- 0:00Speaker 1: Markimo, the issues you really care about on seven ten
- 0:04Speaker 1: wor Well, it's a little better today, it's not as
- 0:15Speaker 1: cold as yesterday. We got a lot to get to
- 0:18Speaker 1: this hour, the affordability crisis, we got Mom Donnie to
- 0:24Speaker 1: talk about, and Christmas and a whole lot of stuff.
- 0:29Speaker 1: When you're in the supermarket more and more, have you
- 0:32Speaker 1: started using the self checkout or you still? It depends
- 0:35Speaker 1: if your cashiers. They always have like seven lanes and
- 0:39Speaker 1: only three cashiers, and I've never seen have you ever
- 0:44Speaker 1: been in the supermarket? We're every single aisle, every single
- 0:48Speaker 1: lane has a cashier and it never ever, ever, why
- 0:50Speaker 1: did they do that? Like when you go to the bank,
- 0:52Speaker 1: they have twelve windows, there's always two tellers. Why did
- 0:55Speaker 1: they build twelve windows. There's never been twelve tellers working
- 0:59Speaker 1: at the same time ever in a bank. So when
- 1:01Speaker 1: you go to the self checkout, it's pretty easy unless
- 1:06Speaker 1: you got stuff that's got to be weighed, and then
- 1:08Speaker 1: it gets a little tough. Now, be honest, did you
- 1:13Speaker 1: ever steal anything at the self checkout? You know, you
- 1:16Speaker 1: don't have to run every single item right by that scanner.
- 1:21Speaker 1: You run one or two. You got your bag set
- 1:23Speaker 1: up you're throwing them in the bag, be totally honest.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Did you ever maybe one item you didn't ring up
- 1:30Speaker 1: or two or three? Well, it happens a lot. There's
- 1:33Speaker 1: a couple of chains that got rid of self checkout
- 1:35Speaker 1: because of that exact problem. They were losing too much
- 1:40Speaker 1: to theft. Now there's been a study done about this apparently,
- 1:46Speaker 1: Now who would steal like that from the self checkout?
- 1:48Speaker 1: Wealthy Americans apparently are stealing much more from self served
- 1:52Speaker 1: checkouts than anybody else. A sizeable for if wealthy Americans
- 2:00Speaker 1: have admitted to not scanning an item in a store. Now,
- 2:04Speaker 1: sometimes you try to scan it, it doesn't scan, or sometimes
- 2:07Speaker 1: it's bananas or something. You got to weigh it and
- 2:09Speaker 1: theda don't know, you know how to you just throw
- 2:11Speaker 1: it in the bag. If you break it down by sex,
- 2:15Speaker 1: men steal far more than women do, almost more than
- 2:19Speaker 1: double the rate. Well okay, I mean, it's pretty obvious
- 2:23Speaker 1: men do more bad things than women do. Generally, many
- 2:27Speaker 1: of those surveys said they feel justified in stealing some
- 2:29Speaker 1: minor items. Thirty percent say the store is too large
- 2:34Speaker 1: and profitable. They don't feel the petty theft will do
- 2:38Speaker 1: anything to them thirty five percent. So they feel that
- 2:42Speaker 1: having to scan the items and self checkout is unpaid labor,
- 2:46Speaker 1: and this is compensation for it. It's kind of true,
- 2:52Speaker 1: you know. Remember Amazon opened those stores. They had one
- 2:55Speaker 1: in Time Warners Center, they had one near Grandson. Remember
- 2:57Speaker 1: Amazon tried doing stores, these little stores where you could
- 3:00Speaker 1: walk in, grab a little shopping cart thing and take
- 3:06Speaker 1: whatever you want and leave because each item had some
- 3:09Speaker 1: little tag on it that as you walked out, the
- 3:12Speaker 1: door would click and it would build your Amazon account automatically. Now,
- 3:18Speaker 1: whatever happened to that? Why can't I guess it's tougher
- 3:20Speaker 1: for a supermarket to do it, But that's the best
- 3:22Speaker 1: system Amazon tried that. I noticed those stores are all
- 3:25Speaker 1: gone now, but it was a great idea. Walk in,
- 3:28Speaker 1: grab whatever you want. Everything's got a little tag that
- 3:31Speaker 1: like a little Bluetooth tag on it. It'll when you
- 3:34Speaker 1: walk out, you go through a scanner, it'll see exactly
- 3:37Speaker 1: what you took and charge you for. It makes perfect sense.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Luigi Mangioni. The hearings going on, and I keep reading
- 3:44Speaker 1: all these things about how good looking he is. Do
- 3:46Speaker 1: you find him really good looking? Luigi Mangioni, there is
- 3:52Speaker 1: something about him, women like, I don't know, they like
- 3:54Speaker 1: his eyes, they like as this, I don't know, they
- 3:57Speaker 1: like those big enormous eyebrows whatever, and a good looking
- 4:04Speaker 1: I don't know, you kind of look. If you're making
- 4:06Speaker 1: a movie about Lenny Bruce, I could see hiring him
- 4:08Speaker 1: to play Lenny Bruce. He kind of has that look
- 4:10Speaker 1: about him. But Lenny Bruce was like a good looking guy,
- 4:12Speaker 1: but kind of ratty looking, a little scruffy looking. So
- 4:16Speaker 1: I don't know. But there's more and more of this
- 4:20Speaker 1: where on the left they just idolize any kind of criminal.
- 4:24Speaker 1: You could be an illegal alien, you could be a
- 4:26Speaker 1: narco terrorist moving drugs. You could even be an assassin.
- 4:30Speaker 1: To hear a criminal. The left loves you. They're out
- 4:33Speaker 1: there fighting for you. And even these candidates Brad Lander
- 4:38Speaker 1: talking about fighting for immigrants, they're not immigrants. They're illegals.
- 4:43Speaker 1: They're illegals that broke into the country. There's nothing more
- 4:46Speaker 1: insulting to immigrants than putting illegal illegals across the border
- 4:53Speaker 1: illegally into the same category with them. It's just a
- 4:56Speaker 1: awful awful thing to do, but it's happening more and
- 5:01Speaker 1: more so. It is also a movement right now to
- 5:06Speaker 1: get rid of you know, no more cell phones in
- 5:09Speaker 1: the classroom. Kid comes to school, got to lock up
- 5:12Speaker 1: his cell phones for the day. When he leaves, he
- 5:13Speaker 1: gets it back. But now there's more and more of
- 5:15Speaker 1: a movement to take it away from kids in general,
- 5:19Speaker 1: like no more cell phones, no more social media for
- 5:23Speaker 1: a kid. And this is both sides of the Aisle,
- 5:27Speaker 1: Republicans talking about it, Democrats talking about it. You might
- 5:30Speaker 1: have seen the ram Emmanuel I don't know why he
- 5:33Speaker 1: thinks this is a big issue for him. He wants
- 5:35Speaker 1: to run for president in twenty twenty eight. All over
- 5:38Speaker 1: the airwaves now talking about no more social media for kids,
- 5:41Speaker 1: keep it away from them. Even Lara Trump on a
- 5:45Speaker 1: show said they got three kids. They got one iPad
- 5:48Speaker 1: for the kids, and they lock it up most of
- 5:50Speaker 1: the day. They want their kids reading books. Well, okay,
- 5:56Speaker 1: but this has gone on forever, this debate. You know,
- 6:00Speaker 1: you got a kid now he's spending too many hours
- 6:03Speaker 1: looking at his phone, looking at social media, looking at this.
- 6:07Speaker 1: But it is the same thing years ago when you
- 6:08Speaker 1: were a kid, only it was television, it wasn't social media.
- 6:13Speaker 1: You know, your parents would yell you stop watching TV
- 6:15Speaker 1: all day, Go outside and play, Go do your homework.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Why you don't just sit there and watch TV. And
- 6:21Speaker 1: you might think that's not as bad, but it was
- 6:23Speaker 1: just as bad. What were you watching on TV? Nothing
- 6:25Speaker 1: Worthwhile you're watching Gilligan's Island reruns, you're watching The Monsters
- 6:29Speaker 1: every day. I mean, it wasn't anything great you were watching.
- 6:32Speaker 1: You probably learn more on TikTok than you did back
- 6:35Speaker 1: then watching The Monsters every day and reruns or I'll
- 6:39Speaker 1: leave it to Beaver was a show with some substance
- 6:42Speaker 1: to it. So there's more and more of this movement
- 6:45Speaker 1: to get kids to read books. But you kind of
- 6:49Speaker 1: need the phone to read a book. You need your
- 6:51Speaker 1: kindle there to read it. But I guess you could
- 6:52Speaker 1: still read actual books now. But we'll see where this goes.
- 6:57Speaker 1: So Tucker car and people keep asking about this, What
- 7:01Speaker 1: the hell happened to him? You know, Tucker Carlson was
- 7:04Speaker 1: a pretty respectable, legitimate figure when he was on Fox News.
- 7:09Speaker 1: There he was discussing the issues with great American politicians.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Now you see the guy and he's like a raving
- 7:17Speaker 1: maniac online and he's got this anti semi creep weirdo
- 7:22Speaker 1: on he's allowing this guy to have his say on
- 7:28Speaker 1: his show, and then what was it earlier this week
- 7:31Speaker 1: he's in cutter talking about how he's moving there. Just
- 7:34Speaker 1: one wacky thing after another, and then you see a
- 7:37Speaker 1: bunch of these people doing that, Megan Kelly, all these
- 7:40Speaker 1: people acting like wacko lunatics, and what it is they've
- 7:43Speaker 1: all been fired. They don't work anywhere anymore. You know,
- 7:46Speaker 1: if you're on the Fox News channel, it's got millions
- 7:48Speaker 1: of viewers, and if you do a show there millions
- 7:52Speaker 1: of people we'll see you. Now if you get fired
- 7:55Speaker 1: and you're doing a podcast out of your bedroom and
- 7:58Speaker 1: you're not on a network, nobody sees you. So the
- 8:01Speaker 1: only way what do you do? How do you get attention? Well,
- 8:04Speaker 1: you got to do some crazy thing that goes viral,
- 8:07Speaker 1: even if it's on the left, left wing stuff, you know,
- 8:09Speaker 1: the left wing sites start attacking you like crazy. At
- 8:13Speaker 1: least it get your attention and publicity. So that's why
- 8:16Speaker 1: Megan Kelly became a total wacko. Also Tucker Carlson, Now
- 8:21Speaker 1: there's a few others. It's kind of like you remember
- 8:23Speaker 1: Alex Jones, who you know, normal people didn't pay attention
- 8:28Speaker 1: to him. But all the rednecks and hillbilly's and wackos
- 8:31Speaker 1: and all they love this Alex Jones and they went
- 8:33Speaker 1: crazy with him. And he made a fortune, made hundreds
- 8:36Speaker 1: and hundreds of millions of dollars. Tom. So that's Tucker Carlson,
- 8:41Speaker 1: Megan Kelly, there's a few others like that. They just
- 8:44Speaker 1: have to act totally nuts, outrageous. They're trying to become
- 8:47Speaker 1: the new Alex Jones. You know, you would think Tucker
- 8:50Speaker 1: would know better, but apparently he would not know better
- 8:55Speaker 1: than that. So now Charlie Kirk was a different case.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Now here was a guy who had a huge audience,
- 9:08Speaker 1: didn't have to do wacky things. He was preaching great stuff,
- 9:12Speaker 1: and he was preaching a lot of stuff you'd want
- 9:14Speaker 1: somebody to try to get across to younger people, you know,
- 9:17Speaker 1: take more interest in religion, go into church and read
- 9:21Speaker 1: the Bible, and I mean, this is all fine stuff.
- 9:24Speaker 1: But the left wing went after him like crazy. It
- 9:26Speaker 1: led to his assassination. He apparently had written a book
- 9:31Speaker 1: before he died, and his wife has now put out
- 9:35Speaker 1: the book and it's going around promoting it and it's
- 9:39Speaker 1: riled up these left wing nuts again. There's a left
- 9:42Speaker 1: wing podcaster, Jennifer Welch, and there's Trump derangement syndrome. There's
- 9:48Speaker 1: Hagsith derangement syndrome. There's Charlie Kirk derangement syndrome her. Now
- 9:54Speaker 1: here's another one who went viral with this wack o stuff.
- 9:58Speaker 1: It's about Charlie Kirk screaming and wildly unhinged rants. He's
- 10:02Speaker 1: a racist, he's an opportunistic grifter. The wife is a grifter.
- 10:08Speaker 1: This woman should be kicked to the curb. She goes
- 10:11Speaker 1: just like Donald Trump, just like her unrepentant, racist, homophobic husband.
- 10:18Speaker 1: There's no truth to any of this. It's just lunacy.
- 10:22Speaker 1: You saw Letterman doing the same thing last night when
- 10:25Speaker 1: he was on Jimmy Kimmel. Listen, we got a lot
- 10:27Speaker 1: of people we don't like, we don't like Mom Donnie.
- 10:30Speaker 1: But I don't see anybody go nuts about him. It's
- 10:32Speaker 1: not derangement syndrome. And we just can't stand Mom Donnie.
- 10:35Speaker 1: But if you listen to people, they'll say, you know,
- 10:37Speaker 1: he's only thirty four, he's never even run anything, he's
- 10:39Speaker 1: never even had a job. Okay, well, that's a legitimate argument.
- 10:43Speaker 1: And things he said are anti semitic. He's been quite
- 10:45Speaker 1: anti semitic and some of the things. Yeah, okay, that's
- 10:48Speaker 1: a good seems to be very pro criminal. Yeah that's true.
- 10:53Speaker 1: But we don't go on and on and on screaming
- 10:55Speaker 1: that he's a thief of there's no ranting and raving
- 10:59Speaker 1: and nut I don't know what it is. Psychologists have
- 11:02Speaker 1: studied this. It's and they say it's not just about Trump,
- 11:08Speaker 1: it's about other things in their life. They hate their father.
- 11:10Speaker 1: It's daddy syndrome. I mean, if there's all these explanations
- 11:13Speaker 1: you can read online from psychologists, they're seeing things in
- 11:16Speaker 1: Trump that set them off about other things in their life.
- 11:20Speaker 1: They just get it's they get childlike, childish. You know,
- 11:24Speaker 1: if you said, yeah, I really don't like that, mom, Donny,
- 11:26Speaker 1: I don't like anything he's saying. I don't like what
- 11:28Speaker 1: he stands. Okay, that's fine. But if you start ranting
- 11:31Speaker 1: and raving and screaming about it's just childish. And you
- 11:35Speaker 1: look at these people doing it about Trump, it's just
- 11:37Speaker 1: out of control. It's just childlike. It's you know, it's
- 11:42Speaker 1: been going on for ten years now, and ten years
- 11:45Speaker 1: ago we thought, well, all right, it'll get better after
- 11:47Speaker 1: a few it's this has gotten worse and worse and worse.
- 11:51Speaker 1: It's never gonna stop. We're gonna have to live with
- 11:53Speaker 1: this disease for the rest of our life. Hey, Judge,
- 11:56Speaker 1: who's ordered the release of the Epstein case grand jury transcripts.
- 12:03Speaker 1: So this is the other thing with the left. They
- 12:04Speaker 1: always think they got Trump. They got him now on something.
- 12:08Speaker 1: This is a big deal. They've got him on this.
- 12:10Speaker 1: They're going to Judge is ruled the grand jury transcripts
- 12:14Speaker 1: from the Epstein case have to be released now. Again,
- 12:17Speaker 1: if you talk to people that have seen everything, they've
- 12:21Speaker 1: seen these grand jury things. They've seen the full Epstein files.
- 12:24Speaker 1: You talk to people in the US Attorney's office that
- 12:26Speaker 1: saw them. If you talk to even Alan Dershwitz, who
- 12:29Speaker 1: was the attorney for Epstein and or Yeah, he was
- 12:34Speaker 1: Epstein's attorney for a while, so he saw everything. People
- 12:37Speaker 1: have seen everything. Tell you there's absolutely nothing in any file,
- 12:41Speaker 1: in any grand jury transcript, there's nothing anywhere in any
- 12:45Speaker 1: of these documents that would tell you anything you haven't
- 12:48Speaker 1: heard already. All the names that are in there, you've
- 12:50Speaker 1: already heard all. There might be one or two little names,
- 12:53Speaker 1: unknown people. But there's every major name that's in there.
- 12:56Speaker 1: You've already heard about it if you talk to them, Well,
- 12:59Speaker 1: what's in those Epstein fault It's basically just witness transcripts
- 13:02Speaker 1: of witness interviews. Nothing to outrageous. But remember the same
- 13:09Speaker 1: thing with the MRI. They we're trying to get Trump's MRI.
- 13:12Speaker 1: The Left went nuts trying to get that MRI. Well
- 13:16Speaker 1: they finally got it in the same thing, Eh, it
- 13:18Speaker 1: was nothing. There one thing I like about Christmas all
- 13:22Speaker 1: these artists you get to hear. You know, obviously you
- 13:26Speaker 1: can walk around in the world today and hear Taylor
- 13:27Speaker 1: Swift all the time or Dual Liapa, but how often
- 13:30Speaker 1: you get to hear Elvis nowadays? So every Christmas, if
- 13:35Speaker 1: you're in your teens or even in your twenties, every Christmas,
- 13:38Speaker 1: who the hell is this guy? And then it's your
- 13:40Speaker 1: only exposure to Elvin And then I don't know, maybe
- 13:44Speaker 1: I would think a lot of them. If you get
- 13:45Speaker 1: interested in the guy, Oh, this guy's pretty interesting, they
- 13:47Speaker 1: start googling him, youtubing him and start to hear his
- 13:51Speaker 1: other hits. Like if you're twenty six, you're never in
- 13:54Speaker 1: your life heard of this guy bing Crosby, Who the hell's
- 13:57Speaker 1: this guy? And they have no idea that I'm like.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Nineteen thirty to nineteen fifty, this guy was the single
- 14:03Speaker 1: most famous singer in the world. This guy was the
- 14:06Speaker 1: biggest figure in entertainment for like twenty five years before
- 14:11Speaker 1: Sinatra took over. This guy was the voice of America
- 14:15Speaker 1: for decades. Looking back on it, well, you admit you
- 14:18Speaker 1: were nuts listening to this still still so you hear
- 14:20Speaker 1: all these people now, you would never hear Nobody would
- 14:23Speaker 1: ever hear Andy Williams today if it wasn't for Christmas
- 14:26Speaker 1: or Perry Como. I love Perry Como lived right there,
- 14:28Speaker 1: right in Long Island, lived in Sand's Point. Earth a
- 14:32Speaker 1: Kit that's one of the biggest Christmas So I love
- 14:34Speaker 1: earth a Kit. She was one of the greatest singers
- 14:37Speaker 1: I know. Her daughter. Her daughter has a kit. Shapiro
- 14:42Speaker 1: store in Westport, Connecticut. Clothing store actually put out a
- 14:44Speaker 1: perfume called Eartha if you want a great perfume. And
- 14:48Speaker 1: I hate to break it to you, but there's a
- 14:49Speaker 1: lot of kids today who really wouldn't know who the
- 14:52Speaker 1: hell Paul McCartney was about. Another the Beatles broke up
- 14:55Speaker 1: fifty five years ago. I mean, there's a lot of
- 14:58Speaker 1: wouldn't know so one great thing about Christmas. Hey, we'll
- 15:01Speaker 1: take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three two one zero
- 15:05Speaker 1: seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two one
- 15:09Speaker 1: zero seven ten
