- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherri Mackey, and it's time for us to
- 0:02Speaker 1: go to God in prayer. And as always, I invite
- 0:05Speaker 1: you to join along with me in prayer. And I
- 0:08Speaker 1: want to remind you today that your sins, your mistakes
- 0:12Speaker 1: are not greater than God's grace. Let's pray, y'all. Father God,
- 0:17Speaker 1: in the name of Jesus, we come before you today
- 0:19Speaker 1: with open hearts asking you to search us. God, examine us.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Reveal anything in us that's not pleasing in your sight. Lord,
- 0:27Speaker 1: your word declares in 1 John 1 and 9, if
- 0:30Speaker 1: we confess our sins, you're faithful and just to forgive
- 0:33Speaker 1: us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So, Father,
- 0:36Speaker 1: we thank you that we don't have to hide from
- 0:39Speaker 1: you when we've fallen short. We don't have to pretend
- 0:42Speaker 1: to be perfect when we made mistakes. We don't have
- 0:45Speaker 1: to run away from your presence because of our failures.
- 0:48Speaker 1: We can come boldly before your throne of grace, confess
- 0:51Speaker 1: our sins and receive your mercy. Lord, forgive us for
- 0:55Speaker 1: the things we've done that we knew were wrong and
- 0:58Speaker 1: forgive us for the things we failed to recognize. Forgive
- 1:03Speaker 1: us for the words we spoke out of anger, the
- 1:05Speaker 1: thoughts we entertained in secret, the attitudes we allowed. to
- 1:10Speaker 1: take root and the moments when pride, jealousy, bitterness, or
- 1:14Speaker 1: unforgiveness controlled our hearts. Forgive us for the times we
- 1:19Speaker 1: knew what was right, but we chose what was convenient.
- 1:22Speaker 1: My God, forgive us for the times we judged others
- 1:25Speaker 1: while ignoring our own shortcomings. Forgive us for the times
- 1:29Speaker 1: we allowed fear, frustration, or selfishness to lead us instead
- 1:34Speaker 1: of your spirit. Father, we don't want to become comfortable
- 1:38Speaker 1: with the very things that separate us from your best
- 1:41Speaker 1: for our lives. Give us hearts that are quick to repent,
- 1:44Speaker 1: humble enough to admit when we're wrong and willing to
- 1:48Speaker 1: make the changes necessary to walk in your righteousness. And Lord,
- 1:52Speaker 1: when the enemy tries to use our past to condemn us,
- 1:55Speaker 1: remind us that conviction draws us toward you, but condemnation
- 2:00Speaker 1: tries to drive us away from you. Your mercy is greater.
- 2:04Speaker 1: than our mistakes. Your grace is greater than our shame.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Wash us, Lord. Cleanse our hearts. Renew our minds. Purify
- 2:11Speaker 1: our motives. Break the patterns that keep pulling us backward.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Give us the strength not only to ask for forgiveness,
- 2:19Speaker 1: but to turn away from the things that wounded our
- 2:22Speaker 1: hearts and harmed others. Your word declares in Psalms 51 10,
- 2:26Speaker 1: create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew
- 2:29Speaker 1: a right spirit within me. That is our prayer today. Father,
- 2:33Speaker 1: don't just change our circumstances. Change us. Don't just forgive
- 2:38Speaker 1: our actions. Transform our hearts. Thank you that our worst
- 2:42Speaker 1: mistakes don't have to become our final chapter. Thank you
- 2:46Speaker 1: that repentance opens the door for restoration, that forgiveness brings freedom,
- 2:51Speaker 1: and that your love continues to call us closer to you. Oh, today, God,
- 2:55Speaker 1: we receive your forgiveness. We release our shame. We surrender
- 2:59Speaker 1: our pride in God. We choose to walk forward in obedience, humility,
- 3:04Speaker 1: and gratitude. Lord, thank you for loving us enough to
- 3:06Speaker 1: correct us. Thank you, Lord, for forgiving us when we repent.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Thank you, Lord, for giving us the grace to begin again.
- 3:13Speaker 1: In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen, amen,
- 3:17Speaker 1: and amen.
