- 0:21Speaker 1: which originally aired on the Hallmark Channel on Saturday, July eleventh,
- 0:25Speaker 1: and it's now streaming on Hallmark Plus. You can keep
- 0:29Speaker 1: up with us over on Instagram, where we are Girls

- 0:37Speaker 1: Hallmark late breaking news, well peaks behind the Girl's Not
- 0:41Speaker 1: Hallmark curtain occasionally over there.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Occasionally we also have a Facebook page at once Again
- 0:48Speaker 2: y'all delivered over the weekend. Right, what's happening? I don't
- 0:56Speaker 2: understand all of a sudden, look, I'll take it, you know.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Maybe just there's just the population of people that have
- 1:04Speaker 2: their Facebook open while watching.
- 1:06Speaker 1: This movie and they just want.
- 1:08Speaker 2: To weigh in.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Maybe yeah, if your Facebook over Instagram, you can get
- 1:13Speaker 1: all that over on our Facebook page as well, which
- 1:15Speaker 1: is of course Girls Club homework.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Did you watch this movie?
- 1:20Speaker 1: I know what you're gonna ask me, Yes, I did.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I watched it not live but recorded from television, so
- 1:27Speaker 1: you got to see Biltmore's who Views What did you see?
- 1:33Speaker 1: I had the exact same reaction I've had right now.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I was like, first of all, it's I think it's
- 1:40Speaker 1: stunningly beautiful. Mm hmm. It made me very excited for
- 1:46Speaker 1: the movie. And I have always loved Holland Roden. I
- 1:50Speaker 1: like her a lot. I think she looks so perfectly
- 1:54Speaker 1: timeless in this movie, the customing and the hair. I'm excited,
- 2:00Speaker 1: are you thinking?
- 2:01Speaker 2: I'm very excited, But I have some reservations, only because
- 2:07Speaker 2: I love the original so so much, and I know
- 2:12Speaker 2: this isn't like a reboot or a redo or a whatever.
- 2:15Speaker 2: It's going to have its own story, so I'm looking
- 2:18Speaker 2: forward to that. But I just love the original so much, Like,
- 2:23Speaker 2: how's that going to land for me? The second thing
- 2:26Speaker 2: is in the preview that I saw, there's this Holland
- 2:30Speaker 2: Rodin kind of like dazs is off and I couldn't
- 2:34Speaker 2: help but think about her character in Holidays, which who
- 2:38Speaker 2: I did not like very much. I don't know, so
- 2:40Speaker 2: I'm but I loved her in the Bills movie last
- 2:43Speaker 2: last year, So I'm just and in.
- 2:45Speaker 1: That dial one for murder movie, Yes, you're right, So I'm.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Just carrying this like Holidays PTSD with me for I
- 2:53Speaker 2: don't know why. Yeah, why, I hear you.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I My goal is to let this movie stand alone
- 3:01Speaker 1: and not be like, but it's not Chris, but it's
- 3:04Speaker 1: not you know, there's no beth Any joy Len's moment.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and the preview was bringing it for me, So
- 3:12Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to it very much. The other thing
- 3:15Speaker 1: that I noticed I thought was really funny is that
- 3:17Speaker 1: Hallwark was promoting the hell out of next week's movie,
- 3:21Speaker 1: but not next week's movie, the preview you're gonna see
- 3:24Speaker 1: during next week's movie, which is the Tyler Heines Christmas movie.
- 3:28Speaker 1: That is funny.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Did you not notice it?
- 3:32Speaker 1: I didn't see that because mostly I fast forward it
- 3:34Speaker 1: through commercials. It was only the the Biltmore commercials that
- 3:38Speaker 1: I watched.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like at that on the bottom, you know,
- 3:41Speaker 2: what's that called cryon or whatever? Oh chyron.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Yes, I try and ignore that because it's so distracting.
- 3:48Speaker 2: But yes, no, but it was like next week dry
- 3:51Speaker 2: don't miss next week's movie will be the preview of
- 3:54Speaker 2: the Nights Before Christmas or whatever. It's something like that.
- 3:57Speaker 2: I'm like, that's the Tyler heines movie like they they
- 4:00Speaker 2: know their audience.
- 4:01Speaker 1: You know who wrote that, by the way, No, I don't,
- 4:04Speaker 1: Russell Hanlin.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Oh I'm so excited. That makes me excited. Now let's
- 4:12Speaker 2: talk a movie. I'm not so excited about.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Uh. Let's hear a synopsis of Oh Little Christmas Market.
- 4:19Speaker 2: And artist's fights to save her town's beloved Christmas market
- 4:24Speaker 2: from a developer, but a budding romance with the architect
- 4:27Speaker 2: tied to the deal may bring about a Christmas miracle.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Time for everyone's favorite segment, News and Notes, Mars.
- 4:38Speaker 2: It's getting longer.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Mars Herodsky directed Oh Little Christmas Market. She's an Emmy
- 4:45Speaker 1: nominated director for ghost Writer. Mars has also directed ten
- 4:49Speaker 1: episodes of Working Moms, along with several Hallmark style films.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Natasha Baron and Ryan Peck and Pass share writing credit.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Baron has eight previous TV movie writing credits, while Peckhampah
- 5:04Speaker 2: previously wrote Hallmark's A Nineties Christmas From twenty twenty.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Four, Catherine Burrell stars as Olivia. Hallmark fans last saw
- 5:12Speaker 1: her in Christmas Baby and two episodes of Mistletone Murders.
- 5:16Speaker 1: In twenty twenty five. She also starred in a nineties Christmas.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Stephen whoz Our plays Grayson, with four upcoming projects on deck.
- 5:24Speaker 2: We last saw Stephen earlier this year in to Philly
- 5:27Speaker 2: with Love. Paula Badreaux plays Olivia's mom Leonore, with sixty
- 5:32Speaker 2: nine acting credits. You may recognize her from Hallmark's Autumn
- 5:35Speaker 2: at Apple Hill and Take Me Back for Christmas, Can't.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Shridan plays Grayson's dad Bill. His Hallmark work includes Chesapeake
- 5:43Speaker 2: Shores and Operation Nutcracker.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Ann Pornow plays friend Zoe. This is her first Hallmark project,
- 5:50Speaker 1: but has appeared in the series Private Eye, which streams
- 5:53Speaker 1: on Hallmark Plus. Oh.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Little Christmas Market was originally titled a Miniature Christmas and
- 6:00Speaker 2: was filmed in twenty twenty four.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Interesting, twenty twenty four.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Why what are your thoughts on that?
- 6:09Speaker 1: Well? That makes me think this is an acquisition. I
- 6:13Speaker 1: believe it is, or it's been like shelved for some time?
- 6:17Speaker 1: Who know?
- 6:17Speaker 2: I don't know who knows. I tried to do some
- 6:21Speaker 2: googling but couldn't find a ton other than it was
- 6:24Speaker 2: made in twenty twenty four.
- 6:26Speaker 1: All right, Well, Wendy, what was your first impression of
- 6:28Speaker 1: A Little Christmas Market?
- 6:30Speaker 2: What in the fourth grade California emission diar ema is
- 6:33Speaker 2: going on here.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Oh no, Wendy's bringing the heat right up top. My
- 6:37Speaker 1: first impression is this week all Mark was determined to
- 6:39Speaker 1: make me shout that's not mistletoe, it's Holly repeatedly.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Oh what You're gonna have to tell me when that happened,
- 6:47Speaker 2: because I don't even remember.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I will, Okay, do you want to talk about what
- 6:52Speaker 1: we liked? I do.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I have a few right up top. I have to admit,
- 6:59Speaker 2: as someone who who loves a dollhouse and tiny furniture,
- 7:04Speaker 2: there was something oddly charming about Olivia's work. I may
- 7:11Speaker 2: have questioned whether there's a market for this art of hers,
- 7:16Speaker 2: but I was drawn to the tiny details, like when
- 7:18Speaker 2: she made that miniature version of her dad, Like that
- 7:22Speaker 2: made me, you know, made me feel something. I'm not
- 7:25Speaker 2: all terrible guys.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Well, I kind of think she like captured the essence
- 7:29Speaker 1: of all the miniature people.
- 7:32Speaker 2: It made me wonder, I said, she as if you know,
- 7:35Speaker 2: but yeah, if she did it, I was like, are
- 7:36Speaker 2: they three D printing those? What's happening? And like show
- 7:39Speaker 2: me the process behind that. I'm curious in that.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, because the miniature people were my favorite
- 7:46Speaker 1: of the miniatures. That's clearly her Dad, that's clearly Grayson,
- 7:50Speaker 1: that's Zoey. I thought I liked the people.
- 7:54Speaker 2: The Zoe replica was spot on, yes, and the Grayson too,
- 8:00Speaker 2: to be quite honest, I have some thoughts on that
- 8:01Speaker 2: in a little bit. But how's she making those?
- 8:05Speaker 1: I would like to know as well.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I was very curious also also this movie, you know,
- 8:11Speaker 2: it is the dead of summer here in southern California
- 8:16Speaker 2: and everywhere else except for Australia, hey, Shannon.
- 8:19Speaker 1: And everywhere else in the southern Hemisphere.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I'm kind of drawn to where the Christmas
- 8:25Speaker 2: market's going to be in my neck of the woods,
- 8:29Speaker 2: ah this holiday season, like I want, I told myself,
- 8:33Speaker 2: I said, I'm going to make a list of Christmas markets.
- 8:36Speaker 2: I love a Christmas market me too. I like to
- 8:39Speaker 2: walk around and look at stuff and buy stuff and
- 8:43Speaker 2: drink a hot cider or cocoa or whatever. Me too.
- 8:49Speaker 2: They're just few and far between where we're at. So
- 8:52Speaker 2: I was going to start copiling a list so I
- 8:56Speaker 2: could hit a bunch of them this holiday season before
- 8:58Speaker 2: this season gets away from me, you know what I mean? Yes,
- 9:01Speaker 2: we went to Boston several years ago and went to
- 9:05Speaker 2: the best Christmas market I've ever been. It was wonderful.
- 9:10Speaker 2: So that was so much fun. And then I told
- 9:13Speaker 2: my husband this weekend because we were at the Sawdust
- 9:16Speaker 2: Festival uh huh, which is a artist market, and then
- 9:20Speaker 2: they have a Christmas version two during the holiday season.
- 9:23Speaker 2: But I was telling him about this movie and the
- 9:25Speaker 2: Christmas Market, and he goes, Hey, why don't we just
- 9:28Speaker 2: go on one of those river cruises and go stop
- 9:30Speaker 2: at all the Christmas markets. I was like, yeah, I'm
- 9:32Speaker 2: not jealous.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Not this year, but maybe, yeah, maybe. Well you know
- 9:38Speaker 1: it's on my twenty twenty nine calendar. You've been invited
- 9:41Speaker 1: to join us on our river cruise.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Give me some of your likes.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Okay. So I think what this movie does best is
- 9:49Speaker 1: focuses on the sense of community. And I think it
- 9:53Speaker 1: happens in two different ways. One, it's kind of obvious
- 9:58Speaker 1: in like a large scale the Christmas market. They talk
- 10:02Speaker 1: about how important this market is to the community, and
- 10:04Speaker 1: then the people within the market support each other and
- 10:07Speaker 1: they support Olivia and they support the idea of the market,
- 10:11Speaker 1: and then so much support, so much support, and then
- 10:14Speaker 1: the local businesses rally around to collect money, right, So
- 10:17Speaker 1: I think I like that. On a smaller scale, I
- 10:21Speaker 1: was really drawn to the mom leonor is that her
- 10:27Speaker 1: name in this movie, uh huh, telling the story of
- 10:31Speaker 1: how when they purchased this house that's now the B
- 10:34Speaker 1: and B, it was very run down, and you know,
- 10:36Speaker 1: they pitched to the buyer like, hey, we'll restore this
- 10:39Speaker 1: place to its former glory. There's something about that story
- 10:43Speaker 1: I don't know, but it stuck with me. And then
- 10:46Speaker 1: they kind of created their own little community within, like
- 10:48Speaker 1: let's share this lovely B and B with our guests,
- 10:52Speaker 1: and they've created this warm, lovely place within it that
- 10:55Speaker 1: was working for me. Hmm. I have some thoughts on
- 10:59Speaker 1: the mom going to come up in my wad.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Okay actually liked her character, but I have a slight
- 11:06Speaker 2: beef with the character.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I can't wait to hear it get to it.
- 11:11Speaker 2: There was a running storyline in this It came from
- 11:14Speaker 2: Grayson's dad who was like, we built this on tradition, tradition, tradition, tradition,
- 11:20Speaker 2: tradition is the only acceptable answer. I hate that narrative.
- 11:24Speaker 2: If somebody comes to me and goes, this is the
- 11:26Speaker 2: way we've always done it. Yeah, I want to rip
- 11:29Speaker 2: your head off. I cannot stand that.
- 11:32Speaker 1: So I liked that we get a little bit.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Of movement away from that. Olivia is trying to embrace
- 11:46Speaker 2: like a future like she she is also tied to
- 11:51Speaker 2: the people of the market and wanting to help them,
- 11:54Speaker 2: but like also trying to pivot that both can both
- 11:59Speaker 2: can exist. Like the the new building they're going to
- 12:05Speaker 2: business building there.
- 12:06Speaker 1: It's not like just like, don't tear it down. She's
- 12:08Speaker 1: trying to compromise.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Yes, yes, so I could appreciate that it wasn't blindly
- 12:18Speaker 2: never change, you know what I mean?
- 12:21Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, Two more other small likes.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I really liked Olivia's red holiday dress. Oh she comes
- 12:29Speaker 2: to that party. I liked that it was giving Jessica
- 12:34Speaker 2: McLintock if you know, you know, I really love that
- 12:37Speaker 2: off the shoulder, Yes, loved it. I also thought that
- 12:43Speaker 2: I enjoyed Catherine Stephen together. I hated his character though.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Of Grayson, I wanted to shake him and be like,
- 12:54Speaker 2: stand up to your dad. Oh yeah, where's your moral
- 12:58Speaker 2: compass if this, if his business values don't align with yours,
- 13:02Speaker 2: you need to break free, like you need to do
- 13:04Speaker 2: your own thing. You are successful in your own right
- 13:06Speaker 2: step away.
- 13:07Speaker 1: At one point, he's like, the difference between you and
- 13:10Speaker 1: I is I'm not allowed to do my own thing.
- 13:12Speaker 1: And I was like, sir, you were a grown man.
- 13:14Speaker 1: What do you mean not allowed? You are forty? Come on,
- 13:19Speaker 1: what's happening here? I didn't like that.
- 13:22Speaker 2: If he was like twenty two and fresh out of college, Okay,
- 13:26Speaker 2: I could see how he maybe hadn't established himself in
- 13:30Speaker 2: a career yet, and so therefore he has to do
- 13:33Speaker 2: what his dad wants him to do. But yes, he's
- 13:36Speaker 2: certainly employable outside of his father's business. Exactly, exactly.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Yeah, So I want to talk about these two actors
- 13:49Speaker 1: and lovely mailman. Steve over in our Facebook group posted
- 13:53Speaker 1: huzzah for who's oar. I'm not going to read the
- 13:57Speaker 1: entire thing, but if you're in our Facebook group you can.
- 14:00Speaker 1: But he says, I think this is his best performance
- 14:03Speaker 1: in a while. Maybe it was the writing or the direction,
- 14:05Speaker 1: but his character was much more compelling than many of
- 14:08Speaker 1: his recent roles. Steve goes on to say, the true
- 14:11Speaker 1: star of this film is Catherine Barrell. Every scene she
- 14:13Speaker 1: was in with so nuanced her performance elevated her performance
- 14:17Speaker 1: elevated the story throughout the movie. Her dialogue seemed tropy, yes,
- 14:23Speaker 1: but Catherine delivered it in a way that seemed both
- 14:25Speaker 1: effortless and sincere. Now, I think sometimes what happens on
- 14:33Speaker 1: Hallmark is these movies become self fulfilling prophecies for the actors.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Like if we get Stephen and Catherine in an acquisition
- 14:46Speaker 1: which maybe isn't up to the standard of twenty twenty
- 14:51Speaker 1: six Hallmark in some ways, like isn't pushing the envelope,
- 14:57Speaker 1: then what the audience is in one Hallmark is like
- 15:01Speaker 1: these two people existing within like a perfectly fine buy
- 15:05Speaker 1: the book trophy script, and they're not given the opportunity
- 15:10Speaker 1: to be the Tyler and Lacy j Mailie and Russell
- 15:13Speaker 1: Hanlines holiday movie m So I think it's like at
- 15:19Speaker 1: some point, Catherine, I would argue, has been given that opportunity,
- 15:23Speaker 1: especially with a Christmas Baby. I thought she was great
- 15:26Speaker 1: in that. But Stephen has been so relegated to these
- 15:32Speaker 1: like you know, Jane Mysteries, which was a Hallmark Plus
- 15:36Speaker 1: exclusive for a while, right, like kind of side burner things.
- 15:40Speaker 2: And so yeah, sometimes I think it's hard for us.
- 15:43Speaker 1: To see what these actors can really do like, we
- 15:45Speaker 1: don't really let them cook, so to speak. I don't
- 15:49Speaker 1: really know if that's a micro wish. It's just something
- 15:51Speaker 1: I was thinking about. But to wrap up my likes,
- 15:55Speaker 1: I do want to call out some lines I liked.
- 15:59Speaker 1: When he says is it miss or missus train station companion? Yeah?
- 16:02Speaker 1: I love that, And then Olivia says what interior decorator
- 16:06Speaker 1: for the mouse king? And the nutcracker? These just made
- 16:09Speaker 1: me laugh. I thought there were some good lines too.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Let's take a quick break and we will come right
- 16:15Speaker 1: back to discuss our wishes. All right, Wendy, what did
- 16:27Speaker 1: you wish for in a little Christmas market? Well?
- 16:29Speaker 2: I hate to say it, but I have a ton
- 16:31Speaker 2: of wishes.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 16:33Speaker 2: My first one is justice for Archie. Let this man
- 16:37Speaker 2: retire because he wants he wants to sell the lot.
- 16:41Speaker 2: He wants to retire, he wants to hang out with
- 16:43Speaker 2: his grandchildren. It is earned. Wait, I was sympathizing with
- 16:49Speaker 2: this guy that they wanted us to root against. Maybe
- 16:55Speaker 2: it's because I had My parents are this man's age,
- 16:58Speaker 2: and my dad just sold business. Like you know, there's
- 17:01Speaker 2: a lot of responsibility when you're a business owner because
- 17:04Speaker 2: you employ all these people or whatever. But let the
- 17:10Speaker 2: manner retire.
- 17:11Speaker 1: It's Christmas Eve. Let him go home.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I hated that Olivia was so like, but my dad
- 17:19Speaker 2: created this market.
- 17:21Speaker 1: No, no, no, whatever, here's my next here's my next beef.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Why can't you find another.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Property to put this market on my We have a
- 17:35Speaker 2: we have a farmer's market situation in my neighborhood every
- 17:39Speaker 2: other week and it sets up in the school parking lot. Yes,
- 17:43Speaker 2: you can't find a lot in this neighborhood that this
- 17:46Speaker 2: Christmas market can set up. And I don't understand. The
- 17:51Speaker 2: solution is so easy.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Yes, this took me out of the movie so much
- 17:58Speaker 1: because I just kept saying, this is my makes no sense, like,
- 18:02Speaker 1: move it anywhere? And there she was like, oh yeah,
- 18:05Speaker 1: our stalls are run down. Go to Costco and buy
- 18:08Speaker 1: a folding table. Nobody cares what your stall looks like.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Put a pop up tent up and a folding table, yeah,
- 18:15Speaker 2: folding table and a.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Christmasy tablecloth over it, and set up your stuff just
- 18:20Speaker 1: like they do at every other crafty market that I
- 18:23Speaker 1: go to. You know, there's one in my neighborhood every
- 18:26Speaker 1: other weekend. Have it outside the freaking B and B.
- 18:29Speaker 1: My gosh, this is not a problem that needs solving.
- 18:33Speaker 1: You do not need to rent space.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's so interesting because they have these permanent structures
- 18:41Speaker 2: or whatever that they were selling out of, right their
- 18:44Speaker 2: little stalls. Yeah, but they're not permanent because only open
- 18:47Speaker 2: sixties out of the year, so they put them away.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I don't. Oh yeah, and can I say I did
- 18:53Speaker 1: not root for the shipping container market idea.
- 18:57Speaker 2: All I wrote down in my notes is wtf. I
- 19:02Speaker 2: don't a shipping container like.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I think there's a place for it, I understand, but
- 19:07Speaker 1: it just is not giving like the classic Christmas market
- 19:10Speaker 1: vibe to put them in these like gritty industrial containers.
- 19:16Speaker 1: I'm trying to rack my brain to figure out where
- 19:21Speaker 1: I've ever seen a shipping container converted to like a
- 19:28Speaker 1: marketplace type where you would go for a transaction, and
- 19:33Speaker 1: I cannot think of anywhere. It also doesn't really make
- 19:37Speaker 1: a whole lot of sense because like the whole purpose
- 19:40Speaker 1: of it to me is like you're out in the
- 19:41Speaker 1: open air, you're walking around. I just I thought they
- 19:46Speaker 1: were solving a problem that didn't exist by bringing in
- 19:50Speaker 1: the shipping containers and.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Other Esthetically, a shipping container.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Agree, it's not like the industrial kind of g really
- 20:00Speaker 1: look that they were going for. And the other thing
- 20:03Speaker 1: is they're building this building, like why couldn't you just
- 20:06Speaker 1: have like you don't need to spend any money, just
- 20:08Speaker 1: applaza out front where they roll out their tables every
- 20:11Speaker 1: weekend or every week or six weeks during the holidays
- 20:14Speaker 1: or whatever it is, and then they roll it back away.
- 20:18Speaker 1: It doesn't even need to be a permanent structure. This
- 20:21Speaker 1: this is a problem that doesn't exist.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Yeah, totally, that's what I was thinking too. I'm like,
- 20:26Speaker 2: they're gonna build this multi million dollar building here and
- 20:29Speaker 2: then you're gonna have these shipping containers out in this plaza.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Why wouldn't you build like a more permanent structure that
- 20:37Speaker 2: could be used at like a multifunctional space that's not
- 20:40Speaker 2: a shipping container. Yes, because I did like her idea
- 20:45Speaker 2: of like, oh we could use this, you know, for
- 20:47Speaker 2: classes or whatever. I'm not going into a shipping container
- 20:51Speaker 2: for a class.
- 20:52Speaker 1: No, just make it like a if it's this big
- 20:55Speaker 1: industrial or not like commercial building. Right, this office building,
- 20:58Speaker 1: you have this like outdoor plow. Now if it's somewhere winterry,
- 21:01Speaker 1: this is not actually the most functional thing. But we're
- 21:04Speaker 1: under the assumption that they can exist in this outdoor market,
- 21:07Speaker 1: so we'll go with it. And it can be like,
- 21:10Speaker 1: you know, the workers come down and sit by the
- 21:12Speaker 1: fountain and eat their lunch, and during the summer they
- 21:17Speaker 1: have like food carts. You know, you have like a
- 21:18Speaker 1: summer market and a Christmas market, and you maybe have
- 21:21Speaker 1: like a little covered area where you're like, oh, we.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Can do classes here.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Just so it's useful for everybody.
- 21:28Speaker 2: And fits the vibe.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Let Greyson design it.
- 21:32Speaker 2: That was my other kind of moment where I was like, oh,
- 21:36Speaker 2: this architect Grayson is signing co signing on this shipping container.
- 21:43Speaker 2: I cut you.
- 21:44Speaker 1: When they started running with the shipping containers, I was like,
- 21:47Speaker 1: what are we doing? And then they start fundraising to
- 21:50Speaker 1: get the shipping containers there. I was like, we have
- 21:53Speaker 1: gone so far off the rails here, folks. I agree,
- 21:56Speaker 1: uh agree.
- 21:59Speaker 2: My next wish is it has to do with the mom.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I liked the mom, but she was letting Olivia do
- 22:09Speaker 2: everything and telling her she's doing an amazing You're doing
- 22:13Speaker 2: the amazing, sweetie, Like Olivia is running I don't know
- 22:17Speaker 2: if she's actually running the Christmas market or she oversees
- 22:21Speaker 2: the Christmas market or whatever it is.
- 22:23Speaker 1: But she's got the binder.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Yes, she got the binder plus the bed and breakfast.
- 22:27Speaker 2: You know, she's on the phone and the fruitcake is
- 22:29Speaker 2: burning and like you can't be like, excuse me, I
- 22:31Speaker 2: have to put you on hold. We haven't an emergency
- 22:34Speaker 2: happening here.
- 22:36Speaker 1: She's decorating, she's making her little art.
- 22:39Speaker 2: I'm not trying to minimize her art, but she's making
- 22:43Speaker 2: her art, like and her mom is.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Just like, oh, you can do it all.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Like she was just giving her all these cliche sayings.
- 22:53Speaker 1: It was making me hate the mom well, and then
- 22:55Speaker 1: at the end of the movie, she's like, honey, I
- 22:57Speaker 1: can handle the B and B cany because why have
- 23:00Speaker 1: you not stepped up until now?
- 23:01Speaker 2: You forgot to turn on the timer for the pnic
- 23:04Speaker 2: you burned, You're gonna burn the banb down. Yeah, why
- 23:07Speaker 2: hasn't she stepped up at all? Look, she's at a
- 23:09Speaker 2: certain age too, like she's entitled to retire as well.
- 23:13Speaker 2: But Olivia shouldn't have to do everything.
- 23:16Speaker 1: No, this is I think that's not really When her
- 23:19Speaker 1: mom's like, no, I wanted her mom to be like,
- 23:21Speaker 1: you know, we can bring someone in part time because
- 23:24Speaker 1: the mom is kind of headed towards retirement as well.
- 23:28Speaker 2: And finally, my biggest not my biggest wish, but classic
- 23:32Speaker 2: hall Mark Olivia is mad at Grayson. It just felt
- 23:34Speaker 2: misplaced a little bit like Grayson works for the company
- 23:38Speaker 2: that's buying the property, and she's she's angry at the situation,
- 23:42Speaker 2: but she really wants to take it out on somebody.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Oh, I completely forgot to mention in my likes. I'm
- 23:50Speaker 1: so sorry. I did enjoy the scene where she forces
- 23:54Speaker 1: him to purchase from all the vendors and like all
- 23:56Speaker 1: of a sudden, he's like wearing this scarf in the hat,
- 23:58Speaker 1: like carrying all this. I thought that was cute. I
- 24:00Speaker 1: am not going to do but yes, I agree with
- 24:03Speaker 1: you her anger was misplaced. And he was like, look,
- 24:05Speaker 1: I can leave and they will just send someone else
- 24:08Speaker 1: in who won't gaf about what you got going on here,
- 24:11Speaker 1: and they'll just get the deal closed. So maybe you
- 24:14Speaker 1: should dial it down, which is not what he says,
- 24:17Speaker 1: but perhaps is what he should have said. Totally. My
- 24:20Speaker 1: only other wish is we talked about at up Top.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Greason talks about not being allowed to leave the family business,
- 24:24Speaker 1: and I was like, come on, you can leave, bro,
- 24:30Speaker 1: just because you're very like my daddy will be mad
- 24:33Speaker 1: at me. I mean, I understand not wanting to disappoint
- 24:35Speaker 1: your parents, but not allowed is not what's going on here.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Yeah, they keep framing him as trapped. Yes, at some
- 24:43Speaker 2: point you got to own your choices.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Just leave.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, like, my values don't align with yours.
- 24:51Speaker 1: This isn't the job that I want to do. I
- 24:53Speaker 1: support your business, I appreciate all the hard work you've
- 24:55Speaker 1: put into it, but this isn't the job I want.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I'm just so curious how many people end up in
- 25:01Speaker 1: their family businesses even though they don't want to be.
- 25:06Speaker 2: But is that a real thing.
- 25:08Speaker 1: I'm sure it is, Scather, let's talk.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Did to see that? Okay, this is my one and
- 25:18Speaker 2: only and it's not a true did you see that?
- 25:20Speaker 2: But after Olivia and Grace and meet at the train station,
- 25:23Speaker 2: which I really enjoyed this scene to be quite honest too,
- 25:26Speaker 2: where they decorate the tree and then they have this
- 25:29Speaker 2: thing of course, like she leaves her card and he
- 25:31Speaker 2: like grabs his briefcase and doesn't see it and satchel.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Yes.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Actually, now, talking about that scene, I was like if
- 25:39Speaker 2: you just met this dude that you like felt something with,
- 25:41Speaker 2: whuldn't you miss your train? Wouldn't it be like, I'll
- 25:44Speaker 2: take the next train. I'm gonna like lock this in.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I wouldn't go running off to catch the train
- 25:51Speaker 1: while he's on the call. I would yeah, like have
- 25:53Speaker 1: a proper goodbye. Yeah, exchange numbers. But she comes home
- 25:59Speaker 1: as she makes like the miniature version. Yes, like that
- 26:03Speaker 1: scene and like it like steps away. It just felt
- 26:07Speaker 1: very sort of like she made an altar to the scene.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Oh my, I'm just saying, like, if you're Grayson and
- 26:16Speaker 2: you're like, can you walk in? That's that's me. We
- 26:19Speaker 2: met for a whole half an hour and now you
- 26:21Speaker 2: made a little doll out of me like that.
- 26:24Speaker 1: There's the weird tree we half and half decorated. That
- 26:28Speaker 1: was a weird decor choice, I thought. But yeah, I
- 26:33Speaker 1: just laughed out loud.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I just was like, I might have some questions if
- 26:38Speaker 2: I saw somebody made a doll out of me.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Yes, agree. I'm just imagining you're the train station employee though,
- 26:44Speaker 1: and you set those ornaments out and you go to
- 26:47Speaker 1: lunch and you come back and you're like, what the
- 26:48Speaker 1: hell happened here.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Yeah. They're like, man, they're so busy here, like we
- 26:52Speaker 2: should decorate this tree. And you're like, I just took
- 26:55Speaker 2: a coffee break. I was on a smoke break in
- 26:57Speaker 2: the bag Jesus.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Okay, so I have too little, did you see? That's one. Look,
- 27:05Speaker 1: it's going to be a long Christmas season. But as
- 27:07Speaker 1: they're hanging mistletoe and a lot of it. By the way,
- 27:11Speaker 1: it's not mistletoe, it's holly. Holly has red berries, mistletoe
- 27:14Speaker 1: has white.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but I even think like the you know, fake
- 27:19Speaker 2: holly is sold as mistletoe. I mean, I think this
- 27:23Speaker 2: is a common mistake.
- 27:24Speaker 1: It is a common mistake, but it's an irritating one
- 27:27Speaker 1: for Megan, the only one. I'm not the only one,
- 27:31Speaker 1: I guarantee. F I know, I know, But once you know,
- 27:34Speaker 1: you can't unsee it. And it's actually in the next
- 27:37Speaker 1: movie that we're gonna review this week, although they address it,
- 27:40Speaker 1: but as soon as it happens, I'm like, that's holly.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 27:45Speaker 1: She wants an accurate representation of Christ.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Hard. It's not that hard.
- 27:50Speaker 1: The other thing is the end of this movie. At
- 27:56Speaker 1: the end of this movie, I'm trying to think of it.
- 27:58Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. At the end of this movie, it's
- 28:00Speaker 1: snowing without a cloud in the sky, which is my
- 28:03Speaker 1: husband's personal that's not mistletoe, it's holly like He's like, pause, rewind,
- 28:08Speaker 1: look at the blue sky. Where is the snow coming from?
- 28:12Speaker 1: Doesn't need to be snowing just because it's the winter, guys,
- 28:15Speaker 1: if you're filming in sunny, blue skies.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and this movie was supposed to take place in Philadelphia,
- 28:21Speaker 2: which I thought was very interesting considering Stephen Huzzar just
- 28:25Speaker 2: did I did do?
- 28:26Speaker 1: I did too, So.
- 28:29Speaker 2: It could just be gray and cloudy, but it could
- 28:31Speaker 2: also just be cold and sunny.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Yes, yes, what did you rate a Little Christmas Market? Well?
- 28:39Speaker 2: I thought it was only slightly better than last week.
- 28:41Speaker 2: I gave it two stars.
- 28:42Speaker 1: I gave it two and a half stars. What are
- 28:46Speaker 1: we doing here Christmas in July? Uh? Huh? Mark? What
- 28:49Speaker 1: are we doing? Yeah? Yeah?
- 28:52Speaker 2: Question of Mark?
- 28:52Speaker 1: Question mark across my forehead right now? Are you looking
- 28:55Speaker 1: forward to this weekend's movie with Marcus and Vanessa?
- 28:58Speaker 2: I kind of am.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I'm tubing. I'm really hoping it. Jude.
- 29:04Speaker 2: It could be a five star considering what we've watched
- 29:07Speaker 2: the last two weeks.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Sure, so.
- 29:11Speaker 2: I hope, so, I hope it's good.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Well, thanks for listening to this episode of Girls Gone Hallmark.
