- 0:10Speaker 2: tackler gets inside the forty down of the thirty five yard.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Line powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Matt pumpfake's looking at the gold line. He throws it
- 0:17Speaker 2: into the en zone. Touchdown, Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas
- 0:21Speaker 2: with a diving catching the end zone. A ten yard
- 0:24Speaker 2: touchdown reception for Bumpers, and the kid out of Washington
- 0:28Speaker 2: State has found himself a.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Place on this team. Now, here's your host, Nasa Choviie.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Welcome back, Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk. The
- 0:37Speaker 3: Seahawks on top beating the San Francisco forty nine Ers
- 0:40Speaker 3: twenty to seventeen in a battle down in the Bay,
- 0:44Speaker 3: Broadcasting Life from the Seahawks podcast studio, presented by Sony,
- 0:47Speaker 3: the official partner of the Seattle Seahawks.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Bump All is right in the world again.
- 0:51Speaker 3: The Seahawks on top, breaking the sixty game losing streak,
- 0:54Speaker 3: taking down the.
- 0:55Speaker 5: Forty nine ers in they house in the kitchen made
- 0:58Speaker 5: a sandwich doesn't go, that's a fridge and got up
- 1:01Speaker 5: out of there. That's how you do it, man, big As,
- 1:02Speaker 5: I was a man. That was a big game. If
- 1:05Speaker 5: you don't win this game, the season looks a bit different.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:08Speaker 5: I know they've lost a lot of games up to
- 1:09Speaker 5: this point, which is still in it. The vision is
- 1:11Speaker 5: still locked up Cardinals at the top, but you are
- 1:13Speaker 5: back in the mix.
- 1:14Speaker 6: Let's go.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Well.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Not to mention it was a crazy week at vMac.
- 1:17Speaker 3: It wasn't like it was a chill thing going into it. Yes,
- 1:19Speaker 3: there was a bye week, but the Seahawks moved on
- 1:21Speaker 3: from Tyrell Dotson starting center, Cornor Williams retired, Abe Lucas
- 1:25Speaker 3: made his return. So they are all these question marks.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Everything around came back. A lot going on, but the
- 1:33Speaker 3: Seahawks got it dying coming into this game. I mentioned
- 1:35Speaker 3: the Seahawks has lost six consecutive games with the forty
- 1:37Speaker 3: nine ers, and in those games, the Seahawks got behind
- 1:39Speaker 3: early and often halftime. Of those games, the Seahawks trailed
- 1:42Speaker 3: by a combined score one to four to thirty six.
- 1:46Speaker 3: The Hawks only led one time in that stretch at
- 1:49Speaker 3: halftime that was a twenty twenty two wildcard game and
- 1:51Speaker 3: trailed by double digits in four of those six games,
- 1:55Speaker 3: but the tide finally changed on Sunday.
- 1:58Speaker 4: What had happened, what happened at first run?
- 2:02Speaker 6: What happened was what had happened.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Was on Hawk Talk.
- 2:06Speaker 3: But it started as good as it could be for
- 2:07Speaker 3: the Seahawks get a three now in the first possession defensively,
- 2:10Speaker 3: and then the offense followed that up with a nine
- 2:12Speaker 3: play forty four yard drive ending win the fifty two
- 2:15Speaker 3: yard field goal from Jason Myers, making the score three zero,
- 2:18Speaker 3: taking their first lead.
- 2:19Speaker 6: Easy.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Fifty two man, he just says me, Myers, man, looking
- 2:22Speaker 5: like that Pro Bowl that we know. The forty nine
- 2:25Speaker 5: ers responded with a great drive of their own. They
- 2:27Speaker 5: go twelve plays seventy one yards, ending with a ten
- 2:29Speaker 5: yard touchdown scramble from Brock Party, making the score seven
- 2:33Speaker 5: to three San Francisco. The Hawks will punt on the
- 2:35Speaker 5: next drive, but their defense will come up big two
- 2:38Speaker 5: plays later with a Devin Witherspoon deflection going to Christian
- 2:42Speaker 5: McCaffrey and the big man, Jonathan Hankins gets up hands
- 2:46Speaker 5: catch and he ain't try to run. He went straight
- 2:47Speaker 5: down to the ground and goes, I don't do this,
- 2:49Speaker 5: but I do this.
- 2:51Speaker 3: I love to see his version. He got up, they
- 2:52Speaker 3: got up there. Love to see the big man interception
- 2:55Speaker 3: doing his thing. Jonathan Hankins. The Seahawk couldn't really take
- 2:58Speaker 3: advantage of the great field position. They would go have
- 3:00Speaker 3: to settle for another Jason Myers field goal seven to six.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I believe that was a fifty seven yarder. Talking about
- 3:05Speaker 3: Jason Myers, ease money, easy money. Shout out to Jason
- 3:08Speaker 3: Myers because people don't give kickers enough credit. I know
- 3:11Speaker 3: Brian Walter said this and some people feel sertched up
- 3:13Speaker 3: away about it. But Jami giving you your shout out,
- 3:15Speaker 3: doing your thing. The Hawks defense would come up big
- 3:18Speaker 3: the following drive, for seing another forty nine Ers punt
- 3:20Speaker 3: after an eleven play drive. The Hawks would punt on
- 3:22Speaker 3: their last drive of the first half, and the Niners
- 3:24Speaker 3: would take the one point lead into half.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Yeah, you're feeling good, because what was the goal? Just
- 3:29Speaker 5: keep it close at halftime. Keep it close at halftime
- 3:32Speaker 5: and you're gonna have a chance. You opening drive of
- 3:34Speaker 5: the second half started with disaster on third and eight
- 3:37Speaker 5: from the Hawks seventeen yard line. Gino was intercepted by
- 3:40Speaker 5: Isaac Jittam. He was rolling to his left side. I
- 3:43Speaker 5: believe he was looking towards There was Jason over there.
- 3:46Speaker 5: There was I think aj Barner on the inside in
- 3:49Speaker 5: DK over the top. I think he got caught in.
- 3:51Speaker 5: Like where am I going with this football? Jason was
- 3:53Speaker 5: working back at sealed over his head, dB over there,
- 3:56Speaker 5: cop that thing and you start to stress out a
- 3:59Speaker 5: little because we've seen this before. But thankfully, the Seahawks
- 4:03Speaker 5: defense got a huge stop, holding the forty nine ers
- 4:05Speaker 5: to a field goal, making the score ten to six.
- 4:08Speaker 6: Defense stepped up.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Man, This is without question, and we'll talk about this more.
- 4:12Speaker 3: The story of the game and the day holy for
- 4:14Speaker 3: me was the defense. Yep, going against that team who
- 4:17Speaker 3: had had your number six consecutive times, with the weapons
- 4:20Speaker 3: they have, I don't care if Kitto wasn't in the
- 4:21Speaker 3: You don't care.
- 4:22Speaker 4: I don't care if I U because on I are.
- 4:24Speaker 4: They got all pro dudes everywhere.
- 4:27Speaker 6: The Lions didn't care, but we had six starters out.
- 4:29Speaker 6: No watch, we care about the Niners and the air problem.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you. They're still good football team. The
- 4:34Speaker 3: defense balled out after that. The Seahawks will respond with
- 4:37Speaker 3: a great drive, going eleven plays seventy yards, ending with
- 4:39Speaker 3: a Ken Walker touchdown that was set up by a
- 4:42Speaker 3: big third down conversion.
- 4:44Speaker 4: On third and twelve.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Gino Smith found dk metcalf and then Walker's touchdown made
- 4:48Speaker 3: the score thirteen to ten.
- 4:49Speaker 6: Seattle.
- 4:50Speaker 5: I was on trolling the Niners today, okay, and now
- 4:55Speaker 5: really just watching, just watching the chaos go down, and
- 4:57Speaker 5: they're complaining about that catch he was out about. Listen,
- 5:00Speaker 5: he got two in Okay, playing his day. You can
- 5:02Speaker 5: complain about the JSN catcher whatever, but that one not.
- 5:05Speaker 6: I was good to go. But the Niners will respond
- 5:08Speaker 6: in a big way.
- 5:09Speaker 5: Brock Prady would find Dwan Jennings, who had himself a
- 5:11Speaker 5: good day, for a three yard touchdown after fourteen play
- 5:13Speaker 5: seventy yard drive.
- 5:14Speaker 6: That play design was nasty too.
- 5:16Speaker 5: It was on that drive the forty nine ers were
- 5:18Speaker 5: able to convert three third downs, including two separate third
- 5:21Speaker 5: and elevens. We ended up not liking that number third eleven.
- 5:24Speaker 5: We saw it a lot like three times. I think
- 5:26Speaker 5: they converted two of them. That made the score seventeen
- 5:29Speaker 5: and thirteen. San Francisco. The Hawks will try to respond,
- 5:32Speaker 5: but once again came up short. I'm in short yard situation.
- 5:34Speaker 5: On third and one from the niners forty seven yard line,
- 5:38Speaker 5: Gino was stopped on the QB sneak. He wasn't stopped.
- 5:40Speaker 5: That was a first down. That was a first down.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Very next play, Zach Charbonney, he gets stopped. That was questionable.
- 5:47Speaker 5: We could argue that one. But both of those I
- 5:50Speaker 5: felt like they got them both times. I think Gino
- 5:53Speaker 5: was for sure. The Sharbonne one, okay, we can argue
- 5:55Speaker 5: that would have been.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Yeah, that was tough because when you look at the
- 5:58Speaker 3: spot where the balls initially spotted, it was clear as
- 6:01Speaker 3: at he had the first down.
- 6:02Speaker 4: The other official came in and moved it backyard.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I don't love how quickly that process happened, because they know,
- 6:08Speaker 3: they tell the Seahaws will has already been reviewed. I
- 6:10Speaker 3: just don't know how you can review and confirm in
- 6:12Speaker 3: that short of time without even bringing the stix out
- 6:14Speaker 3: for measurement.
- 6:15Speaker 4: But hey, that's not in my lane. I'll stay in
- 6:17Speaker 4: my lane. It is what it is.
- 6:19Speaker 3: And then the defense you talked about it earlier about
- 6:21Speaker 3: they stepped up once again, and honestly, I don't want
- 6:24Speaker 3: to say save the season, but save where the Seahawks
- 6:26Speaker 3: were going.
- 6:27Speaker 4: I mean, usually when something bad like that.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Happens again, right all the momentums out of the gate,
- 6:33Speaker 3: and I think McCaffrey had like a nine or eight
- 6:35Speaker 3: yard gain on the very next play following.
- 6:36Speaker 4: That defense shook it off. They call that sun change.
- 6:39Speaker 3: They got another huge stop, setting the stage for Gino Smith.
- 6:44Speaker 6: Gino, goodness, gracious, Gino, we appreciate you.
- 6:47Speaker 5: He took the Seahawks down the field thanks to a
- 6:49Speaker 5: big reception from dk Metcalp two big time third down
- 6:53Speaker 5: conversions to Jsim and then Gino did the rest with
- 6:55Speaker 5: his legs, had a sixteen yard scramble. My man was
- 6:58Speaker 5: like he was jogging like he was so calm and composed.
- 7:01Speaker 5: I'm like, Gino, what are you doing? Are you gonna
- 7:03Speaker 5: get down? He gets down at the final moment and
- 7:05Speaker 5: then had a thirteen yard touchdown capping off eleven play
- 7:09Speaker 5: eighty yard drive made the score twenty to seventeen, twelve
- 7:12Speaker 5: seconds left on the clock, and he gave him the
- 7:14Speaker 5: go to sleep, not big ups to a Curry in
- 7:16Speaker 5: the base Steph Curry and that plays for the Wars.
- 7:18Speaker 5: So it was good man twelve seconds left and it
- 7:22Speaker 5: was a weird play at the end.
- 7:23Speaker 6: How this game ended with d Hall?
- 7:25Speaker 3: Yeah, well what is it when you if you watch,
- 7:27Speaker 3: if you're a fan of ESPN and Scott vanpel he
- 7:29Speaker 3: calls it like PITCHINGPG woo woo whatever.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Yeah, in the game. So that was pretty much what
- 7:34Speaker 4: that was. But the Seahawks defense all over it.
- 7:36Speaker 3: In the play before, I think they tried to connect
- 7:38Speaker 3: with Deebo Samuel and Devin Witherspoon, who we're gonna talk
- 7:41Speaker 3: about put him in the ground. Ended that thing and
- 7:43Speaker 3: Derek Hall comes down with the football. The Seahawks get
- 7:46Speaker 3: the win on the losing streak in Santa Clara. And
- 7:50Speaker 3: here's the crazy thing you want to talk about the
- 7:51Speaker 3: defensive two games after giving up four hundred and eighty
- 7:54Speaker 3: three total yards two hundred and twenty yards in the
- 7:56Speaker 3: first matchup against forty nine Ers, the Seahawks huge improvement
- 8:00Speaker 3: the Niners to just two hundred and seventy seven yards
- 8:02Speaker 3: and one hundred and thirty one yards rushing. The Seahawks
- 8:04Speaker 3: were also only penalized four times on the day bump
- 8:08Speaker 3: and they weren't penalized on the offensive line.
- 8:11Speaker 6: No, they they what at four four to the Niners.
- 8:14Speaker 5: I think ten or eleven, and I think that was
- 8:17Speaker 5: something that the Niners were crying about. I go, listen, man,
- 8:20Speaker 5: this is an NFL season. Things aren't always gonna go
- 8:23Speaker 5: your way. Guys are gonna be banged. U. We've experienced that,
- 8:26Speaker 5: Oh you're gonna be call for a bunch of penodies.
- 8:28Speaker 5: We've experienced that, you're gonna be up, You're gonna lose.
- 8:30Speaker 5: We've experienced that. So it feels good. I didn't even
- 8:32Speaker 5: go to watch Niner Twitter and all that stuff to engage,
- 8:36Speaker 5: but just to watch the houses burn up, you know,
- 8:38Speaker 5: like look at those guys over there.
- 8:40Speaker 4: It feels good because it's back to what it used
- 8:42Speaker 4: to be.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Seahawks were sixteen and four or seventeen and four something
- 8:46Speaker 3: like that in the previous like nine years, so then
- 8:48Speaker 3: you had the sixteen moving streak. So it's great to
- 8:50Speaker 3: see the Seahawks back where we expect them to be. Huge win,
- 8:53Speaker 3: huge win against the forty nine ers on Sunday, there
- 8:56Speaker 3: was lots of playmakers touching.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Playmakers told him what time it is?
- 9:06Speaker 3: Holy, We're gonna start off with the quarterback. Gene no Smith.
- 9:11Speaker 3: We talked about him. He was twenty five to thirty
- 9:13Speaker 3: two two hundred and twenty one yards, went an interception,
- 9:16Speaker 3: but had four carries for twenty nine yards in the
- 9:18Speaker 3: game winning touchdown. This was Gino's tenth game winning drive
- 9:21Speaker 3: since twenty twenty two. Waited for this could confirm it
- 9:24Speaker 3: last night, but now that is tied for second most
- 9:27Speaker 3: in the NFL.
- 9:27Speaker 4: He was third. He has ten.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I believe a couple of people have ten, So he's
- 9:31Speaker 3: right there second now in the NFL game winning drives,
- 9:33Speaker 3: which just shows you the clutch nature of Gino Smith.
- 9:36Speaker 3: He also passed Rick Meyer for fifth place on Seattle's
- 9:38Speaker 3: all time passing attempts list one thousand, five and twenty four. Now,
- 9:42Speaker 3: this one was so sweet to me, Bump, because Gino
- 9:45Speaker 3: takes a lot of bullets, He should a lot of arrows.
- 9:48Speaker 3: His dealt with so many different things, and for him
- 9:50Speaker 3: to engineer that drive and for him to be the
- 9:52Speaker 3: one to take it on his own. He had a
- 9:54Speaker 3: big sixty yard scramble before that, and it gets a
- 9:56Speaker 3: thirteen yeard touchdown to seal the deal.
- 9:58Speaker 4: And just the.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Emotion he felt when he threw the ball into the stands,
- 10:01Speaker 3: like I just I love to see it because Gino
- 10:03Speaker 3: has been through a lot and he's a good quarterback.
- 10:05Speaker 4: He got to prove it again.
- 10:07Speaker 5: The quiet was loud after he scored that touchdown. You know,
- 10:10Speaker 5: I'm looking in the crowd. I went back and slow
- 10:12Speaker 5: mowed several times to look at all the faces in
- 10:14Speaker 5: the crowd and Geno to celebrate him. Happy for that guy.
- 10:17Speaker 5: He does more than what people really understand and appreciate.
- 10:21Speaker 5: So big up Geno. Next up JS and Man ten receptions,
- 10:25Speaker 5: one hundred and ten yards, first time in his career
- 10:27Speaker 5: he had back to back one hundred yard games.
- 10:29Speaker 6: His third one hundred yard game of the season.
- 10:30Speaker 5: I believe he's up to six hundred and seventy something
- 10:33Speaker 5: yards three touchdowns this year. Low Key is on pace
- 10:36Speaker 5: to having a thousand yard season. And there was a
- 10:39Speaker 5: time during this year where people were questioning could he
- 10:42Speaker 5: be the number two? Could he be the robin to
- 10:44Speaker 5: DK's batman or vice versa, And I think the past
- 10:46Speaker 5: two weeks he's proven that. My thing is I wanted
- 10:49Speaker 5: to see him do that with DK in the lineup
- 10:51Speaker 5: r and he did exactly that. DK still had a
- 10:53Speaker 5: good game, two seven catches for seventy yards, but it
- 10:56Speaker 5: was nice to see Jason shine on those third downs
- 10:58Speaker 5: two and what I'm seeing that is he is beginning
- 11:01Speaker 5: getting more comfortable just moving guys.
- 11:03Speaker 6: I think he's understanding what he's looking at.
- 11:05Speaker 5: There was a third down early in the game where
- 11:08Speaker 5: the flat defender is going to the right.
- 11:10Speaker 6: He could have just hitched up.
- 11:11Speaker 5: It was a nice little spot right, he could have
- 11:13Speaker 5: just hitched up, but he leans and takes him there like, look,
- 11:15Speaker 5: you're going that way, I'm gonna take you that way.
- 11:17Speaker 5: Then I'm going to hitch up. The little things in
- 11:19Speaker 5: his route running is coming to life now. It's you
- 11:22Speaker 5: love to see it.
- 11:22Speaker 3: We've talked about Jayson a Ton this year and we've
- 11:24Speaker 3: known he's got the skills. There's a reason why he
- 11:26Speaker 3: was drafted where he's drafted. So it's cool to see
- 11:28Speaker 3: this whole offensive elope whether it's DK, whether it's Jasen
- 11:31Speaker 3: with Ryan Grubb and everyone working together doing some good things.
- 11:34Speaker 3: There reminder of broadcasting live from the Seahawks Podcast Studio
- 11:37Speaker 3: presented by Sony, the official partner.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Of the Seattle Seahawks.
- 11:41Speaker 3: In this NFL season, Bump feel every play, every hit,
- 11:45Speaker 3: every moment with the Sony one thousand XM five noise
- 11:47Speaker 3: canceling headphones.
- 11:48Speaker 4: The official headphones of the Seattle Seahawks.
- 11:50Speaker 3: With premium noise cancelation, You're in the zone, no distractions,
- 11:54Speaker 3: just pure football, whether in your living room or on
- 11:56Speaker 3: the go, You'll never miss a beat with Sony headphones,
- 12:00Speaker 3: talking playmakers, bump, let's keep it there on flip the
- 12:02Speaker 3: defensive side of the ball. Ernest Jones, Ernest Jones did
- 12:05Speaker 3: think I heard you say on your show earlier today,
- 12:07Speaker 3: Pay the man, Pay.
- 12:08Speaker 5: The man right now. He don't let him be back today.
- 12:11Speaker 5: What I'll signing him.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Ernest Jones is a baller man.
- 12:14Speaker 3: You can you see exactly why John Snyder in this
- 12:17Speaker 3: personnel SAP had him in here because he fits. Mike
- 12:19Speaker 3: was McDonald's defense and the way he plays the game.
- 12:22Speaker 3: It's violent, it's aggressive, there's no there's no hesitation, there's
- 12:26Speaker 3: no gun underneath box, none of that. He had thirteen tackles,
- 12:29Speaker 3: six solo, led the team in tackles, and just a
- 12:31Speaker 3: physical nature. He is just a presence on the field.
- 12:34Speaker 3: He's got that green dot now and the communications on point.
- 12:37Speaker 3: So now that he's had almost it'll be a month,
- 12:40Speaker 3: I believe next week in a Seahawk uniform practicing here
- 12:43Speaker 3: he's playing. He's an all pro, all pro caliber pro
- 12:47Speaker 3: bow type player. Yep, you watch him play. I love
- 12:49Speaker 3: team what Ernest is doing.
- 12:50Speaker 5: I like when they zoom up on him before the
- 12:52Speaker 5: snap and the intensity in his eyes. My man is like,
- 12:54Speaker 5: I'm locked in, I'm ready to go. And I would
- 12:56Speaker 5: assume that having the green dot, he has to communicate
- 12:58Speaker 5: with everybody. He's becoming a leader on this defense. He
- 13:01Speaker 5: has to be a leader on this defense. So the
- 13:04Speaker 5: more deposits he makes with thirteen tackles, the more yes,
- 13:08Speaker 5: he is going to lead this ball club. Tyree's Knight
- 13:11Speaker 5: happy for this young man. First time in a while,
- 13:13Speaker 5: nast I looked at the box score and two linebackers
- 13:15Speaker 5: led the charge in tackles. Knight was the other guy.
- 13:18Speaker 5: Ten tackles, one quarterback hit. He didn't seem overwhelmed. There
- 13:22Speaker 5: were times where I felt like, oh, he got beat
- 13:23Speaker 5: on that play. Everybody gets beat, especially playing against Niners,
- 13:26Speaker 5: a good football team.
- 13:27Speaker 6: But at no point did he seem overwhelmed.
- 13:29Speaker 5: I never looked at him and just scratched my head
- 13:32Speaker 5: and thought to myself, what are you doing?
- 13:34Speaker 6: Every time I looked at him, He's in the right position.
- 13:36Speaker 6: Did he make every play?
- 13:36Speaker 5: No, but he made the second most play most plays
- 13:39Speaker 5: on defense when it comes to tackles.
- 13:41Speaker 6: Tyres Knight had himself a good day.
- 13:42Speaker 3: We heard from Ad the defensive coordinator for the Seahawks,
- 13:46Speaker 3: and he talked about the maturation and the growth Knights
- 13:49Speaker 3: had from early this season to now.
- 13:51Speaker 4: He said it was night and day. No pun intend
- 13:53Speaker 4: in Tyres Knight.
- 13:54Speaker 3: But the thing for me, though, is like that first
- 13:57Speaker 3: game he played against the Patriots, you gotta think he
- 14:00Speaker 3: couldn't have gotten all the reps that we can practice.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Darn Baker gets hurt and all of a sudden you're
- 14:04Speaker 3: in the thick of it and you're going right now.
- 14:06Speaker 3: He's had some time to set back, watch guys play,
- 14:08Speaker 3: play with a guy like Ernest Jones alongside of him,
- 14:11Speaker 3: and you knew you were gonna be the guy all week. Yep,
- 14:13Speaker 3: you had a whole week of preparation. To your point,
- 14:15Speaker 3: he fit right in. So I love to see the
- 14:17Speaker 3: rookie Tyrese Knight doing his thing and then Devin Witherspoon boom.
- 14:21Speaker 3: You want to talk about energy, He's been that since
- 14:23Speaker 3: the Dave step foot in Seattle. We know that about
- 14:25Speaker 3: Devin Witherspoon, but this was his most impactful game in
- 14:28Speaker 3: my opinion. Eight tackles, three passes defended. One of those
- 14:31Speaker 3: people U's led to an interception. He was active with
- 14:34Speaker 3: his pressures. He's just a different dude out there, whether
- 14:36Speaker 3: he's in the slot, whether he's outside, And honestly, he
- 14:39Speaker 3: could have had a couple more deflections. If jennings And
- 14:41Speaker 3: makes some amazing plays, man.
- 14:42Speaker 6: Man, he was on his hip. Gennis has made some plays, man.
- 14:45Speaker 3: But Witherspoon, that is the dude that we know who
- 14:48Speaker 3: he is, and that's the dude that makes him a
- 14:49Speaker 3: difference maker on this defense. And when he's playing like that,
- 14:52Speaker 3: good luck.
- 14:53Speaker 5: I see my man in between the tackles a couple times,
- 14:56Speaker 5: mixing it up in the box.
- 14:57Speaker 6: I'm like you a buck eighty five getting up in there.
- 15:00Speaker 5: This was a game that he needed, and I think
- 15:02Speaker 5: that the Towels needed to remind themselves, like he's a
- 15:05Speaker 5: good football player. Sometimes with dbs, if they're not making
- 15:08Speaker 5: interceptions or past defect deflections, then you lose them and
- 15:13Speaker 5: you can assume they're not having a good year. But
- 15:15Speaker 5: every time Mike MacDonald and Aady talked about spoon. They
- 15:18Speaker 5: liked where he was, so it was nice to see
- 15:21Speaker 5: him put it out there for the world to see.
- 15:24Speaker 5: This one I was the most excited about. We've talked
- 15:26Speaker 5: about a lot of guys balling out. Abe Lucas and
- 15:29Speaker 5: Ola with Timmy had themselves a day. Shout out to
- 15:32Speaker 5: both of these guys. Man Abe Lucas played in forty
- 15:35Speaker 5: two snaps. Forty two snaps and he looked like he
- 15:38Speaker 5: didn't skip a beat. I'm just hoping his body's okay.
- 15:41Speaker 5: Ola with Timmy played in every single snap and he
- 15:44Speaker 5: looks good. I saw him get beat maybe one time,
- 15:48Speaker 5: and I went to big ups the guards as well.
- 15:50Speaker 5: I think Anthony Bradford had a better game, and I
- 15:53Speaker 5: think Thomason had a better game. If they don't have
- 15:56Speaker 5: better games, it's hard for Olu to have the game
- 15:58Speaker 5: that he had as well. So big to that offensive
- 16:00Speaker 5: line sack four times. I believe Gino was hit six
- 16:04Speaker 5: or seven times, but they did enough and uh Olu
- 16:07Speaker 5: led the charge.
- 16:08Speaker 6: I was fun.
- 16:09Speaker 3: This in no way looked like the first matchup where
- 16:11Speaker 3: Nick Bosolone had fourteen pressures and was under fire from
- 16:14Speaker 3: the jump. There's plenty of times I felt like Gino
- 16:16Speaker 3: actually had a relatively clean pocket to work.
- 16:18Speaker 4: And you mentioned it before we got in the air.
- 16:20Speaker 3: How Gino is progressing and he goes through every one
- 16:22Speaker 3: of his progressions.
- 16:23Speaker 4: So how do you do that? You need to have
- 16:25Speaker 4: protection out to protect.
- 16:27Speaker 3: And again, when you're not coming into the week, and
- 16:30Speaker 3: if you're not talking about your guards or specific people
- 16:32Speaker 3: by naming numbers, that means the guys up front are
- 16:34Speaker 3: doing their things.
- 16:35Speaker 4: So big up to them cleaning things up.
- 16:37Speaker 5: But we are talking about them, Oh Lou and ab Lucas, baby,
- 16:40Speaker 5: we're talking about doing.
- 16:41Speaker 3: The thing your guy, ab Lucas, former koug, former Pride
- 16:44Speaker 3: of Art Bishop Murphy High School, now spreading love outside
- 16:49Speaker 3: outside of the old line.
- 16:50Speaker 4: The quarterbacks, bum, let's talk about these receivers, all right.
- 16:53Speaker 6: We talked about a couple of already.
- 16:54Speaker 5: JSN had ten receptions on eleven targets for a buck
- 16:58Speaker 5: ten DK had nine targets seven receptions for seventy yards,
- 17:02Speaker 5: Tyler Lockett at two for nineteen, AJ Barnard two for fifteen,
- 17:05Speaker 5: Kenneth Walker two for five, Zach Charboney.
- 17:08Speaker 6: Two for two yards.
- 17:08Speaker 5: Overall, this group averaged eight point eight yards per catch.
- 17:12Speaker 5: Jackson average eleven DK eleverage ten yards or average ten
- 17:16Speaker 5: yards per catch.
- 17:18Speaker 3: You know the cool thing I like about this with
- 17:19Speaker 3: the top weapons Tyler Lockett two receptions on three targets,
- 17:24Speaker 3: DK Metcalf seven receptions on nine targets, Jackson Smith the jig,
- 17:27Speaker 3: but ten receptions on eleven targets. That shows that it's
- 17:32Speaker 3: the accuracy is there that they're making receptions. It's not
- 17:34Speaker 3: one of those where yeah he had one hundred and
- 17:36Speaker 3: ten yards, we got targeted forty five times back, you
- 17:38Speaker 3: know what I mean. So love to see that from
- 17:40Speaker 3: Gino Smith and the rest of the receivers. So looking
- 17:42Speaker 3: good there. That brings us to the play of the game.
- 17:45Speaker 3: I'm sure you guys know what I'm gonna go here.
- 17:47Speaker 3: It's the last drive of the game. Geno Smith taking
- 17:49Speaker 3: the Seahawks down the field. I'm sure twelve's everywhere we're
- 17:52Speaker 3: panicking as the time is running out. No, this man
- 17:55Speaker 3: was cool, calm and collected. Gino Smith getting it done, you.
- 18:00Speaker 6: Know, gets them back to the line of scrimmage.
- 18:02Speaker 7: Twenty two twenty one gets a snap, looks steps up,
- 18:08Speaker 7: gonna run ten side Cheno.
- 18:11Speaker 8: Tout down, Sayhawks, Holy catfish. Geno Smith run fleft side,
- 18:20Speaker 8: can't find anybody open from thirteen out, twelve seconds.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Left and the Seahawks take the lead.
- 18:27Speaker 4: Nineteen seventeen. Why are you kidding me? No quit in
- 18:31Speaker 4: this bunch.
- 18:33Speaker 5: Yeah, this was this great decision making right made the
- 18:36Speaker 5: decision not to force anything. He has three receivers Gino
- 18:39Speaker 5: and Shotgun. Three receivers to the left of them, two
- 18:42Speaker 5: to the right. I love how they put DK Metcalf
- 18:45Speaker 5: closer to the line, excuse me, to the offensive line
- 18:47Speaker 5: at that number three receiver spot with AJ Barner on
- 18:50Speaker 5: the outside of him, just to give a different look
- 18:52Speaker 5: and try to get into a spot from a different area.
- 18:54Speaker 6: I love that.
- 18:55Speaker 5: On the other side, you got a little switch route
- 18:56Speaker 5: going on. That means that the outside receiver goes in,
- 18:59Speaker 5: inside receiver goes out. And now on the left side
- 19:01Speaker 5: of the Geno you have DK Metcalf to the flat
- 19:03Speaker 5: and you got AJ Barner work in the middle of
- 19:05Speaker 5: field and then a shallow You got to give the
- 19:07Speaker 5: Niners credit here, they played this perfectly. Everything was on lock.
- 19:12Speaker 5: You got Fred Warner roaming in the middle of the field.
- 19:15Speaker 5: That's where they went wrong. He went to the field side.
- 19:18Speaker 5: That's the wide side of the field naturally to help
- 19:20Speaker 5: out with that combination over there, Gino felt some pressure,
- 19:23Speaker 5: stepped up, kept his eyes down the field and saw
- 19:26Speaker 5: that everybody was locked up. They had man on man,
- 19:28Speaker 5: bodies on bodies over there. So then he says, I'll
- 19:30Speaker 5: go ahead and do this thing myself, and he glides
- 19:33Speaker 5: in that end zone.
- 19:35Speaker 3: What I love about this bump, So time and score.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Seahawks are trailing thirteen to seventeen. There's twenty one seconds
- 19:40Speaker 3: on the clock, second and two no timeouts none.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Gino gets tackled there, bump. We are in some trouble.
- 19:46Speaker 6: It's some big trouble.
- 19:47Speaker 3: It's gonna be a Matt scramble to get back to
- 19:49Speaker 3: the line of scrimmage.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Okay, what do you do? Do you spike it because
- 19:52Speaker 4: you want to stop the clock? Boom?
- 19:53Speaker 3: Okay, now it's fourth down, games over and they have
- 19:55Speaker 3: one playing with him play yep. So Geno's just a
- 19:58Speaker 3: presence of mind. You went through all the things. Geno
- 20:00Speaker 3: Smith and I love it too, because we had I
- 20:03Speaker 3: think it was the Broncos game the season over. We
- 20:05Speaker 3: had that long thirty seven yard run as long as
- 20:08Speaker 3: his career and just settle, just picking and choosing his
- 20:11Speaker 3: time man, and I love to see it.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Picked it at the right time.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Two big scrambles on the final drive, setting up our
- 20:16Speaker 3: favorite formation in football, victory formation.
- 20:21Speaker 7: Here comes the Seahawks offense on to the field and
- 20:24Speaker 7: the Vikings defense crutching out there knowing that one meal
- 20:29Speaker 7: down and the Seahawks are gonna wind the clock down and.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Win this one.
- 20:33Speaker 1: It's the victory formation on Hawk Talk.
- 20:36Speaker 4: The Giant gone down.
- 20:38Speaker 3: They have been slaid six game losing Street to the
- 20:40Speaker 3: forty nine Ers is finally on her and like I said,
- 20:43Speaker 3: all is right in the world.
- 20:44Speaker 6: First one against the Niners. Gino not a baby.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Love it, Love it man.
- 20:49Speaker 3: I mean in this one, obviously everyone's gonna say the
- 20:52Speaker 3: right things, but this shoot, this was personal for me too.
- 20:54Speaker 6: Yeah, you know what I'm.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Saying, Like in this rivalry, I'm just I have a
- 20:58Speaker 3: co old intern that used to work for the he'd
- 21:00Speaker 3: be talking on the No. Does Zack's have been super
- 21:03Speaker 3: respect because he used to work here, So yeah, he
- 21:04Speaker 3: got here and he's a diard Niners fan. But this
- 21:07Speaker 3: is the first time that the Seahawks had won since
- 21:09Speaker 3: he's been over there, so I felt pretty good about that. Yeah,
- 21:12Speaker 3: but yeah, and in the defense, we talked about it
- 21:14Speaker 3: from the jump. The defense played so well. I think
- 21:16Speaker 3: this is our best game of the year. Might not
- 21:18Speaker 3: be statistically, but given the opponent. They only gave up
- 21:21Speaker 3: one play of twenty yards in the game. Stopping the
- 21:25Speaker 3: explosives held Christian McCaffrey to under one hundred yards and
- 21:28Speaker 3: the forty nine ers team under three hundred yards. That
- 21:30Speaker 3: hasn't been done in this whole stretch. So to see
- 21:32Speaker 3: them make that step against that team needed to happen.
- 21:34Speaker 4: Love to see it.
- 21:34Speaker 5: I'm so used to seeing McCaffrey break off a fifty
- 21:37Speaker 5: yarder and we did not see that on Sunday.
- 21:40Speaker 6: And I appreciate the defense for that.
- 21:41Speaker 5: And I appreciate this young man, Tyree's Knight, drafted in
- 21:44Speaker 5: the fourth round out of UTEP.
- 21:46Speaker 6: No one really knew about him. He had to go
- 21:47Speaker 6: ahead and watch the.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Film and his instincts is what stepped out to me
- 21:50Speaker 5: or stood out to me when I was watching him
- 21:52Speaker 5: in college. And that's what I saw this weekend. Tyree's
- 21:55Speaker 5: Knight was where he was supposed to be. He made
- 21:57Speaker 5: some tackles and he was enthusiastic. I love it and
- 22:00Speaker 5: then you got to talk about JSN man back to
- 22:02Speaker 5: back hund of yard games, clutch, my man is catching
- 22:05Speaker 5: the football in between plays. There is that one where
- 22:08Speaker 5: Gino's rolling to the right and Fred Warner's right there
- 22:10Speaker 5: and Gino drops a dot and you could easily get
- 22:12Speaker 5: distracted with the hands in front of the football. Not JSN.
- 22:16Speaker 5: He continues to take steps forward and mature man. You
- 22:20Speaker 5: know what it is. I saw him at Starbucks and
- 22:22Speaker 5: I gave him to what up? That's what it was.
- 22:25Speaker 5: I gave him good energy and he went and did
- 22:27Speaker 5: his thing. You know after doing that, bump fans, thank you.
- 22:29Speaker 6: That what I do for the squad.
- 22:30Speaker 3: What I love about Jaysn is he's taking he's starting
- 22:32Speaker 3: to take a page out of a guy that you
- 22:34Speaker 3: played with, Bobby and Bobby. It was third down, where
- 22:36Speaker 3: are we looking? Looking Brady for Bobby and so loving
- 22:38Speaker 3: to see that from JSN. And then you got Geno Smith.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Was he absolutely perfect? Now he had won bad play,
- 22:43Speaker 3: but he put the team on his back again when
- 22:46Speaker 3: you need the game. And who else do I want
- 22:49Speaker 3: the ball? Gino Smith's I want the ball in his hands.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Second most comfort behind wins, game winning drives since twenty
- 22:55Speaker 3: twenty two. Gino Smith has just been unbelievable the season
- 22:57Speaker 3: and I'm loving where he's going or he's taking his
- 22:59Speaker 3: football team.
- 23:00Speaker 5: Yeah, we go as far as Gino goes, as far
- 23:02Speaker 5: as his online protects, and as far as his defense
- 23:05Speaker 5: stops the run, he makes big play.
- 23:06Speaker 6: So keep it rolling.
- 23:07Speaker 4: I love it.
- 23:08Speaker 5: The Seahawks and now just one game at a first
- 23:10Speaker 5: place in the NFC West, which is crazy. We thought
- 23:12Speaker 5: the world was over and the season was lost. But
- 23:15Speaker 5: you need to get this win over the Cardinals. Next
- 23:17Speaker 5: week you have a chance to kind of control your
- 23:20Speaker 5: own destiny because these guys are in sole possession of
- 23:22Speaker 5: first place.
- 23:23Speaker 6: Man, the Niners go to Green Bay.
- 23:24Speaker 5: That's gonna be a tough Packers team, and then the
- 23:26Speaker 5: Rams host the Eagles. I'm gonna go ahead and say
- 23:28Speaker 5: the Eagles get that dam is looking good for the Seahawks. Yeah,
- 23:32Speaker 5: they got to go on a run started with the Niners.
- 23:34Speaker 5: Step one there, step two, Cardinals.
- 23:36Speaker 4: Yeah, take care of business.
- 23:37Speaker 3: You're gonna play two gas against the Cardinals in the
- 23:39Speaker 3: next three weeks. So a lot of big games, a
- 23:41Speaker 3: lot of big football to be played. But the Seahawks
- 23:43Speaker 3: got it done again. We're broadcasting from the Seahawks Podcast Studio,
- 23:47Speaker 3: presented by Sony, the official partner of the Seattle Seahawks.

- 24:01Speaker 3: nine ers. Lots of stuff go ahead this week the
- 24:04Speaker 3: Seahawks take it on the Cardinals. Will preview that matchup
- 24:07Speaker 3: on Thursday. He's Michael Obamas, some NASA trobe. This has
- 24:09Speaker 3: been Hawk Talk. We'll talk to you guys soon
