KAZAKHSTAN’S FIRST WILD HORSE FOAL
Przewalski’s horses are the last genuinely wild horses left on Earth. Every one alive today descends from roughly 11 individuals documented by a Russian geographer in Mongolia in 1881. The species vanished from the wild entirely by 1960, surviving only in zoos. Reintroduction efforts began rebuilding wild populations in Mongolia and China in the 1990s.
