Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: It's that time.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Lock and load.
- 0:08Speaker 3: The Michael Berry Show is on the air.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Brilliant. Listen close. What would Jesus do if he visited
- 0:18Speaker 2: the U.S.
- 0:18Speaker 4: Senate?
- 0:19Speaker 5: I think he would tell the senators on the floor,
- 0:22Speaker 5: depart from me. for I was hungry and you cut
- 0:27Speaker 5: my food assistance. I was sick and you kicked me
- 0:31Speaker 5: off Medicaid. I was a stranger and you deported me
- 0:36Speaker 5: and my family. And then I think he would flip
- 0:39Speaker 5: over those fancy desks on the floor of the U.S.
- 0:42Speaker 5: Senate and demand that we take care of all of
- 0:44Speaker 5: our neighbors, especially the least of these.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Thunderous applause.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Dude, this is masterful.
- 0:50Speaker 4: When the Bible is used to advance a quote-unquote conservative cause,
- 0:55Speaker 4: It's evil Christian nationalism. But as you just saw, when
- 1:00Speaker 4: the Bible is used to advance a quote-unquote progressive cause,
- 1:04Speaker 4: thunderous applause.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Aw, shucks.
- 1:07Speaker 2: This is Talarique.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Aw, shucks.
- 1:08Speaker 4: It's just me being Christ-like. I'm just speaking truth to power.
- 1:12Speaker 4: I'm flipping tables like Jesus. Why do y'all got to
- 1:14Speaker 4: be so mean?
- 1:15Speaker 1: He can out-Bible the Republicans. That the Christians now, from
- 1:20Speaker 1: sea to shining sea, are the mean people.
- 1:25Speaker 6: I don't believe it's dead, although your assessment is spot on.
- 1:28Speaker 7: All of.
- 1:31Speaker 6: These ideologies stem from this Christofascism movement.
- 1:36Speaker 2: In a Bible that is plagued by human inconsistencies.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Every accusation is a confession, okay? Jesus Christ is the
- 1:44Speaker 4: Lord of the universe.
- 1:46Speaker 1: He is not a mascot for your cause.
- 1:54Speaker 2: We're not a belief-based church. We're a values-based church. I'm
- 1:59Speaker 2: a Zen Buddhist priest, and I'll just say briefly that
- 2:03Speaker 2: I'm very honored to be here.
- 2:05Speaker 7: Does resurrection prove what Jesus taught me? Let me put
- 2:09Speaker 7: it this way. If Hitler rose from the dead, would
- 2:11Speaker 7: that prove what he taught? Of course not. The cadavers
- 2:15Speaker 7: have to get up. And that proves that your cadavers
- 2:19Speaker 7: can get up.
- 2:20Speaker 4: What you're going to see is you're going to end
- 2:22Speaker 4: up with a biblically defined heretic and demonic false teacher
- 2:25Speaker 4: leading your state.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Jim Mudd on our team puts together our opening montages.
- 2:33Speaker 1: That clip involves... the James Tallarico network, his pastor, a
- 2:41Speaker 1: woman in his church, his mother, him. The choice of
- 2:47Speaker 1: Jesus Christ Superstar by Timothy Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber,
- 2:51Speaker 1: if you've not seen the musical, it's the idea that
- 2:57Speaker 1: Tallarico has been using the Christian church in the image
- 3:02Speaker 1: of Jesus to say that whatever I believe, that's what
- 3:05Speaker 1: Jesus believes. Jesus wants more welfare, more abortions. It's this
- 3:12Speaker 1: idea of a manipulatable Christ, a manipulatable Bible. You know,
- 3:23Speaker 1: we've seen that in the Muslim world. We've seen the
- 3:27Speaker 1: fall of Iran in 79 where the radicals who took
- 3:32Speaker 1: over a previously beautiful country in the name of Islam
- 3:39Speaker 1: destroyed that country. Do you know anybody that wants to
- 3:42Speaker 1: vacation in Iran? Do you know anybody that wants to
- 3:45Speaker 1: vacation in Pakistan? You know, Pakistan was just West India.
- 3:50Speaker 1: It is the Muslim portion, Muslim-only portion of India. Yes,
- 3:58Speaker 1: there are some Christians there, and yes, there are actually
- 4:00Speaker 1: some Hindus there. And India still has 100 million Muslims.
- 4:05Speaker 1: But Pakistan was the Muslim homeland. Islamabad was at one
- 4:12Speaker 1: point the capital. Now it's Rawalpindi. But the city of Islam.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Tell me a Muslim country where the radical Muslims have
- 4:23Speaker 1: taken over and in the name of their religion you
- 4:27Speaker 1: would want to visit. It's meant the destruction of much
- 4:32Speaker 1: of the world. It is Muslim terrorists in France who
- 4:38Speaker 1: are burning the country to the ground. We use this
- 4:42Speaker 1: term protest so loosely. These are not protests. How are
- 4:47Speaker 1: we calling this a protest? These are riots. These are
- 4:53Speaker 1: acts of terrorism. It is effectively war. If your shop
- 4:59Speaker 1: is burned to the ground, Do you say, well, I
- 5:04Speaker 1: think I get the point of your protest. If your
- 5:07Speaker 1: home is burned to the ground, would you possibly ever say,
- 5:12Speaker 1: I think you're making a statement here. I understand that
- 5:19Speaker 1: you are not agreeing with something and instead have chosen
- 5:24Speaker 1: to protest something. The mindset of protest, whether it be
- 5:30Speaker 1: in France or London or Germany, or we've seen it
- 5:35Speaker 1: now in Sweden and Norway, these are not protests. The
- 5:40Speaker 1: Black Lives Matter terror takeover that Kamala Harris helped raise
- 5:43Speaker 1: money for, the police officers that were shot and killed,
- 5:48Speaker 1: hunted and killed, the businesses that were burned, Do you
- 5:53Speaker 1: remember the takeover in Portland of the downtown district? How
- 5:57Speaker 1: about in downtown Seattle? Minnesota, which is Mogadishu, who do
- 6:01Speaker 1: you think was doing that? There come our Somalis again. Boy,
- 6:05Speaker 1: the Somalis have been a real positive contribution to the
- 6:08Speaker 1: country now, haven't they? How about in New York? You're
- 6:13Speaker 1: seeing again and again very well orchestrated, very well organized
- 6:20Speaker 1: protests roving bands that grow like snowballs because you get
- 6:25Speaker 1: people who are disaffected who, oh, hey, there's a protest
- 6:28Speaker 1: going on. Everybody, there's a protest. And they join in.
- 6:32Speaker 1: That's what's on our ballot right now.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 6:37Speaker 1: You probably know that early voting started today in Texas.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Do you know if early voting has started in your state?
- 6:43Speaker 1: You'd be surprised. I'll go over the early voting dates.
- 6:46Speaker 1: It's so random across the country. You're going to get
- 6:49Speaker 1: a kick out of this.
- 6:49Speaker 8: I'm just young and ambitious and I love women.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Hey, you can't knock no man for loving women.
- 6:54Speaker 1: James Calafrico pleasured himself last night with the answers to
- 6:58Speaker 1: questions that were clearly already given to him. We know
- 7:02Speaker 1: that they've done that with Joe Biden in the past.
- 7:05Speaker 1: But in case you watched and wondered, let's go through it.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Shall we? We'll start with clip number 410. We know
- 7:12Speaker 1: that they started with, we're going to ask the tough question. Hey,
- 7:17Speaker 1: you went missing for a while. Well, with Joe Biden,
- 7:22Speaker 1: he ate ice cream. With Kamala Harris, she cackled. With
- 7:27Speaker 1: James Tallarico, he smiles. So he smiles as he tells
- 7:31Speaker 1: you he's going to cut off your son's penis and balls.
- 7:35Speaker 1: And leave your son a gaping hole and a confused
- 7:38Speaker 1: identity long after James Tallarico is dead. But if he
- 7:42Speaker 1: smiles while he does it, go ahead. It's not working. Okay.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Speculation.
- 7:55Speaker 8: Anybody on social media has seen it, right, about the flu.
- 8:00Speaker 1: So can you just clear it up for people?
- 8:02Speaker 2: Was the flu the only reason you were out?
- 8:10Speaker 1: I mean, I went missing. It's hilarious. We don't know
- 8:18Speaker 1: where I was.
- 8:20Speaker 3: And I would be part of the government of the
- 8:22Speaker 3: most powerful country in the world. And it's about 50-50
- 8:26Speaker 3: split right now. And so I would be the deciding vote.
- 8:29Speaker 3: And I just go up and just come up missing.
- 8:33Speaker 3: It's hilarious. Isn't that just hilarious?
- 8:37Speaker 1: Wait, what? You just.
- 8:40Speaker 1: We laugh it off? The Houston Chronicle, boy, they're doing
- 8:44Speaker 1: some heavy lifting. Tallarico debunks false rumors. Really? How are
- 8:49Speaker 1: they false? There are people telling me they're false. You
- 8:53Speaker 1: know why? Turns out those weren't true.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:58Speaker 1: It's amazing when you just ask people who make statements
- 9:02Speaker 1: in a polite way.
- 9:06Speaker 6: Oh, really?
- 9:06Speaker 1: How come? Oh, is that right? Tell me more. Yeah,
- 9:11Speaker 1: they debunked it. He wasn't in that house. It turns
- 9:16Speaker 1: out that none of that was true.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 9:19Speaker 1: How do you know? It's all over the Internet. Oh,
- 9:25Speaker 1: that's good. I'll tell you how you know. Because the
- 9:31Speaker 1: Wall Street Journal claims they reviewed time-stamped video at his home.
- 9:39Speaker 1: but that they can't reveal any of that because that
- 9:43Speaker 1: would be a security concern. Really? Where you live is
- 9:50Speaker 1: not very easy to hide. What if he wasn't at
- 9:54Speaker 1: his home? What if it was timestamp video, but it wasn't?
- 10:01Speaker 1: his home? Would that matter? What if there's no video
- 10:06Speaker 1: at all? What if the Wall Street Journal is doing
- 10:09Speaker 1: what they've done many times before, performing a favor for
- 10:14Speaker 1: the candidate they clearly want to win? You think that
- 10:16Speaker 1: Wall Street, you think the New York Times wants Talarico
- 10:19Speaker 1: to win? You bet they do. So our people go, oh, okay. Okay, well,
- 10:26Speaker 1: so New York Times say he, oh, okay. All right, well,
- 10:30Speaker 1: then that's good. Yes. How about when he called God non-binary?
- 10:36Speaker 1: Let's give him a list of things we'll ask Talarico. Hey,
- 10:41Speaker 1: you said boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. And each one
- 10:43Speaker 1: he'll go, didn't say that. Not true. I don't agree
- 10:47Speaker 1: with that. Or I was just being provocative. What are you, four?
- 10:54Speaker 1: Who's 37 years old that said, I know I said
- 10:58Speaker 1: God was non-binary. I was just, you know, sometimes I
- 11:03Speaker 1: just do things for attention.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 11:06Speaker 6: You know, the first comment, uh, about God not being
- 11:11Speaker 6: defined by gender. When I said that I was being
- 11:15Speaker 6: provocative and I want to admit that and come clean
- 11:17Speaker 6: about that.
- 11:20Speaker 1: See, we got that Kamala thing. I mean, I was
- 11:23Speaker 1: being provocative. And come clean. Okay. Okay, you got me.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I was just being provocative, you know.
- 11:31Speaker 3: When I was talking about, you know, God and sex
- 11:34Speaker 3: and him being a kinkmeister and weird and not sure
- 11:37Speaker 3: who he was.
- 11:39Speaker 1: You know, it wasn't sure what he, she was, you know.
- 11:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:44Speaker 1: I was just, you know, okay, I'd be crazy. I'd
- 11:47Speaker 1: be crazy. It was a mood. I was in a mood.
- 11:49Speaker 1: I was in a mood. Sometimes I do that. I
- 11:51Speaker 1: was in a mood. Listen to this again. But notice
- 11:53Speaker 1: the laugh. This is a coached and practiced laugh. This
- 11:59Speaker 1: is intending to send you cues. This is the laugh
- 12:03Speaker 1: track from the 70s. You're not sure where to laugh,
- 12:08Speaker 1: so they laugh for you. Your brain has been trained
- 12:13Speaker 1: that when someone cues you to laugh, you too laugh.
- 12:18Speaker 1: At a minimum, it tells you this isn't serious. You
- 12:22Speaker 1: don't need to worry about this. This isn't something that
- 12:25Speaker 1: should concern you. This is a minor thing. This is
- 12:29Speaker 1: a distraction from what really matters. This is a distraction
- 12:33Speaker 1: from dismantling capitalism and ending oil and gas and agriculture
- 12:38Speaker 1: in America and a meatless campaign. And most importantly, absolutely
- 12:44Speaker 1: mutilating your child. Everything below the waist just being ripped
- 12:48Speaker 1: off their body for the rest of their lives and
- 12:50Speaker 1: told you're not that anymore. You're this over here. All
- 12:54Speaker 1: of these things are distractions from what really matters to
- 12:57Speaker 1: you at home that Tallarico has made clear he cares about.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Just a good chuckle and a smile, a forced smile.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Kamala cackled. That's a learned behavior. It is coached. It
- 13:14Speaker 1: is designed to convey to you, to trigger in your brain, involuntarily,
- 13:22Speaker 1: a change in opinion for this man as it relates
- 13:28Speaker 1: to this position. That's a powerful, powerful thing. It's a
- 13:33Speaker 1: dangerous thing. Okay, listen to it again.
- 13:39Speaker 6: You know, the first comment about God not being defined
- 13:45Speaker 6: by gender, when I said that I was being provocative,
- 13:48Speaker 6: and I want to admit that and come clean about that.
- 13:54Speaker 1: If you see the video, you really see the forced smile.
- 14:02Speaker 1: That smile is important for you to see. He's not nervous.
- 14:09Speaker 1: If you are studying the witness to see, if you're
- 14:13Speaker 1: doing your own investigation, you're still trying to figure him out.
- 14:18Speaker 1: They have coached him. It's important. He doesn't have to
- 14:21Speaker 1: win every Republican. He doesn't have to win every suburban woman.
- 14:28Speaker 1: He just has to pick off enough to get over
- 14:31Speaker 1: the finish line. There are enough people who are very naive.
- 14:36Speaker 1: When there is a scam at Enron, there are certain people,
- 14:39Speaker 1: I don't believe they would do that. When there is
- 14:43Speaker 1: a problem at the school, when a coach is banging
- 14:45Speaker 1: a little girl, they're always, but he's not, he's been
- 14:48Speaker 1: to our house for, no, no, he wouldn't do that.
- 14:50Speaker 1: That's all they're saying. That's the margin of victory for them.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Coming up in a bit, Michelle Tafoya's five-point plan to
- 15:01Speaker 1: end Somali gang violence in Mogadishu. Yeah, in addition to
- 15:09Speaker 1: defrauding the people of Minnesota, you also have roving gangs
- 15:15Speaker 1: of Somalis terrorizing the people in the streets. You don't
- 15:20Speaker 1: want to live in most of the rest of the world.
- 15:26Speaker 1: So why would you bring the rest of the world
- 15:28Speaker 1: here to the little bit of heaven that you call home?
- 15:33Speaker 1: That's not kindness. That's suicide. That is a suicidal empathy.
- 15:42Speaker 1: We'll talk a lot about that coming up in the
- 15:44Speaker 1: next hour. I am fascinated by what's going on in Michigan.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I'm fascinated by the fact that Republicans have an opportunity
- 15:52Speaker 1: to take back a Senate seat in Michigan where I
- 15:55Speaker 1: did not think that was going to be possible. But
- 16:03Speaker 1: this Abdul El-Sayed... The Muslims in that state have reached
- 16:11Speaker 1: a critical mass where they can win the nomination. And
- 16:16Speaker 1: the question is going to be, can they win the
- 16:18Speaker 1: statewide vote? Because that's going to happen in the future.
- 16:21Speaker 1: But will this be the time? You've got a number
- 16:25Speaker 1: of black Democrats who are saying, no, no, no, no, no.
- 16:28Speaker 1: We didn't sign up for this.
- 16:30Speaker 7: Uh-oh.
- 16:30Speaker 1: We're not voting for this guy. And you've got a guy,
- 16:35Speaker 1: Abdul El-Sayed, If you look at between him and his buddy,
- 16:40Speaker 1: his surrogate, Hasan Piker, you're talking about a guy who
- 16:45Speaker 1: wants to import the Muslim world here, who has family
- 16:49Speaker 1: ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, who is an Islamist first
- 16:57Speaker 1: and foremost. I mean, we'll just leave aside for a fact,
- 17:01Speaker 1: when he talks about being a doctor treating patients, he
- 17:05Speaker 1: can't treat patients. He's not a physician. He graduated medical school.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I have friends that graduated law school with me, and
- 17:14Speaker 1: they never took the bar and never practiced law. So
- 17:18Speaker 1: they are a lawyer. They're not an attorney. They don't
- 17:23Speaker 1: have a bar card, which is why they can't practice law.
- 17:26Speaker 1: They cannot legally give legal advice. They cannot sign as
- 17:30Speaker 1: an officer of the court. They have a law degree. Fine.
- 17:33Speaker 1: But nobody would argue that they are a practicing attorney. Likewise,
- 17:40Speaker 1: Abdul here never practiced as a doctor, didn't pass the boards,
- 17:47Speaker 1: just graduated medical school. That's not nothing, but it's not everything.
- 17:52Speaker 1: You can't say you flew to the moon because you
- 17:55Speaker 1: went through astronaut school. Or if you were on the
- 17:59Speaker 1: practice squad of the Dallas Cowboys, you can't say you
- 18:03Speaker 1: were an all-pro. It's not true. So let's check in
- 18:08Speaker 1: with what Abdul El-Sayed is actually saying, who he is.
- 18:13Speaker 1: His sister-in-law is on a terror watch list. His family
- 18:20Speaker 1: is associated with the Muslim Brotherhood. Here he is at
- 18:23Speaker 1: a campaign stop, his position on ICE, this is hot
- 18:27Speaker 1: key you, Ramon, his position on ICE in full, right here.
- 18:33Speaker 9: ICE has nothing to do with immigration.
- 18:36Speaker 2: ICE has nothing to do with the southern border. ICE
- 18:40Speaker 2: is about normalizing paramilitary force on our streets.
- 18:44Speaker 9: ICE is about weaponizing the idea of immigration against the
- 18:47Speaker 9: Constitution itself.
- 18:49Speaker 2: ICE cannot be reformed.
- 18:51Speaker 1: ICE cannot be retrained.
- 18:52Speaker 2: ICE has to be abolished.
- 18:55Speaker 3: You're not getting another dime of our money.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Not one more dime.
- 19:01Speaker 1: If someone breaks into your home, and you repel them.
- 19:07Speaker 1: You're not the bad guy as the homeowner. The left
- 19:13Speaker 1: has managed to say things that are so contradictory to
- 19:16Speaker 1: American values. There was a time when Democrats held our position,
- 19:22Speaker 1: but that has changed. And this is a time where
- 19:28Speaker 1: the iron fist inside a velvet globe, they say, well,
- 19:33Speaker 1: It's not nice. These people want to come here. They're sweet, tender,
- 19:36Speaker 1: wonderful people. Ice is evil. Ice is our neighbors. Ice
- 19:43Speaker 1: is your children and my children. Ice are our cousins.
- 19:49Speaker 1: These are people from our country wearing a badge to
- 19:54Speaker 1: do a job that we have asked them to do.
- 19:59Speaker 1: And you got Abdul here who's in bed with the
- 20:01Speaker 1: Muslim Brotherhood declaring that they're bastards. You got Elisa Slotkin
- 20:06Speaker 1: who declaring that she wants to drag them before Congress
- 20:11Speaker 1: and take the mask off. Why? So you can lynch them?
- 20:14Speaker 1: Why are we allowing our neighbors to be talked about
- 20:18Speaker 1: and treated like this by people who want to destroy
- 20:23Speaker 1: us and our families? It is time we stop being
- 20:28Speaker 1: pushed around. Here's Abdul again, talking about his sister being
- 20:35Speaker 1: on the terror watch list. His sister's on the terror
- 20:39Speaker 1: watch list and has, if you listen to the stuff
- 20:42Speaker 1: she has said, you won't believe it. She is absolutely
- 20:48Speaker 1: worthy of being expelled from this country. And you know
- 20:52Speaker 1: what he says? Listen to this.
- 20:54Speaker 5: How backs it up in documentation with the lawsuit that
- 20:56Speaker 5: Miriam Jakaku, who's your sister-in-law.
- 21:00Speaker 2: That she was on the terrorist watch list.
- 21:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:02Speaker 2: What's your response?
- 21:03Speaker 9: Basically, it's exactly the point. She did nothing wrong and
- 21:06Speaker 9: was captured on that and then sued and got off.
- 21:08Speaker 9: So the idea that you can be placed on something
- 21:11Speaker 9: like that because of exactly the infrastructure that Mike Rogers
- 21:13Speaker 9: and his Flockram camera and his Patriot Act and his
- 21:16Speaker 9: surveillance state can do is exactly the point.
- 21:18Speaker 2: So she sued and what happened afterwards? You know what happened, right?
- 21:21Speaker 4: No.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Now let me tell you what happened, because this gets complicated,
- 21:25Speaker 1: but I'm going to try to simplify it. The lawsuit
- 21:28Speaker 1: asking for money got dropped in 2017. Both sides agreed
- 21:32Speaker 1: to dismiss it after the Supreme Court made those claims
- 21:36Speaker 1: a whole lot harder to win. The other lawsuit, the
- 21:40Speaker 1: one about the watch list itself, they did win in
- 21:43Speaker 1: 2019 down in Virginia. Then the Fourth Circuit came along
- 21:48Speaker 1: in 2021 and reversed it. So that's important. The controlling
- 21:53Speaker 1: law is the higher court's ruling. But here's the part
- 21:57Speaker 1: he left out. Her own complaint said she was probably
- 22:01Speaker 1: already off the list by the time they filed. So
- 22:05Speaker 1: there's no judge anywhere that looked at Miriam Jukaku and
- 22:08Speaker 1: said this woman was wrongly listed. Take her off. That
- 22:13Speaker 1: ruling does not exist. Again, the ruling as he says
- 22:18Speaker 1: it does not exist. Okay, so why bring her up
- 22:24Speaker 1: at all? because it's the father. Her father is Abdul's father-in-law.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Tayeb Jukaku ran CARE, you know what CARE is, in
- 22:34Speaker 1: Michigan for five years and still sits on the board.
- 22:37Speaker 1: He's on the Founders Committee of ISNA. Both of those
- 22:42Speaker 1: outfits got named as unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land
- 22:46Speaker 1: Foundation terror financing case, and that trial was right up
- 22:50Speaker 1: the road in Dallas. For me. And this same man
- 22:53Speaker 1: has put $ 300, 000 into the super PAC trying to put
- 22:56Speaker 1: his son-in-law in the U.S. Senate. Yeah, we should be
- 22:59Speaker 1: very concerned. Abdul El-Sayed. The word Abdul means servant of God.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Abdul El-Sayed is now saying that he was named by
- 23:18Speaker 1: his Muslim parents to be a servant of Allah. In 2018,
- 23:23Speaker 1: when he was running for governor, he said the Abdul
- 23:27Speaker 1: was that he was named after Paula Abdul. These people
- 23:32Speaker 1: will say anything. It's not who he was named after, obviously.
- 23:39Speaker 1: They'll say whatever they need to say. On MS Now,
- 23:44Speaker 1: that's what they're calling it now, that's MSNBC, Abdul El-Sayed
- 23:49Speaker 1: sat down for a long interview. It's a friendly interview.
- 23:54Speaker 1: And they said, you know, what about Jews who are
- 23:56Speaker 1: not really sure about this Muslim who's associated with Jew haters?
- 24:03Speaker 1: And then he says, ah, don't worry about it. Israel's awful.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Israel commits war crimes. Israel drags us into wars. And, well,
- 24:17Speaker 1: I'll let you hear it for yourself.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Allies are supposed to care about you implicitly, not just
- 24:23Speaker 2: to use you.
- 24:25Speaker 9: The government of Israel has done nothing but use us.
- 24:28Speaker 9: They use us for our tax dollars. They use us
- 24:31Speaker 9: to run cover at the United Nations. They use us
- 24:33Speaker 9: to run cover at the ICC and ICJ for their
- 24:35Speaker 9: war crimes. Now they use us to go and fight
- 24:38Speaker 9: a war we have no business fighting. We're paying more
- 24:40Speaker 9: in gas. We're paying more in groceries so that they
- 24:42Speaker 9: could help to clear the air to try and annex
- 24:44Speaker 9: southern Lebanon.
- 24:45Speaker 2: How is that helping? What kind of ally is that?
- 24:47Speaker 2: I'm just saying, like, what kind of ally is that?
- 24:48Speaker 8: I guess this is the nuance of it. Do you believe,
- 24:51Speaker 8: are you not in favor of the Israeli government, that
- 24:52Speaker 8: being the regime of Benjamin Netanyahu, or is it Israel,
- 24:55Speaker 8: the state overall?
- 24:56Speaker 9: I mean, I think we've got to get serious, right?
- 24:58Speaker 9: Netanyahu is one part of it. But the Israeli military
- 25:01Speaker 9: has done heinous things. Like, heinous things. Full war crimes, genocide.
- 25:06Speaker 9: So I think we got to just get serious about
- 25:09Speaker 9: whether or not we as a country should be subsidizing
- 25:12Speaker 9: that government.
- 25:13Speaker 2: And look, I've been clear.
- 25:15Speaker 9: I believe in equal rights to peace, dignity and self-determination
- 25:17Speaker 9: for Jewish Israelis and Palestinians.
- 25:19Speaker 2: But right now, that government has done terrible things with
- 25:22Speaker 2: our money. in their name. They pulled us into a
- 25:25Speaker 2: war we had no business fighting.
- 25:26Speaker 9: So to me, an ally is somebody who cares about
- 25:30Speaker 9: you and you care about them.
- 25:32Speaker 2: I don't think they care about us. That's what I've seen.
- 25:34Speaker 8: If Netanyahu were to lose, and again, I just want
- 25:36Speaker 8: to nail down this because it's a very nuanced topic.
- 25:38Speaker 8: If Netanyahu were to lose later this month, would it
- 25:40Speaker 8: change how you believe that the United States should approach
- 25:42Speaker 8: its foreign.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Policy with Israel?
- 25:43Speaker 2: Let's see who the next prime minister is.
- 25:45Speaker 9: But, you know, I'm not hearing any commitment to Palestinian
- 25:48Speaker 9: self-determination from anybody running.
- 25:50Speaker 2: I'm not hearing any commitment.
- 25:51Speaker 9: To ending the policy when it comes to settlements. I'm
- 25:55Speaker 9: not hearing any remorse for the utter annihilation of Gaza.
- 26:01Speaker 2: So, let's see, right? Let's see.
- 26:03Speaker 9: But I think right now, structurally, there are a lot
- 26:06Speaker 9: of issues with that ostensible allyship. And I think the
- 26:10Speaker 9: American public needs to have a conversation about it. And
- 26:13Speaker 9: here's the problem, right? Too often, the American public thinks
- 26:15Speaker 9: one thing, right? You look at poll after poll after
- 26:18Speaker 9: poll after poll. You all have reported on it. And
- 26:20Speaker 9: then American politicians say something else.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Why?
- 26:23Speaker 2: And I think we should be asking, like, why?
- 26:25Speaker 9: Why is it that American politicians aren't having the same
- 26:27Speaker 9: conversation as the American public?
- 26:29Speaker 2: I'm trying to have the conversation with the American public.
- 26:31Speaker 8: In this same vein, what's your message to some Jewish
- 26:32Speaker 8: Democrats who are on the fence right now about whether
- 26:34Speaker 8: or not to support you in this race?
- 26:36Speaker 9: If you are committed to religious pluralism, take a look
- 26:39Speaker 9: at the race that they're running. And ask yourself if
- 26:41Speaker 9: that helps anybody who is a religious minority in this country.
- 26:44Speaker 9: If you're committed to reproductive rights, if you're committed to
- 26:47Speaker 9: democracy itself, there is one candidate on the ballot who's
- 26:50Speaker 9: committed to those things. Now, we may have differences when
- 26:53Speaker 9: it comes to Israel, but the things that you notice
- 26:54Speaker 9: are a lot bigger. I'm committed to the safety and
- 26:56Speaker 9: security of the Jewish community like I'm committed to the
- 26:58Speaker 9: safety and security of all of our communities. I'm committed
- 27:01Speaker 9: to making sure that no matter how you pray, you've
- 27:04Speaker 9: got a place here in America. Nobody can tell you
- 27:06Speaker 9: what you can or can't do because of your faith.
- 27:08Speaker 9: I know what it's like to be discriminated against for
- 27:11Speaker 9: how I pray.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Just turn on the TV.
- 27:14Speaker 9: And so I think the things that unite us are
- 27:15Speaker 9: so much bigger than the things that divide us.
- 27:17Speaker 1: It's interesting when someone like him talks about the freedom
- 27:23Speaker 1: to pray, the freedom to practice your religion. And if
- 27:27Speaker 1: you look at every Muslim country in the world, is
- 27:31Speaker 1: that something that is extended to anyone who is not
- 27:35Speaker 1: a Muslim? That is the position of a person in
- 27:39Speaker 1: the minority. But if put in a position of power,
- 27:46Speaker 1: could that still be his approach? You know, this Israel
- 27:50Speaker 1: question is a very, very complicated question. And it's an
- 27:55Speaker 1: issue where I think Republicans have found themselves in a pickle.
- 28:04Speaker 1: And I think Republicans have allowed themselves to do exactly
- 28:09Speaker 1: what Democrats do on the matter. And that is to say,
- 28:14Speaker 1: if you don't agree with exactly what I say, then
- 28:18Speaker 1: you hate Jews. That's dumb. That's dumb. And that's what
- 28:23Speaker 1: has enabled Abdul El-Sayed, ironically. When you say, as some
- 28:29Speaker 1: Republicans have said, If you so much as question whether
- 28:33Speaker 1: we should be in the Iran war, if you so
- 28:36Speaker 1: much as question whether we should just do what Israel
- 28:38Speaker 1: tells us to do, then you hate Jews. That's not
- 28:44Speaker 1: who we are. That's not the kind of argument we've
- 28:48Speaker 1: always made. But that's exactly where that has been positioned.
- 28:55Speaker 1: And now we find ourselves in a situation where Abdul
- 28:58Speaker 1: El-Sayed says, hey, The Israeli government seems to be driving
- 29:04Speaker 1: American foreign policy, and there are a lot of people
- 29:07Speaker 1: who believe this who are Republicans. Whether you believe it
- 29:11Speaker 1: or not, it does not appear that our foreign policy
- 29:15Speaker 1: is entirely independent and America first, as it should be.
- 29:23Speaker 1: And so you have people, I have watched the marginalization
- 29:27Speaker 1: of Tucker Carlson, for instance. Tucker started by asking questions about, hey,
- 29:34Speaker 1: should we, does Israel have too much influence on our government?
- 29:37Speaker 1: That's a fair question. whether Israel or Pakistan or Mexico
- 29:42Speaker 1: or any other country does. Except the idea is if
- 29:47Speaker 1: you ask that question, you will be attacked. Well, that's
- 29:52Speaker 1: not who we are. That's not who Republicans are. That's
- 29:56Speaker 1: not supposed to be what we do, but it has been.
- 29:59Speaker 1: This is an old trick the Democrats said. If you
- 30:01Speaker 1: question welfare, you hate blacks. Wait, what? If you question
- 30:05Speaker 1: illegal immigration, you hate Hispanics. What? And so Republicans have
- 30:11Speaker 1: created an environment with this don't question American foreign policy
- 30:17Speaker 1: with Israel or you hate Jews. You have created an
- 30:22Speaker 1: environment with people who say that's crap, that you're not
- 30:25Speaker 1: doing that to me. So you make Abdul El-Sayed look reasonable.
- 30:32Speaker 1: There are people who are going to vote for Abdul
- 30:34Speaker 1: El-Sayed against their own best interest because they are angry
- 30:40Speaker 1: at Republicans for playing this game. And that's a terrible idea.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Abdul El-Sayed is a horrible, horrible candidate. And there are
- 30:52Speaker 1: people who are going to have to say, I don't
- 30:54Speaker 1: necessarily like our policy with regard to Israel or the
- 30:57Speaker 1: Iran war or whatever, but I'm not voting for that guy.
- 31:02Speaker 1: That's a challenge we're going to have to meet. We're
- 31:06Speaker 1: going to have to be able to say to people, look,
- 31:08Speaker 1: we can argue over policy with regard to Israel. We
- 31:13Speaker 1: can argue over policy with regard to the Iran war.
- 31:16Speaker 1: We can argue over a number of other things, but
- 31:18Speaker 1: we won't put that guy in power. We're going to
- 31:22Speaker 1: have to be willing to do that. And that's a
- 31:24Speaker 1: nuanced position. And it's a tough position. But this is
- 31:28Speaker 1: why leadership needs to be more careful about playing these
- 31:33Speaker 1: games that people don't like. Screaming racism or Islamism or anti-Semitism.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Knock that off.
