Milwaukee’s beer legacy lives on thanks to a heroic archival rescue: when Schlitz was sold in 1982, the Stroh family stepped in to save its entire historical record—ledgers, photos, Prohibition-era chocolate recipes, Chicago saloon logs, and even the story of the Schlitz Globe ship.
