- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello and welcome to another episode of Grace Explained.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Today we're going to go ahead and we're going to talk about getting angry or getting mad.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: I've had people say, Oh, are you mad at me?
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: And something I learned a long time ago is that very rarely do I get mad.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Usually I would get angry.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: And just to kind of talk about the difference of the two, you know, angry is feeling resentment provoked, or and it's usually followed generally, you know, with a person.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: You know, you're you're angry with a person, or you're so they provoked you, they did something to you, said something to you, looked at you funny, uh, whatever it may be, and you know, you get angry with them.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Um and it's a it's an emotion that we all have, it's part of our nature, and it's something that we um some people can control and other people cannot control.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: So when it comes to to getting to getting angry, um it's not wrong.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: There it's not a sin, but it can become a sin, if that makes sense.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Um and so we're gonna kind of look at that a little bit uh this week and um and kind of see what see what this is uh you know, see what this is talking about and see if we can understand it.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Um mad would be inflamed to excess with desire, inflamed with anger, very anger, enraged, furious as a mad bull.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: So when I've had people, when they say, and I think about it this way, of I've I don't know where I picked this up at, um, and it's been a long, long time ago.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: I was probably in my 20s when I heard someone said, Are you mad at me?
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: I go, No, I'm angry.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Uh a dog gets mad.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: And when you think about a mad dog, you know, you think about that dog that's that's foaming, his teeth are showing, he's growling, and he's foaming at the mouth, and you know, you think about, oh, does he have rabies?
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: You know, he just wants to get at you.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Um when you it's funny that word mad when you look at it in the scriptures, it's really talking about a person who's mad, and we've heard that, you know, we kind of see that aspect of the word mad with someone who's kind of out of their mind, um, who's not thinking correctly, who's not thinking straight.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: So you you see how there's a difference between anger and mad.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Angry is is getting upset about something, something that's bothering you, and you you can react a certain way, and and for some people you get angry.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Um, but when you let that anger fester, that anger continues to grow and grow and grow, you get mad.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: And when you get mad, you start doing things like throwing things, you start, you know, there's people who have killed people, but they don't get they don't get charged with first degree murder because it was it was a crime of passion for lack of a better term.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: They were they were so angry and they were so mad they were out of their mind.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: They still committed the crime, they're still getting charged with murder, but they're not getting charged with a like a first-degree murder where they planned it out and they they figured out what they were gonna do, how they were gonna do it.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Um, this is just um them reacting and being mad and out of their mind.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: So when we think about um anger and we look at anger, which is what we're gonna talk about because it's in the scriptures, the word mad is in the scriptures, but again, it's talking about people who are out of their mind um for lack of a better term.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Um, when we talk about anger, you know, as we live our daily lives, um we often encounter things that that um cause us to be angry.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: The first one I'll come up with that a lot of people would probably agree with and go, yeah, I I can get that is road rage.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: There's more and more of that road rage going on.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Um my brother and I were talking, I got I got in an accident.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Um people had said that um that um I ran into them, they actually sideswiped me.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Long story short, I said I gotta get a camera so that way I can tell the truth and not have people, you know, just completely deny things.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: My brother, I think on the other hand, he says just people are getting so angry on the road.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: I think he wants a camera just to show if something happens um, you know, that uh it was the other person that was that had the road rage.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Um so you get road rage, uh people get upset with their spouse, people get upset with their children, people get upset with their siblings, people get upset with their friends, you know, and so when they do, they they get angry.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: They and and sometimes things are said or things are done that you wish you could take back, but you don't.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: Um it's a natural emotion, but understanding its nature according to the Bible is essential for our growth.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: Um the scripture reminds us that that while we're angry, you know, while anger can stem from various situations, you know, we don't want to let it consume us.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: Instead, we should take a step back, we should evaluate our feelings and respond in a manner that aligns with God's teachings.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: So do we want to do what we want to do based on our emotion, or do we want to do what we should do based on the scriptures?
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Well, when we recognize the triggers of anger, um we can approach these situations with a calm heart.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: Uh I had a good friend of mine, and he actually said, Do you act or react?
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: And you're gonna hear me say that a couple more times in this in this episode, but do we act or react?
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: So that's the main thing.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: You know, we don't want to react.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: React is immediate, and again, that's when things are said, done, or whatever that you end up regretting later, but instead you want to calmly think about the situation.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: You hear people talk about this all the time, um, I guess when they go to an anger management, but they'll count to ten.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: So then that way they're not angry, they're not upset.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: You know, they're counting to ten, and then they're gonna go ahead and you know act on it instead of reacting.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Psalm chapter 37 and verse 8.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Psalm chapter 37 and verse 8, and these are just um uh a couple verses about anger and um and understanding again that there is anger, but it's not something that we want it want it to be part of our nature.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: It's not something that's what we want, we want it to be part of who we are.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: Because again, we want to we want people to see Christ in us.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: We don't want people to see us, because in us there is no good.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: So in Psalm chapter 37 and verse 8 he says, cease from anger and forsake wrath.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Fret not thyselves anywise to do evil.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: So what David is saying there is saying, Cease from anger.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: Don't don't let anger be the thing that rules or dictates how you how you react to a situation or you act to a situation.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: Don't let that be the thing that you're going to, there'll be the first response.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: And and listen, I bet you there everyone that listens to this knows of somebody that they're like, oh, I know that person always gets upset.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: I know that person always gets mad.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: Look at Proverbs chapter 15 and verse 8.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: Proverbs 15 and verse 8, he says, A wrathful man stirreth up strife, but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: So what happens is a guy that is always going to get upset and he's always going to to get angry and quickly get angry, he stirreth up strife.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: He's the guy that's always that's always going ahead and and bringing issues in and getting in fights, for lack of a better term.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: Where he's that he that is slow to anger, he appeases strife.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: He he's they strife is something that's not need needs to be done.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: So we we see that we don't want to have anger and strife as part of our as part of our life.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: Um there's there's pitfalls of anger.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, as we reflect on anger, it's vital for us to acknowledge the pitfalls that come with it.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: And so the Bible describes how uncontrolled anger can lead to both harm, both to ourselves and others.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, if we get angry and and and we can't control our anger, not only do we hurt others, but we hurt ourselves.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: And sometimes we hurt ourselves by hurting others, if that makes any sense.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: Um and then when we allow that anger to dictate our actions, we rise to hurting those around us, even pushing away, um, you know, even pushing away our loved ones.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: It may seem justified in the moment, but the long-term consequences can be damaging.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: So we need to remind ourselves that it's essential to pause and think before we react in anger.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: Again, we don't need to react, but we need to act.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: We need to think about, hey, this isn't something that I want, you know, when something happens, I'm going to react to it.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: And and, you know, I tell you these things, and this is one thing I've always told people, you know, when you're standing up behind a pulpit or you're here behind a mic doing a podcast, when you're pre when you're teaching or preaching, most preachers that I've talked to, and most preachers that I know, they're preaching to themselves 90% of the time.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: They're not preaching to the people out there and condemning them.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: They're preaching to themselves.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: There's things that that that we need, we're not perfect.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: No one's ever said that that a man who's who who teaches or stands behind a pulpit is perfect, and we're not.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: So we have to understand these things.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: Um, but again, we don't want to act.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: I mean, we don't want to react when something happens, but we want to act upon something and do it in a calm um a calm manner.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: Uh Proverbs chapter 14 and verse 29.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: Proverbs 14, verse 29.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: He that is slow to anger is of great understanding.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: So again, this isn't a person who flies off the handle and gets very, very upset and angry at a moment's notice.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: A person with great understanding is slow to wrath.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: If you look over a couple chapters in Proverbs chapter 16 and verse 32, he says, He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: So again, a person who immediately gets upset with someone and immediately goes ahead and gets angry at people, they're not a person of great understanding, and they're not, they're not the mighty.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: They may think they're the mighty, but they're not the mighty.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: I mean, a person who just who just immediately just gets gets upset, um they really don't, in my opinion, they don't have much wisdom at all.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: So we have to understand that we don't want to be, we want to be slow to to wrath, we want to be slow to anger.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Um, Matthew 15 chapter 5 and verse 22.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: Matthew 5, 22, it says, but I say unto you that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: So there are times, and and again, there's times we get it we get upset or we get angry, and we can.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: That's that's not, and we're gonna look at a couple a couple illustrations of this, but we can get upset, and we can get angry um if it's for the right reason, if it's for the right cause.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: But if you don't have a right cause, if you're just angry at your brother for what just because you you're you're upset with them for whatever reason, then that right there um is is not is is something where under the under the wall they were in they the person who was angry was in in danger of the judgment.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Um Paul actually talks to us and he says in Colossians 3 and verse 8, Paul says, But now ye also put off all these anger, wrath, malice.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: There's no reason that a member of the body of Christ should be angry or have wrath or malice, and and again, the way that term angry is used there is not for a good reason, but for just getting upset, um, because it's showing who you are, it's showing you, and you have to remember, and and maybe we'll do a study on this one you know one day is who are we really in Christ?
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Because when you understand who you are in Christ, and that not only are you in Christ, but Christ is in you, there's times that people will say to me, they go, Well, well, you really handled that really well, or you know, you handle that person with such grace, or folks, that's not me.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: That's that I don't Keith doesn't act that way.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: Christ in me does, but I don't act that way.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: So um you've got to realize that the maturity and understanding and growth in the scriptures and understanding and growth in Christ helps you to live and act a certain way.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: And it's though and it's Christ in you and you being in him.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: And so when what what Paul is telling people, listen, when he's telling, he's talking to the saints, he goes, I want you to act like I want you to show who you are.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: I want you to, I want people not to see you, but to see Christ in you.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: So that's so there are there are pitfalls to to anger, and we want to not be a part of that.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: Um, and then we we've got to understand how to manage our anger, and it's an important lesson that the Bible emphasizes.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: Just because we feel anger doesn't mean we have to act on it.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: Again, it's like anything.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: We have free will, we have we have volition to do whatever we want.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: We can go left or right, we can we can we can go up or down, we can we make our own decisions.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: And just because we feel angry doesn't need to mean doesn't mean we have to act angry.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: Learning how to channel our feelings constructively, it's it's vital for our spiritual life.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: And every situation where we might feel the heat of anger rising, we can pause, we can stop, we can reflect, and we can choose to respond in a way that brings peace instead of conflict.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: Someone can get in your face and you can easily get right back into their face, or someone can get in your face and you can just turn around and walk away.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: And you know, the interesting thing is it's funny that there's a lot of self-defense classes.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: And self-defense classes aren't made for you to bully people, self-defense classes aren't made for you to pick on people, self-defense classes aren't made for you to you to fight people.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: Self-defense classes are simply that.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: If the the one thing you try to do is just get away peacefully and get and get away, but if someone attacks you or does something, it's to subdue them enough so that they're not going to attack you any longer, and then you get away.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: So I never wrestled in high school.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: I thought I thought the guys that wrestled were crazy because of all the stuff they did before they got on the mat and wrestled.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: So when I say crazy, I mean I I respected all the guys that I went to school with that were wrestlers.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: I mean, they was, you know, it was something that they were doing that I chose not to do.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: But not only was it physically something, it's mentally it's a challenge.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: I mean, again, they're not when something happens to them, they're not to react, but they're to act.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: They're to they're to someone puts a move on them, they're they're supposed to think two or three steps ahead of that and go, okay, if they put this move on me, then this is the counter I'm gonna make on them.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: So again, it comes back to the issue of not acting, I mean reacting, reacting, but acting.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: Something happens to you, don't react, but act.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: Um, a couple verses again, back to Proverbs, chapter 15 and verse 1.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: Proverbs 15 and verse 1, it says, A soft answer turneth away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: So, you know, sometimes someone says something to you, and you could say something back to them, and boy, that made you feel good at that moment, but all that did was made them angrier.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: And so if something bothers you, a soft answer turn turneth away wrath.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: Something that's that's nice to be said, something that is apologetic, something that is asking for forgiveness, whatever it may be, instead of going, oh yeah, well you're uh or if it wasn't for you, or what instead of doing something that would stir up the anger, say something that would turn away wrath.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: Something that would that would say, I know, I shouldn't have done that, or you're right, or or you know, I'm sorry for that, or whatever it is.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: Um Proverbs chapter 14 and verse 17.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: So the guy that gets angry real quick, he's a fool.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: He's dealing foolishly, and a man of wicked devices is hatred.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's hated.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: So when you look at this and you understand, it's it's an issue of not getting angry, not being angry so fast, it's not reacting, but it's acting.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: So, what's Paul tell us as saints?
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: What's Paul tell us as members of the body of Christ?
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: Well, he told us to put away anger, wrath, malice.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: He told us to put that away.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: But you know what?
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: Paul also being a human, being a man, understanding that we're not perfect.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: Paul says in Ephesians chapter 4 and verse 26, he knows we're gonna get angry.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: He he got angry.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: And if you look at Ephesians 4, verse 26, he says, be angry and sin not.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: Be angry and sin not.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: And that's we're gonna come back to that verse, but be angry and sin not.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: That's something that's very important.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna bring up two illustrations where the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, God the Son manifest in the flesh, was angry.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: And then I'm going to bring up an illustration where Paul was angry.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: And look at Mark chapter 11 and verse 15 through 17.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: Mark chapter 11, verse 16, 15 through 17, and they come to Jerusalem, and Jesus went into the temple and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers and the seats of them that sold doves, and would not suffer that any man should carry any vessels through the temple, and he taught, saying unto them, It is it is is it not written, My house should be called of all nations the house of prayer?
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: But ye have made it a den of thieves?
- 21:57SPEAKER_00: Now do you think when God Christ went in there that that he he wasn't upset.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: He was upset.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: For him to to to throw over the money, the the tables of the money changers, he was very upset.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: But he had a reason to.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: He had a godly reason to because that's not what the temple was for.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: That wasn't the purpose of the temple.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: The purpose of the temple wasn't for the religious leaders to make to make money.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: And I'll tell you, there are people I know in the ministry that make seven figures.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: And I don't get mad at them for that, but when I hear some of the things they're teaching, and when I hear some of the things that they're saying about giving, and some of the things that they tell people, and how that they need to give more.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: Listen, I've talked to so many people that say they won't go to church.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: The one reason they won't go to church or they don't go to church anymore is because they went to church, and the last time they went to church, they passed the plate around five times before the guy ever preached.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: You know, and they were taking a special collection for this, and they were taking a special collection for that, and they were taking an offering for this, and they were taking an offering for that, and they just said it seemed like all they wanted was money.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, when Christ walks in and he sees this and he knows this isn't what they're supposed to be doing, he's going, he's gonna flip over the tables and run them out of there and tell them this isn't, this is this is a house of prayer.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: This is not something where you guys are supposed to be coming in and stealing, and there's a lot more to that story, but we're not gonna get into, but but that you guys are coming in and you're stealing from the saints, for lack of a better term.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: So this is um something that's very, very um interesting, how that Christ himself was angry and upset, but it was justified.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: Um Galatians chapter 2.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: Galatians chapter 2 and verse 11, and here's Paul, and he's talking to the saints at Galatia about how that they're not under the law anymore, they're under grace.
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: And he and Peter he would go to the Gentiles.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: Now you've got to remember Peter was not to go into the Gentiles or any city of the Samaritans, but he was supposed to go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: But now there's been a change, and we've talked about that a little bit, and we'll look at it more later as the studies go on, but there's been a change.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: And now, because the dispensation of grace has been ushered in, that the Gentiles are now being saved without Israel.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: Israel is not, that's not the vessel in which they're going to receive eternal life.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: Um, but instead, because of the nation of Israel rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ and being put away and can and fallen, um the Gentiles are now receiving the gospel of grace without without the nation of Israel.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: So what's happened here is Peter's now going and he's he's he's among these gentiles and they're saints, so he's eating with them.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: But then certain other Jewish people, Israelites, walked up, and when he saw them, he got he got away from them, and he's like, hey, you know, I'm I'm not eating with them because he I'm not supposed to be eating with the Gentiles.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: And when P and when Paul heard the story and he saw Peter, he he was upset and he was angry and he told Peter what he thought and he said, listen, you you know, you know that that you're able to be with the Gentiles, and hear some others walk up, and you're gonna you're gonna now go back to the way it was, and and you're now gonna try to make the Gentiles be under the law when you know they're not supposed to be under the law, that we're not under the law anymore, we're under grace.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: And so he was really he was really upset, and you see this in this verse, Galatians 2.11, he says, but when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face because he was to be blamed.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: So you can imagine that Paul is right in the face of Peter.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: And you can tell they're having a discussion, and if you were standing off to the side and you were watching the two of them, you would probably go, Oh, I probably should not walk up there because this doesn't seem like this is gonna be like this is going down very well.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: So my point is, even Paul got angry with Peter, but it was for the right reason.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: And what he did was Paul was angry, but he didn't sin.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: Back to Ephesians 4.26, he says, be angry and sin not.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: But the rest of that verse goes on, and this is something that people who know me, this is something that bothers me.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: I do not like to go to sleep being angry at somebody.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: I don't like I do not like to go to sleep with someone else being angry with me.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: And it says, be angry and sin not, let not the sun go down upon your wrath.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Listen, folks, if you're upset with someone or you're angry with someone, take care of it.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: We don't need to be angry with them.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: We don't need to be upset with them.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: You know why?
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: Because later, a few verses down from Ephesians chapter 4, 26, he tells us that we need to forgive one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven us.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're angry.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: You said your peace.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: You didn't sin, but don't let that anger fester through the night and into the next into the next day.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: I usually have a horrible night's sleep when that happens.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: Be angry and sin not, and let not the sun go down upon your wrath.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: Because we need to forgive one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: If you've never put your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, remember we're all sinners.
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: There's none of us that are perfect, but the perfect man, the perfect God, came in the form of the Lord Jesus Christ in the flesh, lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: And if you'll simply put your faith and trust in him and him alone, you will have the free gift of eternal life.
