- FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Welcome to the Dad Bod Sports Cards podcast. We are here again with Flinttown Sports Cards and Aaron. Aaron, we gotta we gotta find a name for you, Aaron, rather than just Aaron. Right. so we are here. This is gonna be our weekly pick'ems that we do every week. this week's first game is gonna be on Wednesday, September 9th. So right now we're recording. It is Sunday, so we should be able to get this out on Tuesday. before the first game on Wednesday. I just gotta edit the video after the podcast. So I'll probably spend that time on Labor Day on Monday doing that. the season schedule, we will try to record on Tuesdays. That way we can get them out by Wednesday before the Thursday night football games. So for the four people that watch, you know, if you get your pick'ems from us, like we're offering our expertise, but you know, and and we're gonna have special guests throughout the season. but right now we'll start off the show with like it's been two weeks since our last recording together. the wal like the welcome back to season two show. So in the past couple weeks, just if you want to give an update of what you've been doing, it could be football related or cannot, because I don't have a lot of football related stuff. it could be sports cards related or whatever. So we'll start off with Aaron since he's probably not gonna have any long updates. So Aaron, what have you been up to the past two weeks? Aaron: Just waiting for football. Waiting to watch the Steelers play and the Bears. DadBodSportsCards: you guys destroyed Green Bay in preseason, so that was good. Yeah, I mean you don't have a quarterback. in preseason you didn't have a quarterback. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Aaron Rodgers, your starter, and he didn't play at all in the preseason. So I'm really curious to see how Pittsburgh's gonna look because this week they play Atlanta and I I struggled with that pick because as I because we haven't seen any like Pittsburgh FlintTown: Yep. DadBodSportsCards: starters really play this over the preseason. So shit hit the table. All right, Flinttown, so what have you been up to the past couple of weeks? I know you've been at card shows and everything, you've been busy, FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: so what what else you've been up to? FlintTown: I did the last two weeks I've done two shows each weekend and Did real good last week at a show. And then this week I bought a Jordan rookie sticker today or yesterday. I got it up in the showcase. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, you should show it. Do you have do you have it there with you? You should show it real quick. you got up there. Yeah. So he got a nineteen, it's a nineteen eighty-six Fleer PSA 3 Michael Jordan sticker card. he told me that he bought it at full comps, but that's how Jordan's prices are right now. You're you're pretty much if you have them, you're pretty much able to sell them at full comps. If you're buying, you're you're pretty much paying full comps, or at least ninety percent and up. So FlintTown: Yeah. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: but that's just the way his market's going. His market and all the other goats are are up right now. there's been a slight dip, I think, in Tom Brady, but it's I mean, that's it's just gonna go up because football season's here and everything, especially for Tom Brady. And what what was the name FlintTown: Yeah. And like DadBodSportsCards: what was the name of that card show? Like it was like Razfest or FlintTown: Yeah, Rasmania was the DadBodSportsCards: Ras media. FlintTown: one two weeks ago. Great show. my kid got to meet Derek Barnes, our one of our linebackers, got him to sign the back of the Flinttown shirt, which was really cool. And then DadBodSportsCards: Nice. Yeah. FlintTown: Brock Wright, the backup tight end, was there and signed a picture for and gave him that. And then King of Cards didn't end up getting there, but he did they did give away the hobbyist hats. So Landon DadBodSportsCards: awesome, awesome. Yeah. FlintTown: Landon got one of them, so that was pretty cool. DadBodSportsCards: And then and then he also got to Landon also got to line up with all the other kids and take a picture, like I mean, they were on stage but with Jared Goff and everything. Yeah, that was that that was pretty cool. Yep. FlintTown: Yeah. Yep. Goff was there talking and stuff. And I know a Goff can't sign 'cause he's fanatics under fanatics. So that's why if it's not it does. It does. DadBodSportsCards: okay. So okay, okay. That that part ki that part kinda sucks for the hobby. Yeah. Yeah. so like was his wife there? FlintTown: I don't think so. Dude, I was at the show there Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: No? okay. I mean she would have had she would've had a crowd she would've had a crowd around her too, 'cause she's a sports illustrator model. FlintTown: Yeah. I was literally at my table the whole time. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. yeah. I mean that's that was a big show. Like one one FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: of the big shows in in Detroit. Like who was FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: running it, right? Yeah. FlintTown: I I pretty much did what I did almost. I almost did as good as the Columbus show. DadBodSportsCards: really? That's awesome. That's awesome. So and also for FlintTown: Yeah. So DadBodSportsCards: people that don't also for people that don't know, Flinttown just ran a show on was it, it was Saturday night? Yeah, it was on Saturday night on whatnot. FlintTown: Yep. Saturday night. DadBodSportsCards: I I watched the majority of it, but at towards the end of the night I kind of trailed off because I was watching that very long second Michigan game. I was watching that game. I was really looking forward to the FlintTown: Ho ho ho ho blue, baby. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, I was looking forward to the Clemson LSU game, but that was delayed and then I was watching and I had money like on Michigan in my parlay and I'm like, What is going on? Like, what is going on? It's ridiculous. It I mean, yeah, it's it's FlintTown: Yeah, it it's bad. It was bad. It was bad. DadBodSportsCards: bad. I mean, but you know what, take take the win. But I did text you, like, I don't want to hear you complaining about refs at all this season. Like FlintTown: I mean it is what it is. I and I seen the new review like where that second was still on. DadBodSportsCards: It it doesn't make sense. The the reason why FlintTown: It I don't know. DadBodSportsCards: I say is the only reason why it okay. So, real quick for everybody that doesn't know, Michigan threw a Hail Mary, clock went on zero on TV, and then but they reviewed it and said the Western Michigan DB jumped from out of bounds and then he touched the ball. And on their clock system, that there was a second left when he touched that ball. The problem with that is in that big ass statement from the Big Ten. They said that every single clock is strobe connected, like some strobe light technology, that every single clock is bless you, every single clock is FlintTown: He thank you. DadBodSportsCards: is is Aaron: And same. DadBodSportsCards: in sync, thank you, in sync with each other FlintTown: Like, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: and cla and and calibrated and everything, right? So what fucking clock were we looking at on TV? Because because the that clock on TV that we see on our TV is a zoomed in picture of the game clock in the stadium. We all saw zero. We all saw the ball still in the air, not even being touched at zero. So they've they found I want to know where that camera was that they're showing in their example where it shows one second. None of us know. They pro I mean, it this I I never blame the refs. I never do any of that stuff because bad calls happen. So my FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: my way of just looking at it, it was just a bad call. They came up with a second somewhere. And It's not guaranteed that they're gonna hit Hail Mary, right? So like so like it was it was just a miracle. It Yes, yes. Yeah. Aaron: Yeah. FlintTown: Exactly. Your chances are like that. DadBodSportsCards: And I go ahead, Aaron. Aaron: And I was I was upset 'cause they rushed for and had a spy. I'm like, You're putting six defenders back, that's not it. DadBodSportsCards: Well, I mean I mean w like I don't think like I think you should at least rush three and have eight back there and everything. And that's only because the the Bears did the same thing when we were at that Hail Mary game against the Commanders. They had a spy for whatever reason on Jaden Daniels. He's not running the ball. What that one was like a sixty five yard throw. the only thing I didn't like was I'm not a fan of Bryce Underwood, man. Like The way he was like mean mugging the camera after that, like he did something. And I and I Aaron: I just see that. DadBodSportsCards: yeah, and I get it. Like you threw a Hail Mary, that's fucking awesome. But you didn't do anything. Well, pretty much you didn't do anything last season. You FlintTown: Yeah, throughout the whole game. DadBodSportsCards: didn't do anything, you didn't do anything this game either. Don't mean FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: mug. Thank your blessings. Be happy. Show a little be a little shocked rather than like, I'm I'm the shit. Because when you start playing better teams and everything, like hail Hail Mary is not gonna matter, right? FlintTown: No, and it's this weekend too. DadBodSportsCards: Who who do you guys? Well, I think Kara said that that you guys play Oklahoma. Yeah, okay. Is it Oklahoma? That's that's gonna be a good game. But who knows? FlintTown: Oklahoma I think it's Oklahoma. DadBodSportsCards: Maybe this may I am all like everybody that knows me knows I'm a believer of everything happens for a reason. Maybe this was meant to be, you know, like that a call like that went in your favor, then you capitalized on that. And maybe this would be a push for the whole season. Like, hey, yeah. FlintTown: Wake up. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Like, you know, like you you can build confidence from it. You know, the the Bears did it last year with all our fourth quarter comebacks. Like you just yeah, you just build on that momentum. You you know, and FlintTown: Yeah. Big time. Big time. It's momentum. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: and maybe, I mean, I never really saw Caleb mead mug after like one of those game winning drives. I mean, yeah, he he would do something like that, you know, like he's Iceman or something like that. FlintTown: Ha ha ha. DadBodSportsCards: But he wasn't mead mug in the camera like Bryce Underwear. So FlintTown: No underwear. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah. But yeah, but that that was crazy yesterday's game. And then LSU dominated. my buddy Gerard was there. He was he was showing stories on Facebook of being on the sidelines. I thought that was kind of cool. he's a he's a huge Lane Kiffin fan because his I think its cousin was on the staff for Ole Miss. And then Lane Kiffin brought him over to LSU. So I thought it kind of cool. So he was able to get on the sidelines and bring his family and everything. So I thought I thought that was really FlintTown: That's sweet. DadBodSportsCards: cool. And then, you know, I I did recognize he did take a picture with Leonard Fournette. I didn't know who the other guys were that he took pictures with though. like some white guy and then another another dude. had no idea if it was a player if it was his cousin. Well no, his cousin looked I think he took a picture with his cousin that his cousin did not look like a football player. So unless he was like unless FlintTown: Really. DadBodSportsCards: unless he was like an old school like wide receiver, like maybe maybe for like five, ten and like a hundred and thirty pounds. Like he looked really skinny and everything. But that was kind of cool. do you got any more updates for the past couple of weeks? FlintTown: I think I'm not having another show until I come back from vacation in couple weeks, so DadBodSportsCards: were you going on vacation? FlintTown: Let's see. DadBodSportsCards: do guys did you guys gonna go to Dollywood? Maybe. FlintTown: well, we're getting like a cabin somewhere in that area. DadBodSportsCards: Nice. Yeah. Yeah. That that we w we went there, I don't know. It was probably like seven, eight years ago now when we went there. Like when we met met Abby. Aaron: Yeah. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Danielle's Danielle's daughter. We met her there. And that that place is a lot of fun. Go you the Ripley's aquarium is pretty cool. That's a lot of fun. yeah, there's there's so much to do there, man. FlintTown: So when we do when we do the podcast that week, I'll be in the hot tub shirtless like G and G, you know. DadBodSportsCards: There you go. There you go. Yes. Yeah. Well G GNG FlintTown: Okay. DadBodSportsCards: shirtless and then GNG driving all over fucking Wisconsin in his van trying to trying to be Chester over there. Trying to be Chester. All right. Right. All right. quick FlintTown: Free candy DadBodSportsCards: quick update. Quick update for me. we had the card show, the first ever in our county. Went well. trying to build off that momentum. I It's a whole new world being like a host to a card show because you gotta have a vendor list. So now I have to network like with vendors and like that's that's gonna take time, right? In order to do like four to five card shows a year in our county. so we're we're hoping to to work that out. so that show went well. I mean, other than that, like nothing really crazy. Just been watching preseason football, just been watching a lot of fucking Bears tech like hype videos, like getting ready for this season. I mean the Bears are all over national news too, because Mad the Madden cover and how well they played last year. and then another update. I did an interview with Lolo Rips. She's on TikTok, so she's a new person in her hobby. so we'll we'll see where her path or her journey leads her. sh she ripped some like a Disney like 70th anniversary, I think it was like a mega box at Disneyland. So I thought that was kind of cool. Like that kind of content was something different. but other than that, we had our drafts. that's one of our bonus episodes like on the podcast. We had our FlintTown: Yok. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: drafts, which awful quality, but it was unfiltered. It was raw. I mean, nothing was cut out. Nothing was cut out in that draft from the sleep. Aaron: did y'all stream it? DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, this the sleeper league one. The Aaron's not in that draft. FlintTown: yeah. Aaron: yeah. DadBodSportsCards: but so it what's what's that was the first time us doing something like that. So now I know that the software can handle it. I could probably try to do that for all my drafts that I'm in. and who knows, maybe, maybe because we are the home of Zach Moss, that maybe we can get Zach Moss in one of our fantasy football leagues. That was kinda cool. Yeah, that would be awesome. Could kinda like FlintTown: That would be cool. DadBodSportsCards: how Austin Keckler, Aust Austin Austin Eckler, like how he Aaron: Cycle. DadBodSportsCards: does yeah, Keckler. A Austin Eckler has done a lot of stuff for fantasy football because he, I mean when he was a player, he he was well aware of his fantasy rankings. But he did like the the draft order for people. But hopefully, like if you if you know Zach Moss, tag him. That way he could see this because Flinttown started the whole Zach Moss thing. And we kind of built built upon it. There's gonna be a couple of videos in this podcast that you're gonna see at some point of me sending our buddy Dom and then Flinttown very special cards and I asked them to record it. So and you're gonna see a different side of Dom and Flint in in that video. but yeah, all right. So we are we are all caught up on our updates. what you got? FlintTown: gonna say I watched the Lolo Rip interview, great interview, and DadBodSportsCards: Hm. Thanks. FlintTown: I was gonna say too, she needs to hold that genty till this season. And then that genty will go up. So DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah, definitely. Yep. Yep. I mean, it might even it might even be mid season because he might not be starting week one. So that's defin that's definitely a hold. But like it was FlintTown: That's true. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: cool to see her experience because we understand it because we've been in a hobby for like two and a half years now. Like FlintTown: Yeah. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: for someone new to see that, this price, this car was up here, and then it dips. And then that's what I learned. Like like I still have the Tyler Warren one of one. I it's hard to sell because you gotta find the right buyer for it. FlintTown: One ones are hard to sell, but when you sell it, you can get whatever your price is. And that's the pe like you just gotta be DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah. Well hope hopeful hopefully. FlintTown: you just gotta be, you know, like that's this is what my price is. DadBodSportsCards: Actively selling it. Yep. FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. I also want to get a shout out to to Big Riz. He's been giving me plenty of advice. Like, start putting this crap in my whatnot store. So I gotta start doing that. and he's also been a strong supporter of of me on whatnot. All right, though, to how did did you do well on the end the the show Saturday night that eventually pick up on sales? Okay. Because you had over a hundred, it was over a hundred auctions. Yeah, so that was cool. FlintTown: I didn't do bad. I didn't do bad. I and that's the thing. Yeah. Yeah. And I ran uptown. I the first ever big case hit I ran, you know, which like DadBodSportsCards: Yep. Yeah. Yeah. FlintTown: I wanted to do that anyways. A lot of that stuff I already was above water, you know? DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah. FlintTown: So I just wanna have fun and give the like If someone else can make a little bit of money, you know, that's what it's about. So hey. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. So like s sellers like you and I, we both have the same mindset. Like we try to get cards at the at the right price. That way we can sell it and still give room to our to our buyers that way. Cause a lot of people are flippers. And then every now and then you'll get like the the collectors. They'll they don't care what the price is, like they'll pay FlintTown: Yep. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: and everything. But like you and I have the same mindset. Like we're not trying to rip people off. We're not trying to scream at people on the on on the chat FlintTown: Exactly. DadBodSportsCards: and you know, trying to sell A three dollar card for 28 bucks and everything. I mean, I'm all for it. If somebody wants to pay me 28 bucks for a three dollar card, I'm all for it. But I'm gonna tell you, like, hey, you overpaid. I will tell you FlintTown: Yeah. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: in my stream, not like other people's, like, this this is a fifty dollar card chat, and it's really like four. Like I I might start doing I might start doing a series where I'm gonna go on whatnot buyers or sellers and then start recording. I gotta find out the le like the legality of it to see if I can and then start calling them out on TikTok. You know, FlintTown: Yeah you can. You can. DadBodSportsCards: like start calling them out on TikTok and be like, like, hey, like, because it gives us whatnot sell. I mean, you're more you're more in the at the actual FlintTown: my chat. DadBodSportsCards: live shows, but like, but you still go on whatnot. It gives the rest of us whatnot sellers like a bad name and everything because they think we're kind of seller. I FlintTown: Very bad. DadBodSportsCards: was like, no. It's like what I'm not like that. I'm fully transparent. I will show you the comps that I have. And then sometimes people update me in my comps because it might be like three weeks before I check them. So, I mean, maybe that's not a good business model, but I'd I'd rather I'd I'd rather be an honest seller than you know, than a douchebag. But but the douchebags are winning right now. Like corporate wise and everything. They they are. But I yeah. I FlintTown: Yeah, they are. But guess what? DadBodSportsCards: think at the end of the day, at the end of the day, karma, karma. So maybe I'll start a series with like all these different sellers and start calling them out and start trying to get people to push like, hey, don't go to this person or don't go to that kind of stuff because those dudes still get a hundred to two hundred people in their rooms. I don't know why. Everybody knows you're getting ripped off. I don't understand it. And yeah, and the or the or the people that crash out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Bad crash out. FlintTown: Or the people that crash out. Bad. Crash out bad. DadBodSportsCards: All right, so that that was that was a quick update. Let's go ahead and get on into our week one picks. I f I mean I didn't see what the record was last year. we'll we'll have Aaron start since he doesn't talk as much. So we'll have him start because he he he loves analyzing stuff. We'll have him start, then we'll go Flint, and then I'll I'll I'll go last. I keep track of everything. That way we could do this weekly thing. We will maybe we'll put up a poll sometime this season. Whoever comes in last place is gonna have to do something. so we'll we'll maybe we might leave maybe we might leave that up. Maybe we might leave that up to as Dom loves it with to the chat, right? So FlintTown: That'd be fun. DadBodSportsCards: so if you if you're if you're watching this, if you're watching this on YouTube or even on Apple Podcasts, because it's where we have that's we'll eventually get Spotify soon. I gotta figure that out. But put in the comments what do you think the punishment should be for the person who's in last place? But I mean, if you saw the bonus episode, like I mean, it's it's uncensored, no holds barred, we all give each other shit and everything. So it I think it'll be a lot of fun. All right. So let's start off. The first game this week is out Wednesday, September ninth. So at like I said, as of this recording, we are here Sunday night. Monday's Labor Day. So Wednesday is the first game. And we got the Super Bowl rematch. We got the New England Patriots at the Seattle Seahawks. So who you got, Aaron? Aaron: Give me a sea hawk. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. Aaron: I think I mean, we saw how well they dominated in the Super Bowl. And the Seahawks concern this year would be the offense, you know, losing Kubiak. Can that offense stay, you know, as good as it was last year? But the defense, I mean they lost Tariq Woolen and I can't remember if they lost anyone else. DadBodSportsCards: They lost Kobe Bryant and went to the Bears. Yeah, the safety. Mm. Aaron: right, they did the yeah. I still think I still think they have it. Mike McDonald's a very good defensive coach. I think he'll figure it out. I think for it's a new wide receiver D B matchup for both sides. like I said, Tariq Woolen is now gone, and then you have the Patriots with Romeo Dubs and AJ Brown. But it's gonna be a lot different than the Super Bowl, I think. I think it's gonna be a lot closer with the Patriots scoring more points, but I still think the Seahawks are gonna win again. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. You got a player to watch or anything? Aaron: I guess I didn't write that down, but probably AJ Brown, just to see how he does with DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Aaron: Drake May. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. What about you, Flint? Who you got? FlintTown: That's a good one to player to watch too. I would say same off the back of you, player to watch, AJ Brown, the connection. this is a hard one, I would say, just because it is the Super Bowl champ er it's the Super Bowl all over again. But it is at Seattle. And Seattle's usually really good at Seattle. And I think Seattle's gonna take it. The problem is with Seattle, they lost the secondary. That's why they've been trying to find like that's why they signed Terrian Arnold and they've been Diggs. They didn't they sign Diggs? Aaron: Yeah, they did. DadBodSportsCards: I think I well didn't they cut him? Or is that the other digs? I know there's a couple digs. Yeah, I think they did cut them. Yeah. Eventually they cut FlintTown: They cut I think, too. Yeah. Yeah. So they signed and then cut Like they have a problem in the back end of their defense. Front end, I I think they're okay, but the back end, they have a problem. And that can be dangerous with like AJ Brown being there and they got good wide receivers. So it could be a toss up. But Let me go with Seattle. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. So I'm right there with with both of you. I think Seattle is going to win. Aaron thinks it's gonna be a close game. I don't. I think Seattle's gonna destroy the Patriots. and the reason being, because at least at the Super Bowl was at a neutral site, this one's in Seattle, and that stadium is tough to play in. Like they're gonna be loud. I th maybe they'll get their rings FlintTown: Yeah, it is. DadBodSportsCards: too before the game. So it's gonna be loud at that stadium. And then they're they wanna prove I think they're I I love their coach. I think their coach will get them in the mindset of like, Hey, let's prove that that Super Bowl wasn't a fluke, even though no, I don't think anybody thought thought it was a fluke, but let's go out there FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: and show, like, hey, we dominated them and we could still dominate them. I am my and I agree with both of you. I think AJ Brown is a great player to watch because I want to see what his chemistry is gonna be with Drake May. I think we all think AJ Brown could be a number one, like a top, top 10, top five fantasy wide receiver in this league. but we all know he gets he gets a little moody, right? This, I mean, he did it in Tennessee, got a little moody, asked for a trade, got traded. And now the same thing at the Eagles. He didn't get along with Jalen Hurts and that staff for whatever reason, and they eventually traded him. So, like, is it and also the offseason, the Vrabel stuff with you know, Diana Russini, is that gonna affect, you know, like the I'm I mean the mindset of it, right? Like, because that was in the FlintTown: Yeah. I didn't even think about that. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: offseason. So there's a lot of drama that's going on in New England. Where Seattle is just like, hey, we're the Super Bowl champs. We're enjoying it. And now we got a home game against the same team that we destroyed. So I agree about the secondary part, but their defensive front, I don't know their names of the their defensive ends FlintTown: Me either. DadBodSportsCards: and defensive tackles, but they're they're dudes. They're dudes. I FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: and I don't how many sacks did they get in the Super Bowl? Wasn't it like it was a lot of sacks in the Super Bowl? So FlintTown: Go. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: so like I think they're gonna have Drake May. Chasing him all over the field. Travian Henderson might not play. So that's going to be another factor. but yeah, let's let's go Seattle, AJ Brown. I agree with both of you. I just think it's gonna be a blowout by Seattle. All right. Next game is the Thursday night game, which is usually the first game of the season. but I think because this game is in Australia, is the reason why they did a Wednesday night game first and then the Thursday night game. Because I believe this game is only on Netflix. I'm not sure though, but I think it's only on Netflix. And it's the San Francisco Forty Niners versus LA Rams. Who do you got, Aaron? Aaron: I have the LA right here. I don't I don't I don't think I need to say anything. I think they're j on the sorry on paper they're the best team in the NFL. My note is they better go seventeen and no. They have no excuses. Now, if injuries happen, injuries happen. But if injuries, you know, maybe like minuscule injuries here and there, they better go seventeen and no. So these games are usually always close, I believe. so I don't think it's it's gonna be as easy for the Rams, even though on paper, yes, you are correct that they're probably the best team and how they built their team. But this this is my kickback with him. There, there's Puka's gonna be playing week one, and he should. he should be playing week one. He made the flight to Australia with the team. but he's coming off of an injury. So he's not a hundred percent coming out into the season. Also, he might get suspended by the NFL for biting that chick. Like there that's still that's still out there where he could get suspended, maybe Josh Jacobs style for like six games because it's a domestic abuse, right? So even though they haven't suspended Josh Jacobs yet, but it could be looming this season for Puka. And that's why I asked who the number three is. Because Devontae Adams, I think Devontae Adams is a stud, but he had less than a thousand yards receiving last year. Puka gets the majority of those those targets now. So let's say Puka's out for six weeks. You got Devontae Adams, your number one. Can he really be like a true number one now at this age? I don't think he can be. Like they might not, they might not be top tier players anymore, but I think they're good enough to get them back to the playoffs and make run. He had I don't even know I don't even know how many turnovers he had, how many fumbled snaps he had in the preseason. Tua sucks. They said Michael Penix might get the starting job without playing a snap. That's how bad Tua is. And I just don't see how Atlanta could win. Like their defense is fine, Bijan's good, but the Steelers, if you recall last year, again let me say it's entirely new coaching staff. Everything's different. So using last year's example isn't the greatest. DadBodSportsCards: You don't but you don't like your fucking coach. Aaron: I don't like him. But it's better than Tomlin. I'll say that. What is Mike McCarthy? Mc McCarthy's offense. FlintTown: Offense. DadBodSportsCards: You're gonna lose a little bit on your defense. Your defense is gonna lose a little swagger because they don't have Tomlin anymore and everything. Aaron: Sure. They're gonna lose a little swagger doesn't mean they're gonna get worse. DadBodSportsCards: And you're going I mean You're going against the best Aaron: Do DadBodSportsCards: running you're going against arguably the top two he's a top two running back. Aaron: And we did it last year. DadBodSportsCards: But you had Tomlin last year. This is a whole new, like you just said, it's a whole new staff. It's a whole new staff. And they're they're that staff isn't defensive minded. They're offensive minded. They're not defensive-minded. So it there's there's a reason why good offensive teams are bad offensive teams because they have an offensive guru. The Bears defense, awful last year because we have an offensive-minded head coach. Kyle Shanahan, offensive minded head coach. Awful defense for San Francisco. You guys have been good for years, for decade a decade, over a decade, good at defense because you had a defensive mind to coach. We'll find out. We'll find out if if your defense slacks. I don't you may feel insulted. The quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons is the reason why I'm gonna side with you. But I think B Jones' gonna run all over you guys. Aaron: think we'll be able to contain the running back. Also, don't say the Steelers defense have been good the last decade, because we've spent the most amount of money and we've had a mid tier the defensive front has been amazing. A secondary's been our issue. And now, you know, we have a good secondary, I believe. So that helps it. But you gotta understand, before twenty twenty, the defense was terrible. That's why they never won anything with Big Ben, A B and Bell. Because the defense was that bad. So DadBodSportsCards: They still haven't won anything. Aaron: And that exactly. So and that was also under Tomlin. So we haven't always had a good defense under Tomlin. That's that's what I just wanted to say. but about the Steelers, I had I have faith in the offense. I think what Mathart McCarthy can do is ignite our offense because we haven't had, you know, an exciting offense probably since A B left. You know, we went eleven and all w that one year, but it was more of a fluke than anything. I'm my player to watch is probably gonna be Roman Wilson. It's a little bit here's why. Here's why. All preseason, all training camp, he's been the wide receiver three. He's been the star of the show. But he was like that last year. And then when we got to the season, he kinda fizzled out. He didn't play that good. So and we just drafted a wide receiver in the second round, Jeremy Bernard, out of Alabama. So, that's why I say he's the player to watch. Because If he kinda fizzles out like he did last year, then Jeremy Bernard's gonna get in. And I think Jeremy Bernard, especially after the catch, is a really good receiver. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. So of course he's going to fizzle Because he's not gonna get any targets. He'll get like 40 to 50 targets this year. Maybe well, I'm sorry. He'll get 40 to 50 catches, maybe like 70 targets this year. Because Pittman, Pittman is your intermediate wide receiver. And DK, I mean, I don't even FlintTown: He's good though. DadBodSportsCards: know. I don't I don't Pittman, yeah, he but he's already banged up. He's already hurt. So, but I'm gonna say Pittman is your intermediate guy. So he's gonna get more catches than DK Metcalf. DK Metcalf is technically technically might be Like the the the deep ball guy. But I mean he's built that way, right? He could he's long strides. I think Indianapolis's offense, I mean they still have Jonathan Taylor, who's a top five running back in this league. And I think Jonathan Taylor scored like eighteen touchdowns last year. Give me Houston. Josh Allen does not play well against the Texans, in his career. You know, he obviously had the wild card loss early on in his career. I think it was last year or two years ago. Josh Allen, I think he threw like forty percent and then had like two interceptions. He doesn't play well against Houston. And Houston's defense, they're not gonna miss a step. I still think they're the best defense in the league. Like I think I said before, but when I saw them play the Steelers, it was a whole n it was like seeing it was like a whole new world. Like that team tackles so well. That team is everywhere. And All I'm worried about is just CJ Stroud, you know. Can he take a next step and go back to like his rookie year? 'Cause that's the only thing that's holding him back. With the Bills, you know, they fired their head coach, and then they brought up one of their coordinators. So I don't know if that's gonna change anything, just how scheming goes and all. If Josh Allen will, you know, still play like he does. And you know, 'cause obviously he's a good player. I don't like him, but I can say he's a good player. But I don't think they have any of them to beat. And my player to watch would probably be C Da Shaw. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. The Bears defense Yeah, I don't think the Bears de I mean, it's gonna be a high scoring game. But I will say the Bears defense will probably pick up I think they'll pick up three turnovers. Not counting all the bullshit that's going on right now, but season starts next week, the bullshit is there. Josh Jacobs is Green Bay's best offensive player. They're not gonna have him. He had, I don't know, he had over 12 touchdowns last year. Maybe it could be up to 15 or 16. I don't remember the exact number. But that's a lot of touchdowns take away from that offense when they have a quarterback that's a little shaky and not consistent. They could always rely on Josh Jacobs. The starter now is Marshawn Lloyd. We all don't know how he's gonna be. Like, and it's not gonna be Caleb Johnson. I mean, they traded for him, but you you know, maybe Caleb Johnson is a new new environment. But I think Minnesota is because they're defense and they're gonna get they're gonna get the ball to Justin Jefferson. I believe Justin Jefferson only scored three touchdowns last year, which is fucking ridiculous. Yeah. And it might it might actually just be two, but I I'm I think it's three from what I saw. So they're gonna get him the ball. They got Hawkinson at tight end to be a safety net for Kyler Murray. They don't really have a running game. It's gonna be Jordan Mason. Aaron Jones is too old. But that defense will keep them in games and Kyler Murray to to Jefferson will have them score points because I don't know who the fuck Green Bay's gonna who they're gonna score points with. Like Josh Jacobs is that offense. And on top of that, you don't have Micah Parsons. Until maybe mid-October, maybe November. So you're telling me that the Packers who were nine and three last year when they had Micah Parsons and Josh Jacobs, and then when Micah Parsons got hurt, they finished the season nine and eight. Like I mean, Matt LaFleur, I'll give it to him. He was in a he was in a good system with Josh Jacobs. But now he has Devin H. And Chan's not he's he's a top five running back like in the in the league. He could also catch out of the backfield. They got a hodgepodge of wide receivers from like rookies. And I mean, I don't like I said, we can't even name their wide receivers, but they're pretty they're decent skill players. It's not like Miami has a ton of great skill players on offense. Yeah, you got Brock Bowers, but then okay, now you got Achan. And we don't know if Genty's playing. I think Mike Washington Jr. is gonna have a pretty good game. He's a former razor back. but he's got four two speed, Mike Washington Jr. on if he if he's the starter. But he also has a fumbling issue. So I don't know. I think Miami is gonna do enough with Malik Willis. Kurt I mean, I I love Kirk Cousins. I hate going against him, but Malik Willis can run the ball. So if the pass is Max if Max Crosby gets to the backfield, he could at least scramble a little bit. And I mean this again, this game is pretty much a toss-up, but I I I I will say that Miami as Hodge Podges, their team is, I think their their team's a little bit more organized than it is for the Raiders right now. We saw both of the Super Bowl performances were really good. but they just want him to play safe. They want him to be a conservative football player because that's all you need to do for that team. He didn't want last year to end because Mahomes got hurt. So he's coming back for another season and say what you want about Kelsey. He could still be a top five tight end. They got Rasheed Rice, who's a top 10 wide receiver. And there's nothing, he's not looking to get suspended or anything. But he's there, he's a true number one. They will feed him the ball. K9, I don't really care about. I never really thought Kenneth Walker was a great running back, anyways. But he'll be solid to go back there with I Aaron: Yeah.
