A 58-year-old woman, Annie Bradford, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of her 51-year-old partner, Rufus Singletary, who died from a gunshot wound to the back. The incident occurred on April 30th last year, after Bradford called 911 herself, admitting to firing the shot. The nine-millimeter revolver was found at the scene, leading to her arrest. Judge R. Kent Harrell sentenced her to 12 to 15.5 years in state prison — a grim end to a relationship that spiraled into tragedy.
