- 6:59[SPEAKER_04]: Good afternoon around the air.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, nobody there.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_04]: That was a hoax call.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_04]: That was a hoax.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_04]: lots of things going on uh... what are we talking about today uh... i was arguing with somebody today about credit card processing fees sending a billy city and they listen as a convenience fee let me tell you something from people resent that being put on the bill and then there's a people say just james says it's the illegal well the matter whether it is not
- 7:33[SPEAKER_04]: It's part of the, part of the cost of doing business.

- 7:51[SPEAKER_04]: All of those across the doing business are in corporate, and credit card processing is one of them.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_04]: So when I hear these people say, complain about it, I wouldn't even...
- 8:02[SPEAKER_04]: It's part of the cost, get over it.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_04]: Um, oh, we got a call.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_04]: Good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_07]: Hey, Jeff, the, uh, angry man got something right again.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_04]: What's that?
- 8:15[SPEAKER_07]: So the pride people on June 1st between 6 and 8 are going to be at City Hall.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_07]: Uh-huh.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, for out protesting, wanting them to raise the pride flag again.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_04]: Well, Council made its decision.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_04]: I'm inclined to say, leave it at that and celebrate Pride Month and not make it political.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_07]: Do you know they're passing around a petition to get this change?
- 8:42[SPEAKER_07]: Is a petition going to work for them?
- 8:45[SPEAKER_04]: You know, if I knew any of the people involved in an, I'd say, stop, just enjoy whatever events you have planned.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_04]: And don't become a political chip on your shoulders.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_04]: I don't care oh my god it's just I got bigger thing you know America's 250th birthday is coming up
- 9:08[SPEAKER_04]: People should be concerned, I ordered some bunting today for the bar.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_04]: You know, yeah, because most people don't do that.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_04]: You know that on Pearl Street in a 500 block, there's three flags, the lady next door as one, the guy across the street and I both have poles.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_04]: That's more flags than on all of I've street and Lumestrive combined.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_04]: So I mean, I'm sick of hearing about these people with their novelty flags, put the damn American flag up this month.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_07]: Amen.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_07]: Thank you, Jeff.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_04]: Hi, thank you.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_04]: There.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah, I did.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_04]: Because I think, you know, put up the bunting around flag day through July 4th.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_04]: It's time I set a question, tell me all the 250th anniversary.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_04]: I know they're not, I know they don't teach that in the schools.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_04]: And,
- 10:00[SPEAKER_04]: It's just the way it is.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_04]: But we as older Americans can be proud of the country and get a damn flag out for the 250th anniversary.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_04]: There's anybody who doesn't is a jerk.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_04]: And don't give me your razzmataz about who are those countries?
- 10:18[SPEAKER_04]: No, you don't.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_04]: If you don't have a flag, you don't love the country.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, seven, five, five, 12, 40 of the phone number.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_04]: If you'd like to give us a call to be on the air today,
- 10:31[SPEAKER_04]: uh... the village i mean on forci the america be there because he was down to new or conference of mayors meeting boulton slanding your all many but anyway they had this uh... event put on by and then he constant he know the sticker me over any for congress in the june primary against robber smullin
- 10:54[SPEAKER_04]: and some people showed up and I got a little coverage on the news that's great he's holding events this weekend tomorrow that saturday twelve to two with the uh... boondocks restaurant and lions falls in the was county the boondocks twelve to two saturday and three to five at the Hoover in up in heaven's mills yeah which is part of the district two so i think that's great and you know
- 11:21[SPEAKER_04]: It's important that Mr. Constantine, he's new to politics.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_04]: And I've talked to people who have met him.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_04]: He's got to get more work on the people's skills.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_04]: He's got to talk to Roger or somebody, because people want to support him.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_04]: But he's kind of politically awkward early on.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_04]: So he's got to get to that point where you can really just smooth.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_04]: And maybe you say that's funny, but it's part of politics.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, go greet him, tomorrow 12 to 2 at the boondocks and lions falls and 3 to 5 at the Hooverian in Evans Mills.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_04]: I'm working then.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_04]: I have to produce economic development for Jefferson County in that period tomorrow.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_04]: Generate sales tax revenue.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_04]: There you go.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_04]: Well, let's see somebody wrote in something snide, I think.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_09]: Mm-hmm.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_04]: Well, here we go, Mayor Pears has a something for them.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_04]: God bless her.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_04]: That she's listening to me.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_04]: She's looking for people to tell her why you're proud to be an American.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_04]: You have to be a city resident.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_04]: Can I enter them?
- 12:41[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want the prize, but... Well, good for her.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_04]: But why isn't the press release sitting on my table here?
- 12:51[SPEAKER_04]: Now, local children and teens can participate in this, but for her, you can submit artwork and essay your poem, why I'm proud to be an American, and when a prize?
- 13:08[SPEAKER_04]: Speaking of prizes, speaking of
- 13:12[SPEAKER_04]: Here's something that was not reported by the Main Street Media.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_04]: I get a call yesterday from Merrick Dugel, from Governor who are the life-saver mayor.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_04]: And he's down at the New York Conference of Mayors, annual meeting, being held at the Sagamore Resort in Bolton's landing, building it to the village, of course.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_04]: But that's why he works for nothing.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_04]: He deserves a trip over a year.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not here to comment on that.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, he says, the mayor was here and she got an award for the refuse removal.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_04]: I said, what?
- 13:45[SPEAKER_04]: What are you talking about?
- 13:46[SPEAKER_04]: So I did some searching and looking around and apparently it wasn't the mayor.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_04]: He was confused, but it was some other.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_04]: Somebody else representing the city, apparently at this event at the Sagamore, they put a big thing out of all it, you know, for a prize, what was the prize?
- 14:02[SPEAKER_04]: What was that prize?
- 14:09[SPEAKER_04]: Local achievement award for 2026 went to the City of Watertown for the redesign and implementation of new refuse routes, that's nice.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_04]: The recognition highlights the positive impact of these improvements, so says the mayor, as well as the commitment to modernization and efficiency within DPW refuse.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_04]: And the city overall, well, great.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_04]: Now, a lot of people say you're stirring the pot,
- 14:38[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_04]: A couple weeks ago, three weeks for me, whatever, there was always discussion about getting rid of the refuse service.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_04]: Not generated by me, I didn't generate it, said he counseled and the third floor did.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_04]: And now all of a sudden, while they were talking about getting rid of refuse, they were submitting an application to the New York Conference of Mayors to get an award for what they were doing that some of them wanted to get rid of.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_04]: Does it make sense?
- 15:08[SPEAKER_04]: Is there irony involved?
- 15:11[SPEAKER_04]: So I called former Congress, former Councilwoman Reseros, she said it's laughable.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_04]: We love the refuse department and the job, but this is not critical of the refuse department, but how can you be debating eliminating the program while you are applying to win a prize?
- 15:30[SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, they get this, whatever it is,
- 15:37[SPEAKER_04]: And down in at the Sagamore, which is a nice place, I've been there.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, they back in my heyday.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_04]: They introduced Mayor Pears, but it wasn't Mayor Pears who came up, picked up the award, which is fine if somebody else had to, but who picked up the award and who submitted the request for the reward?
- 15:59[SPEAKER_04]: And what are they going to do to acknowledge the job of refuse workers here?
- 16:05[SPEAKER_04]: And when's the local news going to report on this?
- 16:11[SPEAKER_04]: They were all busy out there reporting on all the way they might end trash service.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_04]: They might end the trash service.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_04]: But then when the city gets an award for running the trash service, the media is like crickets.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_04]: Is it the media?
- 16:27[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_04]: I find out.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_04]: I sort of.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_04]: If it weren't for the esteemed mayor of the life-saver mayor, we never would have known.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_04]: But I congratulate the men and women and your standards women are on the force in refuse removal for the job they do.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_04]: But me congratulate them because no one else is going to.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_04]: And they do a great job.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_04]: And yes, we all believe the service can be better marketed.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's we don't want to turn it all all over to waste management or pick and go or something.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_04]: And there is that a new story, isn't it?
- 17:09[SPEAKER_04]: The fact that the city got a local achievement of war, isn't newsworthy?
- 17:14[SPEAKER_04]: Some people say, no, that's during the fight.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_04]: You shouldn't talk about that.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_04]: I say it's news.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_04]: Where's the news?
- 17:22[SPEAKER_04]: Was it on the news today?
- 17:23[SPEAKER_04]: No, it was.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I gave the information to John Moore.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_04]: Some more information.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_04]: Apparently there was a meeting in Canton last night.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_04]: That's the St. Lawrence County.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_04]: And the local Republican Committee of St. Lawrence County voted to fire the longtime election commissioner recommend firing to the board, to the legislature.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_04]: County alleged actually appoints the person.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_04]: That didn't make the news either.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_04]: I should have been, you know, I think I would have been a great assignment editor, probably haven't got the looks to go on the air anymore, but I would have been a great assignment editor.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_04]: Because I think that's news too, guys, 19 years as the election commissioner and a vote to sack him on a Thursday night up in Canton.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_04]: Oh well, let's see, what else is going on?
- 18:24[SPEAKER_04]: President will be back from China, around dinner time, you know.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_04]: First question to last is, are you tired and then they'll run stories about his failing health?
- 18:37[SPEAKER_04]: Like yesterday, the got your question on the airplane was, is President Xi a dictator?
- 18:50[SPEAKER_04]: He is what he is.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_04]: He's a president of China.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, they have a different system of government.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_04]: But so what?
- 18:59[SPEAKER_04]: You got to get along with him.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_04]: Got to get along with him.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think that trip accomplished much.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_04]: I think it was too short.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_04]: Two days.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_04]: I would have spent five or six days there, go visit the wall, do other things, and all of that stuff.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_04]: And here's the woman who's bent
- 19:20[SPEAKER_04]: All right, she's been to the Great Wall restaurant on Massey Street, Miller Smith, how are you?
- 19:25[SPEAKER_24]: Good, how are you?
- 19:26[SPEAKER_04]: Call the microphone over.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, sorry.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_04]: All right, listen, you're coming in to cause trouble.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_24]: I guess.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_04]: All right, well, let me do a commercial and you think I've got some trouble.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_14]: All right, thanks.

- 23:21[SPEAKER_14]: Don't you eat the news and talk authority.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_04]: All right, Miller Smith is here.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_04]: What's on your mind today?
- 23:30[SPEAKER_24]: Oh, lots of things are on.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_04]: I guess.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, when are you going to cough up the video of your incident with the cops?
- 23:36[SPEAKER_24]: So I'll give everyone a status update on that.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_24]: So we had a court hearing again on May 8th.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_24]: And again, they weren't willing to immediately drop the charges they wanted me to take a 24 hour, I forget with the acronym ADC or what I don't remember.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, for 24 hours, I was like, absolutely not.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_04]: Doing what?
- 23:58[SPEAKER_24]: I have no idea.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_24]: So for 24 hours, if I didn't do anything wrong, they wanted an adjournment and contemplation of the dismissal.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_04]: And they made a 24 hour fuse on it.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_24]: Exactly.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_04]: Instead of six months.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_24]: Exactly.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_04]: That's a bad deal.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, that's a stupid deal.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_24]: So we said no.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_24]: So now we have to go back to court another day.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_04]: But why don't you?
- 24:17[SPEAKER_04]: I haven't had so many people who said they saw the video and I haven't.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_24]: So, so, so first of all.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_04]: Show it to me.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_24]: Well,
- 24:22[SPEAKER_24]: Jeff, you know better than that.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_24]: I don't have the jurisdiction to say that.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_24]: But why don't we say something else?
- 24:28[SPEAKER_24]: Why hasn't the city put out their body cam video?
- 24:31[SPEAKER_04]: Because they specializing cover up.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_24]: Of course.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_24]: So we're even there.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_04]: We're even there.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, we got somebody calling in.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_04]: Good afternoon around the air.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, Millie.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, go ahead.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_05]: Did you hear me there?
- 24:45[SPEAKER_04]: Can you hear him?
- 24:45[SPEAKER_05]: I can't hear him.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_04]: Can you hear him now?
- 24:47[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, go ahead.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_05]: outside pressure for you to bail out of the school council racer because you're on this your wallet going you were gonna walk around yes all the sudden you changed on a dime yes so someone get up tell you not the runner was a pressure from other people here in the city
- 25:06[SPEAKER_24]: yeah so i think that people who really know me i don't succumb to pressure i really don't care what people think i act independently that was a sole decision on my part for one very good reason which i'm sure you'll agree with once i explain so the superintendent
- 25:22[SPEAKER_24]: solicited other people and wanted to know what my agenda was and he was told that my agenda was to get him fired.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_24]: So what he did with the president of the teachers union is they solicited three other people who were going to be disciples of Larry Schmiegel.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_24]: And so basically the board was going, those people were going to get voted in and it was going to be me against six other board members and the superintendent.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_24]: That would be foolish for me to be on a board when I'm going to stand alone.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_24]: And I also know that my voice is better heard on the other side as a taxpayer, as a post is sitting on that board, where they would try to suppress what I was saying and I'd have six people breathing down my neck telling me to be quiet.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_24]: It wasn't going to do that to myself.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_05]: council was something here in the city there we want to Miller's for mayor come on yeah that's that's a whole different species and so you're not a free day as car questions that's what I went on I was going to hold in this school board for you by the way but I never have before but the I appreciate somebody's not afraid to tell it this school super tendos is the be a
- 26:33[SPEAKER_05]: about the prayer and everything.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_24]: You know what I mean?
- 26:36[SPEAKER_05]: He is.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_05]: About six million dollars on his watch.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_05]: The last five years just probably will be million dollars.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_05]: Which is outrageous.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_24]: Well, first.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_24]: And I'm glad you brought that up so the current budget that he's proposing for the community to vote on is 112 million, which is an increase from last year for 8.1 million.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_24]: But when you really go back and look at how much they actually spent from the previous budget, which was 96 million, there's a lot of money left over and he hit a lot of that money and reserve accounts.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_24]: But the more worrisome thing here is you've got a school district that has 112 million dollar out for a vote.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_24]: You've got a city budget that's going to be at 65 million for a population of like 26,000.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_24]: 23,5.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_24]: 23,5.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_24]: Even less.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_24]: How are we in this community going to be able to sustain that?
- 27:26[SPEAKER_24]: We're not.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_24]: When you look at the superintendent's budget, here's the other thing where I want people to know.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_24]: You know.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_24]: you can't you can't tell people don't vote for the budget but just be careful what you're voting for because last year when we had this campaign to not approve the budget he went around telling people that teachers were going to lose their jobs that we're not we weren't going to have money for hours and all this nonsense there's something called a contingency budget.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_24]: If this budget were to be voted down, just like the Carthage community did, a contingent they'd have an opportunity for a second vote.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_24]: And if it was voted down again, then the contingency budget would go into place.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_24]: And you know what that would translate into?
- 28:06[SPEAKER_24]: It would translate into the $8.1 million increase that he is suggesting that we approve that would not go into effect.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_24]: And people really need to think about that.
- 28:17[UNKNOWN]: OK.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's the angry man there.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_04]: He likes you.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_24]: Oh, oh, oh, that's the angry man How you doing?
- 28:26[SPEAKER_24]: Good Just a lot of balls in the air.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_24]: You know a lot of things.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_04]: I know anything you want to confess to us or anything confess I have no confessions.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_24]: Okay.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_24]: My life is an open book.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_04]: Well, all right.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_04]: Well, let's go to know that's good to know I mean The way you start it.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_24]: How you can't I am Catholic?
- 28:44[UNKNOWN]: I
- 28:45[SPEAKER_04]: But is it still blessed me father for I have sinned it's been ten years and I've been ten years in my last confession and then they hand out the penance.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I don't know where to start with this.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_04]: Let's start with the city.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_24]: Okay.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_04]: I was just talking about this thing where the city got this award, from the New York Conference of Mayors, for the community, something or other award, what the Mayor call it?
- 29:15[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god, plus or so, you know, I kind of like her, but she's, you know.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_24]: Well, you should like her.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_24]: She's a good lady, and let me tell you something.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_04]: She doesn't like me.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_24]: Well, I don't think that's true Jeff.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_24]: You see that all the time.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_24]: You're always like, go, people don't like me.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_24]: Like, it's not, don't self-deprecate.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_24]: You don't really know that, but at the same time, you know, you have to understand that we have a woman working in a man's world.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_24]: Okay?
- 29:38[SPEAKER_24]: Think about that.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_24]: She is the only woman sitting on that day with all those men, and it is not an easy thing to do.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_24]: So I'm glad that you're publicly saying that you like her, but that's not true that she doesn't like you.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_04]: OK, now, local achievement award they got for this redesign implementation of new refuse roots.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_04]: A month ago they were talking about eliminating a refuse department.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_24]: Yes.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_04]: Moral problems galore.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_24]: Yes.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_04]: Accusations that the third floor was intentionally trying to deep-six the department.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_04]: And meanwhile, there's submitting an application to Nikon for an award because you don't get the award, unless somebody submitted something and they present the award yesterday to the mayor, but the mayor wasn't there.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_04]: So they gave it to somebody else.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_04]: We don't know who it is.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_24]: You need somebody representing the mayor?
- 30:22[SPEAKER_04]: Apparently, yeah.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_24]: Okay.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_04]: Can you find out?
- 30:26[SPEAKER_24]: I could.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_24]: You're in with that crowd, not me.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, I was also going to mention, I know this doesn't affect your life, but it affects one of your fellow mean girls.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_04]: Tomorrow, in Lions Falls at Boondak's restaurant, Anthony Constantino will be there from 12 to 2, and he'll be at the Hoover Inn and Evans Mills from 3 to 5, and show some support, or at least ask some questions, a lot of people are wondering, I would make an announcement Sunday half of Mr. Smallen, if he sent him in, and
- 31:01[SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, just go to those things because it's important.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_04]: That's the next member of Congress from the North country.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_04]: Not us, for say, because we're on just the other side of the line.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_04]: But it still is important.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_04]: So.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_24]: So let me answer your question.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_24]: Someone from DPW received that award for refuse.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_04]: Well, good for them, who was it?
- 31:22[SPEAKER_24]: I don't know who the individual was, but someone representing DPW.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's a new conference with Marys.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_04]: The Marys should be there.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_04]: Well, who nominated the city, and I'm not saying they shouldn't get it, because I love the refuse workers, but
- 31:39[SPEAKER_04]: given the recent debate doesn't anyone but me think it's ironic.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, well, you know, I'm glad that they rescinded that decision because when you are putting forth a $65 million budget and you could at least pick up the garbage, like to me that was I'm glad that they came to their senses about that and it's a good thing for our community, you know, you know this Jeff, we've been handed Sarah
- 32:10[SPEAKER_24]: a bag of just ton of financial detriment, we knew this was coming down the pipe, we knew that and it has been very difficult to navigate through all of this and you've got some people on that city council who just want to give everything for free.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_24]: you can your guess is as good as mine.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_24]: There are some people that are conservative on that council and there are other people that are not and they just want to give everything out for free and you want and they want to impose all of these.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_04]: They had a meeting two nights ago and the hit was a budget session started at five thirty rounds six o'clock they went into executive session without the manager.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_04]: I've never seen that happen before.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_04]: you followed council meeting service and unless it's them one meeting year they do an appraisal of them if this wasn't it so anyway they were in there a couple hours at least and then they come out and they said well we're gonna talk about what we did in the meeting next Monday uh... and all of that but what do you think they were doing an executive session without the manager is that is there a reason he do something wrong or
- 33:18[SPEAKER_24]: I don't know.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_24]: I really don't.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_24]: I mean, obviously it's executive material.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_24]: So I'm not privy to that information.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_04]: But they said it was personnel.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, assume.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_04]: It's a list of who to can.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_24]: Maybe.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_24]: I don't know.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I don't think they can anybody.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_04]: But given the difference isn't that budget 8% to get it down to the cap of 3%.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_04]: And it's funny in this town.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_04]: If you heard all the debate over the city budget, it's, oh my God, we can't afford
- 33:47[SPEAKER_04]: But they'll pay that extra $8 million for your buddy Schmeagle, and they don't even question it.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_04]: Nobody.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_24]: I know.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_24]: I just, you know, it's so frustrating, the community, but you have to understand too is, well, we know this, right?
- 34:02[SPEAKER_24]: We don't get to vote on the city budget.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_24]: We have our elected officials who do that on behalf of the community.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_04]: But it's a really don't vote on the school budget, because
- 34:10[SPEAKER_04]: can't defeat it entirely.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_24]: Well, you can cause it did it.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_04]: I don't but it comes back in terms of contingency budgets and that.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, but but if you do the, I don't want you to downplay that because if you vote down the budget and the contingency budget goes into play, then is $8.1 million increase does not take effect.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_24]: You know what's included in that $8.1 million give me a second and I'll tell you.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_24]: Number one, there's an administrative in turn.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_24]: So it's another layer of administration.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_24]: You've got a layer of executive vice principle.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_24]: He wants to change the software.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_24]: The software in and of itself is called focus.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_24]: It was something that he used in, you know, down in Florida.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_24]: Who cares?
- 34:53[SPEAKER_24]: We don't even use it at the North Country.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_24]: Both this doesn't support it.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_24]: The software itself is $200,000.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_24]: That does not include the rollout.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_24]: in implementation, learning curve, etc.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_24]: Why?
- 35:06[SPEAKER_24]: Why when you're raising a budget by 8 million dollars you want to do this?
- 35:10[SPEAKER_24]: It is ridiculous.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_24]: He's still driving around.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_24]: He's still driving around.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_24]: The $85,000 UConn we've got van sitting there.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_24]: He's implement.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_24]: He won't give the CBOs any increase for the UPK.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_24]: but then he implements bus service for the pre-K children.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_24]: Well Einstein, if you got no kids to transport, like why are we spending money on that?
- 35:32[SPEAKER_24]: That's a great thought, but you got five vans.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_08]: Mm-hmm.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_24]: And we're paying thousands of dollars to first student.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_24]: I mean, the whole thing, and you know, I said this the last time, and I'll say it again.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_24]: You can't be mad at the offender anymore.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_24]: You've got to be mad at the people who continue to allow him to offend, and that is that board.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_24]: You've got nepotism going on there.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_24]: You've got the board president and the assistant board VP president, wives work in the school district.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_24]: The two members who are probably going to get voted and also have family members within the district.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_24]: And there's no check in balance, there's no fact checking.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_24]: No one questions this guy.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_24]: He just says whatever he wants and does whatever he wants.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and he's not even listening.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_24]: Oh, no, he's listening.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_24]: Oh, absolutely, he's listening because you know what he does.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_24]: He makes phone calls to people and says, Hey, did you hear Millie?
- 36:25[SPEAKER_24]: Uh, did what Millie says?
- 36:27[SPEAKER_24]: And then he's got his right.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_24]: He's got his president rebudding what I'm saying at a board meeting.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_04]: I had a board near who listens to those.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_24]: Listen, they want a lot of people 1700 at the last one.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_04]: He could come in here and talk about it.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_24]: He's not going to come talk to you.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_24]: He won't even speak to the media.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_24]: He sends emails.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_04]: Well, how about the board president coming in?
- 36:46[SPEAKER_24]: You can ask him, but you know, remember they're dictated by Mr. King, the dictator.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_24]: They're not allowed to speak to anybody.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_09]: Mm-hmm.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_24]: Another reason why I'm not on the school board because I was talking too much.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_24]: They don't want anybody talking.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_24]: The whole thing is a cult in there.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_24]: You are not allowed to talk to anybody.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_24]: And do not talk to Millie Smith.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_24]: This is why he still doesn't understand how much I know.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_24]: Because people confide in me and people on the inside confide in me, which is why I know what's going on.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_04]: OK, we got Millie Smith there.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_04]: Former school board member and a wonderful person.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_04]: So we'll be back with more in a moment.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_14]: The news and talk authority, W-E-T-A-M-2040.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_10]: It's all you need to know.

- 38:22[SPEAKER_16]: A successful entrepreneur, businessman, and former professional boxer, Anthony Constantino is described as a proven leader.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_16]: In Congress, he'll fight to grow the economy, cut taxes, and promote made in the USA.

- 38:49[SPEAKER_16]: He's a great guy, and he will never let you down.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_16]: I'm Anthony Carrson-Tino and I approve this message.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_16]: Remember, the Democrats want President Trump out.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_16]: We need Anthony Constantino in.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_16]: On primary Tuesday, June 23rd, vote for Anthony Constantino for Congress, paid for by Constantino for Congress.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_02]: Every day, someone walks to the mailbox.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_02]: They pause, they sort, they notice.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_02]: In a world that moves fast, the mailbox slows things down.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_02]: A message in someone's hand feels different.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's not a swipe, not a scroll, not a distraction.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's intentional.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: When your mail shows up consistently, clearly, thoughtfully, it builds trust when it speaks to the right people.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_02]: At the right time, it builds response.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_02]: When it works together as a plan,
- 39:36[SPEAKER_02]: Mail isn't just paper, it's presence, it's connection, it's opportunity delivered.

- 41:03[SPEAKER_24]: Doesn't yeah, I don't really care what people say they can say whatever they want it to all here say They haven't looked at the video footage and the video footage completely vindicates me So I you know that about me.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_24]: I don't care people either like me or they don't like me They weren't there.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_24]: They didn't witness what happened and it will come out.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well It strikes me and this is not a big city, but you were prominent citizen
- 41:33[SPEAKER_04]: At the time your wife at the time, but wife of the former mayor, but at one time you were the mayor's wife, I can't imagine that a junior officer would bring those charges two weeks later without somebody on the third floor reviewing it and saying that's okay.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_24]: right so it was three weeks later and it was at nine forty five p.m. which makes the whole thing even more absurd um yeah there was a lot of hands in that and what was the motive what was the reasoning I don't know it will come out at some point but I definitely didn't know the officer at all I can't imagine that the chief of police would have signed office I'm something like that I can't imagine that the city did yeah I can't imagine that the city
- 42:24[SPEAKER_24]: and nothing was done to stop it.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_24]: It's a frivolous claim.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_24]: The guy is living and enjoying his life, and I absolutely had a lot to do with that.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_24]: And that instead, and I'm not, I think people know me enough, I don't care to be on a stage, but literally I should have been commended for that.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_24]: Me and all the people who participated in saving these guys like, but it turned into a fiasco,
- 42:49[SPEAKER_24]: illegal nonsense that's been dragged out for a month now, no conclusion, and it's the charges are going to have to be dropped because I didn't do anything wrong.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_24]: Well, they keep trying to make you admit to something, and I'm not going to, and they can keep trying into their bloom to face, I'm not going to do it.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_04]: Well, but the DA, she doesn't like her or something.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_24]: I don't think, you know, the DA, I mean, Christina, you think that she really, I mean, did she really sign off on it?
- 43:16[SPEAKER_24]: Well, somebody's
- 43:19[SPEAKER_04]: But there is a chain of command in the police in the DA's office and somebody would say, this is stupid, you know, the Jews saying worth the squeeze, they say.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_04]: And nobody seems willing to say that, they seem to say that.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_24]: It's like a habitato.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_24]: Everyone just keeps throwing it to different places.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_04]: Again, another call.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_04]: But after you're noon, you're on the air.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, good afternoon.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_06]: I got a question from Millie.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_06]: Millie, maybe you can give me your take on why performance wise won't work.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_06]: been dead the last place it seems like in New York State as far as school ranking.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_24]: Yes.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_06]: For test scores and all that kind of stuff, I want to know what's going on in the work on school district.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_06]: It hadn't.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_06]: It wasn't like that, even 20 years ago, wasn't like that.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_24]: Right.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_04]: And, and, and, and, and, all right, thanks, Jeff.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_06]: I'll hang up and listen up there.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_06]: Thank you.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_24]: Thank you.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_24]: I'm so glad you brought that up because yes, we are ranked at 138 out of 658 in our ELA in math scores.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_24]: So this Schmiegel has been here now, it he's entering his fourth year.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_24]: And nothing has significantly improved.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_24]: Two years ago there was a presentation where they went up there and they said, oh, we're getting better by 1%, that's embarrassing.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_24]: You probably shouldn't have not even mentioned that at all.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_24]: When you compare yourself to Sackets Harbor, Carthage and Indian River,
- 44:37[SPEAKER_24]: They're at above 40% in proficiency, where at 32% in proficiency with no improvement.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_24]: We've literally plateaued.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_24]: Why?
- 44:47[SPEAKER_24]: I'm going to tell you why.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_24]: The morale in the school district is terrible.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_24]: We have the best teachers, but the tools that they're given, or the tools lack thereof, that they're not given, are just not being important.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_24]: Larry is more interested in launching parties and I'll just love to read this because I am just flabbergasted by this.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_24]: He's launching parties on social media, the school parent square or whatever about
- 45:21[SPEAKER_24]: I just want to pull this up because, oh, we're having join us for a launch party.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_24]: We're excited to celebrate a new partnership, expanding a firming community-based support for transgender, gender, non-conforming, and non-binary individuals across the North country.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_24]: That is what he's spending his money and time on.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_24]: And not that anybody has anything like that stuff.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_24]: Well, you know, a lot of people like TPOSA, that's turning point, that's a conservative.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_24]: Do you have launching parties for them?
- 45:51[SPEAKER_24]: Do you promote both platforms equally?
- 45:54[SPEAKER_24]: No, you don't.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_24]: So he is more invested in the social perspective instead of the educational perspective.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_24]: Because our scores are flat.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_24]: No, I did not vote to hire them.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_24]: No, and I have been on board to fire him after year two.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_24]: First year, everything was fine.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_24]: Year two, three, and now four, this guy should be gone.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_24]: And sadly enough, we've got a board who will support him until his full five-year contract.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_24]: And at five-year contract, when it ends, it's gonna end because we're stepping stone.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, okay.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_24]: No, he's going to leave.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_24]: You want it a why?
- 46:32[SPEAKER_24]: Because he's got a doctorate in the superintendent and he can make up to $450,000 somewhere else.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_24]: Why would he stay here making $210,000?
- 46:39[SPEAKER_24]: There's another thing, $210,000 in Watertown, New York is a superintendent and he probably has about 15 layers and I'm probably embellishing that number a little bit, but about 15 layers of administrative people who do all his work.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_24]: What does he do all day?
- 46:55[SPEAKER_24]: You should see the responses he sends to parents.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_24]: They're literally like two pages long.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_24]: This is what you spend your time doing on responding to emails, two pages long.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_24]: He doesn't meet with anybody, he doesn't talk to anybody, and he just goes to the board meetings, and he acts like, oh, we've done all these great things.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_24]: No, look at the morale, look at our scores, and look at the condition of our buildings.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_24]: Yes, we have 110 capital improvement project, but none of us are seeing the results yet.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, all right, I got Millie Smith here.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_04]: We'll take time out for some messages and be right back
- 47:34[SPEAKER_14]: We'll bring you the latest in just minutes at the top of the hour on AM-1240-W-A-T-A.

- 51:11[SPEAKER_24]: it goes up way far.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_24]: Somebody and the upper, whether it be in the police department or in the city or at the district attorney's office, someone should have enough insight to say, this is frivolous or not spending taxpayer dollars on this.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_24]: It is ridiculous because I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that anyone in their right mind, you got to see them?
- 51:34[SPEAKER_24]: am I going to sue them yeah i mean that's up for discussion i'm like i'm not going to say that right now i got to figure out how the outcome is but what i wanted to let me finish my sentence is anybody in the right mind if they were choking they would absolutely pick a pa with 30 years of emergency room medicine in urgent care medicine versus a cop
- 51:54[SPEAKER_24]: Hmm, I don't think if I'm choking I have the real I'm not gonna sit there You're not but if you if you want the best care you're gonna go for the highest level and that was me Well the question is did you assault the cop of course?
- 52:05[SPEAKER_24]: I didn't that's so ridiculous and if I assaulted her why don't why didn't you call the police chief and just say what's all this about?
- 52:13[SPEAKER_24]: Well, first of all, I don't have that relationship, and my first notion was to go to Todd Doldo, who's my attorney, and he said you can take care of this.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_24]: But let's now that we're in the context of city leadership, you know, it is really, really sad to me that we don't have, you were just mentioning to me off the air, that a lot of the people that work for the city don't live within the city.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_24]: The Linchimo on the outskirts.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_24]: you know, what is going on with our community is a complacency so pervasive that no one is stepping up to the plate.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_24]: For example, I reached out to a bunch of people for the school board that needed to be like-minded, like me, so we could have the majority.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_24]: No one wants to be afraid.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_24]: Yes, that's exactly right.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_24]: They're afraid of jelly.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_04]: Why do it?
- 53:00[SPEAKER_04]: You're not getting paid.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_24]: What's the point of because I think that people should have some type of
- 53:05[SPEAKER_24]: you know, um, desire to do civic duty to make your community the best that it can be.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_04]: And we don't have a civic duty is fine, but when you get the, uh, hired guns that come in and are immediately making six figures, you know, the number of city employees making six figures is staggering now compared to what it used to be.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_24]: Yep.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_24]: Well, it's still, I feel like we have a lot of local talent and all those talent to people are not stepping up to the plate because it is.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_04]: You're talented, why don't you?
- 53:38[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, but two out of 10.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_04]: You had this sufficient petition to get on this.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_24]: You're absolutely.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_04]: And you could run for mayor next year.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_24]: I could.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_04]: And you should.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I mean, you want, you want Dr. Kimball in this mayor, because he's going to be.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_24]: Well, I hope not, because that would be a detriment to our community.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_04]: Why is that?
- 53:56[SPEAKER_24]: Because his views are just not aligned with the majority of this community.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_04]: But maybe they are.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_24]: I don't I don't believe that I think that there's a I think there's a loud minority and a silent majority.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_04]: You know, half the voters in 2024 in the city voted for Kamala Harris.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_04]: It was a 50 50 split in the city among those who voted the 7,000 voted who used to say Dr. Kimbles not in touch with half of the people in town at least.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_24]: Well, he's very pompous and arrogant, so I don't think he's in touch with a lot of people.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_04]: Well, he's a surge, you know.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_24]: Well, I mean, I'm a provided.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_24]: There's a lot of certain things that aren't like that.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, you know, I don't know.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's just, uh, you say you want leadership.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_08]: Yep.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_04]: but we tend to put down leadership in this town.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_04]: We tend to say you shouldn't get this.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_04]: You shouldn't get that.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_04]: When I was in there and folks were part of it, you shouldn't get any health insurance.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_04]: You shouldn't get any health or other buddies are in on the scam.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you don't Mr. Wagner, God bless him.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_04]: of retired colonel, retire civilian employee, get social security, a city salary, and probably participate in a tier 6 401k.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_04]: So I mean, he's taken care of.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not saying we don't appreciate his service to country or think he's a great guy.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_04]: Same thing with your buddy Schmiegel, you know, he got hired.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_04]: He came here and somebody said, we want to hire you.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_04]: It's not his fault he got hired.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, no, I totally get that.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_24]: But I think we need to change the culture and more people need to start getting involved, or our community is just gonna continue to deteriorate.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_24]: I mean, we can't sustain these budgets.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_24]: We can't.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_24]: People are gonna move out of the city.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_24]: We've already lost, we've lost a ton of people.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_24]: Yes, thank God we have for drum, but at the same time, we are not going to be able to sustain the cost of living.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_24]: in this community it is ridiculous and we have people in positions of power at the school level and we are dealing with a financial cliff and that but we've known that for a while now and sadly enough we need more people to step up that actually know what they're talking about when you sit and you watch those council meetings like we need to hear more input from those members
- 56:22[SPEAKER_04]: Well, they need to be more in touch with things before they get to the meeting.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, they're asking questions that could have been asked or we currently are privately, you know, I don't know.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, look at the way they debate this golf club up there.
- 56:36[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I know we didn't believe in buying the golf club and a lot of people didn't, but a city bought it and they bought it with an affirmation that they were going to run it.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_04]: And now they say, well, we want to lease it out.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_04]: We want to do this.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_04]: That's all BS incredible, BS.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_04]: They have no concept of really the business aspect of it or what they should be asking of someone that they're willing to give a multi-million dollar city asset to for a song, which is really what they're asking, they're planning on doing.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_04]: They're going to lease that out essentially for free on a basis that
- 57:15[SPEAKER_04]: if the lawnmowers for the greens break the city will replace them if an ice machine bows up again as it did this year the buy a new one form and you can't do that because that's not getting rid of the expenses yeah no you can't do that I agree with that but you know running a city is like running your own business
- 57:33[SPEAKER_24]: And you just need more people that are more business-minded oriented to really be in these positions of authority.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_24]: We just, you know, across look at our school board, it's the same thing.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_24]: These people have no clue what they're approving, what they're disapproving.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_24]: They're just being told and they just sit there.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_24]: They occupy space and they follow the leader.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah, but what do you do?
- 57:57[SPEAKER_04]: They sit there and they say, well, this is a state mandate you have to do it.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_04]: That's...
- 58:02[SPEAKER_24]: Well, they can, but no one fact checks that.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_04]: And they got all of these governments now are four or five law firms.
- 58:09[SPEAKER_24]: Oh, my gosh.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, the school district has at least four law firms, which is ridiculous.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you used to be at an in-house corporation council or something.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_04]: Those days are gone.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_24]: No, I mean, I think we're in difficult times.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_24]: And, you know, I think that our mayor's doing the best as she can.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_24]: She's only one.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_04]: God bless her.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, God bless her is right.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_04]: Well, what do you want to do to get her on the show here?
- 58:33[SPEAKER_04]: I want to talk of it.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_04]: She's got her thing going for the 250th anniversary and looking for kids to submit things Which I think is a great idea.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, I thought she had a great idea with that reimagining in the park, but they shot her down on that Yeah, there's a lot of great ideas But again, you have to be on working with people that are like-minded Mm-hmm, and that's the problem.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_24]: You've got diversity going with ideas all over the place and then you get nothing accomplished
- 58:57[SPEAKER_04]: do for a city or a god.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_24]: Yeah, I shouldn't have used that word.

- 59:06[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I was talking to a couple of teachers the other day.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_04]: I won't mention their names, because I don't want to get them in trouble, but they're a long time friends.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_04]: And we're talking about the, the Yukon, Janale, they were appalled by it.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_24]: Of course.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_24]: And he's still driving it.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_24]: He's driving a two miles on the road to meetings in Boses.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_24]: How in the, the, the, the, the ironic thing is he has the exact same vehicle.
