St. Louis County’s landfill is now a regional waste hub, accepting trash from four new counties after Wisconsin’s Moccasin Mike closed — and Koochiching County is joining too. Since opening in 1993, it’s already served most of St. Louis County plus parts of Resource Renew. County Chair Mike Jugovich calls it a “true regional solid waste solution,” stressing environmental responsibility.
