good ying yang for Sarah, because
- 43:18Speaker 1: you're both sort of goofy and nervous and neurotic, and
- 43:23Speaker 1: it was just so she's doing all this ridiculous stuff
- 43:26Speaker 1: and you're seemingly holding it together and then she looks
- 43:29Speaker 1: away and you trip on the treadmill. I thought that
- 43:31Speaker 1: was really funny.
- 43:32Speaker 3: Thanks man.
- 43:33Speaker 2: It was.
- 43:34Speaker 3: You know, finding it's always a hard thing when you
- 43:36Speaker 3: first come onto a show. Even even though you guys
- 43:38Speaker 3: were in your first season. This is the twentieth episode,
- 43:41Speaker 3: so to try to establish a character amongst all these
- 43:44Speaker 3: other characters is a really hard thing to do. And
- 43:46Speaker 3: Sarah and I talked about it a bit, and you know,
- 43:49Speaker 3: I think what we came up with for Sean and
- 43:52Speaker 3: worked ultimately. You know, he got a little more confident
- 43:55Speaker 3: as the show went on and his episodes got there.
- 43:58Speaker 3: But it was fun playing this sort of nervous, neurotic,
- 44:02Speaker 3: uh somewhat insecure kid. It was really interesting.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Yeah, you're your your character arc throughout the show is
- 44:10Speaker 2: it's really it's very interesting because you do start off,
- 44:13Speaker 2: you and Sarah are pretty much the same character. You're
- 44:15Speaker 2: just the male version of her. And then all of
- 44:17Speaker 2: a sudden you develop this confidence, right, and then you
- 44:21Speaker 2: lose this confidence all of a sudden when she breaks
- 44:23Speaker 2: up with you out of nowhere, you know, when you
- 44:25Speaker 2: grow the beard and.
- 44:28Speaker 1: And and he for learnedly rides a dolphin.
- 44:32Speaker 3: They had me doing some strange things, which I hope
- 44:34Speaker 3: we get to talk about in future episodes. Look at
- 44:36Speaker 3: where I am inviting myself over.
- 44:38Speaker 1: You know, absolutely, Scott, you are so good for our
- 44:43Speaker 1: ratings that we are to have you back. I hope
- 44:47Speaker 1: you'll come back on episodes.
- 44:47Speaker 3: You have nothing to do with I would love to
- 44:50Speaker 3: just to make fun of people.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Know, we're already you're you're, we're already inviting you back
- 44:54Speaker 1: because we have to talk about SeaWorld.
- 44:56Speaker 2: Uh and uh oh yeah.
- 44:58Speaker 1: I would like to say that I know younger support SeaWorld,
- 45:01Speaker 1: but at the time we were happy to go to
- 45:02Speaker 1: the Sea World.
- 45:03Speaker 2: I remember being so pissed off because I couldn't go.
- 45:06Speaker 2: None of my scenes were at Sea World, not so
- 45:08Speaker 2: let me run straight. Let me get this straight. Y'all
- 45:10Speaker 2: are all gone to San Diego to hang out for
- 45:12Speaker 2: a night in San Diego and ride dolphins and I
- 45:16Speaker 2: gotta stay back at the mofucking hospital was I was
- 45:19Speaker 2: so pissed.
- 45:20Speaker 1: It was so fun. But this was all before we
- 45:22Speaker 1: all saw the documentary Blackfish.
- 45:24Speaker 3: And yes, and now we don't. We don't go there anymore.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Now we we encourage people to not go there anymore.
- 45:30Speaker 1: But before we were.
- 45:31Speaker 5: All, before we knew, before we knew, before we were
- 45:36Speaker 5: animal woke and Scott, you you did get to forlornly
- 45:39Speaker 5: ride a dolphin, which is one of the coolest things
- 45:41Speaker 5: anyone could ever do in their career.
- 45:43Speaker 3: The things that I got to do on this show
- 45:46Speaker 3: were still some of the highlights of my career. I mean,
- 45:50Speaker 3: between riding on the dolphin, doing this Betty the seal bit.
- 45:55Speaker 3: I don't know if you remember this, but I had
- 45:56Speaker 3: like a phone call with Sarah and I turned my
- 45:59Speaker 3: head in this steal turns his head towards me, and
- 46:01Speaker 3: I look away like it sticks its tongue out of me.
- 46:03Speaker 3: I got to be like a like damn close to
- 46:06Speaker 3: a killer whale and a bluga whale, and it was
- 46:09Speaker 3: a it was a really amazing experience, and I'll never
- 46:11Speaker 3: forget it.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Think how sad that whale was, Scott while you were
- 46:14Speaker 1: acting with it.
- 46:15Speaker 3: I had no idea. It didn't let on, you're.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Gonna get mail for that one.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Scott's I had no idea. I did not know.
- 46:29Speaker 3: I didn't say a damn thing.
- 46:31Speaker 1: I would have been.
- 46:31Speaker 3: I would have had his bad Listen.
- 46:32Speaker 1: We're trying to buy it back with some karma now
- 46:35Speaker 1: by saying don't support it any longer. So there you go.
- 46:38Speaker 2: There you go, boy.
- 46:39Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about let's talk about when he goes.
- 46:43Speaker 1: I love when he goes what are you eight eleven?
- 46:46Speaker 4: With?
- 46:46Speaker 1: With with Hoffner, I go, he goes, what are you
- 46:49Speaker 1: serving for dinner? The night, and I go, that's that's
- 46:51Speaker 1: not really my area. He goes, I'd like chicken.
- 46:58Speaker 2: That guy was great.
- 46:58Speaker 1: He just chicken, chicken, chicken.
- 47:04Speaker 3: So I was I don't know where. I don't know
- 47:07Speaker 3: where in the show that is, But I want to
- 47:08Speaker 3: talk for a second about you two singing on the
- 47:12Speaker 3: fire escape. Yeah, which was a I loved it, and
- 47:16Speaker 3: I loved the musical theater references, and those are something
- 47:19Speaker 3: that find a home throughout the life of this television show.
- 47:24Speaker 3: But the smile that you had on your face, Zach,
- 47:27Speaker 3: we were unable to hide made me rewind it two
- 47:31Speaker 3: or three times to be like, is he just smiling
- 47:33Speaker 3: because he's singing?
- 47:34Speaker 1: Or no, no, no, he can't hold back his laugher Scott,
- 47:37Speaker 1: I had a Phantom of the opera beach towel hung
- 47:40Speaker 1: on my wall as a child.
- 47:42Speaker 3: I'm very aware this was me living my best life.
- 47:45Speaker 3: It was your Seinfeld moment. Someone your Seinfeld moment, unable
- 47:49Speaker 3: to hide your smile.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Someone was paying me well to hold donald and sing
- 47:54Speaker 1: musical theater to him. I was like, how could life
- 47:57Speaker 1: get better than this?
- 47:58Speaker 3: It was fantastic, and I appreciated you not being able
- 48:02Speaker 3: to contain your Life show.
- 48:03Speaker 1: Getting a getting a lead in a TV show was
- 48:06Speaker 1: was enough. Now you're letting me sing a love song
- 48:09Speaker 1: to Donald on a fire escape. Come on.
- 48:12Speaker 3: It was great. And by the way, the way you
- 48:14Speaker 3: guys did the dancing in the hallway, everybody looked professional
- 48:20Speaker 3: was going far.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Everyone well, obviously everyone that wasn't the lead was a
- 48:24Speaker 1: dancer and.
- 48:27Speaker 2: The best I've ever seen Sarah dance. Also to me to.
- 48:30Speaker 1: Sarah can dance, Sarah, she can't sing, but she can dance.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Dude. She was on fire and this ship, dude, like
- 48:36Speaker 2: I've seen Sarah dance, and Sarah dances like you know,
- 48:39Speaker 2: Sarah Dan, I'm not gonna do. She knows. Sarah dances
- 48:43Speaker 2: like she dances.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Well, she knows her. She has her little thing she does,
- 48:46Speaker 1: which was agnorable. But she she was doing like full
- 48:49Speaker 1: on you know, Broadway choreography.
- 48:52Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, yes he was. But Rob Mashio, Rob Mascio,
- 48:58Speaker 2: did you know? I wonder if Rob Maschio ever did
- 49:01Speaker 2: musical theater. I bet he did. I bet he did.
- 49:04Speaker 1: We should have a section where we go to Rob.
- 49:05Speaker 2: This is a Bill Lawrence question.
- 49:07Speaker 1: No, we should go to Rob. And now we go
- 49:09Speaker 1: to Rob.
- 49:10Speaker 3: No, he's like a correspondent.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Rob. Yeah, going to Rob live. Rob is a very
- 49:15Speaker 1: successful realtor now at the beach. Scott. I don't know
- 49:18Speaker 1: if you know that. So when you're ready to buy
- 49:19Speaker 1: your beach house, you better use Rob Mashio.
- 49:22Speaker 3: I'm not going to be ready to buy my beach
- 49:23Speaker 3: house for a while, well one, but I'll use him
- 49:26Speaker 3: when I do.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Yes, I encourage anyone. We always like to give Rob
- 49:29Speaker 1: shout outs. You can get Rob on cameo and you
- 49:31Speaker 1: can pay him a nominal fee to send you a
- 49:34Speaker 1: video where he high fives your friends. So go on
- 49:36Speaker 1: cameo and hire Rob Mashio. And of course, if you're
- 49:39Speaker 1: looking for real estate on the West side of Los Angeles,
- 49:41Speaker 1: we encourage you to hire him.
- 49:44Speaker 3: I'd like to go on cameo and have him and
- 49:46Speaker 3: pay him whatever it costs just to watch him run line.
- 49:54Speaker 1: By the way, Scott, I'm going to I don't know
- 49:56Speaker 1: what's your birthday, I'm going to send you a cameo
- 49:59Speaker 1: from Rob.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Oh, that's great.
- 50:00Speaker 3: July fifteenth, that's coming on, it's coming up.
- 50:03Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I.
- 50:04Speaker 1: Hope Rob will give it to me for free, but
- 50:06Speaker 1: if not, I'm willing no, no, no cameo makes your pay. Okay,
- 50:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna donald. Don't you think we should hire Rob
- 50:13Speaker 1: to give sent Scott Follio a high five cameo?
- 50:16Speaker 2: I think that would be the best thing ever. And
- 50:17Speaker 2: if you have to share it too, you.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Know you can get Really my brother loves baseball more
- 50:21Speaker 1: than anything, and they have like old school you know,
- 50:24Speaker 1: they have sports players. Is that what you call them? Sports?
- 50:26Speaker 1: Sports players? Sports people? Sure, athletes, Yes, they have athletes, athletes,
- 50:30Speaker 1: sports players. They have famous sports players and uh and.
- 50:40Speaker 3: Ball and bad guys.
- 50:42Speaker 1: But some of them are like I don't know if
- 50:43Speaker 1: you like Lenny Dykestrong. Don't if you've heard Lenny Dykstraw
- 50:45Speaker 1: starring lately, but he's you know, he's gotten a little wacky.
- 50:48Speaker 1: And I was thinking about getting Leny Dyster from my
- 50:50Speaker 1: brother to like send him a message.
- 50:52Speaker 3: Are you guys on that you do cameo?
- 50:54Speaker 1: I'm not on there, but I I occasionally scroll it
- 50:57Speaker 1: because there's some people that I think would be very
- 51:00Speaker 1: funny to hire for other people. Yeah, and uh, and
- 51:04Speaker 1: so I've I've thought about it, but uh, like, like
- 51:07Speaker 1: I saw Olivia Wilde I follow on Instagram and I'm
- 51:09Speaker 1: friends with her, and she she loved that that documentary Cheer.
- 51:12Speaker 1: I don't know if you saw Cheer, yes, but one
- 51:15Speaker 1: of her friends hired all the kids, all the kids
- 51:17Speaker 1: from Cheer are on there, hired every single one of
- 51:19Speaker 1: them to send her birthday messages, and so for her
- 51:22Speaker 1: feed on her birthday was all the kids from Cheers
- 51:25Speaker 1: sending your birthday messages. I thought that was that's so cool.
- 51:27Speaker 3: That's a great idea.
- 51:28Speaker 1: So there you go, gift, it's a great gift idea.
- 51:31Speaker 1: There you go, I'm giving. I'm giving Cameo a shout out.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Although Donald and I are not on there.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Have you guys, Have you guys ever met anyone that's
- 51:38Speaker 2: as competitive as these guys are on the show that
- 51:41Speaker 2: just you know, uh, you are competent. You think I'm competitive?
- 51:46Speaker 1: No, not in life, but sports wise, you are when
- 51:48Speaker 1: it comes to when you were in the day.
- 51:50Speaker 2: When it comes to playing sports against anyone, absolutely, regardless
- 51:53Speaker 2: of what it is, I want to win your absolutely.
- 51:55Speaker 2: By wait, I don't know if you know anybody in
- 51:57Speaker 2: life that's like that, other than Bill Lawrence. I was
- 51:59Speaker 2: gonna say Bil Laura, but other than Bill Lawrence.
- 52:01Speaker 1: Hill is the most competitive person I know in real life.
- 52:04Speaker 2: Where you where it's like, you can't walk, don't walk
- 52:06Speaker 2: faster than him, He's gonna think it's a race.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Yeah, this is probably why it's in the scripts, because.
- 52:14Speaker 3: I have a funny Bill Lawrence walking story. We were
- 52:16Speaker 3: in We took a trip from Probue when we were
- 52:18Speaker 3: shooting Whiskey Cavalier over to Amsterdam. And if you guys
- 52:20Speaker 3: have never been there, it's a huge bicycle culture, right,
- 52:24Speaker 3: Everyone rides bikes around. So we're walking down the sidewalks
- 52:27Speaker 3: and wherever you wherever you are, you're inundated with these
- 52:31Speaker 3: bicycle bells ringing constantly telling you to get out of
- 52:34Speaker 3: the way, and you don't know where they're coming from,
- 52:36Speaker 3: and you're looking behind you and you're always stepping off
- 52:39Speaker 3: trying to get out of the way. And we were
- 52:40Speaker 3: walking down and there was nobody around us. It had
- 52:43Speaker 3: to be two in the morning. We've just seen a
- 52:46Speaker 3: raiding concert in Amsterdam.
- 52:50Speaker 2: Every show episode.
- 52:53Speaker 3: Shout out my wife was he you know, Bill was like,
- 52:55Speaker 3: we're gonna go fly to Amsterdam and go see him.
- 52:57Speaker 3: And he does this song and my wife is like,
- 52:59Speaker 3: oh my god, yes to sing only you. So of
- 53:01Speaker 3: course in the middle of this thing, He's like and
- 53:02Speaker 3: for Marika, only you, and she's like tearing up. I'm like,
- 53:07Speaker 3: I think he's making fun of you.
- 53:08Speaker 2: Baby.
- 53:09Speaker 3: He doesn't want to sing the song. But we're we're
- 53:11Speaker 3: walking back to the hotel and there's you know, it's dead,
- 53:14Speaker 3: it's two in the morning, and there are all these
- 53:17Speaker 3: bikes parked along. Nobody's riding bikes, but they're all sort
- 53:20Speaker 3: of chained up along the sidewalk and we're walking. Bill's
- 53:22Speaker 3: a couple uh steps ahead of me and I ring
- 53:26Speaker 3: one of these locked up bikes bells. He damn near
- 53:30Speaker 3: went to his knees.
- 53:30Speaker 1: He was so afraid.
- 53:31Speaker 3: He was such a PTSD. I've never seen Bill.
- 53:35Speaker 2: Like oh God like he he.
- 53:36Speaker 3: I don't think he'll ever go back to Amsterdam, because.
- 53:41Speaker 2: All right, we went to Amsterdam together.
- 53:43Speaker 1: Yeah, Donald and I went to Amscham together.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Oh that was dangerous.
- 53:46Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know if we can tell any of
- 53:48Speaker 1: those stories.
- 53:49Speaker 2: I don't think we can.
- 53:50Speaker 1: I know they want to hear it. We had some
- 53:53Speaker 1: good time in Amstam.
- 53:54Speaker 2: Did you guys have a good time in Amsterdam? It
- 53:56Speaker 2: was the best, the best, Yeah, I mean it wasn't.
- 54:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it wasn't like that kind of good time because
- 54:03Speaker 3: we were sort of was with work people, I know,
- 54:06Speaker 3: but it was that kind of good time.
- 54:08Speaker 1: He tried God's let Us and it was delicious.
- 54:11Speaker 3: Oh Jesus, you didn't have one of those what are those?
- 54:14Speaker 1: What? This was before God's let us? This is before
- 54:16Speaker 1: God's let Us was legal in California. We were really Yeah,
- 54:20Speaker 1: they really like it over there, you know.
- 54:22Speaker 3: Now we had it was a moon pie or there's
- 54:24Speaker 3: something like that over there that you eat and it
- 54:26Speaker 3: just wrecks you.
- 54:28Speaker 4: Oh.
- 54:28Speaker 2: I wish, I mean, I wish I would have known.
- 54:33Speaker 1: Guys, this is a real show. Now we're not just
- 54:35Speaker 1: two guys doing this out of their closets. We have
- 54:37Speaker 1: to go to advertisers. Will be right, We'll be right back.
- 54:43Speaker 1: We're back. I'm looking at I'm looking at both Scott
- 54:50Speaker 1: Fully and Donald Faison in their closets. Scott's has to
- 54:53Speaker 1: continually wave his arm to make his lights go. I
- 54:56Speaker 1: wish we were recording the video of this, because it
- 54:58Speaker 1: would be the light.
- 55:00Speaker 2: We'll start putting them out. We'll start putting one, all right,
- 55:05Speaker 2: bring them in.
- 55:05Speaker 1: Joelle and uh Dana just the mic for Donald's Oprah
- 55:09Speaker 1: introduction because you know it can get loud.
- 55:12Speaker 2: Donald, please adjust your mic for the Okay, I'll back
- 55:15Speaker 2: up a little bit.
- 55:16Speaker 1: It's okay. Worried about it. No, he's ready. He's a professional.
- 55:19Speaker 2: Donald.
- 55:20Speaker 1: Here comes Jenny.
- 55:21Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Jenny Pulston.
- 55:26Speaker 1: I think it's Puleston. Is it Puleston?
- 55:27Speaker 3: Jenny, Yes, that's correct, that's what I said.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Hi, Jenny, welcome to Fake Doctor's Real Friends. You picked
- 55:39Speaker 1: a very good day to beyond because we have a
- 55:42Speaker 1: very funny and handsome guest named Scott Foley. You might
- 55:44Speaker 1: know him from the show Scandal, Felicity, Whiskey, Fox Trot,
- 55:50Speaker 1: Scrub Whiskey Cavalier. Hy Jenny, Sorry, Scott, Scott. Scott, Scott,
- 56:00Speaker 1: do not flirt with Jenny. Okay, this is our God.
- 56:03Speaker 3: She's there, got all the flags behind her. She looks fantastic.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Jenny, are you where are you calling in from?
- 56:08Speaker 3: So?
- 56:08Speaker 6: I live in Canberra, Australia. Canberra is the capital city
- 56:11Speaker 6: of my fine country on.
- 56:13Speaker 3: The West Coast.
- 56:14Speaker 2: Yes it is, Scott.
- 56:16Speaker 1: Scott's showing off that he knows it's on the West Coast.
- 56:18Speaker 3: I lived in Australia Jenny, I know what I'm talking about.
- 56:21Speaker 2: Wait, when did you live in Australia as a kid.
- 56:24Speaker 3: I lived in Sydney for four years and snives Sydney.
- 56:28Speaker 2: Wow is it near?
- 56:29Speaker 1: Is it near Perth?
- 56:32Speaker 3: No?
- 56:32Speaker 2: Okay Jesus, but it's near Melbourne.
- 56:36Speaker 3: No, well, Sydney is near Melbourne closer.
- 56:38Speaker 1: But no, it's on the west coast of Australia. This
- 56:40Speaker 1: is so embarrassing. I want I want everyone to know
- 56:43Speaker 1: that the American public school system spends very little time
- 56:45Speaker 1: on geography. I think it was like two weeks in
- 56:47Speaker 1: seventh grade or Australia. Yes, yes, Jenny, thank you for
- 56:55Speaker 1: coming on the show. Do you have a question for
- 56:57Speaker 1: any of us? You can ask us anything, ask us anything.
- 57:01Speaker 6: Yeah, I just wanted to say I started watching your
- 57:04Speaker 6: show when I was in my early twenties, like you
- 57:07Speaker 6: guys were, and it really resonated with me. Then I
- 57:11Speaker 6: just started my career. I had a mentor you know,
- 57:15Speaker 6: learning to do things on your own without a safety net.
- 57:18Speaker 6: And then I watched the series again a few years
- 57:20Speaker 6: later when I had my children and they were babies
- 57:23Speaker 6: and I was up at the night, I put it
- 57:24Speaker 6: on and certain episodes resonated in a different way because
- 57:29Speaker 6: I a parent and researched every school holidays and there's
- 57:34Speaker 6: something new that pops up that's, you know, based on
- 57:38Speaker 6: an experience that I've just had. It just makes me
- 57:41Speaker 6: think of, you know, something different. So I just wanted
- 57:43Speaker 6: to know, with your experience of the last twenty years,
- 57:48Speaker 6: what advice would you give to your younger selves?
- 57:51Speaker 4: Now?
- 57:53Speaker 2: Oh man, you mean? I mean?
- 57:54Speaker 1: I says real people are our characters. Yeah, no people, oh,
- 57:58Speaker 1: real people.
- 58:00Speaker 2: While while making the show, I wish I could have
- 58:02Speaker 2: been more present, you know what I mean. I hate
- 58:04Speaker 2: to jump in front of you, Scott, but I got
- 58:05Speaker 2: to get to this right away. Yeah, I was so
- 58:11Speaker 2: not there. Let's say, when we were making that, I
- 58:15Speaker 2: was very much worried about being out and about I
- 58:18Speaker 2: was more interested in what came with what came after
- 58:23Speaker 2: work than what came with work back when we were
- 58:26Speaker 2: making Scrubs, and I wish I could have been more
- 58:29Speaker 2: present at when it came to doing my job back then.
- 58:34Speaker 2: That's the one thing that I look back and say,
- 58:36Speaker 2: you know what, I know, I know I had fun,
- 58:38Speaker 2: and I know I enjoyed myself. I wish I could
- 58:40Speaker 2: have experienced all of that while making it.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Yeah, my reaction is similar in a sense that you know,
- 58:46Speaker 1: I think we took it for granted that this would
- 58:48Speaker 1: happen all the time. That is to say that, you know,
- 58:51Speaker 1: we've spoken this on other podcasts before, that these really
- 58:54Speaker 1: special friendships would would be on every job we did.
- 58:58Speaker 3: And and.
- 59:00Speaker 1: I think, and we've discussed before, you know how we've
- 59:04Speaker 1: all gone on and done these other jobs and some
- 59:06Speaker 1: some are successful, some or not, but still to this day,
- 59:10Speaker 1: the bond that we all had that comes across on
- 59:13Speaker 1: the screen. I think it's the reason people really. One
- 59:15Speaker 1: of the reasons, of course, the writing first and foremost,
- 59:18Speaker 1: but another reason was that the love that you see
- 59:21Speaker 1: between these characters was real.
- 59:23Speaker 3: It was.
- 59:25Speaker 1: We're watching people who genuinely cared as much about each
- 59:29Speaker 1: other in real life as they did as the characters
- 59:32Speaker 1: did on screen. So I think that I think I
- 59:35Speaker 1: took that for granted. I was a young actor. This
- 59:37Speaker 1: is my first big job, and I thought, oh, this
- 59:40Speaker 1: is what it's always like to be on a set.
- 59:42Speaker 1: Everyone loves each other, everyone wants to hang out on
- 59:45Speaker 1: weekends even after we've worked all these days, and oh
- 59:47Speaker 1: my god, the scripts are always hilarious, and it took
- 59:51Speaker 1: so many years to be like, oh no, this is
- 59:53Speaker 1: a diamond in the rough. Not only the writing staff
- 59:57Speaker 1: that Bill assembled was just the dream team. I mean,
- 59:59Speaker 1: they've all gone off to be here, usually successful on
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: their own right, but but also just the bond that
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: that the seven main characters of us had was something
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: I haven't really ever seen again, whether I'm an actor
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: or a director. It's just it was just so rare.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: So that's what I think too. It's a similar answer
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: to Donald.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: Now Scott's been on three, in my opinion, three very
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: successful shows. I'm interested to hear how.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: He might not. He might not have an answer related
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: to ours, though not to ours.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: But yeah, but I'm interested in hearing if it was
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: like that for each one of those successes, you know
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: what I mean, like Felicity, you know.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: I think, just directly answering your question, I think I
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: for me, looking back, if I had to do it again,
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: I would I would try to relax. I think I
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: was holding on really tight. It was very important to me.
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: I didn't I didn't go to college, I didn't want
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: to do anything else. This was my only shot. Really,
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: like if I wasn't going to be a working actor,
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: be digging holes. You know, I don't know what else
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: I'd do, So I was. I was really uptight and
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: nervous about making sure I got it right and and
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: really focused on work. And I think I h if
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: I had to do it again, I'd take a breather
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: and be more like Donald, but not not that far.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Not that far, but you know what I mean, Like
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: we were.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: I was young and wanted to be successful and was
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: working towards a goal. But you know, at a certain
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: point you got to sort of stop and smell the
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: flowers too.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Did you guys all get along on Scandal?
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: We did?
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: You know?
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: I was hoping that I was hoping to get some
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: clickbait going, here's gotting.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: No, man, I've been I was looking for ever since
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: I'd done Scrubs. I was looking for a show that
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: had a similar vibe, a similar friendship, not just in
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: front of the camera but behind it. And I found
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: it on Scandal, and we still keep in touch. I
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: get texts where I have a group chain, group text chain,
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: I get something multiple things daily. Uh, we vacation together?
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Could I join that?
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: Texts Scott, if you have something to offer i'd love
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: I do.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: You know I have a long history with Tony Goldman
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: and I know you do, yes, And I'm I love
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: that man a lot. And he directed a movie I
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: was in called The Last Kiss, and we've stayed friendly
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: over the years, and I just think he's a very
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: very special human being. I wish he was the real Press.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: I wish he was the real President.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: I think we all wish someone else was the real
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: president right now. Sorry, Jenny, that's not what you're right,
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: that's what you're getting.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: You don't have to bring an Australian into our political situation. Jenny,
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: Do you have another question for any of us?
- 1:02:37Speaker 6: Yes, I do, because I want to look at for
- 1:02:39Speaker 6: my fellow Australians. I just want to ask, why do
- 1:02:42Speaker 6: you think doctor Cox takes two Jackmans.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: You know, this is a question that's been asked so
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: often and we never answered it. I think we're going
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: to throw it to Bill. But my theory is that Cox,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: who was such an alpha competitive guy, was jealous because
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: at the time Hugh Jackman when we were making the show.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: It was right at the time with Hugh Jackman exploding
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: and becoming a megastar who was not just your average megastar.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: He was doing everything. He could see it.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: Everything he could see it.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: He could dance, he could host award shows, he could
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: be an action star, he could be a dramatic star.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: He was you know, it was he was everywhere and
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: he was doing everything, and everyone liked him. It wasn't
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: like you know, a lot of stars become polarizing. He
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: wasn't everybody. Everybody loved him.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: This dude could this dude could host the Tony's and
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: then stamp somebody up as Wolverine Man.
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: It was like it was like just.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: One eight.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: So I think, Jenny, that's my guess is that Cox
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: was the character of Cox was jealous of this handsome,
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: you know, muscular man who could do anything and everything
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: and people just loved him and adored him, and so
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: he was jealous of him. But let's ask Bill. That's
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: a good ask Bill, Bill. The fans have been asking
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: for many years, and now a very nice woman from
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Australia has asked, and we just have to get the answer.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Why does doctor Cox hate Hugh Jackman so much?
- 1:04:04Speaker 7: Look, we love Hugh Jackman. When we were trying to
- 1:04:07Speaker 7: come up with who doctor Cox hated, for no reason.
- 1:04:10Speaker 7: I think we thought it was important that we came
- 1:04:12Speaker 7: up with somebody that everybody loved and that could do everything.
- 1:04:15Speaker 7: I mean, who has anything against Hugh Jackman.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: He's Wolverine.
- 1:04:18Speaker 7: You know, he's in action movies.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: He's apparently a lovely guy.
- 1:04:23Speaker 7: He's handsome, he's like People Magazine's sexiest person. He can sing,
- 1:04:28Speaker 7: he can dance, you know, five six seven eight, slid
- 1:04:32Speaker 7: that one in. He starred in the music Man on Broadway,
- 1:04:36Speaker 7: and that Peter Allen thing. He's just too damn talented.
- 1:04:42Speaker 7: My buddy Scott Foley, is there, Scott torture them, Jenny.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: I hope that worked for you.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Yes, five six seven eight? No, no, no, no, you
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: know what, most people only Bill usually gets the song
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: when he says it. But because Scott so darn charming,
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: Dan hit the button.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: Again, they couldn't control them.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Let me control, Let me control my own tiny little universe.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: Please, Jenny, I'm going to give you one more question.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: Third question, Uh yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:20Speaker 6: My other question was what was your proudest moment from
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: being on the show. You're proud of performance?
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Oh wow, I really enjoyed doing the musical theater. Uh,
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: the the musical episode I had a lot of fun
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: doing that. Growing up, I did a lot of musical theater,
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: but not at that scope or that level. And a
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: lot of the people that you know, we're in scrubs
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: the musical I saw later on in La La Land
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: or whatever, and that made me feel really good. Like,
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: you know, I danced with some of the some of
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: LA's best dancers and stuff like that, and got to
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: perform with some of LA's best and you know, as
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: you know, anybody comes here to make it in the industry,
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: and it felt good to be amongst Hollywood's elite dancers
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: and being able to dance with them. I really enjoyed that.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: I'm very proud that I'm going to do that.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I'm proud of that episode too, And
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: also I'm really proud of you know, it was a
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: really underappreciated thing. But we did this sort of Princess
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: Briane homage episode that was the fantasies and sort of
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: a medieval thing, and it kind of it was I
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: believe it was during the Ryer strike season and the
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: season ended early and we didn't know if the show
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: was coming back, and it was. It was sort of
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: presented as the season finale and possibly a series finale,
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: because no one knew if we were coming back, and
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: so it kind of got treated like, oh, what does
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: that have to do with Scrubs or ending the show?
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: And but I really am proud of the directing work
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: I did on it, and uh, and I think it
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: looks really pretty and and it was a huge scale
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: for for some scope was huge.
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it was.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: It was big, and we spent a lot of money
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: and I think it looked like it and a lot
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: of people worked very hard on it. And then it
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: sort of got underappreciated because people were like, please tell me,
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: that's not the series finale, and I was like, no
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: one meant that that was the series finale. But I
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: thought that was good.
- 1:07:16Speaker 6: Yeah, I love that episode.
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: I remember, thank you, thank you, Jenny. All Right, we
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: have to to move on, but thank you so much
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: for coming on the show, Scott, do you want to
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: say anything Jenny? Thank her for coming on.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: I'd like to thank you for coming on the show too, Jenny.
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: I hope forgive me for getting into this, but I
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: hope everything's everyone's okay now that you guys have those
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: terrible fires and we were all sort of thinking about
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: you over over on the side of the world. So
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: I'm glad you guys are better.
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: Yeah, it's been a big, very difficult year, but yeah,
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: we're all getting there.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: Scott's message was nicer than mine, so I would like
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: to say that I hope everything's okay.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: Nobody cares.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: Nobody cares.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: That's what we called a callback choke. Everybody, all right?
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Thank you, Jenny, thanks yanks much. Very sweet, very very sweet.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: Yo. J D is a rat. Hold up, let's get
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: into this. JD is a little beach. He's a rat.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: He is a rat. D.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: I tell you though, how funny is that fantasy with
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: me on Johnny's lap?
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: It's very golly.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: But you are a blue hat. He goes, Who's he goes,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: who's my big boy? Hi? Yeah?
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: That was great.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: I love that. I love that. They they show you
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: the two the two sides of you know, when something
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: bad happens, they show you the two sides. They show
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: you the one that runs right to the principle and
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: it's like and and cries to the principal. Oh yeah,
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: and he did this. And then they showed the other
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: person who runs to the principal and freaking tells the
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: principal off John C's character. Cox is the dad that
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: goes to the school and beats up the bully for
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: fucking with his kid. You know what I mean, twelve
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: year old boy fucking with his son. Oh, you're gonna
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: touch my son like that? How about this? Go tell
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: your dad, don't tell your dad that doctor Cox smack
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: the shit out of you. And it goes it goes south.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: But it was very interesting to watch the two dynamics,
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: like one guy, one guy is a complete rat.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and the other funny. I didn't even see that.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: I didn't even see that interpretation of it. But that's
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: smart that that is exactly what happens. It's it's the
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: two sides of a coin of how you deal with
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: the situation.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway, why.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: Would why would Turk even promise to side with me?
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: I mean, he's a really good doctor. We know that
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: he's not gonna go not not It's almost ridiculous that
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: he would even say, Yeah, don't worry, ILL back you up.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: He's gonna come in and give his honest analysis.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: Right. Well, I think he was. I think Turk was trusting, Uh,
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: the fact that you had done your job and you know,
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: you were literally calling him in for a favor. Yo,
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: just just tell this dude that he doesn't have anything
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: to worry about. And then when Turk looked at it
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: like bullshit, wait, hold on, hold on, wait right, you
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: gotta you got I look at it like, you know,
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: if there's any if there's a slight chance that Turk
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: gets the opportunity to operate, he's gonna say, yeah, I'm
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: gonna operate, right.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: I mean, I think that's a real thing. Obviously taken
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: from Obviously this is all inspired by what we were
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: told by real doctors, that the surgeons are more apt
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: to be like let's cut him up.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: Yeah, let's get it out, let's do it.
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: Let's do our let's do our thing. And I love
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: uh at twelve fifteen when when when the janitor is
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: giving my patient advice and he's like, I'm gonna go
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: with surgery, and I go, he's a janitor and he goes,
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: but he seems confident. Again, the guy did not say
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: a sentence, but.
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: I didn't laugh out loud at very funny.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: How about Sarah all dolled up for Scott Foley at
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: thirteen forty five?
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: Beautiful How lucky was I in my stupid big overcoat?
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: But your jacket?
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: Why was your jacket eleven size is too big?
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: I don't know. Did you not have a fitting?
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Do you remember it was like that jacket only.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: Three The only thing I could chalk it up to
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: was that was just the what people were wearing back then.
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: But it seemed really big.
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: That was huge, dude, it.
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: Was the Harmani baggy look back then.
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: I don't know, do you really think it was style
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: or just fit wrong? Because you're you're you're supposed to
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: be playing this like heart throb and and there there
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: you are. I mean, you should be looking like in
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: a nice outfit.
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: I have to think it's it was style or else someone.
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: I mean, there's you know, no less than three people,
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: but maybe thirty people on set who should be like, hey,
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: he looks really stupid in that.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: And it must have been it must have been the style.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: The style. It had to be style, because that jacket
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: would it came down to your knees almost, and it was.
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: Huge, and it was like a doctor's smock. She's a monster,
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: just ridiculous.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: Well, I thought Sarah looked U beautiful moment.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: And then I think she looked beautiful even after her.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: I know, even with Huke. And it was so funny.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: She's covered with little puke and blood and poop.
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, they did a really good job with her.
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: And that was it was.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: And then you remember filming, you guys, you guys get
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: into that really funny, awkward poop conversation. They cut, they
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: cut to Judy. It's so funny because you guys are
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: awkwardly flirting about poop and you cut the Judy's dead
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: pan face. Well, you know.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: And then right after that there's a there's a great
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: moment where the nurse has like, you know, uh, Sarah
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: and Judy you're talking. You know, I don't think anybody noticed.
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: It's not a big deal. And then one of the
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: nurses walk by and says, hey, poopy, which I thought
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: was just hilarious.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: Helma. Yes, I'm really I'm really noticing it all these
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: years later that many of Aloma's lines are moving. She's
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: always walking away, the always on the move, Hey poopy.
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: That we slaugh her into someone else's shot.
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: But that was very funny to you. Your whole conversation
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: on how you took a poop not here but not
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: here before, but before earlier I was down there.
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: I think, you know, we we we delve into their
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: relationship for in other episodes, but I think that's really
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: the foundation for them. You know, poop is the foundation.
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: It's a house built on poop.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: It well, you know, the relationship didn't last long, and
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: we know poop is not a problet.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: Founder depends on what your head.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: They should not have built their house on a foundation
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: of poop. What about in fourteen twenty when the jentleman goes, look,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: I'm just a joender. I don't know, but I know this.
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: You need surgery. How did he get in that room?
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: How he.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Was that the was that the beginning of the speech
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: where at the end of it he grabs a newspaper
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: and goes back into the toilet.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: Uh no, that's a different that's that was geez.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: That's before he starts going like, that's the that's the
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: mast moment with my patient. But then yeah, then we
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: cut around to him going to all of my patients
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: around the entire hospital, telling them they all need surgery.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: You have that.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: It's hilarious and Neil's so funny.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: That I'm having surgery right now.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: Oh that was that was great. I'm having surgery and
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: I'm loving it.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: And I'm loving it.
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: It's a bizarre infomercial, man.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: And then Donald, what do you say, Let's get you
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: out of your skin, skin, Let's cut you out to
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: your skin. I'm having that. Girl did a great job.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: I'm having surgery right now and loving it.
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: You know, the writers always have always done a good
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: job on this show of finding really subtle gender specific
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: moments that there's something that and I think Bill takes
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: a lot of it from Christa. You know, there's moments
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: where he's like, there was a character at one point
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: in the show. I don't remember what season it was,
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: but a woman talks about chewing on her thumbnail until
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: it bleeds at the side of her thumbtail bleeds, which
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: is a very specific sort of woman thing. And there
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: was a moment in here where Judy says, you know,
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: I'm I'm not sure there's a cat heaven, like I
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: don't tell Church. I sometimes cried becase I'm not sure
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: there's a cat heaven. Like I thought that was a genius,
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: really subtle gender specific moment, really spirit of.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: What you're saying, Scott. Then they cut to Sarah, and
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: the look on her face is like, there's no cat heaven. Yeah,
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: what do you mean there's no cat heaven. It's a
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: really really it's a really subtle moment, but they cut
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: to Sarah's face as though she's just heard, like for
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: the first time there's no cat heaven, like she's just
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: had Santa Claus.
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: Room for her.
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: I thought it was great, man, I thought it was
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: really smart, and Judi delivered it beautifully. The amount of
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: times I'll run into my wife and be like, Hey,
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: why are you crying, She's like, never mind, and you
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: know it's because she's not sure if there's a cat
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: Heaven's something ridiculous like that.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: At seventeen twenty one, Sarah bumps into Colonel Doctor and
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: I just was exciting because you know, Colonel Doctor didn't
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: always get a lot of foreground time, but he got
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: a little foreground moment Coleman's law, I didn't.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: I didn't even see that. That went completely over my head.
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: I missed that.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it's even in the Scrubs wiki, and I love
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: about We call him Colonel Doctor because that's what we
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: thought his name was, but because it's eventually revealed that
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: his name is Coleman's Law. It says in the Scrubs Wiki,
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: like Sarah bumps into Coleman's Law the Scrubs Wiggy, the
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: Scrubs Wiggie is so is so accurate that they call
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: Colonel doctor coleman slaws law.
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: At twenty thirty five, the patient in bed is Richard Wells. Yes,
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: was our are very he was our best first AD, first.
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: AD and UPM. Also he went on to be r
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: U p M later on when Scott Harris and uh,
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: that's right, Franklin got better to we.
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: Should say for those for those of you who don't know,
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: a first ad, a first assistant director is the man
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: or woman who was sort of running the set making
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: sort of the one calling out saying, okay, here we go,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: we gotta move. Really you think of that in theater
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: like the stage manager, but keeping everyone moving along uh
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: and uh, and sort of the team leader. So the
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: director can ideally focus on the creative aspects of things.
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: Well, the first idea is usually the bad guy. Let's
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: just put it that way. The first idea is the
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: one that you come to with all the problems. You
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: don't necessarily go back torect Yes, well.
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Richard Wells was so great at his job and one
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: of the best first ads I've ever worked with. And
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: and I forgot that he did a cameo and here
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: he is as one of my patients that finally finally
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: says he'll he'll go the medical route, solely because the
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: janitor has told him so at the end of the episode.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: Also, also, Richard Wells directed a few episodes of Scrubs. Also, uh,
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: he did a lot on the show. He wasn't just
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: the ad.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: Yeah, when he became I was bummed though when he
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: when he decided to become the UPM and he was
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: no longer on set because.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: Can I ask you a question, Yes, what is a UPM?
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: A UPM is a production manager unit production manager, handling
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: the organization of everything the un up If you need
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: a crane, the UPM is the one often calling the
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: rental house and saying, we need a crane on Tuesday.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: Who's bringing it? Timmy and John the line producer kind
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: of underneath the line producer, organizing anything and everything that
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: the nuts and bolts of a production. Scott, you switched
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: to eating, I see.
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: Well, I switched to my damn things running out of
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: batteries and I can't hear a fucking thing now. But yeah,
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: it's my anniversary. So my wife made me these things,
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: and I got to eat him before I come out
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: of my closet, unless she's gonna say, like, why didn't
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: you eat the cookie I made you?
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: Sorry?
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: How many years?
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: How many? Thanks so much? Thirteen years? Oh my good,
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: thirteen years. Wow? Yeah, wow, yeah, sorry, that's great.
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: And I was excited. You know, I thought I could
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: just listen to your explanation of line producer versus UPM
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: and no one would notice.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: But I forgot that. I'm sure everyone tuned out when
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: I started describing a UPM. All right, listen, we did
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: it as uh as Howard Stern says, we've said it all.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: This has been really fun, Scott, did you have a
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: good time?
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: I loved being here. I love seeing your faces.
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: You know, we haven't. We haven't had the chance to
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: see too many people recently, so it meant a lot
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: to me, and it uh, it has meant a lot
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: to me to be a bit a part of this,
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: have been a part of this show. I look back
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: fondly on it and consider both of you good friends
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: of mine, so I appreciate you having me on.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: Well, we miss you, dude.
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, Yeah, I miss you, man, I
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: I uh, I gotta tell you. You know, we talk
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: about it all the time. I ran in the chip
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: at vote voting, Uh, Jeff bur Yeah and uh and
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: I was like, you know, we gotta we gotta get
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: together again. And this was I thought. This was back
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: when we thought this pandemic would last about a month
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: and a half. And it's uh. You know, I'd love
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: to get out and play golf with you again once
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: this is all said and done.
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll find the time watch. I'd love to watch
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: you defeat Bill and tennis if possible.
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: Well, if we'll find out when he's injured, and then
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: we'll go out and play.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: Because I can't because I can't beat Bill in any sports.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: I often try and find people that can beat him
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: so I can just watch.
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: Game. Hey, you know, I wanted to talk about and
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: I don't know if you remember this before we go.
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: You know, Donald and I have had the chance to
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: work together, not just on a bunch of things, but
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: you and I aside from scrubs, and this is something
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: I regret very much after doing I don't know what, however,
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: meant two or three episodes in the first season. You
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: wrote a short film about robots.
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: Maybe probably I love robots.
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: And you sent me the script and I was busy
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: doing something else so I couldn't do it. But I've
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: always regretted not being able to work with you as
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: a director on something you wrote, and that was that.
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: There's still something I look back on. I totally remember it.
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: It was a I can't believe remember that. I vaguely
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: remember it too. I was trying to start directing things
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: because I had gone to film school and I was
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: and I was doing scrubs and it was so amazing.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: But of course in my mind as a as a
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: young go getter, was thinking I got to start making stuff.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: And I wrote that a wacky short, and I asked
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: you to be in it. But thank you for almost
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: saying yes. Yeah.
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: I absolute would have said yes if I wasn't able to.
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: But I look, I love both you guys, and we'll
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: hopefully work with you until we die on different things.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: I mean a really cool short film recently Scott that
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: you should check out. It's called In the Time It
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: Takes to get there, and I guess I've taken this
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: opportunity to give a shout out to that short. So
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: if you're listening to this, check it out.
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: It's got in the time it takes to get there.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's got Alicia Silverstone, Donald's old co star, and
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: it's got Florence Pugh, the very exciting young actress Oscar nominee,
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: and it's really good and it's on YouTube and you
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: can go watch it. It was Adobe had this contest
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: where people college kids could design a movie poster, and
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: the winning movie poster design using photoshop. The prize was
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: that I would write and direct a short film inspired
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: by the movie poster.
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: Oh yes, you know, I saw an article about that.
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: Anytime I see you guys names in any sort of press,
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: I check it out. And I saw an article about this,
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: so I will definitely check it.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: Check it out. I recently wont a webbye for it,
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: which is a which is a cool web award. But
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: check it out. Nobody cares, Zach, Oh my god.
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: Anybody could see Donald's face when he says that right now?
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: I wish if he was his hands on his head.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: I wish everyone could see my face right now. Because
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: I've successfully to feel sad.
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: You're not, but you look like you're sitting underneath.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: By the way, I want you to know that I
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: knew everybody listening would be like, oh, I can't wait
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: for him to say nobody cares Sean. I'm the only
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: one in this You've said it multiple times, Donald Has,
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: I'm the only one who never said those nobody cares
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: Zach Well.
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: The problem is you said them to begin with, and
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: not a day goes by where someone either personally or
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: on social media doesn't comment or say nobody. I mean
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: I could say happy birthday to my lovely wife of
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: thirteen years or happy anniversary of thirteen years, and I'll
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: get six nobody cares Sean's well, and it makes me
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: equally happy and fucking irate.
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: All Right, I get it, man. Well, listen, we we
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: got Bill was saying five six seven eight on this podcast,
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: and I post something on on Instagram and every other
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: comment is five to six seven eight.
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: Well, I mean you were You texted me are you
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: ready to come on? And I think I just wrote
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: back five six seven eight, and your response was like, yeah, okay,
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: we get it.
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: Listen, guys, you've gone an hour and a half. Uh,
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: this has been amazing. We love the fans. Thank you
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: for listening. We hope we're making you laugh a little
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: in these crazy times. That's our hope. You can email

- 1:23:38Speaker 1: Donald on Instagram. He's very envious of the amount of
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: followers I have.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: Dude, you have like one million, one point three million
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: on Instagram. Yeah you guys, I have six hundred thousand
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: and two.
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: Well, listen to Scott.
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: I follow you on Instagram. By the way, thanks man.
