- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's fuck ya Friday!
- 0:01[SPEAKER_01]: Fuck you!
- 0:05[SPEAKER_01]: Get ready for some wins!
- 0:28[SPEAKER_01]: and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: Each week, my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it until you see it.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, be it babe, how are you?
- 0:48[SPEAKER_02]: My God, it's just a perfect.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_02]: This is crazy.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: This year is going wild.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: This is your fucking Friday because we got to celebrate Friday together.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I really love doing these short and sweet episodes.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you love them too.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to know you've got to let us know.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: And you can send your wins in or your questions in your feedback via pod.com slash questions.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: So days episode is quick.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: I give you something that inspired me from the interwebs, which, you know, can be a weird place.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: Then I share something that you sent me.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: And then I share one of mine.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: So here we go.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: So this one is from the Mallory culture and I hope I said that it's a hard word for me to say Mallory culture.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I apologize when I say that wrong.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: In Maori culture, autism is known as, and this, I'm going to say, not correctly, but we're going to go for it.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: Take Ywantanga, meaning in their own space and time, in their own time and space.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: And this is powerful world reflects a worldview that honors neurodiversity, seeing each person's way of being as valid, dignified, and deserving of respect, rather than focusing on
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: Take you on Tonga encourages inclusion, understand the belief that everyone experiences life in at their own pace in their own unique way.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: And then the post has let's embrace perspectives rooted in respect, mana, which means inherent dignity, and one-an-tunga relationships.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry, I'm definitely but you're that one, but I hope that you are as inspired as I am because I actually really appreciate this.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's really easy in our culture, especially right now, to be thinking of people who are different than us as having less or we need to fix that or change that and I just think it's a beautiful thing like in their own space and time and their own time and space.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: Not only should they have that, but we should be giving ourselves all of that, and I just think that that word is beautiful.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I hope that that inspires you to think of yourself and anyone else in your life who is autistic, as being unique, and then that it's focusing on deficits focusing on like their unique person.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that we can do that.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you're listening to this podcast, you probably are someone who does.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: who generally tries to be respectful of others, but it is hard, right?
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's so hard, especially when people get confused or people get misinformation.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: And so I hope that that gives you a little inspiration and it's just like, oh, what a food for thought.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you're wins.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: You guys sent me a bunch.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to go with a couple of them.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: Here we go.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: The knee star gays are my QLs getting stronger and my side bends are finally deep.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: I love that so much for you.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like, applies to so good.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: It balances and balances.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: Someone else could have really overworking QLs, right?
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's so I love that you got to fail that for your body and get something deep out of it.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: Peter does Pilates had my run scheduled did not want to go at all, did 95% of what was scheduled.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: You know what, I love that at OPC we always say like finishing his optional.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's really important that one we're always listening to.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: ourselves.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: Good to listen to our bodies.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: But also, it was scheduled.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: So sometimes it's once you get going, it's like, okay, I can do this.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: And 95% that's amazing.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like we're celebrating.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, one more.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: He tamed Pilates.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: My teacher didn't have to adjust my legs and prone first one, like she does every week.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: Way to go, the chain.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds like your body is starting to connect the dots and not need to be reminded.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I love that sometimes people are like always
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: and it's like, the goal is that your body does it on its own.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: All right, you can send your wins in.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: I love sharing them some of them are short, some of them are sweet, some of them are long.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care, bring them in.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: You want to hear your wins on the show, here's why.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: Because at some point you're going to have a crappy Friday, and then hearing a win that you sent me is going to remind you of something you did do.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: And that is where celebrating.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: All right, my win.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: So we're on tour right now.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: And my win is getting to tour and being so well rested, so prepared, having filmed everything early and I'm not going, oh, we're going on tour.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I had, I'm gonna come back to being behind on my work.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm just so grateful.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: Look, this was a team effort.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: This was a year and a half in the making.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: You've heard me talk about this.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: I brought a win, I could have this up in the past.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: But truly, it just keeps getting better, and one of the ways that keeps getting better, and I'll share with you how this went, came to be.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: So, after everything that we do, we always reflect back on like, was that good?
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: Is that something we do again?
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I am constantly reflecting on how did I feel on that tour?
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: What could I, what, what would have made it better for me?
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: So, I can make the tour better for those who are attending.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: Blast year I got sick before the tour, so yeah, sick before the tour.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's wonderful.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: But that meant that I actually couldn't record two of the YouTube videos before we left, and there would not be time for us to record them on tour, nor would there be time for us to record them when we got back in time for them to release on YouTube.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: So we just missed a month of YouTube videos, which is unlike us we've never done that before.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we have playlists and we have other tutorials.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: We could drop, but we didn't have our long forms.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: And that would be like just never missed.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I just had to get to come to terms like, this is not going to happen.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: We put too much of my plate.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: I got sick.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: And so with my assistant, I was like, okay, we have to make sure that there is room in the schedule for things to go go haywire for me to get sick.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's so cool is we adjust in my schedule way.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: in January so that I would be recording so far in advance, which is not always ideal because that means like I'm not recording things in with like what is going on with the world at the exact same time.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: However, it allows if I get sick, there's a little bit more wiggle room to record things versus just skipping things, which is still so good going this tour.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: having been so prepared and so on top of things and knowing that when I come back to my home in January, like the most important thing I have to do is get my hair done in my nails done, like that's it.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: So do you hear how a win can be in so many things?
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: It can be a long, practice thing.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: It can be something small.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: You can also just be in like, I felt a certain way.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to feel like that again.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: I made a plan.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: I did the plan and here we are.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: Every time we evolve, we learn more things about ourselves, we figure something out.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a mountain with no peak, but not in a way that we're unsatisfied in a way that we just keep taking a look back at how far we've come and adjusting our path going forward.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: Because also from my laziness into this, our bodies are changing, right?
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: I am 42, so you might be in your 50s and it's already, you're on the other side of
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: May my listening and reflected myself give you permission to listen and reflect upon yourself.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: And if you need help, ask for it.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: If you need people to leave you alone, ask for it.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then send that win in so we can celebrate you.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: A little affirmation for you to take with you on your journey.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: Here we go.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: What is today's?
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: I get, here it is.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: I let go of the things that sit achingly out of breach.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: I let go of the things that sit achingly out of reach.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: Let go of the things that sit achingly out of reach.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: You know what, you do that probably great space to welcome it all the way.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes it's how it goes.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: You release it and it comes back.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody'll tell you about story when I really spread and he came back.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, that's a story for another day.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: You're amazing.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: Until next time, be a TACA.
