- 1:28Speaker 1: It is happy hour. It is Friday, August 4th. We
- 1:32Speaker 1: are so excited that you're with us.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Hi, Kelly. How are you from Iowa?
- 1:36Speaker 3: Hi, Rachel. I'm great. I'm doing swell. Oh, good.
- 1:41Speaker 1: That's such an Iowa thing to reply. So we have
- 1:45Speaker 1: so much to cover today.
- 1:47Speaker 3: So much. Yeah.
- 1:49Speaker 1: So do you want to kick it off with what
- 1:51Speaker 1: you'd like to talk about?
- 1:53Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. Okay. Put me on the spot.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Geez.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Well, okay. We had some great episodes this week. Two
- 2:00Speaker 3: of my favorites actually. So we had Bo Dito on Monday,
- 2:04Speaker 3: Jay Godfrey on Wednesday. And those were like two totally
- 2:09Speaker 3: different episodes, but both done in New York while we
- 2:11Speaker 3: were there. And they were amazing. Very interesting. Bo had
- 2:16Speaker 3: some awesome crime stories to tell. And then of course,
- 2:20Speaker 3: everyone knows by now we went out to Raos afterwards
- 2:22Speaker 3: and And then J, this is a subject that is
- 2:26Speaker 3: super interesting to me. Ketamine therapy for mental health issues, depression, PTSD,
- 2:32Speaker 3: stuff like that. I'm going to a music festival this weekend.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Maybe there will be ketamine there. I don't know, but
- 2:37Speaker 3: it's not going to be doctor facilitated like it is
- 2:40Speaker 3: in New Shama. So yeah.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Well, it was so great being in New York and
- 2:44Speaker 1: meeting these guys in person and having to get the
- 2:48Speaker 1: opportunity to sit down with them and really ask them
- 2:50Speaker 1: questions one-on-one. Bo- is such an interesting character. That episode
- 2:55Speaker 1: was really good and really energized. I want to say
- 2:58Speaker 1: we covered all sorts of topics and people might know
- 3:00Speaker 1: him more for being in the headlines regarding the housewives
- 3:04Speaker 1: of New Jersey, but this guy has such a track
- 3:07Speaker 1: record and is such a huge homicide detective, private investigator.
- 3:12Speaker 1: He's solved over 1400 different crimes. And, you know, he's
- 3:17Speaker 1: just so interesting. So that was a really interesting episode.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And then we had As you said, Jay, who is
- 3:23Speaker 1: the CEO of Nushama Wellness, which you guys all have
- 3:26Speaker 1: to Google when you're done with this podcast.
- 3:28Speaker 2: So interesting.
- 3:29Speaker 1: You can get ketamine infused treatments within an hour to
- 3:32Speaker 1: 90 minutes, go in and come out feeling like a
- 3:35Speaker 1: different person.
- 3:36Speaker 2: They recommend six treatments.
- 3:38Speaker 1: It's in New York City right now, but he talked
- 3:40Speaker 1: all about why talk therapy is kind of fading out
- 3:45Speaker 1: and psychedelic therapy is becoming a thing. And he believes
- 3:49Speaker 1: that in 10 years time, that will be what is
- 3:51Speaker 1: prescribed as opposed to talk therapy or medicines, which don't
- 3:55Speaker 1: get to the root of the issue. They just, the
- 3:57Speaker 1: medicines cover up the hurt feelings and whatever physically is
- 4:01Speaker 1: going on with you, but they don't actually target it.
- 4:04Speaker 1: And that with the ketamine infused treatment, you really target
- 4:07Speaker 1: what's going on in your head and your heart and
- 4:09Speaker 1: hopefully get some relief. So it was a very interesting
- 4:13Speaker 1: episode for sure. I'm excited to hear what people think
- 4:16Speaker 1: about it through the weekend. So please take a listen
- 4:20Speaker 1: to that.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Absolutely. I am excited to have companies like this clinic
- 4:25Speaker 3: put big pharma companies that just try to put a
- 4:29Speaker 3: bandaid on it, you know, with their pills and, you know,
- 4:32Speaker 3: take this, you'll feel better. I'm really excited for the
- 4:35Speaker 3: future of PTSD and depression treatment. I think it's awesome.
- 4:39Speaker 1: So would you do the ketamine infused treatment if you
- 4:42Speaker 1: were given the opportunity?
- 4:44Speaker 3: I would. I don't feel like I have a lot
- 4:47Speaker 3: of like you know, depression or mental health stuff or
- 4:50Speaker 3: anything anymore. I feel like I've thoroughly gotten through my
- 4:53Speaker 3: baggage over the years, but.
- 4:55Speaker 2: No demons right now?
- 4:57Speaker 3: Not really. I think that was more in my younger days.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I'm much better now, but I'm very interested in it.
- 5:04Speaker 3: I think it works. I think it works for a
- 5:05Speaker 3: lot of people. I would try it just out of curiosity.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I'd be a little bit nervous because- what if you
- 5:12Speaker 3: have like a bad trip or something, which he talks
- 5:15Speaker 3: about in the episode, that's very rare, but I would
- 5:19Speaker 3: definitely try it for sure. Doctor facilitated. Yes. I would
- 5:23Speaker 3: try that. Yes.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Me too. Yeah.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I mean, I'm really scared of ayahuasca stuff like that
- 5:28Speaker 1: because you know, they say that you shit your pants
- 5:31Speaker 1: and you throw up everywhere. So I'm curious about that
- 5:34Speaker 1: whole process and that is actually what's hindering me from
- 5:37Speaker 1: doing it. I feel like I'm somebody who's been through
- 5:39Speaker 1: a lot in my life and I would benefit from ayahuasca.
- 5:43Speaker 1: And I hear you don't even need to be going
- 5:44Speaker 1: through anything to benefit from it, but I would love
- 5:47Speaker 1: to try it. I just am petrified of throwing up.
- 5:49Speaker 1: When I was four years old, I ate poison berries
- 5:53Speaker 1: and my mother gave me Ipecac on the recommendation of
- 5:55Speaker 1: the poison control center. So I violently threw up. And
- 5:59Speaker 1: to this day, I literally have a phobia of it.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Like I'd rather be on a hijacked airplane than throw up.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I mean, I'm not kidding. It scares the shit out
- 6:06Speaker 2: of me. And by the way, I have not thrown
- 6:08Speaker 2: up since I was four. Don't you think that's weird?
- 6:10Speaker 1: Anytime I get sick or like I get a stomach
- 6:14Speaker 1: ache or whatever, I calm myself down so that I
- 6:18Speaker 1: don't throw up. And then I don't go on roller coasters.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I don't eat weird food. I don't really get drunk. Um,
- 6:23Speaker 1: I'm V and if I ever hear someone say, Oh,
- 6:25Speaker 1: I don't feel well, I think I'm going to throw up.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I like panic.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I run the other way. If I hear someone dry heave,
- 6:30Speaker 1: forget about it.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I might pass out. Like it scares the shit out
- 6:33Speaker 2: of me. So Anyway.
- 6:36Speaker 3: We're lucky I didn't throw up when I came to
- 6:38Speaker 3: visit you at your house a while back because I
- 6:41Speaker 3: throw up. I'm a puker. Are you? Yeah. I'm a puker.
- 6:46Speaker 3: It doesn't take me much. Really? Oh, my God.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I don't really have any friends that are pukers.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Really?
- 6:53Speaker 4: I do. They think you're done for the day, but
- 6:57Speaker 4: they don't know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the
- 7:03Speaker 4: one square before bed. Or two, you know. Nobody's watching.
- 7:10Speaker 4: You deserve a treat. With eight flavors to choose from,
- 7:16Speaker 4: you can choose the flavor you favor with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I'm such a lightweight. I can drink maybe like two
- 7:29Speaker 3: drinks and then I'm like totally drunk. And, you know,
- 7:33Speaker 3: it's just sometimes it doesn't end well as we heard
- 7:36Speaker 3: a few weeks ago so but speaking of puking there
- 7:38Speaker 3: might be some puking this weekend I don't know I
- 7:41Speaker 3: like I said we're I'm going to a music festival
- 7:43Speaker 3: with my oldest son um things get a little crazy
- 7:47Speaker 3: you know I don't.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Know what is the music festival.
- 7:50Speaker 3: It is called Hinterland. It's an Iowa music festival. So
- 7:53Speaker 3: it's like a very small scale version, like a little
- 7:58Speaker 3: mini Coachella in the Midwest. Not quite as cool, but
- 8:01Speaker 3: it's kind of like that.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Oh, very nice.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:04Speaker 3: So that's what I'm doing. But last weekend, you had
- 8:07Speaker 3: an epic weekend.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Well, I went to Aspen and I got to go
- 8:13Speaker 1: to a fundraiser for Big Green, which is a really
- 8:16Speaker 1: interesting foundation that supports... teaching kids to grow food to
- 8:23Speaker 1: make their food. And they have it in schools. They
- 8:25Speaker 1: have it in different backyard projects, camps. And it is
- 8:29Speaker 1: supported by Kimball Musk, the brother of Elon, and his wife, Christiana.
- 8:33Speaker 1: And it was just like a very interesting group of people.
- 8:37Speaker 1: It was a very interesting fundraiser. They made a lot
- 8:40Speaker 1: of money during their auction for the cause, which was
- 8:43Speaker 1: really nice. And, you know, I was really honored to
- 8:46Speaker 1: be there and be a part of it. I got
- 8:48Speaker 1: to meet Jewel, who has performed there in the past.
- 8:51Speaker 1: We talked about both being from Anchorage, Alaska. So that
- 8:54Speaker 1: was really fun. She's very sweet and very beautiful. She
- 8:56Speaker 1: got up on stage and played one of the guitars
- 9:00Speaker 1: that was being auctioned off. And so that was nice.
- 9:05Speaker 1: And then the musical group this weekend, tell me if
- 9:08Speaker 1: you've heard of them.
- 9:08Speaker 2: They're called Daybreakers.
- 9:11Speaker 3: I haven't. No. What genre are they?
- 9:15Speaker 2: So it's very interesting.
- 9:16Speaker 1: They have this, I don't know if the word is community,
- 9:19Speaker 1: but for example, in New York, people get up really
- 9:22Speaker 1: early and go to a daybreakers event and they dance
- 9:27Speaker 1: before the day starts. And it's the way that you
- 9:29Speaker 1: break your day, kind of. You start your day and
- 9:32Speaker 1: you get a lot of energy from it. And it's
- 9:35Speaker 1: kind of like, It feels like music that you can't,
- 9:37Speaker 1: it's not music you can sing to. It feels like
- 9:39Speaker 1: a rave a little bit. But I was like, I
- 9:42Speaker 1: can't imagine getting up at like six or five in
- 9:44Speaker 1: the morning, going and dancing like this. And then, you know,
- 9:47Speaker 1: going home, showering and going to work. It feels so awkward,
- 9:51Speaker 1: but people do it.
- 9:51Speaker 2: People love it. It's like a whole thing.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Wow.
- 9:54Speaker 3: I think that sounds amazing. That sounds like right up
- 9:57Speaker 3: my alley.
- 9:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:58Speaker 2: So that was the performance.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Band.
- 10:01Speaker 2: So that, that was very cool.
- 10:02Speaker 1: But anyways, I'm happy to be home and getting ready
- 10:05Speaker 1: for school to start here in Florida, which is interesting. Wyatt,
- 10:10Speaker 1: my daughter and I have just moved here from New
- 10:13Speaker 1: York city. It's going to be a whole new school
- 10:15Speaker 1: year for her, a whole new class. And she has
- 10:18Speaker 1: been in New York City with her father and my mother,
- 10:22Speaker 1: who also lives there, for the summer. And now she
- 10:26Speaker 1: will be coming down here to me. So that's been
- 10:28Speaker 1: an interesting process of splitting up time with us in
- 10:32Speaker 1: different states because that's never happened before. And so I
- 10:35Speaker 1: think it'll be a transition for her.
- 10:37Speaker 3: How do you guys do that? That seems like a
- 10:40Speaker 3: lot of work, a lot of co-parenting stuff involved with that.
- 10:44Speaker 3: How do you make that work?
- 10:46Speaker 1: So, you know, normally this is something I would not
- 10:49Speaker 1: talk about, but I'm going to talk about it because
- 10:51Speaker 1: I think it's important. I think a lot of people
- 10:53Speaker 1: sugarcoat the co-parenting thing. And, you know, I've seen some
- 10:58Speaker 1: podcasts with people that it's all about co-parenting and it's all,
- 11:02Speaker 1: you know, how to do this, how to do that,
- 11:04Speaker 1: how to not react and how to appreciate your co-parent. Well,
- 11:08Speaker 1: you know, what about for us that have been really
- 11:10Speaker 1: suffering as co-parents because we are not getting the kind
- 11:14Speaker 1: of support that we feel we should be, or that's
- 11:17Speaker 1: even like a normal level. And I feel like I
- 11:20Speaker 1: have not said anything for a long time, if ever,
- 11:24Speaker 1: but co-parenting has been very hard in my situation.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I have been divorced. My daughter's 11.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I've been divorced almost nine of those years. You would
- 11:31Speaker 1: think that, um, we don't need to talk about anything
- 11:35Speaker 1: besides pick up, drop off details with our daughter. But my, um,
- 11:39Speaker 1: my ex has absolutely no boundaries. He's you know, he's
- 11:42Speaker 1: still borrowing my mother's car every weekend with a new
- 11:45Speaker 1: wife every year, just about with a new baby here
- 11:48Speaker 1: and there. And it's, you know, I don't speak to
- 11:52Speaker 1: his parents. When I speak to his parents, it's about
- 11:54Speaker 1: my daughter and about her visiting and, you know, making
- 11:57Speaker 1: sure that they, you know, are okay and how everything's
- 12:00Speaker 1: going when she's visiting them, you know. But besides that,
- 12:04Speaker 1: I would never think to ask to borrow anything from them,
- 12:07Speaker 1: you know, even if it was for Wyatt, I would
- 12:10Speaker 1: never think to ask them to pitch in for anything,
- 12:13Speaker 1: you know? Um, so it's just very odd to me
- 12:17Speaker 1: because my mother is pitching in for bills for my ex-husband.
- 12:21Speaker 1: She's pitching in for all sorts of things. His new
- 12:26Speaker 1: wife has no problem with that, which I also think
- 12:30Speaker 1: is weird. My ex-husband is very verbally abusive. That's hard
- 12:34Speaker 1: because you have to keep that from your kids. Sometimes
- 12:37Speaker 1: when your daughters or your kids are the age that
- 12:39Speaker 1: mine are, they see all that. That's why I got
- 12:41Speaker 1: divorced to begin with. I didn't want a personal relationship
- 12:44Speaker 1: with him. It was not working. So when you have
- 12:47Speaker 1: this narcissistic, toxic person who is just out to get
- 12:51Speaker 1: you and still nine years later doing anything they can
- 12:54Speaker 1: to just argue. It seems very sickening to me and unstable. And,
- 12:59Speaker 1: you know, and they call you all those like keywords.
- 13:02Speaker 1: They call me all the names, crazy, manic, not a
- 13:05Speaker 1: good mom. You know, all the things that they can
- 13:07Speaker 1: think of that they think are going to like disempower me.
- 13:11Speaker 1: And all it does is give me the power because
- 13:13Speaker 1: I'm like, this guy, it's so obvious. It's like a
- 13:17Speaker 1: flashing light of how miserable he is.
- 13:21Speaker 4: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 13:24Speaker 4: know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the one square
- 13:29Speaker 4: before bed. Or two, you know. Nobody's watching. You deserve
- 13:36Speaker 4: a treat. With eight flavors to choose from, you can
- 13:42Speaker 4: choose the flavor you favor with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Obsessed he still is with, like wanting to find out
- 13:54Speaker 1: what's going on in my life. And it's really awful.
- 13:57Speaker 1: So co-parenting has been very difficult. I'm so happy that
- 13:59Speaker 1: I now live in a different state. I will refuse
- 14:02Speaker 1: to talk about anything with him besides when he sees
- 14:05Speaker 1: my daughter and when he doesn't.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Because it's none of his business.
- 14:07Speaker 1: It's never been his business, but he's been able to
- 14:10Speaker 1: really affect, you know, a lot of stuff going on
- 14:14Speaker 1: when I'm right down the street.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Now it's just not.
- 14:17Speaker 1: And I think, you know, and I learned this from
- 14:19Speaker 1: being on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew because I have a,
- 14:23Speaker 1: who behaves inappropriately as well. A lot of people know
- 14:26Speaker 1: what that's like to have a narcissistic parent and how
- 14:31Speaker 1: emotionally upsetting that can be, traumatizing sometimes.
- 14:35Speaker 2: And, you know, Dr.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Drew told me a good lesson that when you are
- 14:39Speaker 1: doing well, when you are getting healthy, the people that
- 14:43Speaker 1: still are coming after you, the still people that want
- 14:45Speaker 1: to put you down are the people that are just
- 14:47Speaker 1: really getting jealous that you're getting healthy and they're not.
- 14:50Speaker 2: And they're getting nervous that you're rising above. And they're not.
- 14:54Speaker 1: And I think that was such an important lesson for
- 14:56Speaker 1: me because now I'm able to tune out all those
- 14:59Speaker 1: dumb comments because those are a reflection of them. And
- 15:02Speaker 1: it's a reflection of how they want to put me
- 15:05Speaker 1: down so that they feel better. And I've gotten healthy
- 15:08Speaker 1: enough and independent enough that I'm like, it's almost laughable.
- 15:12Speaker 1: It's like, wow, that's just how awful do they feel
- 15:15Speaker 1: that they're trying to make me feel even worse. And
- 15:16Speaker 1: the only solution for that is to cut them out.
- 15:19Speaker 1: You know, and I tried to cut my mother out, um,
- 15:21Speaker 1: many years ago and she actually had the audacity to
- 15:25Speaker 1: sue me for grandparents' rights, which is a thing in Manhattan,
- 15:28Speaker 1: if you could believe that. So, you know, there are
- 15:30Speaker 1: people that are just have a lot of ego, a
- 15:32Speaker 1: lot of narcissistic and toxic traits. And the best thing
- 15:36Speaker 1: to do is get your life to a place where
- 15:38Speaker 1: you do not need them. You do not care about
- 15:41Speaker 1: their opinion and you can literally move on. So I'm
- 15:44Speaker 1: so happy that I'm at that stage and And it's
- 15:47Speaker 1: just so gross and laughable that there are still people
- 15:49Speaker 1: that have that personality where they just want to hurt
- 15:52Speaker 1: other people.
- 15:52Speaker 2: It's just gross.
- 15:54Speaker 3: People hurt people.
- 15:55Speaker 2: That's right.
- 15:56Speaker 3: That's what they say.
- 15:56Speaker 1: What is your co-parenting like? I know you have three
- 15:59Speaker 1: kids with two different guys, right?
- 16:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Yeah. So I got married really young the first time
- 16:05Speaker 3: I was 19. We have Ian, who's 26. And then
- 16:08Speaker 3: I got married 12 years ago and we had two
- 16:12Speaker 3: boys who are nine and 11 now.
- 16:13Speaker 4: So I.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Fortunately, I get along well with both of them. Now
- 16:19Speaker 3: with the first one, we were young and feisty. We
- 16:22Speaker 3: did not always get along very well. It took several
- 16:25Speaker 3: years before we got to a place where we got
- 16:27Speaker 3: along and that our new people in our lives and stuff,
- 16:30Speaker 3: we got along with them too. But it's easy to
- 16:33Speaker 3: say like, oh, you need to co-parent positively. You need
- 16:36Speaker 3: to do this. But when you are involved with a
- 16:38Speaker 3: toxic person, all bets are off. All of that goes
- 16:42Speaker 3: out the window. So I definitely sympathize. I feel like
- 16:45Speaker 3: I've had it pretty easy with my exes for the
- 16:48Speaker 3: most part. We don't fight or anything. We get along.
- 16:52Speaker 3: We are flexible with our schedules. We don't even really
- 16:55Speaker 3: have a set schedule. I get the boys on these days.
- 16:59Speaker 3: You get them these days. If he has plans, I'll
- 17:02Speaker 3: work with him. If I have plans, we work together
- 17:04Speaker 3: on our schedules. So I've been super lucky. And oh, man,
- 17:08Speaker 3: I've seen some of the interactions with you and your
- 17:12Speaker 3: ex and stuff. And I really... Oh, wouldn't wish that
- 17:16Speaker 3: upon anyone. I, like I said, I've been lucky. So, yeah.
- 17:20Speaker 1: So anyways, moving on, let's talk about some, some of
- 17:25Speaker 1: the things that have happened this week in the news.
- 17:27Speaker 2: What have you got for me?
- 17:28Speaker 3: Oh my God. So, oh my gosh. Well, I used
- 17:32Speaker 3: to be into true crime. So I saw the story
- 17:35Speaker 3: about Taylor's show business.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Oh, what a last name.
- 17:39Speaker 3: What is that?
- 17:40Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know.
- 17:41Speaker 3: That's not, That's so weird. I mean, I've never heard
- 17:43Speaker 3: a last name like that.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Who's in Shabizness?
- 17:46Speaker 3: She needs to mind Shabizness. She did not mind Shabizness.
- 17:52Speaker 3: So in this meth-fueled sexcapade, she and her boyfriend, Shad Therion,
- 17:59Speaker 3: they're from Wisconsin. They were hopped up on meth, had
- 18:03Speaker 3: this whole sex thing going. They were into like Rough sex, choking,
- 18:08Speaker 3: things like that. And she was choking him with a
- 18:10Speaker 3: dog collar during sex. She admitted to this. She was like,
- 18:14Speaker 3: what would happen if I just didn't stop? So, you know,
- 18:17Speaker 3: obviously her thoughts weren't rational. She was on drugs at
- 18:21Speaker 3: the time. She shows no remorse. She just gave all
- 18:25Speaker 3: the details to the police. She just, she said she
- 18:28Speaker 3: enjoyed it. She kept going until she choked him to death.
- 18:32Speaker 3: And this story is so freaking sick. Like we were
- 18:36Speaker 3: talking about it last night and I was reading about
- 18:38Speaker 3: it and it gave me a stomach ache. Like I
- 18:40Speaker 3: felt literally nauseated when I read the details. She ended
- 18:45Speaker 3: up decapitating him. She played with his corpse afterwards. She
- 18:50Speaker 3: cuddled him.
- 18:51Speaker 4: She.
- 18:52Speaker 3: did more sex stuff with his body. And it ended up,
- 18:57Speaker 3: she cut off his penis and his head, threw them
- 19:00Speaker 3: in a bucket in the basement. And his poor mother
- 19:02Speaker 3: found that the jury found her guilty in like, I
- 19:05Speaker 3: don't know, something super quick, like 30 minutes.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Or something like that. Well, what's crazy about that is like,
- 19:11Speaker 2: how did she.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Even decapitate him? How did she cut him, him up
- 19:15Speaker 1: into little parts? It was with the kitchen knife, I believe.
- 19:18Speaker 1: And that takes people a lot of.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Strength, right? I mean, that seems crazy. Is she blaming
- 19:25Speaker 2: it on the drugs completely? Do you know?
- 19:27Speaker 3: I mean, I don't even think she's like blaming it
- 19:30Speaker 3: on really anything. She just seems to be like an
- 19:33Speaker 3: evil demon sent from hell. She just enjoyed it. She
- 19:37Speaker 3: isn't showing her more. She's really not making much of
- 19:39Speaker 3: an excuse. I mean, she's saying it was meth related.
- 19:43Speaker 3: She was on drugs, but she's not really doing a
- 19:45Speaker 3: whole lot.
- 19:47Speaker 4: They think you're done for the day, but they don't.
- 19:50Speaker 4: know about the drawer the drawer just the one square
- 19:55Speaker 4: before bed or two you know nobody's watching you deserve
- 20:02Speaker 4: a treat With eight flavors to choose from, you can
- 20:08Speaker 4: choose the flavor you favor with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Redeem herself. So it's just super bizarre, totally bizarre. And
- 20:22Speaker 3: if you read the articles, I don't even know if
- 20:24Speaker 3: I really want to say it on our show, but
- 20:27Speaker 3: she was cutting rice. And doing other things to his
- 20:32Speaker 3: body at the same time, just loving it. It's just
- 20:35Speaker 3: so gross. Wow.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Well, this woman obviously needs to be in prison. Thank
- 20:38Speaker 1: God she is. And the justice system worked well for her. Also,
- 20:42Speaker 1: I believe a couple days ago, they came out sentencing
- 20:44Speaker 1: Lori Vallow finally. If you guys remember, Lori Vallow was
- 20:47Speaker 1: a woman from, was.
- 20:48Speaker 2: It Idaho or Iowa?
- 20:50Speaker 3: Oh, Idaho. Idaho. Okay.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Idaho, who went on sort of a religious, what's the word, campaign.
- 20:56Speaker 1: She went on a religious journey.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Just like a breakdown. I mean, she just lost her
- 21:00Speaker 3: freaking mind.
- 21:02Speaker 4: Right.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Over Jesus. And I think it was over the world ending.
- 21:05Speaker 2: She believed the world was going to end in July.
- 21:08Speaker 1: There was a string of deaths. First, it was her
- 21:10Speaker 1: ex-husband who sort of questioned her motives. And one day
- 21:13Speaker 1: he came into the house and her brother, Alex, shot him.
- 21:18Speaker 1: People thought it was an accident. People thought it was self-defense.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Then the next person who died was, I believe, the
- 21:23Speaker 1: wife of the man who she married two weeks later.
- 21:26Speaker 1: And then after that, Alex mysteriously died.
- 21:30Speaker 2: And they all thought these were completely unrelated. I don't
- 21:32Speaker 2: know why. Meanwhile, her children were missing. It was Kylie
- 21:37Speaker 2: and JJ.
- 21:38Speaker 1: And one of them was maybe autistic. I remember that
- 21:42Speaker 1: one of them had a little bit of a disability
- 21:44Speaker 1: of some sort. And they were missing for something like
- 21:47Speaker 1: six months. No one could find them. She kept alluding
- 21:50Speaker 1: to the fact that they were visiting someone and the
- 21:52Speaker 1: police would come and look for the kids and she
- 21:55Speaker 1: would just give all sorts of answers. She ended up
- 21:57Speaker 1: going away to Hawaii with her new husband and eventually
- 22:02Speaker 1: somebody arrested them because they kept lying about where these
- 22:05Speaker 1: kids were. And I think at some point it was
- 22:07Speaker 1: common sense that the kids were no longer with us.
- 22:09Speaker 1: They ended up finding the bodies in Chad Daybell's backyard.
- 22:13Speaker 1: That is the person she married. And, you know, I
- 22:16Speaker 1: think she was alluding to the fact that Alex may
- 22:18Speaker 1: have helped kill them. He's the brother that died, so
- 22:21Speaker 1: we can't hear from him. But she was sentenced to what?
- 22:24Speaker 2: Life in prison? Is that where we're at with that?
- 22:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:26Speaker 3: As far as I know, I saw life in prison. So, yes.
- 22:30Speaker 3: So bizarre because, like you said, religious undertones, obviously, to this.
- 22:34Speaker 3: She thought her kids were actually demons. They had a
- 22:37Speaker 3: scale of like how demonically possessed people were, and they
- 22:43Speaker 3: needed to kill them based on the certain scale. It
- 22:46Speaker 3: was so crazy. And they both, it seems like they
- 22:52Speaker 3: both believed that this was reality. And they had some
- 22:55Speaker 3: friends who were very concerned with them in the time
- 22:57Speaker 3: leading up to this. It was just another super bizarre
- 23:00Speaker 3: crime case. There've been lots of documentaries already made about it,
- 23:04Speaker 3: lots of podcasts and stuff. So it's one we've been following.
- 23:07Speaker 2: So- Well, all right. So good. She got what she
- 23:11Speaker 2: had coming.
- 23:12Speaker 1: And I don't think anyone thought she was going to
- 23:14Speaker 1: get out, but I wanted to sort of hear her
- 23:16Speaker 1: go to trial. I wanted to hear what she had
- 23:18Speaker 1: to say. This episode is brought to you by BetterHelp.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Sometimes in life, we're faced with tough choices and the
- 23:26Speaker 1: path forward isn't always clear. I personally have been through
- 23:29Speaker 1: a lot of trying times in my life, trauma, grief,
- 23:32Speaker 1: for example. I think those are universal themes that people
- 23:35Speaker 1: can really understand. I lost my fiance, Andy, in 9-11
- 23:39Speaker 1: and the pain was unbearable. Since then, I've gone through
- 23:42Speaker 1: other traumas that didn't feel as big, but I still
- 23:45Speaker 1: needed to talk to somebody. And having somebody I didn't
- 23:48Speaker 1: know that well, but was really good at listening, felt
- 23:51Speaker 1: like the right thing to do. And it was so
- 23:53Speaker 1: helpful to me. I love that I can have someone
- 23:56Speaker 1: to talk to that isn't one of my close friends
- 23:58Speaker 1: that I can just confide in and feel like it's
- 24:00Speaker 1: between us. If you're thinking of starting therapy, give BetterHelp

- 26:12Speaker 4: They think you're done for the day, but they don't

- 27:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:23Speaker 3: And then something else crazy. You got me hooked on
- 27:26Speaker 3: this show, this Netflix show called Deep Fake Love. And
- 27:30Speaker 3: I got really into that.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 27:33Speaker 1: So you guys, if you need some suggestions of what
- 27:36Speaker 1: to be watching this week, I stumbled upon this weekend
- 27:40Speaker 1: something on Netflix. It was one of the top rated shows.
- 27:43Speaker 1: So I clicked on it. It's called Deep Fake Love.
- 27:45Speaker 1: It's Spanish, but it's in subtitles. I was hooked and
- 27:49Speaker 1: I watched every episode till the very end. And then
- 27:53Speaker 1: I got Kelly hooked on it. Um, this was so
- 27:56Speaker 1: upsetting and you guys should totally check it out because
- 27:59Speaker 1: it's so bizarre, but they set up a one, two, three,
- 28:02Speaker 1: four or five couples. I think it was four or
- 28:05Speaker 1: five couples that are in deep relationships, loving relationships, One
- 28:10Speaker 1: was a gay couple. The rest were couples that had
- 28:12Speaker 1: been together. I mean, they had been together for six years,
- 28:15Speaker 1: I want to say. And the rest of the couples
- 28:16Speaker 1: had been together for something like nine years to eight months.
- 28:19Speaker 1: They were separating them into different houses. They just, you know,
- 28:23Speaker 1: separated them down the middle. It didn't matter who was
- 28:25Speaker 1: with who. And then they paired those houses with maybe what,
- 28:30Speaker 1: seven or eight very good looking, savvy, interesting couples. people
- 28:34Speaker 1: to see if they would cheat. And that was the
- 28:37Speaker 1: premise of the show, to see if their love was
- 28:40Speaker 1: real or fake.
- 28:41Speaker 2: And then you can tell them about the twist.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Okay. Well, yes. So beautiful people, super in love, it seemed.
- 28:48Speaker 3: So they put them in these scenarios and then they
- 28:51Speaker 3: would bring the one side of the couple into the
- 28:54Speaker 3: hot seat basically and say, we've got a video of
- 28:56Speaker 3: what your significant other has been doing while you're away.
- 29:00Speaker 3: And they would proceed to show these videos of their
- 29:04Speaker 3: loved ones cheating on them, basically kissing people, dancing with people,
- 29:09Speaker 3: in bed with people. But the twist is, they didn't
- 29:13Speaker 3: know if these were real videos or AI generated. So
- 29:17Speaker 3: you've got these people just absolutely crushed by what they're seeing.
- 29:22Speaker 3: They don't know if it's real or if it's fake,
- 29:24Speaker 3: sure looked real. And then they show that kind of
- 29:26Speaker 3: the process of how they make these AI videos too,
- 29:29Speaker 3: like what the real person looked like and then what
- 29:31Speaker 3: the AI looked like. It was just crazy that they
- 29:35Speaker 3: could do that.
- 29:35Speaker 1: What's fascinating about this is that AI obviously is such
- 29:40Speaker 1: a big topic right now, but I have never seen
- 29:42Speaker 1: it used in a reality show. This was so incredible because,
- 29:46Speaker 1: so what would happen is everyone, if we were in the,
- 29:49Speaker 1: if we were in a group together, the five couple,
- 29:51Speaker 1: the five people in that one couple would come in
- 29:53Speaker 1: and they would play a video for them and it
- 29:56Speaker 1: would show, you know, let's say it was me and
- 29:58Speaker 1: they're playing the video. They would show my boyfriend and um,
- 30:01Speaker 1: talking dirty to a girl, all of a sudden making
- 30:04Speaker 1: out with her, kissing her, sometimes even having sex with her.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Now the catch was, did they believe that it was
- 30:09Speaker 1: real or fake? And it was like, do you believe
- 30:11Speaker 1: in your love that he would never do that? Or
- 30:13Speaker 1: do you believe that this could be a fake video?
- 30:15Speaker 1: And the way they did these AI things were so
- 30:17Speaker 1: incredible because they would show the ones where they faked
- 30:20Speaker 1: it and it looked exactly like them. I mean, it
- 30:22Speaker 1: was absurd, but to sit there and watch the pain
- 30:25Speaker 1: on their faces of watching this person They had come
- 30:28Speaker 1: to show that their love was so strong. And within
- 30:30Speaker 1: two days, they're having sex with someone else was, you know,
- 30:34Speaker 1: awful to watch. And then they would go back to
- 30:37Speaker 1: the house. And based on that information, they would decide
- 30:39Speaker 1: if they were going to cheat. So this is what
- 30:41Speaker 1: was so upsetting about the premise of the show was
- 30:43Speaker 1: because every time you got that information, it made you
- 30:46Speaker 1: more apt to cheat or to. break your bonds with
- 30:50Speaker 1: that person because you didn't know if they were breaking
- 30:52Speaker 1: them with you and your mind and eyes had just
- 30:55Speaker 1: seen that they were having sex with someone else. So
- 30:57Speaker 1: those people that were like, I would never cheat. I
- 30:59Speaker 1: would never do anything to betray them. All of a
- 31:01Speaker 1: sudden we're like, well, if they're doing it to me,
- 31:03Speaker 1: I'm going to do it to them. And the worst part,
- 31:05Speaker 1: I won't do any spoilers because I don't think you've
- 31:07Speaker 1: seen the end yet or people listening may have not,
- 31:09Speaker 1: but then they're played the tapes that are real and
- 31:11Speaker 1: they're played the tapes that are fake. And some of
- 31:13Speaker 1: these people have already like broken up by the end.
- 31:16Speaker 1: And you know, so then it's like, do you choose
- 31:19Speaker 1: to break up now? We're going to yes or no.
- 31:20Speaker 1: And then now we're going to show you if it
- 31:22Speaker 1: was real or fake. And it's so, it's so, I mean, this,
- 31:27Speaker 1: you guys, this Netflix show was awful. It was so awful,
- 31:30Speaker 1: but it was like a train wreck. You could not
- 31:32Speaker 1: stop watching it. And also it's a lesson on how
- 31:36Speaker 1: good AI is and how.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Advanced it is.
- 31:38Speaker 1: And you cannot believe things you see. I mean, whether
- 31:40Speaker 1: or not they're using that for commercials or movies or whatever,
- 31:44Speaker 1: It just shows you that so many things are smoke
- 31:46Speaker 1: and mirrors and you just do not have any idea anymore.
- 31:50Speaker 3: That's what interested me almost the most. What are they
- 31:54Speaker 3: going to use it for in the future? It gets
- 31:56Speaker 3: in the hands of the wrong people and you've got
- 31:58Speaker 3: blackmail happening. You've got people putting your face on the
- 32:02Speaker 3: porn video or something. Or like saying, hey, to your spouse,
- 32:07Speaker 3: they're in a relationship with me. Here's the video to
- 32:10Speaker 3: prove it or something like that. There's so many evil uses.
- 32:13Speaker 3: it could go so far the wrong direction.
- 32:17Speaker 2: It's very scary, very scary.
- 32:19Speaker 1: But AI, as I think I said on another show before,
- 32:21Speaker 1: because I went to a conference on AI a couple
- 32:23Speaker 1: of weeks ago and it showed how dangerous it could be,
- 32:25Speaker 1: but it showed how great it could be. I mean,
- 32:27Speaker 1: they are trying to break the code of language in
- 32:31Speaker 1: animals and they think that within the next 12 months,
- 32:33Speaker 1: they'll be able to have a conversation with humpback whales,
- 32:36Speaker 1: which is incredible. And in the next 10 years, they're
- 32:38Speaker 1: going to be able to speak to animals like dogs.
- 32:41Speaker 1: I mean, imagine having a conversation with your dog and
- 32:44Speaker 1: being able to plug in what you want to say.
- 32:46Speaker 1: And then the AI, the computer can spout out in
- 32:49Speaker 1: their language, me saying, hey, do you want steak in
- 32:52Speaker 1: your meal tonight for dinner? Or don't run through the
- 32:57Speaker 1: gate when I leave to go to the gym today, whatever.
- 33:00Speaker 3: No, with Nala, don't run away out of the yard.
- 33:03Speaker 3: It really makes me worry about you, Nala.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Right, exactly. It would be so great to be able
- 33:08Speaker 1: to say that. Or to say, listen, I'm coming back.
- 33:10Speaker 1: I'm not leaving forever because the dogs get so upset
- 33:13Speaker 1: when you walk out of the house.
- 33:14Speaker 4: I know.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Oh, I know. I know. Yeah. So that was a
- 33:16Speaker 3: crazy show. It was really kind of sad watching the
- 33:19Speaker 3: emotions on their faces, you know, made me question what
- 33:23Speaker 3: I would do in that situation. So yeah, I don't know.
- 33:27Speaker 3: I don't want to be in that situation though. It
- 33:29Speaker 3: kind of like made me like, well, cause they make
- 33:31Speaker 3: out all the time and they're so good looking. I
- 33:33Speaker 3: was like, damn, I need a boyfriend. But then the cheating,
- 33:36Speaker 3: the cheating part, I was like, No, thanks.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Well, it just reminds you how heartbreaking it is when
- 33:42Speaker 1: you go through a breakup. It's worse than a broken leg.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I mean, a broken heart is just the worst.
- 33:49Speaker 3: The worst. It's the worst pain. Definitely the worst pain.
- 33:52Speaker 3: All right.
- 33:52Speaker 1: So who do we have coming up next week? We
- 33:54Speaker 1: have a couple of amazing interviews. I think totally different interviews.
- 33:59Speaker 3: We have Tim's story on Monday, which was a fabulous interview.
- 34:04Speaker 3: Very inspirational. If you're looking for finding some meaning in
- 34:08Speaker 3: your life or a new direction, that's one to listen to.
- 34:11Speaker 1: So you guys, Tim's story is a life coach for
- 34:14Speaker 1: celebrities such as Robert Downey Jr., Oprah Winfrey, Charlie Sheen,
- 34:19Speaker 1: and has been known as the number one comeback coach
- 34:23Speaker 1: in the world. And so we sit down with him
- 34:25Speaker 1: for an hour and I talked to him all about
- 34:27Speaker 1: his tips, tricks, any special things that he wants to
- 34:30Speaker 1: give as a message about how to find this miracle
- 34:34Speaker 1: mentality to change a setback into a comeback. So we
- 34:37Speaker 1: had a really great conversation. I think it's very helpful
- 34:40Speaker 1: for anyone who feels stuck in their first act and
- 34:43Speaker 1: wants to move to their second act.
- 34:44Speaker 2: So it's great.
- 34:45Speaker 1: And even if you, you know, by the way, it's
- 34:47Speaker 1: a universal theme to feel like you're stuck a little bit.
- 34:50Speaker 2: And we talked about that, like.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Everyone in one way or another, whether it's at their job,
- 34:54Speaker 1: in their families, with their relationship, whatever it is, people
- 34:57Speaker 1: feel stuck.
- 34:58Speaker 2: And this was just a great episode for that. And
- 35:00Speaker 2: then on Wednesday, Melissa Rivers.
- 35:03Speaker 3: What an icon.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Yes, that was a great guest. And you guys, I'll
- 35:07Speaker 1: give you a little spoiler alert. My computer died at
- 35:11Speaker 1: the end of the interview. It was so horrifying. And
- 35:15Speaker 1: I did that episode from my studio in my home.
- 35:18Speaker 1: And I had the entire crew out in the living
- 35:20Speaker 1: room playing with my dogs who were going nuts. And
- 35:23Speaker 1: they were just trying to feed them snacks and no
- 35:25Speaker 1: one was paying attention to the computer. And I noticed
- 35:28Speaker 1: about a second before it died. And it was almost
- 35:31Speaker 1: like an explosion happening when you see someone go, oh,
- 35:34Speaker 1: what's that?
- 35:35Speaker 2: And then it's like, boom, you know? So I was like, oh,
- 35:38Speaker 2: I think my computer's about to die.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Let me plug it in. And I get up and
- 35:42Speaker 1: then the whole thing dies. And it was just a
- 35:45Speaker 1: complete nightmare because, of course, you're talking to somebody like
- 35:47Speaker 1: Melissa Rivers, who I've been trying to get on the
- 35:49Speaker 1: show for four months. And then it kind of ends
- 35:52Speaker 1: that way. So I didn't get a chance to say
- 35:53Speaker 1: goodbye to her or give her a good send out.
- 35:55Speaker 1: But anyways, it was a great episode. I did have
- 35:58Speaker 1: a full hour with her anyway.
- 35:59Speaker 3: So yeah, it was a great one. So and then
- 36:01Speaker 3: we will, of course, be back with happy hour on
- 36:05Speaker 3: Friday as usual. Maybe we should drink that day.
- 36:08Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Yes.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Oh, speaking of drinking, guys, make sure that if you
- 36:12Speaker 1: have an upcoming event, That you order Le Cool Champagne.
- 36:16Speaker 3: It's lecoolchampagne.com.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Oh, okay. And then you can look it up on Instagram.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Le Cool Grand Cru.
- 36:22Speaker 1: And they are having a special fun competition where if
- 36:26Speaker 1: you come up with a drink, you can DM them
- 36:29Speaker 1: the recipe and the best one.
- 36:31Speaker 2: They will put on their website. They will talk about
- 36:34Speaker 2: in their nightclub that they are performing in Vegas. The
- 36:37Speaker 2: catch is the drink has to be named after one
- 36:39Speaker 2: of their songs. So, like, get down on it. And
- 36:45Speaker 2: then you talk about what would be mixed with their
- 36:47Speaker 2: champagne to be, um, that drink. So super fun.
- 36:50Speaker 3: I have been listening to cool in the gang nonstop
- 36:54Speaker 3: since I was in Florida. So yeah, me too.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Just a little thing coming up in the next couple
- 36:59Speaker 1: of weeks. We have such great guests. We have Jeremy
- 37:02Speaker 1: Jackson from Baywatch, Courtney, Talia, the school teacher who, uh,
- 37:07Speaker 1: was struggling financially, decided to start an only fans account
- 37:11Speaker 1: and now makes millions of dollars coaching people and, has
- 37:14Speaker 1: a really special thing where she teaches anyone in the
- 37:18Speaker 1: education industry for free. So I'm going to ask her
- 37:21Speaker 1: a ton of questions about what it's like to start
- 37:23Speaker 1: an OnlyFans account and a bunch of other people coming up.
- 37:27Speaker 2: So just super exciting.
- 37:29Speaker 3: But other than that, that's pretty much all we have
- 37:31Speaker 3: for today. So have a great weekend.
- 37:33Speaker 1: If you guys have any ideas for future guests or
- 37:37Speaker 1: recommendations or anything you want to say, definitely DM us
