[upbeat music] Welcome, welcome to the Full Spectrum Cycling show.
• 0:19
How are you now? [laughs] [laughs] We got, uh, JK. Oh, one time. And we [laughs] We have Tony, Mr. Tony Burger. Pitter-patter. Sven here. Uh, what the heck's going on?
• 0:38
Ugh, more wind, wind, wind. Hmm. But- That was a windy one today It, it has been on the windy side, quite a bit actually, but at least we got some sunshine. For a second, yeah. Yeah. [laughs] Yeah, for one day.
• 0:51
Uh, coming up, couple big things tomorrow, yeah? Oh, yes. Oh, yes. Yeah. Got your Santa Cycle Rampage happening all over. Yeah. Kept- Multiple cities... kept my gear not too far away. [laughs] Nice, nice.
• 1:04
I, I think I know where my... I think my Santa suit's back in the, uh, back there. Oh, nice. Yeah. It never found its way down to the basement until- Mm-hmm...
• 1:12
about three weeks ago, 'cause [laughs] it was kinda pushed to the back of a closet. [laughs] There. I'm like, "Hey." Okay now. Well, there's a, there's a bunch of, uh, bunch of places doing this, the old Rampage thing.
• 1:24
Uh- Yes there are... probably find something in your local neck of the woods, either on the 7th or pertep- perhaps the 14th. Oh, yeah. And of course, it's Global Fat Bike Day, December 7th, Saturday- Yeah... tomorrow.
• 1:36
Everywhere, because it's global. Everywhere. It's global. Yeah. Uh, there's a link in the show notes to a page on the fatbike.com website where you can find over 40 Global Fat Bike Day events happening around the world.
• 1:50
But really, there's millions. Probably. Right. You think there's millions of people on fat bikes? Hmm, hmm. That's interesting. Probably not. I mean, there's- There's probably thousands...
• 1:59
couple hundred thousand fat bikes have probably been sold since they started selling fat bikes back in the- Yeah, yeah... olden days [laughs] of the 2010s. Yeah. Those are harder to ride, I hear. Yeah.
• 2:10
That's [laughs] We're almost out of this decade and into the new- [laughs]... new fat bike stuff. [laughs] Yeah. Coming up. What show number is this? Uh, 37. 37. How about that? Is that right? Is that right?
• 2:19
I think that's right. Is that right? Pretty sure that's right- Six... 'cause last week was Aaron, and he said he was 36 and it was our 36th show. Ah. I might've mismarked that. I don't know, 36, 37. Yeah, 37. 37. 37. 37.
• 2:32
Better, better change that right away. Yeah. [laughs] Pitter-patter. Let's get at her. Oh, look at it changing in front of my eyes. [laughs] It's just like magic, that Google- It's crazy... Google Docs. [laughs] Yeah.
• 2:43
It's like boom, there you go. [laughs] It's been changed. Who changed that? I, I don't know. That's just- At least you can go back and look- That's kinda weird how that works... to see who changed it too. Yep, yep, yep.
• 2:50
I see- Whoa... I see, uh, JK's little, little line right there. Yep. [laughs] Yep. Hovering, [laughs] waiting. [laughs] I worked for a company whose boss shall go... We won't talk about tonight. And, uh- That's...
• 3:02
used Google Docs through meetings, and everybody would be commenting and it'd be like 18 people editing at once, and be like bouncing around. It's like, "What now are we talking about?"
• 3:11
[laughs] 'Cause I can't keep focused 'cause I'm watching too many people edit this document. That sounds kinda fun. Yeah. [laughs] Wasn't me.
• 3:16
It was 17- I, I wonder what the biggest, uh, Google Doc, uh, editing scheme out there has been with how many people doing it at once... and, and we should break it if there, you know, if there's a Guinness Book for it.
• 3:25
Like Google Doc party. Yeah. Yeah. You know? Da, dun, dun, dun. Yeah. Da, dun, tch. [laughs] That could be a DDOS actually. Maybe. You know? I bet you that could, that could be aimed as a... Yeah, hmm.
• 3:38
All right, and for another show, um- Yeah. [laughs] Now it's the, uh, IT version. Yeah. I think that we got on the IT program 'cause of Tony's findings from, uh,
• 3:47
Light & Motion, and they want you to use their fancy USB cable. Yeah. They- Special... they have a special- Rainbow... USB cable. If you're charging... I happen in my case have a Rando 500. Right...
• 3:58
um, but I don't understand why, how that could be the case considering you can also charge the Rando 500 with your dyno hub. That's a pretty cool feature. It is a pretty neat feature.
• 4:08
Not, not very many- And I've tested it and it wor- it works very well. You don't lose power. Not very many lights like that out there that are actually battery powered and also. And 500,
• 4:17
uh, lumen is pretty bright for a city bike light. Mm. You know, it's got f- three solid settings and one very casual flash, which I think is much less annoying to drivers than a, you know, super flash type situation.
• 4:29
I really wanna, I really wanna like Light & Motion. [laughs] I'm with you. I know. I know. There's a lot to like about some of the stuff they're doing, but s- You know?...
• 4:36
sometimes they, they just make things overly complicated. Yeah. I'm not sure why. It's, um, made in America too. 'Merica. I think it's- Designed and assembled in the US of A. Assembled now, yeah.
• 4:45
They used to be a little more American specific, but- Ah, yeah. Probably from import- Pro- probably can't even get a LED... it should say of foreign parts. Right. Yeah, you probably can't. I think this is a Cree. Yeah.
• 4:56
Probably can't even get them in the United States made here anymore. Yeah, I doubt it. I, I am impressed- It's a little too hard...
• 5:01
that you haven't cracked off the cover of the- That's 'cause I usually have it plugged directly into my bike. Oh, okay. Then- And it just stays there, so I never- Oh.
• 5:09
Oh, so there's a- I only use it once in a blue moon... Oh, okay. I gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. Okay. So yeah. That's- I do expect I'll lose it soon. Oh, yeah, yeah. Or it, it to crack off. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Anyway.
• 5:19
Not necessarily lost. So- Just- You know. Hmm... hey, speaking of lights, uh, we got an event coming up on Thursday the 12th. Yes, we do. Fat bike, Surly, Everyday Cycles. Urban Riding. Milwaukee, Urban Riding.
• 5:32
Probably gonna want a light on that ride. Yeah, yeah. Or two. Or two. I was trying to charge my helmet light up. Oh. Let's see how that goes.
• 5:38
I've heard a rumor, or actually I heard it last week, that it's also gonna be two for one beers at Black Husky. It is two for one at Black Husky, which will be our kind of jumping off spot for the start of the event.
• 5:48
Yes. Stop by the shop, say hey. Call in, check out a bike- Uh... if you haven't already done so, 'cause we're doing this tomorrow. Or no, I'm sorry, we're doing this on the 12th. The 12th.
• 5:57
So call in and reserve a bike if... Yeah. Yeah. Uh- Just to be safe... at some point, probably around 4:00-ish, because I think that's when Black Husky opens, we'll have, uh-
• 6:06
Aaron from Surly over across the street with the demo truck, and, uh, he's gonna do all the signing up and whatnot. But if somebody really wants to, uh, reserve a size, maybe give me a shout. Ooh, ooh, ooh.
• 6:19
You got a bad, g- bag, dang ol' black bike right there, I'm gonna tell you what. All right, Miss Human. [laughs] Just wanna get my ducks in a row. Right? You got... Yeah.
• 6:27
[laughs] Yeah, it'll be, be kinda cool to get your bike built by then, wouldn't it? Oh, it'd be delightful, but- I, uh, we'll see when it is That could be a segment of every podcast. Let me just- Yeah...
• 6:37
shake this, uh- Yeah... Magic 8 ball here... Magic 8 ball's already Sources- Not very likely [laughs] Sources say negatory, good buddy. [laughs] Yeah, that's what they say. Soon with six O's. It's, uh...
• 6:49
On the bike subject- [laughs]... I'm gonna throw a shout-out to Joshua for letting us test ride his, uh, his electric Raleigh Tripper that he has had custom-built that is actually an incredibly enjoyable electric bike.
• 7:04
I rode it for a lap of the Riverwest 24 without any electric assist. Don't recommend that. [laughs] Well, you got a motor. You gotta use the motor.
• 7:12
But, well, I d- I didn't have the code to unlock the motor if you're- Right, right... so. Forgot about that.
• 7:16
I got that later, and then I did a lap with it and it's, you know, I, I, I got a commute downtown and I think I can cut it almost in half on this bike and still get a great workout.
• 7:26
So anyone that says, you know, "Electric bikes are just lazy," fuck, which I am. Um, it's, they're, if you wanna get hauling, this thing gets up to 26 miles an hour without much issue at all- That's hauling...
• 7:38
and it's nearly instantaneous. [laughs] Yeah. So. That's hauling. Yeah, I got buzzed by on, uh, on the Oak Leaf- Yeah... yesterday on the [laughs]... right down by the lagoon area. They call it out or anything? No.
• 7:51
Oh, damn. But you could just, uh, like wing, woo, woo. Yeah, they're- I'm like, "There ain't no chance, brother- Mm-hmm... that you're gonna... You're cooking that fast." Yeah. [laughs] Yeah, they can, they can get up.
• 7:59
If they're, you know, if they're custom-built, you can really get 'em ripping. Yeah, the slow roll heading north towards Brady- I know... where it's just that constant uphill. Yep.
• 8:06
They're, they're also- It's like, you know... reasonably windproof- Yeah... which is kinda nice, you know? Um. That's, that's would be my big pull on them. Yeah. 'Cause man, wind. Man, wind. Especially when- [laughs]...
• 8:17
you get through the downtown area and it's really whipping. Yep. It's, yeah, it, it, it'll be interesting to get a test ride this. I may, uh, I may have to borrow this tomorrow, so I- Sure. Yeah...
• 8:26
locked my bike out front and grab this to- Take her for a cruise... take it to work and back to see how it goes. I'll park it up on the second floor, Josh, so don't worry.
• 8:33
But by the time you hear this, I'll have already done it because you're- [laughs]... in the future. Future radio. Unless you're listening right now, and then you should call in. Call in and win, 717-727-2453.
• 8:45
That Sven's bike. Think we're looking for a call from Big Sexy. Ah. Today at some point. Is that right? Oh, nice. Nice. What, uh, uh, when... Sven, what's the story with that speaker there?
• 8:56
Is that some sort of new addition? That's a, uh, what is it called? It's one of those Ultimate Ears, uh, Boomy things. Boom 3 or something silly. Oh, cool. So that's gonna be for, like, a bike-riding-type speaker? Yeah.
• 9:08
It fits right in a water bottle cage- Yeah... or in one of those, uh- Ultimate Ears... little feed bag kinda things. And it's, uh, super sweet. I like it. It's whatever, Boom 3 I think it's called. Yeah. Ultimate Ears.
• 9:20
And there's a couple other guys on the ride. Oh, I do like this brand. Yeah, the, the plus, the gigantic plus and minus- Yeah... so you can always- [laughs] And you can pair, like, 150 of them together.
• 9:29
Oh, that's pretty sweet. So you can be as annoying as you wanna be. I don- [laughs] I don't know how that- Screaming Riverwest 24 is what that is. I don't know how that network h- Yeah...
• 9:36
how, how stable it is and how close you have to be to everyone else. We, we ride as the Annoying Kind Boy Team. There you go. Oh, my Lord. [laughs] Six of us, six of those, you know?
• 9:47
We're, we space ourselves evenly apart that we do, like, a quarter of the course. See, I felt bad for Mike, so you can inherit the, uh, Boombotix Pro. Oh, right on. Have a little bit more fidelity to your ride. Yes.
• 10:00
Mine's at home- I thank you... in pieces. I broke the USB port. As soon as I find the base for it, I'll give you that. Right on. Which you don't really need, but you can- The super base... charge it right on the base.
• 10:08
Yeah. And it's got a speaker in it. Mine worked for a week. That was the review I read on all of them, too. I was really bummed.
• 10:14
I, well, I kept- Yeah, even my, uh, my old Pro became- It kept charging, but the speaker wouldn't, the- I can't find mine anyways... the base wouldn't work. So, yeah. It's not that big a deal.
• 10:19
But it, it, it has served well on- It, it worked, yeah. That's a good product. And that- Is it?... and that one's got memory, so you can store music right on it. Uh, yeah. I had... Shit, I had two,
• 10:30
two Pros, and I n- I've never utilized that for whatever reason. Mm-hmm. Silly of me. Yeah. Of course. Oh, hey. Oh, hey. Oh, hey. Oh, hey. Oh, hey. Oh, hey. Top of the hill. Oh, yay, oh, yay. Top of the hill.
• 10:43
Uh, courtesy of, uh, Mike and Berta, we got special amber from Sprecher today. Oh, right on. Thank you. I was try- Thank you very much, Mike and Berta... I was trying to figure out where Mike was. Oh, yeah.
• 10:53
[laughs] Yeah, Berta picked up her, uh... Well, Mike picked up. Right. But brought Berta. The dance was quite spectacular. Nice. [laughs] The Happy Feet dance for the, uh- He didn't tell her until she walked in? No.
• 11:04
Nice. No, she was looking at him and then he said, "Well, that one's yours right there." Oh, that's- [singing] [laughs] Happy dance, happy dance, happy dance. Nice.
• 11:12
And, uh, it's an ice cream truck, folks, one of those new sparkly- Prickly pear... pink, prickly pear-colored ice cream trucks... one of the, one of the prettiest bikes ever made. [singing] Oh, mama.
• 11:22
That thing is good looking. Yeah. Yeah, it's... They look good. Yeah. Imagine that in the snow, how it would just really pop. That's, oh, that's gonna look great. Oh, yeah. Didn't even think about that.
• 11:30
Yeah, that's gonna be... It's gonna make a photo op all day long, man. Couple of nice bikes rolling out of the shop lately. That's one of them.
• 11:38
Yeah, my, uh, my old roommate, uh, picked up that highlighter yellow ice cream truck from a few years back. Yeah. Man, that thing. That pops too. Oh. That's got, that's a bright- Yeah, I was-... that's a bright bike...
• 11:50
damn impressed by that. So, uh, I guess, I don't know. They really, they... Sprecher calls themselves Milwaukee's original craft brewery. Yeah, they're not even in Milwaukee. And, well- [laughs]...
• 12:01
is, is that accurate, though? They're in Glenview. I mean, wasn't, uh, Frederick Miller a craft brewer when he started? Yeah, I suppose, huh? They, you know, they probably all were technically. Technically. You know?
• 12:10
Uh, you know, it's a decent beer. It's a fine beer. It's pretty drinkable. It's- You know, Sprecher Amber's, uh, it's been around forever. Mm-hmm. It's a 5%-er. You know?
• 12:17
Yeah, it's, it's- You could, you can lean into a few of them-... you know... without a whole lot of retribution. These were... You know, they're definitely the, one of the ones that you could-...
• 12:25
felt like you were buying a fancy, I like the black Bavarian one- Yep. Yep... you know, back when there was only imports or Miller. Yeah, I don't, where was their original brewery?
• 12:34
It just shows how- It's not where it is now... No, it's the one that was, that had the sign, the pillar downtown they had to move out because, uh- By Coakley...
• 12:41
by Coakley because they were, it was going to collapse and then it's still standing. The, oh, the s- the chimney? Yeah. Yeah.
• 12:46
Um, speaking of bikes, and I know that I've been bringing this up because I don't wanna forget it, but you know, we, gotta check out bikeindex.org because there was another rather s- you know, heavy bike theft this week in- Ugh...
• 12:58
in River West where a car apparently drove through a garage door and then stole all the bikes that were in the garage. Wow. Damn. Um, on Booth Street, which is a street in case, you know, people don't know, I live on.
• 13:11
Um, so they posted pictures of all the bikes on MKBK and, you know, it's incidentally on Monday I got a call from the, the number was MillerCoors, and it was someone asking if I bought used bikes. Oh, boy.
• 13:24
So I'm like, "Hmm, that's interesting." Don't buy used bikes here, folks. No, we don't sell used bikes here. Uh- We, we'll sell you demo Schlick Cycle bikes. Or demo Chumba bikes- Chumba bikes...
• 13:34
since I built up this Stella Titanium bike. Yeah, it's kinda- Kinda sorta have a Sendero demo available now if anybody's looking for a black- Yeah... medium Sendero, boy. Yeah. Your down country rig right there.
• 13:45
Yep, got a dropper post on it. They ain't gonna keep no dropper post on there. They ain't gonna get the- Eh... dropper post, unless you give them the right price. Maybe, yeah. Yeah. You could probably buy the post, too.
• 13:54
Yeah, see? See? I think on the Stella I'm gonna stick- Fair deal... with a carbon one for now, and then maybe in the s- I, you know, having my first carbon post, I'm really starting to enjoy getting, you know, use...
• 14:04
I was riding here tonight and I'm like, "This bike's really bouncy tonight for some reason." I'm like, "Oh, yeah. It's got that whiskey post on." Right? It's like suspension without suspension on a fat bike.
• 14:14
It's incredible. Right on. Uh, looks like we got a phone call. Call, caller, caller's calling in, and uh, figure out how this thing works there. And I'll push the button thing and say, "Hey, welcome to radio program."
• 14:26
Who do we have on the line? Big Sexy. Big Sexy. There he is. I got a heads up from, uh, from Puck that you were gonna call in, so we were kind of expecting you.
• 14:37
You know, that, that dude just bailed me out of a situation. I, uh, my air pump broke, and I used my last tube and my fix, my last fix-a-flat, uh, couple days ago, and he just sent me a couple bucks.
• 14:51
I, I got it all taken care of, man. Nice. Dave's a solid dude. He's a good guy. He's a good, he's a good fella. I saw you were riding through, uh, what was it, Tallahassee a couple days ago?
• 15:03
Yeah, I was, I was in Tallahassee last night. Not so good. [laughs] No?
• 15:09
Uh, but okay, but you know, it, it, it, uh, it was just, uh, the, I got woken up three times in the middle of the night and had to move three times, and I'm like, "Goddamn it."
• 15:21
You know, a- and, and, a- and okay, there's rules, I understand, but you know, like, I was like, the, the... and every, every cop that woke me up and tell me to move suggested a new place.
• 15:33
And I went to the new place, and then I got woken up and told to move again. And I was like, "Goddamn it," you know? It, it was just frustrating. It was all right, though.
• 15:41
But have you guys ever seen the Married With Children episode where they go to Dumpwater, Florida? I don't think so. I don't remember. It's been a while. I probably, but it's been forever. Yeah.
• 15:53
Well, if you, if, look, it's on YouTube, I guarantee it. The, the, the Bundys go to Dumpwater, Florida. That is where I am right now. [laughs] Nice. Is that, is that an actual place? Dumpwater.
• 16:07
There's no, there's no beach. There's, uh, there's, there was a bear crossing sign the other day. I'm like, "Oh my God." [laughs] I've, I've been up to Maine, I've been up to Maine and Vermont and New Hampshire.
• 16:18
There was no bear crossing signs. I'm going, "Wait a minute, where am I?" Wow. Yeah, I saw your picture of the bear crossing on the old book face the other day. [laughs] I was like, "Say what?"
• 16:32
[laughs] How was, uh, Thanksgiving? Sorry. Um, oh, Thanksgiving was awesome. I spent it with my mother, my stepfather, and my uncle. My mom spoiled me rotten, of course.
• 16:43
Decked out Heather with some jingle bells and a couple of Christmas bows. Excellent. Heather, if she's- Um-... if, if our listeners don't remember, uh, Heather's a Schwinn tricycle. Meridian. Meridian trike.
• 16:57
Meridian trike. And, uh, Jason's running this thing across the country here, visiting capital cities of the United States. My 19- my 19- 19th, my 19th state capital this morning in Tallahassee. Wow.
• 17:12
More than a third of the way done with them. Yep. Well, that's, that's, uh, the last state capital until after Mardi Gras. Wow. So you gonna stick around home and, and then- I,
• 17:26
I, I've ac- I'm, I'm getting ahead of myself, but I've already got the next journey all mapped out. Um, I'm gonna have Denver, Colorado is going to be the 25th,
• 17:37
and uh, I think, uh, Jackson, Mississippi will be like the 32nd or wait, no, m- more than that. I'm only gonna have like eight or nine to go after, after next summer. Wow. Yeah. Sweet.
• 17:54
Well- And how the hell am I gonna get Heather to Hawaii? I don't know. [laughs] Or Anchorage. Are you gonna ride all the way up the, the road up there? Or what, what's the capital of Alaska? What? Dang it.
• 18:04
Juneau or- Juneau. Yeah, Juneau. Juneau. All right. And, and furthermore. That'd be quite the cruise. Well, I, I, I replaced, I replaced the right wheel again. The, the right rim, uh, bent and broke again. Oh. Um,
• 18:22
it's been my experience that the, the, the rim itself is $35 from Schwinn- But most bike guys charge like $25 to fix a spoke and true it. Wow. It's like, do the math, I might as well just get a new wheel. Yeah.
• 18:40
Yeah, I don't know, maybe when you're, when you're, uh- Get a heavy duty wheel maybe...
• 18:43
right, when you're home for a while, you know, a good hand-built wheel's always stronger than something machine made, and, uh- Yeah Absolutely... maybe you can- Yep... do something while- Yeah, me, me and,
• 18:53
me and, me, me and Mike the bike guy in New Orleans, right uptown New Orleans on Napoleon Magazine, we're gonna, we're gonna put our heads together and see if we can't, uh, make that wheel indestructible. Mm-hmm.
• 19:04
Have you seen the fat trike at the other shop yet? [laughs] Mm-hmm. We, we did a- I don't know... we did kind of a conversion on an older Meridian. Unfortunately, there's a design flaw in the older version of it,
• 19:16
and, uh- Yeah... they're, they're kinda bendy. Oh. Oh, yeah But we did a, uh- They're kinda snapping... we, we did a fat bike version of it, which actually looks really cool. Just don't ride it.
• 19:24
Just gotta find some way to- Like-... to put some strength into the, uh, into the frame so it doesn't bend, 'cause it [laughs] was kind of, it bent. Right.
• 19:33
Like it, it's, it's that one, that one wheel that drives the whole tricycle, and if you got any weight in the back, it's just, it's just taking on too much I think. Yeah, probably. Probably wasn't designed to go- But-...
• 19:45
as far as you're [laughs] going with it. Yeah. You're, you're definitely- But, but you know, but you know what it was-... you know, pushing it to its limits... it was the coolest thing. I forget where I was.
• 19:53
I think I w- I was between, I was either on the East Coast about to take a right to go over to the Gulf Coast, or I was in between the Gulf Coast and the East Coast, but I stopped at this bike shop, or th- at this, uh, Walmart, and there was a brand new Schwinn Meridian,
• 20:11
uh, 24 inch, a little bit shorter than Heather. And brand, brand spanking new, and this guy's sitting next to it, and I pulled up, I'm like, "What's up?" You know, I'm like, "That looks brand new."
• 20:21
And he's like, "Yep, about three weeks old." I'm like, "Yeah. [laughs] Great." [laughs] "You, uh, is, is, is, uh, he available for, for making babies or what?" [laughs] Sounds good. 'Cause it was, it was beautiful.
• 20:36
It was just like Heather looked when, when I first put her together, but Jesus, by the time I got across Michigan she looked way different. Yeah. [laughs] Sweet. All right, man.
• 20:49
Well, I'm glad that you got back on the road, glad Dave could help you out. Um- Yeah... shoot me your link to your, uh, your Fund Me, what's it called? The PayPal thing again by- Yeah, and we'll put it on the-...
• 20:59
text, and I'll put it in the show notes again. Oh, yeah, um, it's just, it's- it's, uh, p- paypal.me\beckhouse504. B-E-C-K-H-O-U-S-E-5-0-4. I got a VenMo too, it's just, uh, um...
• 21:17
Or you can use, you know, you can go to, um, Heather the Tricycle on Facebook. Got it. [laughs] Um, we- uh, Hea- Heather the Tricycle on Facebook, we got a GoFundMe page linked to that too, so I mean, yeah.
• 21:29
Like, I'm, I'm doing, I'm doing okay. I'm not suffering in any way, shape, or form, except for when cops wake me up in the middle of the night and make me move. Fuckers. Sounds like that hasn't happened too often.
• 21:42
But I, I can... Well, no, it, it really doesn't, is I, I, um, I was talking to my brother earlier, and I was thinking maybe they don't see me or maybe they don't care.
• 21:51
But, you know, they'll come run my name and, and make sure I don't have warrants or something like that. But, um, but usually they let me be. But, but in Tallahassee they just weren't having me. Hmm. Hmm. Interesting.
• 22:04
But now I'm, uh, just a quick night in Dump Water, Florida, and then I'm on my way to Panama City Beach. I got a friend of mine's gonna get me drunk tomorrow, so we're gonna be good. Sounds good. Nice. Nice.
• 22:14
Well, maybe, uh, give us a shout- Okay... when you get back home and we'll do a wrap-up on your whole trip and then... It sounds good.
• 22:21
And then, and then, then I can give you a call when I'm on my way for my next voyage, which is gonna be right after Mardi Gras. Nice. Super awesome.
• 22:28
I'm going right, I, I'm going right up, I'm going right up Tornado Alley, so it's gonna be s- that's gonna be fun. It's a, it's a twister. Yep. All right, man. Thanks for the call. We'll talk to you soon. All right.
• 22:39
Very big sexy. No problem, guys. Hey, you guy- you guys take it easy. Thanks a lot. Have a good one. Bye. Bye. All right, bye. Big sexy, ladies and gentlemen. What you doing over there? Ah, fucking something up.
• 22:53
[laughs] Just never you mind. Something to do with my lightning and motion. Sometimes you're light, sometimes- You're in motion... you're in motion. [laughs] Cool.
• 23:06
Well, that was, uh, that was Jason, folks, uh, calling in from riding his trike to the state capitals around the country. On a Schwinn Meridian trike. Schwinn Meridian trike.
• 23:15
Well, that's kinda- That's, that's gonna be the... I'll, I'd be willing to bet you it's the highest mileage Schwinn Meridian bike in the United States. Possibly. Yeah.
• 23:22
I think we should, uh, maybe get that other one running. Not gonna be that hard. I just wanted to make it look good. A couple of supports across it. Well, it's gonna be, you... No, like- Like-...
• 23:30
maybe a, maybe a piece of wood looking like a gas tank or something or I don't know. I don't know. 'Cause you can't really weld to the thing. First of all, it's powder-coated- It's aluminum, right?...
• 23:39
and it's aluminum and- Yeah, yeah... I think once those things have been welded, you kinda don't wanna do it again. I also wanna put like a, a, a band clamp and threaded rod. Yeah. Yeah, something like that.
• 23:49
Maybe a couple of pieces and use the sign in between it 'cause doesn't he wanna use it for advertising anyway? Maybe. Yeah, that would work I bet. Don't know. We'll see.
• 23:55
Nice wooden, custom wood piece cut in the middle 'cause it's a step through frame and... Yeah, that was the big problem with that one. Yeah. It didn't have the additional support that- Right... the newer ones have, so.
• 24:06
Kick crime. After we were tearing around in the hallway I heard a [laughs] t- [laughs] I was like, "Wait, wait, wait"... it started looking like it's a little more rigged.... "boing."
• 24:12
I'm like, "Is it supposed to boing?" No, it's not supposed to boing. [laughs] Oops. Uh, dun, dun-da, dun-da-da. Well. What else? Hey, uh, I don't, um...
• 24:22
I think I'll wait till we can actually talk to Mike, but, uh, Mike left a voicemail about that Fatathlon event. Nice. So maybe next week we'll get him on the horn- And the cornhole, yeah...
• 24:35
and talk about the cornhole and [laughs]... And fat bike race. Yeah... see, I wanna know more about it 'cause it's not until the 4th of January, so we got- Yeah... a little time, and it's in St.
• 24:43
Germain, which is up north there somewhere. Kind of a pretty area... a nine-mile fat bike ride and cornhole toss You know- Et cetera...
• 24:51
nine miles doesn't sound like that much, but nine miles can either be a walk in the park, or it can be hell. True that. And then you gotta play cornhole. Yeah. I mean.
• 25:00
Yeah, well that's just like, it's sort of like the biathlon thing I guess. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I think that's what they're going for. I don't know if you're gonna do laps or... That's why we gotta talk to Mike about this.
• 25:09
[laughs] Yeah. Okay. We'll figure that out for next week. And we got the Surly ride, we talked about that before. We got, uh, Fatter By The Lake coming up that same January 4th weekend. Huh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Yeah.
• 25:26
Well, uh, no, I don't- Gonna have to change those plans... I already made reservations at the hotel down there. [laughs] I don't know. Yeah. We'll talk about it anyway. [laughs] Yeah, we can spread the love.
• 25:35
Maybe there's people up that listen to us up there that wanna go. I'm hoping it's cold enough to have some ice shelf down there this time. That would be really cool. Maybe hole around on some icebergs and-
• 25:46
Just don't take-... watch them ram each other... Brickley. Yeah. [laughs] Or take one too and watch him sink. [coughs] Except for his bike. [coughs] Oh, my Lord. Uh, there's also a calendar over there at fatbike.com.
• 25:56
If you have an event that you would like to list, go ahead and do that. Uh, kind of starting to see a few pop up on there. Most stuff doesn't seem to start till after the 1st, really. Yeah. It's the holiday season.
• 26:08
It's the holiday. We got your Huge Ass races going on. Yeah. There's a couple of those. Yeah. Uh, I think on the 14th we got, um, uh, the pl- the Manitowoc Fat Bike Race at Silver- Manitowoc?... Silver- Silver Creek.
• 26:21
Sil- oh. Oh, Shell- The- Shell Trax. Sho- Shell Trax. Yeah, Shell Trax. That's it. What was there? Oh. That's always, that's always a fun ride. That's the 14th. I think it kinda moved earlier in the season. Yeah. Okay.
• 26:30
It sounds like there's some good teams getting together too there. Yeah, I kinda saw that. George and Gomez, is that what I saw? I don't know. What I saw was that they were gonna pick teams. They weren't going to- Oh...
• 26:40
assign people teams in advance, but I'm not sure how that's gonna work. I'd, I'd be like the last kid picked, like when you were in grade school.
• 26:47
I, I did read something about if you sign up for the individual race, you automatically can be in the team race too. You don't have to pay a separate entry for that. Oh. So
• 26:56
probably have more about that on, uh, some website somewhere at some point. [siren] Oh, geez. What's going on? There's a, there's some kind of siren going on. Welcome to Locust Street. There we go.
• 27:07
Once again, siren going by. Who needs a beer? I take a beer. Ding, ding, ding, ding. We didn't top of the hill beer. We had beer already at the top of the hill, so we're heading back downhill now. You know?
• 27:18
Um, we're gonna be getting our first kit for e-bike pretty soon.
• 27:25
It's gonna be a fun build and test, and we're gonna try to put a fair amount of miles on it, shake it down, make sure we have a kit that's gonna serve our customer base well.
• 27:36
Kind of, uh, I'm kind of excited for that to be honest with you. That, that's gonna be a fun, fun changeover to make some exciting stuff. There you go now. There's some beer for you. Top of the hill.
• 27:45
What you got going over there? I don't know. I was trying to think I could just quickly- Hmm... trying to get his technology- Link it... synced, synchronized with the technology. Yeah. Yeah.
• 27:56
So he can poop out the bases, Moby says on- Pump out the volume. Pump out the volume. Oh. Uh, yeah, I don't know. What else? Hey, what else was going on? I don't know. Uh, yeah, it's the holiday season.
• 28:11
There ain't a whole lot going on bike-wise. Yeah. I happen to notice that speaking of holiday season- See you next... that there's a, there happened to be a Chumba in the stand. Chumba.
• 28:20
So, so someone's getting a, a pretty beautiful Chumba thigh bike for Christmas. Chumbas are being built as we speak. So it's not fair. It could also be Hanukkah gift or something. I, you know.
• 28:29
Yeah, I think it's a gift to himself. Huh? Then it's my gift, I guess. You know? That's Jeff's gift to himself. Yeah, Jeff's gonna like that a lot. He's- Got, uh, what do we got?
• 28:38
One, two, three, we got five, five left, folks, of those Ursa Major titanium fat bike frames. They're not gonna be around forever, and heck of a bargain there. Yeah.
• 28:47
Give Greg at Everyday Cycles a, a email and see what's up with that. Yeah, they're on Everyday Cycle's website. You can just take a look at them. Booyah Shaka. And yeah. Yep. Yep. You can- They're, they're great.
• 28:58
They're the greatest... build up their... You know, you can build them a variety of ways. You can start with this frame like my neighbor Sean did, and you can add better parts as you break the parts you got on it.
• 29:08
It's just- Yep... you know, that bike frame should last you pretty much forever. Pretty much. Unless you're, you know, I don't know, degenerate. Yeah. [laughs] You know? I hate DJMs. Yeah. All righty.
• 29:21
Well, I think we wasted enough of these people's time this week. Uh- If they wanna waste more time, they should watch Letterkenny. Probably ought to watch Letterkenny. Is 'cause that's a good waste of time. To be fair.
• 29:30
To be fair. To, to be fair. [laughs] All right, everyone, later tater. Bye bye.
• 29:36
  [upbeat music]
