- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It's the almost famous podcast. Yes, we have officially reached.
- 0:11Speaker 2: What I'm gonna say, Ashley is the beginning, the beginning
- 0:14Speaker 2: of a love story, the beginning of a journey into
- 0:18Speaker 2: now reality. It is the end of Charity season of
- 0:21Speaker 2: The Bachelorette, but the beginning of a beautiful relationship that
- 0:24Speaker 2: I would say we were not shocked to see coming.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, it was the greatest. It made me
- 0:30Speaker 3: feel so much. I loved I really loved this season.
- 0:35Speaker 4: And I was thinking while watching it last night, I
- 0:38Speaker 4: was like, I think Charity is my favorite lead. And
- 0:41Speaker 4: this is no offense to the other people who are
- 0:43Speaker 4: so kind and everything, and we've all met the leads
- 0:45Speaker 4: from the past few seasons, but she is my favorite
- 0:48Speaker 4: lead to watch as Why is that since Tasia and Claire.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I don't know, I just feel like she's like so.
- 1:00Speaker 4: I just like I think I think bottom line is
- 1:02Speaker 4: I just relate with her personality the most.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Okay, it just uh what her emotions, the way she
- 1:08Speaker 2: like communicates, the way she navigates you know, difficulty.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yeah, just like it's.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Just her and that also I think I really thought
- 1:21Speaker 4: of it when she was interacting with her family. She
- 1:23Speaker 4: talks to her family like a girl talks to her family,
- 1:27Speaker 4: just like super raw, unfiltered. She did not care that
- 1:30Speaker 4: the camera's there. And I also just related to the
- 1:33Speaker 4: fact that she was like, can you just give me
- 1:34Speaker 4: an answer? I just want an answer. She was like,
- 1:36Speaker 4: I know this isn't like the adult thing to do,
- 1:38Speaker 4: but can you just tell me to pick?
- 1:40Speaker 2: I love it? Why do you think? Well, let's start here.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Charity season is over? I agree. I think Charity was
- 1:48Speaker 2: great to watch. Now I will say, was Charity Uh see?
- 1:53Speaker 2: That was Charity season the most dramatic? No, is that
- 1:55Speaker 2: on her?
- 1:56Speaker 3: That's okay.
- 1:57Speaker 4: We've been saying that we don't even want to be loves.
- 2:00Speaker 2: We got one last night.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:02Speaker 4: It was thrilling. It was so so awesome. I like
- 2:06Speaker 4: got a little tear in my eye. They're the perfect match.
- 2:09Speaker 4: And when I was watching them.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Get engaged, I was thinking she was meant to.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Be the bachelorette because these two were destined to be together.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:18Speaker 4: I know we've said this watching certain proposals before. I
- 2:22Speaker 4: felt this. If I were to go back to my
- 2:24Speaker 4: other favorite Tasha and Zach. So.
- 2:27Speaker 3: I know that moments like that don't.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Always last, but let's just say that, like, I feel
- 2:32Speaker 4: really good about them, and I think this could be it.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel great about him. I think, you know,
- 2:41Speaker 2: dancing with the Stars, as it was announced last night,
- 2:43Speaker 2: that's always a concern because it's a lot of time away.
- 2:48Speaker 2: There's a lot of attention on it. If you talk
- 2:51Speaker 2: to any couple from Bachelor Nation that has done Dancing
- 2:54Speaker 2: with the Stars, it is a difficult process to get
- 2:58Speaker 2: through and keep through healthy. Now if you do, though,
- 3:01Speaker 2: it's not only a great payday. I think it can
- 3:03Speaker 2: build some strength, but it is difficult to do right,
- 3:06Speaker 2: you know, after an engagement. I feel great about him,
- 3:09Speaker 2: though I don't have a lot of worries. I will
- 3:12Speaker 2: be shocked if we ever see a headline that they're
- 3:14Speaker 2: not together. I think they're gonna be one of those
- 3:16Speaker 2: Bachelor Nation couples that people talk about and look at
- 3:19Speaker 2: with this like endearing eye and go wow, Like, this
- 3:23Speaker 2: show kind of does work, or it does work sometimes.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I'm really pumped for the two of them. Let's kind
- 3:32Speaker 2: of break down though, Ashley, this episode a little bit. Obviously,
- 3:35Speaker 2: the Aaron b story was one that you and I
- 3:37Speaker 2: were curious about going into. We got to talk to
- 3:39Speaker 2: Sean McLoughlin yesterday and kind of got his input. If
- 3:43Speaker 2: you haven't listened to that episode yet, please go back
- 3:45Speaker 2: and do that. Aaron B shows back up to the beach.
- 3:48Speaker 2: She flies twelve hours to Fiji. We kind of have
- 3:52Speaker 2: a cliffhanger that's like two weeks long where we don't
- 3:54Speaker 2: know what Charity's gonna do with him.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and she did what we thought, sort of kind of.
- 3:59Speaker 4: She she gave him more time. She didn't give him
- 4:02Speaker 4: an overnight, but she gave him another date, which was surprising.
- 4:06Speaker 4: And I think that it's just like he was third place.
- 4:09Speaker 4: And she has said now since that Xavier, if she
- 4:12Speaker 4: had known about Savior's infidelity early on, she would not
- 4:15Speaker 4: have brought him that far. So you know, I would
- 4:19Speaker 4: consider Aaron B third place.
- 4:21Speaker 3: She likes him.
- 4:23Speaker 4: She said there wasn't enough time to get there, which
- 4:25Speaker 4: is a nice way of saying, it's just not you.
- 4:28Speaker 4: There's just stronger feelings for other people.
- 4:31Speaker 2: See, this is the thing. She keeps him around for
- 4:34Speaker 2: a more time than we expected. I don't think Charity
- 4:37Speaker 2: has ever doubted who the man at the end was
- 4:40Speaker 2: going to be like I think we like, I feel
- 4:43Speaker 2: like being in this position before. I think you always know.
- 4:48Speaker 2: I think there's questions, but I don't think you doubt it.
- 4:51Speaker 2: You just you're trying to convince yourself that maybe it's
- 4:53Speaker 2: too good to be true. You're trying to convince yourself
- 4:56Speaker 2: that maybe there's something wrong that you're not seeing. I
- 5:00Speaker 2: I will say, I don't think she ever doubted I
- 5:01Speaker 2: definitely don't think she ever doubted her final two.
- 5:05Speaker 4: She definitely didn't doubt her final two, which is why
- 5:07Speaker 4: it's where that she even entertained the AAR and B thing.
- 5:09Speaker 2: But that's what I'm saying. It is what it is,
- 5:12Speaker 2: she is, She did her thing. Aaron B was able
- 5:18Speaker 2: to stay a little bit longer than expected, and then
- 5:20Speaker 2: we find out that we're going to watch more of
- 5:21Speaker 2: Aaron B. A little bit of a surprise to me
- 5:23Speaker 2: that we're going to see Aaron B on the beach
- 5:25Speaker 2: in Paradise because he was there for so long. You
- 5:29Speaker 2: typically don't see those leads kind of go right into
- 5:33Speaker 2: Paradise on that first season. But I feel like he
- 5:35Speaker 2: is a good candidate for Paradise because yes, he was
- 5:40Speaker 2: in third, but really fourth and really never stood a
- 5:44Speaker 2: chance kind of towards the end of the show for him.
- 5:47Speaker 2: But I'm excited to see him on the beach. I
- 5:49Speaker 2: think we're going to see a different side of Aaron
- 5:50Speaker 2: b one that isn't so protective of charity but more
- 5:54Speaker 2: intrigued by you know who's there.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Yeah, well, he never stood a chance to be the Bachelor.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Joey was definitely gonna be the Bachelor if he did.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Why do you say that? Though?
- 6:04Speaker 3: He's like what every girl wants the Bachelor to be.
- 6:08Speaker 4: He's just like that very approachable, classic, good looking bachelor
- 6:14Speaker 4: that I feel like people have been waiting for because
- 6:16Speaker 4: he is like good inside and out and we know him,
- 6:19Speaker 4: you know, because the past few Bachelor picks Clayton and
- 6:22Speaker 4: Zach Sorry for the shout outs, but like we didn't
- 6:25Speaker 4: feel like we knew them as much yeers, And now
- 6:29Speaker 4: we're like, oh, we're going with somebody who was a
- 6:31Speaker 4: runner up, who people really were rooting for. I think
- 6:34Speaker 4: that there hasn't been like two people. I was very
- 6:38Speaker 4: much team Dotton, Okay, like I was, But I think
- 6:43Speaker 4: if you were to ask people like I was just
- 6:44Speaker 4: on the phone with my sister, everybody would pretty much
- 6:47Speaker 4: have been like, oh, I get her choice either way.
- 6:51Speaker 4: People really like these top two, That's that's what I'm saying.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Really really liked them, invested in both those stories, and
- 6:57Speaker 4: we just haven't had a lead who's we haven't had
- 7:00Speaker 4: a male lead that we've rooted for in such a
- 7:03Speaker 4: long time, because I think we got to go back
- 7:05Speaker 4: to Matt James, who we didn't know at all. Then
- 7:08Speaker 4: we had the random Clayton, and then we had Zach
- 7:13Speaker 4: who came in was it third or fourth for Rachel,
- 7:16Speaker 4: which we we had two separate stories that.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Year's so many people deprised, We have.
- 7:20Speaker 3: So many people.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Yeah, and people still didn't love Zach and Rachel, so
- 7:25Speaker 4: I you know, also weird pick. People are going to
- 7:28Speaker 4: be really excited for him, and he also has the
- 7:30Speaker 4: look that girls are gonna be like, oh, he's cute.
- 7:34Speaker 4: I want to watch the show, even though I haven't
- 7:36Speaker 4: been watching for the past few seasons.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I think it's a good pick. I mean, I would
- 7:41Speaker 2: even throw Ari into that category two where it's like
- 7:44Speaker 2: Ari haven't been around for a few years. It's not
- 7:47Speaker 2: like the current fan base was involved in his story.
- 7:52Speaker 2: He kind of had to reintroduce himself, and so it
- 7:54Speaker 2: has been a long time since we've had a lead
- 7:56Speaker 2: that we've become familiar with. We've seen their you know,
- 8:00Speaker 2: get broken, but then also step back out into the
- 8:04Speaker 2: lead position, which I think is I do I feel
- 8:07Speaker 2: like after Charity season and after watching it, this felt
- 8:11Speaker 2: like a throwback season, and I imagine Joey's will feel
- 8:14Speaker 2: the same.
- 8:15Speaker 4: I think they could start getting people back because and
- 8:18Speaker 4: I think their plan is this.
- 8:20Speaker 3: They're going to air The Golden Bachelor.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Yeah on Thursdays, which is weird, but that's only an
- 8:24Speaker 4: hour long show, which can really grab people. They can
- 8:27Speaker 4: dedicate an hour and you know, if you're watching Hulu
- 8:30Speaker 4: forty minutes, so that's at eight o'clock. And I think
- 8:34Speaker 4: you're going to get so many fans back to watch
- 8:36Speaker 4: that show, and then they're going to stick around for
- 8:39Speaker 4: Paradise and maybe learn some key players from the past year,
- 8:43Speaker 4: because I mean, yeah, it rolls over into Paradise, like,
- 8:45Speaker 4: oh yeah, I used to watch Paradise a few seasons. Look,
- 8:48Speaker 4: it's just easy to get into. So I think we're
- 8:50Speaker 4: on the right trajectory here. I also just want to
- 8:53Speaker 4: give whoever styled Joey a huge a huge raw.
- 9:01Speaker 3: The hair and whatever was going on.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Because I was watching the finale and like during the
- 9:06Speaker 4: tropical scenes, you know, before he got broken up, I'm like.
- 9:09Speaker 3: What is this dude doing with this hair? It's so weird.
- 9:11Speaker 4: He straightens it at the top and the curls come
- 9:13Speaker 4: out in the side, and I was like, he's a
- 9:15Speaker 4: cute guy. He's not like totally and not that. I'm like, yes,
- 9:18Speaker 4: I'm a married woman, but I'm allowed to say it.
- 9:19Speaker 4: He's not like totally my type, but like I can
- 9:21Speaker 4: understand the appeal. And then he sat on that stage
- 9:25Speaker 4: and I was like, that's a damn handsome man. That
- 9:27Speaker 4: is a freaking bachelor. That is the bachelor treatment that
- 9:31Speaker 4: I loved seeing back in the day. I felt the
- 9:34Speaker 4: same way about chrys Soles when I was on Crystals.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Is like watching Andy season knowing that one of those
- 9:40Speaker 4: guys is gonna be my bachelor.
- 9:41Speaker 3: I was like, I don't know what chrys Soles is
- 9:42Speaker 3: my type.
- 9:43Speaker 4: And then leading up to the filming of my season,
- 9:45Speaker 4: you can see them do the little transformation. I don't
- 9:47Speaker 4: little what they do to you guys. I know, hair
- 9:49Speaker 4: is a big component, maybe a little spray tan. I
- 9:51Speaker 4: don't know what it is. You can tell me, but
- 9:54Speaker 4: like then all of a sudden, crystals got really hot.
- 9:56Speaker 4: And then when I walked out that limo, I was like,
- 9:58Speaker 4: that was the hottest man I've ever seen.
- 10:00Speaker 2: So, Ben, what did I do to you? I think
- 10:03Speaker 2: it's confidence. Okay, you know I've shared my story. My
- 10:07Speaker 2: I had a Bachelor glow down because.
- 10:10Speaker 3: He did what do you mean?
- 10:12Speaker 2: Well, I went look at Watch Night one because like
- 10:15Speaker 2: your sickness. No I'm sick, but no Watch Night one.
- 10:18Speaker 2: I got my hair cut and the barber shaved it
- 10:21Speaker 2: too close in the sides and they had to spray
- 10:23Speaker 2: fake like chalk in my hair so it wasn't like
- 10:26Speaker 2: white wall all around my head.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Well must that part must have grown back within like
- 10:30Speaker 3: two or three weeks. You probably have end.
- 10:33Speaker 2: But you know, I think it's confidence. I think it's wardrobe,
- 10:37Speaker 2: you know, the tailoring.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Yeah, that suit was perfect on him.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I think I think it is though. I think once
- 10:44Speaker 2: you were told hey, you belong here, in any situation
- 10:48Speaker 2: in life, there is like a glow that comes out
- 10:51Speaker 2: of you. And I think the Bachelor and Bachelor does
- 10:54Speaker 2: that to people, is hey, we want you to be
- 10:58Speaker 2: uh here because we believe that you're going to be,
- 11:00Speaker 2: you know, a good lead, and I think that kind
- 11:03Speaker 2: of makes you perk up a bit, you know, it
- 11:05Speaker 2: makes you smile a little bit bigger. Am these these
- 11:09Speaker 2: women and women are working out very hard in between
- 11:11Speaker 2: shows to get in the best shape of their life.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Not always reflects in your face as well.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it does. So really excited for Joey's season. I
- 11:20Speaker 2: do think it's a great pick. I am excited for this,
- 11:23Speaker 2: But we're gonna go back here to to enjoy getting dumped. Well, yeah,
- 11:28Speaker 2: dott and Charity for a second. You know, this wasn't
- 11:32Speaker 2: a surprise to us or to you especially. I thought
- 11:35Speaker 2: there was going to be a twist. I thought it
- 11:37Speaker 2: was too good to be true. I'm glad it was
- 11:40Speaker 2: too good and it's gonna be true, and it is
- 11:42Speaker 2: true today. But you know, let's let's talk for a
- 11:47Speaker 2: second about Charity's time with her.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Family the best. That was great. I was looking forward
- 11:52Speaker 3: to it, and it lived up.
- 11:54Speaker 2: It lived up. When the show, I think knows who
- 12:08Speaker 2: the final choice is gonna be, it's really hard for
- 12:13Speaker 2: that final choice, which I think is unfair to get
- 12:19Speaker 2: to get the benefit of the doubt from the family
- 12:21Speaker 2: because I think there's a lot of ears in the
- 12:22Speaker 2: there's a lot of voices in the family's ears. They
- 12:25Speaker 2: don't know the producers. They don't know what the producers
- 12:27Speaker 2: are trying to accomplish here, and so they'll come in
- 12:29Speaker 2: and say, you know, things like, oh, Charity and Joey,
- 12:33Speaker 2: that couple is meant to be together. Just wait to
- 12:36Speaker 2: see them walk into the room. You're gonna just tell that,
- 12:39Speaker 2: like they they are namored with each other. So obviously
- 12:42Speaker 2: question so interesting. Okay, family was gonna ask what about Dotton.
- 12:47Speaker 2: They're gonna say, you know, it's really great. There's still
- 12:49Speaker 2: a lot of questions, but it's it's it's good. It's good.
- 12:53Speaker 2: You'll just have to see them sci fi semes. Yeah,
- 12:57Speaker 2: but I'll tell you this, but Joey and Charity, like
- 13:00Speaker 2: that is a special relationship. So the family comes in going,
- 13:04Speaker 2: I have no clue who these people are. I'm trusting
- 13:06Speaker 2: their voices, and they seem to think that Joey's the
- 13:09Speaker 2: best choice for her, and so I'm gonna roll with that,
- 13:12Speaker 2: and I'm gonna go with that. And it's so easy
- 13:15Speaker 2: to convince a human of something, especially when they have
- 13:20Speaker 2: no knowledge of any background into it, and I think
- 13:25Speaker 2: that's what happened here.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Well, I tell it to you last night.
- 13:27Speaker 2: You text me last night and you said, this feels
- 13:29Speaker 2: very similar to the Lauren and Jojo situation, and I thought, yes,
- 13:33Speaker 2: it was, because I know what happened and I know
- 13:36Speaker 2: how this played out. And it's unfair, I think for
- 13:40Speaker 2: the lead, because then they're gonna have to watch this
- 13:41Speaker 2: back and be like, oh great, my future in laws
- 13:44Speaker 2: are pretty critical of me.
- 13:45Speaker 4: They don't really like me, I know, to win them over,
- 13:48Speaker 4: and then you feel extra pressure every time you seem
- 13:50Speaker 4: in real life for a while.
- 13:52Speaker 2: So the best way I think to do that is
- 13:53Speaker 2: just like for the in laws to step up and
- 13:54Speaker 2: call DoD and be like, hey, here's the deal. Here's
- 13:57Speaker 2: what went down. We don't know anything about you. If
- 14:00Speaker 2: you're if we're gonna if Charity was basing her marriage
- 14:05Speaker 2: on a four hour long day that we had together,
- 14:10Speaker 2: that's a big problem, and so Dotten. We were very
- 14:13Speaker 2: thankful you're here. We can't wait to get to know
- 14:15Speaker 2: you better. We didn't, you know, all that stuff that
- 14:17Speaker 2: was said was just a part of the process.
- 14:21Speaker 4: They actually didn't say anything bad. They said everything good
- 14:24Speaker 4: about Dotton. They just they just overemphasized their love for Joey.
- 14:29Speaker 4: They definitely were showing preferential treatment to him.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Sure, they were definitely doing that. And I mean a
- 14:34Speaker 2: part of that too is the show, right. I mean,
- 14:36Speaker 2: how so, if you're sitting down at an interview and
- 14:38Speaker 2: you're getting two questions about Dotton, what do you think
- 14:41Speaker 2: of Dotton? How do you feel about Dotten? You answered
- 14:43Speaker 2: both those, but then you're getting thirty questions asked to
- 14:45Speaker 2: you about Joey. It's gonna feel like you talk about
- 14:47Speaker 2: Joey a lot more than you talk about Dotton.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Yeah, that's so true. Well, this is what went on
- 14:52Speaker 3: for me.
- 14:53Speaker 4: I was like, she kept saying in this moment, She's like,
- 14:57Speaker 4: tell me who I should pick, tell me joe should pick.
- 15:00Speaker 4: And then her mom was like, your gut knows, Your
- 15:03Speaker 4: gut knows, and she goes, my gud doesn't know this
- 15:05Speaker 4: time that it knows.
- 15:06Speaker 3: It knows.
- 15:07Speaker 4: And I think that she got defensive with her family
- 15:12Speaker 4: because they were preferring Joey, and in her true guts,
- 15:17Speaker 4: she knew it was Dotton. And I was like, girl,
- 15:19Speaker 4: you are like your behavior here is what one hundred
- 15:22Speaker 4: percent proof that you're supposed to be with Dotton, because
- 15:25Speaker 4: if your family was saying dot and dot and Dotton,
- 15:28Speaker 4: she'd be like, Yep.
- 15:29Speaker 3: You're right.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you're right. And I think there's a
- 15:34Speaker 2: part of this when you meet to families. There's a
- 15:35Speaker 2: lot of build up to that, and you haven't seen
- 15:37Speaker 2: your family for months. They don't know anything about your
- 15:40Speaker 2: story to this point, so you're excited for them and you,
- 15:43Speaker 2: And if you have a close relationship with your family,
- 15:45Speaker 2: you want their input. Their input matters, and really all
- 15:48Speaker 2: you want them to do is like give you that
- 15:51Speaker 2: last little nudge to be like, hey, it's okay if
- 15:54Speaker 2: you get engaged here. I know this is weird, I
- 15:57Speaker 2: know this is awkward. I know this is hard, but
- 15:58Speaker 2: it's okay. You should if you're feeling it, you should
- 16:00Speaker 2: go for it. That's really what the lead needs and wants.
- 16:05Speaker 2: But the opinions of you know who's still there, they
- 16:08Speaker 2: just exist because it's part of the show. I don't
- 16:10Speaker 2: look too far into it. I think every season we've
- 16:12Speaker 2: seen this storyline play out in different ways. We can
- 16:14Speaker 2: go back to obviously this season that I was on,
- 16:17Speaker 2: to JoJo's season, to Caitlin's season, at some level, even
- 16:22Speaker 2: though it kind of got messed up, Like every time
- 16:24Speaker 2: the lead you should know who the who the last
- 16:27Speaker 2: person is going to be based on the family's reactions.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Because it's usually the opposite.
- 16:32Speaker 2: It's usually the opposite.
- 16:33Speaker 3: For for some reason, this time.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Rang a bell to your season more than any I remember,
- 16:40Speaker 4: just because I think it was such a great love
- 16:45Speaker 4: story between her and Dowton, and I think that they
- 16:48Speaker 4: were really trying to throw us off with the family.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. I think it's just I.
- 16:55Speaker 4: Just it felt like they were trying to purposely throw
- 16:58Speaker 4: us off more. And I also think it had to
- 17:01Speaker 4: do with lead two people that were remaining that were
- 17:04Speaker 4: really well liked, and the audience was pretty torn as
- 17:08Speaker 4: to who was gonna win, because I feel like with you,
- 17:12Speaker 4: people were super torn who it was going to be.
- 17:15Speaker 4: You were pretty you yourself really torn. So maybe it's
- 17:19Speaker 4: not the audience. Maybe it's when the lead seems extremely torn,
- 17:25Speaker 4: they're going to throw us off with the family opinion.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Sure. I also think the show was a little wearried
- 17:31Speaker 2: this season that it would be very obvious who she
- 17:33Speaker 2: was going to end up with from like week two. Yeah,
- 17:36Speaker 2: and it still was like it still was pretty obvious.
- 17:40Speaker 2: I don't think either of us doubted that they had
- 17:44Speaker 2: something special, So I think the show was protecting themselves
- 17:47Speaker 2: by trying to throw in one little like wrench to say, hey,
- 17:52Speaker 2: maybe your assumptions aren't correct. Maybe these are good teasers.
- 17:57Speaker 2: They're good for trailers, they're good for emotion, they're good
- 18:01Speaker 2: for a show. So this leads us into then the dates,
- 18:06Speaker 2: the time that Charity gets to spend with each of
- 18:09Speaker 2: her final two on the last week. These are important dates. Actually,
- 18:15Speaker 2: they're meaningful. They're the last moment, and you really hope,
- 18:18Speaker 2: I think as the lead to walk out of these
- 18:19Speaker 2: dates more like confident. It's it's kind of like the
- 18:24Speaker 2: final closure, where it's you're spending time with them, and
- 18:27Speaker 2: after it's done, you can take a deep breath and say,
- 18:29Speaker 2: this process is coming to an end. I'm gonna end
- 18:31Speaker 2: up breaking up with one of these people who I
- 18:33Speaker 2: care about a lot, But now I get to move forward,
- 18:37Speaker 2: like I can start to see the light at the
- 18:39Speaker 2: end of the tunnel. At least that was my experience.
- 18:42Speaker 4: I also think that this is another moment where they
- 18:45Speaker 4: try to throw us off, and this is actually a
- 18:47Speaker 4: moment for me in which I thought that maybe Charity
- 18:51Speaker 4: was leading Joey on. I do think that Joey's date
- 18:53Speaker 4: came first, but I still think that her gut was
- 18:57Speaker 4: secret unbeknownst to her telling her done, and she really
- 19:03Speaker 4: made it seem to Joey like she was going to
- 19:05Speaker 4: pick him. To the point of just saying like I
- 19:08Speaker 4: love you so many times was.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Maybe a little bit Overbrod. I don't know, maybe it's
- 19:13Speaker 3: a little bit Overbrod.
- 19:14Speaker 4: I know she's just like speaking her truth, But I
- 19:17Speaker 4: wonder the double standard would have been.
- 19:20Speaker 3: If this was a guy saying it to two girls.
- 19:22Speaker 2: At the end, well, I mean, we know what that
- 19:25Speaker 2: looks like because.
- 19:26Speaker 3: The amount of time, so we have to bring this up.
- 19:29Speaker 2: It's so ridiculous. It happens every season now.
- 19:32Speaker 4: It was like I, if I was Joey, I would
- 19:34Speaker 4: have been convinced after this date that she was picking me.
- 19:48Speaker 2: But don't you think Joey's reaction to this was different
- 19:52Speaker 2: than past seasons. We'll say it that way, where I
- 19:56Speaker 2: do feel like this was a validation for Joey to
- 19:58Speaker 2: the point where when he was asked to go home. Yes,
- 20:02Speaker 2: there's tears and there's sadness and there's confusion, there's chaos,
- 20:06Speaker 2: but he also has a very I mean it seemed
- 20:08Speaker 2: like it from when they sat by each other that
- 20:09Speaker 2: he has a very clear understanding of how deep and
- 20:12Speaker 2: how much charity felt for him, which you know, as
- 20:16Speaker 2: I've mentioned before, was my goal in the whole thing. No,
- 20:20Speaker 2: not the right thing, but I do think he took
- 20:23Speaker 2: it as this is really hard.
- 20:24Speaker 4: For her totally, and it seems like he respected that
- 20:29Speaker 4: in the end, because he was not the guy that
- 20:32Speaker 4: was like.
- 20:32Speaker 3: You told me this, Like he didn't.
- 20:34Speaker 4: I almost think that he didn't even feel that on
- 20:36Speaker 4: He was just so amazing. It was the moment that
- 20:39Speaker 4: he was like, I just want you to be happy
- 20:42Speaker 4: and your choice this is like at the elder and
- 20:44Speaker 4: your choice to not pick me is you going on
- 20:49Speaker 4: your road to bigger happiness.
- 20:51Speaker 3: And I was like, this is the bachelor we need.
- 20:54Speaker 4: His response getting dumped at the ulcer was his bachelor moment,
- 21:00Speaker 4: because we've seen so many guys get pissy up there
- 21:03Speaker 4: and just leave and not want to hear what the
- 21:05Speaker 4: other person is saying. But they were like embracing each
- 21:08Speaker 4: other so hard, and they kept telling each other that
- 21:10Speaker 4: they loved each other and that they were always going
- 21:12Speaker 4: to have love, and it was like, oh, this man,
- 21:15Speaker 4: yeah he deserves this, this is this is incredible.
- 21:17Speaker 3: This is a true man and he really really.
- 21:22Speaker 4: You know, I think I've said this before. I don't
- 21:24Speaker 4: know how people. Maybe I'm a horrible person. I don't
- 21:28Speaker 4: know how people can be like, I just want you
- 21:30Speaker 4: to be happy when you're being dumbed, okay, you know,
- 21:34Speaker 4: And he really was that person, and that is a
- 21:37Speaker 4: bigger person than me or I imagine myself would be in
- 21:40Speaker 4: that situation.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's hard to assume. Maybe he knew,
- 21:49Speaker 2: maybe he had an idea, Maybe he could tell that
- 21:53Speaker 2: something was off and that he wasn't going to be there.
- 21:56Speaker 2: We didn't see it. Yeah, maybe he was, you know,
- 22:03Speaker 2: standing there and he he's a quick thinker, and he's like, okay, like,
- 22:07Speaker 2: I like this girl. She's amazing, and I want to
- 22:09Speaker 2: say this to her because she shouldn't feel bad about
- 22:14Speaker 2: what steps she's taking now for her happiness. If any
- 22:18Speaker 2: and we're both gonna be okay, I don't know.
- 22:21Speaker 3: I still applaud his composure.
- 22:23Speaker 4: If he was even like okay, like I'm gonna go
- 22:25Speaker 4: break down after this, but I'm going to save this
- 22:28Speaker 4: face for ten minutes.
- 22:30Speaker 2: That's still like it was his bachelor moment. You're right,
- 22:33Speaker 2: everybody has it, well, at least uh the ones that
- 22:37Speaker 2: you know end up shining on the Bachelor have it.
- 22:40Speaker 2: They have their bachelor moment, and this was it, and
- 22:42Speaker 2: it was one that I think will bring a lot
- 22:44Speaker 2: of people to cheer for him, to root for him,
- 22:45Speaker 2: to be excited about him being the bachelor. He's I
- 22:48Speaker 2: don't think he's going in with much criticism. I don't
- 22:50Speaker 2: think many anybody's out there being like, oh, it should
- 22:53Speaker 2: have been so and so there's no that. Yeah, there's
- 22:58Speaker 2: no that, which is very uncommon when we get to
- 23:01Speaker 2: this point in a season. So I do feel like
- 23:03Speaker 2: he's going to uh be a great bachelor and to
- 23:07Speaker 2: be one that is rooted for by many.
- 23:09Speaker 3: Yeah. All right.
- 23:10Speaker 4: So then Charity in Dowton's last day, the thing to
- 23:13Speaker 4: really mention here is he called her a treasure.
- 23:18Speaker 3: He calls her a treasure. That's all we really need
- 23:20Speaker 3: to know.
- 23:21Speaker 4: He shows insecurity for the first time, and I will
- 23:24Speaker 4: say it was warranted because she did bring up Joey
- 23:29Speaker 4: for the first time in their like personal time.
- 23:33Speaker 2: He's been really good though, I mean, up to this point,
- 23:35Speaker 2: he's been really understanding.
- 23:37Speaker 4: He's a confidence, quite confidence, quiet confidence.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I mean you're day away from potentially being with his treasure,
- 23:45Speaker 2: so of course there's going to be insecurity. Like that
- 23:49Speaker 2: just makes you really like happy. Doesn't it to be
- 23:52Speaker 2: called a treasure?
- 23:53Speaker 3: I know nobody says that.
- 23:55Speaker 2: It's like, oh he does.
- 23:57Speaker 3: I know, Doton, he's a prince charming.
- 24:00Speaker 4: I love him so much.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Okay, so then well let's get to their their proposal.
- 24:06Speaker 3: It's just everything I want a bachelor proposal to be.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I got a little tear now.
- 24:11Speaker 2: The impressive part for me watching this is I you know,
- 24:14Speaker 2: I've been in this situation there there is not a
- 24:16Speaker 2: script like you write this preparing for it.
- 24:20Speaker 3: So impressive, So you know obviously you.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Like kind of black out. It's a very nerve wracking moment.
- 24:26Speaker 2: It's a very vulnerable moment because you start talking and
- 24:30Speaker 2: you don't like especially as a contestant, and you don't
- 24:33Speaker 2: know like if you're going to be there in the
- 24:36Speaker 2: end or not, if you're gonna get broken up with
- 24:37Speaker 2: after you say all these things that are very sweet
- 24:39Speaker 2: and kind as a lead, it's super weird because you're
- 24:43Speaker 2: asked not to interrupt, which I think is fair, like
- 24:46Speaker 2: you can't interrupt.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Or you should help my God, thank you, I love.
- 24:50Speaker 2: It, yeah, or you can't say stop, or you can.
- 24:54Speaker 2: It's just like when's it appropriate to be like, hey, stop,
- 24:57Speaker 2: this is over. But you do prepare these things here,
- 25:00Speaker 2: and I do. I think that both of theirs was
- 25:02Speaker 2: very beautiful.
- 25:03Speaker 3: They're like wedding vows.
- 25:04Speaker 4: Okay, they're usually wedding vows basically, but these were just different.
- 25:08Speaker 4: I'm going to read a couple of these lines. He
- 25:11Speaker 4: talks about how he was like if he was imagining
- 25:14Speaker 4: himself as a four year old, the kid on the
- 25:16Speaker 4: immigration card that he gave her during the last day,
- 25:19Speaker 4: he would never imagine where he was today. He just
- 25:21Speaker 4: wanted to have love and give love. And he tells
- 25:25Speaker 4: Charity that she makes him feel so special, adored, validated,
- 25:29Speaker 4: and wanted, and he's certain that he wants to spend
- 25:31Speaker 4: the rest of her life, his life with her, and
- 25:33Speaker 4: he wouldn't change a single thing about her. I think
- 25:38Speaker 4: that he said something along the lines of like a
- 25:40Speaker 4: woman of your caliber, that's amazing. He was like, you're
- 25:45Speaker 4: just so confident and like, I can't imagine it is
- 25:49Speaker 4: a dream come true that a woman like you would
- 25:51Speaker 4: choose to be with somebody like me. Amazing. And then
- 25:56Speaker 4: she says she goes back to Oceanside where they shared
- 26:00Speaker 4: a moment that changed her life. When she looked in
- 26:03Speaker 4: his eyes in that moment, she saw a man that
- 26:05Speaker 4: respected her, value to her, adored her, and a man
- 26:07Speaker 4: that she could love forever. He's made her feel alive
- 26:11Speaker 4: and made her know that she can love again. She
- 26:14Speaker 4: wants a future with him, and she wants to call
- 26:17Speaker 4: him her husband. Ugh, it was just incredible.
- 26:21Speaker 3: I love this moment. I love seeing them on stage
- 26:23Speaker 3: because when we.
- 26:24Speaker 4: See them brought out on stage, you know, we're always
- 26:27Speaker 4: looking for cues as to maybe this isn't as fairy
- 26:30Speaker 4: tale like as it ended on you know, on that altar,
- 26:34Speaker 4: and it is.
- 26:35Speaker 3: They look great.
- 26:37Speaker 2: It's very fairy tale. Congratulations to two of them, obviously.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Then they get the announcement where Dog gets to reveal
- 26:46Speaker 2: to Charity that she's going to be on Dancing with
- 26:48Speaker 2: the Stars. That's a big next step. We talked about
- 26:50Speaker 2: that beginning. It's a huge step. It's a lot of time,
- 26:53Speaker 2: but I believe, yes, their fairy tale will continue. I
- 26:55Speaker 2: don't have a doubt for them personally. Also, as we've
- 26:59Speaker 2: talked about, Joey was announced as the next bachelor, and
- 27:02Speaker 2: then Dott and Charity are going on a little trip
- 27:04Speaker 2: to Greece. Lucky her, she is just living her best
- 27:09Speaker 2: life right now. She is living. Yeah, the bachelorette dream.
- 27:13Speaker 2: It is not going to end anytime soon. Ashley final
- 27:18Speaker 2: thoughts on this season as we wind up this breakdown
- 27:21Speaker 2: of Charity season of The.
- 27:22Speaker 4: Bachelorette, I think that if you didn't watch this season,
- 27:26Speaker 4: which if you didn't watch the season, you're.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Probably not listening to this episode.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Sure, but if you didn't, I think they gave us
- 27:33Speaker 4: exactly what we were asking for sure, And I think
- 27:36Speaker 4: it was a little bit of a renaissance for the
- 27:38Speaker 4: old school seasons, and I think it should be watched,
- 27:40Speaker 4: and I think this couple should be absolutely adored on well.
- 27:46Speaker 2: With that, congratulations to Charity in Dott and we are
- 27:49Speaker 2: so excited for you, and congratulations to Joey for being
- 27:52Speaker 2: the next bachelor. But Charity and Dot and we hope
- 27:55Speaker 2: if you ever hear this or you get a clip
- 27:56Speaker 2: of it, or if itever makes a headline that the
- 28:01Speaker 2: two of you are together We're excited to celebrate you
- 28:05Speaker 2: as a couple here at the Almost Samis podcast. We
- 28:07Speaker 2: can't wait to catch up with you soon.
- 28:08Speaker 4: There was a lot more in this episode, like the
- 28:11Speaker 4: fact that Jesse kept teasing that there was somebody in
- 28:14Speaker 4: the audience who was going to have their life change
- 28:16Speaker 4: and was going to be on the new season and
- 28:18Speaker 4: meet the new Bachelor aka Joey at the end of
- 28:21Speaker 4: the night, and we did get that.
- 28:23Speaker 3: She seems like a sweet girl. She's from Hawaii and
- 28:25Speaker 3: that's where Joey currently lives.
- 28:28Speaker 4: And there's apparently another surprise that'll be waiting for us
- 28:33Speaker 4: on the first episode of that season because she got
- 28:36Speaker 4: an envelope. It's not a day card, but we won't
- 28:39Speaker 4: find out what was in the envelope until she gets
- 28:42Speaker 4: out of the limo into the Bachelor mansion. So we
- 28:45Speaker 4: also got the Bachelor and Paradise trailer.
- 28:48Speaker 3: It looks really good.
- 28:49Speaker 4: There's some stuff that we want to break down, so
- 28:50Speaker 4: we're going to do a separate episode for that along
- 28:53Speaker 4: with Bachelor headlines this week. Just keep refreshing those podcast feeds.
- 28:58Speaker 4: It'll be in your library very soon.
