- 0:00Speaker 1: This is seven tor Boy. The Mark Simoon Show starts now.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Well, it's Friday. Tomorrow, the election begins. The mayor all
- 0:16Speaker 2: election begins tomorrow. Early voting starts tomorrow and goes for
- 0:19Speaker 2: ten days. The election itself is a week from Tuesday.
- 0:25Speaker 2: It's almost here. Andrew Cuomo has picked up steam. He
- 0:29Speaker 2: had a good debate performance, which is unusual. He usually
- 0:33Speaker 2: is pretty bad in those debates. But some people think
- 0:38Speaker 2: he got shot up with some of that Joe Biden injection.
- 0:41Speaker 2: You'll suddenly give him some energy, some speed, and so
- 0:46Speaker 2: he was pretty good in that debate. Curtis most just
- 0:49Speaker 2: about everybody agrees won the debate. On content, on issues,
- 0:54Speaker 2: Curtis the winner. But but Cuomo energetic for the first time,
- 0:59Speaker 2: actually able to talk smoothly for the first time. Not great,
- 1:02Speaker 2: not great to mom Donni. Still a better debater. But
- 1:07Speaker 2: since then, Clomo's picked up a little steam. I don't
- 1:10Speaker 2: know if it's enough. It may be way too late.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Eric Adams has endorsed Cuomo. Why does Eric Adams suddenly
- 1:18Speaker 2: endorse Cuomo? He just five minutes ago was calling him literally,
- 1:21Speaker 2: called him a snake and a liar. Well, as you know,
- 1:25Speaker 2: there were billionaires, zillionaires, big big, big, big money donors,
- 1:29Speaker 2: trying to help Cuomo like crazy, trying to bribe Curtis
- 1:33Speaker 2: out of the race, trying to bribe Eric Adams out
- 1:36Speaker 2: of the race. A lot of money being offered to
- 1:39Speaker 2: a lot of people to help Cuomo. And suddenly Adams
- 1:44Speaker 2: is endorsing Cuomo. I don't know anything, you do the math,
- 1:48Speaker 2: But there was Eric Adams yesterday endorsing Cuomo.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Well, you criticize Andrew and you call them names, you
- 1:55Speaker 3: know what, and he called me names. But you know what,
- 1:59Speaker 3: Now it's time to fight for the family. And I'm
- 2:01Speaker 3: a fight for the family with Andrew Cuomo as the
- 2:04Speaker 3: next mayor of the City of New York. I'm fighting
- 2:07Speaker 3: for the family of New York. That's why I'm here
- 2:10Speaker 3: today to endorse Andrew Cuomo to be part of this fight.
- 2:16Speaker 2: All right, all right, yeah, I guess that's true. Cuomo
- 2:18Speaker 2: did call him names. And the fact that Adams kept
- 2:22Speaker 2: calling Cuomo names, called him a snake and a liar.
- 2:25Speaker 2: That's really not that unusual in politics. It happens all
- 2:27Speaker 2: the time. I remember George Bush calling Reagan all kinds
- 2:31Speaker 2: of names in the primary Voodoo Economics all that stuff,
- 2:34Speaker 2: and then when he got chosen as the running mate,
- 2:36Speaker 2: you forget about all that. It happens all the time,
- 2:40Speaker 2: all the time, even Trump. You know, when he was
- 2:43Speaker 2: in the primaries, he was calling Rubio names. Rubio called
- 2:46Speaker 2: him names. Same thing with just about everybody in the
- 2:51Speaker 2: in the primary. So you forget all that when it
- 2:53Speaker 2: comes time for a general election. But Cuomo, I don't
- 2:58Speaker 2: know he thinks. I don't know how much Eric Adams
- 3:01Speaker 2: helps him. He is voting. His numbers were single digits,
- 3:05Speaker 2: so it's not a lot of votes there. But they
- 3:08Speaker 2: stood there. They even hugged each other.
- 3:10Speaker 4: I don't want to thank Mayor Adams for his support,
- 3:14Speaker 4: but more than for his support, the mayor put his
- 3:19Speaker 4: own ambition aside because he cares more about New York City.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I see a little shot at Curtis there.
- 3:28Speaker 4: New Yorker's vote, I win. New Yorkers reject this socialism,
- 3:35Speaker 4: reject the vision. If New Yorkers vote, I win.
- 3:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 2: No, he's back to the slow talking a little. Did
- 3:45Speaker 2: Curtis Curtis sliwa? We think Curtis would make the best mayor.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Curtis Sliwa? Did he want adams endorsement?
- 3:52Speaker 6: I know they're going to be celebrating today, but when
- 3:55Speaker 6: I look at them today too, corrupt birds of a
- 3:59Speaker 6: feather flock together.
- 4:01Speaker 2: They deserve one another. Yeah, no, he didn't want adams endorsement.
- 4:04Speaker 6: The rough birds of a feather flock to get I'm
- 4:07Speaker 6: not worried about that. Anybody who was going to vote
- 4:10Speaker 6: Ferrick Adams I have to wonder with they've been these
- 4:14Speaker 6: last four years because he is the most corrupt man
- 4:18Speaker 6: in the history of New York. So, hey, Andrew Cuomo,
- 4:22Speaker 6: you can have whatever votes he had. I don't ever
- 4:25Speaker 6: want Eric Adams.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Votes now again. Early voting starts tomorrow, so it's just
- 4:31Speaker 2: about over. But you know, there's still a week and
- 4:34Speaker 2: a half and they're trying to push Curtis out of
- 4:36Speaker 2: the race. Those same big money donors. They have this
- 4:41Speaker 2: fantasy that if Curtis dropped out, the votes would go
- 4:45Speaker 2: to Cuomo. Most people think that's ridiculous. Most of these
- 4:48Speaker 2: SLIWA voters hate Cuomo. Jimmy Faylor put it best. It
- 4:52Speaker 2: said it like, if the Yankees lose and the Red
- 4:54Speaker 2: Sox win and go on to the World Series, they
- 4:57Speaker 2: Yankee fans don't start rooting for the Red sox just
- 5:00Speaker 2: doesn't just doesn't work that way. Well, get back to
- 5:03Speaker 2: the mayoral race. Lots to get to there. Leticia James,
- 5:06Speaker 2: our sleezy, dirty attorney general, is in Virginia right now.
- 5:11Speaker 2: She's about to go into court this morning. Looks like
- 5:14Speaker 2: she will be indicted for mortgage fraud if you look
- 5:17Speaker 2: at the documents. We assume the documents are all authentic,
- 5:21Speaker 2: and if they are, it looks like she's pretty guilty
- 5:23Speaker 2: of mortgage fraud, deceiving the bank. Now when you watch
- 5:28Speaker 2: the reports, all you hear about is Trump targeting, is targeting,
- 5:31Speaker 2: is political enemies. Uh, when Letitia James was indicting here,
- 5:37Speaker 2: you never heard one person say she's targeting her political enemies.
- 5:40Speaker 2: You never heard the same anchors say that Governor Kathy
- 5:44Speaker 2: Hogel jumps in to defend Leticia James. You know, there's
- 5:50Speaker 2: a lot of sleezy deals around the whocal world. That
- 5:52Speaker 2: stadium deal, that virus testing deal, a lot of people
- 5:56Speaker 2: that was really sleezy. She didn't need anybody looking into
- 5:59Speaker 2: that and be one reason she's being so supportive of
- 6:02Speaker 2: the attorney general. But here she was defending Letitia James.
- 6:05Speaker 2: The whole bunch of slimy Jerry Nadler type democrats on
- 6:09Speaker 2: stage with her.
- 6:10Speaker 7: If they can do this to an attorney general of
- 6:13Speaker 7: a state like New York, heaven.
- 6:16Speaker 8: Helped the rest of us because they can come after anyone.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Well, actually they do all the time. People do get
- 6:22Speaker 2: arrested and indicted for this exact same crime, this mortgage fraud.
- 6:26Speaker 2: And this is not like what Trump did. You know
- 6:28Speaker 2: what they accused Trump of doing overvaluing his apartment, which
- 6:33Speaker 2: first of all, he didn't. If you look now at
- 6:34Speaker 2: the comparable you know, that's what they do in real estate,
- 6:37Speaker 2: you look at the comparable apartments and what they sold for.
- 6:40Speaker 2: He was pretty much right with his evaluation. But if
- 6:44Speaker 2: you look at his case the crime, there was no crime.
- 6:47Speaker 2: He couldn't possibly have committed a crime because he knew
- 6:50Speaker 2: the bank knew, everybody knew that whatever evaluation he put
- 6:54Speaker 2: would never be seen by the bank. They would never
- 6:57Speaker 2: look at it. It says right in the documents, we're
- 6:59Speaker 2: not going to look at your numbers. We won't use
- 7:01Speaker 2: your numbers. It says right in his document, don't use
- 7:04Speaker 2: this number, do your own. But they all know the
- 7:08Speaker 2: bank doesn't look at your number when they want to
- 7:11Speaker 2: give you an eight hundred million dollar loan, they send
- 7:14Speaker 2: a team of appraisers. They'll come decide what the number is.
- 7:17Speaker 2: They never even look at your number. Never. Now, in
- 7:21Speaker 2: the case of Letitia James, this is a crime that
- 7:24Speaker 2: it's easy to commit because the bank only looks at
- 7:27Speaker 2: your number. And in the words, if you say it's
- 7:29Speaker 2: going to be my primary residence, they take your word
- 7:31Speaker 2: for it. They don't follow you around for a year.
- 7:34Speaker 2: They take your word for it. And the reason she
- 7:36Speaker 2: said it was her prime going to be our primary residence.
- 7:38Speaker 2: She'd get a much better mortgage rate, she'd get a
- 7:42Speaker 2: much better tax rate. She was saving a lot of me.
- 7:45Speaker 2: So it was clearly when you do something like this,
- 7:47Speaker 2: it's clearly to defraud the bank, and you're on your taxes.
- 7:52Speaker 2: So she is going to have a problem today in court.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Now they're trying to go after the prosecutor who I
- 7:59Speaker 2: was I believe a Trump attorney at one point, But
- 8:02Speaker 2: that's not unusual. Many times somebody's president and their attorney
- 8:07Speaker 2: or their legal team people like that all get appointed
- 8:09Speaker 2: as US attorneys. And then they attack her by saying,
- 8:13Speaker 2: even Hockel did that, she's a US attorney who has
- 8:17Speaker 2: no experience as a prosecutor. Well, that's pretty common. That
- 8:22Speaker 2: happens a lot. Chris Christy's a good example. He had
- 8:25Speaker 2: absolutely no experience as a prosecutor. I don't think he'd
- 8:28Speaker 2: ever even been in a courtroom before. But he'd been
- 8:31Speaker 2: a huge fundraiser for George W. Bush, so they appointed
- 8:35Speaker 2: him US attorney. Now, there's a lot of US attorneys
- 8:37Speaker 2: who are very experienced prosecutors, but there's a lot of
- 8:41Speaker 2: them get that appointment and they've never been a prosecutor.
- 8:43Speaker 2: So it's not unusual at all. But this is the
- 8:46Speaker 2: double standard the media Democrats are famous for. Another good
- 8:51Speaker 2: example is this what they're calling BDS. BDS is the
- 8:54Speaker 2: new disease. It's ballroom derangement syndrome. Liberals media melting down
- 9:02Speaker 2: over the ballroom, the construction which has taking place fourteen times,
- 9:07Speaker 2: the same exact corruption, a construction with the wrecking ball
- 9:11Speaker 2: and the cranes at fourteen times it's been done at
- 9:14Speaker 2: the White House. You know what's interesting the ballroom. Have
- 9:17Speaker 2: you seen the pictures of it. It's spectacular. This Versailles
- 9:21Speaker 2: like ballroom is absolutely enormous, spectacular, ornate, luxurious, three hundred
- 9:28Speaker 2: million when Obama did his construction. He tore out the
- 9:33Speaker 2: was it the tennis court? He tore out the tennis
- 9:35Speaker 2: courts and built a basketball court. He spent three hundred
- 9:39Speaker 2: and seventy six million, which is about four hundred and
- 9:43Speaker 2: fifty million in today's dollars. So the media totally corrupt.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Not one reporter, anchor, media writer New York Times, nobody
- 9:54Speaker 2: has started to ask why would a basketball court, which
- 9:58Speaker 2: is just a slab of concrete, why a basketball court
- 10:02Speaker 2: cost fifty percent more than this ballroom? It should cost
- 10:06Speaker 2: one fiftieth of what the ballroom costs. Not only did
- 10:10Speaker 2: it cost off more than the ballroom, Obama built it
- 10:13Speaker 2: to the tax bearers. In this case, Trump is having it,
- 10:16Speaker 2: he's paying for it, and some donors are paying for it.
- 10:19Speaker 2: So total total corruption on the part of the media,
- 10:23Speaker 2: never asking anything they should be asking. Hey, that NBA scandal.
- 10:29Speaker 2: A lot of arrests, reputed mobsters, thirteen reputed mobsters busted
- 10:34Speaker 2: alongside NBA stars, sweeping historic gambling bust and the NBA
- 10:42Speaker 2: terrified of this. They're tangled up in it. Players throwing games,
- 10:45Speaker 2: all sorts of stuff, four teams, four mob families, millions
- 10:50Speaker 2: and millions and millions of dollars. It's hard to believe
- 10:52Speaker 2: anybody would fall for this, though. They get a couple
- 10:55Speaker 2: of famous athletes to lead high rollers into this poker
- 10:58Speaker 2: game where everything is the card shuffler is rigged, the
- 11:02Speaker 2: deck is rigged, everything is rigged. This is like a real, uh,
- 11:07Speaker 2: Henry Hill, Jimmy Burke kind of a card game. Now,
- 11:10Speaker 2: what was his name of the movie, Jimmy Conway, Remember
- 11:12Speaker 2: Goodfellas Henry Hill, Jimmy Conway with that poker game. So
- 11:17Speaker 2: why would you if you're a big NBA star and
- 11:20Speaker 2: these guys, If you look at these guys, they've each
- 11:22Speaker 2: made like one hundred and fifty million, two hundred million,
- 11:25Speaker 2: you're multi multi, multi millionaires. Why would they get involved
- 11:29Speaker 2: in something like this? Well, it's usually two reasons. One,
- 11:33Speaker 2: they're in debt to the mob, the gambling debts or
- 11:36Speaker 2: something in debt somehow. But again, if you're worth one
- 11:38Speaker 2: hundred and fifty million, it's hard to believe they're in
- 11:40Speaker 2: debt to the mob. It could be that could be it,
- 11:43Speaker 2: or it could be they were involved in something else,
- 11:47Speaker 2: some other total sleazy, dirty, bad behavior, something they were
- 11:53Speaker 2: doing that the mob knew about or had something to
- 11:56Speaker 2: do with it and are blackmailing him into this. It
- 11:59Speaker 2: could be that too, who knows. But the bust was
- 12:03Speaker 2: pretty big yesterday. Here's a cash pttel FBI director on it.
- 12:08Speaker 5: It's not hundreds of dollars, it's not thousands of dollars.
- 12:11Speaker 5: It's not tens of thousands of dollars. It's not even
- 12:13Speaker 5: millions of dollars. We're talking about tens of millions of
- 12:16Speaker 5: dollars in fraud and theft and robbery across a multi
- 12:22Speaker 5: year investigation.
- 12:23Speaker 8: Yeah, the sports books themselves are victims in this case.
- 12:28Speaker 2: They at themselves did not.
- 12:31Speaker 8: As far as our investigation has concluded, they did not
- 12:34Speaker 8: perpetrate anything unlawful.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Yeah, now you gotta wonder are big high roller players
- 12:39Speaker 2: what are they doing in this kind of game? You
- 12:40Speaker 2: know you can bet anywhere now, they got legal betting.
- 12:42Speaker 2: They got those betting sites. You can go to Las Vegas.
- 12:45Speaker 2: You don't need to go see Jimmy Conway and Henry
- 12:48Speaker 2: Hill here.
- 12:48Speaker 8: Once the game was underway, the defendants fleeced the victims
- 12:52Speaker 8: out of tens or hundreds of.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Thousands of dollars per game.
- 12:57Speaker 8: The defendants used a variety of very sophisticated cheating technologies,
- 13:03Speaker 8: some of which were provided by other defendants in exchange
- 13:06Speaker 8: for a share of the profits from the scheme.
- 13:10Speaker 2: It does sound pretty good. This is going to be
- 13:11Speaker 2: one big movie one day.
- 13:12Speaker 8: Between December twenty twenty two and March twenty twenty four,
- 13:17Speaker 8: these defendants perpetrated a scheme to defraud by betting on
- 13:22Speaker 8: inside non public information about NBA athletes and teams. The
- 13:28Speaker 8: non public information included when specific players would be sitting
- 13:32Speaker 8: out future games or when they would pull themselves out
- 13:36Speaker 8: early for purported injuries or illnesses.
- 13:39Speaker 2: All right, but that's gone on before. We've seen that
- 13:41Speaker 2: through the years, and in the age of Twitter and
- 13:43Speaker 2: social media and TikTok and all that stuff, you'd think
- 13:48Speaker 2: that information would fly around a lot more than it
- 13:50Speaker 2: even does now.
- 13:51Speaker 5: Cash Betel, not only did we crack into the fraud
- 13:55Speaker 5: that these perpetrators committed on the grand stage the NBA,
- 14:01Speaker 5: but we also entered and executed a system of justice
- 14:06Speaker 5: against La Casinoshra to include the Bonano, Gambino, Geneveci and
- 14:11Speaker 5: Luchase crime families.
- 14:12Speaker 2: La Coosa and Nostra. When is the last time you
- 14:15Speaker 2: heard that phrase?
- 14:16Speaker 5: This is an illegal gambling operation and sports rigging operation
- 14:20Speaker 5: that spanned the.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Course of years.
- 14:21Speaker 5: The FBI led a coordinative takedown across eleven states to
- 14:25Speaker 5: arrest over thirty individuals today responsible for this case, which
- 14:29Speaker 5: is very much ongoing.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty amazing. It's quite a story. The only problem
- 14:34Speaker 2: I wish this would happen in a few weeks from now.
- 14:36Speaker 2: The only problem with this case, it's grabbing all the headlines.
- 14:39Speaker 2: It's covering up the Letitia James indictment. In fact, the
- 14:43Speaker 2: James indictment. Last nime you were watching the news, it
- 14:45Speaker 2: was like fifteen minutes into the news because this thing
- 14:49Speaker 2: took up the whole first ten minutes. But sometime this
- 14:53Speaker 2: morning we'll hear that Tish James was indicted. So but
- 14:56Speaker 2: this NBA thing looks like over thirty people so far
- 14:59Speaker 2: have been indicted. You'll see more names added to that.
- 15:02Speaker 2: This will grow and mushroom and anyway, Hey, we got
- 15:04Speaker 2: a lot to get to. Hey, we'll get to Johnny Carson.
- 15:07Speaker 2: It's the one hundredth birthday of Johnny Carson, the greatest
- 15:10Speaker 2: talk show host ever, the greatest late night host. We'll
- 15:12Speaker 2: talk about him in a few minutes. Oh, we'll take
- 15:14Speaker 2: some calls. Next eight hundred three to two one zero
- 15:18Speaker 2: seven ten. Is the number eight hundred three to two
- 15:21Speaker 2: one zero seven ten.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Give WR A bri said on the iHeartRadio app to
- 15:27Speaker 1: hear Mark Simone and all the WR hosts in an instance.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simo show on WR.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Hey, Well, let's take some calls. Let's go to Frank
- 15:39Speaker 2: in Phoenix. Frank, how you doing?
- 15:42Speaker 9: Hey, Mark, how's it going?
- 15:44Speaker 10: Mark?
- 15:44Speaker 9: I have a question for Vincent. The question is scandal
- 15:50Speaker 9: now with.
- 15:50Speaker 11: The mafia with this bedding, going back as far as
- 15:53Speaker 11: Luciano and Watson Youse, guys have always had an ability
- 15:56Speaker 11: to make millions of dollars. Listen, do you think these
- 15:59Speaker 11: guys would have done the same kind of business if
- 16:02Speaker 11: they were straight and narrow?
- 16:03Speaker 2: Now? Why it's why would you tie Vincent to this
- 16:06Speaker 2: kind of stuff? Anyway, we'll see if he calls. Let's
- 16:08Speaker 2: go to Kathy North Carolina. Kathy, how you doing?
- 16:12Speaker 7: Oh I good morning, Good morning, Vincent.
- 16:15Speaker 12: That's a good question.
- 16:16Speaker 9: By the way, there's so many important topics, but I
- 16:18Speaker 9: want to.
- 16:18Speaker 7: Talk about kiss because I heard your interview with Scott Shannon,
- 16:23Speaker 7: the Fabulous DJ, and he brought up that Ace Frayley
- 16:28Speaker 7: had died recently, which I didn't know until I heard
- 16:31Speaker 7: your show. That's so great you're getting pardon no, that
- 16:36Speaker 7: Ace Frayley died.
- 16:38Speaker 2: That's great.
- 16:39Speaker 7: No, it's not great. It's great that I learned it
- 16:41Speaker 7: from me, So thank you for d I'm sorry that
- 16:44Speaker 7: was awful. They're getting, you know, nominated, or they're for
- 16:47Speaker 7: the Lincoln Center thing. But anyway, I wanted to give
- 16:50Speaker 7: you my quick Ace Frayley story because he did want
- 16:53Speaker 7: and it was fabulous. Scott Shannon told a great story.
- 16:56Speaker 7: But they were just they eat, breathed, and ate, you know,
- 17:00Speaker 7: rock and roll all night and party every day. I
- 17:02Speaker 7: spent a weekend with him on tour too.
- 17:04Speaker 2: You spent a weekend with kiss Huh?
- 17:06Speaker 7: Yeah, I know that's but anyway, but for but in
- 17:09Speaker 7: memory of Ace, my story is that I was I was, uh,
- 17:13Speaker 7: we were trying to figure out what to do for
- 17:14Speaker 7: the weekend because they go, we gotta we.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Got to get right to the story. We don't have
- 17:18Speaker 2: this kind of time, Okay.
- 17:20Speaker 7: So anyway, I said, let's go to Disney World. It's
- 17:22Speaker 7: you know, rides, and it's going to be too long.
- 17:24Speaker 2: We'll never get to this just get.
- 17:26Speaker 7: Right to the good part, he said, Baby, I am
- 17:29Speaker 7: disney World anyway, long live.
- 17:31Speaker 9: Yes, there you.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Go, Baby, I am Disney World.
- 17:34Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I mean I met the guy a few times. He
- 17:36Speaker 2: didn't look like maybe maybe great adventure. I don't think
- 17:41Speaker 2: he was Disney World, but who knows. Let's go to
- 17:44Speaker 2: Mike and Florida. Mike, how you doing?
- 17:48Speaker 9: Wait a minute, this is gonna be go ahead, go ahead,
- 17:50Speaker 9: good morning. Hi, bark kissed too. The question about I
- 17:55Speaker 9: want to ask you about heavy Como. I was from
- 17:57Speaker 9: the King.
- 17:58Speaker 12: I stumbled, course too, of my favorite songs by him,
- 18:01Speaker 12: Round and Round the best.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Hey, you know what you you have to call us back.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Not your fault. Something screwed up with it. We have
- 18:07Speaker 2: these we have these digital phones. That's why sometimes it
- 18:10Speaker 2: sounds so sped up. Let's go to Oh there is
- 18:14Speaker 2: Vincent and Brooklyn Vincent. How you doing?
- 18:16Speaker 10: Good morning? Mark? Can you hear me? Okay, yeah, okay.
- 18:19Speaker 2: You know it's always that line, line eight, It's always
- 18:21Speaker 2: on that line where that stuff happened.
- 18:23Speaker 10: Yeah. I called once. I called a couple of minutes ago,
- 18:26Speaker 10: and or immediately dropped and I called back from Christ
- 18:28Speaker 10: fool me and I don't know what this world is
- 18:30Speaker 10: coming to. Jesus Christ. Can't these guys even just be
- 18:35Speaker 10: honest gangsters in payout? And I say that because fifty
- 18:40Speaker 10: years ago, back in the day, I ran a gambling joint.
- 18:44Speaker 10: I'm shocked, and there was there was none of those
- 18:48Speaker 10: shenanigans going on. In fact, I would even fund one
- 18:54Speaker 10: of usually one of the players at one of the
- 18:56Speaker 10: tables was funded by me. And what we would do
- 18:59Speaker 10: is whatever I would get sixty percent, I would give
- 19:03Speaker 10: him forty percent. But there was no cheating, none of those,
- 19:07Speaker 10: none of those shenanigans going on. I checked everybody when
- 19:11Speaker 10: they came in for weapons and stuff. I made the
- 19:13Speaker 10: the women opened their pocketbook to see if they had
- 19:16Speaker 10: anything in there. And as low as long as you
- 19:19Speaker 10: were playing in my place, the food that drinks.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Everything was the executive.
- 19:25Speaker 10: Game, yeah, exactly, every Saturday night at twelve o'clock, and
- 19:31Speaker 10: it was you had to be You couldn't just come,
- 19:34Speaker 10: you had to be a member.
- 19:36Speaker 2: And it was like Tony Soprano with an executive game.
- 19:39Speaker 2: But let me ask you a question, if you just
- 19:40Speaker 2: did a normal poker game like Tony Sopranos or Henry hill,
- 19:44Speaker 2: and you would make a nice profit, wouldn't you.
- 19:47Speaker 10: Yeah, because I got a cut on every on every pot,
- 19:50Speaker 10: I got a cut, So I got a cut no
- 19:52Speaker 10: matter what.
- 19:53Speaker 2: I see your plate. Why do you need to cheat?
- 19:54Speaker 10: Then that's what I'm saying. I don't know, that's what
- 19:57Speaker 10: I'm saying. It's it's not. I knew a woman up
- 20:01Speaker 10: the street and when I was a kid, I used
- 20:04Speaker 10: to deliver the food to her house. She had a
- 20:08Speaker 10: game where people would come from all over and she
- 20:12Speaker 10: would pay. This was before ubers that lift. She would
- 20:15Speaker 10: pay your cost service or a limousine to take you
- 20:20Speaker 10: to the game because you had to have so much
- 20:23Speaker 10: to sit at the table. And the game went on
- 20:26Speaker 10: all night, and food and drink, everything was free as
- 20:30Speaker 10: long as you were playing. And she paid out. You know,
- 20:35Speaker 10: none of the Shenanigan because they're making it. I was
- 20:38Speaker 10: making it out no matter what I was making it
- 20:41Speaker 10: that I got a cut of every part that was playing.
- 20:45Speaker 10: So I hadn't coming and going, so there was no
- 20:49Speaker 10: need to do stuff like that. And I don't need
- 20:51Speaker 10: that found if somebody found out somebody was cheating, I
- 20:56Speaker 10: don't want nobody a shot or stamped in front of
- 20:59Speaker 10: my place. Oh uh no, it was to all the
- 21:03Speaker 10: people I know. Did it on me. I even had
- 21:06Speaker 10: a game in a hotel, the hotel Saint George that Maren.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Knows that where the executive game was Tony Soprano. Remember
- 21:13Speaker 2: it was in a hotel.
- 21:14Speaker 10: Exactly every week it changed up, Yeah, changed the room
- 21:19Speaker 10: and I would pay off the house sticks. They old
- 21:22Speaker 10: day Me and every very good vincent.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Excellent call, very informative. Hey, we got to take a
- 21:28Speaker 2: break for the news. But coming up, it's Johnny Carson's
- 21:31Speaker 2: one hundredth birthday. There's all kinds of celebrations and in
- 21:35Speaker 2: honor of that, a new book is out. It is
- 21:37Speaker 2: the definitive book on Johnny Carson. It is the most detailed,
- 21:41Speaker 2: fascinating book. We'll talk to the author next on seven
- 21:45Speaker 2: to ten w O R.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Marximon on sevent ten w R.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Well, Hey, if you're a big Johnny Carson fan, listen carefully.
- 21:55Speaker 2: First of all, there's a thing called the Carson Podcast.
- 21:57Speaker 2: It's excellent. It's everything you could ever know about Johnny Carson.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Mark Malkoff the host. He's done like six hundred episodes
- 22:04Speaker 2: interviewing everybody that was ever on the Tonight Show. Worked
- 22:07Speaker 2: at the Tonight Show. Listen, start listening to it the
- 22:10Speaker 2: Carson Podcast. Now that all turned into a book. It
- 22:13Speaker 2: just came out this week. The book is called Love
- 22:17Speaker 2: Johnny Carson. It is the most detailed, fascinating, never before
- 22:23Speaker 2: told story of Johnny Carson The Tonight Show. It's called
- 22:26Speaker 2: Love Johnny Carson. You can order it right now. Here's
- 22:30Speaker 2: the author, Mark Malkoff. Mark Malkoff, How you doing.
- 22:34Speaker 9: Mark?
- 22:34Speaker 12: It is so good to talk to you.
- 22:36Speaker 9: Thanks for having me on.
- 22:37Speaker 12: And I have to tell you your expertise on this book.
- 22:40Speaker 12: I mean, you're very generous. You say that you knew
- 22:43Speaker 12: everything about Johnny Carson, and I was the one person
- 22:46Speaker 12: that presented all these new things to you and some
- 22:49Speaker 12: other people. But your expertise on Carsons this sounds me.
- 22:53Speaker 12: I'm grateful for your help in this book, and you're
- 22:55Speaker 12: all over the book with your quotes and you added
- 22:58Speaker 12: so much to it.
- 22:58Speaker 2: So thank you. I knew everything you could know about
- 23:01Speaker 2: Johnny Carson. I started listening to your podcast. I learned
- 23:03Speaker 2: like twenty seven thousand more things I didn't know now.
- 23:07Speaker 2: But you're a young guy, so you were not really
- 23:09Speaker 2: around in the original days of Carson. How did this
- 23:13Speaker 2: love of Johnny Carson start with you?
- 23:15Speaker 12: You know, I was like five or six years old
- 23:18Speaker 12: and my dad would let me stay up on Friday
- 23:19Speaker 12: nights and watch Johnny and then they would do these
- 23:22Speaker 12: primetime anniversary shows every October, and I just the clip
- 23:26Speaker 12: shows were the best because I would watch Johnny with animals,
- 23:29Speaker 12: with kids, with senior citizens, the sketches, and he'd be
- 23:33Speaker 12: so funny and so witting. It was like this adult party,
- 23:36Speaker 12: and the politics at that time was over my head.
- 23:39Speaker 12: But you know, I was sixteen when he went out
- 23:42Speaker 12: the air on May twenty second, ninety two, and I
- 23:45Speaker 12: just missed him, like the nation missed him. And there
- 23:48Speaker 12: were just so many questions I had about the show.
- 23:51Speaker 12: Who was holding the curtain open for Johnny behind the scenes,
- 23:53Speaker 12: what was it like for a guest to be on
- 23:55Speaker 12: the show? So I just started this podcast and I
- 23:59Speaker 12: interviewed something like sixty or seventy Carson staff members. It
- 24:02Speaker 12: was with Irving Davis, the guy who held the curtain
- 24:05Speaker 12: open for Johnny for twenty years, to find out what
- 24:07Speaker 12: was going on behind the scenes, and it was just
- 24:10Speaker 12: this whole different world for me.
- 24:11Speaker 2: It was amazing, so besides the funny and the guests
- 24:15Speaker 2: in the entertainment, there was something about Carson for a
- 24:18Speaker 2: little kid, I kind of the same thing. He would
- 24:21Speaker 2: kind of like teach you about how to be an adult,
- 24:24Speaker 2: how to have a personality, right, that kind of stuff.
- 24:27Speaker 10: I think.
- 24:27Speaker 12: So Johnny was really on the show all about manners.
- 24:30Speaker 12: He would say though the one time he was knock
- 24:32Speaker 12: good with his manners manners and he talked about it
- 24:34Speaker 12: on the shows and he struggled with this was his drinking.
- 24:37Speaker 12: He would say on the show when I drink, I
- 24:39Speaker 12: have one extra drink, I would turn into a table
- 24:41Speaker 12: of the hunt. But he was all about manners and
- 24:43Speaker 12: he was really really good with his guests. He never
- 24:46Speaker 12: made fun of the people. With some top show hosts
- 24:48Speaker 12: will try to get a laugh at the expense his rule.
- 24:51Speaker 12: Peter less Sali, Johnny's producer, told me uniquely, Johnny was
- 24:54Speaker 12: always make the guests look good. It was not to
- 24:56Speaker 12: get a laugh for himself. And just the way he
- 24:58Speaker 12: handled himself, the way he dressed, the class that he
- 25:01Speaker 12: had I think really separated himself. And when you were
- 25:04Speaker 12: a kid, you're impressionable. And there was just something really
- 25:07Speaker 12: about him that was special.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it's different when you look back now because it's
- 25:12Speaker 2: so many years. But at the time he was a
- 25:14Speaker 2: very cool guy too. You learned how to be cool watching.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Him with Oh.
- 25:18Speaker 12: I mean, it's really interesting in the sixties, especially because
- 25:21Speaker 12: back then, you know, they go to Hollywood for these trips,
- 25:24Speaker 12: because the show is based in New York, and it's
- 25:26Speaker 12: the smoking and the drinking and the suits, and it's
- 25:29Speaker 12: like people like Dean Martin and Buddy Hackett and Rickles.
- 25:33Speaker 12: It was definitely this hip party and then, as you've
- 25:36Speaker 12: mentioned many times, in New York, it's this very high
- 25:38Speaker 12: brows show with you know, people like Jimmy Breslin and
- 25:42Speaker 12: Gorda Badal. At the same time, he could have the
- 25:45Speaker 12: funniest people like Rodney Dangerfield on, and I mean, I
- 25:48Speaker 12: think he just had such a good variety of guests.
- 25:51Speaker 12: His one only criteria for a guest was excellence. If
- 25:55Speaker 12: you were good at what you did. It didn't didn't
- 25:57Speaker 12: have to be Johnny's taste in music or whatever you did.
- 26:00Speaker 9: He wanted you on.
- 26:01Speaker 12: The show was about excellence.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, the book, you should get the book. It's
- 26:05Speaker 2: called Love Johnny Carson. It's a massive book with great pictures.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Everything you would want to know about Johnny Carson is
- 26:11Speaker 2: called love Johnny Carson. But he was also I was
- 26:14Speaker 2: a little kid. You know. He was the guy that
- 26:16Speaker 2: introduced us to everybody. He's the one that introduced you
- 26:19Speaker 2: to Don Rickles and Buddy Hackett and all those guys.
- 26:22Speaker 12: But tell us about that part of it, yeah, I
- 26:26Speaker 12: mean definitely. In terms of the comedians. The one thing
- 26:29Speaker 12: that I that I really stuck out to me when
- 26:31Speaker 12: I talked to famous comedians especially is there was the
- 26:35Speaker 12: introducing of comics. I would talk to people like Drew Carrier,
- 26:39Speaker 12: talk to people like Bob Saget, and they would highlight
- 26:41Speaker 12: their TV guide when a comic would be on, and
- 26:43Speaker 12: it would be their introduction. And you know, everyone was
- 26:46Speaker 12: making their debut, everyone from Flip Wilson who said Johnny
- 26:49Speaker 12: did more for comedians than anybody I know. I mean
- 26:52Speaker 12: Flip ended up with his own show on a NBC
- 26:55Speaker 12: and his winning Emmys, David Letterman for appearances and his
- 26:59Speaker 12: guest hosting the shown Before He Knows It launches his career,
- 27:02Speaker 12: and it was just it was uniquely Johnny. I mean,
- 27:05Speaker 12: even people like Jimmy Buffett who told me he was
- 27:08Speaker 12: so excited to talk to me. I said, mister Buffett,
- 27:10Speaker 12: why would you be excited to talk to me? And
- 27:11Speaker 12: he said, going on Carson was the biggest break of
- 27:13Speaker 12: my career. And no one has ever asked me about it,
- 27:16Speaker 12: no journalist, no one has ever asked.
- 27:18Speaker 1: And it was one of.
- 27:19Speaker 12: Those things where he introduced music, He introduced people like
- 27:22Speaker 12: Ross Perrot, the first billionaire. He was in New York
- 27:26Speaker 12: and they had him on, and that was he showed
- 27:28Speaker 12: up without any security. He showed up for his pre interview,
- 27:31Speaker 12: and that was his introduction to so many people that
- 27:35Speaker 12: became iconic.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, obviously Ed McMahon a big part of the show.
- 27:40Speaker 2: No longer with us. But Doc Severnson is alive, isn't he?
- 27:44Speaker 12: Doc has he is in Tennessee. We've talked on the
- 27:46Speaker 12: phone a bunch of times, and he's been on the
- 27:47Speaker 12: Carson podcast, and yeah, Doc, you know, I don't know
- 27:51Speaker 12: if he's still you know, unfortunately, you know, Carson's no
- 27:54Speaker 12: longer with us. He would have been one hundred years
- 27:56Speaker 12: old yesterday. But I think I can still get the
- 27:59Speaker 12: sense talking to Doc that he just how much he
- 28:02Speaker 12: misses Johnny. I don't think that hurt ever went away.
- 28:04Speaker 12: I mean they were really close. Now, Ed McMahon would
- 28:07Speaker 12: say that that him and Johnny were close, and they
- 28:09Speaker 12: definitely had a bond. But you know, Johnny and Doc
- 28:13Speaker 12: would go on vacation with the wives. Where Ed and
- 28:15Speaker 12: Johnny were tight back in the New York days, especially
- 28:18Speaker 12: when they were hosting an ABC show called Who Do
- 28:20Speaker 12: You Trust on forty fourth Street which is now the
- 28:23Speaker 12: Helen Hayes Theater. They go to Sarti's in between shows.
- 28:25Speaker 12: But they kind of grew apart a little bit. Yeah,
- 28:28Speaker 12: when they moved to Burbank. But Doc, his memory, his
- 28:30Speaker 12: recall is unbelievable. I mean Doc was with Steve Allen.
- 28:33Speaker 12: I mean he and Peter Lesally are really build the
- 28:37Speaker 12: lone people that are still with us, Thank goodness.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Yeah, if you listen to the Carson podcast, which you should,
- 28:42Speaker 2: how many you did like three four episodes with Doc
- 28:45Speaker 2: telling all his story.
- 28:46Speaker 12: Yeah, it was with Doc a bunch of episodes, and
- 28:48Speaker 12: we are actually going to be releasing some new conversations
- 28:51Speaker 12: on the Carson Podcast. We did almost four hundred episodes
- 28:54Speaker 12: and then I did a lot of additional episodes or
- 28:57Speaker 12: in reviews for the book. People like Jay Leno, people
- 29:00Speaker 12: like Mario Andretti who taught Johnny Carson had to drag
- 29:03Speaker 12: race in Indianapolis Speed Highway in the sixties when Johnny
- 29:07Speaker 12: did a big stump, which was fun. So a lot
- 29:09Speaker 12: of new interviews, but yeah, I just I tried to
- 29:12Speaker 12: talk to as many people and then we're going to
- 29:14Speaker 12: be talking to a lot of new people as well.
- 29:16Speaker 12: That it's going to be on the Carson Podcast, so
- 29:18Speaker 12: stay tuned for that. But yeah, the stories are to
- 29:21Speaker 12: be told. I mean, the people that just tell me
- 29:23Speaker 12: it was the greatest time of their life. Yeah, there's
- 29:26Speaker 12: just it's endless.
- 29:28Speaker 2: People pick on today's late night shows, but not to
- 29:32Speaker 2: pick on the host. But it's not their fault. The
- 29:34Speaker 2: bigness is gone. It's no longer a massive audience, no
- 29:37Speaker 2: longer these huge, big name stars. What do you think
- 29:41Speaker 2: the future is of late night? It may not last
- 29:43Speaker 2: much longer.
- 29:44Speaker 9: I'm not I don't.
- 29:45Speaker 12: I just the business model seems network TV. The ratings
- 29:48Speaker 12: just keep going down every year. I just don't think
- 29:50Speaker 12: it's probably sustainable. I mean, let's let's look at this.
- 29:54Speaker 12: Johnny at one point was what twenty five percent of
- 29:56Speaker 12: all of NBC's profits. I mean, he was doing an
- 29:59Speaker 12: hour in forty five minutes when he started in New York.
- 30:03Speaker 12: I mean he became NBC's cash cow.
- 30:05Speaker 7: This was a guy.
- 30:05Speaker 12: When he started that the critics were like, is he
- 30:07Speaker 12: gonna last? Or we're gonna is NBC going to bring
- 30:10Speaker 12: merv Griffin And there were rumors Jack Parr was going
- 30:13Speaker 12: to come back. And Carson didn't even have his own
- 30:16Speaker 12: bathroom in his office at NBC when he started in
- 30:19Speaker 12: his dressing room, he had to go to the men's
- 30:20Speaker 12: room with the key, and it was with all the employees.
- 30:23Speaker 12: They did not treat him like a star. So he's
- 30:25Speaker 12: about nineteen sixty ford he breaks Judy Garland's record at
- 30:28Speaker 12: the Sahara Hotel in Vegas. He starts to get more power,
- 30:32Speaker 12: and once he starts to get more power and creative
- 30:34Speaker 12: power from the network and just was became NBC's cash cow.
- 30:38Speaker 12: The tie change. By nineteen eighty he gets the ownership
- 30:42Speaker 12: of his show, which was completely unheard of, and NBC
- 30:45Speaker 12: is essentially working for Johnny. It's the polar opposite and
- 30:48Speaker 12: just that domination of a network. I don't think we'll
- 30:51Speaker 12: see that again.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Hey, we don't have much time with David you mentioned
- 30:55Speaker 2: it's the hundredth birthday of Johnny Carson. What is going
- 30:58Speaker 2: on to celebrate that.
- 31:00Speaker 12: Yeah, yesterday they did a big thing at Johnny's alma
- 31:02Speaker 12: mater at Lincoln I'm in the University of Nebraska. They
- 31:05Speaker 12: had some former Carson guests. They had Marilyn May who
- 31:08Speaker 12: went on the show, a lout who was a singer.
- 31:10Speaker 12: They had a comedian named Pat Hazel who was on
- 31:13Speaker 12: Carol Leafer. Lance Burden maybe had an amazing Carson debut
- 31:17Speaker 12: as a magician. So they have that going on. And
- 31:20Speaker 12: I did a nice book signing last night. We have
- 31:22Speaker 12: We were packed signing books uptown in Manhattan. So yeah,
- 31:26Speaker 12: I've been just seeing so many people posting about Carson,
- 31:29Speaker 12: about the centennial, just about how much he's missed. And
- 31:32Speaker 12: the official Johnny Carson YouTube channel has over a million subscribers,
- 31:36Speaker 12: and it just tells you how much people miss this man.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Yeah, it's great stuff on YouTube. We're out of time,
- 31:40Speaker 2: but we'll do this again soon. But everybody love that Mark.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Thank you for your generosa. You've been such a pal
- 31:46Speaker 2: on great phone. Everybody get the book. Ordered the book.
- 31:48Speaker 2: It's called Love Johnny Carson. It's a long detail. It's
- 31:52Speaker 2: everything you'd want to know about Johnny Carson. It's fascinating.
- 31:55Speaker 2: It's called Love Johnny Carson. And listen to the Carson Podcast,
- 31:59Speaker 2: hundreds of episodes. You'll love this podcast. And Mark Malcoff,
- 32:03Speaker 2: thanks for the book, Thanks for.
- 32:05Speaker 12: The podcast, Thanks Mark for everything, Thanks for your support.
- 32:08Speaker 2: We'll talk to him. Thank you, all right, take care, Yeah,
- 32:11Speaker 2: get the book, you'll love it. Hey, coming up at
- 32:14Speaker 2: noon today, don't forget. It's Buck and Clay, excellent show
- 32:16Speaker 2: every day at twelve noon. Sean Hannity at three, the
- 32:19Speaker 2: most listened to radio show in America, Jesse Kelly at six,
- 32:23Speaker 2: Jimmy Fayala at nine o'clock at excellent show every night,
- 32:27Speaker 2: nine o'clock on seven to ten WR.
- 32:31Speaker 1: He's more Mark, So mark'simone show on seven ten WR.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Well, Hey, it's gonna be a nice weekend. I mean,
- 32:41Speaker 2: it's not summer anymore. It's pretty obvious, but it's just
- 32:44Speaker 2: like a fall weekend, like upper fifties. And actually the
- 32:47Speaker 2: leaves are right about peak. This is like the peak
- 32:50Speaker 2: weekend around here for leaf watching if you like staring
- 32:54Speaker 2: at leaves. But a lot of people do, so we
- 32:56Speaker 2: got a lot to get to in the next hour,
- 32:58Speaker 2: and we'll get to it right after the news. We're
- 33:00Speaker 2: here every day ten to noon on seven to ten wrmorn.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Similar on seven ten.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Well, it's Friday. Now Tomorrow Saturday, and it's the first
- 33:15Speaker 2: day of early voting mayoral race. The election actually begins tomorrow.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Voting starts tomorrow and it goes for ten days. Get
- 33:22Speaker 2: out there and vote. Vote for Curtis. We think he'd
- 33:25Speaker 2: be the best mayor. But tomorrow is the first day. Well,
- 33:30Speaker 2: we'll get back to the merrial race. Now. The shutdown
- 33:34Speaker 2: has been on for two weeks. This is the big
- 33:37Speaker 2: payday normally for government employees. They're going to miss a
- 33:39Speaker 2: payday to day, and they tried to take votes every
- 33:43Speaker 2: day to what they want to do. Republicans sign what
- 33:46Speaker 2: do they call that? A clean cry? They've all this jargon,
- 33:50Speaker 2: but what it means is they'd extend the talks. He
- 33:52Speaker 2: signed this thing and it extends everything for seven weeks.
- 33:55Speaker 2: That gives you a chance to negotiate. Every time they
- 33:58Speaker 2: bring this up for a vote, Democrats voted down. They
- 34:01Speaker 2: don't want the extension. President Trump tries to explain why.
- 34:05Speaker 13: I think the Democrats have gone totally crazy. And you
- 34:09Speaker 13: don't know what they're going to do because they don't
- 34:12Speaker 13: care about the people.
- 34:14Speaker 10: They don't.
- 34:15Speaker 13: I really think they have no leadership. They have a
- 34:18Speaker 13: lot of very low IQ people.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Well, you do have some low IQ people, you got
- 34:23Speaker 2: a lot of those aocs. But the real problem is
- 34:25Speaker 2: no leadership. You don't have a clear leader. In the
- 34:28Speaker 2: good old days, it was somebody like Chuck Schumer. Now
- 34:31Speaker 2: he's like an old, washed up has been who's so terrified.
- 34:34Speaker 2: He knows it's over, he knows he can't run for reelection.
- 34:38Speaker 2: AOC has already out raised him like ten to one
- 34:40Speaker 2: in money, and then you got Hakeem Jefferies is not
- 34:43Speaker 2: really a leader. He's trying to be. He's trying to
- 34:45Speaker 2: look serious and look like he has some gravitas, but
- 34:49Speaker 2: not pulling it off at all. So without the leadership,
- 34:52Speaker 2: they can't seem to get anything done. And that's another
- 34:54Speaker 2: problem the Republicans have. There's really nobody to negotiate with.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Schumer is not free to even be Schumer. He's just
- 35:01Speaker 2: so terrified of the left. And that's the problem. So
- 35:06Speaker 2: we'll see, we'll see what happens. You know, this all
- 35:08Speaker 2: started over the healthcare stuff. And it was all caused
- 35:11Speaker 2: by the Obamacare prices going crazy. They were just getting
- 35:16Speaker 2: out of control, and they've got to be something's got
- 35:19Speaker 2: to be done to get them back under control. The
- 35:21Speaker 2: premiums are just going through the roof. Everything has gone crazy.
- 35:25Speaker 2: You remember what they called Obamacare, Remember what the original
- 35:28Speaker 2: name was, the Affordable Care Act. It was supposed to
- 35:31Speaker 2: start that way, but the prices on it went up
- 35:35Speaker 2: like seven hundred percent, and it's unaffordable now. You remember
- 35:38Speaker 2: the other thing that was billed as is you like
- 35:41Speaker 2: your doctor, you can keep your doctor. You like your plan,
- 35:43Speaker 2: you can keep your plan. Well, nobody ever saw their
- 35:46Speaker 2: doctor again. All of a sudden, you're in some weird network.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Everybody lost their plan that was under it. It's just
- 35:52Speaker 2: a mess. It needs to be fixed by both sides.
- 35:55Speaker 2: But somebody's got to give it and sign that extension.
- 35:58Speaker 2: It give you a few more weeks to talk about it. Hey,
- 36:02Speaker 2: this big NBA scandal. You know, I like Stephen A. Smith,
- 36:07Speaker 2: but sometimes he can say the dumbest things. You know,
- 36:10Speaker 2: he looks like a smart guy and he's always well
- 36:13Speaker 2: dressed and artickled, and then every so of he just
- 36:15Speaker 2: says the dumbest stuff. So he's getting a lot of
- 36:18Speaker 2: flack from yesterday because he I don't know what he
- 36:22Speaker 2: was thinking this whole NBA scandal. He was trying to
- 36:25Speaker 2: blame it on Trump. He said, it's Trump that caused this.
- 36:28Speaker 2: It's retribution from Trump. Cash Brittel, FBI director, he said,
- 36:33Speaker 2: it's about the dumbest comment he's ever heard. This investigation
- 36:37Speaker 2: was started by Joe Biden's administration. The Trump administration just inherited.
- 36:41Speaker 2: It's been going on for about two years. Trump's only
- 36:45Speaker 2: been there whatever it is, eight months, nine months. But again,
- 36:50Speaker 2: this whole it's operation whatever the hell they call it,
- 36:52Speaker 2: it's a Biden era investigation. Most of it done during
- 36:56Speaker 2: the Biden era, so that nothing to do with whatsoever
- 37:03Speaker 2: Stephen A. Smith. But he hasn't apologized, He hasn't said
- 37:05Speaker 2: anything about it yet. Hey, another good thing in New
- 37:09Speaker 2: York if this works, if they actually do this. They've
- 37:12Speaker 2: announced a crackdown on e bikes, those electronic bikes you
- 37:18Speaker 2: got it's just chaos in the streets. When it was
- 37:20Speaker 2: all cars, the it was just cars and all car lanes,
- 37:25Speaker 2: you would get bikes riding along the very edge by
- 37:29Speaker 2: the curb, which was that was a safer system. Now
- 37:32Speaker 2: you've got bike lanes in the middle of the street,
- 37:33Speaker 2: you got e bikes, you got scooters, you got those
- 37:37Speaker 2: what do you call those things? Those petticabs all over
- 37:39Speaker 2: the place. It's an absolute mess. It's total chaos and
- 37:43Speaker 2: no rules. It's just total chaos. Bikes going through lights,
- 37:47Speaker 2: going the wrong way, going on the sidewalk. You got
- 37:50Speaker 2: to start cracking down on this. So step number one.
- 37:52Speaker 2: There's now a fifteen mile an hour speed limit on
- 37:56Speaker 2: e bikes and they claim they'll enforce this. Now, if
- 37:59Speaker 2: they do, two things will happen. Those bikes will start
- 38:02Speaker 2: to have to behave themselves instead of running lights and
- 38:06Speaker 2: being all over the road and speeding. If that's true,
- 38:09Speaker 2: and they start cracking down giving tickets, they'll have to
- 38:11Speaker 2: do that. And the other thing that'll happen is you'll
- 38:14Speaker 2: start generating a ton of revenue because they go city
- 38:18Speaker 2: always claiming they need more revenue. Crack down on the
- 38:21Speaker 2: e bikes, the petty cabs, speeding, tickets, running lights, running
- 38:26Speaker 2: all over the place. It's a ton of revenue. You
- 38:28Speaker 2: could probably get rid of that congestion pricing. But let's
- 38:31Speaker 2: see if they do it. Let's see if they really
- 38:33Speaker 2: crack down. Also, make all those bikes and everything get licenses.
- 38:36Speaker 2: It's another source of revenue. You have to pay for
- 38:39Speaker 2: a license every year. Now, speaking of congestion pricing, you'll
- 38:43Speaker 2: notice in the debate, Mom Donnie said he would keep
- 38:46Speaker 2: the congestion pricing. Is all for it. But you'll notice
- 38:48Speaker 2: Cuomo said that too. I guess he thought he had
- 38:51Speaker 2: to since he created it. He's the guy that gave
- 38:54Speaker 2: us congestion pricing. He's the one that pushed it through,
- 38:57Speaker 2: got it passed, and then Hokal used it. But he
- 39:01Speaker 2: said he would keep it. He's all for it. Mayoral race,
- 39:06Speaker 2: I don't know. Eric Adams yesterday endorsing Cuomo. He says
- 39:10Speaker 2: he'll go out and campaign with him. I don't know
- 39:12Speaker 2: how much that helps. Adams was in single digits, but
- 39:15Speaker 2: he's gonna fight for Cuomo.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Am I angry that I'm not the one taking down Zoran,
- 39:20Speaker 3: the socialists and the communists. You're dawn right, I am,
- 39:24Speaker 3: but you know what the city means more to me
- 39:26Speaker 3: than anything, and it is time for us as a
- 39:30Speaker 3: family to come together.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it's on principle, But on the other hand, remember
- 39:35Speaker 2: there were massive, big, big donors with billions of dollars,
- 39:40Speaker 2: trying to spread it around, trying to do whatever they
- 39:42Speaker 2: could to help Cuomo get Curtis out whatever. Who knows,
- 39:45Speaker 2: Who knows why Adams is suddenly on board? Who knows?
- 39:48Speaker 6: Corrupt birds of a feather flock to get That's cursed
- 39:52Speaker 6: about that?
- 39:53Speaker 2: Any thought he.
- 39:53Speaker 6: Who was going to vote Ferrick Adams? I have to
- 39:56Speaker 6: wonder with they've been these last four year trust he
- 40:01Speaker 6: is the most corrupt man in the history.
- 40:03Speaker 10: Of New York.
- 40:04Speaker 6: So Hey, Andrew Plumbo, you can have whatever votes he had.
- 40:08Speaker 6: I don't ever want Errik Adams boots.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Now, you gotta admit Adams when he took office put
- 40:14Speaker 2: in some of the sleaziest people. The first few years
- 40:18Speaker 2: of the Adams administration. In fact, how many of them
- 40:20Speaker 2: got indicted, how many of them got arrested, how many
- 40:22Speaker 2: of them are going to trial? It was pretty bad.
- 40:25Speaker 2: But the last year Adams straightened out and it became
- 40:30Speaker 2: pretty good. He brought in Randy Mastro to be the
- 40:33Speaker 2: deputy mayor running things. Mastro is great. You couldn't ask
- 40:37Speaker 2: for a better guy to run city Hall. He was
- 40:39Speaker 2: Giuliani's guy for eight years and then he brought in
- 40:42Speaker 2: Jessica Tish, excellent police commissioner and under the first few
- 40:48Speaker 2: years of Adams, there was tremendous corruption in the NYPD
- 40:52Speaker 2: at very high levels. But Jessica Tish came in and
- 40:55Speaker 2: cleaned it out. It was about ten or fifteen people
- 40:58Speaker 2: and she fired him all some of them pretty big people.
- 41:00Speaker 2: But she immediately give her credit, cleaned it up. So Adams.
- 41:04Speaker 2: The last six months things have been fine. Now Cuomo
- 41:08Speaker 2: has said he will keep Jessica Tish and Mom Donnie
- 41:11Speaker 2: shocked a lot of people in the debate by saying
- 41:14Speaker 2: he will keep Jessica Tish. If that's the case, that
- 41:17Speaker 2: would reassure a lot of people. But if you go
- 41:20Speaker 2: back and play the video again and analyze it, he
- 41:24Speaker 2: didn't exactly say he would definitely keep her. He said
- 41:28Speaker 2: he would consider keeping. There was some wiggle room in it.
- 41:32Speaker 2: There was some weasel room. And even if he said
- 41:35Speaker 2: I will ask her to stay on, well, what does
- 41:39Speaker 2: that mean for a week, for a month? Fire her
- 41:41Speaker 2: in six months? Obviously, if you had your own idea
- 41:44Speaker 2: for a commissioner, you would take office and she would
- 41:46Speaker 2: stay on until you're whoever your replacement is was ready.
- 41:50Speaker 2: So would she stay on? What you want to stay with?
- 41:53Speaker 2: Mom Donnie, Well, that's the problem. She did work under Deblasio,
- 41:56Speaker 2: which was pretty bad, and she did take over in
- 42:01Speaker 2: the Atoms when things were still a mess there. But
- 42:05Speaker 2: she would stay on. But you never know. If he
- 42:07Speaker 2: starts interfering, if he starts tampering and things, starts restricting
- 42:10Speaker 2: the police, she'd probably, knowing her, she would quit on
- 42:13Speaker 2: principle and not put up with it. Donald Trump Junior,
- 42:16Speaker 2: weighing in on Mom Donnie.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Perhaps it's exactly what we need as a country.
- 42:20Speaker 14: You know, you hate to see New York failure, the
- 42:23Speaker 14: birthplace off Wall Street, the birthplace of American capitalism, go
- 42:27Speaker 14: down in flames. But perhaps that's the lesson we all
- 42:30Speaker 14: have to see. If the rest of the country watches
- 42:32Speaker 14: New York fail, and I believe it will under these
- 42:35Speaker 14: disastrous ideas, you know, maybe that's what we need to
- 42:39Speaker 14: stop the spread of this scourge, of this disease of
- 42:43Speaker 14: communism in America.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Well he's not alone. I mean, I don't know about that,
- 42:47Speaker 2: but there's some people that think that it's better to
- 42:49Speaker 2: get Mom Donnie. Let him be a total disaster. Everybody's
- 42:53Speaker 2: been trying to figure out what to do about the
- 42:55Speaker 2: Democratic this woke, crazy, insane, far left nonsense. Even a
- 43:01Speaker 2: lot of Democrats are trying to figure out how to
- 43:03Speaker 2: stop it. So maybe a total Mom Donni disaster. But
- 43:07Speaker 2: we've already tested it, We've already watched it. It happened in Chicago,
- 43:10Speaker 2: it happened in San Francisco, It's happened all over the place,
- 43:13Speaker 2: and it doesn't seem to be a lesson that resonates anywhere.
- 43:17Speaker 2: From what I hear, you know, Mam Donnie is funded.
- 43:21Speaker 2: There's a lot of money funding Mom Donnie, a lot
- 43:23Speaker 2: of George Soros type money flowing in millions, many, many millions.
- 43:28Speaker 2: And from what I hear, they got another twenty six,
- 43:30Speaker 2: Mom Donnie's ready to go. They'll run them in other cities.
- 43:35Speaker 2: You know, they got them like a central training headquarters
- 43:38Speaker 2: where they like an academy where they train them how
- 43:41Speaker 2: to be like Mom Donnie, you know, be good in
- 43:43Speaker 2: the debates, say all the right stuff, have that slick look.
- 43:46Speaker 2: There's about twenty six, Mom Donnie's ready to go. So
- 43:50Speaker 2: this idea let New York go up in flames. So
- 43:53Speaker 2: everybody sees it, learns their lesson it's great, but not
- 43:58Speaker 2: for us. We're going to have to live through this
- 44:00Speaker 2: if it is Mom Donnie. I just remember we got
- 44:04Speaker 2: through eight years at the Blasio. We made it through
- 44:06Speaker 2: the Blasio, so you never know. Mam Donnie was using that.
- 44:09Speaker 2: He's got a lot of commercials. Now you're seeing more
- 44:11Speaker 2: and more commercials now. Last few weeks it was mostly
- 44:14Speaker 2: Curtis running TV commercials. Now it's everybody. But there's one
- 44:18Speaker 2: Mom Donnie commercial where it uses a New York Knicks
- 44:22Speaker 2: uniform with his name on it. It implies that there's
- 44:25Speaker 2: somehow there's a New York Knicks connection to Mom Donnie.
- 44:28Speaker 2: The New York Knicks have sued him. They've they got
- 44:30Speaker 2: a cease and desist order. They want him to stop
- 44:33Speaker 2: using their logo, their uniform or anything in the commercials.
- 44:38Speaker 2: They want nothing, nothing to do with them. You know,
- 44:40Speaker 2: there's a candidate in Long Island who's running for a
- 44:44Speaker 2: DA or something and there's some commercial from the opposition
- 44:52Speaker 2: tying her to Mom Donnie. So she's suing the GOP.
- 44:55Speaker 2: She wants nothing to do with Mom Donnie. I think
- 44:57Speaker 2: she's a Democrat. She just wants no connection the Democrats
- 45:00Speaker 2: suing the GOP for trying to connect her in any
- 45:03Speaker 2: way to Mom Donnie. So again he's very, very unpopular
- 45:09Speaker 2: with a lot of Democrats too. Hey remember Bob Menendez.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Bob Menendez who went to jail. He's the senator with
- 45:17Speaker 2: the gold bars. We're recommending books today. There's a great
- 45:21Speaker 2: book that just came out Isabelle Vincent, big, big investigative
- 45:26Speaker 2: reporter in New York Post, and she's written a lot
- 45:29Speaker 2: of great books. She's written books about all sorts of stuff.
- 45:31Speaker 2: But her new book is called Gold Bar Bob. If
- 45:35Speaker 2: you want the real Bob Menendez story, and by the way,
- 45:39Speaker 2: if you're a movie producer, you might want to get
- 45:41Speaker 2: this book. It'd be a great movie. Gold Bar Bob
- 45:43Speaker 2: goes through the whole Menendez story. But you got to
- 45:47Speaker 2: read this because it takes you all through this New
- 45:49Speaker 2: Jersey mafia connection, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East,
- 45:54Speaker 2: the personal campaign contributions, the way he aided others, interfered
- 45:59Speaker 2: in criminal prosecutions, defrauded medicare questionable visa. It's fascinating stuff.
- 46:06Speaker 2: But take a look at this book. It's called Gold
- 46:09Speaker 2: Bar Bob. Downfall of the Most Corrupt Us Senator. So
- 46:13Speaker 2: if you're in New Jersey, you might want to read
- 46:16Speaker 2: or anyway, gold bar Bob speaking in New Jersey. Looks
- 46:20Speaker 2: like it's tied. You don't have any definitive polling there,
- 46:25Speaker 2: but it's very, very close. Chitarelly just lost by a little.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Now here's the problem. Nothing personal in New Jersey, but
- 46:34Speaker 2: your voting system. There's a lot of funny business goes
- 46:37Speaker 2: on in New Jersey. Even democrats I'm talking about the
- 46:41Speaker 2: insiders will tell you officials, people that know all this stuff.
- 46:47Speaker 2: You know, you can't win by one two percent. It
- 46:50Speaker 2: won't cover the cheating in the New Jersey voting system.
- 46:53Speaker 2: You got to win by like three, four or five
- 46:55Speaker 2: percent to cover that. So so far Chittarelly hasn't been
- 46:58Speaker 2: able to get that kind of lead. Hey, we'll take
- 47:01Speaker 2: some calls in a minute, eight hundred three to two,
- 47:03Speaker 2: one zero seven ten oh. And by the way, in
- 47:06Speaker 2: a few minutes, we'll talk to the greatest polster in
- 47:08Speaker 2: the world and see what he knows about the New
- 47:10Speaker 2: York race and New Jersey race. We'll get to all
- 47:12Speaker 2: of that coming up, but we'll take some calls next
- 47:15Speaker 2: eight hundred three to two, one zero seven ten.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Get instant access to Mark by setting a free set
- 47:23Speaker 1: in the iHeartRadio app for his live show and his podcast.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simone show on woor.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike,
- 47:35Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 47:37Speaker 10: Good morning Mark.
- 47:38Speaker 1: That's Mike got to pass line eight.
- 47:43Speaker 9: I was going to ask you if you want to.
- 47:45Speaker 12: Die Clerry Como because I was out on YouTube is
- 47:48Speaker 12: today listening to some of my favorites of his new
- 47:50Speaker 12: on and round being my number one is this wonder.
- 47:53Speaker 9: If you know him?
- 47:54Speaker 2: Oh I knew Perry Como. Yeah, you lived in Sands
- 47:56Speaker 2: Point Long Island much of his life and then he
- 47:59Speaker 2: moved to Florida, Jupiter, Florida. He was a great guy,
- 48:03Speaker 2: one of the few though exactly the same as off
- 48:07Speaker 2: the air as on the air. Great singer, and people
- 48:10Speaker 2: forget late fifties, like nineteen fifty five to sixty one.
- 48:13Speaker 2: He was like the number one show on television. Part
- 48:17Speaker 2: of that time. He was on against Jackie Gleason and
- 48:18Speaker 2: the Honeymooners and he beat them every week. He was phenomenal.
- 48:22Speaker 2: And yeah, go on YouTube, take a look at some
- 48:24Speaker 2: old Perry Como shows. It was quite revolutionary for its time.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Let's go to George Port Jefferson. George, how you doing.
- 48:32Speaker 10: Hi, I'm watching the two good new friends Culomo with Adams. Yeah,
- 48:37Speaker 10: they like best buds.
- 48:39Speaker 9: They could double date two eligible bats.
- 48:42Speaker 10: Maybe Curtis could introduce them to tool of Well.
- 48:45Speaker 2: You gotta remember there's big billionaire donor money floating around
- 48:48Speaker 2: and helped Cuomo Adams. Well you do the math. Let's
- 48:53Speaker 2: go to uh Mara in Nevada.
- 48:55Speaker 15: Mara, how you doing, macam I'm calling about it a
- 48:59Speaker 15: gambling story. First, I want to welcome Christina. She called
- 49:03Speaker 15: the other day. She said she's ninety two. She is
- 49:06Speaker 15: now a member of Marks Golden All these fantom fuck
- 49:09Speaker 15: Here's my gambling story. Back in the fifties, my father
- 49:13Speaker 15: was retired. We go to Florida work in a hotel
- 49:16Speaker 15: cateringto Armenians. He was the busboy at the illegal poker
- 49:20Speaker 15: games that year and he brings sandwiches and things they
- 49:23Speaker 15: tip them. That year he came home with the DeSoto,
- 49:27Speaker 15: not Brandon, but now two years later, one of the
- 49:29Speaker 15: guys that pulled to me favor here's the d to
- 49:32Speaker 15: my house, lent me three thousand dollars man, my father thought, good, yeah,
- 49:37Speaker 15: if I don't pay you with six months since suarts,
- 49:40Speaker 15: my father had a house in Kendall, Florida in six months.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Wow.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Did he work with Moe Green or Afredo or right?
- 49:47Speaker 15: There could have been, but there were Armenians there. You know,
- 49:49Speaker 15: there's the Armenian mafia too.
- 49:51Speaker 2: Mark, all right, well, thanks for calling. Let's go to
- 49:54Speaker 2: UH Michael and Queen's Michael. How you doing?
- 49:58Speaker 9: Hello? How are you doing? You?
- 49:59Speaker 16: Hear me more?
- 50:00Speaker 2: Yeah? Go ahead.
- 50:01Speaker 16: I want to just I just want to commend you
- 50:03Speaker 16: of being the only guy in New York City Monday
- 50:06Speaker 16: when you got it right when you said that the survey,
- 50:08Speaker 16: that poll that everybody was basing UH that Curtis back
- 50:12Speaker 16: out of was based by and run by Lobbyistomo. I
- 50:17Speaker 16: congratulate you and.
- 50:17Speaker 9: The only guy.
- 50:18Speaker 2: Do we get do we bleep that out? Yeah? And
- 50:20Speaker 2: then stop picking on him. He's our friend. Let's go
- 50:23Speaker 2: to UH Sandy in West New York, New Jersey.
- 50:29Speaker 9: Good morning, Yes, Mark.
- 50:32Speaker 14: I wanted to tell you that I learned that.
- 50:36Speaker 9: The UH. The first of all, I want to say,
- 50:39Speaker 9: the Orthodox you is very concerned about this selection, very
- 50:43Speaker 9: much so that.
- 50:45Speaker 2: Oh it's this Sandy. Sorry. Let's go to uh uh
- 50:50Speaker 2: Anthony and Edison Anthony. She always disguises himself.
- 50:57Speaker 10: The Democrats over here in New Jersey.
- 51:00Speaker 9: The lay Trump out saying that he Spikefuly canceled this
- 51:03Speaker 9: gateway project. I'm one of you. Got to give me
- 51:06Speaker 9: the stinty on that.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he canceled the Gateway project. This is part of
- 51:11Speaker 2: fighting back in the shutdown. It's canceled until it's uncanceled.
- 51:16Speaker 2: End the shutdown, start negotiating, and the Gateway project is back.
- 51:21Speaker 2: And that's the way Trump does things. He starts the
- 51:24Speaker 2: negotiation by taking away something. It just gives him more
- 51:29Speaker 2: power than negotiation. You know, you go into the negotiation saying, well,
- 51:36Speaker 2: if it gets really bad, I'll threaten to soothe him
- 51:41Speaker 2: if it gets really bad. Now what Trump does. He
- 51:45Speaker 2: sues you before he even shows up, so the lawsuit
- 51:48Speaker 2: is on. Then he goes into negotiation, and he's got
- 51:51Speaker 2: some leverage he can offer to drop the suit. It's
- 51:55Speaker 2: just the way he negotiates, and he's been very successful
- 51:58Speaker 2: at it. Let's go to fran in Massapequa. Friend, how
- 52:02Speaker 2: you doing, my man mark? How are you keep up?
- 52:05Speaker 17: To keep up the great work?
- 52:09Speaker 2: You're a beacon of truth. Oh right, there's gonna be
- 52:12Speaker 2: a button here. Good Yeah, no, no bucks.
- 52:17Speaker 17: I want to know why when they showed the No
- 52:19Speaker 17: Kings March and most of the liberal protests, there are
- 52:23Speaker 17: a lot of white, fat liberal women, young pinkhead you know, girlies,
- 52:30Speaker 17: and some boys.
- 52:32Speaker 2: People keep asking that how come it was so white,
- 52:36Speaker 2: so old that No Kings March. You gotta remember, these
- 52:39Speaker 2: are older. It's these are people have nothing to do
- 52:42Speaker 2: all day. They're not working, they've they've got no nothing
- 52:44Speaker 2: going on. They're retired, they're sitting at home all day
- 52:47Speaker 2: getting old riled up. They're watching MSNBC and CNN. You
- 52:50Speaker 2: know the average age of the MSNBC viewer. I think
- 52:53Speaker 2: it's seventy two now, No, seriously, and uh, it's an older, older,
- 52:58Speaker 2: older crowd that march. You know, if you're younger, you
- 53:03Speaker 2: got more going on. You're busy, you don't have time
- 53:06Speaker 2: to go to a No King's March. So it was
- 53:09Speaker 2: a very old crowd, and they put on those crazy
- 53:12Speaker 2: costumes and the whole thing. It just looked like Halloween
- 53:15Speaker 2: at the Senior Center. It was just absolutely ridiculous. Hey,
- 53:18Speaker 2: when we come back, we haven't had any real polls
- 53:21Speaker 2: in this race. There's these junk college polls and these
- 53:25Speaker 2: little nothing polling companies you never heard of. We'll talk
- 53:29Speaker 2: to the greatest pollster in the world next on seven
- 53:33Speaker 2: to ten. WR.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Let's get back to the Mark Simone Show on wo on.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Well, you know, you see these media polls, college polls,
- 53:44Speaker 2: they're all terrible, just these junk poles. You see polling
- 53:46Speaker 2: companies you never heard of. The biggest and best pollster
- 53:49Speaker 2: in the world is John McLaughlin. This is the one
- 53:51Speaker 2: presidents and prime ministers and the biggest campaigns us John
- 53:56Speaker 2: McLaughlin hiss. The website is McLaughlin online dot com and
- 54:01Speaker 2: he's with us now, John McLaughlin, how you doing.
- 54:04Speaker 9: I'm doing well because you say very nice, flattering things.
- 54:08Speaker 9: But I'm fortunate that I've polled for Donald Trump. And
- 54:12Speaker 9: as you and I have discussed before, President Trump proved
- 54:15Speaker 9: that polls rite a long time ago in twenty sixteen
- 54:18Speaker 9: and has done so since. So I guess, yeah, we'll
- 54:22Speaker 9: see about now he's talking, you know, some of his
- 54:25Speaker 9: friends are talking to him about twenty twenty eight. We'll see. Well,
- 54:29Speaker 9: but I think I think, yeah, I don't think that's
- 54:32Speaker 9: I don't think that's going to happen. So that's what
- 54:35Speaker 9: I get to listen to the nice things people say
- 54:37Speaker 9: about our polls, because last year we said he was
- 54:40Speaker 9: going to sweep the battleground states and when the popular
- 54:42Speaker 9: vote and he proved that true.
- 54:44Speaker 2: Yeah, just explained to people these public polls they're cheap, flimsy.
- 54:47Speaker 2: They're like five hundred people, a thousand people. It's not
- 54:50Speaker 2: always likely voters. I mean, what you do is much
- 54:52Speaker 2: more scientific, elaborate, much much bigger scale. So but we
- 54:57Speaker 2: haven't had a real poll from a real uh they
- 55:00Speaker 2: call the internals by any of the campaigns. Have we.
- 55:05Speaker 9: Not really And when you're looking at I mean when
- 55:07Speaker 9: you look at national polls, like they've gone back to
- 55:11Speaker 9: their bias against the president and they're kind of right.
- 55:14Speaker 9: It could be I llegal immigrant, they have cell phones.
- 55:17Speaker 9: I mean, it's serious. Some of these polls, like there
- 55:19Speaker 9: was a poll out last week Economists. You go of online,
- 55:23Speaker 9: so there was an online poll and they had when
- 55:25Speaker 9: you go into their internals, they have more liberal it's
- 55:28Speaker 9: so wrong. They have more liberals and conservatives. That's the
- 55:31Speaker 9: opposite of the exit polls from West November. And they
- 55:35Speaker 9: have more Democrats and Republicans. Again, it's the opposite of
- 55:38Speaker 9: the exit polse. The big killer is this economists Hugo
- 55:42Speaker 9: Poland was done like the October twentieth they and they
- 55:45Speaker 9: had that. They had like twelve hundred people, but they're
- 55:49Speaker 9: supposedly you know, adults, but they had only thirty five
- 55:55Speaker 9: percent Trump voters. We got fifty percent. So when they
- 55:59Speaker 9: come out with a job approval for President Trump of
- 56:01Speaker 9: forty three percent, it means they're short as fifteen points
- 56:05Speaker 9: just they had because nine out of ten Trump voters
- 56:10Speaker 9: still approve the job he's doing at least, if not
- 56:13Speaker 9: one hundred percent, So you get so just add fifteen
- 56:16Speaker 9: to the forty three, that'd be fifty eight. So the
- 56:19Speaker 9: better polls have them like we had in September, we
- 56:22Speaker 9: had forty nine percent job for forty six disapproved. We
- 56:25Speaker 9: had the Republicans winning for Congress forty seven to forty one.
- 56:30Speaker 9: But it was a thousand likely voters. We know the
- 56:32Speaker 9: voters were contacting the voters, We're asking them how likely
- 56:36Speaker 9: they are to vote, because it's a big difference because
- 56:38Speaker 9: in the last national election you had our hundred sixty
- 56:41Speaker 9: million people vote apartment on a hundred fifty six million
- 56:45Speaker 9: people voted. It was one hundred and sixteen twenty twenty.
- 56:48Speaker 9: So that's out of a universe of you know, like
- 56:52Speaker 9: two hundred and fifty two hundred and sixty adults in
- 56:55Speaker 9: the United States. And then when you get to when
- 56:59Speaker 9: you get to but the midterm elections, the midterm the
- 57:03Speaker 9: elections go down even further. So in twenty eighteen, one
- 57:07Speaker 9: hundred and eighteen million people come out, and in twenty
- 57:11Speaker 9: twenty two it was one hundred and twelve million. So nationally,
- 57:15Speaker 9: when you're saying a thousand likely voters trying to represent
- 57:18Speaker 9: a universe, it's the universe of probably about one hundred
- 57:21Speaker 9: and ten hundred and twenty million voters that are probably
- 57:23Speaker 9: going to come out, and poles really don't predict turnout.
- 57:26Speaker 9: You have to look at other barometers when you get
- 57:28Speaker 9: close to the election.
- 57:29Speaker 2: Well, now let me ask you about the mayoral race.
- 57:31Speaker 2: I know you haven't pulled it. Nobody's really pulled. No
- 57:33Speaker 2: real top polling companies done this mayoral race. But what
- 57:36Speaker 2: is your sense right now? Is mom Donnie on track
- 57:39Speaker 2: to win? Has he been losing steam? Is Cuomo gaining.
- 57:43Speaker 9: By the way we did Poland January for Betsy McCoy
- 57:46Speaker 9: first her Save Our City project, and back then we
- 57:49Speaker 9: had only thirty one percent of the Democrat parwer voters
- 57:52Speaker 9: preferring Cuomo. And when you have the second choice cause
- 57:56Speaker 9: that grant choice vote was only five So I told
- 57:59Speaker 9: Betsy he's not going to it's just and it seemed
- 58:04Speaker 9: to be right for the primary, but Mondombe hadn't emerged.
- 58:09Speaker 9: And when you look at the like the Fox News
- 58:11Speaker 9: pole that came out, and it was like October fourteenth
- 58:14Speaker 9: was the day that came out. The difficult part is
- 58:18Speaker 9: Mondomie's the most favorable of the candidates, so they had
- 58:21Speaker 9: Mondomie ahead, but he had a fifty eight to thirty
- 58:24Speaker 9: seven Farewell Unfairbell while Clomo in that poll was fifty
- 58:27Speaker 9: to forty eight and Curse was thirty six to fifty three. Farewell,
- 58:31Speaker 9: fun Farewell. And then there was the ar the AA
- 58:36Speaker 9: RP pole which was one thousand and forty likely voters
- 58:39Speaker 9: that Gotham did and it was mild after the last
- 58:43Speaker 9: male race was kind of a snoozer with Adams and
- 58:48Speaker 9: and so you only had a million people. So you know,
- 58:51Speaker 9: when you think about it in the city, you could
- 58:53Speaker 9: have one point eight million voted. When I was polling
- 58:56Speaker 9: for leez Elden and we were in a close race
- 58:59Speaker 9: with Hockel, there was one point eight million people came
- 59:01Speaker 9: out in the city. Or when I was pulling for
- 59:03Speaker 9: President Trump, you had two and a half million people
- 59:05Speaker 9: come out in those races. You know, Lee and President
- 59:09Speaker 9: Trump did as well as a Republican could do in
- 59:11Speaker 9: the city where we got thirty percent. And so this
- 59:15Speaker 9: aar P pole. When you're looking at it, it's probably tilted,
- 59:18Speaker 9: it is probably too old and may not be democratic enough. Yeah,
- 59:23Speaker 9: and it yeah in it, but they have they had.
- 59:27Speaker 9: That's the one that caused the stir where you had
- 59:30Speaker 9: the three whay you had a Mandamie at forty three
- 59:33Speaker 9: in Cuoma twenty nine and Curtis at nineteen. So Curtis
- 59:37Speaker 9: is running behind where Trump and Zelden were, but in
- 59:39Speaker 9: the two way. That's because it was an older sample,
- 59:43Speaker 9: maybe a little light on the Democrats. It was forty
- 59:46Speaker 9: five Mandamie forty one Cuomo, and that's when they all started.
- 59:49Speaker 9: Curtis got to get out. Now, Curtis needs to be
- 59:52Speaker 9: Curtis and Cuomo needed to be going after Mundami in
- 59:56Speaker 9: a heavy way since all summer. They should have been,
- 59:59Speaker 9: but they've been. You know, these all these people, like
- 1:00:02Speaker 9: you say, the billionaires who don't know what they're doing. Yeah,
- 1:00:04Speaker 9: they've all been playing musical chairs, saying, oh this, once
- 1:00:07Speaker 9: you get out, this, once you get out. The problem
- 1:00:09Speaker 9: is when you look at the internals of that poll,
- 1:00:11Speaker 9: Mondamie is a net positive forty eight to forty five
- 1:00:15Speaker 9: faarable to unfavorable, and Curtis is thirty five faarauell forty
- 1:00:21Speaker 9: seven unfairal So he's a net negative and Cuomo's a
- 1:00:24Speaker 9: net negative thirty seven faarabuel to forty eight unfavorable.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: But now you said, yeah, but you said, way back
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: months ago, you said, the only way to stop mom Donnie,
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: You're gonna have to have them bombard the airwaves with
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: negative ads, bring out his negatives, drive up his unfavorables.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: Where were the donors. They didn't do it, none of
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: the packs.
- 1:00:40Speaker 9: Where were they No, By the way, I don't use
- 1:00:44Speaker 9: the word negative issue adds.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Issue ads, but where were they They They sat, they
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: set it out.
- 1:00:51Speaker 9: Well, it's cheaper that way, they don't. It didn't cost
- 1:00:54Speaker 9: him anything. I mean, Cuomo wastes a lot of their
- 1:00:57Speaker 9: money in the primary and now now you know, but
- 1:01:01Speaker 9: you have you know, like we ran President Trump's campaign,
- 1:01:05Speaker 9: it was a contrast between his job as president versus
- 1:01:08Speaker 9: Biden and Harris the job they had done, and people
- 1:01:11Speaker 9: respond to issues. Now you're seeing you know, kits and
- 1:01:15Speaker 9: sink ads coming out about Mundomie's positions on the issues
- 1:01:18Speaker 9: about legalizing prostitution, it'll increase human trafficking. He wants to
- 1:01:22Speaker 9: legalize drugs, it'll increase drug use on the subways. Him
- 1:01:26Speaker 9: defunding the you know, closing jails to fund. By the way,
- 1:01:30Speaker 9: the one who won the last two mayoral debates is
- 1:01:33Speaker 9: Bruce Blakeman in NASA's Yeah, because works for Bruce out there.
- 1:01:39Speaker 9: Bruce has done a great job. He's cut taxes, he's
- 1:01:41Speaker 9: refused to raise taxes in four years. He's hired hundreds
- 1:01:45Speaker 9: of new police officers. They're the savist county in America,
- 1:01:49Speaker 9: and so Mondamie in Nassau County has a twenty five
- 1:01:53Speaker 9: favorable He has to sixty nine percent.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: Right, there's no chance of Blakeman leasing we hope.
- 1:02:00Speaker 9: Well, you can't take it for granted. It's an eight
- 1:02:01Speaker 9: point Democrats county. So there's more Democrats in Nasau than
- 1:02:05Speaker 9: there are Republicans.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: Everybody get out, Yeah, everybody vote for Bruce Blakeman. Well,
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: just about it. We got like a minute left. What
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: do you think is going to happen in this selection
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: turnout wise? Well, we get a big turnout, can make
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: a difference. You think we'll get it?
- 1:02:17Speaker 9: Well on Saturday, they start tomorrow, they start voting early,
- 1:02:20Speaker 9: so you'll have actual counts of people by party, by
- 1:02:23Speaker 9: registration by burrow. And if it's like the primary room
- 1:02:27Speaker 9: Mondamie's his nonprofits, that stores funds, et cetera. If they
- 1:02:31Speaker 9: start getting people online and voting, that won't be good
- 1:02:34Speaker 9: for Andrew Clomo, Curtis Leer. So you know, so if you,
- 1:02:40Speaker 9: if you, if you care about New York City like
- 1:02:42Speaker 9: we do, you need to make sure that it's not
- 1:02:45Speaker 9: just you know, the people organization.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Can't you got to get out and vote. Hey, Cloma
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: had a pretty good debate. Surprised everybody? Does that mean anything?
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: Is that going to help? Is it too late?
- 1:02:57Speaker 9: It definitely helps, And it's not too late until election day.
- 1:03:01Speaker 9: You gotta you know, I mean, if that forty five
- 1:03:04Speaker 9: forty one is close, you know, granted he's He's still
- 1:03:09Speaker 9: got to do a lot of issue education and a
- 1:03:11Speaker 9: short amount of time on Mondamie's on the on the
- 1:03:14Speaker 9: record between them and and and you know, that's the
- 1:03:17Speaker 9: probably that's why Curtis still has has a significant amount
- 1:03:20Speaker 9: of the vote because there's a lot of people that
- 1:03:22Speaker 9: remember Clomo was the guy who gave us cashless vail.
- 1:03:24Speaker 9: Casha's Vale has like been really bad for you. So
- 1:03:30Speaker 9: so as far as the election goes, you know, Clomo's
- 1:03:33Speaker 9: got to he's got to make up a lot of
- 1:03:35Speaker 9: ground against Mondamie where the final points could be the
- 1:03:39Speaker 9: toughest points to uh uh to recapture. And you've got
- 1:03:42Speaker 9: you know, and you got other races, like you've got
- 1:03:44Speaker 9: more Maron given Alvin Bragg a race that's been you know,
- 1:03:48Speaker 9: oh shadowed by the male race.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: It would be great everybody votes for Maud Marrin for DA,
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: get rid of Alvin Bragg, Maud Maren for DA. John McLaughlin,
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: we're out of time, but we'll do it again very
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: soon because we always want to hear from you. John McLoughlin,
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: the biggest of the best polster in the world. McLaughlin
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: online dot Com is his website. John McLaughlin. Thanks for
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: being with us.
