- 0:00Speaker 1: For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as
- 0:03Speaker 1: unto them. But the word preached did not profit them,
- 0:06Speaker 1: because their faith did not feed on the word. The
- 0:10Speaker 1: word of God is the life support of our faith.
- 0:13Speaker 1: We live by the word of God. Blessed be God
- 0:22Speaker 1: and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Peter chapter
- 0:26Speaker 1: 3 verse 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your
- 0:31Speaker 1: hearts and be ready always to give an answer to
- 0:35Speaker 1: every man that accepts you a reason, a reason of
- 0:40Speaker 1: the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Welcome to Faith Feed episode 205, a reason of the hope,
- 0:51Speaker 1: reason of the hope. Take a look at your environment.
- 0:55Speaker 1: People don't want to find out the reason for anything.
- 0:57Speaker 1: But they have mental assent about everything in God. What
- 1:00Speaker 1: is the reason for the hope that is in you?
- 1:02Speaker 1: What's the answer? What's the explanation you will give to people?
- 1:06Speaker 1: This is where motivation differs from revelation. We have so
- 1:11Speaker 1: much motivation in the world today and little revelation. Note,
- 1:15Speaker 1: motivation is not what changes the culture. The culture we
- 1:18Speaker 1: are trying to change as believers in society. It is
- 1:20Speaker 1: not motivation that changes. It is revelation. Revelation knowledge of
- 1:23Speaker 1: the truth that changes the culture of the society. People
- 1:27Speaker 1: will never accept the truth no matter how motivated they
- 1:30Speaker 1: are until revelation, reason of the hope is given to them. See,
- 1:35Speaker 1: the first sign of error is that there is no
- 1:37Speaker 1: reason for the hope. There is no reason for hope.
- 1:39Speaker 1: You can suffer for righteousness sake without reason and there
- 1:42Speaker 1: is no reason for hope. you have to lay hold
- 1:46Speaker 1: the reason for hope is found the bible said sanctified
- 1:49Speaker 1: let's read it the verse before the reason of hope
- 1:51Speaker 1: verse 14 says if you suffer for righteousness sake happy
- 1:54Speaker 1: are ye be not afraid of their terror neither be
- 1:57Speaker 1: troubled now listen that's it but but sanctified now there
- 2:00Speaker 1: is an instruction in righteousness here it is but sanctified
- 2:03Speaker 1: that means If you are suffering for righteousness sake and
- 2:06Speaker 1: you are not doing this part of making your heart,
- 2:09Speaker 1: positioning your heart aright with God. But sanctify the Lord
- 2:12Speaker 1: God in your hearts. In your hearts. In your hearts.
- 2:16Speaker 1: So that you will now be ready to give what?
- 2:18Speaker 1: An answer to every man that asks you the reason
- 2:20Speaker 1: for the hope that is in you. So you see
- 2:22Speaker 1: the balance now. So the reason why people cannot is
- 2:25Speaker 1: because they don't sanctify the Lord in their hearts. That's
- 2:28Speaker 1: why Jesus said there were three temptations that came to Jesus.
- 2:31Speaker 1: The first was the fact that had to do with what?
- 2:35Speaker 1: The matters of living. Guard your heart with all diligence,
- 2:38Speaker 1: for out of it proceeds what? The issues of life.
- 2:41Speaker 1: That's it. The living. Life is full of challenges. Let's
- 2:45Speaker 1: be honest. But you guard it. Now, Jesus said, When
- 2:48Speaker 1: the devil came to tempt Jesus, what did he say?
- 2:50Speaker 1: Cast this stone to bread. The first response of Jesus was,
- 2:53Speaker 1: Man shall not live by bread alone. So, the significance
- 2:59Speaker 1: of bread is not just for the survival of the flesh.
- 3:03Speaker 1: There is a bread for the survival of the spirit man.
- 3:06Speaker 1: The Bible says for the soul to be without knowledge,
- 3:09Speaker 1: it is not good. Because when the result of a
- 3:14Speaker 1: soul that is not knowledgeable is that that man is
- 3:17Speaker 1: hasty with his feet. So he said, This is the
- 3:19Speaker 1: first tool that you need in order to be able
- 3:21Speaker 1: to sanctify the Lord in your heart. 1 Peter 1 verse.
- 3:25Speaker 2: 22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying, that's
- 3:42Speaker 2: obedience to the truth, through.
- 3:44Speaker 1: The Spirit, through the power of the Spirit, unto what?
- 3:48Speaker 1: A commodity called love. For the brethren, that's towards the brethren.
- 3:53Speaker 1: He now says, see that we love, that we exercise
- 3:57Speaker 1: in that what? in that purification we love one another
- 4:00Speaker 1: with a pure heart fervently pure heart pure heart that
- 4:05Speaker 1: is a sanctified heart follow me now we know that
- 4:09Speaker 1: we live by the word of God the first instruction
- 4:12Speaker 1: in order to sanctify our heart is that we obey
- 4:15Speaker 1: the truth in God's word through the power of the
- 4:18Speaker 1: spirit that we are strengthened with mind by the spirit
- 4:20Speaker 1: in our inner man by the power of the spirit
- 4:23Speaker 1: we are able to obey the truth That truth is
- 4:29Speaker 1: what empowers our conscience to be clear. Remember when Paul
- 4:33Speaker 1: talks about having my conscience clear? Your conscience is in
- 4:37Speaker 1: similitude with your consciousness. Whatever you are conscious about, your
- 4:43Speaker 1: conscience can testify to it. And the testimony of your conscience,
- 4:47Speaker 1: according to Romans 8, we understand that it is the
- 4:50Speaker 1: voice of your spirit. Your spirit bearing witness with the
- 4:54Speaker 1: Holy Spirit. It is the voice of your spirit. I'm
- 4:57Speaker 1: saying this because the next temptation that the devil brought
- 4:59Speaker 1: to Jesus had to do with spiritual understanding. So the
- 5:03Speaker 1: devil said... He shall give his, cast yourself down. He
- 5:05Speaker 1: will give his angels charge over you. This is him
- 5:08Speaker 1: quoting what? A part of Psalm 91. But then Jesus
- 5:11Speaker 1: understood that he wasn't quoting it according to the revelation,
- 5:16Speaker 1: not just motivation. Remember now, the devil brought, cast yourself
- 5:19Speaker 1: and he will give his angels charge. That's motivation. But
- 5:22Speaker 1: Jesus brought in the angle and the importance of revelation.
- 5:26Speaker 1: He says, What was Jesus trying to emphasize by bringing
- 5:31Speaker 1: the matter of temptation to God? He was trying to
- 5:34Speaker 1: say that most times when we continue in sin, that
- 5:37Speaker 1: grace abounds, we are tempting God. So rightly dividing the
- 5:42Speaker 1: word of truth is needed at this point in order
- 5:45Speaker 1: to sanctify your heart.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Yes. Stay with me. Like I said, inasmuch as you
- 5:51Speaker 1: have obeyed the truth of the word of God, you
- 5:54Speaker 1: have to now rightly divide the truth of God's word.
- 5:59Speaker 1: That means understanding the when, the where, and the how
- 6:04Speaker 1: application of that truth of God's word. When it comes
- 6:08Speaker 1: to the how, the Bible says that the labor of
- 6:10Speaker 1: the foolish wearied everyone. Now understand, mark the word labor. Labor. Labor.
- 6:15Speaker 1: It wearies. Why? Because they know not how to enter
- 6:18Speaker 1: into the city. So labor is not just the answer
- 6:22Speaker 1: to entering or conquering the city or taking over it theoretically.
- 6:25Speaker 1: That's why the Bible says in Psalm 127, what? Unless
- 6:28Speaker 1: the Lord builds the house, they labor, labor, labor in
- 6:32Speaker 1: vain that buildeth it. That means there is an emphasis
- 6:35Speaker 1: placed on setting God over the affairs that governs. That's
- 6:41Speaker 1: why acknowledge him and he will direct you in all
- 6:44Speaker 1: your paths. Number two, the where. The where is talking
- 6:47Speaker 1: about the place of your primary assignment. The Bible said
- 6:52Speaker 1: that the men of Issachar had understanding of the times
- 6:55Speaker 1: and seasons to know what Israel does, to know what
- 6:57Speaker 1: to do. Primary assignment. The third one is the when.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Jesus came to the temple and drove them out and
- 7:05Speaker 1: said what they know not their time, the time of
- 7:09Speaker 1: what their visitation. His emphasis there was that there is
- 7:13Speaker 1: a time. That what has been allocated for the visitation
- 7:17Speaker 1: of every city, every territory, and every individual. Yes. The
- 7:21Speaker 1: solution to this where and when is found in the beginning.
- 7:24Speaker 1: The how. Where you have to acknowledge. You have to seek.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Put God first. You will not labor in vain. Now,
- 7:30Speaker 1: the third temptation. The devil took him to an exceeding
- 7:33Speaker 1: high mountain and showed him the kingdoms of the world.
- 7:35Speaker 1: The powers, dominions, territories. I will give it to you.
- 7:38Speaker 1: But bow down to me. Observe. What did Jesus say?
- 7:41Speaker 1: Thou shalt walk. Listen. Understand. The devil was willing to trade,
- 7:46Speaker 1: you know, power for worship. Follow this. He's just a copier.
- 7:50Speaker 1: This means that when we worship God, remember it's with
- 7:53Speaker 1: our heart. Jesus said that a time is coming when
- 7:55Speaker 1: true worshippers shall worship God, but in spirit and in truth.
- 7:59Speaker 1: That's talking about heart matters. That's people who have sanctified
- 8:02Speaker 1: the Lord in their heart. So how did Jesus respond?
- 8:05Speaker 1: He said that thou shalt worship only the Lord thy God,
- 8:08Speaker 1: and only him shall thou serve. The emphasis of worship
- 8:13Speaker 1: is the encryption of power. So even as you have
- 8:17Speaker 1: rightly divided the word of truth, you have wisdom. You
- 8:20Speaker 1: must be humble. Find the place of, you must kill pride. Leviathan.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Listen to my episode, The Pride of Life, where I
- 8:29Speaker 1: dealt with Leviathan. You must learn to deal with that
- 8:33Speaker 1: when it comes to your affairs. That's the matter of
- 8:35Speaker 1: the heart. Pride is a matter of Leviathan targets the
- 8:38Speaker 1: heart of a man in order for him not to
- 8:40Speaker 1: be sanctified. But once you are able to, once these
- 8:44Speaker 1: processes are what plays to the strengthening of the reason
- 8:48Speaker 1: of the hope that you have in you. Ephesians chapter
- 8:51Speaker 1: 1 verse 17. At the eyes of your understanding be
- 8:53Speaker 1: enlightened that you will know what is the hope of
- 8:56Speaker 1: his calling. There is a hope that you must find
- 8:59Speaker 1: oh and each man's hope differs oh. My hope differs
- 9:02Speaker 1: from your hope. You must find your hope. Your hope
- 9:05Speaker 1: is that thing that cannot be stolen from you. You
- 9:08Speaker 1: may not have faith, but your hope is constant. It's
- 9:12Speaker 1: a constant factor. It's a constant denominator. It's a constant
- 9:16Speaker 1: program for your life. The Bible said, be ready to
- 9:19Speaker 1: give reason and answer for the reason of the hope
- 9:21Speaker 1: that is in you. With what? meekness. Remember when we
- 9:24Speaker 1: talked about that, the last thing we talked about, meekness
- 9:26Speaker 1: and fear. I remain the faith campaigner of Christ. Remember,
- 9:29Speaker 1: be God-fident. Be God-fident. The Lord commands the angels of
- 9:33Speaker 1: your waters to be stirred. The Lord lift up the
- 9:35Speaker 1: light of his countenance upon you. Blessed be God and
- 9:39Speaker 1: Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Brought to you by
- 10:09Speaker 1: the Faith Campaigner of Christ. Keeping the faith of Christ
- 10:12Speaker 1: in the community of believers, global.
