Heat Wave Hits Central NC | Fayetteville News
Central North Carolina is under a serious heat wave with temperatures soaring past 105°F and even hitting 109°F in some areas south of Raleigh. A fifth consecutive heat advisory is in effect, with another one set for Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Counties including Johnston, Moore, Lee, Harnett, Wayne, Hoke, Cumberland, and Sampson are covered. The National Weather Service warns of dangerous heat-humidity combos that can cause heat-related illnesses — stay hydrated, seek air conditioning, avoid direct sun, and check on vulnerable neighbors.
