- 1:57[SPEAKER_02]: We absolutely love it.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_02]: We've had it for month and a half almost two months now, and we really do love it.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's a gorgeous car.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's so fun to drive.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's quiet.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, our next car has to be quiet and it is.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: But the sound system is great when you want to turn it up.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: Baby loves it.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_02]: My wife loves it.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.

- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: They are no pressure.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: Great deals.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: Straight forward.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: Really informative and a really good selection.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: So you'll enjoy it.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: We had a very specific, I'm like, you know, if we could, I'd love this specific spec.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: black blonde interior, and they found it, they weren't many of them, but they found it and got it and we love it.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: So all right, let's get all of it and let's start a conversation with Fred Warner, then I react to some of what Fred said, and then we got on some other stuff like what is the
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: and some really remarkable Brock Perty scramble numbers and some 40 numbers numbers on the explosive plays they've had through three games that are at the top of the league on offense and defense.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_02]: So here we go.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_02]: Here's Fred Warner up first.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: Watch in Denver.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_02]: They seem to run six or seven times and maybe more you tell me either some sort of zone read or an RPO, especially like in the red zone.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_02]: What are the challenges in that with them?
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean it just adds an extra layer of something that we have to be on top of in those critical moments.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: You mentioned like down near the red zone.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: and the quarterback wanted to come alive, right?
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: And there's different indicators that they might show of when they're wanting to do those things.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: And it's about just kind of being aware of that and calling it out, pre-snap.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: Usually, our pre-snap communication when we're on it, it takes care of the down altogether.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, bone X is he's a sneaky not I don't even say sneaky good athlete at this point because everybody knows just how good a player is, but he is a good athlete and will run away from you if you're not careful.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: So that's even post ankle surgery.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so we just got to be on top of it RPO game is about just a numbers game, right?
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: They want to see do they have the numbers to kind of with the ball out there or do they want to hand the ball off.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: with a lighter box so all things that we're kind of working through the mechanics of, you know, throughout the week of practice.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: I asked you a little bit about this a few weeks ago in the locker room and I'd love to try and drill down just a little more.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_02]: We get as fans a little bit of a sneak of what it sounds like in the quarterback's helmet.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: The quarterback and the coach communication system.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: We don't we rarely hear and then you hear the quarterback talking in the hot-off We rarely get that on the defensive side and obviously you've been through a lot of changes on the defensive side a lot of adjustment But could you for like put us for 30 seconds in what you hear from Raheem?
- 4:50[SPEAKER_02]: What you repeat then to everybody and kind of how that communication works
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I think it's funny because this year is a little more unique because our team has an offensive background, so he calls plays more like a for a quarterback right at that makes sense.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: So like in the past, we've had calls where it's just one work, right?
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: If it's if it's we call anahime that's like, okay, a California city.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: where we're playing this right and so, you know, that's way more simple than often to play calls where they have, you know, three or four different layers to it.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, with this year, you know, he'll give me the call.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: However long it is, I got to be able to, you know, kind of just regurgitated in my mind back to the defense, make sure everybody's on the same page because it's a part of the call that may be just for the D line, right?
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: And then the second call that's for the back end and the coverage.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: But then if they come out in this look, we want to check it.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: Just like an offense, we can't do a different play.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: If they see different look, we want to can, right?
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: So they're look, so the communication of making sure the d-lines on the same page with that, and the back end, all on the same page.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's just constant communication of a pre-snap, making sure we're all dialed in, doing the same thing.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: And like I said, like usually when we're on it, it takes care of the down completely.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: But if guys are kind of like, wait, what do you say?
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: Is that odd?
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: And then it is, you know, so.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: Are his plays as long as Kyle's play?
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: No, I wouldn't say so.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: I've heard some of those play calls from Kyle and I'm like, I don't know how Brock remembers any of that, but there's definitely layers to the, to the, each play within our defense as well.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: It was interesting in the off season, you had Mike Evans on your podcast.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_02]: And you guys talked about, kind of, what it is that keeps you going.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_02]: You talked about a little bit.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_02]: This thing we're like in your head, you probably think I'm the baddest person there is.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: And yet there is this like sense of team.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_02]: Where does that come from and why do you think you guys have that?
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think the thing that's special when you bring a group of guys together, like what we have, you know, I said all along before the season started, you guys, people, other teams were
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know of the glitz and the glam of certain names.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, man, we just signed Mike Evans, like this guy's a Hall of Famer.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: We have Trent Williams, a Hall of Famer, Chris McCabris, a Hall of Famer, and it's Bosa, and the George Kittles, and it's like, well, the thing that separates all our guys, I feel like it's just the hunger that it's never enough, right?
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: Regardless of the accolades, what we've done in this league, we all have an understanding on our team that like you have to go out and you have to prove it every single time.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know, regardless of the year,
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: regardless of the game you know it doesn't matter if you had a great game last game if you go out there and lay an egg this game it's everybody's gonna tell you how bad you are now right so there's this there's just like this constant hunger and thirst for like man how can we just get how can you because you never are staying the same in this league you're either getting better the next year you're getting worse you're getting better the next game or you getting worse you never just kind of staying the same and you know when you could talk about like the Mike Evans and things like that it's like well
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: He could have just laid it down and just said, man, I've got stats up there with Jerry Rice like, man, I'm good, but it's like, no, he just, he wants to be out there at practice and he wants to work on the timing and the throws and with Brock and like just being out there and just grinding it out and it's like, man, like,
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: How can that not be inspiring to the rest of the group, right?
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: When you got your best players who compete at that sort of a level and have that kind of mindset, I think that is what separates the best from the best.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: So you don't, you don't ever know like what makes the guy tick and stood until you're around him on a consistent basis and it was like, with Mike, it was
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing really needed to be said he came in here and never we're never really said much He just would kind of just show up and we just have this blank this blank look on his face and just For just be it just be out there just going to work and you see him after practice is catching balls or pre-practice catching balls
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, hmm, still don't have a good good read on this guy, you know, but hey, I mean, he's doing what he do, you know what I'm saying?
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: So, uh, you then obviously as time has passed, you start to see him starting to like, he plays cards and chess and all these different things with different guys in locker room, and He's just a good teammate man.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: He's just a good dude.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have time?
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: He even brought him out of highlight real catch every week.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have time to go like as a fan like why?
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: Every time it's happened on the sideline, I'm like, oh my god, we have my ovens.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: I've said that out loud every single time I've seen one of those catches, and I, you know, I obviously see, I say right after I'm like, oh my god, we've brought party, you know, the best quarterback in the game throwing to one of the best receivers with six, five, with 35 inch arms.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's like, wow.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, and add that to everything else we have.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to end the interview without asking you a Brock Pretty question, but since you mentioned that, we talked Brock Pretty all day all night.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: I watched all 83 of his throws this morning.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_02]: The reason I watched it was because where he was calling him like Lair King, we talked about all that, you know, all that stuff, you try to get the ball.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: But he's only throwing one of those balls, a layered middle of the field throw all year.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_02]: And he said something last week, he said he has to throw violently.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I thought it was a really interesting description of like, and when you watch him, he's, he's, it feels like he's ripping the ball would be the way I would describe it.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: What are you seeing with him this year?
- 10:14[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that you, and did you see it in training camp?
- 10:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, of course.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, that was like the whole discussion, entering week one and ever since, we started the season was like, man, tell us about that training camp that rock party had,
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, it's not like he didn't have a great training camp before that, but just like as a quarterback you know you know when a guy just has a different kind of just a difference walk to him in a different command and a different just, you know, just the decisiveness and what he's playing like there wasn't any like, you know, any, any flinch, any blink, any like, I wonder, I wonder where no, it's like he was in full control of the offense all along and that's exactly what you've seen through three weeks.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: Is exactly that the decisiveness in which he's throwing.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's that's what you know what you call the violent throwing It's just no one matter of fact that I'm ripping this ball here and regardless of if you know If it's right or wrong it's going there so usually he's right and hopefully continue to be right
- 11:19[SPEAKER_02]: All right, there was Fred Warner, and I hopefully you enjoyed that.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I thought it was really insightful from Fred.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: The stuff on Raheem calling plays differently than most defensive guys.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_02]: And he thinks because of his defensive background, I thought that was interesting.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: The bonus thing, now you know what to watch for when you're watching this game, or listening to this game on Sunday, or watching while you listen to us, watch on TV, you can do that on radio, mean Tim Ryan.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_02]: I thought, you know, the thing with Raheem is it highlights Fred's value, just like for all the simplicity that people talk about, oh Kyle, shaming hands off ends, it protects you, but is a quarterback, but it's not simple.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: And it takes a guy at a very high level mentally to be able to operate quickly through it and then build on it, which is what's happening now with Brock.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_02]: And the trading camp thing is funny, you know, that question could have been better asked like,
- 12:10[SPEAKER_02]: Fred, I know you saw it in training, because I saw it in training him and you know it far better than I know it, but it was obvious.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: And I said it on this show before week one, I think it's going to have the best year of his career.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: And well, I think it's interesting to keep asking people.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: I almost didn't ask him because these guys are going to ask about Brock every week every day.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: But I think what's interesting about it is, and John Lynch said at the other day they all are saying yes Brock was already really good and acknowledging what I'm telling you I'm seeing and I think there's a debate whether it's happening or not is that he has even leveled up more this year and you know I think the answer to that is yes interesting to hear him talk about kind of in that Mike Evans answer
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of the teams are getting talked about, you know, I went back and looked the top 100 from last year, and I felt top 100, which it's a little weird, because it comes out like in September, but players vote on it last year.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, like if you're both and you got hurt, you know, players aren't going to, you're not going to be on there as high.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: But nonetheless, the NFL top 100 list from last year, Christian McCaffrey 6th, Trent Williams
- 13:23[SPEAKER_02]: George Kittle 46th, Fred Warner 54th, again he got hurt, and I think that's where the player's vote, but then it comes out September.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: July, June, July, August, not September.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: And then Brock pretty 85th.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine if you read that right now, and at this pace by the end of the year, where those guys were, it's missing, like my Kevin's, my Kevin's not on the list, not got hurt.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: Where would he be right now?
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: Coming up, what I'm hearing the price for TJ what could be an other potential trade candidates for the 40 matters, if you heard my Dale Jeremiah interview that came out on Friday, he said he thinks that I don't need another.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's fair.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's not even with Kittle coming back at some point.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's not about complimenting George.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's about you just need a password.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: So whether Kittle is there or not, and if Kittle's there great, and if he's not, you're going to need another guy.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: So I want to get to that in a second,
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: I can't blow my mind when I look this up.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: Now I have a database.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: that I have built using the NFL APIs.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I am speaking above probably some of your heads, but believe me, I don't actually know what I'm doing.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: I just had some help to build this.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: Basically, I have the NFL play by play data going back years, decades, and so I can create custom stats with it.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I do think explosive stats they exist and they're different in different places, but here's what I've got for you.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I want to tell you the park, Brock Pertis Legs.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_02]: are the part that we're probably statistically not talking enough about so far this year.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_02]: So the number one, the numbers are number one in past play percentage explosives 13% of the 49ers past plays are going for 20 yards or more.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's number one in the NFL entering this week.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: On the run game, the night is a number three.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: In run game percentage explosives, 15.6% of their runs are going for 10 yards or more.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_02]: And I know different people might use different numbers there, like you might get 15 yards as an explosive.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_02]: For me, I made it 10.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: I'll get back to that stat in a second.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: On defense, the 40 matters have only allowed 2.7%
- 15:33[SPEAKER_02]: of the past place against them, they go for 20 yards or more that's second in the league, Seattle's number one.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: And the run game, the 40 matters are, number one, 3.6% of the opponent runs of gone for 10 yards or more.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: That is number one, explosive runs.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: Which, that one shocked me because they didn't get an off the field.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: And it feels like they didn't gash sometimes in the run game.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: But I guess that's part of Men But Don't Break.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: But the reason I brought all this up was that second stat.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_02]: Brock Perti.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_02]: is a big reason why the Niners are number three in explosive runs.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: Listen to this.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_02]: Brock has nine QB runs.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_02]: Four of them have been over 10 yards.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm calling that an explosive.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think it should be, I don't think it should be 15 for a run game explosive.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: But number one of the lead quarterback explosive run 10 yard or more, Lamar Jackson, he has seven.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: Jane Nails has five.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_02]: And Brock Perti is tied with Josh Allen, Caleb Williams, who of course is missed a game and change now.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: with four.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_02]: So that's, that's your, those are your running quarterback so far in the NFL is your scramble yards.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: Brock Perti has 91 yards on six scramble's.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_02]: He is second in the NFL and scramble yards behind Jane Daniels.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: It was 98.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: Brock Perti has one more scramble yard than Lamar Jackson does.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: In the middle of the bar's got 90.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_02]: And lastly, yards per carry.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_02]: Take out kneel downs.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_02]: Brock is 10.44 yards per carry.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's nine carries for 94 yards.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: Number one, Lamar Jackson is 9.07 yards per carry.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: On more runs, of course, but
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, so why is it not a run game explosive?
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's been better.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Christians have been explosive.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_02]: Caleb Black has been explosive, but why isn't rank so high?
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: Brock Party.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, let's talk about trades.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_02]: Are there good trade candidates out there?
- 17:44[SPEAKER_02]: The one we all talked about before the year was Max Crosby, but entering this week, the Raiders are three and oh.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: Now, the Raiders next four games before the trade deadline are very difficult.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_02]: Five games actually before the trade deadline.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_02]: The next four are very difficult.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: They got Kansas City this week.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_02]: They go to New England.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_02]: which doesn't look quite the way it looked at the beginning of the year, but tough game, they play buffalo at home, then they play the Rams at home.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_02]: So you could say this for everybody, you could say it for the knife, I'm gonna say it for the writers, you got to say it for everybody, including the Niners.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_02]: a lot of work still to be done right now they are not trending towards trading max cross be a and b would they even trade them if they made them available they would have very interested parties uh... the niner's like the niner's first round pick you know this pace if they're looking to get max cross is going to be great you would figure the raiders will have some other options and the report was i think it were poor rumor whatever that what's upon the time the niner's wanted
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: and the Raiders traded them for a little bit less.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, I think it'd be pretty hard to get max.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like the Raiders, if no one else was trying to offer anything that I was offering a great deal, then maybe, but it feels like,
- 19:03[SPEAKER_02]: somebody else would be offering something.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Jared verse looks amazing, not available, you know, Miles Garrett, you just think I'm not saying you trade from out scared.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying you just try to think about like, who are the elite pass rushers and who's available?
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: Well,
- 19:19[SPEAKER_02]: Brian Burns plays at MetLife State him, unfortunately.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: And he tours ACL and it turns out as a lateral meniscus on the field over the weekend.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_02]: So Brian Burns at the Giants, you then go to cave on, Tibudo, and you know, you don't love that option.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_02]: Art and key, Josh Uche, who the nine or saw for the dolphin to play for New England last year, good player, first year Miami, and already it feels like it's available.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_02]: And then of course, we get to Thursday night football.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_02]: where we saw the Steelers' blues, we saw the Aaron Rogers' Mike McCarthy dynamic, we saw TJ Wat, getting very upset.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_02]: And remember, there were some, I don't know if rumors is the right word, but discussions like in the public sphere, whether or not the Niners and the Steelers ever talked about Alex Heismeth, I don't know, but TJ Wat or Alex Heismeth feels like,
- 20:19[SPEAKER_02]: So, they just traded Joey Porter.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_02]: These guys, one of them at least, maybe both could be available soon depending on how things go for Pittsburgh.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_02]: So, what is the price gonna be on TJ what?
- 20:34[SPEAKER_02]: What one person in the league suggested to me?
- 20:37[SPEAKER_02]: They said, you're not getting it without a one.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_02]: Makes sense.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe a one and a two.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_02]: You know, one and a three feels a little light, but,
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: You know, maybe a one and a two and something else or swap, but you're going to have to go up a first.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: And at minimum a third, but I, you know, I think a one of the two sounds right.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: The issue, you know, he turns 33 years old in October.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_02]: He is still a very good player.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_02]: He has 32 million dollars guaranteed next year.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's not, you know, that's not what comes to mind.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_02]: But he's had nothing guaranteed in 2028.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going up a first round pick for an older player who might be a one and a half year player.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: Now, you could argue, you're trying to win a championship.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: No doubt the knives have tried, like the Michael thing will see great news that he's back practicing and can can come back after this week's game, Ramello height waiting still early, but waiting, you're not expecting either of those guys to be Boca, you know, Alex Heismith to me is the most intriguing because it doesn't take a first round pick.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_02]: I was suggested to me by the same person, a two-and-a-four, maybe a two-and-a-three.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: He turns, he is 29.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_02]: and that happened in August.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, he's basically like four years younger than TJ Wat, what's the problem with Alex Heismeth?
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: He's not been durable the last two years.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_02]: Last year he missed three games with a high ankle sprain, things happened.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_02]: The year before he missed three games with an ankle injury and three other games with a groin injury,
- 22:18[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, if the Niners had their choice, they're giving up a two and a three or a one and a two, you know, they wouldn't want to give up the one and the two, but you think about this organization's history, I would think they would like the idea T.J. want, just based on when they make moves, they first target the best player they can get.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_02]: Who is the best guy out there?
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: and you know, that guy would be T.J. Watt.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: But I think Alex Highsmith would also be a welcome addition.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_02]: I love the idea of not adding.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not a, I'm not an ageist here.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: But it's a 29 year-old, it feels a little better than a 33 year-old, but that 33 year-old's TJWAT, and that's a pretty damn good player.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: So those are some of the names.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: There's just not like a pre-mo pass rush you're out there.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: The reality is if you want Nick Bosa, you got to draft them really high, and it's really hard to do that.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: And the candidate would be well now Brian Burns got traded and Miles Garic got traded and Jared verse got traded and Jared verse was not a top five pick so it's true.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_02]: You can get it's just so hard to get those guys that you're not really looking for both the replacements they don't really exist but those are the numbers.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think the other thing is interesting with the Raiders
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: It feels to me at this pace, like the writer, you know, is talking about their schedule.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: If they lose those games, then what I'm about to say is a non-starter.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_02]: But what if the writers keep winning?
- 24:03[SPEAKER_02]: Or at least win half of those next four games, those are really good games.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_02]: If they win two of the next four, that means they've beaten either two of these Kansas City, New England, Buffalo, the Rams.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_02]: And after that ram game, Ram's game, which is week seven, the NFL has to make the call on whether or not they will flex the week.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_02]: If I have these dates wrong, Josh, do value AP will correct me, but from what I think it's 12 days on Sunday night flexes, they don't really do it.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_02]: They maybe once a year it feels like there's a Sunday night flex, but the Sunday night game
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: The bucks are only three, the bears are two and one, and it's an exciting two and one, and you got to figure Caleb's back, Caleb Williams is back by then.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_02]: So to me, like, a 500-raders team doesn't get you flexed.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_02]: The bears are such a big draw.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_02]: Even if the bucks are not any good, the bears are just a massive draw.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_02]: And the unfiltered feel fine.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_02]: I would imagine, and we see what you'll find about keeping the bears on site in a night football.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_02]: But,
- 25:09[SPEAKER_02]: if the Raiders are the 2026 darlings over the NFL.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_02]: And they are just like, they've beaten Kansas City, they've beaten Buffalo, it's like, oh my God, I feel
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: that the rate this is not like I don't mean this like I would prefer I mean the raiders return to the area if they're rolling and there are big story and the nineers are kicking ass that came kind of disservice to be under the lights doesn't that deserve a Sunday night football
- 25:41[SPEAKER_02]: But it's going to be tough.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: It could be tougher.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: There's there been, you know, it's, it's the bears are just hard.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard to take the bears out of Sunday night and, you know, there's a, there's a long way to go before that game justifies it.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, right now, they're both three and out.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, as you know, the Niners do have a set, the Niners do have a set, the Niners are what five games in Primetime right now, and weeks 17 at home against the Eagles, is a Sunday night game, and that also feels like such a great Sunday night under the lights Primetime game.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_02]: All right, I wanted to share something I learned last week.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: I told you, I had her brain and cooks was really good in Buffalo, and then I went and watched it, it was true.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: Brain and cooks was really good in Buffalo.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll see, it's trending right now towards Brain and Cook's playing for the 49ers on Sunday.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_02]: By the time you're watching this, maybe we know the answer, but then they side down, tape at us.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: And Dante is interesting because obviously it's been an honor.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, Dante has played more games with the 40 matters.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: It probably doesn't feel this way.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_02]: I was surprised when I looked at it.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's played more games with the 90s than anybody else.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_02]: But here's what I heard about Dante, Pettis, who was also a bill.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_02]: Brandon Cooks was not a bill this year, but Pettis was in camp with the bills this year.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: And what I heard was that it was actually a really impressive camp.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_02]: And he was physical, he was tough.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: and he made explosive plays down the field.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, when Kyle says we tried him out, we were thinking about receivers anyway, he was among the guys we brought in.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_02]: I was not surprised when I heard that about Dante, that, you know, he was good enough for them to sign.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_02]: Dante has the college football record for punk return touchdowns, which is nine.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_02]: I called his eighth,
- 27:35[SPEAKER_02]: Punt returned for a touchdown in college football.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_02]: It was Washington hosting Montana.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_02]: I hadn't forgotten about the play, but somebody posted like Dante Petters, I like real.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_02]: Just a college real, the other day you might see this, and it was the second clip, and I was like, oh yeah, that's right, he does have that record.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_02]: Now, the 49ers, as you may or may not know, have not returned a kick or a punt.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_02]: for a touchdown in forever.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_02]: The 49ers have not returned a kick for a touchdown in 137 games, the drought is 137 games entering this week.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's almost eight years since they returned to kick for a touchdown.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_02]: Richie James did it against Seattle back on November 16th, 2018 and a 97 yard kick off
- 28:30[SPEAKER_02]: The punt return drought is even longer.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_02]: The 49ers have not returned to punt return for a touchdown.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_02]: In 15 years, about 15 years in a month, actually, that drought is, I think it's not 200, I've got all you have it updated in my board for this week, but it's 270 games, is that drought.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: Some 10 or 11, 2011, against Seattle.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_02]: We've talked about this one a few times.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: It was Ted Ginn, Ted Ginn, also returned to punt.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_02]: You return to punt for a touchdown and a kick for a touchdown.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: like 55 seconds apart in John Lynch was on the call for that game, that was hard-bought and Pete Carroll.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I think Jacob County's a better part return or the Dante Pettis, so I'm not saying Dante is gonna be the guy to do that, but, you know, it's just something to be aware of him, and maybe on the kick Debo, maybe Debo might pull it off.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_02]: Debo's been, well, you really think about it.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_02]: Debo now is had,
- 29:27[SPEAKER_02]: What, two explosive plays and three, well, by the 20 yard margin, it's more.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_02]: But like kind of game-changing, Debo plays, you know, the kickoff return to start the second half against the Rams and then the touchdown on the ADR hook and ladder roll against the Cardinals.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_02]: So those are some notes, things to watch for, this week, potential trades coming up,
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: watch for Brock Perti's explosiveness in the run game.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's why the Niners have one of the reasons why the Niners have been so explosive in the run game.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'll talk to y'all soon later.
