- 0:00Speaker 1: Now the Red Beret has returned to radio. Curtis lee
- 0:05Speaker 1: Wall guest host the Mark Simone Show on seven ten WOO.
- 0:16Speaker 2: This is the place that you should be all the
- 0:20Speaker 2: time to get your talk radio information, news, and most
- 0:25Speaker 2: importantly entertainment, because that's what talk radio should be. If
- 0:29Speaker 2: it's good talk radio. If it's not entertaining, wow, see
- 0:35Speaker 2: you later. And that's uh. Those are your options. Nowadays
- 0:39Speaker 2: you have so many options to be able to listen,
- 0:41Speaker 2: to look at read, many many more than when we
- 0:47Speaker 2: were all growing up. I remember in the wee hours
- 0:51Speaker 2: of the morning, I would be listening to a little
- 0:54Speaker 2: Sony transistor radio underneath the pillow in my room in
- 0:59Speaker 2: Canarsi being raised by my father, Chester merchant symen close
- 1:03Speaker 2: to fifty years my mother Francesca, dental technician, and they
- 1:07Speaker 2: would sort of patrol the area. I wonder if I
- 1:11Speaker 2: was listening, remember the smell from that Sony transistor radio.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I'd be listening to Long John Neville and Candy Jones.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Oh hey had me believing that Candy Jones was a
- 1:24Speaker 2: CIA agent. And you could actually dig a hole all
- 1:27Speaker 2: away from Bayone, New Jersey, the gateway to the world,
- 1:31Speaker 2: down to peeking red China there Malchi tongue. They actually
- 1:35Speaker 2: had you believe in that. That's great. Theodore of the Mind.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Now person I never listened to, but was a fixture
- 1:42Speaker 2: here of you off for years, Gene Shepherd. A lot
- 1:45Speaker 2: of people said over the years, Wow, got a lot
- 1:49Speaker 2: of Gene Shepherd in you. You could take sort of
- 1:51Speaker 2: a story and build a narrative around it and sort
- 1:56Speaker 2: of transition us almost in a time machine to a date,
- 2:01Speaker 2: place and time different than now. And once I listened
- 2:06Speaker 2: to a few of the old tapes, boy, that was
- 2:08Speaker 2: a real great compliment. And that was overnight radio. Good.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Overnight radio is theater of the mind. Lousy overnight radio
- 2:16Speaker 2: as if you try to do normal talk radio and
- 2:19Speaker 2: it falls flat. One of the things I remember talking
- 2:24Speaker 2: about when I did late night radio at the dysfunctional
- 2:30Speaker 2: station of WABC, which used to be always broadcasting Curtis.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Now it's always blaming and always bashing Curtis well Is.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Remember when Scooi Louis Farrakhon came on with it couple
- 2:45Speaker 2: take a couple of nightline. I was talking about the
- 2:48Speaker 2: mothership connection that was circling the world and how many
- 2:52Speaker 2: little jet planes would be emerged and what we clearly
- 2:58Speaker 2: understood and just listening to his Zya tribe. This guy,
- 3:04Speaker 2: that's why I call him School Louis Hurrican and yet
- 3:07Speaker 2: he's had his followers over the years and now even
- 3:12Speaker 2: though he has somehow survived till ninety two, and you
- 3:15Speaker 2: don't want to miss it, I'm gonna tell you a
- 3:16Speaker 2: story where the Grim Reaper could have took him away
- 3:19Speaker 2: and should have in a much earlier time, because, believe
- 3:24Speaker 2: it or not, even at the age of ninety two,
- 3:28Speaker 2: the bile, the anti Semitism continues to pour from his lips.
- 3:35Speaker 2: You know, he's the old school anti Semite. The new Jack,
- 3:38Speaker 2: I guess is Nazi boy. I think he fontes right,
- 3:41Speaker 2: that's the new Jack. But old school O g right, O.
- 3:45Speaker 2: GI Fairy can't. But it's now a litmus tests And
- 3:50Speaker 2: I truly believe if you did a survey in the
- 3:53Speaker 2: African American community of the most respected black African American
- 3:58Speaker 2: figure in America today, first, without a doubt, at Barack
- 4:01Speaker 2: Obama talk about being a smooth operator, like the Shade
- 4:05Speaker 2: song smooth. In fact, if I think if he ran
- 4:08Speaker 2: against Donald Trump, he'd beat Donald Trump nationally, that's how
- 4:11Speaker 2: much love there is for Barack Obama. I mean he
- 4:15Speaker 2: was good.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Uh.
- 4:18Speaker 2: You know who would come out number two? No, not
- 4:21Speaker 2: not out slim shady, sharpman, No, it would be Lewis Farakhun. Yes,
- 4:30Speaker 2: the legacy of hate continues. It's almost like a litmus test.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I know for a lot of you, you don't follow
- 4:39Speaker 2: the world of rap, but I certainly have. And you
- 4:44Speaker 2: look on the Instagram pages of some of the big
- 4:49Speaker 2: time rappers. Some of them have gone mainstream, some of
- 4:51Speaker 2: them who are doing cartoons, some of them who are
- 4:54Speaker 2: promoting Fortune five hundred products. Some of them who have
- 4:58Speaker 2: escaped going to jail themselves, like Snoop Doggie Dog who
- 5:01Speaker 2: did a drive by shooting in Los Angeles and a
- 5:05Speaker 2: jury all of a sudden said, uh, seeming to suffer
- 5:12Speaker 2: a little dementia, a little Alzheimer's. See, I can't quite
- 5:14Speaker 2: connect the dots. Well. He has gone on to become
- 5:18Speaker 2: a superstar in Hollywood, even though he does puff puff
- 5:22Speaker 2: pass all the time. I mean he's in a let's
- 5:24Speaker 2: face it a drug induce psychosis. This guy love Farra
- 5:29Speaker 2: can still does right Instagram. There's Snoop Dogg with Farakhn
- 5:33Speaker 2: llll cool Jay Right mainstream artist TV shows there he
- 5:39Speaker 2: is the Fhara Khannas. She broke my heart when I
- 5:44Speaker 2: saw Chaka Khan, Chaka Chaka Chakka Cohn performing for Scooy
- 5:48Speaker 2: Louis Farakhan. Oh, you go right on down the line.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Kendrick Lamar was it ice Qbiced, t Ice, trave and
- 5:55Speaker 2: l ice. One of the ice is there. They're all
- 5:58Speaker 2: fat Joe. It's almost like an insistence. And when you
- 6:04Speaker 2: go to the Instagram site, you got to be a
- 6:05Speaker 2: picture somewhere of the most virulent anti Semite that is
- 6:11Speaker 2: approaching one hundred years old. Soon they'll probably live to
- 6:15Speaker 2: them because of all the hate and the bile that
- 6:17Speaker 2: he has. Ninety two still kicking it. Oh, you know,
- 6:21Speaker 2: want to miss the story of how the grim Reaper
- 6:24Speaker 2: could have taken him away, but unfortunately he survived for
- 6:28Speaker 2: another hateful day. Well, now the Anti Defamation League, they're
- 6:32Speaker 2: vetting out people who have been appointed to incoming mayors.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Are on Mondamini's transitional team. One of them is a
- 6:40Speaker 2: lawyer who has a history of praising and associating with
- 6:45Speaker 2: Friar Kine, and the question is should that exclude him
- 6:50Speaker 2: from consideration. I don't fault the ADL for vetting these appointees.
- 6:58Speaker 2: That's what transparency is, that's what should be taking place,
- 7:02Speaker 2: especially when we just went through the anniversary of the
- 7:08Speaker 2: Dreyfus affair. We're the French captain now, for Dreyfus was
- 7:13Speaker 2: wrongfully convicted of passing military secrets to the Germans, sentence
- 7:19Speaker 2: to life imprisonment at Devil's Island, and it turned out
- 7:24Speaker 2: it was the result of severe anti Semitism. Oh yeah,
- 7:32Speaker 2: oh yeah, and the term is Jacque's. In fact, I
- 7:38Speaker 2: think that pedophile on a pedestal. Roman Polanski did a
- 7:44Speaker 2: movie about this. I think so after he escaped to Paris.
- 7:48Speaker 2: In fact, little brief side the bar here, I was
- 7:53Speaker 2: named the Grand Marshal of the annual Pulaski Day parade
- 7:58Speaker 2: for Polish Americans. Fifth Avenue. You go to the mass
- 8:01Speaker 2: first at Tank Patrick's Cathedral. I'm coming out with the
- 8:04Speaker 2: tucks and tails and I red beret and a tourist
- 8:08Speaker 2: bus pulls up from San Diego, where I've had guardian
- 8:11Speaker 2: angels down in Balboa Park, the gas Light district over
- 8:15Speaker 2: in southeast San Diego, some relatively tough areas. People get
- 8:20Speaker 2: off to the bus they're gonna go on to Saint
- 8:22Speaker 2: Patrick's Cathedral. They recognize me, they come running up, Curtis,
- 8:26Speaker 2: I didn't know that Polish Americans have a parade to
- 8:29Speaker 2: honor Roman Polanski. No, it's Pulaski. General Pulaski well not
- 8:36Speaker 2: only went into the Deep South and fought regular British
- 8:40Speaker 2: troops in the American Revolution, but they actually have this
- 8:45Speaker 2: huge tomb in statue to him in Savannah, Georgia. You
- 8:48Speaker 2: go throughout the South where I've been Arkansas, you go
- 8:52Speaker 2: to Georgia, you go to Tennessee, they have Pulaski County.
- 8:56Speaker 2: They don't even teach the kids in the schools why
- 8:58Speaker 2: the county was named after Pulaski. In fact, they unearthed
- 9:03Speaker 2: his tomb recently because they said he was a harmaphrodite.
- 9:09Speaker 2: You know what that is is he look it up?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Look it up, go google it. Why would you take
- 9:13Speaker 2: the guy's body out? He was one of the reasons
- 9:17Speaker 2: we won the American Revolution. As we approach our two
- 9:20Speaker 2: hundred and fifty anniversary this coming year, onearthed his body
- 9:27Speaker 2: try to determine if he was a harmaphrodite. Uh. And
- 9:31Speaker 2: then of course it was kaysjewsco not Casiasco, General Kyjewsko,
- 9:36Speaker 2: who helped George Washington and convinced him the West Point
- 9:40Speaker 2: should become the college for not just the United States military,
- 9:46Speaker 2: but for engineering, against the will of Thomas Jefferson, the
- 9:49Speaker 2: fellow Virginian of George Washington, who wanted that to be VMI. Yep,
- 9:55Speaker 2: cause jewsto they don't teach you that in school. But anyway,
- 9:59Speaker 2: I mean, there were as people were thinking getting off
- 10:01Speaker 2: of that tour bus from San Diego, that that parade,
- 10:05Speaker 2: the annual Pulaski Day parade, was not in honor of
- 10:08Speaker 2: General Pulaski and in honor of Roman Polanski. So the
- 10:14Speaker 2: Dreyfish affair, which was based on the Protocols of the
- 10:18Speaker 2: Elders of Zion, which was circulated by the Czar of
- 10:23Speaker 2: Russia and fed anti Semitism, which has been a problem
- 10:27Speaker 2: for so many decades and has reared its ugly head
- 10:31Speaker 2: up again as it always does. But the one fixture
- 10:35Speaker 2: of anti Semitism that has been around forever and ever
- 10:39Speaker 2: is screwy Louis Farak, and so coming up, got to
- 10:45Speaker 2: discuss a little bit about Eric Adams Swagerman with no plan,
- 10:49Speaker 2: who's been traveling around the world at taxpayer's expense. What
- 10:52Speaker 2: was he in Israel? Uzbekistan? He probably can't even find
- 10:55Speaker 2: Uzbekistan on a map. Then recently in Mexico. And we're
- 11:00Speaker 2: paying for all this stuff, right, we're paying for this.
- 11:02Speaker 2: This guy was hopelessly corrupt. Should have been actually put
- 11:08Speaker 2: in jail, put on trial for corruption. I know all
- 11:12Speaker 2: about it. And you remember, you remember is the piece
- 11:19Speaker 2: in the monopoly game that we all hoped that we
- 11:21Speaker 2: would get under the Christmas tree as a president from
- 11:26Speaker 2: Santy Claus, remember missed the monopoly in his tuxedo as
- 11:30Speaker 2: he flies out of an open bird cage. That was
- 11:36Speaker 2: the corrupt Eric Adams at that annual Alsmith didn't remember
- 11:40Speaker 2: which Trump suggested openly for the first time that he
- 11:45Speaker 2: was a victim of law fare, the over extending reach
- 11:50Speaker 2: of Joe Biden's Department of Justice, instead of not realizing
- 11:55Speaker 2: as anybody else would, that he got wooted out a
- 12:01Speaker 2: prison cell which he would have shared with gold bars
- 12:04Speaker 2: Bobby Menendez the center of New Jersey in his striped
- 12:07Speaker 2: convict uniform instead, and now he's acting like he did
- 12:14Speaker 2: nothing wrong. It's interesting. Three key figures on the political scene.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Eric Adams with Discraciada never did anything wrong, andrewis Eliscomo
- 12:27Speaker 2: never did anything wrong. Donald Trump never did anything well,
- 12:29Speaker 2: they never did anything wrong. They're the perfect people. Everything
- 12:32Speaker 2: was perfect, perfect, except that's not the case. And I
- 12:37Speaker 2: was amazed that last week. I guess he took a
- 12:40Speaker 2: pit stop here, you know, and being mayor, he decided
- 12:45Speaker 2: to bury a time capsule to be dug up in
- 12:48Speaker 2: ten years, as if anything that went on in his
- 12:52Speaker 2: corrupt and chaotic administration which led to the election of
- 12:56Speaker 2: Zorhan Mandami should be put in a capsule and buried
- 13:01Speaker 2: and then brought up in ten years for everybody to
- 13:06Speaker 2: take a look at. And I would say the first
- 13:09Speaker 2: thing was probably a wad of cash in a red
- 13:12Speaker 2: envelope stuffed inside of an open bag of hers sour
- 13:16Speaker 2: cream and onion ripple potato chips that his very dear
- 13:21Speaker 2: grifter and bag lady. Oh my god, Oh she was
- 13:29Speaker 2: so bad, this woman in attempting to bribe Katie honan
- 13:35Speaker 2: of the city. Oh man, it's like he's trying to
- 13:42Speaker 2: reinvent history. But his love affair with Fhara Khan goes
- 13:46Speaker 2: back quite a bit. In fact, in the nineties he
- 13:51Speaker 2: decided that he would run for Congress against Major Owens
- 13:56Speaker 2: because Major Owens, along with David Dinkins and Maya said
- 13:59Speaker 2: no and should not speak in New York. And at
- 14:03Speaker 2: that time Eric Adams took money from the Nation of Islam,
- 14:08Speaker 2: had Nation of Islam members collecting signatures to qualify him
- 14:12Speaker 2: to run, and was endorsed by Skooy Louis Fara Khan
- 14:15Speaker 2: and used to hang out with his very dear friend
- 14:17Speaker 2: Conrad Muhammad at the Nation of Islam mosque in Harlem. Now,
- 14:25Speaker 2: people didn't want to talk about that in the election
- 14:27Speaker 2: of twenty twenty one. They basically took the etcher sketch out.
- 14:32Speaker 2: And have you ever asked Eric Adams about Scooy Louis Farakh.
- 14:38Speaker 2: He would sidestep that issue. Look, he's not an anti Semite,
- 14:41Speaker 2: Eric Adams, There's no doubt about it. But he did
- 14:45Speaker 2: have a major love affair with Scooy Louis Farakh. That's
- 14:49Speaker 2: well noted. But people didn't want to talk about it then.
- 14:54Speaker 2: So the question is any kind of relationship that you
- 14:57Speaker 2: had or you have with Skooy Louis Farrick Canada, Nation
- 15:01Speaker 2: of Islam, should that immediately disqualify you from having anything
- 15:05Speaker 2: to do with the government. The boy. A lot of
- 15:09Speaker 2: people in government will now have to recuse themselves and
- 15:12Speaker 2: may have to look for a different occupation. Our numbers
- 15:17Speaker 2: one eight hundred and three to two one zero seven ten.
- 15:22Speaker 2: That's one eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 15:25Speaker 2: On this your place to be from now on sevent
- 15:28Speaker 2: ten WR, The Pulse.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Of New York On the Voice of New York, Curtis
- 15:36Speaker 1: Sleiewald Guess hosts for Marx them on sevent ten WR.
- 15:45Speaker 2: I have a suggestion for the outgoing Eric Adams Swagerman
- 15:51Speaker 2: with no plan got wine dying the pocket line, so
- 15:56Speaker 2: that Bob Barker remember the price is right. He got
- 15:59Speaker 2: his price and then he dropped out of the mayoral
- 16:01Speaker 2: race in September, and he's been moaning and groaning ever
- 16:05Speaker 2: since and traveling around the world at taxpayer's expense. Apparently
- 16:10Speaker 2: he's meeting with Kathy Hockel today. Maybe Kathy Hochel can
- 16:15Speaker 2: do for him what was done for the one hundredth
- 16:21Speaker 2: mayor of New York City a long time ago. I
- 16:25Speaker 2: think it was actually in nineteen fifty for William O'Dwyer.
- 16:33Speaker 2: He was the one hundredth Mayor of New York City corrupt.
- 16:37Speaker 2: When he had been Brooklyn DA from nineteen forty to
- 16:41Speaker 2: nineteen forty five, he was in the back pocket a
- 16:44Speaker 2: Murder Incorporated, the Jewish mob run by lepk and the
- 16:49Speaker 2: Italian faction of Albert Anastasia and quick Kid twist Rellis,
- 16:55Speaker 2: who was a hit man if you looked at his
- 16:57Speaker 2: LinkedIn page at the time, wht's what is your rocket patient?
- 17:00Speaker 2: Hitman for Murder Incorporated, which was out of Brownsville, and
- 17:05Speaker 2: he decided to be a rat eat the parmesan chief.
- 17:08Speaker 2: So they were housing him at the Half Moon Hotel
- 17:10Speaker 2: in Coney Island, sixth floor six detectives from William Old
- 17:15Speaker 2: Dwyer's DA's office in Brooklyn, and suddenly Albert Twistdrellers proved
- 17:21Speaker 2: that men could not fly because somehow he fell or
- 17:26Speaker 2: was pushed out of that sixth floor window. He had
- 17:30Speaker 2: already testified against six members of Murder Incorporated, all of
- 17:34Speaker 2: whom got the juice in their caboose in sing sing
- 17:37Speaker 2: old sparky Jews and Italians, and then the last one
- 17:41Speaker 2: he was going to testify against was Albert Anastasia. Well,
- 17:45Speaker 2: he never made it to the witness stand, and so
- 17:49Speaker 2: this all came back to haunt William Oldwyer as mayor.
- 17:53Speaker 2: They were going to indict him, convict him, when all
- 17:56Speaker 2: of a sudden the phone rang from the White House.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Was President Truman at that time. He said, you know,
- 18:02Speaker 2: we're desperately in need of a US ambassador to Mexico, desperate,
- 18:08Speaker 2: and I want you to leave being mayor. We're gonna
- 18:13Speaker 2: give you a ticket tape parade to the Kenyon of Heroes. Yeah,
- 18:16Speaker 2: ticker tape parade for this crook. And he went on
- 18:20Speaker 2: to become the ambassador to Mexico eventually to come back
- 18:25Speaker 2: and help put together the first Israel Day Parade, which
- 18:30Speaker 2: there's a question as to whether Zorahanmandami will participate as
- 18:34Speaker 2: mayor we know that ain't happening, or if he would
- 18:37Speaker 2: cancel it. I don't think he'll do that, but that's
- 18:39Speaker 2: for another day. Maybe what should have been done when
- 18:46Speaker 2: Kathy Hokl had Eric Adams on the ropes, Remember she
- 18:49Speaker 2: could have fired him. A governor has the right to
- 18:52Speaker 2: fire a may an. O. It's never been done before close,
- 18:56Speaker 2: but they didn't quite do it, and she could have
- 19:00Speaker 2: fired him, but he held on basically did whatever she asked. Yes, ma'am,
- 19:05Speaker 2: Yes ma'am, Yes ma'am. Now you remember Tom Holman when
- 19:09Speaker 2: Eric Adams was singing sitting on that sofa there at
- 19:12Speaker 2: Fox and Friends in the morning, and Tom Holman is
- 19:15Speaker 2: talking to the crew there and he says, Eric Adams
- 19:19Speaker 2: on National TV, and if I come back here, Eric
- 19:23Speaker 2: and I find out the NYPD is not working with ICE,
- 19:27Speaker 2: I will put my boot up your butt. And Eric
- 19:32Speaker 2: Adams proud, righteous, your old Asiatic black man, right, didn't
- 19:38Speaker 2: even blink. I have seen that video over and over
- 19:42Speaker 2: every time I go into an African American community, they said,
- 19:45Speaker 2: could you believe what the brother did here? He didn't
- 19:48Speaker 2: even object to that. He didn't even turn to Tom
- 19:52Speaker 2: Holman and say, don't use that language towards me, because
- 19:54Speaker 2: he knew they had him by the short hairs. That
- 19:58Speaker 2: the only reason he got that get out of jail
- 20:02Speaker 2: pass was because he promised to cooperate with ICE, even
- 20:11Speaker 2: though the sanctuary city laws here in New York City,
- 20:14Speaker 2: which I opposed, say that you cannot. But he was
- 20:21Speaker 2: looking there and he will never ever overcome that in
- 20:26Speaker 2: the African American community because he had sold them Wolf tickets.
- 20:33Speaker 2: You know, at some point I got to discuss Atlantic
- 20:37Speaker 2: City now that we have the three casinos, including the
- 20:42Speaker 2: Resorts World that got one of them, Thessino there, remember
- 20:45Speaker 2: Yonkers at the track got it there. They decided they
- 20:48Speaker 2: didn't want to go for the full license. Three two
- 20:51Speaker 2: in Queens, one in the Bronx, and talk about how
- 20:56Speaker 2: that may be the last. Now in the coffin for
- 20:58Speaker 2: Atlantic City, which is a place that Eric Adams could
- 21:02Speaker 2: have easily been the mayor of since so many of
- 21:04Speaker 2: them have been indicted five since nineteen eighty one, including
- 21:09Speaker 2: the most recent one Marty Smalls Junior for voter fraud.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Hoh shocking. Oh, you don't want to go anywhere. Oh,
- 21:18Speaker 2: by the way, I did promise you we will go
- 21:19Speaker 2: to the phone so your voice could be heard at
- 21:22Speaker 2: your newfound station for some your old friend seven ten
- 21:26Speaker 2: wor are numbers one eight hundred three two one zero
- 21:30Speaker 2: seven ten. That's one eight hundred three two one zero
- 21:34Speaker 2: seven ten.
- 21:35Speaker 1: The voice that fights for New York. Literally Curtis Leewah,
- 21:40Speaker 1: guest host for Mark Simone on sevent ten.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Woor has promised, it's your turn to be heard here.
- 21:51Speaker 2: And when I'm hoping so many of you will turn
- 21:53Speaker 2: to seven to ten WOR for all your talk radio
- 21:56Speaker 2: content as I have. Let's go to if we can't, Mike,
- 22:02Speaker 2: Who's calling from Long Island? Your turn to be heard
- 22:05Speaker 2: here at seven ten wor.
- 22:07Speaker 4: Mikey, Hey, Curtis, how you're doing. It's great to hear
- 22:11Speaker 4: you back on the radio. I'm an old Khanassie boy
- 22:14Speaker 4: had a store on Avenue Well in Kanasi. I'm pretty
- 22:17Speaker 4: sure you used to shop there many years ago. My
- 22:20Speaker 4: wife and I started it. It's about fifty years ago
- 22:23Speaker 4: we started it, and I remember how you used to
- 22:26Speaker 4: help that community when mister Shopton had his march down
- 22:30Speaker 4: Avenue Well and prisce Realty was doing all of his things.
- 22:34Speaker 4: And listen, I just want to tell you I thank
- 22:37Speaker 4: you for everything you've done in the past, and how
- 22:40Speaker 4: certain people were promoting Crolo to be a mayor with
- 22:44Speaker 4: his background. He's a criminal. Politics is a dirty business. Unfortunately,
- 22:50Speaker 4: you were trying to do the right thing. And even
- 22:53Speaker 4: though my vote wouldn't count, I did contribute to your
- 22:56Speaker 4: running for election. And you're a brooklynman and everything you've
- 23:01Speaker 4: done be proud of. And I'm proud to know that
- 23:04Speaker 4: you're from a neighborhood I grew up there.
- 23:08Speaker 2: We'll let me tell you. Canarsi ail roads lead to
- 23:10Speaker 2: Kanarsie the good and I might add the bad. Give
- 23:15Speaker 2: me an idea Avenue L best Pizza Paula, the original
- 23:18Speaker 2: pizza of Avenue L still there. Cross Street is Channel twelve.
- 23:22Speaker 2: The news outlet used to be like a bull hack
- 23:25Speaker 2: a wall bomb supermarket no more. And got to tell
- 23:28Speaker 2: you they were the little Casey's on one side of
- 23:30Speaker 2: Avenue L. The Gambinos on the other side. They used
- 23:33Speaker 2: to have to run the gauntlet and the Avenue L
- 23:36Speaker 2: boys who were total degenerates. But I survived that. It
- 23:41Speaker 2: was like running through an Apache line from time to
- 23:45Speaker 2: time because I would not avoid going down Avenue L. Oh. Yeah,
- 23:52Speaker 2: Andrew evilized como. How many of them are out there?
- 23:56Speaker 2: And they keep You know, these bots, they're like like
- 24:00Speaker 2: the wave of drones. They get used in the war
- 24:03Speaker 2: between Russia and the Ukraine. Right, they come in pots, spots, spots,
- 24:09Speaker 2: and so you split the vote in the New York
- 24:12Speaker 2: Mayor's race to guarantee that more crime could happen, Right, Curtis,
- 24:18Speaker 2: you took money from Zorhan, you know, and you could
- 24:20Speaker 2: tell where they're being generated from countries all over the world,
- 24:23Speaker 2: and they come in and waves waves, And it all
- 24:26Speaker 2: started with Cuomo and their supporters of Cromo. By the way,
- 24:29Speaker 2: where is he? Oh yeah, he probably slit it under
- 24:32Speaker 2: his rock in the Hampton's hanging out with all of
- 24:35Speaker 2: his billionaire friends, the influencers, the insiders. They got him nowhere.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Maybe he should run for mayor of Southampton, since he
- 24:43Speaker 2: spent all of his time in Southampton. Let's go if
- 24:48Speaker 2: we can to ann who's calling from Staten Island? Your
- 24:52Speaker 2: turn to be heard here on seven ten wr ann, Well,
- 24:58Speaker 2: let's see.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I'm my sister, and Merry Christmas to you and your
- 25:03Speaker 3: sweet wife who we met. Well, they met at a
- 25:06Speaker 3: fundraiser at the Belvedere with a Feel and we gave
- 25:10Speaker 3: to your campaign. We miss you. Greg Kelly's unhinged. You
- 25:14Speaker 3: should sue the station the slander because you're excellent and
- 25:18Speaker 3: you should be the mayor. And we're heartbroken for you,
- 25:21Speaker 3: but you know what you do so much good. I
- 25:24Speaker 3: wish your good health and happiness and financy. I missed her.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Animal show ABC should go down the tubes and I
- 25:32Speaker 3: have been listening now a few months to Oh. I
- 25:35Speaker 3: used to listen to Handity too, and I'm back with them.
- 25:38Speaker 5: I enjoy them.
- 25:39Speaker 3: And Greg Kelly's a total disgrace. I think he's nuts.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Well, he is a little bots, a little titched, but
- 25:46Speaker 2: you know, he is doing what free speech allows you
- 25:51Speaker 2: to do in America. He has a right to do that.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Men have died in battle for us to have free
- 25:58Speaker 2: speech and also to be able to vote, which two million,
- 26:03Speaker 2: one hundred thousand people did in this last mayoral campaign,
- 26:08Speaker 2: a record that hadn't been seen since nineteen sixty five,
- 26:11Speaker 2: since I was all of eleven years old. And so
- 26:14Speaker 2: unfortunately John Lindsey get elected mayor of the City of
- 26:18Speaker 2: New York. By the way, I'm pretty sure don't we
- 26:22Speaker 2: have here w Or the dog Smart radio show? Don't
- 26:27Speaker 2: we have that? I think a w Or? I mean
- 26:30Speaker 2: used to be on the weekends here Wor you would
- 26:33Speaker 2: have all the shows that were talking about gardening, talking
- 26:38Speaker 2: about finance, investments, retirement animals. I mean, that was a
- 26:44Speaker 2: fixture that I would listen to. Bernie Meltzer. Oh yeah,
- 26:49Speaker 2: oh wow, what a following he had, Old Bernie. But no,
- 26:55Speaker 2: ant is right. Best thing they ever happened in my
- 26:57Speaker 2: life was when I met Nancy. We got married, and boy,
- 27:03Speaker 2: she is an animal rescuer. Like so many of the
- 27:07Speaker 2: listeners here, a wr are throughout the Tri State area
- 27:11Speaker 2: and throughout the country, and without her, I could not
- 27:16Speaker 2: have survived many many ordeals. I owe everything that I
- 27:20Speaker 2: am or I have at this point in my life
- 27:23Speaker 2: to my beautiful wife, Nancy, And they don't get any
- 27:26Speaker 2: better than that. You know, as Mahatma Gandhi said, is
- 27:28Speaker 2: society that takes care of its animals will take care
- 27:33Speaker 2: of its people. But a society that does not take
- 27:36Speaker 2: care of its animals will not take care of its people.
- 27:39Speaker 2: And that's exactly what we have in New York City.
- 27:42Speaker 2: As I began the show telling you about the year
- 27:46Speaker 2: anniversary of the horrible, horrific death of Dobrina Kawama at
- 27:50Speaker 2: the subway station in Coney Island on the F train
- 27:53Speaker 2: when she was set up into a human torch, and
- 27:57Speaker 2: how a year later they won't even say her name
- 28:01Speaker 2: because they don't even remember her name. Well, we did
- 28:04Speaker 2: that yesterday and I want to aploy wor Natalie in
- 28:08Speaker 2: the morning for introducing that in the news the New
- 28:11Speaker 2: York Posts for covering it, but many people out there
- 28:14Speaker 2: just have no idea what happened. Let's go to Sergio,
- 28:20Speaker 2: who's calling from New Jersey. Your turn to be heard
- 28:24Speaker 2: here at seven to ten WOA Sergio.
- 28:27Speaker 5: Hi, Curtis. I was wondering if you can elaborate on
- 28:31Speaker 5: Bob Grant one time. Apparently he took some tile expensive
- 28:35Speaker 5: towels on the studio and you had to go and
- 28:38Speaker 5: mediate for him to bring him back.
- 28:41Speaker 2: I'll let me correct you. The king of talk radio,
- 28:43Speaker 2: Bob Grant, who is my mentors the reason that I'm
- 28:46Speaker 2: in talk radio because when I was first on the
- 28:48Speaker 2: air at the old WABC, they didn't want to have
- 28:53Speaker 2: me on the air, and he said, you gotta have
- 28:55Speaker 2: Curtis on the air because he knows where all the
- 28:56Speaker 2: bones buried and who buried them. And he had the
- 29:01Speaker 2: force in the talk radio world at that time that
- 29:05Speaker 2: his wish basically became the command of the suits, the
- 29:08Speaker 2: big markers. But he was a kleptomaniac in many many ways,
- 29:12Speaker 2: no doubt about it. I think you're conflating two separate stories.
- 29:16Speaker 2: But let me tell you the best one that I
- 29:18Speaker 2: was personally involved in. He was given a loaner Cadillac
- 29:22Speaker 2: back then, in order to promote somebody purchasing a new
- 29:29Speaker 2: car used car, they have a new fangled expression now
- 29:33Speaker 2: pre owned car. You know, for used cars. They would
- 29:35Speaker 2: give you a loaner car. And Bob Grant, I think
- 29:38Speaker 2: it was in Englewood, was promoting Cadillacs from Englewood. Everybody
- 29:42Speaker 2: back then they wanted to the El Dorado, they wanted
- 29:45Speaker 2: the Fleetwood, the Seville. He had a car and his
- 29:49Speaker 2: driver would take him back and forth to Manalapan on
- 29:52Speaker 2: The Jersey Show where he was living, and you have
- 29:55Speaker 2: to give it back after a certain point of time.
- 29:57Speaker 2: And the program director of the Joe Manelli, was intimidated
- 30:00Speaker 2: by Bob, as he could intimidate many, and Bob wouldn't
- 30:05Speaker 2: give the Cadillac back. So John Minelli said, he's your friend.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Go in there and tell them there are new rules
- 30:12Speaker 2: in the business. You can't schnore like a lot of
- 30:16Speaker 2: radio people did, both AM and FM four years schnore
- 30:20Speaker 2: free stuff. It's called pay for play, and we could
- 30:24Speaker 2: get in trouble. So I said, I got it, John.
- 30:27Speaker 2: I went in there. It took me maybe an hour
- 30:29Speaker 2: and a half to convince the King of talk radio
- 30:31Speaker 2: Bob Grant, responsible for my career, to give me the
- 30:34Speaker 2: keys and that we would get it back to the
- 30:38Speaker 2: Cadillac dealership before they would report that to the FCC
- 30:42Speaker 2: to be in violation of pay for play. But man,
- 30:46Speaker 2: it was not easy. It's Bob Grant back then, the
- 30:50Speaker 2: king of talk radio. Thought. I'm entitled to the treasures
- 30:55Speaker 2: like so many others. And if you listen to me
- 30:57Speaker 2: up until January second, as I substitute for or Mark Simone,
- 31:01Speaker 2: You're gonna hear a lot of other stories you had
- 31:03Speaker 2: no idea about that I want to share with you
- 31:07Speaker 2: about this thing of ours, talk radio, because this is
- 31:12Speaker 2: the business that we have chosen.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Now more with New York's iconic straight shooter Curtis Leewah
- 31:21Speaker 1: guest hosting from Mark Simone on sevent ten.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Woo you know, yes it is. I was leaving the
- 31:30Speaker 2: studios here day number one of my substitution for Mark
- 31:33Speaker 2: Simon till January tewcond and oh, I got a lot
- 31:37Speaker 2: of other great stories to share with all of you,
- 31:40Speaker 2: and that's why you got to listen every day or
- 31:43Speaker 2: get it on the podcast. But I heard the voice
- 31:46Speaker 2: of Brett Winterble, who's substituting up next for the boys.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I said, that's Bretton Winterble, that's Boy Limbaugh. He used
- 31:54Speaker 2: to be the phone screener for the Great Rush Limbaugh.
- 31:58Speaker 2: We used to share facilities at the old WABC seventeen
- 32:03Speaker 2: to Flour High above Madison Square Garden. And Brett was great,
- 32:08Speaker 2: always wanted to be in talk radio. And he used
- 32:12Speaker 2: to live in Morris Park in the Bronx. Take the
- 32:15Speaker 2: two of the five chain up there, say really Bretton, Yeah, yeah,
- 32:19Speaker 2: live up here. Family up there, extended family. And he's
- 32:23Speaker 2: gone on to become a great talk show host in Charlotte,
- 32:26Speaker 2: where they had like two attacks on their light rail system.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Two not one the one you knew about the Ukrainian
- 32:32Speaker 2: immigrant woman, no no, no, no two another recent one. I
- 32:36Speaker 2: think it was an illegal alien. And he's urged me
- 32:39Speaker 2: to bring the Guardian Angels down to Charlotte, which I
- 32:41Speaker 2: think I'm gonna have to do it. All the Yankees
- 32:44Speaker 2: who were fleeing down there. Everybody from up north in
- 32:46Speaker 2: our area was moving down to that area. Unfortunately, the
- 32:49Speaker 2: crime is skyrocketing. But he's a great town and there's
- 32:54Speaker 2: been a lot of young upcoming talk radio show hosts
- 32:57Speaker 2: and hostesses who've unfortunately not had that opportunity. But I
- 33:03Speaker 2: think you're going to enjoy bread. And there's another guy
- 33:07Speaker 2: out there, the liberty loving Latino Rich Valdez, who actually
- 33:12Speaker 2: was the only one to listen to me for four
- 33:14Speaker 2: years that I wasted in my life over at AM
- 33:16Speaker 2: ninety seventy. The answer when I think Rich Valdez was
- 33:19Speaker 2: the only one who listened to me. I did morning
- 33:20Speaker 2: drive and afternoon Drive and now substituting at WOOR where
- 33:27Speaker 2: my radio life began back when Arlene Francis, the midday hostess,
- 33:34Speaker 2: interviewed me as the newspaper Boy of the Year in
- 33:37Speaker 2: nineteen seventy one. I've had the bug ever since. And boy,
- 33:41Speaker 2: I hope you'll be listening tomorrow or Christmas Eve extravaganza
- 33:46Speaker 2: coming up, and stay with me until January second, because
- 33:50Speaker 2: I got a lot of radio talk radio gifts to
- 33:55Speaker 2: leave for all of you under the Christmas tree.
