- 0:01Speaker 2: You were gone for a couple of weeks, entirely too long.
- 0:04Speaker 2: And uh so we've heard some of the stories of
- 0:07Speaker 2: your travels.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Were probably a couple of weeks, a lot of stories.
- 0:12Speaker 2: But I did want to know about when you got back.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I don't think you ever told us you were worried
- 0:17Speaker 2: that your dog would have would have forgotten you, And
- 0:20Speaker 2: I said, no, he'll be so excited.
- 0:22Speaker 3: He was so excited that now he's the the separation
- 0:26Speaker 3: anxiety is worsened.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Now.
- 0:29Speaker 3: When I leave for work every morning, he thinks you're
- 0:32Speaker 3: going for two weeks. He thinks I'm leaving for two weeks,
- 0:34Speaker 3: and so he'll sit by the garage door and cry.
- 0:38Speaker 1: H so once and Daddy will always come home. Uh,
- 0:45Speaker 1: it's well.
- 0:45Speaker 3: But he was happy to see you, he was he
- 0:47Speaker 3: was happy to see that's good. And yeah, he remembered us. Well,
- 0:51Speaker 3: he barked at first, but then he.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Went, so anything you know must you must have other things. Well,
- 1:00Speaker 2: it's about your travel.
- 1:00Speaker 3: You know, what do you do when you go to
- 1:02Speaker 3: a foreign country. You know you want to you want
- 1:06Speaker 3: to dive right into the culture. Sure, you want to
- 1:08Speaker 3: participate and immerse yourself. Right, So we so we went
- 1:12Speaker 3: to Costco.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Now what.
- 1:17Speaker 1: To get liquor? To get liquor? Well, to get liquor, yes, oh, because.
- 1:21Speaker 4: You were in an airbnb's. Yeah, groceries were something that
- 1:24Speaker 4: you could. The thing is, though the liquor was pretty affordable.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Everything was so affordable.
- 1:29Speaker 3: This is this is where the talk of the American
- 1:31Speaker 3: markup came up over and over and over again, because
- 1:35Speaker 3: you'd find the same item that you would get an
- 1:37Speaker 3: America and go that costs a lot more at home.
- 1:41Speaker 1: The American markup. Somebody's got to get rich our bottom line,
- 1:44Speaker 1: you know. Anyway, so we went to Costco.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Here's the thing about the Costco in uh in Korea.
- 1:51Speaker 1: They had wine tastings.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Oh yeah yeah, walking through the liquor section, and may
- 1:57Speaker 3: you have your anxiety at Costco?
- 1:59Speaker 1: That would help help your anxiety. My anxiety from Costco
- 2:02Speaker 1: is when I'm pushing a cart. I've determined that specifically.
- 2:05Speaker 3: It's if I'm pushing the cart at Costco, then I
- 2:08Speaker 3: get anxiety.
- 2:08Speaker 1: But if I'm just walking through, I'm good.
- 2:11Speaker 3: And of course when you're traveling with through, he's always hungry.
- 2:15Speaker 3: And so what did he do? He ordered a pizza
- 2:18Speaker 3: at Costco. You're in Korea and you're having pizza.
- 2:23Speaker 1: But at least it was a Bulgogi pizza, so it
- 2:26Speaker 1: was yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 3: But they give you, you know, actual forks and knives
- 2:30Speaker 3: and all of that.
- 2:31Speaker 1: But you have to.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Separate your food, waste, your drink, waist, your forks, knives, spoons,
- 2:35Speaker 3: all of that stuff.
- 2:36Speaker 1: The recycling is insane.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Do they have the same sort of the same stuff
- 2:40Speaker 2: at the food court the hot dog?
- 2:42Speaker 1: Yeah, they had the hot dog in the beverage and
- 2:44Speaker 1: the chicken bake yep, all of that. It's the same
- 2:47Speaker 1: the world over there. So you know, we were there
- 2:49Speaker 1: to get some some face masks. This makeup stuff. Oh
- 2:53Speaker 1: you was buying a bunch of that for well.
- 2:54Speaker 4: The Korean skincare stuff is like the best in the world.
- 2:58Speaker 1: It's all about skin care in Korea. That's what they do.
- 3:02Speaker 1: That's that's their thing.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Now on the we got Starbucks here in America. On
- 3:06Speaker 3: their corners, they have a store called Olive Young, which
- 3:11Speaker 3: is usually three floors is that a person's name, I
- 3:13Speaker 3: don't know, three floors of just skincare stuff. They are
- 3:17Speaker 3: all about the scar and there was we were in
- 3:20Speaker 3: there looking for some sunscreen for me, and there was
- 3:24Speaker 3: a K pop group there and I don't know if
- 3:26Speaker 3: it's racist or not, but each K pop member had
- 3:28Speaker 3: their own shade of sunscreen to blend in with their
- 3:32Speaker 3: skin color.
- 3:33Speaker 4: I think that's handy, you know, it's not racists. And
- 3:36Speaker 4: because you want like a tinted skincare so you can
- 3:40Speaker 4: use it kind of like make up.
- 3:41Speaker 3: And I'm a tory, apparently I could see that. I
- 3:44Speaker 3: don't know which yeah band it.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Was, but no, we went to the.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Uh Jigachi market, which is the largest fish market in
- 3:52Speaker 3: South Korea. And let's get a look at the tanks.
- 3:56Speaker 3: I sent a picture to Katie for our YouTube channel.
- 3:59Speaker 3: So those are just tanks of live fish, octopus crabs
- 4:05Speaker 3: crawling out, you know, I mean, let me and uh,
- 4:09Speaker 3: what's what's great about these places is each you know section,
- 4:15Speaker 3: they are mostly identical, but they're all individually owned and
- 4:18Speaker 3: operated by families, and so you you know, you go in,
- 4:23Speaker 3: you take a look at who's got some nice octopus today?
- 4:26Speaker 2: You know.
- 4:27Speaker 1: But the advantage that this guy had over me, he
- 4:30Speaker 1: spotted me right away. I mean, yeah, the.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Next picture that we're going to show, this guy spotted
- 4:40Speaker 3: me right away.
- 4:41Speaker 1: And he spoke English, and so he was. He was.
- 4:45Speaker 1: He was wheeling and dealing. Do you care for a crab?
- 4:48Speaker 3: That crab was huge and was crawling out of the tank.
- 4:55Speaker 3: And what's great about it is, he says, I got
- 4:57Speaker 3: some nice lobsters here today.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I got these. You know what, I can prepare them
- 5:03Speaker 1: any way you'd like.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Your wife's gonna send some skin masks to work with
- 5:07Speaker 4: you to give to me.
- 5:09Speaker 1: So I forgot that.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I'm supposed to bring. I think I was supposed to.
- 5:13Speaker 2: So so you could you just eat it right there?
- 5:16Speaker 3: Uh No, What you do is you pick what you want,
- 5:19Speaker 3: whether it's you know, that crab, for example, tell him
- 5:22Speaker 3: how you want it cooked, and then he'll say, okay,
- 5:25Speaker 3: go upstairs.
- 5:26Speaker 1: There's a table up there. They'll be waiting for you.
- 5:29Speaker 1: You wait there, we'll bring it up as soon as
- 5:30Speaker 1: it's ready.
- 5:32Speaker 3: So that's how fresh the seafood is. And that crab
- 5:37Speaker 3: was delicious.
- 5:38Speaker 1: You did have it.
- 5:39Speaker 3: I did eat that crab, said, sorry, buddy, I admire
- 5:43Speaker 3: your tenacity trying to.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Escape, but just to have butter with it.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it was just he just steamed it and it
- 5:51Speaker 3: was delicious, and you know, so it's it's kind of
- 5:54Speaker 3: kind of interesting to walk through a place like that
- 5:56Speaker 3: and decide who lives and who dies.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Really, but we also had the live octopus.
- 6:02Speaker 3: And uh and and that was one of the best
- 6:04Speaker 3: crabs that I've ever had. And I was so surprised
- 6:07Speaker 3: that my youngest nieces are so good about eating anything,
- 6:12Speaker 3: anythings that are real exotic and and the the octopus
- 6:15Speaker 3: was still, you know, kind of flopping around a little bit.
- 6:18Speaker 1: They're okay with that, ived right in.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Man, I won't I won't eat those guys anymore. They're
- 6:23Speaker 2: too smart.
- 6:24Speaker 1: They are because you watch that movie.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Yeah, my octopus teacher or student or whatever it was,
- 6:30Speaker 2: as a guy who went to school with an octopus.
- 6:32Speaker 1: They sat and they sat in depth to each other,
- 6:34Speaker 1: side by side. He kept dip dipping the octopuses tentacles
- 6:37Speaker 1: in the ink.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Well, but yeah, that was That was just one of
- 6:42Speaker 3: the many different things that.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Somebody says, Korean costco is great, but the hot dogs
- 6:47Speaker 4: are not the same.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Well, sure they're not. I'm gonna get me one of
- 6:52Speaker 3: these Korean shower heads.
- 6:55Speaker 1: What's different about those? Are they as good as the toilets?
- 6:58Speaker 2: I got to ask the larcen guys about out there
- 7:00Speaker 2: you use them for different stuff, you know.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I gotta ask.
- 7:04Speaker 3: I got to ask the Larsen guys about this because
- 7:06Speaker 3: they have in the handle they're you know, they're the
- 7:08Speaker 3: ones where had held ones. But it's such this fine spray, right,
- 7:12Speaker 3: this is perfect, but they have filters in the handle.
- 7:16Speaker 1: That you have to change. So I'm like, I wonder
- 7:18Speaker 1: if that's going to be a problem. So I have
- 7:21Speaker 1: to talk to him about it.
- 7:22Speaker 3: H Yeah, Oh Korean Korean fried chicken. We had that
- 7:26Speaker 3: as well when we were Oh man, I've heard that
- 7:29Speaker 3: you don't pick out your chicken. Though there's no live
- 7:33Speaker 3: chicken at the seafood market.
- 7:35Speaker 1: No, I'd like to see that chicken swimming. Can you
- 7:38Speaker 1: get can you get Korean style fried chicken? Here? Somewhere?
- 7:41Speaker 3: There is a place that comes really close, and it's
- 7:44Speaker 3: a chain that's based out of southern California.
- 7:47Speaker 1: They're not quite where they need to be.
- 7:49Speaker 3: As soon as I find a good one, I'll let
- 7:51Speaker 3: you know if you promise not to tell anybody, Okay,
- 7:54Speaker 3: I want to keep it a secret.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Somebody says, carry I had a crab like that in
- 7:58Speaker 4: Alaska last summer.
- 7:59Speaker 3: It was life change. It was really damn good, I'll
- 8:02Speaker 3: be honest with it.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Didn't need anything.
- 8:04Speaker 3: It was that delicious. It didn't need butter, salt, any
- 8:07Speaker 3: of that stuff. It was just right out of the shell.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Crack it open, eat it, and they get it all
- 8:12Speaker 3: cracked open for you, or they cut they cut the
- 8:14Speaker 3: majority of it for you so that you can get
- 8:16Speaker 3: into it. But yeah, and it's a Busan is where
- 8:20Speaker 3: that seafood work.
- 8:21Speaker 1: It is just so you know, all right, run by zombies.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Yes, now that what we learned is that the train
- 8:28Speaker 3: to Busan is actually a sushi a sushi train, and
- 8:31Speaker 3: you shouldn't fear it.
- 8:33Speaker 1: It's actually rather nice
