- 0:00Speaker 1: Time for Stacks and Hacks, you guys. Stacks and Hacks
- 0:02Speaker 1: on this September 4th. Remember how a couple weeks ago
- 0:05Speaker 1: there was a virus going around from there?
- 0:06Speaker 2: Was it Evite? Like Kyle got on?
- 0:09Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Like a scam.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Get this.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Religious websites are three times more likely to spread computer
- 0:16Speaker 1: viruses than porn sites.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Religious websites.
- 0:18Speaker 3: There was a 54% jump in ukulele sales in the
- 0:19Speaker 3: year 2013. Why?
- 0:20Speaker 2: Why?
- 0:27Speaker 1: The National Association of Music Merchants thinks it's because people
- 0:29Speaker 1: wanted to play them in quirky YouTube videos.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Okay. Yes, Noah?
- 0:34Speaker 3: 2013 is the year Riptide by Vance Joy came out,
- 0:37Speaker 3: which was the quintessential ukulele. I got caught in the Riptide.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Because then also, wasn't that Grace VanderWaal wanting all those, like,
- 0:45Speaker 3: America's Got Talent or whatever, and she was doing the ukulele? Well,
- 0:48Speaker 3: that's what happened.
- 0:49Speaker 1: There we go.
- 0:50Speaker 3: There we go.
- 0:51Speaker 2: That's why. Okay.
- 0:52Speaker 1: A 19-year-old student at Indiana University was arrested on Sunday
- 0:56Speaker 1: after he threatened to bomb the Applebee's on social media.
- 0:58Speaker 2: He told police he was mad because the food was
- 1:00Speaker 2: taking too long.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Extreme.
- 1:02Speaker 3: They're pretty quick at Applebee's, too.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Consumer Reports tested 13 electric scooters and found the best
- 1:09Speaker 1: option is none of them. They said due to their
- 1:12Speaker 1: higher speeds and increased injury data, we no longer recommend
- 1:15Speaker 1: e-scooters like the ones we were on in Austin.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I know. They are very dangerous.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Those things go fast.
- 1:20Speaker 3: They seem like they go faster than our eyes could
- 1:23Speaker 3: They're very fun, though.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Woman says her car was driven hundreds of miles and
- 1:28Speaker 1: damaged after she dropped it off for repairs at a
- 1:30Speaker 1: Boston auto shop. She even saw her car at a
- 1:33Speaker 1: red light with a woman she didn't know behind the wheel.
- 1:35Speaker 3: That's wild.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Isn't that funny? It was like my car. That is
- 1:39Speaker 2: my car. What if the cure is worse than the disease?
- 1:43Speaker 1: A cure for nut allergies might be poop pills made
- 1:45Speaker 1: from the feces of people without the allergy.
- 1:48Speaker 3: No, I just would rather not eat peanuts. I kind
- 1:51Speaker 3: of feel like I know someone who had to do that,
- 1:54Speaker 3: but for something else. And did it work out? Yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 2: It worked?
- 1:57Speaker 3: Yeah. Like she literally had to go get the poop
- 2:01Speaker 3: surgically removed and then turned it into pills and it
- 2:03Speaker 3: actually cured her GI problems.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Her own poop?
- 2:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I wonder if this is a trick here because the
- 2:10Speaker 1: world's oldest living person turned 117 last week. The woman
- 2:13Speaker 1: said she's still experiencing many firsts, including when you think
- 2:17Speaker 1: of first, you think of like my first beer, my
- 2:19Speaker 1: first whatever. This, I wouldn't put this on the list,
- 2:22Speaker 1: but stroking a llama.
- 2:24Speaker 3: No.
- 2:25Speaker 1: First time she's 117, she just stroked a llama for
- 2:27Speaker 1: the first time. You guys know Pizza Hut's changed its name?
- 2:30Speaker 3: No.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Pizza Hut's changed its name to Hut. Yeah, I saw that. Why?
- 2:34Speaker 2: Just for football season.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Hut.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Oh, clever. Okay, I get it. Hut one, Hut two.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Are they the new NFL pizza? They must be.
- 2:41Speaker 3: That's food news.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Sorry. Sorry that you're dealing with that. That's okay. I
- 2:46Speaker 2: love food news.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Do you know that it's been more than 20 years,
- 2:49Speaker 1: two decades, since a human has beaten a computer in chess?
- 2:53Speaker 2: Are you kidding? Yeah.
- 2:55Speaker 3: The end is near.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I know.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Flash to Terminator. It's time. We can never, like, outsmart
- 3:00Speaker 3: the computers.
- 3:00Speaker 2: What do you got for life hacks, Rich? All right.
- 3:02Speaker 3: School is back. And I know, John Jay, you've thought
- 3:04Speaker 3: about this. Remember your sixth grade or third grade or
- 3:06Speaker 3: even college? Eventually, somebody's going to make you stand up
- 3:10Speaker 3: in front of the class and talk.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Worst thing ever. Worst thing ever. Worst thing ever.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And like, I would give myself an example of something
- 3:16Speaker 1: terrible to say, really, that's where the, but that is the.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Worst thing ever. I hate getting up and talking in
- 3:20Speaker 2: front of people.
- 3:21Speaker 3: It's what makes most students the most nervous. And they
- 3:25Speaker 3: say that it's really the first 30 seconds that you
- 3:28Speaker 3: have to worry about. Cause once you start rolling, then
- 3:30Speaker 3: you're there, but the first 30 seconds are terrifying. So
- 3:33Speaker 3: this is the hack. It's not magic. The idea is
- 3:35Speaker 3: to give yourself a brain trick that gets your brain
- 3:39Speaker 3: thinking of something besides your speech. So pinch your nose
- 3:43Speaker 3: for a few seconds. Your brain's like, oh, yeah, I
- 3:45Speaker 3: just pinched my nose. Then let go. Take a slow breath.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Drop your shoulders. Start talking. You're 30 seconds in.
- 3:52Speaker 2: You're good.
- 3:52Speaker 3: So that life hack, we will put on our website.
- 3:55Speaker 3: And if you're a nervous type, before you start talking
- 3:57Speaker 3: in front of people, here's your little reset at johnjainrich.com.
